Plate Number: Syria Damascus | 954366

Hi guys, how are you all

Today we do have this beautiful car, Mitsubishi Lancer Ex

Turbo? Turbo Ex, Okay. It dates from 1983

Thanks for coming Reda. You are letting me drive your beautiful car. Not an issue, not an issue.

Yalla? Yalla let's go.

I hope it doesn't stall. Naah.

The steering is a bit stiff. Look,

the car

purely old school

You have

You can start from from the Hydraulic steering wheel, it's not there.

and also

All the refined and comfort systems are unavailable

canceled. For sure. You are driving right now a pure old school car.

For sure

Great

How many power does it deliver?

For now, the car. Hmm, it makes around...

275 to 280 Horsepower.

Backwheel. Okay.

On the

Available settings on it.

By the way, this amount of horsepower you have

is enough for the car's weight

it became rdiculously fast. It's like a slingshot.

To be honest yeah.

The more you decrease the weight, the more it becomes responsive.

But yeah, the amount of Horsepower is more than what I need.

Okay Reda. Tell us a bit about the car's story.

From where did you buy it and all...

The car's story is ehmm...

It's story, is...

It has a special story.

When I bought the car, I was

I was looking for a normal simple car.

And... I wanted her to take me from point A to point B.

I wasn't interested in all these car stuff.

So Yeah I went and bought it. And...

The car was a piece of crap.

It was just a rusted metal, damaged.

I just don't know, when I saw it for the first time. I fall in love with her looks.

And me, I am just a person that was looking for a daily task car.

And I took her.

And after sometime...

My friend came and told me: You car has a very big history.

I told him where? And he told me:

Take this link and check what was this car doing in Japan.

And I discovered that the car is the first Mitsubishi Lancer's Editon.

And the first edition for Evos.

The one that they started with the Evolutions. You know the performance engines

I got more deep in it and I knew

that the car participated in many Rally races.

Wow.

And.. I loved this project and so I said: That's it

I want to do a restoration.

And I started.

When did you start?

I started with her in 2004.

Dayum, it's been a long time.

Yeah yeah, a long time ago. You know the car

Besides it survived a lot until now

The car... Thanks God, I am grateful it still surviving with me

And she is strong

So, it took me around 9 months

9 months, all of it was a full restoration

But you know, how they say.. Until the last bone.

Yep, I got you.

I didn't just do any random painting job on it, or

just quickly. No no.

I started from the car's roots

Nice.

I brought a car from Japan.

Group B.

a white Rally car

I took most of her parts and

the engine and we started

working on the car.

I am sorry. Just the...

Are there indicators on this car?

Yep, there is.

here it is. Where?

Owh these, okay.

Japanese man.

I told you it's pure... I got confused with the wipers.

No no they're overhere.

Ok

Continue the story.

So, so.. I still even remember

a person came to me

A very old man. He told me:

Reda, what you're doing is useless

9 months to restore a car?!

But me I had hope. That

I want to restore this car

to her value

Yep

And...

thanks, I am gratefull.

We worked on the project

and I wasn't expecting the upcoming results

and the car was fine

Thanks god

To be honest,

I can see that the car is perfect

God bless you

the color is clean

the body is clean

True

The finishing is clean

There are just some stitches

on the seat.

True

But, generally speaking

The car is perfect

True true. Really

Bravo

No No. I really like people who

takes care of their cars

and...

and yeah, when they do a good job on their cars.

No thanks god, for me the car

I take care of her more

than myself

if you want the truth

I really take care of her more than myself because

It needs to

be washed twice a week

For sure, yeah.

From the bottom to the top

and it's always

covered.

It doesn't see the sunlight

So yeah...

Thanks God

Ofcourse when you

do the right job

It will survive with you

So yeah, these things helped a lot

the car to maintain it's value

with it's high mainteance

Tell us Reda

We talked about

the car's design

about the interior

and in general on her

but tell us more on the performance side

of the car

what is the engine's name?

Did you do any swap?

actually more on the work done on the engine itself

Ofcourse, but now look

I took all

the parts

From the car that I brought from Japan.

