4 Unsolved Disappearances That Have Been Solved - Duration: 12:29.

1.

Lula Cora Hood In 1970, a single mother named Lula Cora Hood

left her home in Galesburg, Illinois after a family argument and never returned.

She left behind her 15-year-old daughter.

Cora suffered from mental health problems and was in and out of her children's lives

even before she disappeared.

But this time she never returned to her family, who believed they would never hear of her

again.

There were no leads, no tips, no sign of what had happened to her.

She simply vanished.

Then, 15 years ago, mushroom hunters found human remains in a Galesburg brickyard.

After making a facial reconstruction, detectives believed that the bones belonged to Lula.

However they were unable to confirm this through DNA analysis as testing on bones could not

be done at the time.

Nonetheless Cora was assumed dead and the family buried the remains and held a memorial

service to say goodbye.

It seemed as if the mysterious vanishing had at last been solved.

For 13 years that grave would be considered to be Lula's, and the mystery would be case

closed, Untill 2009 when a fresh DNA analysis showed the remains interred 15 years ago were

not those of Lula's at all, and belonged to another unidentified individual.

After DNA ruled out Cora as a match for the remains, police reopened their investigation

with an online database search using her first and middle names and her date of birth.

Authorities were able to discover that an 84-year-old woman living in Florida was in

fact the long missing Lula Hood, and that she had a new family and had eventually had

14 children.

Even though Cora did not remember her daughter after all these years, they eventually reunited.

Incidentally, in 2013, the female remains were finally identified as another missing

woman named Helen "Ruth" Alps.

2.

Wendy Von Huben Sixteen-year-old Wendy Von Huben lived in

Woodstock, Illinois, with her family.

She was dating a nineteen-year-old boy named Jesse Howell, who had recently moved into

his own home.

On February 22, 1997, Wendy told her parents that she was staying over at a friend's house.

In reality, however, Wendy and Jessie ran away, after Jesse promised to take her around

the world.

When wendy didn't come home the next day, her parents reported her missing.

They later learned from her school that she had skipped classes up to a week prior to

her disappearance.

Wendy and Jesse went on a trip along with another couple.

During the trip, they slept in their friend's car and stopped in different states.

They ended up in Bradenton, Florida where they parted ways with the other couple.

Shortly after they ran out of money and lived under a bridge near Dade City for few days.

On March 19, Wendy called her parents and asked for $200 for a bus ticket back home

for her and Jesse.

A few days later, Jesse called his parents from a nearby truck stop.

He said that they were on their way home.

However, two days later, on March 23, Jesse was discovered bludgeoned to death near the

railroad tracks in Marion County, Florida.

He had been struck from behind and there was no evidence of a struggle.

There was still money in his pocket and a half-smoked cigarette on the ground.

A small drop of blood on his jacket was believed to belong to Wendy.

However wendy was nowhere to be seen.

Several weeks later, on June 4, Wendy's parents received a phone call from Wendy in which

she said, "It's me, Wendy!" and then hung up.

She then called again and told her father that she was at a gas station in Kankakee,

Illinois.

However, the conversation was so short, her father was not sure that it was actually her.

Police tracked the phone to a Phillips 66 gas station.

After viewing surveillance videotape, they spotted a teenage girl that matched Wendy's

description.

Her parents watched the tape and agreed that the girl was Wendy.

Police estimated that the tape was filmed within minutes of the phone calls.

Some local drifters told police that Wendy was travelling with a one-legged railroad

car rider known as "Bob," who has since been identified as Bobby Ray Taylor.

In April of 1998, the drifter named Bobby Ray Taylor was located.

He denied ever being with Wendy and it was determined that he was not involved in the

case.

In July of 2000, Angel Resendiz, also known as "The Railroad Killer", confessed to killing

Wendy and Jesse.

He claimed he met Wendy and Jessie on March 21, 1997, in a large railway yard in Baldwin,

Fla., where hobos and the homeless are known to live.

Sometime that night, they got on a grain car heading south.

Wendy and Jessie began asking Resendiz where they could get jobs without having identification.

He told them he was going to work the orange fields and told them he could show them where

they are.

