SOLEDAD O'BRIEN: Maurice Carter is the custodian

at Frontier Elementary School in suburban Denver.

It's his job to keep the school safe and secure.

Five years ago, that job took on a deeper meaning,

when a young boy named Reichen Posey

transferred to the school.

Reichen survived the shooting at Sandy Hook elementary.

And in his new school,

the young boy needed to feel safe.

-Did the other kids know about it? -No.

-He was the only one who knew. -He's the only one.

-This is a trap door. -(O'BRIEN CHUCKLES) He liked it?

Yep. He loved it because I showed him a lot of things

that no one was supposed to know.

It made him feel better, more comfortable, more safe,

and it makes me feel more comfortable, more safe

knowing that he knew it.

I just wanted him to be...

comfortable when he was here.

So, I showed him things that I thought would help him.

He's amazing because whenever I needed a break,

he would-- he would be the first one I'd go to.

Even if he was busy, he'd make time for me, to like,

you know, hang out with me and make me, like...

feel better.

WHAT LANGUAGE DO JAPANESE GIRLS and BOYS REALLY WANT TO SPEAK? - Duration: 8:37.

Rough and tough

I want to learn more about the German language.

French.

I learn German at university.

Hey guys and girls. This is Cathy Cat.

I'm gonna go and ask Japanese if there is a language they admire that they like that is not Japanese

So let's see what languages Japanese people are interested in and ask Japanese

German. Don't you think it sounds like a cool language?

Tell me what's so cool about it?

It sounds so rough and tough.

English. - English?

Why?

Because I like English

Should I speak in English?

Go for it!

I'm big fan of Michael Jackson

And I like movie in America so that's why I like speaking English

Yeah, did you also study by yourself after school? I did you travel abroad?

Yes, I've been to America for two weeks, and I've been to Australia five days

That's all. Almost I studied by myself like listen to music watch movies something like that.

So English. German English and...?

English!

I did traveling abroad.

Where did you go?

- UK. - YES UK!!!

Yeah!

What did you like in the UK

The difference of English

English accent? - Yes accent.

British and American accent

Which one is better? - British English.

British English won the race

but you're more American English I suppose.

Sometimes I study British accent...

Because it sounds cool. Yeah, I've never not sure

But yeah I like it.

You're trying to learn both accents the American and the British?

I like watching 007 Movies.

Yeah, I like it

Kings Men is another recommendation...

Oh yeah I am a fan of Kings Men!!!

It IS an AWESOME movie!

You could be in any country tomorrow and speak the language fluently

where would you go? What would you do?

England.

I'd love to

I'd love to speak better

In British accent. That's why I would love to be British someday.

I'd like to go to French. - France, ok.

What would you like to do there?

I'd like to see the museum.

The Louvre?

Ah Louvre, Louvre please.

Yes the Lou lou lou lala

Okay so that's what you're doing.

So if you went to Germany tomorrow and you could speak it fluently

What would you do?

How about chatting up chicks?

Alright I would hit on girls.

What's your best chat up line?

Come round my place.

Is there a language you admire? A language you would like to study?

All languages abroad sound really cool. Listening to them talking sounds cool

If you had to pick one out of all of them?

- American. - English.

Why? - It sounds cool.

English is cool.

I wanted to be able to learn English.

At university they make you pick another language and I chose Korean..

Oh so why did you pick Korean.

I picked it because it sounds cute.

There is no particular reason. If I learn it, I want to be able to speak it too.

I recently went to Taiwan.

So I learned a little bit of Chinese there.

There are many Chinese in Japan right now.

I thought I might be able to use that. So I learn it now.

But the pronunciation is really difficult.

There are many things Japanese people can't enunciate properly.

Its so difficult.

I actually learned English in Primary, Middle and High School.

But when you are already in University and your brain isn't as quick anymore

starting at new language at that point is pretty tough.

I want to be able to speak English normally.

I learned English in High School and I like it.

I want to know more about the German language.

I wanna go to Swiss. I want to go there some day.

- Please come! - I shall.

