Hey, this is Vashek
and welcome to new episode of SLUSNY NEWS
and lets check out what happened in yoyoing in the past week
so the part of SLUSNY yoyo team went
to German Yoyo Masters in Leipzig
and here is video report from the contest.
Czech players did really well. Michael Malík took 1st place
Tony Šec got second
Petr Kavka won 5A division and got 4rd in X-division
Quentin Godet from France won the whole X-division with an amazing freestyle
Quentin did all his double string tricks and it was really sick.
And the German National Title
has been won by Sebastian Holzkamp from team iYoyo
congratulations to becoming new champion!
And there was one more yoyo contest
USA National Yoyo Contest 2017
which has returned back to Chico, after taking place in LA for couple years
Evan Nagaon won 1st place in the main 1A category
with sick freestyle. Huge congrats Evan, we are happy for you!
I know that Evan really puts a lot into yoyoing nowadays.
So it is definitely well deserved victory.
Gentry Stein took 2nd place
with same routine as Gentry performed at Worlds 2017
I think he hit the routine better this time.
Gentry was US champion for past two years, this time he got silver.
3rd place, new CLYW team member Michael Ferdico
Michael is doing really well this whole season
and getting top 3 in whole USA is just proving Michaels great form.
Really, really, really well played routine in my opinion.
You could also notice that USA has talented young generation of yoyo players coming up
There was quite a few new names and young players in the 1A finals
Hunter and Angelo, both from Shutter Crew
both of them did great and it is cool to see that Gentry's influence is obviously working.
2A category won by Connor Sholten
Alex Hattori won 3A category
Who is 4 times 3A US champion now.
4A category won by Philip White
US champion 3 times in offstring in a row now.
New 5A champion is Josh Yee (sorry for the prononciation bro)
and this time they had also International category at US Nationals
and Luckey Li from Canada won the category.
And in this episode, we also have few videos released, that are worth watching.

who is really creative and added new feature to yoyoing
a RING. Daniel came up with really cool tricks so lets see part of the video.

it is called Yoyo with Blades
a random guy
takes random metal yoyo and attaches 2 blades to it
he spins the yoyo and he cuts stuff with it in slow motion
he cuts sausages, tooth paste and few other things.

I know that most of the players know you, but please introduce yourself.
Ok, I am Tomáš Bubák
I am 24 years old, I study at University of Economics in Prague
I have been playing for 12 years now.
I am more into judging and helping out at the contest at the moment.
But I still really enjoy to play and come up with new tricks.
I still really like it.

So your new signature model just got release by your sponsor
C3 yoyodesign, could you please tell us how was it created?
So, at first I got offer for new signature model
I agreed of course as it is great opportunity.
So we have tried couple designs
I do not have any extreme knowledge in designing yoyos
so C3 offered me couple ways
I told them my requests and wishes. I wanted the yoyo to be based on Apparition.
And I wanted to upgrade couple things.
Such as gap, as I wanted it to be bit wider than before.
So the gap got wider.
The outside part of the yoyo is all new.
And in general it has whole new feel.
I am really happy with it. It fits my style and I think it is great progress from my previous signature.
So after we agreed on the final design
and I still got to choose from 2 prototypes
which differed in weight slightly.
One was lighter, the other one was heavier.
I brought it here to the store
and let people try and hear their opinions.
And in the end I have went with the heavier one.
Your yoyo is called "Robot" why did you named it this way?
Or did C3 named it?
I named it. And I chose this name as word "Robot" is invented by Mr. Čapek
I think it is cool to let the world know that it is a czech word
And I am also Czech so I named it this way.
Ok, got it! Before getting to your tricks.
I have a challenge for you.
Which we can do with Robot.
The most frequent question we got about each yoyo is:
How long can it sleep for?
So I would like to do Sleeper Challenge with you
So both of us will get Robot and we both throw a sleeper
We will see who can spin longer
And at the same time we will let people know how much can this yoyo sleep for.

it not too hard
you start in trapeze, on your throwhand you make a chopstick
throw the yoyo into chopstick, go over right hand
push your elbow into the loop and go under the yoyo
with your left hand
now throw the yoyo front and back while switching your hands
