I want you to propose like Stephen Colbert | Note to Self - Duration: 2:34.

I'm home.

So remember how Schlomo has been

"working from home" all week?

Today he comes in at 10:30 and -

Ryan, do you want to marry me?

What?

Do you want to marry me?

Why are you asking me this?

Because I just watched this video with Stephen Colbert

and he's like explaining how he met his wife.

He was dating this woman, Anne,

for a long time and were like dating and they were like

'oh, maybe we should get married'.

And he was like, "I don't know" so he went home

to talk to his mom about it, and then he gets there

and his mom is like, "ok, so like, do you want to marry her?"

And he's like, "I don't know" and she's like,

"That's not good enough."

Ok.

Ok so, they break it off.

And then he's like just single, and he's still at his parents',

like, hometown, and he goes to this play

and he sees this woman in this black linen dress

and he's like, "her, I'm going to marry her."

And he does and that's his wife now.

Right.

So, do you want to marry me?

Oh come on.

Ryan, do you or do you not want to marry me?

Rakhee, I don't know!

THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

What, so we're over because I can't decide

whether I want to get married right now?

That story is from a different time period.

Is it?

We basically live together, we eat together,

we're both "of an age," Ryan, do you or do you not

want to marry me?

Fine. Ok, yeah, let's do it!

Let's get married!

What?

Rakhee Davida Popat, will you marry me?

I don't know.

You don't know?

No, I don't know!

What do you mean you don't know?

I don't know!

But from that story you said "that's not good enough"!

Yeah, but can't we just keep doing this

and like not think about that?

Yes, absolutely, please!

You brought it up!

No. No, it wasn't me, it was Facebook,

it was Stephen Colbert!

Ok, can we drop it? Ok.

I'm hungry, you want some cereal?

Yeah.

Can I have some coconut milk? -Coconut milk, yeah.

Can you put a little almond milk?

Splash of almond milk, yeah.

[sighs]

Love you. -Love you. -Love you.

-Love you.

Recipe Refresh - BBQ Chicken Wrapped Asparagus - Duration: 8:52.

there it is is clicking what's going on guys and welcome back to the fit men

cook kitchen so today's video is actually pretty fun my friends from

Listerine sent me this really cool little care package to celebrate how far

I've come as a creator here it is so because Listerine bold Refresh Punk

there's a letter or something in here oh that's clever

the letters in here hey Kevin Congrats on making it to your fourth year on

YouTube at Listerine we're all about celebrating the people that put

themselves out there and take a chance at changing the game you friend are a

total inspiration appreciate that yeah it's really nice so now that you've

logged like a boss we'd love to see how you take one of your very first videos

to the next level by giving it a bold refresh we know you're up for and ideas

are probably already raking through your head but here's some swag to get you

started from your inaugural year of course go forth and be bold that's what

you do and it says BBQ sucks fire it up meathead you demand anyone that knows me

knows that I love kicks and funky sucks oh these are pretty nice and dope ah

and they sent me these now I understand why and a timer I don't even have one of

these you're gonna suck it'll do or something and then a brush so when they

pitched the idea to me I said you know what would be really cool is if I go

back and look at one of my very first popular recipes in social media not just

on YouTube but just in general and it was BBQ chicken wrapped asparagus hey

here we go

well the answer is meal prep meal prep is what you do whenever you cook all

your meals on one day of the week and you freeze them all and then you

unfreeze them throughout the week as you need them so today I'm going to show you

a really easy way to make some barbecue chicken wrapped asparagus grab a pin you

can find out what you need today I'm gonna be using this Rubbermaid

Tupperware because it's BPA free and it also has these two removable inside

containers to help separate your food okay so I got a deposit right there this

first off I didn't know what zoom was so I only had just this one DSLR camera

with this lens and so I didn't know how to focus and I remember having to put up

a broomstick with a hat focus it and then run around again to

where it was and so it was right in my face because hey if it's focused right

in out that's all I have and I couldn't watch myself either so I had to make

sure that it was right I did not like being in front of the camera at this

point it was really uncomfortable for me I I enjoyed it more and more but I

remember at this time how embarrassed I was I didn't know how to film myself

cooking live I actually tried to film a video live one it was so terrible that I

just said you know what let's just take off the sound and then just put in some

really cool music so I did that and people really liked the fact that the

focus was always on the food so it was a really accidental thing to actually

happen and it's done it stuck today and meal prep is still relevant it's really

cool to watch this and think about where I am now

because I'm writing a book about meal prep I'm actually pretty proud of myself

with this so today we are going to be making a bold raspberry chipotle BBQ

sauce from scratch then we're gonna put that onto some chicken wrap that around

some asparagus and then toss it on the grill yes this is an official barbecue

recipe because we're gonna fire up the grill today

it is clucking let's get started guys now the star of this barbecue sauce are

these beautiful Texas sized raspberries another taste of Texas is the Chipotle

so we've got some chipotle peppers in adobo sauce to run off the ingredients

we've got some olive oil garlic red on you we got some cumin this is werster

Shire sauce some liquid smoke some coconut sugar apple cider vinegar and

this is air we've starch air we start is gonna act as a thickener and then of

course you'll need some chicken and some beautiful asparagus all right guys

first thing we're going to do to a hot skillet we're gonna add in our olive oil

and then add in some garlic now we do want the skillet hot but you don't want

the garlic to burn and then some red onion and what we're doing here is just

to flavor the oil we're also going to caramelize the red onion alright so this

is just about ready so what I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna add in the human here

and this is going to become very very fragrant

so I'm gonna bloom the spices right now like cooking it with the onions and the

garlic and the oil now we're gonna add in the star of this dish

our beautiful Texas sized raspberries and you don't have to do too much here

because the heat what's gonna happen to him it's going to cause it in the soften

and begin to explode let's add in some liquid smoke

Worcestershire apple cider vinegar coconut sugar now here is the most

important part this is adding in the Chipotle Chipotle tis to be very spice I

like to add in about three tablespoons or so pick one of the chipotle peppers

and just put it inside of the sauce all right now for the final ingredient now

you can tell from the texture of this that it's already pretty thick this is

gonna make it even thicker so this is arrowroot starch we're gonna add about a

tablespoon and stir it up immediately and arrowroot starch is activated under

heat so as soon as it touches something that's hot then it begins to act as it

agent I love the fact this raspberry sauce has a lot of texture I've got the

seeds from the raspberry alright so the next thing we're gonna do is prep the

chicken I'm gonna Pat them dry these are pretty thick pieces of chicken breast so

