10 Habits To Be a More Likable Person

It is easy for people to convince themselves that they don't need to be likable.

The difficult truth is even the biggest introvert needs to be liked by at least one person otherwise,

it's a really lonely world out there.

If you find yourself not being included in work lunches or Friday evening plans, you

may want to do some things that you probably already do more often and with a conscious

thought process to make yourself more likable.

There are certain habits that people who are likable often have.

In our day to day lives usually we see the same people everyday.

There are people we like to be around and others we generally would rather avoid or

not see at all.

You see them coming towards you and you immediately start coming up with ways to avoid having

a conversation with them.

On the flip side, there are people you can't wait to see on a Monday morning to share details

of your weekend because they are just nice people to be around.

These people have really good social skills and they tend to be very likable.

Some of the habits noted below are things you may have noticed about people who are

likable.

They are habits that you may already have but need to do more often.

1.

You are not a know-it-all.

You don't jump into conversations and act like you know everything.

You listen to other people and you ask appropriate questions.

You tend to make people feel good about themselves.

People find themselves gravitating to you for advice or just small talk.

2.

You mind your own business.

You aren't a snob but you generally don't give your input where it is not needed.

It is quite annoying when you have a person in the office who eavesdrop on conversations

and provides their opinions when they aren't invited to do so.

You know when you are needed and when it is a good idea to keep a low profile.

3.

You don't hold grudges.

You let things go especially when the argument is inconsequential.

You have learned over time to be the bigger person which makes you win people's admiration.

People like you because they have a clean slate with you.

You are not a pushover because you let people know what they have crossed the line but you

also don't hold it against them in the long run.

4.

You are patient.

You give people opportunities, room to grow, and space to inherently make mistakes.

You know that everything in life has a learning curve and you give people around you a chance

to grow into themselves.

This makes you more likable because people can trust you.

You are often the person people come to for help around the office if something isn't

working.

You give compliments.

You notice things about people which means you are not self centered.

Often people see you and they smile genuinely because they are happy to see you.

People subconsciously remember you said something nice about them which makes you more likable.

You notice the good things about people.

Sometimes, it is difficult to work with people who have different personalities especially

when they are so different from our own.

You are able to see the good in people and focus more on it than on the bad which has

opened many opportunities for you because you are likable.

You are able to capitalize on the good things and people feel appreciated around you.

7.

You don't jump into conclusions.

There is nothing more annoying than someone who doesn't know all the facts forming an

inappropriate or unfair conclusion.

You take in the details and weigh all the facts.

That way you don't come of as unfair or biased.

People respect you and like you more because you take time to analyze issues before making

premature conclusions.

8.

You are genuine.

It is becoming harder to meet genuine people these days which makes you more likable.

You are not phony and you also don't entertain fake people.

You give constructive criticism and people often come to you when they have an issue

they need to resolve because they know you genuinely care about them.

Once you have built a reputation for being genuine, anything you say or do for them comes

from a good place.

When people need your help they know they can count on you to provide adequate support

without taking all the credit.

9.

You are generous.

You are not stingy with good things.

If you find a discount or deal, you share it with the people around you.

You are the type of person who brings snacks from the places you have been on vacation

to the office.

If there is something you can do to help someone you find a way to extend yourself which makes

people like you.

You help when needed without being overbearing.

10.

You are a confidant.

You can be relied on to keep people's secrets.

You do not betray confidences and people trust you.

You know how sensitive information can be and you are keen to ensure that you don't

let the people that trust you down.

And one of the first tasks left everyone in stitches – apart from Scarlett, maybe.

GETTING READY: Scarlett was keen to take part in Celebrity Juice tasks.

Scarlett Moffatt The challenge involved reclining on a giant photo of Jonathan Ross face, which had been fitted to a wobble board.

I feel like Im sitting on his face, she said, as she readied herself for the klaxon.

She was given a word that she had to describe to her team while being vibrated at ridiculous speeds.

But as soon as it set off, Scarletts head wobbled so hard she couldnt get a single word out.

STRUGGLING: Scarlett failed in the challenge.

Tom, Shaun and Fearne also took turns on it, though not all of them were as unsuccessful as Scarl.

Celebs Go Datings Tom managed to describe his word in seconds, and Fearne did pretty well too.

Shaun didnt seem to understand the rules of the round, as he kept saying the word while trying to describe it.

TAKE POSITION: Scarlett couldnt get her words out.

Scarlett has appeared on a long list of shows since leaving Gogglebox, including Im A Celebrity.

Get Me Out Of Here!, which she won last year.

