Waching daily Dec 7 2017

Another month, another staff list.

The next few episodes are packed with some pretty interesting pairings.

It looks like we're building to the finale of this tournament now, and these are definitely

the types of lists I like to see.

As always, for those looking to avoid spoilers, I won't ever dive deep into the specifics

of the story details, but I will have to at least acknowledge a few match-ups in order

to contextualise the staff.

This is your warning if you're someone who doesn't want to know anything.

Click away!

This is your last chance!

But now, let's dive in.

We only have three episodes worth of staff to cover today.

This is because we already got episode 119 last month, and there's sadly no episode

on the New Year's Eve.

We'll have to suffer the wait for episode 122, which as you'll hear shortly is pretty

damn hype.

It'll be suffering as it finest.

Right, episode 120.

This is where Goku and co.

take on the robot-looking guys from Universe 3.

We've got ourselves a new writer for this episode in the form of Kenichi Yamashita.

He's been a writer at Toei since at least 2004, and is probably most well-known for

his work on the PreCure series, having written for basically every incarnation over the past

10 years.

He's got several series composer credits – essentially a lead writer – so it seems

he's someone who's very experienced and at least well regarded enough to end up in

high positions.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of his work to be able to say whether he's a great

writer or just an experienced one, but from what I've gathered from looking at the reception

to his episodes, it seems like he's got talent.

Hopefully he understands Dragon Ball enough to be able to deliver something interesting

here.

It sounds very much like an episode that'll require a lot of group work, so fingers crossed

we get some nice interactions.

It's being supervised by Miho Tanaka and Masahiro Shimanuki.

Tanaka's a really interesting name, here.

She's from Studio Wanpack, who I'm sure we all know at this point as a regular support

studio since Super began.

Usually we get Yui Kinoshita or CHIHIRO Tanaka as the supervisor, particularly the latter

as of late.

For some reason we have Miho who's probably most well known for being a supervisor of

Sailor Moon Crystal's first few seasons.

Not exactly the greatest of credits, but she also helped supervise episodes 6 and 19 of

Attack on Titan, so… maybe it's not the worst thing ever?

I think their output will depend very heavily on what key animators they have under them.

Part of me wonders whether it's just a typo and put in the wrong Tanaka – they both

have the same kanji, so I guess we'll see.

Masahiro Shimanuki's usually on-point.

His last episode will have only been 7 weeks ago by the time 113 rolls around.

He's been looking a little rough around the edges with the usual 8 weeks lately, so

that's a little concerning, but I have reasonably high hopes.

He's a very weird and stiff animator, with quite robotic movements, so I'm hoping he'll

take it upon himself to do some key animation.

His weirdo stiff style would probably work quite well!

It's being directed by Hideki Hiroshima and storyboarded by Kiyosato Yamamoto.

Unfortunately, directors not directing their own storyboards is a running theme for this

entire batch.

Directors always function better when they have full creative control, but it's not

the end of the world.

I'm not a huge fan of Hiroshima as a director – I don't think he's great at letting

big moments sit in – everything tends to feel like they're going through the motions.

As much as I liked Tate's 103, it's not a great episode in retrospect.

The battles have no real intensity and the 'dramatic' reveal is… not very dramatic.

On the plus side, I do like Yamamoto as a storyboard artist.

Episode 86 was absolutely stunning with some of the best compositions of the arc.

His most recent work was episode 108, which okay, it's was a Yashima episode so not

that well animated, but the storyboard was more than nice.

I think we're in for a pretty middle of the road episode as far as animation goes.

Unless Ken Otsuka shows up for some reason and does some nice mech animation, it'll

be one of those episodes that hinges very heavily on interesting compositions over anything

else.

I hope I'm wrong, but yeah… not expecting much.

Episode 121 is the follow-up and and hopefully the conclusion of the fight.

It's being written by fan favourite writer, Toshio Yoshitaka.

Much like the last episode, it sounds like it'll be one packed with different characters,

so fingers crossed his forte in that area comes to light once again.

He did well with episodes 107 and 112, so I have no doubt in my mind that he'll deliver

here.