- Please please come! - Yeah ok.

So if you could speak the language tomorrow,, what would you do?

I want to speak with other foreigners. I want to talk about things l love.

About Once Piece and what they like.

I also think I would be able to communicate with foreigners.

I want to talk about the good things about Japan.

It has been my dream to go snowboarding in Swiss.

For that dream I want to be able to communicate.

- I want to speak with foreigners. - I want to speak with foreigners.

I would also like to be able to sing western songs.

I like a foreign artist, so I would like to talk with him.

Who?

1D.... One Direction.

I can't speak it at all and it's not getting better.

If I could just speak Korean I just wanna go and speak with the locals there.

I want to have a chat. I want to have a fluent chat. That would be nice.

French. I have a friend from France. They can't speak English either.

We can't communicate well. I want to talk with them.

There are expressions that we don't have in our language. It's cool.

English because it's a language a vast majority of people is speaking.

I always get made fun of because I don't speak English.

Would be nice to stun everyone by speaking French fluently instead.

I want to show off my language skills in front of other Japanese.

I am learning German in university.

It sounds hard and stiff but it's actually really cool.

It's developed the language of philosophy, economics and such.

I thought if I learn it I might be able to use it for my studies.

I am learning Chinese in University but...

But I am also learning law. Our law is a blend from French and German law.

German appears a lot in our law studies.

It's a language that we separate from my studies.

If I was able to speak it friendly, I would like to attend lectures

at a foreign university.

I would also like to eat the food in Germany and go on tourist tours,

learn about the language, and just enjoy being there.

I would like to go to Germany.

I like cars so I think of Munich's BMW...

I wanna drive on the Autobahn (no speed limit highway)

- German Eisbein tastes nice. - Does it?

- Eisbein? - My recommendation.

I want to help others out. Like when I get asked which classes to take

I would like to do the Senpai thing and tell them

Thank you so much.

Top number one language that Japanese are interested in is and stays English

There's a big issue here in Japan with Japanese people struggling to speak English

and many said they would like to first speak English properly

Before they maybe focus on another language

it used to be that many Japanese people actually studied German when they went into University

But recently English has become the big thing has been changing

and now French has become popular as well as well as Chinese and other

languages along the way that you can pick up in the university

so how about you which language are you actually interested in?

What do you like to be able to speak tomorrow

and let me know and if you would like to catch me speaking German then

maybe check it out on my

channel

(super large Chinese finger trap)

This is actually not connected to Ask Japanese but...

... it's a Chinese finger trap just that it's like a hand trap now because it's so huge

Anyways, catch you soon!

'Patrick Ewing and John Thompson on the NCAA' Preview | Real Sports w/ Bryant Gumbel | HBO - Duration: 1:44.

Recruiting is a difficult issue for everybody.

You know, I mean, as the FBI is finding out right now

you know, it's difficult, more difficult

for an honest coach than it is for a dishonest coach

because of the fact that people will ask you

why you didn't get a player if you didn't cheat.

They will ask you why you didn't win ballgames

when people who cheated won the game.

They will ask you why you don't get into the Hall of Fame,

when people who cheated go into the Hall of Fame.

So, why are so many acting like this is a new problem

for which they are going to somehow find new solutions?

Well, why when you find out, ask me-- tell me. (CHUCKLES)

Y'know, hey, they belong to the light house or the blind,

I mean, no disrespect to the blind

-but everybody -(BRYANT GUMBEL CHUCKLES)

in college basketball,

everybody in college basketball

can tell you the people who they think are violating rules.

To act now, like this is something new

is absolutely hypocritical.

Do you worry about your ability...

to compete effectively

if you're gonna follow the rules and others aren't?

(CHUCKLES)

Uh, you worry about it, but...

you know, you do the best you can with--

with what you-- with what you-- you have.

And, I suspect whenever a temptation comes up

you will think of your mom.

Oh, definitely. Definitely. Definitely.

Uh, I remember that-- that day when I was

first going out on my first visit and...

one of the things she told me was,

"Don't take anything from any of those people."