what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna slice them in half because they're easier to

roll up and to wrap around the asparagus lightly pound them a little bit to

flatten them out then the final step here is we're going to lightly season

these with a little bit of pepper now it's time to marinate our chicken

breasts this is the step that I did not do in the first video which is to

marinate the chicken breasts so just add it in a chicken breast a little chicken

chunks my head to of the sauce that's enough get out all over the air from the

bag we're gonna marinate this in the fridge you can make this overnight but

at least do it for one hour so the chicken has been marinating so we'll

take one chicken breast at about three or four pieces of asparagus I like to

start at the at the big side because I want the skinnier side to be able to

flap over so we've got one final step before these bad boys are ready to go on

the grill it is completely optional but it is recommended and that is since

these are going to be on the grill we want to cover the tips of the asparagus

in foil so that way they won't burn don't burn the tips these are officially

grew already these can cook for about 15 minutes at a temperature of around 300

degrees so we're gonna cook them first with a flap side down so that way they

are sealed cook that for about eight minutes then I'm gonna flip them over if

we're going to baste them and cook them for another eight minutes just make sure

that they are completely cooked all right

that is it for today's video guys I hope that you all enjoyed it I want to first

thank my friends over at Listerine for the idea to do a recipe refresh often

times we have tunnel vision because we are really focused on our goal and

that's the only thing that we can see at the moment and we don't take time

oftentimes to stop and to celebrate the incremental success along the way so

whether that's putting up an old picture of yourself and looking at that putting

on some old clothes just whatever it is I want you to do that make this recipe

because you are going to love it now until next time I want to thank you

for watching keep it healthy but of course what never ever boring boom bye

[Eng Sub] My Dear Loser รักไม่เอาถ่าน | ตอน Edge of 17 | EP.9 [4/5] | ตอนจบ - Duration: 11:47.

In,

are you thirsty?

Let me go by some drinks.

Okay, I go with you.

No, you can stay right here.

I'll go get it for you.

Okay?

Stay right there.

Don't go anywhere.

Sun...

What are you doing here?

Ainam called me to meet her here.

You didn't come to the tutoring.

Do you really want to avoid me that much?

An air con cleaning service

came to my house today.

So my aunt asked me to stay home.

You think too much.

I thought your boyfriend

told you to avoid me.

Who do you mean?

P'Ken.

Are you crazy?

I didn't go out with him.

Who would have known?

I saw you got a present from him.

That plush toy.

What about you and Ainam?

Any progress?

If there's a progress,

she wouldn't go home

without me like this.

When I confessed that day,

she told me it would be better

to be just friends.

Yes,

it's indeed better to stay as friends.

My mom asked me about you.

She asked why you didn't come to our place.

Honestly,

You do know what I think about you.

Um.

If it's not going to be possible,

you better let me go my way.

But I still want to have you

with me like before.

But it hurts.

What kind of relationship

are we supposed to have?

We don't need to specify it.

All I know is that I want to be with you.

I don't mind what kind of relationship it is.

That's not it.

One day if you meet someone you like

you will find it difficult then

Don't bring that up just yet.

I'm already too confused.

I just know that I'm happy

when I'm with you.

And you are happy.

That's enough.

But we need to specify

the relationship sooner or later.

When that time comes,

we can think about that again.

Okay?

What?

Are we going to date for real?

Whatever.

Are you serious?

Yeah.

Isn't it too easy?

You are so…

Well, when people are dating

they must flirt with each other.

Well…

I never flirt someone like...

someone like you.

Like you.

It's the same.

Just try.

I didn't even succeed

when I hit on a girl.

Do you want that tree?

Come on.

You gotta be kidding me, In.

Is that your approach?

What?

I thought you wanted one.

That tree is almost dead too.

You seriously need to water it now.

Is this the best you can do?

Have you already begun to flirt me?

Okay, what do you want to eat?

You already know what I like to eat.

Ramen,

Tonkotsu Ramen.

Let's go buy T-shirts.

I will wear a couple T-Shirts with you.

Also shorts.

Look,

I still wear the watches we bought together.

There are also bracelets

and sneakers we have the same.

I might as well go buy

the same underwear you have.

I let you choose.

Whatever you want me to have.

Just choose.

That's way too much.

Hey, take it easy, girl.

What?

This is the first time

I get to have this since the break.

I don't have anyone to come here with.

Come on.

Eat it.

Or else I finish it all.

Okay.

Let's dig in.

Here's the mango.

No, I don't like mangoes.

All right.

I wanna eat it.

How was it?

Good, right?

I told you so.

What's the deal with you guys?

So you two are official now?

Did I miss something?

What's wrong with you, Oh.

You two are dating now, right?

Just eat this.

So you don't go back to Chiangmai now?

Well, I told my mom that

I wanted to spend my time here first.

And I already told her that

I stay over at In's place.

She said Okay.

I see.

You don't even go to your own home.

What is the term they call you?

Arkin, the sleep over boy?

So you are officially move in

with your boyfriend?

What about you?

You've been disappearing from us.

I thought you were dead already.

Dead, my ass.

I'm still alive.

You know what?

I already got a spot at the bounce association.

Are you serious?

I'm happy for you.

How cool.

Way to go, man.

Don't forget to come watch me

at the competition.

I will ask Peach

to come with us too.

Yeah,

his sweetheart.

I don't think she wants to come.

Why?

I thought you two had reconciled.

No, she probably hates me a lot.

You think too much.

Come on.

You could get it wrong.

Eat this.

More.

Let me.

Have this consolation pancake.

Three things at the same time.

Thanks a lot.

Peach,

so you quit all the social accounts,

Facebook and IG?

Yes, I'm fed up with those.

I don't want to know or see anything.

Let me have a peaceful life for some.

Peach,

are you really mad at Oh?

Actually,

I'm not mad at him anymore.

What?

Then, why don't you talk to him?

I don't know what to talk.

I'm still afraid of

talking to someone on the Internet.

We can't know if they are catfish or not.