And she was already loaded

a Group B Rally car in performance

But what I added is

that a lot of parts

We can say like a

renewal or...

an upgrade

for example, we do have

the injectors

for example, I've put some that belonged to the Evo 5 to 6

Because you need more fuel

For the fuel pump

The car has 12inch BOSCH fuel pump

Two Mercedes 600 pumps

To efficiently pump the fuel

to the engine

The engine's name is 4G63 and

and it's well know in

in JDM cars

And it's one of the first engines

that had a turbo

from the 80s

And until now

it's used in all types of Evos.

Ofcourse with some upgrades each year

but the engine's crate

and the fueling system

and the horsepower ratio

it's exactly the same

So.. So I did some tuning on

the engine's internals

from pistons

to the setup of the engine

Turbo's system

I wanted her to have a good amount of torque

and fast

So it can deliver the power on spot

As you can see. On approximately 600 RPM

It takes all the car's torque

You don't have to wait

to make her load or lag

so this what happens

Plus....

between gears

You changed your mind and you want to load up more power

the pressure will always be there

So I did a lot of games and tricks with the engine

to give me this performance, but

in general

the upgraded brakes system are old school

the ones

that you find I think in American cars

it's actually two metal pieces

and between them

the brake opens

Basically like Pickups

Exactly, like Pickups systems

and all this has changed

and now they are all brake discs

and ventilated too

it has a cooling system

Plus

the car's suspension are Sumitomo

From Japan

They are a bit stiff. Yep they are.

As you can see, we are all jumping.

and then there is

The differential

We talked about it previously

It's an LSD Autoblock

It's complete

It comes in one piece

It transfers the power to both wheels at the same time

What is?.. the.. the...

Tires sizes?...

So we do have

Size? Right?...

You mean tires?

Yep, both front and back

At the moment, we

we did two sizes

the fronts are 195s

the back ones are 225

for a better grip

specially the Autoblock differential

The LSD

So you need to have

wider tires to get a better grip on the road

Yeah ofcourse.

In addition to that, whenever you want to do

some slides, to the right and the left

You still have

You can have a better control on the car

Yep, correct.

So as I said, the performance has been carefully engineered for this amount of power

and for this speed

Yep

For the car's body design

I didn't add a lot of power to the car so I don't exceed the safe margin

and at the same time it's enough

Ofcourse the whole car has been built up in "Rabee Al Zabadani Garage"

He is very well known

Where is it located?

It's in Syria, in Damascus

Nice

he is a specialist in tuning cars

and one that belongs to the Syrian cars club

He is a very well skilled guy in cars

Yep

So, his experience has helped me a lot

In this things

he really did a good job

He actually used to race and he had some good rankings

this explains

And he is a back wheel specialist

Even too, a lot of people told me to make it a four wheels car

Or put on more power

I told them all, no. I just going to leave as it is

I love to slide

I love, love... Even this Autoblock

Gives me a good feeling

As you can see while driving

You feel the whole car's power delivery is there

Correct

But... uhmmm

There is a little issue with the car

Tell me

The gear is a bit tough

Yep

I mean like, sometimes it gets complicated

Correct.

When I put on the gear, it gets stuck.

Yep, true.

Look for now, it can get fixed

but if I changed the type of gears

I mean if I brought up another gearbox

There are a lot of modern companies

They can recreate the same exact gearbox

But everything inside will be new

So it will be softer and smoother

So the inside gear won't be anymore old

Yep

So yeah, it all depends on what each person wants actually

For me, if I don't feel I am wrestling with the gears

To get the right gear on

So you have to be a man and push

Yeah yeah, so you have to suffer a bit with it

For me, what's the point of driving a car and the gear just comes easily for you

No...

you have to do it the hard way by yourself

And when you do put on the right gear

Whenever you're racing

and the shift is just perfectly executed

You get that feeling of achivement

The power that you required just came in the perfect time

True, true

So yeah, that's beautiful thing

But, yeah it's true that there is a lot of things that I need to correct and change

But for the moment, I am leaving the car as it is

Man, just the turbo's sound is just perfect

I swear to God it's just amazing

Dayum

It's a bit sitff

But, the turning radius is

It's not, not...