Takao Iwai's directing.

He's wonderful – he knows how to direct character interaction, comedy, action… everything.

His most recent episode, 112, was just wonderful in that regard.

The added bonus is that he seems to be someone who's really good at directing and elevating

others' storyboards.

He rarely boards himself – the last time he did so on a regular basis was back in,

like, 2011.

The storyboard for this episode comes from Yoshitaka Yashima.

We all know him as the solo supervisor with the speed of the gods, but as I mention every

single time he storyboards, I've always found his boards to be his strongest asset.

His action isn't necessarily the most well framed thing in the world, but he's good

at emphasising the scale of battles with some pretty damn creative angles.

I definitely have a lot faith there.

The most interesting aspect of this episode are its supervisors.

It marks the return of Yuichi Karasawa, who did do some key animation on episode 114,

but hasn't supervised since all the way back in episode 106, which was pretty much

a disaster.

Tsuji recorrected basically everything.

He's someone with real skill though as we've seen across all of his part episodes.

Great detailed art with complex shading, and a pretty decent skill as far as actual animation

goes, too.

I'm really hoping this episode is a strong one for him.

He doesn't appear to perform too well under intense time pressures, but assuming all goes

well here, we'll get ourselves a strong half.

The next supervisor is Yuuji Hakamada.

For those who may not know, Hakamada was a very regular supervisor back on Dragon Ball

Z and GT, handling some of the major episodes of both series.

He's not a total stranger to Super – he first popped up towards the end of the Universe

6 arc and throughout the Copy Vegeta stuff as an assistant supervisor.

He vanished to do the new Digimon series, but came back to us for episode 113.

At this point, it's not clear what exactly his style looks like these days, so I'm

really damn excited to see how he's evolved.

He's had a pretty intense career at Toei.

Him and Ken Otsuka worked together as mech supervisors once on Gaiking.

It'd be very cool to see them together again for a mech-focused episode like this, especially

if Otsuka isn't on the previous episode.

Either way, this should be one hell of an episode is all goes right, especially for

those of us who love to work out different styles!

Nothing, and I mean nothing can compare to what's coming in episode 122, though.

I already made a video on it thanks to Takahashi revealing this privately in advance, but he

is of course returning to supervise another episode, and it's looking to be Vegeta vs

Jiren.

As someone who's a not-so-secret fanboy of Vegeta, I am absolutely ecstatic.

That single shot he drew of Vegeta in 114 has had me at full mast ever since.

I cannot wait.

He's joined by Hirotaka Nii, who to me, is a weird choice here.

I would personally flip Nii with Karasawa for the sake of visual consistency.

Nii's work is so polar opposite to Takahashi's usually – but I guess we'll see.

Nii's a very strong supervisor and seems to do action well, so as far as keeping up

the quality in that regard, it's a sensible pairing.

I do think we should expect a degree of visual inconsistency, we survived with Takahashi

and TOEI PHILLIIPINES last time, so I'm sure we'll live through this one.

It's being storyboarded by Naotoshi Shida.

I doubted Shida's boarding abilities for the longest time, but after so many amazing

episodes from him in this arc, I don't have a single doubt in my mind.

I'm really hoping to see more of those seamless action transitions that he's been throwing

at us over his past few episodes.

I think the question that myself and a few of my animation buddies instantly had come

to mind was: is this going to be like episode 95 where he also provides key animation along

with his storyboard?

Personally, I think they'll want to keep him for the finale, and because he's quite

a slow animator, having him show up here would seriously limit what he ends up doing for

the final fight.

One of my friends has asked Takahashi whether Shida will animate, so if he comes back to

us with positive news, I'll let you know!

The only major staff downfall with this episode is its director.

I've given Takahiro Imamura the benefit of the doubt before his past couple of episodes,

and he's let me down every single time.

I really hope he proves me wrong this time.

Takahashi's last episode wasn't particularly well directed either.

He deserves better, so I'm crossing all my limbs in hopes that Imamura can actually

elevate the top-tier action like he did most recently in episode 93.

Atsuhiro Tomioka's writing the script – we know he's good.

