Number: 5 The Riddle House The Riddle House is located in Palm Beach,
Florida.
This house was constructed in 1920 and was owned by Karl Riddle.
Karl, along with his employee, Joseph committed suicide in this house and their souls are
said to be wandering inside its premises.
No one knew the truth behind their violent deaths but its said that they died miserably,
and their bodies were hanging by the fans with shattered neck bones.
Not only the house but also its furniture, and the outside garden are restricted for
the public Number 4: Gettysburg Battlefield
The Gettysburg Battlefield is considered to be the most gory and vicious battlefield of
the entire Civil War.
More than 50,000 soldiers lost their lives during different wars on this battlefield.
Theres even a Devil's Den situated close to this battlefield where the dead bodies
of all those soldiers were buried.
It is said that their souls still come to the battlefield and cry over the all the bloodshed.
This area has been restricted and is not open for tourists.
Number 3: Leap Castle The leap castle is known to be highly haunted
by a vast number of spirits, including a violent hunched beast known only as the Elemental.
It is most recognizable by the accompanying smell of rotting flesh and sulfur.
While renovating the castle, workers discovered a dungeon accessible only through a ceiling
hatch, into which prisoners are thrown, then forgotten and left to die.
This particular dungeoun contained three cartloads of human remains, and was filled with spikes
to impale those thrown into it's depths.
Number 2: Borely Rectory Described as the most haunted house in Britain,
Borely rectory was built in 1863 on the site of a 12
th century church and monastery.
A popular legend claims that a monk from borely fell in love with a nun from a nearby convent.
They planned to elope, but the monastery's elders discovered their plans.
He was hanged, while she was burned alive in the vaults beneath the rectory and their
ghosts have haunted the site ever since.
Number 1: Athens Lunatic Asylum The athens lunatic asylum in ohio is known
to be heavily haunted.
The notorious rapist Billy Milligan was housed at the facility for years.
The most famous story however, is that of a 54 year old female patient who ran away
and was missing for 6 weeks.
She was found dead in an unused ward.
She had taken off all of her clothes, neatly folded them, and laid down on the cold concrete
where she subsequently died.
Through a combination of decomposition and sun exposure, her corpse left a permanent
stain on the floor, which is still visible today.
Her spirit now haunts the abandoned ward.
