Video of the Day January 19-February 9 - RenovatedMars - Duration: 10:49.
It's been over a month since I made the last video of the day video, and since that video
I have added over 45 videos to the Video of the Day playlist.
Before I talk about every video I've added to the playlist since that last Video of the
Day video, I want to urge everyone who hasn't already to subscribe.
Every weekend, I'm always trying to get videos out for all of you guys, but I'm often finding
myself with very little time to work on one.
If you want to know when one of my projects is finally released, please consider subscribing.
Your subscription also helps me make higher quality videos as I can better tailor my videos
to things you would like to see.
Thanks for helping my channel grow, now let's get into the videos.
On January 20, I added PewDiePie's "Is YouTube Screwing Over Small Channels?" to the Video
of the Day playlist.
In this video, PewDiePie explains how YouTube's then new advertising policies are actually
not that big of a deal for people who are looking to make money from YouTube.
I think this video does a great job explaining why people have no need to be upset over channels
missing out on four dollars, and that's why I included it in this playlist.
There were three other videos I watched that day that are worth mentioning: "Star Wars:
The Last Jedi" by I Hate Everything, "How Star Wars Theories KILLED Star Wars: The Last
Jedi!" by The Film Theorists, and "Datto's Thoughts on Datto (and The Future)" by Datto.
I watched the two Star Wars videos back-to-back and both were quite enjoyable.
I Hate Everything's video criticizes the people who claim to hate The Last Jedi and nitpick
it, but still call themselves Star Wars fans, and Film Theory's video explores how fan theories
about the movie may have overhyped the movie and lead to false expectations for how the
movie would unfold.
Finally, I also watched Datto's video where he talks about where his channel is going
now that Destiny 2 videos are receiving less views.
I found all of these videos really interesting and I recommend giving them all a watch.
Next, on January 21, I put Jaiden Animations' "How to Make Life More Interesting" in the
playlist.
Most of the videos I watched this day were pretty mundane, and this video was the best
out of everything I watched that day.
In the video, Jaiden talks about how she made her life more interesting in 2017 by doing
small things, like taste-testing apples.
As I said earlier, the stuff I watched on this day was pretty boring, so I don't need
to mention the other videos I watched that day.
On January 22, I literally watched no videos.
Well, that's not entirely true.
I was trying to figure out how to do something so I did a Google search for it, and I did
happen to click on a video and skim through it.
This video was MOCKBAMG's "Pixelmator 2 tutorial 3D ball."
I honestly have nothing to say about this video as it's not very exciting.
All I can say is that the tutorial get's the job done and I believe I figured out what
I was doing after watching the video.
The next day on January 23, I put h3h3Productions' "How To Lose Your Life's Savings w Cryptocurrency"
in the playlist.
This video introduced me to my favorite meme of 2018:
(Carlos Matos) "BITCONEEEEEEECT. WOO!"
Honestly, I'm a little sad that this meme died as fast as it did, because it is seriously
under appreciated.
If you haven't seen Carlos Matos live from New York City New York yelling about how much
he loves Bitconnect, you absolutely have to watch this video.
Another video that's worth mentioning for this day is Wendover Productions' "Why Cities
Exist."
This video is very informative, as Wendover Productions teaches the viewer on how cities
are natural and why people congregate in them.
If you don't already know why cities exist, go watch this video.
The next video added to the playlist for January 24 is Extra Credits' "Games Should Not Cost
$60 Anymore - Inflation, Microtransactions, and Publishing."
This video opened my eyes to how much money really goes into game development.
If you hate games that involve microtransactions or DLC, this video may not persuade you otherwise,
but may show you why they exist in the first place.
Another video that was mildly entertaining was EverythingApplePro's "Only Dying iPhones
Can Use This App! DieWithMe."
The video is pretty short, so if you want to find out about a unique app, this video
is worth your time.
On January 25, I added CollegeHumor's "Are You a Millennial?
Hardly Working" to the playlist.
This video was pretty humorous and shows just how silly people are when they call or not
call themselves a "millennial."
One other video that I watched that day that was significant was dinoflask's "Yule Log
2.0."
All of dinoflask's stuff is phenomenal, and I recommend watching all of his videos.
I'll have a link to his channel in the description.
The next video in the playlist is "The Roswell Incident" by Internet Historian: Incognito
Mode.
This short video does an excellent job explaining what really happened in the Roswell Incident
and why many conspiracy theorists are wrong on the subject.
One other video I watched on this day was Company Man's "XFL vs. NFL."
This video is awesome, and probably one of Company Man's best videos.
In the video, Company Man explains the story of the XFL, and why it failed.
Go give this video a watch.
The next day, I added Chadtronic's "Kids Guide to Being Home Alone."
Chadtronic's first video of 2018 is very high-quality and is arguably one of the best reaction videos
Chadtronic has released in a long time.
If you love Chadtronic's old reaction stuff as much as I do, then this video is for you.
I didn't watch anything else on this day that's worth mentioning.
On Sunday January 28, I didn't view anything special, however I did start the Hello Internet
podcast from the beginning.
I listened to the first two episodes that day and so I put the second episode "Copyright
Not Intended" in the playlist.
I'm now up to episode 27, and the podcast is entertaining if you need something to listen
to.
I've only listened to a handful of podcasts, however this one is my favorite so
far.
The following Monday, I didn't actively watch any YouTube, but that didn't stop me from
putting a video in the playlist.