He's another fan favourite next to Toshio Yoshitaka, so I'm not even remotely worried

here.

I'm curious as to whether he'll be taking the reins on the writing as the arc moves

towards its finale.

He wrote the start of this arc, right through to the end of the exhibition matches, and

also penned the second half of the special.

I've been wondering if he's acting as a sort of unofficial series composer, so we

should get the answer to that next month.

122 might have its director against it, but everything else is so strong that at the very

worst, it'll be a gorgeous if a little underwhelming fight.

Either way, it's easily the strongest staff-wise for this month, and the big one to look forward

to.

But that's it for this month.

A pretty exciting batch of episodes ahead of us as move towards what will presumably

be the finale of the arc, or the tournament at the very least.

With this rotation, it'll leave guys like Naoki Tate and Shuuichiro Manabe to once again

lead the major action of the arc.

The planning has been so strong throughout this tournament, so I'm glad to see it's

not starting to crumble where it counts.

I might not be engaged in this tournament narratively, but I'd be lying if I said

I wasn't excited for the pure spectacle alone.

Thanks so much for listening!

As always with these videos, let me know what your predictions or hopes are in the comment

section below.

Developer Update | Return to Winter Wonderland | Overwatch (EU) - Duration: 5:10.

Welcome everyone, to the return of Winter Wonderland.

I am Jeff from the Overwatch Team.

We're super excited to tell you all about the event and the return of the

event that's coming this December.

So, there's a lot coming. I know one of your favorite

things to talk about whenever we have a seasonal event is new skins.

There's obviously going to be a lot of Legendary skins; I don't want to reveal

them all, I want to leave some surprise for you when you log into the game.

But I can tell you a long-awaited Hanzo skin that you've seen before (maybe in

one of our comics) is coming to light and we think it's pretty awesome.

So, that should be really cool.

Two of our favorite junkers, no question who they are,

we'll also be getting Legendary skins, but don't fall into despair there are

other Legendaries coming besides the ones that I mentioned.

We also did a seasonal pass to some of our maps.

As you guys remember, in past years we did a seasonal pass to King's Row

and to Hanamura, those will be returning for the holiday season.

We've also done a seasonal pass on the Black Forest arena map.

I think it's one of the most gorgeous jobs that our environmental artists

have ever done.

I was absolutely blown away when I saw the work that they

had done and we really hope that you enjoy that.

Speaking of the Black Forest map, we've taken Mei's Snowball Offensive

and we've moved it into the Black Forest, you can still play it in

Antarctica as well, but it will now be available in the Black Forest as well.

Now we know how much you all love Mei and you love events centered around Mei

during Winter Wonderland.

So, for this year's Winter Wonderland there will be a new event featuring,

yes, you guessed it, Mei.

And it's called Mei's Yeti Hunt.

So, we really want to try something different and fun for this year's event

and it's the idea of what we call a 'boss fight.'

So, you're gonna play, one team is going to be six Mei(s).

It sounds like everybody's worst nightmare and no limits, right?

Six Mei(s) coming at you, against one single Yeti, also known as Winston.

So, it's not a very fair fight and the fact that it's 6v1.

Now the Yeti is actually played by another player.

It's not AI controlled, so when you queue up you'll have the

opportunity to pick, I prefer to play as Mei or I prefer to play as the Yeti.

Obviously, the way the numbers work out not everybody can always be the Yeti.

So, sometimes you're gonna say I prefer to play as the Yeti and end up as Mei.

But if you stay in long enough you will eventually get to play as Winston.

The mode is really fun and different.

It takes place in Nepal village, it's spooky at first where the team of Mei(s)

is actually trying to find Winston.

And what Winston is doing is going around the map looking for power-ups

which are meat that fuels his Primal Rage.

If he gets enough of that meat, he will go into Primal Rage mode

and then the tables turn.

Once Winston is Primal Raged, the Mei(s) just have to escape.

They can use their ice walls, Mei has a special ability

in this mode where she can put down an ice trap and

basically the idea is get away from Winston at all costs.

If enough of the Mei(s) die then the mode is over and Winston wins.

