Hideo Yutani's Merger with the Weyland Corporation - Explained - Duration: 5:54.
Peter Weyland became a key influencial figure in the Alien Universe, and his company, Weyland
Industries, has proven to be of paramount importance in the series.
He pioneered and championed the technologies used throughout the universe, and sought to
find answers to mankind's place within it, until his death during the failed Project
Prometheus.
Soon after, the Weyland Corporation became Weyland-Yutani, but who exactly is this Yutani
of the company's namesake?
Nothing has been said or shown of Yutani throughout what we've seen in the films preceding Alien
in Ridley Scott's prequel series, and Yutani has been, for the most part, an unknown figure,
and it would seem there's a fair enough reason for this.
Alien Covenant: Origins, a recently published novel taking place between the events of Prometheus
and Alien Covenant, features the Yutani Corporation's founder, Hideo Yutani, as an integral character
and major influence in the mission that sent the Covenant to set up its colony on Origae
6 and help mankind further its reach in the galaxy.
In the character's first tangible representation in a story within the Alien series, Alan Dean
Foster's novel gives the impression that Hideo Yutani is not one for the spotlight, very
much the opposite to Peter Weyland, who was a very hands-on, first-on-deck type of corporate
leader.
Yutani came from humble and modest beginnings, starting his company, on his own, at the age
of 17.
Careful and calculated in his business practices, the company grew incredibly, until, finally,
in his elder years, the merger with Weyland took place, which he believed to be his crowning
achievement.
He was not concerned with finding any answers to the creation of man, or seeking literal
immortality- just good business.
Of Yutani, one character observes, "Being a Japanese industrialist, he's much more interested
in maintaining a low profile.
Peter Weyland, on the other hand, was a name known to nearly everyone on the planet.
More importantly, he was a brand in a personal way that Yutani never has been."
Weyland died on LV-223 in 2091.
With no living heirs to inherit his corporation, his abscence naturally led to a turbulent
era in the business world back on Earth.
While the merger isn't detailed in full, Origins outlines the significance of the events that
follwed:
"Of all the companies that had sought to take over Weyland Corporation following the disappearance
of Peter Weyland, none had given Yutani more trouble or made a stronger effort than the
giant Chinese combine.
Enormous sums had been bid back and forth, promises had been made under other tables
besides the one fashioned of kinoko cypress.
Careers had been put on the line, individuals had been compromised, and a great deal of
the corporate equivalent of blood had been left on the floor.
In the end, Hideo Yutani and his company had triumphed.
The takeover was complete, a done deal.
This was understood and had been reluctantly accepted by all the other failed corporate
bidders."
While most of these failed bidders did, in fact, accept this corporate defeat, Yutani's
takeover continued to be shrouded in controversy, with many, in particular, a Yutani rival named
the Jutou corporation, of the chinese combine, questioned the legality of the deal, and worked
to find ways to illigetimize the merger and take the company, along with its valuable
resources and patents, for its own, all to little success.
After the takeover, Hideo Yutani paid tribute to everybody at Weyland by naming the company
Weyland-Yutani, though apparently he had no obligation to do so according to this deal.
Even this decision was met controversy, as many believed the combining of company names
was less about tribute, and more about brand recognition.
In fairness, it was move very much in line with Yutani's calculated business prowess.
Hideo Yutani was featured prominently in the story of Alien Covenant: Origins, and fair
amount was covered: from the controversy caused by the Weyland merger, the finalizing of the
Walter series of synthetics, and the trials and tribulations that met the Covenant Mission,
including a cult of extremists determined to sabotage the mission at any cost.
Through all, Yutani overcame, though it is likely that his story begins and ends with
Origins.
It's suggested that, as an old man, with hints of health issues, he would not live to see
the Covenant reach its destination.
But unlike Weyland, Yutani does, in fact, have an heir to his corporation, his 30-year-old
daughter, Jenny.
It's possible we may see her in future stories, perhaps bridging the gap between the events
of Covenant and Alien.
Now that the Yutani of Weyland-Yutani has been established within official continuity
of the series, do you think he's due to make an appearance in one of movies?