Yep, it's not short

Yeah, yeah... It's not

Yes, it's not short

The problem is

If you want it short, you need a Hydraulic or an electric system

Because if it was short on this type of cars

It will immediately slide

Yep

So you've got to have a hydraulic system in it

I have a question

The RPM isn't working or is it just laging

Nope, the RPM is working and it's not working

Why though?

Yeah, actually when....

It's a bit weird

When the fans open

Yeah?

It makes a difference

But you will fix it yeah?

Yeah ofcourse

What's happening actually is, because the fans are new

Ok

And the system dates from 1983

So you do have a difference of

15 years of technology

For example, you can checkout the Boost gauge

Ok

So here, it's a Minus Plus system

it doesn't have a number

This is the reason why I've put another Boost gauge

So I can know the digital numbers

But also... If you come back to the modern restoration

So this is what happens actually

So it's something normal

The most important things are the temperature

And the oil's temperature

Yep, the engine's temperature and the turbo's pressure

Just the...

It's amazing

Yeah the backpressure

It's not too loud

And not very low

and it's not annoying

You listen to it

and you enjoy it

Even when people here it from the outside

Especially, when you are on a high speed

They will hear the back pressure being thrown

But there isn't anything to cancel the sound

Like a loud exhaust or anything else

Plus the steel

The whole car is made of steel, nothing is made of plastic

So this helps the back pressure to sound nicer

You know what, I could just do it again

many times a day

and I will never get bored of it

True, true

To be honest, it's very amusing

I daily drive the car

and daily too?...

Yep, daily.

But did you see how is it stiff?

Yep

But look, I will tell you something

If you ate

it's better than a 7UP

The whole vibration that happens

with all the stuff

sometimes it gives me some back pains

But it's fine

Anyone who loves these type of cars, he needs

To have some patience

Yep, he needs to be patient

and sacrifice too

Did you see the spin?

So amusing, so amusing...

Every time this sound comes

I don't know

I just get a sort of giggles and I want to laugh

True, true

But then you feel that you're controlling the car

You feel that the car gives whatever you want

To be honest, it's driving isn't easy

and you, you...

you are the 8th person to drive this car

For me, I have a limited number of persons that can drive it

There are a few that drove it

Me or my friend

There are just few people that did drive it

Not a lot of people knew how to react with her

Most of the time, when I used to move it from a place to place

When the recovery guy comes

I used to tell hime, Nope. I will put it on or off the truck

They suffer with it

Exactly, they do

It easily jumps

But you...

God bless you, since you pushed it hard

Thank you

How did you find my driving... For an old school car

Yeah you were good

Nah, it was beautiful

Where will it go? It just wants to jump...

The pressure wants to go out

it needs to be thrown

People are getting confused of what is happening

what are these sounds

Give it some load on the 2nd gear

Yep, I want to fully load it

Damn it, get in

Yeeh, you just started

Beautiful, Beautiful

C'mon

It's enough for today

Let me show you now

Yep, just let me stop here

Reda...

The car is beautiful

Habibi

God bless

May God bless you

I liked it a lot

It's like a toy

True

It's so beautiful... beautiful... beautiful

You feel the real mechanics

Exactly

Steering wheel....

Gear

Clutch, Turbo

Air

Engine

And brakes

Oh yeeh

chassis and tires

and also

backwheel

Sooo...

You don't need more than that

The whole package is here

You get me?

True

Thank you Reda

Habibi

I fatigued you today

You came over here and all

It was a pleasure for me

No no really

Thanks for letting me drive you car. I know that while I was driving, you were scared for it

But...

But I liked the fact that you drove it while having fun

And this proves that

You love what you are doing

There are some that do reviews

Just to speak about specs

and it's just a page of words and talks

No, but here you were really feeling the drive

and for me, I had fun

with the tour that we did. Thanks, thanks

Thank you guys

I hope that you liked today's episode

and...

Take care of yourselves

and will see you the next time

See ya

Guitar tip 07 sometimes bend with the second finger - Duration: 2:12.

HI Stuart Bahn here and this is tip number seven in my series of guitar tips videos.