By March 23, they had traveled about 85 miles when the train stopped just short of Ocala.

Resendiz got off, and Howell followed him.

Resendiz then took a rubber hose lined with heavy metal that is used to connect rail cars

and hit Howell over the head, killing him with one or two blows.

Resendiz said he got back on the train alone, and he and Wendy went on.

Wendy didn't knew what happened to Jessie at this point.

Resendiz told investigators he and wendy got off the train in Oxford, where he tied her

up, then choked her to death with his arms about 35 feet from the tracks.

He said he covered her body with a military jacket he was wearing and a blanket.

Resendiz led police to Wendy's remains, which were found fifteen miles from the spot where

Jesse was found.

DNA and jewelry found on the remains confirmed her identity.

Resendiz confessed to at least nine other murders.

Police believe he was responsible for at least fifteen murders dating back to 1986.

He was executed in June of 2006.

3.

Pamela Jackson And Cheryl Miller ON the evening of May 29, 1971, 17 year-old

Cheryl Miller and 17 year-old Pamella Jackson were on their way to a high school party in

Vermilion, South Dakota, driving in a beige 1960 Studebaker Lark.

The car was Cheryl's grandfather's.

The girls stopped at the local church and talked to some boys after visiting Cheryl's

grandmother in the hospital earlier that day.

The boys were going to the same party Cheryl and Pamella were.

They agreed to follow the boys to the party in their own car.

However, the boys missed a turn and accidentally drove past the party.

When they turned around they no longer saw the Studebaker's headlights.

They figured the girls had simply lost the nerve to attend the party.

The celebration went on, but the girls and the Studebaker would not be seen again, until

2013.

In the following weeks, volunteers and law-enforcement officers searched the gravel pit, surrounding

roads and even the nearby Missouri River.

But their efforts yielded nothing.

The mystery persisted, year after year, for more than four decades.

Authorities had their theories about the girls' disappearance.

At first, they believed the girls to be runaways because of their ages.

Other thought they runaway to a hippie commune in California.

Soon, A man named, David Lykken, already serving a prison sentence on unrelated charges was

indicted for murder in the deaths of Miller and Jackson in 2007.

However, the charges were dropped after it was found out an inmate faked his confession

about Lykken's involvement in the case.

Then, on September 23, 2013, a fisherman who was fishing by South Dakota's Brule Creek

noticed two wheels sticking out from the creek's embankment.

Investigators recovered the car from the embankment, which was caked with mud.

The location of the creek is in an area that is rarely traveled.

It is 30 miles east of Vermillion, almost right on the Iowa border.

Record flooding followed by a drought is what brought the upside-down car into view.

Days later, it was reported that their were two sets of skeletal remains found inside

the car.

The remains were later confirmed to be those of Miller and Jackson.

According to officials, the victims' vehicle was stuck in a third gear, the lights were

on, and their skeletal remains were in the cabin.

One of the tires on the car was damaged.

The car keys were found in the ignition.

Investigators also recovered Miller's purse, which contained her driver's license, photos

and notes from her classmates.

Those factors pointed to an accident and the case was finally closed after 43 years.

4.

Lucy Johnson In 1965 Lucy Ann Johnson, mother to a son,

David, and a daughter, Linda, vanished.

Her husband Marvin Johnson reported her missing from their home in Surrey, British Columbia,

near Vancouver, Canada, in 1965, but upon further investigation police were alarmed

to find that, after talking to various neighbors, it seemed Lucy had not been seen since September

of 1961.

Based on witnesses reporting that Marvin had been digging a septic field in the yard a

few months prior, the Surrey Royal Canadian Mounter police dug up the yard of the home

which was located near 103rd Avenue and 145th A Street in North Surrey, but found nothing.

Lucy Ann Carvell, born in 1935 in Alaska met her first husband Marvin Johnson and married

in Blaine, Washington, later moving to Surrey.

After reading a profile of her mother, considered British Columbia's oldest missing persons

case, Linda evans, decided to take matters into her own hands.

Knowing that had her mother been alive she would have been in her late 70s, Linda Evans

committed herself to uncovering the truth of her mother's disappearance before she

herself got too old.