If Winston dies then the Mei(s) win.

So, we think it's a really fun mode.

I think I said earlier that it was 6 Mei(s) versus Winston.

It's actually 5 Mei(s) and the reason we did that is if you want to

queue up as a group of six and just cycle the mode with a different random

player switching into the Winston role you can do that as well.

So, we think this new mode is going to be a lot of fun.

Now, I know a lot of you are thinking it sounds kind of silly and kind of

ridiculous and well, I'm here to tell you it absolutely IS.

But the point of some of these seasonal brawls are just to be

fun and light and refreshing for a short period of time.

We know that the this mode is not going to last you hundreds

of hours and be highly competitive.

We don't think OWL is going to suddenly adopt Mei/Yeti hunt as their

new mode and start playing that or anything ridiculous like that.

This is just a fun light-hearted way to play in the Arcade, blow off some steam,

earn some loot boxes, and have some fun.

So, we hope you enjoy all of the content coming for Winter Wonderland.

We had so much fun making it and

we really wish you the best holiday season.

Thank you so much.

You've Reached Ahsante the Artist - Duration: 2:31.

Hello.

You've reached the voice mailbox of Ahsante the Artist.

Ahsante is unavailable to come to the screen right now because she's having yet another

existential crisis about what video to upload.

She knew she would need to upload a video today, because today is Thursday, the day

she is desperately trying to make her consistent upload day.

Because consistency is key, says the algorithm.

But she has been traveling, and chatting and pretending somewhat successfully that she

has some semblance of a life outside of newsfeeds and timelines and homepages, knowing full

well that her life drives her channel and her channel drives her life.

She's trying to fine tune her frequency, her cadence of online activity and actually

talking to other human beings just for fun.

But nothing is written or ready or done.

And so she's wrestling with how to still have fun with a video that's not one that

she's planned, because the planned ones take too long, but what it this video isn't

as strong.

And it should be in the vein of the channel although she's still kinda trying to get

a handle on where she wants her channel to go in 2018 and this is the kind of crisis

I meant the sort of dancing between ideas of overall meaning and growth and what topics

the audience wants, and what really fits her life, and does her hair really look alright?

Like good enough to film a video because she hasn't washed it in over a week and as she's

shown in another video her process to wash it and make it camera ready takes a pretty

long time and we really don't have time for that or for this rambling train of thought

because it's almost Thursday.

And so she searches for a video that she can make in time for the deadline.

And the more she searches, the shorter her time becomes.

Time refuses to be managed or manipulated.

It forever marches on until 11:59 is gone and midnight strikes Thursday and Thursday

strikes Ahsante, staring her in the face.

Daring her to go to sleep and see if she wakes up early enough to finish in the morning.

Spoiler alert, she never does.

When morning comes she loves her pillow more, even though the springs in her mattress make

her slightly sore, she continues to snore and loose those elusive views.

And so what was to be a thought out, scripted, spirited youtube video turns into this ramble

voicemail message.

At the tone, please leave a brief message commenting on what frequencies you're trying

to fine tune in your life.

And join my Brilliant Beans email club to get an additional video from me each month.

Remember to live spiritedly and think creatively and I will see you next time.

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green | Book Review - Duration: 6:18.

Hi everyone. I'm rincey and this is rincey reads. Today i'm going to be doing

a book review on turtles all the way down by john green. This is a young adult

book, contemporary young adult. I'm pretty sure you guys all realize that by now.

So a quick synopsis: you are following this girl named Aza who is sixteen years old

and she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder.

There's also her best friend Daisy who is fearless and you know sticks by her side

through anything. And there is this boy named Davis who Aza knew from way back

in the day. I believe they said like they went to camp together or something along

those lines. Davis's father is extremely rich and one

day he goes missing. And so there is a reward out to figure out what happened

to Davis's father. And so Daisy decides that her and Aza should catch up with

Davis and try to figure out what happened to the father so that way they

can get the reward so that way they don't have to worry about things like

school and whatever because I think it's like a hundred thousand dollar reward or

something along those lines. So first I have to say that I really enjoyed the

story a lot but I did have some quibbles with it, some problems with it.