This tip is to sometimes try bending with the second finger instead of the

third finger. Now this is not a rule that I think everyone should stick to;

this is just a suggestion that sometimes you try it because sometimes it works

out better. So my example that I'd like to show you is this kind of a phrase...

Now I think most people would probably bend it like I did there with the third finger

supported by the second and then the fourth finger hammering on and pulling off to fret 8.

And that feels okay. But when you try and adapt this and make it into something like this...

if you hold that like I was doing there, it's fairly uncomfortable, and

the reason is almost certainly because of this problem that all humans seem to

have which is that the third and fourth fingers don't really work very well; they

don't work very independently with regard to each other. They tend to want

to do whatever the other is doing. Now if you change that to the middle finger...

that's actually much more comfortable. The first phrase...

for me now is actually preferable to the third finger bend.

So, as I say it's not a rule just try it sometimes.

Middle finger bending instead of the third finger. If by the way you were playing this

12 frets higher so fret 15 up here...

then certainly you should be using the middle finger and the third finger

Simply because the frets are so small there's no room to get all four of

these fingers crowded in there.

So that is tip 7. I hope you found it helpful; please hit like if you did

and click Subscribe and I shall see in the next video.

The Fat Activism Basics- BMI part 1 - Duration: 6:41.

Hi everyone its Ali from Ok2BeFat, and it's time for some fat activism basics.

In this series of videos I'll be talking about BMI-- the body mass index.

I wasn't originally going to cover this topic because it's almost too basic.

Because everyone knows that BMI is a bad tool

That's misused to stigmatize people. Because we all know the BMI is garbage, right?

Well it turns out not everyone does know that. And talking about the problems with BMI is a foundation

We need to build on so that later we can get into more complicated topics.

We have to talk about BMI

Because BMI is a critical part of the framework used to

dehumanize fat people. The BMI formula plays an important role in claims that fat people have to be harmed and discriminated against because-

Science! One of the most important things I've learned as a fat activist is that framing is key to talking about any issue.

The current framework for fat people positions us as subhuman and it's important to never accept a framework that dehumanizes you

So what do I mean by framing? I mean the baseline assumptions

We all agree to before engaging in a dialogue. The current mainstream dialogue around fatness

Is that fat people are morally degraded and that anything that makes a fat person thinner is worth it, no matter the cost.

And like all dialogues, this one is based on a number of unquestioned assumptions

Assumptions like being fat is inherently bad, that it's possible to make fat people permanently thin

That when society holds up one end of the body size spectrum as good

And the other end as bad, that there are good reasons for this rather than just outright discrimination

I don't accept any of these assumptions

When factual claims are made against fat people

That for example, fatness causes early death, or that

it's possible to make all fat people permanently thin- those claims don't actually hold up when they're investigated

Without their dubious claims of scientific backing, all that fatphobic people are left with

is a mishmash of weird moralizing and transparent bigotry

So let's start digging into these so-called facts and see what we can find

Starting with BMI. In this video, I will be discussing weight and weight loss

I will also be using the words

obesity and overweight in the context of discussing and quoting scientific studies even though these are words I would not normally use

Body size is not a disease. The word obesity treats larger bodies as though their very existence is a problem that needs solving.

A side note. Somehow, it seems like thin people got this idea that obese was a more polite term than fat, and it just isn't.

Most fat or plus-size people have a real cringe response to that word

It would be super cool if you could listen to us when we explained how we'd like to be referred to. Thanks.

Just thought you might want to know. This series about BMI is broken into three parts-- the introduction, which is the video you're watching

Right now, the history of BMI, and the research and evidence against BMI.