But now you know.

Listen,

Oh...

may be a clumsy boy.

But he really likes you, you know?

Hold on.

Why are you so strongly rooting for him?

I just want to show you what best for you.

Oh paid you to come to me, right?

Yes, 500 baht.

I knew it.

Kidding!

Can I have this picture?

Sure.

Cute.

Oh is cute in that pic?

I'm not gonna tell you.

I can give you 10 more of Oh pictures.

Do you want?

However,

I'm still a loser no matter what.

Be confident in yourself.

Learn to appreciate your self-worth.

THE WALKING DEAD TELLTALE - EP II : ... - with Karboom - Duration: 14:50.

Hey everyone, Karboom here!

Welcome on this second episode of the Walking Dead Telltale

So last time we escaped our first zombies, litteraly...

And so... We're might be not on the first day of the apocalypse... buuuuuut....

still pretty much at the beginning

unlike the Tv Show were we start like... a good month after the apocalypse

so I won't keep you waiting, let's get back

to where we were, right after the barricade in the small neighbourhood

So... Not ideal but still some progress

looks like the ladder is gone here...

There might be someone

I think I had a sound bug here... He shouted for help in two different ways...

It's no superpower, just a bug...

doesn't matter...

So... just...

Anyway... Still no answer for now...

Maybe there's people in the house

A little help would be appreciated

Maybe it wasn't really smart to open it...

Well I think it's all right...

I mean...

If there was something inside... He would have reacted to the...

knocking on the window.

It's locked?!

Well I AM kind of an intruder, but...

Ah... Well first the kitchen... wooooh...

That's not good

It's fresh blood..

Not good at all..

Ah wait... Water!

I remember I was thirsty

Well if I can find the other one, it can prove itself useful

So there would be a child and a babysitter supposedly

That's okay... I avoided the blood pool

Answering machine

Clementine then...

Oh... shit...

Clementine...

I'm gonna avoid to ask the first question...

No... no I don't want to talk about her parents. I can already guess what happened

Ah crap...

She's cute...

*fighting grunts*

Shit, shit, shit!

*fighting grunts*

*grunts*

Fuck this...

Shit!

*fighting grunts*

Hammer... hammer!

*fighting grunts*

Hi Sandra!

*sighs*

Oh fuck...

Night seems more dangerous than day... so I'll say

First option...

Still not the best but...

Not being alone anymore is appreciated

If only to have someone to talk to...

Holy cow...

Well... I take everything that's not zombies... honestly...

Anyway, they're not zombies. I take my chance...

For now...

Hmm... Touchy subject...

Yeah... Anyway...

We'll say they won't come back around for a long time...

Oooh Atlanta...

It's vague enough and it's not really a lie

My car crashed not far from here...

Quick!

Ah crap...

Thanks for the help!

First a child that helps and doesn't spend her life crying, it's really appreciated rather than...

what I could have found in place of Clementine...

Nice...

Hello!

Well it's all right, it's better than nothing...

She's so cute!

Well... I think we'll stop here for this episode just before the...

The healing period we'll call it...

So I'll see you on episode 3... Things are getting better regarding...

where we were last time...

So I say goodbye and see you soon for episode 3

Ciao!

How to Sew a Waist Cincher Belt - Duration: 6:48.

The waist cincher belt is a versatile accessory that can be used for many styles of costumes

including modern, historical, and fantasy. It's easy to design your own pattern and

create it.

For supplies, I'll be using a quarter yard for my main fabric, lining fabric and midweight

fusible interfacing. For my main fabric, I'm using a faux suede and the lining I'm using

a cotton fabric but you can use other types that you feel are more suitable for your costume.

I'll also be utilizing a package of plastic boning, 2 yards of 3/8" ribbon, 20, 1/4"

eyelets, plus the eyelet anvil and setter, 2 tab closures with buckle, and all purpose

thread.

For tools, I'll be using my sewing machine, iron, pins and needles, pattern paper, pencil,

straight ruler, flexible tape measure, fabric marker, sewing gauge, fabric glue and hammer.

First, we'll take some measurements. Measure the small of your back from side to side.

Then do the front abdomen side to side.

Next, we'll draft some simple patterns on our paper. We'll draft the back pattern

first. Take your back measurement and divide it in half. Mine was originally 15" so I'll

draw a line that's 7 ½" in length.

Decide on the height of the belt. I'm going to say mine is 4 ½". To this, I'm going

to add 1" for seam allowance. So on each end of my first line, I'll draw a perpendicular

line up that's 5 ½".

Then close the top, and you'll end up with a rectangular pattern. This will be my back

pattern, it'll be cut on the fold and from it I'll need to cut 1 out of my main fabric,

1 from my lining and 1 from my fusible interfacing.

Now we can move on to the front pattern pieces. Again, I'll take my front abdomen body measurement

and divide it in half and draw a line that length.

On one side, I want it to be the same height as the back so I'll draw my perpendicular

line that's 5 ½". I want the front center of the belt to have a little more height.

So on the other side, I'll draw a perpendicular line that's 7".

At the top of each line, I'll draw a squared line that is half an inch, then connect the

two ends by drawing a straight line.

Then I'll divide the pattern in half by creating a dashed line which in turn creates

a center front piece and side front piece. I added a half inch seam allowance to each

piece at the dashed line. I'm not adding further seam allowance to any other side because

the buckle tab and side ribbons will naturally create a little bit of ease.

Place the center front and side front patterns, on each of your folded fabrics. This will

give you 2 from the main fabric, lining, and fusible interfacing when you cut them out.

Apply fusible interfacing to all your lining pieces. The bubble side of the interfacing

should go to the wrong side of the lining. Place a damp press cloth over it and apply

a hot iron for about 5 seconds for each section.

For the main fabric, pin the center front to the side front, right side to right side.

Do this for for the lining pieces as well.

Stitch a ½" seam allowance at your sewing machine and then press the seams open.

Cut two lengths of your plastic boning that's the length of your seam. Remove the boning

from the casing.

Center the casing on the pressed open seam of the main fabric and pin in place.

Stitch on the edge of each side of the casing.

On the bottom of each casing, baste at a ⅝" seam allowance.

Next take the boning and shorten it by 1 ¼", then carefully round each end.