As I was browsing Reddit on this day, I happened to tap on a video, but I only watched the
first minute or so of it.
Because this is the only video that I technically watched, I was forced to add it to the playlist
for this day.
This video was "Legends of Gotham #67 - (S02E15) Pinkeye
by Universe Box."
On January 30, I put Summoning Salt's "4-2: The History of Super Mario Bros.'
Most Infamous Level" in the playlist.
Summoning Salt is one of my favorite content creators, and I recommend binge-watching all
of his videos as all of them are extremely high-quality.
In this video, Summoning Salt goes over one Super Mario Bros. level in particular and
breaks down the history of strategies that speedrunners have used to get through that
level faster.
If you liked Summoning Salt's Super Mario Bros. video, or if you like speedrunning or
good story-telling in general, then you should give this video a watch.
One other video I watched this day that was interesting was Linus Tech Tips' video on
the Amazon Go store in Seattle.
If you want to see how the new Amazon Go store in Seattle works, Linus goes over all of the
intricacies of the Amazon Go app and the systems within the store, making this video a good
watch for people who want to know more about Amazon's new store.
Like I said earlier in this video, Carlos Matos' love for Bitconnect is my favorite
meme from this year.
Because of this, on January 31 I went back and watched Carlos Matos' speech once more
and added it to the playlist because it's such a good meme.
I didn't watch anything else on this day that's worth mentioning.
On the first day in February, I added grandayy's "Lil Trump - China Gang" to my esteemed playlist.
I could tell a lot of time and thought went into this parody of Gucci Gang, so that's
why I added it.
The next video in the playlist is jacksfilms' "YIAYKUS.
(YIAY #395)."
This video is one of Jack's best YIAYs that he's made in quite some time.
This video makes me wish he would bring back News In Haikus but this will have to do for
now.
I also watched "Why Do Games Cost So Much
- AAA Game Budgets" by Extra Credits on this day.
This video goes more in detail about what it takes in AAA game development, and if you
liked the other Extra Credits video I mentioned earlier, you'll also enjoy this one.
On February 3, I watched LEMMiNO's "Top 10 Facts - Reddit" and put it in the playlist.
LEMMiNO is also one of my favorite YouTubers, and so much thought goes into each and every
one of his videos.
His video also goes over a bunch of things that happened on Reddit, a site I go on everyday,
so this video was a match made in heaven for me.
I didn't watch any other videos on this day.
Next, PolyMatter's "How To Do Politics" was added to this playlist.
This video is very educational, and it opened my eyes to how people talk about politics
wrong.
The video basically says that people need to stop attacking people with opposing views
if they want to persuade them, and PolyMatter goes in depth on how this effects politics.
If this sounds interesting to you, this and all of the other videos mentioned in this
video are linked in the description.
Another video that was interesting from this day was Science Elf's "Search Before Google."
I didn't know much about the Internet before Google, and this video taught me a lot about
the other search engines that existed in a time before Google.
On Monday, February 5, Tom Scott's "Faceswapping, Unethical Videos, and Future Shock" was added
to the playlist.
Tom Scott's video was the first time I had heard of deepfakes, and ultra-realistic face-swapping,
and he does an excellent job explaining the ethics of face-swapping and how the future
is already here.
If you somehow still haven't heard of deepfakes, this video is a good introduction to the concept.
This was the only interesting video I watched on this day.
The next video I added to the playlist was "CS:GO Rube Goldberg Machine" created by 2kliksphillip.
This goofy video was pretty funny, and impressive as most Rube Goldberg Machines are.
One other video that I watched that day that I considered adding to the playlist was The
Verge's "Apple HomePod Review."
The cinematography and writing of this review was really good, so if there's one review
to watch about Apple's latest product, it's this one.
On February 7, I didn't watch very many videos, however I did watch enough to decide to put
Internet Historian's "Friendship Ended." in the playlist.
Although not one of Internet Historian's best videos, this video is still pretty entertaining
as it explains the history of Asif and Mudasir on r/indianpeoplefacebook and beyond.
Like I said, this was one of the only videos I watched that day and the others aren't worth
mentioning.
The next video that I put in the playlist was a Wii Music meme titled "the Mii Channel
theme except the highest note is always F#" uploaded by what.
There's something very uncanny and unsettling about this video, and it's a unique twist
on the meme.
A few other videos I want to briefly mention that I watched that day are kliksphillips'
"Making the Rube Goldberg Machine," Half as Interesting's "How This Island Got 10% of
Their Money by Chance," and PewDiePie's "LOGAN PAUL RETURNS 📰 PEW NEWS📰."
I enjoyed all of these videos, so if any of them look interesting to you, I recommend
watching them.
The next video that was added to the playlist was "Logan Paul Fan Calls In to Demand Apology"
that was on the H3 Podcast Highlights YouTube channel.
This video is funny if you follow the H3 Podcast as the podcast makes a funny use of a running
gag.
There wasn't really anything else special that I watched on this day.
Now, I know I haven't gone over nearly as many videos as I said I would at the beginning
of this video, but this video is getting quite long, and you know what that means.
This video is going to be a two-parter.
If you would like to know when that part 2 video goes live and support my channel, please
subscribe.
I promise that the next video will cover the rest of the videos in this playlist and I
also promise that it will come out later this week.
Oh and one more thing.
(Various Splatoon Inkling Sound Effects)
(Humming of the Splatoon Theme)
(Humming of a crescendo)
