Waching daily Oct 1 2017

Super exciting.. it's like Christmas in Steve's kitchen today, I've got myself a

new toy in the kitchen and I want to announce a new series. We used to do a

Smoothie Tuesday series. it was heaps of fun. I ran it for about a year maybe a

year and a half a couple of years back. I'm going to start a new healthy smoothie

series. When we left Australia I gave a lot of my equipment away to my kids and

so we've been looking for a new blender. Now I do need to make a full disclosure

statement here because a lot of you know I'm a big Breville fan my last blender

was Breville, a lot of our equipment here we've unboxed in the past has also been

Breville but this particular blender Breville sent out to me, so they've given

it to me for this new series and we're going to test it. So I just want you to know

about that. Now look at this we have the Breville boss blender, they call it The

Boss because it's the top of their range, but look at the box

I love the Breville boxes, they're gorgeous, has sort of plummy color, really

high-quality, got that sort of Apple quality feeling to the packaging. So how

do you make frozen desserts from fresh, nut butters, milled flours, soy milks, hot

soups and of course green smoothies. Now what else can I tell you from the

outside... oh it has a 2,200 watt high powered and high torque motor, OneTouch

programming, a 2 litre dishwasher safe jug, which is BPA free of course and a 7

year limited warranty, so that's pretty good. I need to get this open, let's get

the the lid off, got a few of their other appliances on here, got to get my hands

on some of these. We have a warranty bits and pieces there, I won't go through that.

What is this here, looks like we've got a book as well, a little cookbook all

cellophane wrapped here. I'll open that and take a look in a moment. I'm going to

pop this on the floor so I can get it out. Here we go, it's all foam wrapped,

which way up does this thing go. I can see the big jug, now this is the 2 litre

jug here and the main body of the unit is at the bottom. Now in the side here

this particular model comes.... wow that is really hefty. This is a pusher to put

the... sort of pound things down and something else here

it's a blade, it's like a fairly heavy looking silicon blade, the lid of course.

Okay so it's got the usual removable center column and it's got this sort of

ring pull on it as well. Now this is the main unit, this feels solid and heavy.

This is a powerful 2200 watt motor with OneTouch functions. Now my model of

course has come with a beautiful ozzie plug on it. These are available worldwide

I think every plug combination, I will leave some links down below so that you

can check them out maybe on Amazon if you want to. I should try and have a chat

with Breville to see if I can get some sort of discount code for subscribers, if

I do find something I'll put it down in the description. One of the things I love

about the Breville is this sort of bowl spherical base that it has and I always

think if you're whisking something up you use a Bowl you don't use a square bucket

or a vase to mix it in and that's one of the beauties, it's also got this very

unusual blade inside. It's got a I think they call it a pro kinetix, so the bottom

blade is going around the side or the bowl at the bottom and then they've got

two other blades or three other blades should I say, sticking up at different

angles which will help blend the produce inside. Now that pretty much is about it.

We've got this nice snug fitting rubberized top, keep all the juices in if

you're doing blending. Now this is something new this wasn't with my other

blender it's got a pusher, so you can get in there if you've got some awkward

little bits you can sort of move this around and I think that's a welcome

addition to to my last blender. It is a BPA Free, very sturdy BPA-free vase or

glass. My last one was actually made of glass and I quite liked that but I'll

see how we get on with this BPA free, this is really sturdy so I'm really well

equipped. Now I know that on the box there it had a green smoothie

I'm going to check out the the blending book that came with this and let's see

if we can't knock ourselves up a really nice green smoothie to give this a test

but don't forget we're going to be doing a whole new series of healthy smoothies,

every Tuesday on Steve's kitchen for the foreseeable future and this is a way of

me detoxing getting a bit healthier. So if you want to join me on that journey

you'll be seeing a whole series of really delicious smoothies on Tuesday in

Steve's kitchen so get used to the waistcoat, I think you're going to be seeing

it quite a lot. Now I was really excited by the picture on the front of the box,

it's not in the recipe book, so we're just going to call this a healthy green

smoothie. I can see it's got cucumber, celery, there's some grapes, almonds

avocado and kale. So it's going to taste pretty good. Now talking about

almonds, there's a recipe in the book for almond milk. So I think I might make that

my first project before we start the smoothies. So join me in a couple of days

on the first Tuesday and we're going to make Almond Milk, let's see what fresh

almond milk tastes like. In the meantime we're going to make ourselves a healthy

green smoothie. So we're really just winging this, I've got some cucumber, I'm

going to take maybe four slices of cucumber, pop that into my

freshly-cleaned jug. Now we've got celery or so I'm just going to roughly chop this

up. Doesn't need to be too tiny. Now we want a little bit of ice in there so

I've got some some ice, we'll start with a little bit in the bottom. Some grapes

to sweeten it. I'm just going to pop some of these in it hmm lovely and sweet

probably about half a cup of seedless grapes. Let's take a handful of almonds.