The strongest part of this book far and away is Aza and the way that she describes

her obsessive compulsive disorder. Now I'm someone who hasn't read a ton of

books that have to do with OCD and people with like anxiety and other sort

of mental illnesses. So I can't say from experience that this is like the best

description but I feel like the way that she describes her thoughts and her

actions and the way that she feels is so clear that whether you have

obsessive-compulsive disorder or not or you've experienced it with someone else

or like you know someone else who has it, I feel like she does such a good job of

portraying the feelings that she has and how the disorder affects her and how it

impacts her daily life. I feel like this book is worth reading

for that alone. I've never sort of experienced that before and I think that

there's a level of just vulnerability that happens in this book. John Green

himself has admitted to having OCD and I don't know if it's like exactly the same

as Aza's but I would assume that it's similar to Aza's because the way that

he's able to describe it is so like detailed and perfect that I can only

imagine that that's what he has to go through as well. There's a lot that

Aza a sort of explorers in terms of her own OCD but also just general teenage

anxiety and insecurities that happen as well. You know, her relationships, she

questions her relationships with like Daisy and Davis and is not completely

sure if she's like a good friend a lot of the times and she's often worried

about how her OCD is impacting other people. But then sometimes she gets stuck

in her own self that she also doesn't always realize how her OCD is impacting

other people. And I think that Aza as a character is just really, really

interesting and well drawn out and just beautiful and so well done.

With that said, all of the other characters are so flat in my opinion. I have this problem

with almost every john green book that his side characters are always sound so

so interesting but they're never given enough like time or room to develop unto

themselves. Like this book is relatively short. And part of me wonders like what

it would have been like if he was given another 50 to 100 pages to explore these

side characters. Now it's possible that if he did that the story would have

fallen off the rails a little bit. But I feel like Daisy has so much potential in

her and like you find out these little glimpses of her life but you don't

actually get to see her fully fleshed out. There's also like a fight that

happens between Daisy and Aza in this story and it feels like that just

resolves so very quickly. But I think the biggest like downfall to this book is

just the main plot itself of this missing person. It feels kind of

unnecessary. Like this whole quote-unquote mystery of this missing

person doesn't feel very mysterious at all and it just feels like this sort of

side thing that's happening. And I feel like this book just would have been

stronger without that. So yeah, is this like the best John Green Book book ever?

I don't know. It's hard to say. Like I still like The Fault in Our Stars more as an

overall book but I feel like this book had such a stronger impact on me in

terms of like specific scenes and specific lines and specific situations

that he explores. Like there were points in this book that made me want to cry.

And obviously The Fault in Our Stars had points that made me want to cry but it's

the obvious points that made me want to cry. In hear like there are certain ideas

that Aza expresses or certain like lines that are written in here that are just

so beautiful but also so heartbreaking that, yeah, it made me want to cry. And I

feel like this is probably his strongest written book in terms of like the actual

writing itself. But he still struggles like with plot things and like I

mentioned in my wrap-up like they still sound like Dawson's Creek characters in

terms of like sounding significantly older than they are. Like I forgot that Aza

was 16 years old. If you, if I had read this book without knowing her age and

without the fact that knowing she was in high school, I would have assumed she

was in college. And part of me wonders like what would happen if John

Green started writing characters who were in college because if you told me

that these characters were in college like that seems plausible to me.

But saying that they're in high school, not as much. So yeah, in the end I gave this a

three and a half out of five stars because I really enjoyed it

but I just also had like those problems with it that I always had with it. But

it's probably up there with The Fault in Our Stars. I'm really, really glad I've

read it. I would say that if you like John Green you should definitely pick

this up or if you just like contemporary young adult in general you should

definitely pick this up. But I don't think it's necessarily going to appeal

to every reader out there. If you have problems with those sort of John Green

tropes then you're gonna have problems with this book as well. But for me

personally like those things don't really hinder my enjoyment of his books.