BMI- What is it? BMI stands for the body mass index. It's a formula originally authored in

1832 by Adolphe Quetelet, a Belgian mathematician. The equation used for BMI is weight in pounds

divided by height in inches squared, times

703- where the 703 calculation is used to convert the Imperial measurements into metric ones

When you do this calculation you get a nice round number that you can place on a graph. At current guidelines a number over 25

Falls into the category of overweight and a number over 30 is considered obese

Obese being defined as a level of overweight considered medically dangerous

And it all seems so very scientific, why there's even math involved! How could you argue with that. I mean,

It's not like anyone's ever used math or statistics to lie before. Am I saying BMI is being used to lie?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying

For starters, this neat round number doesn't take race, gender, or activity levels into consideration

Or income levels, disability, or other factors. BMI is currently an arbitrary number that we use to separate people into

Worthy and unworthy, good and bad, moral and immoral categories

But BMI gives us no useful information about individual people

Because it actively promotes incorrect assumptions that can lead to poor medical outcomes and the advance of fat stigma

BMI prevents us from using the real medical tools that would actually tell us something about people's actual health

By tricking doctors and other authority figures into thinking they have information about people that they actually don't

I'm not sure why in the 21st century

We're still relying on "that person looks weird" as a medical

Diagnostic tool, rather than something like a blood test, or an x-ray, or looking in people's ears with that weird pointy ear thing

Why should we be using a formula from 1832 as a medical tool?

A tool proposed by a man who wasn't a doctor, from a time before people accepted that germs exist, from before we knew about viruses, in the

1830s people were still taking cocaine for their allergies and using heroin in their cough syrup. You would think we'd really

Advanced in the years since, but the way we look at fat

People is stuck in a pre-modern equation that basically amounts to asking a magic 8-ball to tell you who the bad people are

When you can measure people's blood pressure, you don't have to assume what it is just by looking at them.

That seems like it should be the point of having machines and tests that measure things.

As we look into the history of how the BMI equation was formed, we're going to find even more reasons to question its validity as measurement

Because it wasn't arrived at in a very scientific manner and it continues to be upheld against mountains of evidence that it should be dropped

Part two of this series will be an exploration of the history of BMI throughout the years since it was first proposed in

1832 up to the present day.

And part three will be an exploration of the evidence the BMI doesn't match up to the premature deaths that fat people are always threatened with

Studies, did you say? We've got studies. And that's the end of part one- an introduction to BMI

Please see the notes below for a list of all the sources I consulted for this series. Always and forever

I have to thank all the fat activists who came before me and all those who will come after.

And thank you to my supporters on Patreon- especially the ones who are scrolling by now

See you again soon for part two

6 Things Only Introverts Will Understand When It Comes To Summer - Duration: 7:01.

6 Things Only Introverts Will Understand When It Comes To Summer

Summertime is probably the most popular time of the year.

What can be better than warm sunny days filled with the subtle atmosphere of joy and carefreeness?

If you ask a dozen of random people whether they like summer, you will hardly find one

or two who will give a negative answer.

Yet, there are individuals who don't enjoy themselves so much during this joyful season.

Those are socially awkward introverts.

Even if you are one yourself but do love summer, I bet that you too face certain challenges

during this period of the year.

In this video, I'm going to show you 6 summertime struggles only introvert will understand.

But before we start, make sure to like this video and subscribe our channel so you won't

miss any interesting update in the future guys.

Here are a few summertime struggles that you will only understand if you are a socially

awkward introvert:

1.

It gets too 'peopley' outside

When the weather gets warmer, those nice quiet places you were visiting during colder seasons

suddenly become crowded.

In summer, it's almost impossible to find a quiet corner outdoors where you can stay

alone with your thoughts.

It may seem that people are just everywhere you go: families with kids, bunches of noisy

teenagers, dog owners playing with their four-legged buddies…

The higher you are on the scale of social awkwardness, the more you suffer when it's

too "peopley" outside.

So a nice walk in the park is not so nice after all.

You end up anxious and irritated instead of enjoying the fresh air and the beauty of summertime

nature.

2.

Going to the beach may feel awkward

When you go to the beach (which is an essential part of a summer vacation), it gets even worse.

It's even more crowded and full of various noises coming from all the directions.

In such circumstances, it's just impossible for you to chill out and enjoy the sea.

Instead, you feel overwhelmed with all those people around you and annoyed with constant

noise.

If you also have social anxiety, you may be suffering even more because of the fact that

you have to sit almost naked among all those strangers.

You may feel like everyone is staring at you each time you are walking on the beach to

take a swim or buy something to eat/drink.

Some people who suffer from severe social anxiety end up not going to the beach at all

in order to avoid these distressing experiences.