(INDISTINCT CHATTER)

ANNOUNCER: Vegas! On your feet!

And make some noise!

-(CROWD CHEERING) -These...

are your Vegas...

(HOLDS NOTE) ...Golden Knights!

(CROWD WHISTLING & CHEERING)

ANDREA KREMER: Joe and Gavin Maloof are the minority owners

of the Vegas Golden Knights,

the NHL's newest expansion team.

We met the brothers at the pre-season home opener.

-This place is sold out. -Yeah. (CHUCKLES)

-Yes. -Yeah.

The passion that's here in the city for this team

is-- it's real. It's not fake.

It's not phony. It's-- it's there.

Our season ticket base is probably in the top five

in the NHL already.

Living in Vegas for all these years...

would you ever have really thought that tonight

was a reality?

That you'd see a pro-sports team,

and, oh, by the way you happen to own it?

-(LAUGHING) -Whoa!

Well, we always-- we always hoped

-that that would happen. -Yeah.

But nobody ever got it done.

KREMER: While the Maloofs have owned NBA teams in other cities,

they always wanted to bring pro-sports home to Vegas.

Tonight, they finally succeeded.

You guys have owned teams before, but how different is it

with this team since it's the first professional team

ever in Las Vegas?

Maybe they'll put us down in history. (LAUGHING)

-GAVIN MALOOF: Maybe. -Maybe, who knows?

-ANDREA: Maybe? -Might get a little big.

Do you feel the historical nature tonight?

-Historic, historic. -Yes. Yes. Yes.

You know, so long, people never thought this was real.

Even when we announced season tickets, they were like,

-"Well, is it really gonna happen because..." -JOE MALOOF: Yeah.

-Yeah! (CHEERING) -(CROWD ROARS)

GAVIN: Yay!

Talking Tiny Episode 1 / Interview with Jaz Morton aka "Travel with Jaz" - Duration: 26:45.

Welcome to the very first episode of Talking Tiny

where we'll be talking about everything to do

with Tiny Homes and Tiny Living On this episode we'll be talking about

Stolen Tiny Houses and a Tiny Display Village and we have a special treat for you

We've got an exclusive interview with Jaz Morton

also known as "Travelling with Jaz"

So first of all we are going to be talking about

The Stolen Tiny Home

So a Tiny House Prototype was stolen from

a business in Canberra in the ACT in Australia On a Sunday night, someone heard a rustling

and it was taken all the way to Kingaroy, QLD

and they found it through the power of social media

Wow, so social media can be used for good! that is… that's great news

And the owner of the Tiny Home put it out on social media saying that

it has been taken, and then obviously people have sighted the Tiny Home

and let her know where it was and she was able to pass that information

onto the police and they found a gentlemen

and they've charged him, a 24 year old man Now what kinda of person steals someone's

house?

I have no idea So what do you think people could do..

If you have a Tiny Home, to prevent it from happening?

Well there's a few things you probably already have

that will help you So your iDevices; iPad, iPhone, iPod

they have the functionality that you may or may not

already be aware called Find my iPhone As long as you have that turned on

where ever that device is connected to wifi or a mobile [cell] reception

(It's going to track it) you can track it online

just by going to iCloud.com And if you are an Android lover

which I know there are people out there that are

You can use an app like Life360 which is similar to

Find my iPhone and basically does the same thing

So what do you think about maybe pulling the tires off the Tiny House, that

might sort of I guess deter someone from stealing it

Cause you could still have it registered as a caravan

even if you decide to move the wheels once you've installed it

where you are going I think that would be the ultimate solution

because they would not be able to move it at all

Unless they put the tires back on but that seems like a lot of work to steal a Tiny

House So there you have it, if you guys saw the

story or if you have any ideas on how you can keep

your Tiny Home safe Please let us know in the comments

So, story number two is about a Tiny Display Village

So a council planning commission has gone in

for Melbourne, in South Yarra To put in a Tiny House Display Village

A display village just for Tiny Homes Hang on, so can people actually buy and live

in these houses?