I got myself a little Avocado oh I hope it's fairly ripe yep it feels okay, just

going to put the knife around, give it a little twist open. Now

the avocado yeah it's fairly ripe actually, that's beautiful. So I'm just

going to put that piece in there too, get the pip out of the center, so both sides of

the avocado into our blender and some beautiful rich in iron and minerals, kale.

Pop that in the top, a few more Almonds because I can, a little bit of ice on top.

Now I'm going to guess we need a splash of water, I'm not going to put too much in

maybe a couple of tablespoons, pop the lid on nice and tight. Now I haven't used

this blender before we just turn the power on

it's got pulse ice crush, smoothies, green smoothies, frozen desserts and soup. It's

also got an auto clean I see there. Of course we're going to go with the green

smoothie and let it do all the work for us.

Well that's neat it's done it all for me, I didn't even need the stick to knock

anything down. We use this little pull handle here to take off the stick, that

looks beautiful and smooth. So my very first green smoothie with The Boss, the

Breville Boss let's pour that into a glass. Man that looks silky smooth, I'd love to

hear your thoughts down below because I really need this healthy smoothie series

in my life right now, we're eating a lot of really rich food. Looking forward to

giving this a try. So it's smooth it's silky here goes oh wow that is silky

silky smooth, it's quite sweet it's so delicious. Now I'm going to be looking at

ways we can sort of beef this up to make it a breakfast smoothie, change the

colors, change the textures, change the flavors. I'd love to hear anyone who

wants to comment down below sharing across any recipes and don't forget

share the love, give this the thumbs up and we'll see you for a whole new

smoothie series coming shortly to Steve's kitchen. Big THANK YOU to

Breville for The Boss, at the moment, we will see, if it's good, if it's not, we're

going to put it through the works. Be good, see you next time. Now it also has auto

clean on here and I've just had a quick look up apparently a couple of cups of

water, about five hundred mils, a drop of soap and this will clean itself. So

let's give it a try and by the way that green smoothie was so so good. So let's

give it a go. We've got two two cups of water one they, two slightly warm

water seems to be best, just a drop of detergent no more than that. Now I've

left the lid dirty as well we'll see how it goes, pop the lid on nice and tight.

Let's see what this baby does.

Now it did a really good job, it's pushing it right up into the lid as well

but I think I left too much green smoothie in there to be honest because

although it's given it quite a good clean, the water is filthy. I should

probably just rinsed it out first, I'm going to give it another go once I've given

this a rinse and see how it comes out. Okay I've rinsed that out a little bit

we're going to put the water in again, tiny dash of soap. Let's give it another

go and that is it. Yes I think a little bit of a rinse would help the top is

beautiful and clean. So it's a nice little feature, you can just pop that on

at the end. Leave it to do its own thing, give this

soap a little rinse out, pop it on the side and you're ready to go. Now I

decided to give it a clean water rinse as well just to finish it off

and that's just to make sure there's no soap in it. It's ready for the next

episode of Steve's Kitchen smoothie Tuesday, see you then

Hi. Today I will show you how to make chrysanthemum out of ribbon.

Detailed list of all needed items is in the description of this video.

Cut the strips out of ribbon. 1.2cm x 8cm.

Also, cut shorter strips. 1.2cm x 6cm.

Fold a strip in a half.

Fold the first end downwards and the second end upwards.

Fold both ends together.

Fold the bottom sides to the middle.

Burn the edge...

...and press it (to glue it).

Make more petals in the same way.

We need about 60 big petals and 40 small petals.

Cut a strip out of ribbon. 3.8cm x 6cm.

Cut a shape of leaf.

Fold it in a half...

...and burn an edge.

Make a few incisions on the edges of leaf.

Slightly burn the edges.

Make a few leaves in the same way.

Cut a styrofoam ball in a half.

Glue a row of petals to the bottom of styrofoam.

Next, glue a row to the top of styrofoam.

Glue the petals close to each other.

Make more rows of petals on top of styrofoam.

Now, glue the petals to the bottom of styrofoam.

Make one row out of big petals,...

...and the other rows out of small petals.

Fill all the empty spaces by using small petals.

Wrap a wooden skewer by using green ribbon.

Make a hole in styrofoam.

ITALY VS USA | STUDYING ENGINEERING [ENG CC] - Duration: 11:56.

Ciao y'all! Naturally Kenya here, and today, I'm going to be talking about what it is

like to study engineering in the US versus Italy... Okay. Honestly. I don't need

these. I have contacts on, but I was trying to make geek effect... nerd effect...

you know... Because every engineer is in a nerd, right? Sure... Ciao y'all!