Return the boning to each casing till it hits that basting stitch making sure the curve

of the boning is going up towards you. Baste as close as you can to the top of boning which

will make sure the boning won't end up in the seam allowance.

Match up each lining piece with the corresponding main piece. They should be placed, right sides

together and pinned all the way around. Put a pair of X'd pins, about 4" apart to

leave an opening. Sew a ½" seam allowance starting at one X and then stop when you get

to the second X. Don't forget to backstitch.

When you finish, trim the seams and cut off the corners.

Turn each section right side out and press.

I need to sew my opening closed. The opening which we flipped everything right side out.

So I folded it under so its all on the inside there

And then I pinned it so I can do a slip titch.

I'm using a hand needle and thread.

And I'm starting on one side here the cream side. I'm going to grab a little bit

Of the brown side.

You can see I'm pulling it

My needle right along the edge and just grabbing a little bit. And now I'm going to go back to the other side.

And grab a little bit of that fabric on the folded edge.

And then go back to this side, so I'm just going to go back and forth until I've done it for the full length of the opening

At your sewing machine, edge stitch around the perimeter of each piece, close to the

edge. Be careful not to stitch through the boning as that might break your needle.

Place your buckles on the center front. The top buckle is 1 ½" down from the top and

the bottom buckle is 1 ½" up from the bottom. Use a little bit of fabric glue on the buckle

to hold it in place.

I'm going to hand stitch the buckle on by stitching through the existing stitch lines.

As an alternative, you could just add more fabric glue.

Lastly, we need to add our eyelets to the side seams. I will use five eyelets on each

end of the side front and the belt back. Each eyelet will be a ¼" from the edge and evenly

spaced. Use your fabric marker to mark the center.

Carefully, with your scissors, begin to cut both layers of the fabric where your mark

is. Cut away only enough to fit the center of the eyelet through.

The eyelet is made up of two parts. If you look at the underside, one center is smaller

than the other. The smaller center goes through the hole from the right side to the wrong

side. Place it on top of the anvil so you're looking at the wrong side of the belt. Then

take the other side of the eyelet, the one with the wider center and place it on top.

The setter goes on top and then hammer it until the eyelet pieces are locked in place.

Repeat for all the other eyelets.

The only thing left to do is to weave your ribbon by criss-crossing it through the eyelets

and tie a bow at the end.

Try on your belt and you can tighten or loosen the ribbons or buckles as necessary for a

comfortable fit. Now you have a new addition to your costume.

remember anything you particularly like from that. Anyway the new series is going

to be all about healthy smoothies so for the foreseeable future we're going to be

doing some delicious healthy smoothies every Tuesday on Steve's kitchen. Now

occasionally I will be doing unhealthy smoothies they'll be featured on other

days and towards the end of this video I'm going to give some general tips about

smoothie making but today we're going to be using those beautiful berries the

blueberries and the raspberries the brain food to make this delicious berry

green smoothie so come on let's get going.

So for this berry green smoothie

we're going to be using blueberries I've actually got fresh ones here but I

prefer frozen blueberries they just make a better smoothie. I've got some frozen

raspberries, a nice ripe banana, a couple of tablespoons of oatmeal, that's just to

sort of thicken and add some carbohydrates into there. Now this is

actually a cup of spinach I've piled it up high but if you can imagine, push that

down into the cup .We are going to sweeten it with a little bit of

delicious honey and I'll be using an unsweetened almond milk as our carrier.

Now I've got a ripe banana here, now the riper the better, these are actually

quite sweet so I'm happy with that. Don't need to cut them up, just break them up

into our blender, half a cup of frozen raspberries, half a cup of frozen

blueberries, a couple of tablespoons of oatmeal. Now use the flat oatmeal and in

goes our cup of beautiful soft spinach. Now for sweetener I'm using

honey, you could use agave syrup, I want to keep this fairly healthy and lastly for

our liquid, I've got half a cup of almond milk. Pop the lid on nice and tight. Now I'm

using the green smoothie setting, you just want to turn it on to whatever your

high setting is and off we go.

Now that's really blitz that up beautifully. Now isn't there always a

little bit of honey left in the tablespoon, what I think I might do here

is just take it off with my finger, I want to coat the edge of my glass, so I'm

just going to run that round the edge of the glass. Now I've got some lovely

granola here, just going to dip that in. We'll be covering this in a moment by

the way, just to get that lovely ring around the glass. Now we'll take that

berry green smoothie and we're just going to pour it into the glass, now hopefully

I've done it so there's enough for Michelle and I. Somebody got short

measures there and it ain't going to be me. I'm just going to pop a couple of

blueberries on the top just to further decorate this. Now you might think why

did I edge it with the granola there is some method to my madness because I love it,

I'm like a kid, I love that sort of crummy sweetness around the edge of

my glass. Now I'm going to give this a go and let you know how it tastes Bon

Appétit. oh wow...wow wow wow, the raspberries are really quite tart actually, very very

delicious. They come through quite strong and obviously I've got those blueberries

in there as well, give this a little...I've taken some photographs so it's

set a little firm give this a little bit of a swirl, that is so delicious. So I hope

you're going to enjoy these Steve's kitchen smoothie Tuesday's, we've got

lots planned and it's a good way to get a little bit of healthy goodness into

our lives, after all I've been eating a lot of rich food of late. Now a couple of

tips if you decide that you're going to start making smoothies on a regular

basis, if you want to take a simple fruit smoothie and turn it into a breakfast

smoothie, something a bit more like a meal that will release carbohydrates

into your system throughout the day, just take about half a cup of oatmeal, add it

to your smoothie with some nuts and it will change a simple fruit smoothie into

a most delicious wholesome meal and the other tip if you want to make this

granola for the edge of your glass here's how. Now sometimes I want to dip

the glass in a little bit of fine granola, so I

thought in this first episode I'd show you how we make it and we can refer back

to it if you want to in later episodes. Start with a pan on a medium heat and

we're just going to take half a cup of flat oats and because I like it I've

got quarter of a cup of shredded coconut as well. Just pop that into the pan give

it a little mix through, next take a tablespoon of honey add that into the

pan and then we want to toast these ingredients over. Let the honey coat over

them for a little bit of sweetness and I want to get all the ingredients a nice

toasty Brown. So you can see just after a minute or so we've got this beautiful

gold granola. I want to let this cool down a little bit and then we're just

going to blitz it up to a fine powder. Now when that cools down you've got this

lovely crunchy granola and I'm just going to blitz this up a little bit, I want

a slightly fine granola and we're just going to blitz this a few times until I

get the consistency I want and then when it's as I want it I'm just going to pour it

into a little Tupperware to store it and then you see I can use this over and

over again, dip the glass in, get a lovely little granola edge to the glass when I

want it as you see in this video. So that's about all for this week, I hope

you've enjoyed it, hit that share button, share the love, like the video and I will

see you very shortly, take care. 😎

The Sexuality of Christ - Duration: 11:47.

