I'm going to show you, what's making us scared, and I'm going to
explain the whole situation...
aaand... what did you want to say?" "That, at first, we could answer some
questions from the comments,
eg. Why are we staying here, in Florida?
Why we haven't evacuated yet?"

"I would like to say, that media in the Czech Republic speak
about Florida, as one large state
but the hurricane won't hit whole Florida with 4th stage,
there are some places in Florida,
that are in danger, that are more in danger
and least in danger...
We are on the side of the Florida, that is in lesser danger.
In big danger is South, Miami
and places around it..." "Miami isn't that much in danger now,
hurricane is going to hit Florida Keys, Naples, Tampa,
places on the west like those, it doesn't look that good there."
"And we are at North, so
it still does look like good for us. It's important to notice,
that when the hurricane hits the land, it gets weaker,
so if it comes to Miami in 4th stage,
I'm talking only hypothetical,
that the hurricane will come to us in 3rd or 2nd stage...
"Just because of that we are still chilled,
tell us more reasons, why do we stay..."
"That's right. Next reason is, I don't know, if you've seen
photos from Florida highways, because
there are only two major highways to North
but now I will show you, how do they look like:
"So for us it is still better to stay here
in safety of our concrete house,
because where we live, the complex is built out of concrete, so I think
if the category 4 hurricane came here, and everything around
was destroyed, our complex would remain standing.
That's one of the smaller reasons, why we are staying. We have dogs, too,
so that is next reason, we don't have friends near here,
to where we could eventually go, that's the next reason,
we just don't want to go to some hotel and things like that. But still
it's hard to choose place. It will be the safest choice
to go like 700km from here, but still you can go in vain,
because the hurricane could turn to the ocean
and it won't hit us, soooo..."
"Of course, it's better to be ready than sorry, but
"Yes, that's for sure. But if you watch
some of our videos from the last year, when there was a hurricane Matthew,
that stage 3rd for us" "Yeah, 3rd stage"
"We were really near by the center of the hurricane, and we stayed at home,
and it was not that bad,
we were left without an electricity for only hours,
but it was ok,
we went out in the hurricane,
we were filming some videos, so
if the cat 5 hurricane was approaching us now, we would immediately go,
but because there will be probably cat 3 hurricane,

that has perfectly covered his windows, he has a metal piece
and a clear one.

but the real reason is little bit different.
It's because the wind could bring some flying pieces of palm trees or debris too,
pieces of roofs, pieces of cars,
pieces of people, and things like that,
pieces of alligators with our drone...
btw. if you'll ever meet that alligator,
give us our drone back, please :)
But what I wanted to say is, that the piece of the palm tree
could break the window, you will have pieces of glass in your house,
big problem is, when the window break on the side, where the wind is coming from
The wind is really strong!
And the house then acts like giant bag or balloon...
The house will starts inflating and the roof will come off.
So tip to save your house is
to cover your windows, so the house will become huge
compact shape and it won't get damaged that easily.
That's it!
We are really happy today, because people are more prepared than yesterday,
yeah,
and it's still saturday, there
are 2 days left, but tomorrow we will feel the power of the hurricane
it's going to be interresting tomorrow.
Yes, we can see it yet, but it's still
relativelly OK.

Those people had that not because of the
growing height of the sea,
this wouldn't save them, but they have it, because when
heavilly rains, it won't get under the doors to the house.
So people must do this.
But we normally stack more of them,
we especially,
because we are only 1.3 meters above sea level
and we can get some flooding,
because there was like 0.3m of water in our parking lot last year
if the water rises more, it could approach our door or get in our apartment. So if we stack something like 20-30 cm,
we know if there will be, for example 10 cm of water,
we won't have it in our apartment. So we really need bags with sand.

how it looked last year from the house behind us,
there are some shoots what's going on,
when is really strong hurricane. The dunes can protect us
from the tide, from the water,
but last year dunes were washed away by the sea.
So that happened last year.
Water came here, there was something like
half a meter of water, so they used some pumps to prevent this now
to get the water out of the streets,
so it won't get to the center.
Because they were repairing some normal plumbing
and it isn't done yet. Soo
just because of that...
They're better prepared than last year.

really bad, to show you, that it is today
still ok in here! It just looks like there's some regular storm today...
And it still isn't that big drama.

"So, because we were filming yesterday and we came home really hungry,
and it takes some time to make a meal too,
so I was a little bit nervous.
When I don't have all my biological needs satisfied,
I can be even worse than Hurricane Irma!

"Hurricane is easy!"
"So we made today a little snack!
It always takes Balu a long time to shoot some timelapses,
something like an hour, I'm always nervous..."

"SO, we are finally home, and I told you,

"So, here we have the path,
according to the hurricane center,
actual path,
do you have it?
And this that shape - path,
where the hurricane should go,
this one is from 2am, now's 3am,
so this is the latest forecast.
And yesterday, just before we went filming,
the path looked really different,
it has to go in the center of Florida,
but only in one day it could turn like this, to the west, so that's good,
so, it won't probably hit us that much :)
And if it will still go to the left,
and it will, because there is some high pressure area here,
so it pushes the hurricane to the bay.
So it could probably miss the Tampa,
and this coast,
maybe only Key West will get really hard.
I will show you, here,
I can see the strenght of the hurricane,
by the Cuba it was cat 3,
but it slowed down because of the mountains,
between Cuba and Key West is, I think, the warmest sea in the Carribean,
so the hurricane went from cat 3 to cat 4,
and here it should slow down,
again, and for us, it should be something like cat 1.
But I was scared from this...
this is it...
this isn't wind,
it's pressure. The red is high pressure,
the blue one is low pressure,
and that's what I said. The hurricane
makes the water rise, and how
it has to go in the center of Florida,
it has to rise the ocean here, but here too,
and it has to cut somewhere,
but it will still rise the sea
and it won't have anywhere to go, because
there you have a bay, here's a bay,
so we were expecting,
that it will really rise in here..., but it's going
to the left and it won't probably hit us,
there won't rise water that much,
so it should be good. That's all
the news from me!
