We didn't think we were going to show this because it is a big pitch for a huge client.

What I want to do is I want to turn this into a little bit of a lesson.

So we're going to watch some of this deck, make some notes, and I'm going to give you some tips.

And some context to what we did....

What Does A Screenwriter Do With A Finished Screenplay? by Blayne Weaver - Duration: 3:02.

Film Courage: When you finish a screenplay on spec, what's protocol when you're done?

Blayne Weaver: You finish it up and get all of your buddies to read it and tell you what

you think because this is like you only get one first read on that.

And this is hard for me because I like to get it out there, see what the agent thinks

(as soon as possible) and…it's a mistake!

You should hold it until it's done.

I have trouble taking that advice but…you send it to your agent or producers or whoever

your contacts are in the world and you wait to see what they say.

It's pretty simple.

You have very little power over it once they take it.

I have this one script that has had overwhelmingly positive feedback and notes and has been at

one agency for about 8 months…you know…going through actors, big movie stars reading it

or their "people" reading it.

Anyways, we will wait for 9 weeks and then we will hear "Well, Matthew McConaughey

just passed, but that's okay.

We're going to Woody Harrelson."

Okay…9 weeks later "Well, Woody Harrelson passed, but that's okay.

We're going to Josh Brolin."

And it just sits there and people read it and you know, I do nothing.

I just sit and I'm happy that these agencies and this talent has something of mine to read.

You know, maybe they will see my name on it.

Film Courage: What if you don't have the agent or manager to give it to?

I mean, let's say you are a new writer that doesn't have a foundation, hasn't been

in Los Angeles that long?

Blayne Weaver: There are online resources.

"The Blcklst" is one of them where you can send in the script and have it covered,

have it read.

Coverage is this thing where it's like a book report on your script where they…all

the studios do that, they'll give you a little score, you know?

And you can pay people to do it professionally.

But I would say that right now, these competitions, like I know the Austin Film Festival has a

very prestigious one, but sending your script in if you win a couple of awards, that's

something that might get some leeway in sending it to an agency.

Normally I would say that almost never works.

I've never heard of anybody being read because of a query letter.

But if you have awards, maybe it would work?

I mean look, there is no set way to do anything in this business.

Like everything is a twisty-turny, chutes and ladders kind of thing.

So you just try everything.

You just throw everything at it and I mean that's how I finance movies.

That's how I got all of my movies done.

You just try everything and see what works out and be open to something working out in

a way that you didn't expect.

The Everton star was on the mark in Monday's 3-1 win over Swansea making it 11 goals for the season for the 32-year-old.

Six of those have come in the five games since Allardyce was announced as the new Goodison boss and, after a difficult start to Rooney's Everton return, Big Sam believes it is a marriage made in heaven.

Allardyce said: "The move and the timing of the move looks like it was perfect for Everton and perfect for him and he's proving that now. "The last year at United he wasn't playing and he wanted to play.

So he's come to Everton and after a difficult start for everybody because of results he's come through that period now and we really need him.

"We need him at that level, and to continue at that level for the rest of the season.".

"We need him at that level" Everton boss Sam Allardyce Rooney's form now makes Jose Mourinho's judgement to freeze him out at Manchester United last season look all the more questionable.

Allardyce admits that, as he did in his Bolton days with legends like Jay-Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff, it is a case of helping older players through the heavy workload of English football.

And if that means annoying Rooney by subbing him - as he has done in every game he has been in charge so far - then that is a small price to pay.

Allardyce said: "What can I say, Okocha and Djorkaeff were the two easiest players I've ever had to handle in my entire career.

"Wayne is very similar – say one or two things and they go, 'Yes ok gaffer, fine I've got it'.

"What more do you want from a top quality player like that? You ask once twice maximum and they understand that instruction, and go out and show you what they've got and why they are at your club.

"But I think it's all about the 30 games we've already had and managing that situation.

"So, in his form at the minute, and if I can afford to substitute him, then it gets him rested a little bit more for the next one. "I wouldn't say he was that happy with me.

He's never happy, Wayne. But he's a great professional.

"He's had a huge career hasn't he, but he's only 32, not in his mid 30s. Looking after yourself a different way when you go into your mid 30s is what it is all about now.".

GETTY. The Next Gen ATP Finals invited the year's top players under 21 to play in a week-long tournament that feature first-to-four-game sets, four-point games and no lets.

And the format will return to frontline tennis when Nadal joins Nick Kyrgios, Grigor Dimitrov and Alexander Zverev in Sydney on January 8 for an exhibition tournament.

"Rafael Nadal is a superstar, not just in tennis but in international sport and it will be fantastic to welcome him back to Sydney to play FAST4 Tennis, a format that was pioneered here in the Harbour City," said state minster for tourism and major events Adam Marshall "He completes a stellar line-up for the event and I have no doubt fans will travel from far and wide to see these players in action and experience everything our city has to offer in summer.".

However, Nadal is something of a surprise inclusion in the line-up after he openly criticised the innovations after the November experiment. "I dont think its good for the entertainment that points are so fast," Nadal said.

The past week, President Donald Trump made an announcement.

He announced that he recognizes Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.

This huge announcement brought lots of attention and frustration among many world leaders.

After the United States vetoed an UN Security Council resolution condemning President Donald

Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, the nations of the

world vowed to take this matter to the broader General Assembly, where there are no vetoes.

The Trump admin warned all these nations that they will do better if they keep their mouths

shut in this case.

According to our source, Conservative Post, President Donald Trump's representative

at the United Nations Nikki Haley said that when the General Assembly votes on the resolution

this Thursday, Washington will be taking names of the countries who voted in favor.

She later tweeted that they're always asked to do more and give more at the United Nations.

When they make a decision, at the will of the American people, they don't expect to

be targeted from those they have helped.

She also sent a letter to several fellow United Nations Ambassadors, where she expounded on

her threat:

"The president will be watching this vote carefully and has requested I report back

on those countries who voted against us.

We will take note of each and every vote on this issue."

After exercising America's veto in the Security Council, President Donald Trump's fiery

envoy berated the international community for putting forward such a resolution in first

place by calling it an insult and that this will not be forgotten.

The resolution doesn't call out the United States by name, but rather laments recent

changes to an international status quo that has long denied Jewish historical and religious

claims to Jerusalem.

The Dutchman returns to Stamford Bridge with his Bournemouth side in the Carabao Cup. Ake looked to have a future at the Premier League champions when boss Antonio Conte recalled him from his loan period at the Cherries last season.

However, he failed to break into the first-team and returned to Bournemouth on a permanent deal in the summer. Speaking ahead of his return, Ake said: "I have nothing to prove.

"I don't go there to prove myself or things like this. It's just a game, a big game for us.

"To get to the semi-final would be really big for this club" Nathan Ake We want to go to the semi-final and that's what I want to think about, not about other things.

I had a good time there so it will be good to be back at the Bridge, for sure." Bournemouth will be hoping to book their place in the semi-final with a win tomorrow.

But Ake knows his side must be at the top of their game to progress in the competition. "To get to the semi-final would be really big for this club," he continued.

"So obviously it will be a good chance to turn this around.

It will be difficult as Chelsea is not a small club but every game is difficult, so we'll go there with a positive mind and to try to win the game.

"We had bad games last season and the game after we turned it around, so I think it's good that we have a game [now] so we can turn it around quick.

We have to pick up from last Wednesday [a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United], the positives, and try to do that again against Chelsea. The game kicks off at 7.45pm.