We all know these iconic Renaissance representations of the Madonna and Child.

These images are so familiar to us we don't even notice anymore

a yet curious detail:

The systematic nudity of Christ

with a recurrent emphasis on the Child's genitalia.

Most Art Historians explain this curious feature

by Renaissance's artists interest in naturalism

and lifelike depictions of human beings.

But is it the only explanation for such an unusual dramatization of nudity?

In 1983, a controversial essay by American art critic Leo Steinberg

cast a new light on the subject.

The hundreds of Renaissance works revealing the Infant's body

may not find their roots in mere imitation of actual babies

but in much deeper theological concerns.

Together, let's investigate The Sexuality of Christ.

You don't have to go far in the Bible to find mention of Nudity.

In the 2nd chapter of Genesis, God creates Adam (the original man)

and put him in the Garden of Eden.

Then, God makes Eve (the original woman) from Adam's rib

so Adam is not alone.

The two are described as "both naked and not ashamed"

wandering unclothed, just like other creatures.

The rest of the story's known as The Fall.

Tempted by the snake/devil, Eve eats the forbidden fruit

and shares it with her mate.

Modesty - and clothing - is the first of the dramatic consequences of The Fall.

And because all humans descend from Adam & Eve

we all inherited this same need to cover our "shameful parts".

To redeem mankind from the weight of Adam's guilt

God decides to send His Son on Earth.

The Holy Spirit impregnates the Virgin Mary

who 9 months later gives birth to a child:

Jesus Christ, Son of God.

The mystery of God's "enfleshment" is named the Incarnation.

Literally: "to make into flesh".

"Truly God and truly man"

the dual nature of Christ wasn't an easy subject to deal with for early Christians.

Anyone could believe there once was "a man of excellent wisdom"

named Jesus, somewhere in Judae.

But it was much harder to convince Jews, Pagans or Heretics

this very same man was actually God.

Thus, theologians and artists were emphatic about the divine part of Jesus.

The Child looked less like an actual baby

than like a tiny grown-up, with the face of an old man

blessing people like a sovereign.

A symbolic way to figure the Wisdom of God.

The mystery of Incarnation gained in importance through the ages.

But in a firmly christianized Europe

the divine nature of Christ was no longer subject to debate.

In the mid-XIIIth Century

Franciscan piety put the stress on the human nature of Christ

using the following motto: "Naked to follow the naked Christ".

This new theological paradigm soon impacted Christian Art.

While former representations of the Christ Child

focused on the higher part of the body, symbolizing the divine nature

XIIIth Century artists started revealing the Infant's lower limbs

showing his uncovered legs or replacing his robes with a transparent cloth.

By the XVth Century, the representation of the Infant's body

had evolved into a choreographed withdrawal of garments.

Deliberate...

or... "accidental".

The motif became more insistent through the years

eventually moving toward total nudity.

Yet it remains to ask why so many of these paintings

pay a special attention to the Child's genitalia.

Phallus (the male sexual member)

is a common object of worship in numerous religions

where it signifies power and fertility.

But the attention given to the Infant Jesus' penis in Renaissance Art

is of a very different kind.

The Child's genitalia serves as a synecdoche

for Christ's human nature taken as a whole.

In the representations of The Adoration of the Magi

it is frequent to see one of the Kings gazing at the Infant's genitals

as if to make sure the Son of God is "complete in all the parts of a man".

Christ's self-exposure is the pledge of his full humanity

dispelling mistrust forever.

Likewise, the iconic type of the Maria Lactans

shows the Infant sucking at his mother's breast

eyeing the viewer as if to call attention.

Again, showing the nursling subject to hunger

assured the believer Christ's body was dependent on food

and hence fully human.

In this 1543 painting by Flemish artist Jan Van Hemessen

Mary even seems to press her child's flesh

as a palpable proof of the Incarnation.

Sometimes, in a movement of maternal tenderness

the mother shields her son's frailest member with her hand.

Far from the aggressive virility of pagan phallus

Baby Jesus' genitalia symbolizes God's assumption

to human weakness and everlasting chastity.

Moreover, the nudity of Christ echoes the doctrine of Original Sin.

For as the first effect of Paradise lost was the punishment of modesty

transmitted across generations via sexual reproduction

such shame couldn't concern the Son of God

Virgin born of a Virgin.

Thus, the Infant frequently adopts immodest postures

so as to signify He's the new Adam, delivered from sin and shame.

The Redeemer, freeing human nature from the contagion of guilt

and reconciling nudity with innocence.

Beside the emblematic representations of the Madonna

the Baby's genitalia plays a central role in a specific chapter of Christ's childhood.

On the 8th day following the Nativity, the Child was circumcised.

Submitting himself to the Jewish Law

Jesus set an outstanding exemple of obedience.

But, seen through a theological perspective

the Circumcision of Christ bears a deeper signification.

For the first time, Christ made gift of his blood

prefiguring the sacrifice of the Passion

and initiating the Redemption (the salvation of mankind).

A process that will ultimately ends

on the Cross.

Being familiar with the nudity of Baby Jesus

one may be surprised to find the crucified Christ

systematically covered with a type of loincloth

known as Perizonium.

In the Roman Empire, crucifixion was reserved to slaves and lower classes.

It was a cruel and gruesome punishment

meant to dissuade rebellion against the authorities.

Nudity was a part of this staged humiliation.

Thus, the condemned were stripped naked before being put on the cross.

Deference due to the Son of God might be one of the reasons why

Christian artists very rarely dared to depict Jesus' genitals

when representing Christ's baptism or crucifixion.