Linda's father remarried after her mother's disappearance and later passed away in the

late 1990s, and Linda's brother David died as a teenager, so Linda knew she was the last

chance at finding out the truth.

Utilizing the bare bones facts she knew, (Linda was only seven or eight years old when her

mother disappeared) Linda set out on her own investigation.

She posted an advertisement in a local newspaper, the Yukon News near her mother's birthplace

giving her mothers name, birthdate, birthplace and physical description (5'5, olive complexion,

dark hair) as well as her grandparents names.

Linda hoped to make contact with somebody, anybody, who might know her mother's fate.

In 2013, Shortly after posting the ad she received a call from a woman from Yukon, in

the Northwesten Territory of Canada, next to Alaska, who believed that Linda's mother

might be her mother as well.

Linda was shocked to find that her mother was not only alive but that she had a new

family, With three sons and one daughter.

Weeks later, Linda flew that 1,200 miles from Vancouver to the Yukon Territory where her

mother now resides.

When asked why she vanished, Johnson claimed that her husband Marvin, Linda's father,

deceased in the late 90s, was abusive and unfaithful and unscrupulously banned her from

the house without informing the children.

Linda is not sure if she believes the story as it seems highly unlikely that a mother

would leave her children so voluntarily.

Linda was skeptical at first but she ended up believing her mother.

Linda, now in her late fifties, is considering moving to the Yukon Territory to Live near

her mother and make the most of their years left together.

There's 'no limit' to Kylian Mbappe's future after breakout game vs Argentina ESPN FC - Duration: 3:23.

we welcoming Juliana on to the show one of the happiest men in London I imagine

at the moment jaws you must have thoroughly enjoyed that because there

were so many questions about France going into this clash and he answered a

lot of them over that 90 minutes didn't they yeah you're right there was loads

of pressure on the show on the players on the key players in the team Griezmann

Pogba and even in by pay himself you know despite being so young and I think

the answer the law of the questions of those questions I think the boys are

right Argentina were not very good they were not very good earlier in the

tournament they were not very good today either but still I think you have to do

price France for the way they played for the the plan date they go and worked you

know much really on the left-hand side did well for this team and by pay

obviously a 19 years of age is just incredible and you know no bragging here

but on this show we were the first one to say to the whole world

listen there's this kid coming through he's going to be amazing and we were the

first one to say and it's one thing to do it for Monaco first and it's one

thing to do it for PSG with more pressure and more expectation it's

another thing to do it on the biggest stage of all against you know some of

the top players in the world in a game like that in knockout stage of the World

Cup and it's just incredible and there's no limit for him Joe did you think

France we're going to get knocked out why you're back in London Ravis rough

stuff sort of sort of lazy can't get him out the room I feel lock him up because

Jeremy Jules come and watch in London we've got mark courtier inside not even

there who's he follows some polish brings up like when we used to watch the

Champions League together when batter you how about incredible Roman Monaco

you knew I mean yeah I get it I think a lot of people we've talked about he's

not he's not a star today he's been he's been a star for a while but I mean a

World Cup homage Rodriguez dead in 2014 can really announce yourself but I don't

think it's any surprise what gets me is not his skill level or his pieces of

conference never seen well I've really seen such a

confident teenager and that that's one of the biggest assets you can have

because when a player loses confidence no matter how talented it's tough to get

back but he is super super confident a confident teenager without being

arrogant in the way looks that way yeah and that that in itself I think it's

something because we could say well a teenager whenever name I was a teenager

but you could tell her the guy was gonna be a pain in the backside

yeah were you looking at my pay you're like look there's still even more space

for him to get better and you see him performing today and Matt said I know he

could still be running along Sian bop and there's no chance he's catching and

nobody in Argentina was ever gonna catch him because he's got something that none

of those guys ever has and that's athleticism the speed and then oh by the

way he puts that together with skill and ability to finish a play it's just a

total package how high is his ceiling well I said yes he's gonna be the next

superstar isn't he cristianos 33 I think Leo was in his thirties isn't he

early thirties forget Neymar he's the he's the superstar of the future isn't

in the fact that he it's just so easy to talk platitudes about him but you a 19

year old you know a 19 year olds it's exceptional what he's doing at this

moment in time

Will Lionel Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo Play At Another World Cup - Duration: 3:52.