I'm able to still really enjoy those beautifully crafted sentences and like

the way he creates this character to explore this disease is just really

really well done. So yeah, those are my quick thoughts on turtles all the way

down. Feel free to leave a comment down below letting me know if you read this

book and what your thoughts are if you did read it. Or if you have any questions

about the book, feel free to leave that down in the comment section as well.

So yeah, that's all I have for now and thanks for watching.

قرأت 100 كتاب في 2017 | ما هي أفضل 5 | مفضلاتي من الكتب - Duration: 8:29.

by the beginning of 2017 I set a goal for myself when it comes to reading

which is to finish reading 100 books by the need of the year

and thank Allah I was able to do so

even before the year ends , we're in December so it's close to ending

so I read 100 books and I'm so happy that I achieved the goal I have put up for myself

today it was hard for me to choose the best 5 from these 100 books

because all of the 100 books were actually great

when I usually buy books

I choose what I want to buy , I don't pick it up randomly

before I buy the book , I read the first one to two pages from the book

If I was drawn to the book

I don't hesitate to buy it

now let me give you my top 5 favourite books

the first book is probably my favourite

or even the best books I read in my entire life

I don't know this series Has been in my dad's bookshelves for a while now

I always wanted to read them But the books are really big

so this year I decided that I should stop stalling and get on reading it

The first book is the genius Of Mohammad (peace be upon him ) prophet Mohammad

I recommend it for everyone not just muslims

he is a teacher in every part of life

he is a teacher in life in general

so I truly recommend this Book , he was a true Genius

and You can truly benefit from it and this is the first book

the second book , I don't know if I have talked about it in the last favourite video

It's a great books and It's a novel

for Suad Alameri , called sharon and my mother in law

it's originally written in English , but was later translated to Arabic

she's writing her diaries but thought her diaries

you are able to understand the Palestinian revolution and how the occupation deals with Palestinians

the struggles Palestinians faced and still do from years till now

because the history is repeating itself

the next book is a self empowerment book for Rwanda bayern

who is the writer of the book The secret and of course you know the secret

so this book ( the power) , is to continue the secret or you can read it even if you didn't read the first one

she focused on all of the positivity we have in our lives that we miss on a lot

because we focus on the secondary things and forget the primary things that we should be thankful for

she also focuses on the hidden power that we have within but we are not aware of

so it's a great book that will help you put your feet on the first step

to achieve your dreams and goals

lets's start with english books and the first one is a novel

it was one of the best books I read , it's a french book

for the writer Grégoire Delacourt

about a lady in her 40

she lives a normal life , married to her first love , have kids

she have a shop and she also have a blog

where she writes about fashion and things like that

one day she stands in front of herself

asking herself why she is living the normal life , remembering her dreams at 17

and why she waited for this age to archived them

so she's confronting herself

and now she wants to change

but then after that for a moment

she says what if normal is good and happy

what if the normal life is a happy life

then she's drawn to a silly situation

after she wins the lottery

everything changes in her life

now change is not in her hands , she have to change

the next novel is grace

I might have liked this one a little bit more than the first one

I didn't hesitate to give it 5 stars

the first one I was between 4 and 5 but this one I gave it 5 immediatly

it's located in Ireland in the 19th century

about a widow who have 4 kids

she sends one of her daughters to work because they have no financial support

so she sends one of her daughters to work

but the situation in Ireland makes her forced to make a decision

that her daughter can't work outside unless she looks like a boy

so she cuts her hair and dress her like a boy

the novel tells the story of this girl but also her mother and

we are able to understand how Ireland was in the 19th century

the last novel is very heartfelt one , based on real events

it was also given the best book of 2017

Really happy That I read it and it was really heartfelt

it's the novel before were yours

based on the events that happened in Memphis in the 1939

the train incident and the selling of children at the time

it's based on it but tells a story on its own

it tells the story of this girl (Rill foss) and her 4 siblings

they live a magical life with their parents until one day

her father has to take their mother's to the hospital and leave her in charge at home

some group gets into their home and take them and start selling them

it's really a great novel and so heartfelt , you can't but cry while reading it

the way it's written catches you , and makes you compassion with the charechters especially with Rill