However, this trivial explanation shouldn't dim

the theological motives behind the pattern.

From conception to death

the whole life of Jesus Christ is a model of perpetual virginity.

His covered loins are a reminder of this willed abstinence.

However, by renouncing human sexuality

the Son of God didn't forsake any idea of procreation.

While the ostentation of the Child's genitalia symbolized the Incarnation

in the images of the Infant Jesus

paintings of the Crucifixion dramatize another ambiguous detail:

The bleeding wound in Christ's side.

The fertility of Christ doesn't lie on genital reproduction

but on a higher type of conception, where blood acts as semen.

The Church, symbolized by the Virgin Mary

is the spiritual Bride of Christ

born from Jesus' rib, just like Eve was from Adam's.

Defying the laws of Physics

the Holy Blood draws a symbolic hyphen between Crucifixion and Circumcision.

In the joining of Christ's first and last wounds

the Passion is brought to perfection.

In such an elaborate symbolic system

painters found a place for one last stunning detail.

Sometimes, the blood drips further down the Cross

ending its course...

on Adam's skull.

From Adam's fault to Christ's sacrifice

From Creation to Passion

From Alpha to Omega

The whole story of Redemption here comes to an end.

Or as one may say:

"It is finished".

How Game Designers Protect Players From Themselves | Game Maker's Toolkit - Duration: 11:52.

SID MEIER: One of the responsibilities I think we have as designers is to protect the player…

from themselves

Whenever a designer makes a game, they'll have certain ideas for what would be the most

enjoyable or interesting way for a player to approach things.

For example, Jake Solomon reckons that XCOM is at its best when the player is taking risks.

He told Rock Paper Shotgun: "Risks are what lead to loss and what lead to triumph".

But players will often have other ideas, because many will simply gravitate towards strategies

that will most likely lead to success - regardless of how enjoyable those strategies might actually

be - so they grind, they use repetitive tactics, and they play slowly and cautiously.

As Civilization 4 designer Soren Johnson puts it, "given the opportunity, players will

optimise the fun out of a game".

He was talking more about exploits, but I think the quote still works.

And this is kinda what happened in XCOM: players rarely took risks, because why would you?

Instead, they found much more success when they moved slowly, played cautiously, and

overused the overwatch ability - meaning they often ended up playing each mission in largely

the same, risk-averse way.

But the awesome thing about design is that the game's developers can tweak things,

to make sure players approach the game in the way they think would be most interesting.

The question is - what's the best way to do this?

The most obvious answer would be to add some kind of system that will stop the

unwanted behaviour from occurring.

And that's what exactly Firaxis did when it decided to introduce turn-limits to standard

missions in XCOM 2.

Many of the game's missions will have some kind of time limit - hack the network in 8

turns, destroy the relay in 6 turns, extract the VIP in 12 turns.

And if you don't finish that objective within the turn limit, the mission is failed.

And this means that inching slowly across the map like in XCOM 1 is now massively discouraged,

and the player is forced to move more quickly and take more risks.

A very similar thing happened in the making of Spelunky.

Creator Derek Yu says "I never intended Spelunky players to collect every piece of

treasure, get every item, or explore every room each time they play.

Instead, I wanted to force them to make difficult decisions and experience both the satisfaction

of choosing correctly and the regret of choosing poorly."

So, he added the deadly ghost enemy which appears at about two and a half minutes into

every level to put pressure on the player and discourage them from dawdling around.

Now both of these decisions had the intended effect - but they were also both met with

some amount of controversy.

Spelunky less so - that's a long time to spend in one level.

Besides, the ghost doesn't actually kill you. You can still run away and finish the stage.

But many XCOM 2 players hated the turn limits,

and even made mods to rip them out of the game.

"I didn't expect people to have such a strong reaction to the timers," says Solomon.

And turn limits were greatly reduced in the game's expansion, War of the Chosen.

So, what went wrong?

Well, there's a bunch of things.

Many people simply just enjoyed playing cautiously in the first game, and expected to do so in

the sequel.

And Solomon suggests that "maybe there's a clumsy thematic wrapper on the turn-timer".

But one thing is clear: some players will always react negatively to punishment.

And, in XCOM 2, the fact that refusing to speed up and take risks will see you fail

the mission at hand, means that these players felt that the game was punishing them for

playing in a certain way.

And there's a famous story about World of Warcraft - which I've never played so excuse

me if I screw this up - but in the story, Blizzard didn't want people to play the

game for too long - so they introduced a system in the beta where the longer you played, the

fewer experience points you'd get for killing monsters and whatnot.

But players hated it.

They hated seeing the numbers going down.

It felt like a punishment for playing the game.

So Blizzard did something pretty clever: they flipped the system on its head.

Now, players can build up a rest bonus whenever they're not playing the game, and then get

an experience points boost when they next log in.

It's essentially the same numbers, says Blizzard, but making it a reward rather than

a penalty made it much more agreeable to fans.

So, it's often better to encourage the behaviour you want, than discourage the behaviour you don't.

Instead of punishing a player who is too slow, reward a player who finishes the level quickly.

And there are loads of good ways to encourage player behaviour.

It starts with the fundamental, moment-to-moment gameplay, where designers can tweak the game's

most basic mechanics to push players towards a certain style of play.

Take the latest DOOM, where the designers wanted to promote an aggressive sort of "push

forward combat".

One way id Software achieved this was through the glory kill mechanic which provided plenty

of compelling reasons to close in on your foes, instead of running away and firing from

a safe distance.

This move instantly kills an enemy, it doesn't use any ammunition, and it showers the player

with useful health pick-ups.

And so, despite years of FPS games training players to run away and hide behind cover,

in DOOM, players spend much of the game racing headfirst towards demons.

Likewise, Bloodborne encouraged players to be more aggressive than they were in Dark

Souls by adding the rally mechanic which lets you recover health if you strike an enemy

within a few seconds of taking damage.

Players are less likely to back off and wait for an opening if they have a chance to win

back some health with a quick, aggressive attack.

Other examples of this sort of immediate encouragement might include the

Burnout games, where you gather much-needed boost by doing all sorts

of fun things like driving close to other cars and racing into oncoming traffic.

You've gotta drive dangerously to win.