let's start with Messi cuz it is all about Messi this is the last time we're

seeing him in an Argentine shirt do you think I think so and you show the

reaction post the Copa America defeating the final two Chile team that they beat

in the group stages and you can understand know this not just this team

is in disarray and it's not just about the 11 or some paola or whoever may take

over all the way to the very top of the Argentinian football association is an

absolute shambles and when you're a player not just of little Matt and

little Messi's talent but used to things being didn't done a certain way a

certain sense of professionalism when you play at clubs that like like

Barcelona everybody from the guy or lady who's cutting the grass to the guy or

lady serving 70 post-training meals there's a sense of professionals and a

sense of pride that goes into every single job yet you look at Argentina and

now admittedly I'm looking in from the outside you don't get that feeling about

anything in arjen Argentinian national team set up and as a result just out of

a professional pride you you want to step down this not so much about the

defeats you're the man of the defeat so when they happened only three finals in

a row but just a certain amount of pride in what you do from day to day and if

everybody else if nobody else can live up to my expectation or what I'm doing

or my example eventually just step away and so yes I think I think yes for those

reasons uruguay fruits the quarterfinals then with a 2-1 victory over portugal

deserve winners thanks or just pretty even I'm in the Portugal well or

pressure in the second half but I think the big difference was there was for

most of the game a two-pronged attack from Uruguay and just really Ronaldo up

front never didn't really have anybody assist them almost all the tournament

they were tried different formations different personnel but Uruguay just too

strong particularly in that department tough team to play you're yes they are

yeah and we knew that as soon as they got the second goal that was a nice goal

by Giovanni that they were more than happy just to defend the rest of the

game I wasn't offense the very strong we know how how well

Marshall er at the back and it just went good enough in the final third Portugal

they just didn't have that cutting-edge tip to get through them Cavani was the

cutting edge for Uruguay how good was that second goal yeah the whole build-up

was great you you think of how Uruguay was able to score was basically on

counter-attacks which in the field on the first one I really haven't seen a

goal come off someone's face before them and when you just have to put it they

all laser quite a ball in

but if you look at the way your glide played I think you know they had to come

up with something else they weren't able to really break down as far as crosses

into the penalty area Hindman isn't go Dean were excellent and just weren't

able to come up the answers and you nervous I was they just know who they

are all the way and they're fine with it they accepted there's nothing about them

that that feel some comfortable we look we're just gonna defend here because we

know we're good at this and we know that we have two guys up there that can

resolve the game for us and in the end essentially that was the case is we

defend it well we're loud come on your score that goes to one see you guys

later see Ronaldo enjoy your season the only

disappointing part sorry is that it looks as if Kevon ease yeah injured and

might miss the rest of the tournament which would be sad fit fit was

personally for him of course well particularly for your away because you

know as Ally rightly said they do they depend on those two awful on so much

don't day and you know when they look to the bench they haven't got the quality

of the Cavani or a Suarez to turn to

Painful Elbow from Playing Pickleball? - Duration: 9:04.

You're starting to feel a little bit of pain in your elbow. Maybe it's on the top

of the elbow, maybe it's underneath but hey you're pretty tough you're going to

play through it. That might not be the best course of action, especially if it's

a case of tendinitis starting. I've got a couple tips for you today on how to

avoid that so that you can stay healthy and be out on the courts longer. Stay tuned.

Hey everybody it's CJ Johnson. If you're brand new to this channel welcome!

You're going to find all things pickleball here. From paddles and equipment to

skills and drills, to tips on staying fit and healthy so you can spend more

time on the courts. If you haven't already done so if you wouldn't mind hit

the subscribe button over here and then the little bell notification. That way

you'll know anytime that I post a new video. It also tells YouTube that this

channel is important and it makes it easier for other people who are

pickleball players to find this channel too. I was a golf professional for well

over 25 years when I started playing pickleball. I never had a case of

golfer's elbow all the tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of balls

that I hit never had that injury, until I started playing pickleball. Wow talk

about the pain! That's what we're going to talk about today is how to avoid tendonitis.