The Bishop Auckland lass went on to bag hosting gigs on Ant & Decs Saturday Night Takeaway and Streetmate.

DIY no carve pumpkins, Dollar Tree Makeover - Duration: 4:46.

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another Smiling Colors video.

I'm Smitha Katti also known as theshinynest on instagram and in todays video we are DIYing

some no carve pumpkins

I love changing my home decor every season and fall means decorating with pumpkins, so

today I am sharing two ideas of painting them and then doodling or lettering on them.

I love pumpkins but I am hopeless at carving them- so I painted them instead.

You gotta do what you are good at.

Here is what you will need- pumpkins to decorate.

You can buy them at the super market, the craft store or like I did today at Dollar

Tree.

Inexpensive and these are made of foam which is actually great!

While I was at the dollar tree I also picked up some gold glittered nail polish for this

project.

Other than that we will need a few more items- some white acrylic paint, a foam brush and

a black marker.

If you are decorating a large pumpkin you would need a thicker marker.

But thats about it.

This is really fun project, so lets get started.

We will start by applying our acrylic white paint all over the pumpkin.

Always apply thin coats of paint and let the paint dry in between coats.

If you have a spray paint at home, you could simple spray paint these and get it done much

faster.

I have a lot acrylic paint on hand, so I chose to use that.

I chose white color, but really you could paint these pumpkins any color of the rainbow.

I would say you will need about 2 to 3 coats of paint to achieve an even coverage.

Let's start with this pumpkin with the doodling all over.

Using the black marker draw simple flower and leaves shapes.

And just keep repeating this over and over again.

You can doodle anything- leaves, spiders with spider webs or even just draw simple polka

dots or stripes all around.

I think the contrast of the black against the white just looks so modern.

You could also skip the painting, and just doodle all over an orange pumpkin too.

I have used this same marker on a real pumpkin and that surface is super slick so writing

on it might take a bit of practice.

I would suggest you look at your pumpkin, find which is its front and back side- or

the good and bad side- and start doodling on the back or wrong side.

This way you can get a feel of how the pen moves on the pumpkin first and then you can

go decorate the front side.

This foam pumpkin turned out actually pretty awesome.

The foam takes the paint really nicely and the marker moves great on it.

It is very easy to doodle on this and in the end no one easily tell that this is a foam

pumpkin that cost just a dollar.

If you were painting a larger pumpkin, maybe try painting the leaves and flowers with a

black paint instead of a marker.

Thats and idea.

So for my pumpkin, I started with the flowers and leaves, and then I filled in the empty

spaces with smaller flowers and smaller leaves.

Once everything looked good to me, I went in and added more details to the larger leaves.

I LOVE this pumpkin, I had an idea in my mind for this, but it turns out way better.

I also think now that this would look amazing if I doodled with colored markers as well.

Okay now lets do some lettering and I chose the word BOO.

Small word and that means less chances of making a mistake.

Before I letter onto the pumpkin, I just did a rough sketch of what I had in mind.

I highly recommend you do this, because its just a smart idea.

Now on the pumpkin, start in the middle of the word so you can space everything nicely.

You can do faux calligraphy or brush calligraphy on this as well, I chose a simple font and

then I filled in the space with close black lines.

If you do make a mistake, just paint over it, let the paint dry and letter over it again.

Easy fix.

Initially I had planned to paint the stem of the pumpkin gold, put now I kinda like

the green, but I had messed it up while painting the pumpkin white so I went in with some watercolor

and repaired it to be green again.

Then I applied a coat of the gold glitter nail polish on top, this is a clear coat and

so the green kinda shows through it a bit and I like that pop of color.

And that's it!

Our pumpkins are decorated!

Who would believe that these pumpkins are inexpensive?

They look all modern, trendy and really artsy too.

Audrey is an amazing woman who has done so much on an individual level

for the people she's around, and now she's giving back to the world

with this documentary that she's making from her heart

I think that this documentary really is a way to open our eyes

to the way that horses can really be there for all of us

in a way that we perhaps never thought of.

Every image communicates her love of horses but also communicates what horses have to offer us

This is an opportunity to be involved in something beautiful

I think there's a lot of people who would benefit

and a lot of people who'd be very very very grateful to have that perspective.

With this documentary, I encourage you to give whatever you can

so that she can share her heart and the horses can share their heart

to help make the world really a better place and to help people

understand themselves better so I can't think of a better reason

than to put five hundred or a thousand dollars or more

into making this thing a reality

and you know really ultimately from an ego base,

you get to say you were part of making this happen. Isn't that gonna make you feel great?

Because I know it's gonna make me feel great.