And Hyper Light Drifter, where the only way to recharge your gun is to slash bad guys

with your sword, encouraging you to get up close and personal with enemies.

Encouragement can also be baked into more abstract, overarching systems like scores.

In most character action games, you can finish the stage even if you're pretty sloppy and

rely on the same few tactics for the whole game.

But you'll end up with a crappy grade at the end of the level.

To get a better grade, you need to play in the way that the designers intended.

So, for a game like Devil May Cry which is all about being stylish, you'll get better

grades - plus, some handy items - if you use varied and more difficult attacks, and use

your guns to keep the combo ticking along.

Likewise, Tony Hawk's makes you connect up different tricks to keep your combo going,

and will give fewer points each time you repeat a move.

In all of these games, the only way to get a high score is to play in the most stylish

and interesting way possible, and to use the full extent of the game's mechanics.

Rewards like experience points and achievements can also be used for this purpose, because

the designer gets to choose exactly what sort of activities or challenges the player must

do to earn those points, and can tailor this to reward players for taking actions that

fit the game's intended experience.

GRAYSON HUNT: Ooh, son of a mother. Tech is wild. This cocky leash is grading my performance.

Now, this is not to say that games should never discourage, punish, or penalise people.

This will always have a place in games.

But for those games that do focus on negative enforcement, they should be wary of pushing the

slider from discouraging a playstyle, to practically forcing you not to use it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but playing fast in XCOM 2's timed missions is not just the

best way to play - but, basically, the only way to play.

Because forcing a very specific playstyle is difficult to pull off.

I'm sure we've all played stealth games where getting spotted by enemies leads to

instant failure.

And sure, this makes you play in a stealthy, ninja-like manner, and doesn't allow you

to just Rambo your way through the game with superior fire power, but it's also annoying,

and it gets rid of exciting moments like where you get spotted but manage to escape and go

back into hiding.

So the goal is not necessarily to shut down tactics that can lead to uninteresting playstyles.

For example, if players are spending too much time hiding safely behind cover in a shooter,

when you'd prefer them to run around the battlefield, you don't have to remove cover entirely.

It's more often about keeping this stuff as a valid tactic for certain situations - but

tweaking them so the player will not abuse or completely rely on them.

So, you can discourage players from abusing cover by having enemies throw in grenades

or having cover break over time.

Or you could encourage players to stay out of cover by giving them points for fighting

out in the open.

And to go back to the stealth example, there are better ways to encourage stealthy play

than just insta-failing players who get spotted.

You could discourage direct attacks by making the player very weak.

In the Arkham games, Batman is useless against enemies with guns, so punching the crap out

of guards during the stealth bits is a bad tactic, but you can stay alive long enough

to grapple hook your way back to safety.

Or you could encourage stealth by using the scoring systems mentioned earlier.

In Hitman, the only way to get a high score, or finish many of the challenges like Silent

Assassin, is to play in the most sneaky way possible.

Never get seen, hide the bodies, delete the camera recordings, and so on.

Or, one less obvious way to tackle it, is to make players more aware that direct attacks

are not the focus of the game.

With Mark of the Ninja, lead designer Nels Anderson said that the game originally had

an in-depth combat system with different stances and parries and whatnot, but this level of

depth signalled to the player that direct combat was may more important than it actually was.

By reducing the combat to something much more simple, players now understood that direct

attacks were not point.

Anderson explained this on the podcast Designer Notes,

NELS ANDERSON: People would try to sneak, they would fail, and then they'd just Rambo

through the rest of the level.

It's like: okay, we just need to pair this down, get rid of as much of it as possible,

make it really simple.

And once we just kept pairing it down to, the amount of presence it had in the design

was about proportional to how important we thought it should be, that's when it sat

about right.

So, designers should know how they want players to approach their game.

Perhaps stylishly, or stealthily, or while taking risks, or using the full extent of

the mechanics, or just feeling like a demon murdering machine.

Whatever they think is most fun, or interesting, or thematically relevant.

But if a player can reach their goals - from microscopic targets like "get health"

or "defeat an enemy", to longer-term goals like "reach the end of the level" or "earn

a new skill point" - if players can reach those goals more easily through ways that

don't match that intention, and are actually pretty boring, then the game might have a problem.

Locking off that easier route is certainly one way of going about it, but forcing players

to meet your vision and punishing them for playing otherwise, is fraught with difficulty.

And so while I personally understand and even appreciate XCOM 2's turn timers in the broad

strokes, I'm not surprised that they were met with controversy.

So, it's often better to encourage and incentivise a player to see the game in the best possible light.

To allow for other playstyle, but give rewards, high scores, easy kills, and handy resources

when the player is meeting that intended experience.

Now, please, this is definitely not as easy as I'm making it sound.

There are plenty of pitfalls to think about and some of the most controversial and disliked

mechanics are those that were initially designed to encourage or discourage a certain way of playing.

But when used really well, this type of design can subtly push a player towards having the

best possible experience, and, like Sid says, protect players... from themselves.

Hey, thanks for watching!

I hope you found this one interesting.

I love seeing all the differnet ways that designers try to encourage and discourage different

behaviours, and it's fascinating to see how successful they end up being.

I'd love to hear your examples from games you've played.

Or games you've made, if you're a designer.

3 Most Effective Leg Exercises for Football Players! - Duration: 8:52.

Hey everyone and welcome to a new video!

Today I have Joonas and Jope from Ristiote with me.

The guys have a 3 exercise leg workout for me.

Yeah, we have three exercises that are great especially for football players.

You can improve your strength and balance with these exercises.

This video is helpful for many of you. Look and listen closely.

One exercise is done with additional weights and two others by using your bodyweight.

You can do this workout at the pitch, but also at the gym.

You can use additional weights when doing any of these exercises.

Sounds good! Let's start sweating.

Are we close enough now? -Yeah that's good.

Bulgarian squat. 6 x 6-12 reps.

The first exercise is...?

One leg squat, also called as bulgarian squat.

Let's check it out. We are going abroad right away.

Put your leg on the bench.

You can step a bit further.

The knee shouldn't cross your toe line too much.

It can slightly cross it, but make sure it doesn't go too far.

So I should dip in a straight line? -Yes.

Push your knee a little bit to the side as you go down, so you activate the buttock.

Good straight posture. And now up.