No living in the.. it's not a village for living in

It's just a village for display I believe the article a lured to something

like maybe people could stay there

in like a AirBNB type fashion but, I don't know

So, I personally think thought this was a great idea

It was a way of getting Tiny Houses out there I mean for me I think there is so many times

that a Tiny House is a good idea If you're a retiree

If you're a family If you're a single person trying to make

it into the housing market but maybe you've never

seen one and you can't wrap your head around it

or your parents are totally against it until they see one

So, yeah, I thought it was a good idea What do you think?

Good idea?

Absolutely, I think.. more opportunity for more people to see

an option that is beyond just a $500,000 house work for 30 years

where you can actually get a Tiny Home A custom Tiny House, that is, you know

well under that, $50,000 or less or a little bit more

So I think this is a good thing to get the word out

We just want more display homes around Australia So people don't have to, you know

travel so far to try and find it Exactly

And, I mean, in reading the comments that were on the page

There was some feeling that this was like, maybe um

consumerising something that was, you know in the spirit of Tiny Homes and free enterprise

and that sort of thing, that was maybe trying to take advantage of Tiny House owners and

builders Um I guess, that's up for debate?

Well I see it just like a Home Show We went to the Brisbane Home Show

People, businesses, brought their product to the people

and people actually paid money to go into this place to see products

and get, you know, advertise.. advertisement, um thrown at you

So I think (it's one big ad) And this is going to be, I think

Just another small step in the right direction for the Tiny House community

Exactly So let us know what you think about that

Tiny display home; good for tiny house exposure?

Or maybe commercialising something that should be more free enterprise?

So now we have the special treat for you where we had the opportunity this week

to sit down with "Travelling Jaz"; Jaz Morton

Who is taking a van and making it his tiny home

Is living the "van life" So we

Basically asked him a lot of interesting questions and we think you are going to enjoy this conversation

How are you guys going?

Good!

How are you?

I'm going pretty well, trying to a stay happy with this weather, it's really

rainy Yeah it's rainy terrible down here too

So, what made you want to do the van?

Um, aww I've actually had my best mates 'Cause I'm originally from Darwin

and some of my best mates are have been living in their van for

nearly, if not 5 years but travelling around Australia cause they're

musicians So they've just been doing that, like, you

know for ages now and they're parents even live in a converted

bus.. like truck thing (that is cool) Yeah, but they've just brought a property

on the um on the sunny coast

So their parents have got some land now and I think they're going to make something

a bit more stable But, aww just a mixture of like them

They're obviously inspired me I've got other mates that have lived in

a van Um

But I was living in um Bali for like a year

And I quite my job Moved to Bali, just adventured

Just had enough of the you know, the rat race That's huge (that's so cool)

Yeah I was like, I think I was Just turned 22, just turned 22 I moved to

Bali And I had sold like everything

My work ute I finished my um apprenticeship

So I was like a tradie, um a sparkie, and um

Yeah I was like f@*k this I'm just gonna go to Bali

Live the dream Yeah, so

That all worked out, that like I feel like

When I was living there I sort of

got more inline with my passions like sort of

knew what I wanted to do in life I don't know everything

but I knew I wanted to travel and everything so

You know, the only reason I'm back is cause I ran out of money

Damn it!

Yeah, cause I was there for 10 months and then um

I came back to Australia for 3 (months) And, but I'm like still in travel mode,

I still had money So my dad had a, like a shit box little van

at the time And I bought that like for $2,000 off him

And spent like $400 doing it up Yep, we've seen that on your blog, we love

it (yeah it looked great) Yeah that was that van

So I experimented with the van life back then I did that for 3 months, I loved it

Even though it was the most simple van ever And then I went back to Bali for 2 months

And I completely ran out of money and came back to Australia

And I've been here ever since Since July last year (2016)

Wow, that is so cool So what is the plan with the van?

Is it to travel straight away, or?

We saw your video this morning and you said you needed it

finished by years end (2017)?