So what exactly is golfer's or tennis elbow. Well tennis elbow tends to be on

the top of the arm and golfer's elbow tends to be on the bottom. It's an

inflammation of the tendons around the joint it can be extremely painful. In

fact I was talking to somebody today and just when she was walking and hiking

swinging her arms was uncomfortable for her and needless us to say that has

definitely kept her off the pickleball court. Here are some of the things that

we can do to keep golfer or tennis elbow at bay. Number one take a look at your

equipment. Now paddles range in weight from somewhere around five and a half

ounces up to a very heavy weight of nine. I know that a few ounces doesn't sound

like a lot but if you multiply that out over a few hours on the pickleball court

a couple of days a week that can really add up to a lot of strain on the muscles

and the tendons in the forearm. So it's important to have an appropriately

weighted paddle for you. Now I tend to prefer a paddle that's right around 7.7

ounces that seems to be something that's extremely comfortable for me. You might

have to try them them out just a little bit play with them over a period of time

and see what's best for you but if you're starting to get some strain on

your arm you might want to consider the weight of the paddle. The next thing that

you want to look at in your equipment is the size of your grip. Now paddles come

with small medium and large grips and certainly by using over wraps and

changing the grip tape you can change the width of your grip. If you have a

grip that's too small or a grip that's too large and you have to hold on to it

tighter that's going to cause a lot of tension in that forearm and put a lot of

strain on those tendons. Now you might be saying CJ how do I know if it's the

right grip size for me well you can certainly ask somebody at your

pickleball courts or one of your tennis professionals for some help they'd be

able to give you some suggestions but here's kind of a general rule of thumb.

If you're using a continental grip which places the V on this side of the paddle

on that upper bevel of the paddle an appropriately-sized grip you're going to

be able to place about one finger in between your fingers

and your thumb.

Speaking and grips one of the things that you want to watch is

your grip pressure. Most of us have way too much tension in our grip that puts a

lot of tension up into the forearms. It makes it difficult to hit shots but it

also puts a lot of stress on those tendons. One of the things that I like to

do between points is I take my paddle hand off I put my paddle in the other

hand and I just kind of shake out my arm. The third thing to look at is the type

of paddle that you're using as an example this is a blade. I have to tell you I

loved playing with the blade for two days and then what I found is anytime I

caught a ball off the sweet spot out here towards the end of the paddle I

felt a lot of twist in my arm. Since I was already having some discomfort and

pain in that arm I knew that it was going to cause me more problems over the

long run so I stopped using the blade paddle and went back to a traditional

paddle. Take that into consideration when you're choosing your paddle. The second

thing you want to look at are your mechanics. If you're executing some shots

and you're using a very unorthodox position maybe you're turning, you know

hitting this very spinning serve and turning the arm and the elbow in a very

strange way chances are you're putting some stress and strain on the muscles

and the tendons and that could be inflaming that area. My best advice is get

a person, one of your local pickleball professionals and make sure

that you're executing your shots correctly and not adding any additional

stress to what you're already doing. The third thing is what are you doing before

you play pickleball. Are you warming up? If you're not already warming up or you

don't know why you should warm up make sure you click on the video that's

coming up above. I've got several videos that tell you why it's important and

exactly what you should be doing. When a lot of us finish playing pickleball we

are off to have some dinner or maybe some drinks with our friends that we

just played with that's part of the fun of playing the game but if you spend

just a few minutes afterwards taking care of that sore forearm it may not

develop into tendonitis. This week I'm going to send you

links to two different videos one for golfer's elbow and the other one for

tennis elbow with the top things that you can do to alleviate your pain. Iif

you're not already part of our Better Pickleball Community it's completely

free and you can check out all the details in the show notes down below. In

the meantime, I'm going to share with you some of the things that I like to do

once I get off the pickleball court that helped me to feel better. The first thing

that I do when I get home is I grab a bag of peas, a bag of frozen peas. It's a

very easy to ice that arm with this bag of peas. They're extremely flexible and it

can be used time and time again. The next thing I do is a little bit of self

massage. I love trigger point therapy. This is the

therapy ball and then this is called the footballer. I put this on a flat surface

