How Capitalists Innovate to Solve Problems - Duration: 5:33.

- The greatest contribution that you could

possibly make to the world

is for you to be successful, to start a business,

to be an entrepreneur.

There's this idea that those who create value,

who start businesses and succeed

are doing it on the backs of hardworking people.

The opposite is true.

Those who create the greatest success

in a free market economy,

assuming that it's done voluntarily,

those who have had the most success,

that is a reflection of the value

that they have brought to the marketplace.

My name's Ryan Daniel Marand,

I'm the founder of capitalism.com and the host

of the Freedom Fast Lane podcast,

and we started capitalism.com because

when we look at all of the innovation in the world,

we see the vast majority of it

coming from the free market,

coming from entrepreneurs.

If you look at a company like Tesla, now,

we could debate about Tesla using government subsidies

that were already there,

or we could look at the fact that

we have been trying to solve

the clean energy problem for decades,

and Tesla has done more in the last decade

than government has ever done in the last 50 years.

If we look at the healthcare crisis,

we look at this debate that we're having about

what politician, what gray-haired white politician

is going to determine what's best for all of America,

versus what the founder of Whole Foods has done

to bring whole foods, to bring healthy living mainstream,

entrepreneurs are creating the greatest change.

It's not coming from government,

so we should not be having a debate about

what government should or shouldn't be doing,

we should be having a debate about

how do we create more innovation,

how do we create more entrepreneurs,

how do we create more people

that will create more solutions to problems.

That is why we've had more growth,

more economic growth, more problems solved

in the last 100 years

than ever before in history.

It's because of capitalism,

not because of government.

One of the best ways that individuals can make a difference

is by creating a physical product.

We look at the physical products that have created

a meaningful difference in the world,

a meaningful difference in people's lives,

and created success for the entrepreneur.

I have a buddy, his name is Mike.

He created a physical product because

he saw the healthcare crisis,

he saw what he thought was a problem in the fact that

there are people in this world

who can't afford healthy food,

who can't afford organic food.

So he created a line of physical products

that allowed people to grow it themselves,

to grow it in their own homes,

and it would be affordable for everyone.

So everyone could have organic food on the table

at an affordable price.

Or one of our team members, her name is Marucia,

she just wanted to serve moms.

She just wanted to connect with and serve moms

who give so much to the world,

so she started a coffee line for moms

which is simple and creates a little bit of a difference

in that mom's day,

and as a result has a raving community

that wants to rally behind her products,

and she's creating value and making a difference

in hardworking moms' lives.

Or we have another student, her name is Sophie,

and Sophie saw it as a problem

that we have all this food waste,

and we have all of this, all of these take home containers

that people are just throwing away.

So she created a line of products

that was simply made to help people

have reusable containers that reduced waste in the world.

A little difference that, over a few thousand people,

a few thousand customers, created a meaningful difference

in the world, a meaningful difference

in the customers' lives,

and also created success for the entrepreneur.

That's how we'll make this world a better place,

through more entrepreneurship,

through creating more products that create a better world

for you and the people around you.

If this resonates with you, if you want to be

one of those people that creates value in the world,

or has a business that sells products

that has a meaningful impact on people's lives,

we teach people how to do this.

It's what we stand for and what we believe

at capitalism.com.

We do free trainings all the time

that show people the tactics and the strategies

to start businesses that actually mean something,

and that actually create results and success.

We teach it for free, because if you resonate

with the model, we have incubators,

and we have accelerators, and we have training courses

that you can go through in order to start a business

that makes a meaningful difference in your life

and everyone around you, including your customers.

That's how success is made,

that's how we solve problems,

and that's how we'll move forward as a society.

If you agree with this message,

if you resonate with the fact

that capitalism is how we'll solve the world's problems,

please share this video, follow us on Facebook,

get plugged in to our communities at capitalism.com,

because it is the free market,

and it is individual freedom

that will make this world a better place,

not by waiting for government.

My one question.

I didn't know what I'd say coz I love Kate Moss as well. I think I would be so..

I might actually be quite controversial and ask her how she thinks the mom dresses.

Because recently she said, "I'm not, I'm not the type of woman that dresses like a mom". But how does the mom dress?

Okay.

I've got momsy friends who were like "how does the mom dressed?

them during the catwalk and stuff. So my alter ego is that scoop, who likes to get this scoop fast. Who wants to get the information fast and I feel like I can do that for you guys. Get the scoop for Fashion One.

Stephanie, to you, what is a fashion scoop?

A fashion scoop I think is, you know, we live in the multimedia world where everyone gets the same story but it all depends about your questioning.

. I think a fashion scoop is getting that something that no one else is getting.

And tell me, who is your all time dead and alive style icon?