3.

Summertime social events leave you drained

Summer is traditionally a time of heightened social life as the hot air and the abundance

of vitamin D make even the grumpiest of us a little more cheerful and friendly.

There are so many open-air parties, festivals and other social events that anyone can find

something to attend.

Even if you are an extremely introverted person who is not into this type of social gatherings,

you are very likely to go to a few of those during the summer.

After all, you are no exception to the ubiquitous craving for adventure and new experiences,

which is just everywhere in the air this time of the year.

But the truth is that when you find yourself at such a party, you easily become tired and

drained and regret not staying at home.

In the beginning, you probably try to cheer yourself up and praise yourself for finally

going out and doing your best to become social and act "normal".

But the outcome is always the same: large social gatherings suck your energy just too

fast.

So you soon start to miss your home, your cozy bed, that exciting book you left half-read

or the movie you were going to watch tonight.

4.

More intense feelings of not fitting in

Paradoxically, a more active social life can cause the feelings of loneliness, especially

when you hang out with the wrong people.

And in summer, you have more chances to spend some time with people you barely know and

don't feel so connected to.

Imagine a scenario: your best friend asks you to accompany her to a party her colleagues

hold.

However, when you reach the place, you realize that you basically don't know anyone.

As a socially awkward introvert, you will probably freak out and start to feel uncomfortable

being among all those unknown people.

You will also notice that everyone else seems to get on perfectly well with each other while

you are somehow excluded from this enjoyment.

Of course, in this kind of situation, you will probably start to overthink your social

ineptness and blame yourself for being such an awkward misfit.

5.

You don't really relax during summer vacation

When you finally get that long-expected vacation from work, you can travel and visit some nice

places.

If you are lucky to travel with a fellow introvert, you will surely choose some lovely tranquil

destination and have a great time.

But what if your friend or significant other is an extrovert who craves for beach activities,

partying and socializing?

No need to say that this type of vacation quickly drains you and at some point, you

realize that you actually have a better time and relax more by yourself at home.

So you get back from your vacation even more tired than you were before.

6.

You don't get a tan as you have spent most of your summer indoors

Finally, because of all these uncomfortable experiences, you probably end up spending

most of your time at home instead of going to the beach and doing other summertime activities.

So at the end of the summer, you hardly get any tan, which brings further awkwardness

as people ask you stupid questions like, Why are you so pale?

Do you ever get outside?

Well, that's the 6 summertime struggles only introvert will understand.

So, what about you?

If you are an introvert, do you enjoy yourself in summer?

Can you relate to these summertime struggles?

How I Take Notes in Korean // joshmo - Duration: 8:18.

안녕하세요 여러분!

Today I am doing a video about how I take notes in Korean.

So here we have my grammar notebook which is the one that I am pointing at, it is the

blue one, with all the stickers on it.

In here, I take notes, of course, about grammar, from resources such as Talk to me in Korean,

Korean Grammar in Use, and Korean from Zero.

So, anything that has to do with grammar, such as sentence structure, or conjugations,

I put in this notebook (also phrases).

And then here we have my vocabulary notebook, which is the black one that of course I put

vocabulary in.

Things such as like foods, colors, I put those in there along with their definitions.

So, I also take notes in my Talk to me in Korean Workbooks, I have 3, level 1, level

2, and level 3.

I am currently on level 2 but if I am going through a lesson and I'm working in my workbook,

if I find something that I actually need, I'll just write them in the workbook itself,

along with m grammar and vocabulary notebooks. So let's take a look inside my grammar notebook!

In here I have the first thing, which is a writing practice, this one is SUPER old, so

don't mind my handwriting but, I have that one, and usually those are just song lyrics.

My sentence structure notes from Korean Grammar in Use, conjugations, connecting sentences,

and then, also sentence types, these all are from Korean Grammar in Use.

And then, more writing practice, my language trip, that I am planning, my present progressive

notes from Talk to me in Korean, and usually I just write it all, and I have a color coding

system for my notes, which you can see with the highlighters, and I'll go over that in

the next part of the video.

So now, let's do a page together.

Here is a blank page that I'm going to start writing notes from Talk to me in Korean on.