"I've really gotta get a move on with this van because I have to get

it done before the end of this year, so…"

Well that's like, that's my deadline In fact my deadline was like

two weeks ago But um

Like yeah like cause I don't I wanna quit my job and

travel, that's like all I wanna do And like do, I love making YouTube videos

and the van videos but like

my favourite is making travel videos so Like, that's just my personal deadline

I don't like, I'm not going to die if I don't get it done by then

But you know, you've got to set deadlines

Put it out to the world, that's what we reckon

We were like, once we start our YouTube channel

it's gonna happen (yep) Yeah, pretty much, so

Like yeah, I've said I've had to get it done by the end of the year

Because in my head I want to finish up at work at the end of

the year Even though I'm thinking I might have to

work up until the end of January Just to have enough money, and stuff like

that But um

Yeah like, that's just like, it's just my personal deadline

And I wanna to start traveling next year, like ASAP, so

Yeah, I wanna do um like YouTube full time, like (yes!)

I want that to be one of my things, as well as my blog and the website,

but YouTube and making videos, like

Ive just like I've visualised for so long, making like travel videos

Like really cool ones Yeah that's why, that's like my..

Well you can tell, your videos are awesome Yes, we love them

Thank you, thank you very much There's something very meditative about

watching it I don't know if that's a word

But I just, I find them so calming Oh really?

You must be the like the definitive measure twice, cut once

Cause you make my OCD feel good Really?

Oh that's a good compliment, thank you Oh no no, honestly

Everything you watch in the video, like I feel like I do the best I can

with what I know It seems like, honestly

I make heaps of mistakes and

may sit there staring at things for like ages, like

I mean can't put that in cause you'd see me staring

at for an hour, so yeah, like, yeah

My version of making a van video is like Information, information, information

Like I just wanna, just get it all in because Otherwise the videos would go ten hours long,

you know?

So, even though they go for pretty long some of them

But, yeah, there is so much to cover Yes I know

So whose teaching you?

Like, obviously, have you watched anyone else do these videos?

Or Blogs?

Or..?

Of course I've watched other people And initially

like, I'll tell you the truth, like When I decided to do the van because

It all starts with inspiration, like I'll be watching you guys, you'll watch

me, like You watch other people and get inspired

So Before I even bought the van, I was like,

watching other people doing it Like, this is so cool

So then I bought the van, um And yeah, I remember being in this mindset

of like OK, I don't know how I can do it

But I'll watch everyone else But eventually after a while

I decided I'm gonna stop watching other people, anybody

else 'Cause

Procrastination, like, I'd just sit there Like I'd remember before I started this

build I couldn't go to sleep at night for 2 weeks

straight, cause like Too much in my mind

Yes I think that's how we've been with the

Tiny House too We've been watching people Tiny Houses forever

And now it's like Actually, no, we're going to do it

We're gonna step out and do it It comes to the crush and you're just like,

you know It's never going to be perfect

You know, ever, so In my mind I was like, I just gotta

It's fine to look at information, I've found

But you know, there's just so much information out there

You can just go down a YouTube spiral and stay in there for hours

Yes, that's the YouTube rabbit hole Yeah, so I had to like

I actually For like a while I feel like it's a while

I haven't really watched very many other people

Although, at the start, like I have gotten ideas, definitely from other

people Sorta of done my version of it

But For the most part of it, I sorta just winged

it to be honest That is awesome

So how much do you think it's gonna cost?

Oh man, I tell ya It just blows out doesn't it

It always does Time, budget, everything, like

Originally, before I bought the Mercedes Sprinter, before I was even looking at the Sprinters

I was looking at Toyota I can't

The big, the big, like Maxi Taxi stuff like vans

Um, and I like was budget, oh you know, like $8,000-$10,000, for like the whole thing

And I ended up buying the Mercedes Sprinter, which costs me $28,500

Wow Yeah, cause once I saw that I could stand

up I was like, I can't

Yeah you can't go back now Yeah I can't go back

So, $28,500 for just the van And so far I've spent $10,000 on the build

Um, but, the most expensive thing by far Which no one has seen yet, I haven't even

bought Is going to be the batteries systems, solar

and yeah that whole setup So it's lithium ion

I'm pretty sure Tesla probably be lithium ion?

