But I want to take you to the book of Mark chapter 10, just real quick, and
verse six, it says this, it says, "But God made them male and female from the
beginning of creation. This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and
is joined to his wife." This is what I love. "And the two are united into one,
since they are no longer two but one." Now verse nine is the part I want you
to catch. This is what I'm gonna preach, verse nine, because verse 9 says this, "Let
no one split apart what God has joined together." You know you can split a lot of
things. You can split dessert, which I don't like doing that, but you can. You
can split a bill, right? You can split a sandwich. You can split a
lot of things, and there's no repercussions to it. But there's a few
things that, if you split it, there are significant ramifications to splitting
it. But one of the things that has significant ramifications of splitting
it, is the smallest thing known to man. You know what an atom is? An atom is the
smallest thing that mankind is aware of. It's - it's - they call it the building
blocks of matter. That everything around you, your skin, the chair you're sitting
in, the carpet, the walls, this universe is made up of atoms. They say that one atom
is ten million times smaller than the width of a hair. That's how small an atom
is. But, if you split an atom, it causes one of the most significant, largest
explosions, and not only the largest, but the hottest known temperature ever to
occur is when an atom is split. They say that when an atom is split it reaches
temperatures of a hundred and fifty million degrees, which is ten times
hotter than the core of the temperature of the Sun. So, a seemingly insignificant
thing, when it's split causes a catastrophic explosion. And, really, if you
get down to the science of an atom, you'll learn that when an atom is split
what causes the explosion is that the atom splits and starts to bump into other
atoms. And the nuclei of other atoms are split, and before you know it, they say,
that a chain reaction sets off, and a seemingly tiny minute thing is split
into two, causes one of the greatest explosions. And it's similar to
marriage. That, you know, we think that "Well it's just my marriage. It's not
that big of a deal, if we were to split, if something was to go wrong." But what we
must understand is that like an atom, when our marriages, or when our
relationships, split it causes a chain reaction for the things around us to
begin to split as well. And before you know it, you're splitting the finances,
and you're splitting time with the kids, and you're splitting holidays, and
everything around you becomes impacted by the thing - that tiny little thing - that
Scripture tells us, "What God put together as one, let no man ever split it apart."
Why? Because he knew the power of marriage and the impact that your
marriage can have. Not just on you, but on everybody around you. It has - it has a
great - a great significant impact.