About 90 degree angle.

You can make the exercise more effective by pushing the hip a bit forward.

It helps the buttock active better.

Huge calves.

Steady. And up.

The focus should be on the heel.

This challenges your balance.

As you can see.

Great exercise especially for football players, because the buttock and the muscles in the knee are working.

Very good for the sport.

Well champion. How did I do?

Very developable and a bit unsteady, but that's okay.

That's why we're doing this.

What are the most important things to remember when doing this?

So everyone will do this properly.

First, keep your upper body as straight as you can.

Make the whole movement as long as possible. All the way to the 90 degree angle.

Also push your knee a little bit to the side so it doesn't go inwards as you go down.

Keep these in mind. Moving on to the next one!

Sissy squat. 3 x 6-12 reps.

Sissy squat? -Yeah. Weird name, effective exercise.

Now we'll see what it looks like.

About shoulder width stance.

Should the toes point forward? -Yeah.

Toes pointing forward or a little bit outwards.

Not inwards.

Shoulder width? Then it would look like this.

Yeah in your case... that's true.

Back to reality.

When you go down, the hip angle should be zero.

The line from the knee to the shoulder should be straight.

Don't twist your body.

Either front or back? Yeah, straight line.

Move your knees towards the ground. The focus stays on the ball.

A little stop and then up.

It's very difficult to stay in balance.

Additional resistance.

A little stop and up.

Feeling the pump already?

I have to say, that wasn't an easy exercise.

Tried it for the first time. I've never even heard about the sissy squat before.

Is there a way how to make it easier at first?

Definitely. We did the most difficult version.

You can hold on to something to get some support

from a Barcelona scarf for example.

Thanks for watching, thumbs up if you enjoyed. These guys won't be on my channel ever again.

What other points could you tell?

One thing when doing the sissy squat is to keep your heels up.

The focus is on the ball.

And the hip angle should be zero.

Straight line from the knee to the shoulder.

So the hip isn't bent.

Straight line.

Push your knees to the front.

When moving up, keep the same zero angle, so the hip won't bend.

Then the exercise goes to thighs and the vmo.

To vmo, that's what I would've said too.

This challenges your balance. Go try this.

I should also start doing this.

We chose this exercise, because it improves your balance, mobility, strength and body control.

What else do you need? -That's all you need.

Hip raise. 3 x 6-12 reps.

The last one is the hip raise, right?

Yes and today we are doing it with a bar.

You can do this with any resistance or weight. With a bar or dumbbells. It's up to you.

Hips don't lie. Show us.

The easiest way is to take the bar and stand up straight.

Then sit down.

Then take a hold on the bench and go to the lifting position.

Put your upper back on the bench.

About shoulder width stance. Knees pointing slightly outwards.

From here, you lift your hip up.

Hip raise, like that.

Try to get a good tension.

Only your heels should be on the ground.

Back down and another rep.

I can feel it in the buttock right away.

The hamstrings and the back in a straight line.

Toes up and now go down slowly.

And up sharply.

And up.

Try to get a good tension to the buttock.

Imagine that you're holding a nut there.

Are you sure there isn't a nut?

You never know what you're holding there.

Knees a little bit more outwards.

Down from there.

And up. Full tension when up.

Up.

Remember to keep the knees pointed a bit outwards.

You can make this more effective by holding the weights here for a moment with full tension.

I'm feeling it.

This is one of the best exercises for the buttock.

You can use big weights.

And it's easy to control the movement.

This is a safe exercise to do.

You can do this anywhere.

Against a rock for example or anything you can come up with.

You can also lay on the ground.

If you don't have weights, try to do this with one leg when laying on the ground.

The name of the exercise wasn't nut cracker, I'm still holding it.

How did I do?

It wen't very well. As we said, this is quite easy exercise to do.

Still very effective. -Yeah, it feels right away.

It's difficult to get an injury when doing this.

Just keep your back straight and your head in the same line with the spine.

Then you'll be good.

I recommend you to try this. This was my favourite of these three exercises.

This might be considered as a girls' exercise, but believe it or not, men also need the buttock muscles.

Especially football players.

It's one of the most important muscles in your body.

Yeah, don't this this is a girls' exercise. All the guys, I recommend you to try this.

Well, Ilari, how are you feeling?

All good. I just noticed the pump. Thanks guys.

If you want me to make more videos with these guys, give this video a thumbs up.

How to Draw Straight Hair - Very Easy Way - Narrated - Duration: 3:23.

Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of tutorial!

I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today we will draw straight hair.

Before we actually draw, I will make some indentations in the paper.

This mechanical pencil has no expose lead at the moment

and therefore, I´m just lightly scratching the paper with its metal tip.

These lines that I am making will be little hairs that will

stay white, once I shade the rest.

Ok, good!

Now with an HB lead, which is a medium softness

I begin making lines, like this.

In this case from the bottom up, because the lower part will be darker

so I press more at the bottom and I go lighter as I come up.

Al right!

You may change direction if you want, to give it a slight movement.

We shade the upper part following the roundness of the head

and may we vary the pressure to create variations in tone.

To indicate some of the volume of the hair.

We are no trying to do individual hairs, for the most part but

mainly the masses, the volumes.

With our friendly kneaded eraser.

We can create some reflections, specially on this part over here

that maybe catching the most light, of course.

And I switch to a softer 2B lead, to do some of the shadows.

Very good!

¡Excelente!

Now, I will delineate this line over here,

because I will shade the neck

and shoulder areas.

This so that the hair looks more like is in its place.

This is a very simple and effective way of drawing the hair realisticly

… straight hair.

And we are not done yet, we will do a little bit more on the

hair after I finish this… a neck and shoulder.

If you want to divide it a little bit more you can mark some lines, like this

and…

I will also darken the edge here on the back, and pull some hairs

out, down here.

I want to soften this lower edge.

Good!

And finally, let´s draw her a bang.

It will come down like this, the other side of the ear.

I will erase the area with a kneaded eraser, so that I can draw it better.

Like so.

I would love it if in the comments you could let me know,

what do you think about it.

And what else do you like me to draw for you.

It´s ready!

If you enjoyed it please give it a LIKE! share it to your friends, and subscribe

to Fine Art-Tips.

And I will see you, on Tuesday ;)