I think it has to be a Marilyn Monroe.

The reason why I went to LA is I've attended her 50th memorial service

Amazing!

What did you wear?

Oh my gosh! I have this white kind of 50's halter neck dress and it was so scary, there's someone taking a picture of me and my skirt went like

I was just like, "No way! This cannot be happening!" like, "Seriously!"

How would you present Vivienne Westwood show?

Hey, what's going on? It's your girl, Steph scoop. And I am here at Vivienne Westwood show

We don't know what it takes but is she going to bring back some old tartan, is she going to bring some safety pins.

We don't know what to expect but please stay tuned to Fashion One coz I'm about to get you guys the scoop on what Vivienne has to present next season.

After the break the judges narrow down hundreds to just nine finalists and then put them to the test.

After a tiring day of auditions the judges must deliberate and select the nine potential correspondents that will compete for the title.

So that was really interesting.

It was. A lot of good ones, actually.

A lot good, some not so good

Some not so good. To me, I definitely have my favorite.

You just like the ones who like Britney.

I like them pretty. No, and you just like the one that is like you

I like the ones, I have to be honest, I really like the ones that have got the charisma and personality.

And that I could see outside the door of a fashion week show and ones that can wing it. Ones that have got that confidence that they could go and just be themselves, and make

friends, and get the story, and get some a really, really interesting that's really interesting content

Possible. Really.

She can go.

Here's a good one.

She was good.

She was nicer.

Like I said, I really think a sense of humor and I just think that over confidence doesn't work here.

And I'm sorry. I'm really… I'm all about the knowledge

Yeah.

It's really important to me. The ones that didn't know the designers, for me, in the trash bin

Or the magazines.

Or the magazines, or the blogs definitely potential.

Let's be honest, she does look really good.

She loves the part.

She looks great.

That's definitely a fave.

Yeah

I was, you know what, after her audition, I felt very excited.

Yeah

She looks like a little you.

I don't think so.

She was very beautiful.

She's beautiful and she seems like ahm…she seemed like a really good girl.

Gracious.Yeah, definitely.

And I want a really good girl. I'm a girl's girl. And I want them to be cool and involved in fashion but also nice approach with people that weren't make it fashion snobby

Yeah.

So very long day. We've whittled down from hundreds and hundreds of cool girls, but these are our strongest. Are we all happy?

Yeah, we are happy. Definitely.

So next stop is…

The Church of Fashion. The Church of Fashion

The ominous Church of Fashion will have the ladies vying for the final eight spots for the one-minute trial presentation

They only have 15 minutes to create the 60-second rundown on the topic of their choice.

So, yesterday was a very open brief for the auditions, which has got you here today. But today is all about you.

We want to see and hear your personality to really bring out your different sides.

We got into this derelict church and I was thinking, what on earth are they going to make us do here?

There were some old separate guys outside and I was thinking, are they going to make us go and style the old man that like barbecuing chicken outside

The competition is fast and we are up against big competition but we'll hold on.

We think we've got our own quirky thing going on. So, let it begin.

Yesterday, I went to the casting room and when I walked in, like I was kind of a little bit nervous all of a sudden because there is all these stunning girls.

Each one that more beautiful than the next. I don't think I've really thought ahead about what kind of competition I would have.

At the end of the day, I'm here because I really want this job and like if it comes to get in the close days, so be it.

All around it was positive. So we thought we might get in and then we did.

I think I'm being chosen because maybe I'm quite bubbly, and I'm quite different. I'm quirky. So I think I'm a bit different

I really would love to win this. I'm just going to get head down and just work hard seriously

I'm just like "Oh! So close!" I go, "I had a little taste of it and I just want more."

So, I came in and I saw all these girls

dressed very differently. Everyone have their own unique style. And I just felt like there's a real eclectic group of people in this room.

I didn't really speak to Rebecca that much just because we didn't have very much in common.

So I found it difficult to talk to her.

I was quite nervous because, you know, obviously you see the other girls and they're all sitting around and you start to kind of maybe feel

about a competition and criticize people up. As all the reality TV shows goes, I am here to win it and I would love to win it.

I think the competition is quite fair. So I think we each have strong point, but

I think I've got what it takes to win this. I hope I do. And I do believe I do because if I didn't, I wouldn't have applied.

Stay tuned and find out which eight ladies move on to the next round of the competition.

I definitely got my favorites.

So do I.

So it's a bit like, "oohhh."

Are we sure about these guys?

Yes, definitely. Yes, we're sure.

Let's get the girls back in.

So congratulation girls.

So today's challenge is you have 15 minutes to prepare a one-minute presentation on anything you want. You'll be presenting to me and the judges,

as well as, of course, the Fashion One audience.