So, the first thing I do is write the date.

When I wrote this, I had just learned the dates in Korean so it is completely wrong,

it's supposed to say 이천십칠년 십일월 이십이일 수요일.

And then I write the title, highlight it in purple, and then write the Korean title underneath

the English title.

So these notes are from Talk to me in Korean.com, specifically from their PDF lesson on Self

Introduction.

So, when I'm writing notes from a PDF file or from a book, I will usually shorten the

information because a lot of it is repetitive, and I already get it by the time.

Or, if I really don't get something, I will write it verbatim and try to figure it out

that way.

So here I am writing a kind of topic in red, something that is very important, that's what

I do usually, and, for this specific set of notes, I was writing the different sentence

type/sentence structure, that is very useful in self introduction.

So, in this set of notes specifically, there was a lot of good examples and a lot of good

vocabulary, and I find when I'm writing a bunch of examples and vocabulary all at one

time, I really like to write the Korean first and then go back and write the English.

So, for example, in the first set of phrases, the first one is 저는 학생이에요.

So, I will write 저는학생이에요, and then I will write the next 6 Korean phrases

after that.

And then I'll go back up and write the English definition from memory.

So, 저는 학생이에요, I can gather 저는 means I, 학생 means student, and 이에요

is is, so I can say "I am a student".

Not only does this help me with vocabulary and memorization, but, also sentence structure,

particles, and verb conjugations as well.

And I also repeat these sentences to myself as I'm writing them in English just so I can

connect them a little bit more, I really recommend this if you by yourself studying because it

helps you with vocabulary and pronunciations.

And then I will repeat what I just did with the next 2 examples.

So here you can see me placing a sticky note on my notes.

I do that a lot when I'm taking notes.

I just think that sticky notes make my notes look more interesting and they add a lot of

color and cuteness, because I have cute Gudetama sticky notes.

But, also, they have a practical use as well.

For example, if I'm flipping through my notebook and I really want to review self-introduction,

I will write on my sticky note something that I think that I should remember ore that I

might forget later on.

And, I can review it really quickly that way because it's just in my face, a sticky note

instead of having all the information on the notes.

So, for example, on this sticky note, I wrote the literal definitions of some of the examples

in set 2.

For example, 저는 여동생이 있어요 means "I have a younger sister" and, literally

it means "As for me, a younger sister exists."

Which, this us one of the fundamental differences between Korean and English.

So, if I want to remember that grammar between these 있어요 and 없어요 are different,

I can see it very clearly on the sticky note.

So, let's get to highlighting.

The highlighting system for my notebook is all the same, I use the same colors for everything,

so I use this grey to highlight any broad topics, so, for example, examples, topic greetings,

and sample dialogue are the ones here.

Then I use pink to highlight anything that I think is important and that is the statement

on the top of this only, and then I use blue to highlight any vocabulary that I think that

I would like to remember, and that is important to me.

So, here we have my vocabulary notebook, it's pretty plain, I just have my Korean words

listed on one side, and then the English definitions listed on the other.

So, I always start my notes off with a title, this one is "cooking", I got these words from

the Talk to me in Korean flashcard set, that is an E-Book.

And then after I write the Korean title on the side.

So this is a HUGE set of words and instead of doing my normal write the Korean and then

go back and write the English word, I decided that I'm just going to write the Korean word

and then write the English word right next to it, and I did this for the rest of the

set of words.

Also, as I write the words, I say them out loud to myself just so I have an idea of what

they sound like while I write.

So I highlight the title in blue, and then I use grey to highlight any words that I know

that I'm going to have problems with or that I already have problems with, just so I know

that I need to take extra care in reviewing those words.

So yes, this is the way I take notes!

I really hope that you enjoyed this video, and that it was helpful to some of you, you

don't have to take notes the way that I take notes, but, if you don't have a notebook and

you are learning Korean, or any language, I really recommend getting yourself one, because

doing my notebook, along with listening to the podcasts, and doing my workbook, really

helps me retain a WHOLE lot more information, and I do this on an everyday basis!