and then I simply roll my forearm against it and it takes out some of

those knots and that tension that developed while I was playing. Another

one of my favorites is an nice bath and in that bath I use some essential oils

and some epsom salts. I take about a cup of Epsom salt and I mix into it about

two or three drops. This particular one is called Move it's a combination of

wintergreen and juniper essential oils and it's designed to help our muscles

feel better to reduce some of that swelling and to take away some of the

stress and strain that we've put on the muscles all day. The other way that I

use the essential oil is I mix it with some coconut oil which is a carrier oil

and I put it in a small rollerball and before or after play I can rub it

directly onto my skin providing immediate relief. Another one of my

favorite homeopathic remedies is Arnica Gel and you'll find this in most health

food stores you might even find this at your local grocery store it's become so

popular but arnica is a plant and this gel is designed to help to alleviate

swelling and bruising and just in general make those muscles feel better.

You can put this on before or after you play but usually I put this on right

before I go to bed.

Know this that by taking care of this before you get it

it's a way easier than treating it. In fact tendonitis usually takes a very

long time for it to go away. You may end up seeing the doctor,

multiple times, having to take a lot of time off pickleball perhaps a regimen of

anti-inflammatories, a variety of different things. So by spending a

little time in the beginning, making sure that your equipment is correct, that

you're doing some stretching, that you're rolling, doing some self release maybe a

little icing you might just be able to stay healthy and stay out on the

pickleball courts. If you've had a case of golfer's or tennis elbow put down in

the comments below what you did to get rid of it. We can all learn from each

other. If you got value from this video if you wouldn't mind giving it a little

thumbs up and sharing it with your pickleball playing friends because together we can

Quiccs Interview at Toy Con 2018 PH - Duration: 17:38.

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Rookie Collectibles.

I'm Daniel and I'm Cheryl.

And today we have a special guest.

We are here at Toy Con Philippines and we have Quiccs!

Alright, so we are going to do a quick interview session with him and find out more about what

awesome stuff he has cooking.

So let's begin, Quiccs..

First of all, congratulations!

Yes, congratulations!

How could we forget that.

Congratulations on the DTA (Designer Toy Awards), that's Artist of the Year, fan voted, which

is mad awesome.

So congratulations to that.

Thank you.

So we are really excited to be able to interview you today.

Lets start chatting about TEQ63, which is where everything is at right now.

Alright.

So can you tell us more about TEQ63, the inspiration behind it, what's it all about?

So, TEQ63.

Its like, if Disney has Mickey Mouse, I have TEQ63.

That's a good start! Wow

TEQ is a character that is an amalgamation..combination

of my influences growing up.

So during the 80s, I watched alot of Force Five and through the 90s, Gundam, Evangelion,

Mazinger Z.. so I really love Japanese robots.

Also during the 90s, I was heavily influenced by the American Hip Hop scene.

And I'm also a big fan and practitioner of graffiti art, since the early 2000s I've always

been a fan of graffiti even although there wasn't a scene in Manila before.

But when I met some new friends, during 2012, guys like..

Tripp63, Exiled.. people who are known in the Graffiti scene in the Philippines.

I also fell in love with it so I also practised and studied about graffiti as well.

Awesome, and we see all of that combined in to the work of Quiccs.

Yes, especially, the TEQ63 character is a combination of that.

That's pretty cool.

TEQ63 is also the mascot of Toy Con PH this year and that brings us to Manila Killa.

Can you tell us more about it?

We do see the Manila, or Philippines Flag rather, featured prominently on the character

this round.

And here we go, this is the Manila Killa.

Thats, pretty cool, tell us more about it.

This is the, 10th I think.. 10th colour way for the series.

Wow, it is the 10th colour way, nice.

Ya, I just wanted to come up with a colour way that represents the Philippines.

You know, a lot of our athletes like Manny Paqiao sports the jacket that looks like the

Philippines flag.

And we see it coming across very clearly in the design here.

When the organisers invited me to be here, I thought of coming up with a colour way that

represents Philippines in the best way because Toy Con Philippines is one of the first conventions

that was formed, to be a yearly thing.