Yes, yep, lithium So as you guys know, lithium ion are the best

but, they're the most expensive So, but, you know, like

I just look at it in a ways as I could buy a $500,000 house (yes)

Or I could buy a van that'll cost nearly $30,000

Kit it out for $20,000 - $25,000 And then have a house for $55,000, or something

like that you know, so If you look at it in that way

It's super super bloody cheap And it's a house, your backyard is Australia

Exactly I mean even if you were renting, you would

of been spending like, what $200-$300 a week So like close to $20,000 or $30,000 a year

The place I'm living in now is actually pretty bloody good

It's $160, but That includes Netflix, like, Internet

Stan, electricity, like everything is covered in that

And the location is good too, so it's good, but

Yeah, I'll probably spend about $8,000 roughly this year on rent, just rent (OK)

So that's just dead weight really But yeah, I estimated now that this van build

Including the cost of the van + the build Will be um

28+25, so round about $55,000, I reckon Which is like (That's good)

Which is so much more than I originally thought But, um

Yeah like, just as I said, did the battery system and everything

It's going to be like $10,000 Which is pretty ridiculous

Does that happen through a loan, or you saving up and you paying for it in cash?

Well, um, so To buy the van initially it's $28,500

I had something like $14,000 saved And I loaned the rest from my parents

So they loaned me like $14,000, so they fronted half

You know, trusty parents We've all been to the bank of mum and dad

Yeah for sure, so, um, they Yeah I pay them back as quick as I could,

so And it was like, interest free

That's awesome, that's the best way Yeah.

But now I've been like Like saving money, then like I gotta spend

some money So my bank account is up, down, up, down

But it's slowly getting up And um yeah, but my parents said if I need

to borrow a couple of thousand dollars (yep, to get you over)

I'll pay them back obviously, but Yeah just to finish this van build

So, but yeah most of it is from my money, that I've saved

That's awesome So will you be able to work as you travel?

In the van?

Or is that, hopefully YouTube will be the..

Oh well I'm not, I can't rely 100% on that, it's too unstable at this stage

So um, like, to be honest I'm a electrician

And I'll probably/definitely be able to pickup some work if I really want to, but

um Like I want a

I don't want to rely on that, like I want a

I'd would rather honestly Do something I've never done before

Something new So, you know

My mate was telling me he went around Australia fruit picking

All these other things, so like And he said that if I do fruit picking

The farmers will probably want electrical jobs done, so like

Oh yeah, pick up something on the side Yeah but, I dunno, I think it's gonna be

My income is gonna be from multiple sources I think, just random stuff

Until, you know, like I really start getting YouTube and everything going

Cause that's been my dream It's been my dream for ages, to have like

my own business, like online money, so, I dunno

I can't, I dunno yet, I can't answer those questions

That is so cool So was it quite cheap to live in Bali?

Oh, to give you guys an idea The first place I ever rented was $150 a month

What, wow Um, to rent my scooter, it was $60 a month

Which is like $2 a day Wow

Fuel was, $7 a week Food was, you know, barely, not much

Aww, what else do you have to pay for?

Like I guess I had to pay for odd things like visa renewals

Cause like, something like, $60 a month, you know

But in terms of, compared to Australia, it's just nothing

That's great Yeah, it was such a free lifestyle and paying

like nothing Surfing all the time

I can't wait to go back to be honest, like Like I think about Indonesia and stuff all

the time Oh that's great

Yeah, so, like Once this van is done I wanna do Australia

(yep) But it's gonna be my house in Australia

So I'm gonna be able to leave You know, wherever, and then come back to

my house which is my van, so Fantastic

So do you think the van will be, is it like a single person dwelling, or is there room

for two people?

I'm hoping that, allowing for two people You know, like a couple like yourselves, like

if wanted to live in a van, like It would be would be like that, but

Definitely couldn't fit five, five children in the van

Our daughter Winnie was like "Can we have a van house mummy?"

