Hey everybody! Welcome to "On the go with EF".
My name is Kendra and we're in my home town, Boston, otherwise known as "Beantown" or the "Hub".
Have you ever heard of the Boston Tea Party? It wasn't as awesome as it might sound.
It was the beginning of the Revolution,
which was actually the beginning of the United States.
A group of men boarded a ship, kind of like the one over there,
and threw over a lot of tea – about three million dollars' worth in today's currency.
This all happened in 1773 and was the beginning of the U.S.A.
Boston is one of the oldest cities in the country, so it's known for its history.
It's also known for something else: lobster.
So, I figured I'd take you to my favorite restaurant to get some!
Let's go!
Let's get some lobster!
This is my favorite lobster place in Boston.
Some of you might think lobster is something super fancy
and you have to have it in some super fancy restaurant.
But that's not true in Boston. We have it everywhere and this is the best place.
So, here's our lobster.
Nowadays, lobster can be a bit expensive,
but back in colonial days, it was actually a food for the poor.
Let's break this down because I'm hungry.
First, the butter.
Let's set that aside for a moment. Give us some space!
I'm going to start with the claws. Let's break these guys off.
You just twist it and it comes right off. There's stuff in there. Take the other one off.
Good. This is a critical moment.
Here you have the lobster tail and here you have the head.
Some people get inside of the head and eat the brains and what not,
but I'll spare you guys from that.
The most important part is actually this: the tail.
All you have to do is twist, wiggle and try to do this as gracefully as possible.
We do have our bib. Here we go. Lovely lobster meat.
This is what the big bucks go to.
All you have to do is take it, dip it in the butter and it's time to eat.
It's super good.
The tail is my favorite part, but there's also a lot of meat in other parts, like the claws.
I'll show you how to get these open because these are actually a little harder to get open.
You take the claw cracker and put this baby in there and squeeze.
Don't squeeze too hard or you'll squish it.
Here you go! This is not going to make any more trouble.
Don't forget the butter.
Good. That's all!
That was a great start to my Boston trip.
I'm coming back next week, but first I have a little prize.
This little guy. It's a little lobster!
To win it, tell me what your favorite seafood is, if you eat seafood.
Comment below and one of you guys will get this. See you next week!