NaturallyKenya here, and welcome back to my channel. Make sure to subscribe to my

channel if you haven't already. Today is going to be a fun video, because I am

talking about what it's like to study engineering in the US, where I'm from

versus Italy. As some of you may or may not know, I actually moved to Italy last

year to complete my master's degree, but I have my bachelor's degree in the U.S.

in Civil Engineering. That's a little bit about me, but I'm gonna go into a few

pointers of what it's like in the U.S. vs Italy. Number one is the format. For

example, in the U.S. if you do a bachelor's degree it is four years and in Italy the

bachelors is three years, plus the two years that you will do for your master's

degree. So in total it will be five years. Whereas, in the U.S. if you did a master's

and a bachelor's degree, it would be a total of six years. So, the calendar and

exam schedule is definitely a lot different than the U.S. here in Italy,

because in the U.S. generally the semester is fourteen or fifteen weeks long and

following that, you have an exam period... and following that, I mean three-

four- or five days later you'll start taking your exams for your four or five

classes, and the thing that's most different here is that you have

approximately two months or even three months to take these exams whereas in

the U.S. you have your 15 weeks plus three or four days of nothing, plus holiday days --

but they're "technically" not holiday days, because you have to study-- and then it's followed by

a few days of exams. Maybe two weeks or

ten days where you have to take all of your exams in that time period.

Here in Italy, I have noticed that the semester varies between 13 or 14 weeks

and then you have months to take the exams. For example, the fall semester in

the U.S. will be from the last week of August to the first or second week of

December, and then you have your two weeks or so of exams. Here, I have

classes from the end of September to around the middle/end of December

before Christmas holidays, with a period of two or three weeks break, and

then you have the option to take those two exams in January and February of the

following year, but also you have a summer session that you can take those

exams in, as well. Which I will go into more detail later in the video about. So,

to summarize, the semester in the U.S. is a bit longer by two weeks, but the time

you have to take your exams is minimal, up to approximately ten days. Where in

Italy, it's 13 or 14 weeks of the semester and you have two months + to

take your exams in that time period. In terms of admission, in the U.S. there were

a lot of things that I had to submit going from high school into University.

For example, the application fee, there was an essay, you had to obviously submit

your transcripts, there was an option to submit your resume as well, a letter of

recommendation, your SAT or ACT scores, like the list goes on and on. But for

example, here in Italy, at least in my case, I know there's different

specifications or degrees that have a limited number of entrances available,

but I just had to send my (for my master's degree), I had to send my high

school transcript and my university transcript and a passport photo and that

was it. So it wasn't like I had to do brain surgery. There were no letters of

recommendation - nothing like that for me to study here in Italy. So the process

was much faster in that sense. So you didn't have to prepare documents and

documents and have a lot of different effort, but like I said before this may

just vary between universities in Italy. So don't get happy thinking that you

might be in the same situation as I was. It could very well be quite

different. Oh, the fun topic! The money part. The tuition costs and fees... When you

compare the U.S. to Italy this is probably the most different topic. I'm

actually going to be comparing the school that I went to in the U.S. to

Italy. So, for example, if I wanted to do a master's degree in the U.S. my tuition for

the year will be approximately twelve thousand dollars. Here it is! That is a

full-time schedule and it calculates

only the tuition. That's not food, that's not water, that's not housing, that's

not breathing, that's not living, that's not socializing, that's not walking down

the street- well... okay. That could be walking down the street, as long as you

don't have to take a bus or drive your car. You're good. That would be free. It's

essentially twelve thousand one hundred and forty six dollars a year.

I actually took it upon myself to convert that into euros, so you can see that

that's one year. Here in Italy, the tuition actually varies depending on if

you choose a public or a private school. It can be anywhere from five hundred

euros from people from developing countries, to up to maybe four or five

thousand euros. But, I mean, if you go to a public university, I think it would bury

anywhere between one thousand euros and maybe three thousand. I know that it

definitely varies based on your personal income and your university. And

supposedly there are scholarships available. There are Italian government

scholarships available. The United States was not on the eligible countries list,

so I wasn't that lucky. There are definitely opportunities available for

people coming from different countries. You really just have to do your research

and look into it. Because, generally, it's not that organized. Oh, the good one! This is

also a good one. Homework, which just seems so different here. So in university

in the U.S. for some of my classes, we would have to take assignments,

do the exercises and they will be do the following class. So, if this was a Monday-

Wednesday-Friday class, you'll be assigned Monday exercises, they would be due

Wednesday. You would be assigned exercises Wednesday and then they would be due Friday and so

on. Friday-Monday, Monday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Friday so on and so on.

Here, it's not necessarily like that. It's your responsibility to pick up all the

information in class. The only homework I've had so far are group projects and

that's not necessarily a homework assignment because it generally goes

over the entire semester. So, it's not like tonight you have to do THIS tonight,

it's due tomorrow. It's not like that at all at least not in the situations that

I have been in I would definitely say in the U.S. there's a lot more homework.