I'm like "They don't make a van big enough for us hunnie"

No, oh although Have you guys ever heard of Van Life Diaries?

No You definitely, 100%, should follow them,

Van Life Diaries Um, one of my good mates actually runs the

Instagram page and everything, but um They do events, like gatherings, in Australia

Oh yep So everyone vans, buses

You don't even have to have a van, you can just go

And just meet everyone doing the van life Yeah

And I went to the last one there was like There was like this bus that rocked up, like

a massive school bus, but it was like done up

Wow, that is cool There was five or six living in it, two, the

mum, dad and the kids you know So you guys could definitely do that

Yes, well our Tiny House will be on wheels The plan is we can always move it to wherever

we need to go So it won't be stuck there

It's not permanent I don't think it's designed to be like,

constant travel But it would be fine to move some place else

On like, you know normal roads But maybe not, going down, crazy dirt roads

(yeah, exactly) I'm actually keen to see how you do the

solar Like it's going to be a portable thing you

fling out, or That might be the next one as well I"m not

sure yet depending Cause I went to, like today, I've been trying to get the bloody solar

panels for a while, but the rep guy has been doing solar

installs up north It's just been back and forth, but

Um, yeah, that might be the next one But it's all going to be fixed to the roof,

like And then, I think the main five of them are

gonna be on like a hinge So if you need to clean underneath, or like

Work on the connections and stuff, it's gonna be hinged

So it's gonna be 4x small ones and 5x large ones

I'm using every like square inch of roof Of roof space, so are we

Yeah I have like two exhaust fans Which sort of lift up, having, doing it easily

So I had to be a bit, like, to think a bit Yeah, make them fit, but, I think I'm gonna

get enough solar It's gonna be 580 watts of solar

Which isn't that much compared to, you know, a house, but

Um, for a van, I'm not really, I'm not running

A electric stove or a electric heater for instance

It's all just small stuff, so I'm hoping that will be enough

But it's all trial and error, you know Yeah that'll be great

So, um Is the plan to like go right round Australia

or you don't know, wherever the wind may take you?

A bit of that, but like my rough plan, like I'm not sure if I want to go here up north

And then just to see it, and then back, all the way down the east coast

Um, across the Great Ocean Road Bang up the guts to Darwin

And then from there across to WA and everything I think it's gonna be like a "S"

'Aurora Survivor Finds Strength in Football' Preview | Real Sports w/ Bryant Gumbel | HBO - Duration: 2:04.

-The bullet... grazed his head. -Yeah.

LAURA MURPHY: Just went right over the top

and hit right in front of his face.

So, when it hit the wall, it hit in front of his face

and just... exploded.

And, of course, then he just kept running.

But um... that's one of the most beautiful parts

of his story.

Because he had always-- Being a football player,

a certain size and a certain weight

is very important.

And he had been recruited to play linebacker,

but he was only six feet tall.

And so, that was small for a linebacker

and they shifted him to fullback.

And he always just wished,

"If I just had those two extra inches,

if I was just 6'2," and he used to tell me all the time,

"Oh mom, I just wish I was just 6'2.

Just two more inches."

You know, and he'd stretch

when we'd measure him at the doctor.

But, the most amazing thing about that night is that

if he was 6'2 it-- the bullet would have hit him.

And it would have hit him right in the back of the head.

And it would have killed him.

So, he tells people, especially young people

who are struggling with their bodies

and who they are, and-- and...

you know, they're discontent with how God's made them.

He tells 'em all the time, you know,

"Be content where you are and you can still...

make an impact, you can still have a lot of purpose."

Jordan told me football is his therapy.

-Yes. -Has it always been that way?

More so since the shooting, for sure.

You know, because if you're struggling

and you're having a bad day and you're angry about...

something, you get to go hit somebody and...

If you're, you know, you just need a...

sort of a unifying moment,

you've got that whole team aspect

that unifies you.

What he's doing currently right now, with coaching,

you know, this is...

Because he has a new mission,

this gives him so many opportunities.

Constantly. You know, to tell these kids what really matters.

What really means something.