So, if you have any more questions about how I take notes, please leave them down below,

I will be sure to answer them, and, yes! 사랑해! 감사합니다, 안녕히개세요!

The Secret Ingredient of Cryptocurrency Mining / Genesis Mining #EvolveWithUs - The Series Episode 4 - Duration: 5:20.

Just using Hive we managed to monitor thousands

of rigs with two maintenance guys

Why two?

Because if one is sick, the other one can take over

I started developing software for Genesis Mining,

I was working on a monitoring product

for monitoring Bitcoin mining farms

It was called "GenMon" - Genesis Monitoring

Then it came to a point where Stefan came

to me and said - "Hey Phil, we've got this

new build out starting in Iceland, why don't you come along?"

Alright, great, Iceland, it's nice,

great countryside, many people go there for tourism,

you know, why not, why not.

Fast forward one month, we are sitting in

a tiny office space, beside the roaring Bitcoin

farm, super loud, and that's basically in

that kind of space at 3 a.m. in the morning

that's when the most important features

of the monitoring software were written - because

it was just absolutely needed.

Just by spending a lot of time together and

traveling from location to location, building

Bitcoin farms, looking at other people's installations,

learning from many many mistakes and many

problems that we had on the way, we developed

the software feature for feature, piece by

piece to try to automate as much as possible.

GenMon is now called Genesis Hive

it is our central software for deploying new farms,

maintaining the farms that we are running

and managing access control and different

things about the farm

These three points are the key components

because a farm doesn't always look the same

there's different stages in how farm operates

First, of course, you are building a farm

we call it "the deployment phase", you are

ordering new hardware, you are building

a new data center, you are putting the hardware

into the shelves and you want everything mining

as quick as possible, of course, every day

counts.

This is what the "deployment phase" does in Hive.

So when you wanna add a new miner into Hive,

all you do is - you put in on a shelf, you

connect it to the power and to the internet,

and it automatically detects which kind of

miner there is. It automatically configures it

to mine for you and basically get it all

set up and running.

So all you have to worry about when you're

building the mining farm with the Hive - is

that you install Hive first so it is watching

the space, and slide the miners into the shelf.

So when you have a running Bitcoin farm, alright,

which was your goal all along, from the very

beggining, then you will notice very quickly,

that it is not actually running that well

so this is where Hive comes in again, Hive

tries to help you as much as possible with

this process.

Obviously, Hive can not resold a burned connection

anywhere - it is a software, but it can fix

all kinds of configuration problems, mining

software kind of problems, and firmware upgrades,

for example.

If you use Hive the right way and you have

everything set up right, then the only thing

you actually need to do physically in the

farm is to fix things or replace things that

are broken.

For example, here this is like 20 cables, right?

All kinds of different cables, each cable

can burn, that's the only thing Hive can't

fix, but Hive can help you fix it, Hive can help

you find the problem.

You have a thousand miners in your farm,

which one is it?

So actually the way you set up Hive is that

you assign each rig, each miner, a unique

location, which means that Hive knows which

machines are close to each other, Hive knows

which machine is where, Hive can show you

heat maps, showing you all - this is your row

of shelves, this part is much hotter than this part.

This is how Hive deals with the maintenance

part of the farm.

While the farm is running, hardware keep it

running as efficiently as possible, with the

least work power as possible.

What else do you need when you're running a farm?

From a management point of view, you wanna

make sure that you control and only you control

how they are configured.

That's the management part of Hive, so automatically

being able to switch the address to where

the miners are mining to, where the coins

are actually sent that are mined, and being

able to change other kinds of configuration

parameters, not just the mining address, but

all kinds of config parameters and also automatically

changing the firmware of miners, and just

doing all the software stuff in a completely

automated autonomous way, is one of the main

features of Hive.

It is very important if you wanna scale your

mining operation, if you want to do one or

two miners at home, by yourself, you can do

it any way you want, you can do it completely

manually, it is no problem.

But already at 10 miners, it's already getting

very annoying and time-consuming.

Because we've realized that there is no other

product out there that allows you to monitor

your farm this way - there are monitoring

solutions out there, but they are not targeted

for the big miner, like for the big mining

facility, industrial scale mining.

That's what Hive does.