Looks like the powers that are in the NFL are starting to get desperate!
Since NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the rest of the weak clowns who run the NFL are
starting to see the writing on the wall, he is now resorting to begging for us fans to
come back and watch their little protests.
In a statement today he said that the NFL actively has about 12 players who are protesting
during the national anthem and that they are working towards making it zero.
He added that the NFL wants their players to stand and that they are currently working
with them to encourage every player to stand.
Good luck with that Roger.
What Goodell and the rest of the inept people who run the NFL don't seem to understand
is what American Pride is.
We, as a nation, love football, but we love our nation and the flag which represents her
even more.
We common folk watch these games and buy their overpriced Chinese made merchandise because
we like the escape from reality.
But once the NFL turned into a political platform for protesting, us Americans said enough.
And we won't be going back anytime soon.
Fortune Reports:
The NFL Can't Keep TV Afloat Anymore Football ratings show no signs of reviving.
The NFL has long been the cornerstone of the U.S. pay television market.
Viewers' loyalty to their favorite teams and the tradition of watching games on Sunday
afternoons (and Monday nights) provided stability and certainty for stakeholders across the
TV ecosystem.
Mass-market advertisers could plan fall marketing campaigns knowing that NFL games would reach
just about everyone.
Broadcasters and cable channels (such as ESPN) could enter into long-term deals for broadcast
rights knowing that people would "always" want to watch football, creating an anchor
tenant for the rest of their programming lineup.
Last but not least, pay TV providers have long used their exclusive distribution rights
to NFL games as both a carrot (to attract new subscribers as DirecTV did with its wildly
successful Sunday Ticket package in the 1990s) and a stick (to keep existing households from
canceling service regardless of the cost or frustration many folks have with their pay
TV provider).
The question today, however, is what if this entire edifice is just a house of cards?
NFL ratings have fallen significantly across all providers over the past seasons and so
far 2017 is not looking any better.
The only positive element to that decline may be that fewer people have to watch the
sad sight of the Los Angeles Rams playing in front of a mostly empty stadium at the
Coliseum.
There are endless theories about the decline, from the rising popularity of video games
to player safety to (ridiculously) the Colin Kaepernick situation.
My own view is that declining NFL ratings are the logical outgrowth of the decline in
legacy linear television overall.
This larger decline has been going on for over a decade now; is rooted in a fundamental
shift to anytime, anywhere viewing on broadband devices; and affects all legacy TV programming
to one degree or another.
In short, contrary to the hopes (or delusions) of some in the TV industry, the NFL is not
immune to these larger societal and viewing dynamics.
The more important question is: What happens to the pay TV edifice when the NFL cornerstone
isn't there anymore?
The answers are multiple, but two are particularly important.
First, the link between household growth and pay TV growth has been irreparably broken.
The creation of a new household—most commonly by a young adult leaving home—used to almost
automatically result in an additional pay TV household.
That is simply no longer the case.
Millions of American households are living happily without pay TV and one of the reasons
is that Monday Night Football and other NFL games are simply no longer must-see TV.
Put another way, U.S. legacy pay TV households have peaked and will only decline going forward.
The second effect of declining NFL ratings is the slow collapse of the supersize pay
TV bundle itself.
If the NFL isn't must-have content, then nothing is must-have content.
The result is a mushrooming of skinny bundles from providers as varied as Sling TV, DirecTV
Now, PlayStation Vue, YouTube TV, and Hulu's Live TV.
These services vary pretty dramatically, seemingly agreeing only on three things: people want
cheaper pay TV offerings; what people want varies (including access to the NFL); and
half a loaf (in terms of monthly subscription fees) is a whole lot better than none.
What Goodell should have done is put a stop to this malarky when Colin Kaepernick first
decided, with the encouragement from his Islamic girlfriend, that it was a great idea to kneel
during the national anthem in order to deflect from the fact that he's just a poor player
and was on the cusp of being cut from the Forty Niner's organization.
That was the moment to stop it, now it's too late.
What the NFL should do now is concentrate on maybe trying to come back once all these
ungrateful and anti-American players have retired and are long gone from the sport.
And next time around maybe research who you hire.
Maybe it should take more than just the ability to toss around a ball to get you a multi-million
dollar contract.