There are a lot more projects at least for a my a master's degree there will be

more projects I'm assuming in the U.S. There's just a lot more I guess you

could say independent work in the U.S.

So, let's talk about exams. Earlier, I mentioned how we have approximately 10

days to take all the four or five exams of a full-time semester, where in Italy

there are different exams for different dates. So, for example, if I'm taking four

or five classes and the semester ends, I have different exam dates available to

take the exam for each class. Which is also very important, because the exam

format in Italy is a lot different than it is in the U.S. specifically in the U.S.

you have one try. That means if you destroy the exam... I don't know anyone

that's that was able to redo a final exam... you essentially have one, try that's

it, and it's a written exam usually or it could be a presentation or project and

that percentage of the final exam really depends on how many exams were in the

class earlier in the semester. So if there's like a first exam or a midterm

for 20% and second exam was 20% and the rest is homework and participation and

then you get to the final exam that could be 30%, but here in Italy the exams

are a lot different than what I'm used to in the U.S. This is probably the most

difficult part of Italian University in my opinion. I know that Italian students

have taken oral exams almost their whole lives, but for people coming from other

countries it may not be the normal thing to do. For me, that's not a normal

thing to do. You definitely have to know of the theory, all of the formulas for

some classes. It's really honestly much more mentally exhausting than the exams

in the US were. The professor can ask you anything he or she wants and you have to

be able to describe that in detail. At the end of everything, I really think

that I'm going to become a better engineer for these oral exams, just

because we don't necessarily have that place for you to formally present your

ideas and topics immediately. Like, you have to think and answer the

question in two seconds. I guess it's a skill that I think everyone should have.

It is something that's definitely growing on me I definitely don't think

even after the two years in the master's program I will be completely an expert

in it because it is still new for me, but I just like to try my best

anytime I have one of these exams. The grade scale. For example, in Italy you are

graded on a thirty point scale. You have... well... I don't want to say unlimited tries.

You have more than one try. I think you could even have up to five, six, seven

eight tries, whatever the program allows you to have, just for passing one class.

Of course you don't want to use five or eight tries to pass a class, but the

opportunity is there. Whereas in the US you have one try and that's all, so it's

like hit-or-miss. In the U.S. there is a 4.0 scale for university. Actually, I'm

going to put the scale here. This is the university scale that's used by my

university in Texas. You have a thirty point scale here in Italy and I think... 18

is passing. I'm going to put exactly what the Italian system in the U.S. system

and how they align here, just for a little bit of a comparison. At the end of

your entire master's program, you're actually graded on the classwork and the

thesis for your final mark. And last but not least, the resources and

support. This is very different from me being a student from the U.S. and coming

to Italy, because it's very different in the U.S. Professors will allow you to

have open office hours Monday-Wednesday- Friday from noon to 2 p.m. or by

appointment, but it seems like here in Italy a lot of the time, if you

needed help to meet with your professor you would actually have to do it by

appointment. The time limit of office hours are very small. They're not... I guess...

published as readily as they are in the U.S. Also in the U.S., with your tuition

fees you actually get certain services. I remember there was a gym or if

you needed counseling services, certain things like that those were all free and

included with the tuition... Mmm... I say free, but I mean I hardly think $12,000 means

you know it's free...you know that's not really free. So guys, that is the overview

of what studying engineering is like in the U.S. versus Italy. There are definitely

a lot of differences- not necessarily be positive or negative- but just it's just

different. You know? If you have any questions or comments leave them for me

down below. Make sure to like this video, if I helped you in any way. Make sure to

subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and I will see you in the next

one. Ciao y'all!

How do you prepare for a game? w/ Robben, Rafinha & Coman | How To...? - Duration: 1:43.

I think it's very important that you are constantly focused on a game.

The preparation for a match is always important.

I always try to prepare as best as possible and I believe it is important to already go through

some game scenarios in your head.

Before a game, I speak to my mum.

Since I was a child, I always spoke to my mum before a game.

I call her and chat to her a little, then everything is ok and I stay calm.

I always have a cold shower before a game – it refreshes my body.

But above all, I think it's important that you are always look forward

to every training and match.

Always try to improve!

I always try to do the same things.

I think that it brings good luck.

That's my ritual.

I always try to listen to the same music.

Right boot first, then left.

The first shin pad goes right, then left.

In the bus on the way to the stadium, or before a game, I listen to music in order to get me pumped.

It depends a lot on my mood what music I listen to.

When you are play in the Allianz Arena and have an important game, you must always try

to deliver your best,

and to go into the game full of conviction and confidence.

But the most important thing is that I speak to my mum before a game.

That's something that is very important for me.