Prior to Singapore Toy Con, Thailand Toy Con, we already had this Toy Con.

It started off as a simple humble convention for people who are into toys.

They would come.

And now, and its kind of evolving.

Yes, it has gone really far since then.

I wanted to ensure that my vinyl toy, my designer toy.

In the first place, designer toys, by the way, isn't that popular in Manila yet.

It's just starting to pick up.

That's good to know.

So me, being part of this convention, it was an honour for me to be able to come up with

a TEQ63 that is iconic to the Philippines as a country and also for me as well as a

designer of Art Toys.

I think you have done a great job so far, it's coming across very well in TE63 Manila Killa.

Thank you.

So speaking of that, lets move on to a couple of the other characters.

We have Sharko and Remi and the Ghost of Kurosawa, which sounds mad badass and not only that,

it looks badass.

Lets talk about Sharko and Remi first.

What is the inspiration behind that and yeah, just tell us more about this Evangelion colourway,

it looks so cool.

And he kinda mentioned about it coming from his childhood watching anime and loving Evangelion

this is a fantastic piece, so tell us alittle more about the design of Sharko and Remi.

Sure, so I wanted to come up with a character that I can make a toy out of and represent

my style in the Sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl) category.

So I came up with like another tech type of guy who also wears like a mechanical or robotic

helmet but has more of an aesthetics that can reflect more of a Sofubi, Kaiju (Beast)

kind of thing going on.

So one thing I've noticed is that TEQ63 has more of a rabbit kind of helmet?

Is that right?

And Sharko is kind of a shark.

So is this something that is going along with your other designs as well in the sense where

the helmets represent different animals?

No, not animals.

Actually TE63 is more heavily influenced by Gundam.

Oh yes, I can see the resemblance there now.

And Sharko and Remi is more like Evangelion.

Yes exactly, not many people pick that up.

Sharko looks like Unit 01.

And you are right, I tried to look for a combination of a shark, an animal.

I am a real big fan of Unit 01. I am a big fan of that design.

Will we ever see like.. more?

Unit 02 and unit 00?

Yea.

I will make more.

Really looking forward to that!

So actually this colour way is very significant too, it homage to the show.

Right!

Which was why it caught our attention the most.

Alright lets talk about the Ghost of Kurosawa.

Oh you actually brought a box here.

This is actually a collab or a co-creation, the character itself is a co-creation with

a Singaporean!

You might know him.

Yes, FLABSLAB right?

Big names in Singapore there.

It started out.. he invited me to create a character because he loves Star Wars.

So he invited me to create a character which namely reflects Darth Vader.

So we realized that this is more doll and figure like.

Yes, I have my 1/6th scale line which started with TEQ63.

Oh this guy here Ghost of Kurosawa was what I wanted to pay homage

to George Lucas as a director.

In the things that inspired him to do Star Wars Episode IV.

So I think a lot of you guys know that George Lucas was heavily inspired by the director Akira Kurosawa who made films such as

Throne of Blood and more significantly, the movie entitled

Hidden Fortress which was the basis for Episode IV.

And of course George Lucas had a lot of influence as well for Star War the series from World War II.

So its about World War II.

Which is why there is the armband.

So like a combination of all of his influences, so ya Darth Vader...the crown, Akira Kurosawa

is represented by the Shogun, the Japanese warrior.

There's one thing I've noticed as well, alongside with TEQ63 is that there is a sneaker influence

on it.

That comes from by Hip Hop culture.

We also understand that Filipinos have have a very strong sneaker culture here as well.

Yep.

I've always sported Adidas Superstars since College.

Right, so that is why with all of them as well, we do see the three stripes!

That's pretty cool.

Okay, thanks for telling us about this.

Next up, we do have a lot of viewers that are Funko fans and we do notice that you have

made something that is very much of a Funko style.

I think its.. here.

There we go.

Do tell us more about that, I think everyone would love to hear more about this as well.

Ya, I'm very curious as well, are you a Funko collector?

No *laughs* So you actually connected with your fans and

found out that there are Funko collectors in the Philippines?

Yes, there are.