And I called them yesterday and they seemed really nice and they said that as long as the customers don't mind,
Kuma can even sit inside instead of outside so really looking forward to this place.
This is in the Lake Wells area too so I thought I would just stop by
since I'm on a mission to find all these pet-friendly places thought this was the perfect place.

Hi! I'm Terdeas, and I survived second week of Inktober, yay!
I really have a reason to enjoy it, because ...
Shit ... I almost died
cause suddenly it turned out that I have a lot of things to do
And no, I'm not such kind of person who will be lying on the couch all day long
and then will complain that there is no time to do anything
Seriously I'm working every hour of every day
But still have no time for anything!
Why?
That's my fade
But I gathered all my desire, speed and ecs into fist
and did this 7 arts
But I need o warn you
that everything is so lazy here
Well. At least I have some arts, and I'm still holding on.
I started the second week with Walter (my oc)
And he's burning in fire
Attention, now you'll listen the Asking Alexandria song
I found this song on Youtube
And I love Youtube for his suggestions of songs for me
I noticed from this song that Danny've returned to the Asking Alexandria
And I thought, "Wow, I'm always learn all the news on time! Yay!"
Here I tried to do such a nice lightening from the bottom
This is the first time I've drawn such a lightening with ink
And one of the first drawings with such a shade at all
So I'm thinking it's okay
Actually I love this fire
But there is one problem, cause I think that the face is a lil bit flat.
But never mind
At second day I have Yana from Demonslayer (comics by Russian publishing house Bubble)
Overall, in Demonslayer vol2, I dint't like Yana's style at the beginning
and I didn't like her redesign (at the top of the new Yana, and the old Yana at the bottom)
And I didn't ktow whats wrong with it
cause I actually like such kind of style
So I guess I had a duck syndrome (in Russian we say so when we get used to something and it's hard for us to accept the changes XD)
But at the end I accepted changes, and even liked it
One thing I don't like is these strange pants
But this is just my imho
She was supposed to lean on the window
And in the window it supposed to be such a cool reflection
But I ended up leaving Balor's eyes (also a character from this comic)
Cause I can. or actually I can't XD
It was hard for me to draw this window
And I've just drawn Balor's tentacles

At first I colored it with markers, and then I wanted to deepen the color with the crayons

I had Aushan's crayons for dollar, and they did'n even draw
even on simple white paper
And I went to normal shop and buy normal ones for 6 dollars, lol
But I'm satisfying because at least they draw

But he is a jackass and doesn't want to sing
Eli always has a butthurt because of this, and I'm just laughing
I'm a stupid man, as are my characters, yep
And Eli sometimes try to play the guitar
Nobody teach her, she just trying to do her best to learn how to play the guitar
but it looks like she learned one song and think she is cool guitarist. (Mmm, just like me ... Just kidding, we know more songs)
And here came Neyton, who also can sing and nicely plays the guitar
He started playing, and Walter said that he has been playing better than Eli
And Eli was like: "damnit, stupid son of a bitch, I was trying my best, and you don't appreciate anything!"

As you see, I called my video...

I still don't know how I'll call my video, but there will be the name of Hollywood Undead in it
cause I drew most of these drawings listening HU's songs
I'm a big fan of them
And now I'm listening all their songs again, because they will release a new album soon
so I just refresh their old songs in my mind and I listen to new ones
Love them so much
And I was listening "How we roll" when I drew this one
I'll paste a piece of it here
And that would probably block my video because of copyright, but well

After 7 years of Walter's existence
or maybe not, all in all, Walter is my first oc
he was created even earlier than Eli
so he has about 10 years
And after 10 years I finally learned how to draw his face properly

I really have a lot of stuff to do now
We're planning an exhibition with my friend
And I have to prepare this exhibition, animation, things on my classes, inktober, video and ecs