Let's start our first challenge and our presentations with Rebecca.

When you're ready.

Hello, my name is Rebecca. And today I'm going to talk to you about our fashion style that is sweeping a nation by storm. It has come across the pond, in the pond.

I'm going to talk to you about the leads of fashion

Today, I wanted to talk to you about the influence that film has on fashion, and we all know that fashion came first.

But it's also important to look at the resources on where this has come from. So for example the great Gatsby,

which is coming out at Christmas is explosions of ribbons, and bows, and full of fur come in to my head.

I loved Esther's movie and the fashion. I thought a really good idea and maybe I should've done that.

So, forget all shades, forget browns and blacks. We're talking gold, bronze,

beautiful edgy lace that going to shoos every single outfit of.

Now, the peplum has been in style since way back in the 1940's. First made an appearance in Vogue in 1947.

She's kind of intimidating in a way. And so it's a bit like, "oohh…"

And our top tip number two is, don't always be drown in by the really expensive looking charity Topshop

Sometimes the ones that smell like pee or a bit dirty inside are the ones where you can find real bargains.

Today we have an exclusive interview with some of the best names in the business.

I'm here at the backstage part. Oh my God, I can't believe I messed out. Can I start again?

I think she should've just carried on and not to start again because I think,

you know, she sat down and said, "I want to do again" it looked a bit different.

I'm going to see who has fashion sense and who is complete fashion nonsense.

Did I still have more time?

Hi guys, it's your Fashion One friends Steph's scoop. Over the past couple of days,

I don't know about you but the weather has been making me feel very animalistic and very out warm with nature.

And I'm not the only one, as Burberry and Armani have sent models strutting down the catwalk in tribal inspired fashion now

And I've made this bow especially for today, everyone. I couldn't find anything in the shops and I just thought,

"Why not make it?" Be a bit creative. So I did that and also I have my fat heels on, which are really comfortable and it's really in fashion at the moment as well.

So, I just thought, perfect. Nice outfit.

OK, that's lovely. I'm going to stop you there. That's one minute.

Thank you.

Girls, thank you very much for your one-minute presentations. That's the first challenge done.

The judges are now going to deliberate and then one of you will be going home.

So, what do we think about the girls?

Some really good, some not that good

I definitely got my favorites.

So do I.

Still they might have changed since yesterday.

Really?

A little bit. Intelligent fashion country. So, for me it's really important that this girl is

smart because there's nothing worse than watching a bimbo on the red carpet delivering lines that

are not, you know, backed by any substance.

She's funky, she's cute and she delivered really well.

Her legs are amazing.

Yeah. Great hair.

I think she's just incredibly charming.

That was a really disappointing.

She is so beautiful. Yeah.

Like you cannot flaw her. I would watch her in a silent movie any day.

They seemed very attached as a unit as well and they're talking over each other. That's driving me mental.

Depending on what happens. Yeah.

We're going to have to see them work separately at some point.

I don't think they will. Are we sure about this, guys?

Yes, I'm sure. Yes, definitely.

Let's get the girls back in.

Hi girls! Welcome back. So now I would like the following girls to step forward.

Rebecca

Heidi

Roberta

and Alice.

Now there are four of you in front of us, one of you has won the first challenge, potentially.

One of you will be going home. Rebecca, we deliberated and we thought your presentation was excellent today.

Thank you Rebecca, if you would like, sit down.

So this leaves the three of you ladies.

Let's start with Roberta.

Roberta, we're really disappointed. Your presentation didn't quite make a minute mark.

It felt a bit rushed and I felt like you were panicked. I thought you could've composed yourself and then

take it from there.

I mean these things happen and you do have to think from the spot as a Fashion One Correspondent.

And next is, Heidi and Alice, the twins

Now I'm worried about the dynamic of the two of you.

I didn't how you could be on the carpet together, working together, knowing when one is going to speak and it's all a bit fell on.

I don't know if there's something you could figure out in this competition or not.

I love your synergy. I think you bounced off each other really, really well.

But at the same time you both kind of do out speak each other.

Very cute. The only worry is you might become bit hyper in some way. So you need to like, relax a bit.

For now I'm going to say the name of the girl who is no longer going to be in this competition.

Roberta,

I'm afraid you're no longer in the competition. If you'd like to leave, through the door.

I know that I'm not good in stressful situations. But then it's been good because I've thrown myself in there.

And I know what to expect. So I'll possibly do it again in the future.

Heidi and Alice, you are still in the competition, if you'd like to sit down with the other girls.

So congratulations girls! So, expect the unexpected and the three of us will see you here at the Church of Fashion.

Next time on Fashion One Correspondent Search London, the contestants struggle to show off their sex appeal, then get a bit tipsy before the elimination challenge.