I actually considered it as some sort of a gateway thing, because Funko pop is a little bit

like a designer toy but not really because of its production it but at least it introduces

people to Art Toys as well.

That's exactly how we feel as well.

A little bit of both.

So I call this figure Forbidden TEQ.

Why "Forbidden"?

Because its like Bootleg *laughs* (that's one way to do it)

Yeah, playing along with Funko's style with my own take on it.

So its head is detachable, I used magnets, just because the material is resin, and if

I use pegs, it will be a little inconsistent, the fit isn't too well.

That's the technical side of artist toys.

And with resin we can get some articulation and the fit will always be perfect.

So we get more flexibility with the toy as well.

So the background on this toy.

I have the habit of what ever platform or toy type that you throw at me, I like putting

my own style into it so that's why I have small toys, big toys, dolls and it was a challenge

for me to customise Mickey Mouse.

So this was actually based off Mickey Mouse.

Oh ya!

The feet!

The feet is pretty much like that.

So for Mickey Mouse..I think I can make Mickey Mouse like TEQ63, so it was more of a personal challenge

Yea so this looks a little more cartoonish?

This is basically how TEQ63 will look in a Funko Pop form.

And I think it translates pretty well here.

And this is kind of like the size of a Funko pop as well?

Yep Exactly, with of course the base idea of the figure as Mickey Mouse.

Well I think that look pretty awesome, who knows, maybe if you guys vote even harder,

we can get this actually made into a real Funko.

Yeah lets get licensing done for that.

I think this would look awesome if it was also like in the Funko pop box size so we

can put it along side our Funko pops as well.

But I think its a very well done piece too.

its really adorable.

Yea I tried to replicate it.

Thanks for talking to us about Forbidden TE63.

Yeah one thing about the packaging is that its replicated from a Funko pop box.

Yeah I think it's done very well.

Its a mini version of a Funko pop!

So now we have all these products over here.

Maybe you can tell us, or give us a little sneak.

What can we look forward to in the coming months, years and are there any collaborations

we could look out to as well?

Yes, in particular I am very excited for my collaboration with a Korean toy company called

Anatoys.

So we collaborated like how I did with TEQ63 in the Funko Pop, this is how TEQ63 will look with Anatoys

And he's call ANA TEQ.

And what I'm holding now is a prototype and they actually opened the pre-selling of this.

There are pre-orders now, it will be shipped sometime in September.

and we will be coming up with 3 colourways.

So we will leave more links in the description below for people who are interested in getting that.

But alongside that, are there any other colour ways like with TEQ63 or Sharko that we could

look forward to?

Of course, of course.

Series 2 has just started with the black TEQ.

I don't have it here.. we have around 10 to 12 colourways planned for the next 2 to 3 year.

Wow that's doubling your colour way collection currently.

Its going to be over a long period of time, slowly.

And the Sharkos of course will still continue to have more colour ways.

Also I've recently released Zeta.

With Devil Toys.

It's a combination of TEQ63 and Mazinger Z.

Ah, its alright.

We will leave links in the description below for anyone who wants to check it out.

Yea, show them a picture.

For sure.

Okay, thanks for giving us a quick overview of this.

We are now going to go into a quick, I hope fun for Quiccs, segment which involves us

passing him on of these.

Now this is a DIY funko pop.

It's plain for now.

We are going to give him a couple of markers and he is going to design anything he wants

best to his character and style and we will have this displayed at Simply Toys.

So on to the montage.

And we are done!

Thank for doing the custom for us Quiccs.

If you guys want to check it out, head down to Simply Toys at Plaza Singapura and it will

be on display there and yeah!

Quiccs do you want to say anything, do a shout out or a plug in to your fans.

Thank for watching this episode, if you want to see my works and want to get updated with

my recent releases, you can follow be at Quiccs on Instagram and on Facebook.

Thank you.

We will leave that in the description as well, so do check that out.

But before we go, as a thank you, here is a Funko pop for you; from both Simply Toys and us.

This one is the Merlion.

It's our local Kaiju.

Thank you Thank you very much again, we hope to see at the next con.

And see you guys, thanks for watching this episode, catch you guys in the next one. Bye!
