Waching daily Mar 19 2018

Good afternoon!

I have decided to open a new section of short videos

with the Appendix to the videos of InterStellar Mediator.

I have decided to do it following an advice to do it

of someone who I respect a lot and who is related to the project.

After each video of InterStellar Mediator,

which I hope will continue and which I hope I will be able to keep sharing with you, as the information is valuable,

after each video I will concentrate on some points which I find important to expand on a bit more,

and which impact me personally.

And perhaps this personal reflection will serve you.

First I want to give my appreciation to the InterStellar Mediator

for letting me publish these videos

and for letting me participate in this journey of exploration of knowledge.

I have to say that I respect and value a lot a project which she has been developing.

And the information which she shares with us.

Even though to some of you it might seem that

it is a slow process.

But we must remember that

some types of information, and some concepts,

must reach beyond our mind.

The idea here is not only to present the information, details, the concrete data,

which could appease our intellectual and mental curiosity,

but it is also a frequency work.

She is planting certain metaphysical concepts,

some which are not yet known to the inhabitants of this planet,

and she is doing it in a subtle manner,

inasmuch as we might not even be aware of them

if we dont concentrate to feel them with our senses that exist beyond the purely mental ones.

I also want to give her thanks for these videos even though she has a lot of work.

Because to make videos is not the only thing she has been dedicating to.

It is not her main focus.

She has been developing a lot of things in the background,

of which we cannot know directly,

but I hope that at some point in the future we will be able to access what she has been trying to construct.

So..let´s have patience, appreciation, and the heart...

when we listen to the messages that she shares with us.

Linear Time.

First I want to mention linear time.

A concept of which she mentioned in the beginning of her video,

a concept which is not a reality and has been developed by, as she calls them, the Controllers of the planet.

In order to maintain us in this Matrix more.

And perhaps it is something a little bit difficult to capture

because while we are here on this plane

we can experience the existence of time very directly.

The time passes by.

Its 1 o´clock, and then we have 3.

We are 10 years old, and then suddenly we are 30, very fast.

So how come the time doesn´t exist?

How is it possible that it is NOT a reality?

It is something pretty difficult to capture but

with my other senses I feel that it is this way.

The manner in which we live,

according to structures of time, according to the clock,

according to this precise mechanism of schedules, for example,

is something artificial and something that limits us

and produces the sensation of being trapped within a concept and within a construction that is false.

At least I feel this way.

Every time I am at work, where I have schedules and need to live according to them,

and always have to look at my watch,

like for example now I have time until 4 and I can do certain things,

later a certain activity lasts till 8,

I feel as if my frequency is limited.

I feel as if the total range of my frequency is trapped by this concept.

It is as if I exist on some other plane

where this concept does not exist.

So myself from that other plane does not feel liberated and

as if I cannot access that plane of absolute totality due to this concept of linear time,

which is here in this dimension, enforced upon us.

And it is this that she talked about in the video.

That due to this structure of linear time

we cannot liberate ourselves to the total Illumination,

and we cannot access the totality of our being.

And its what I feel too.

I really hate living and working according to schedules.

I would like to liberate myself already in some way from my job,

which, on the one hand, doesn´t bother me,

I work as an English teacher in Barcelona,

and I enjoy it in some ways,

but what bothers me and causes the identity conflict,

of different planes of consciousness,

is this necessity, the obligation of living with the schedules.

I hate that.

I am not sure what solution exactly we can apply here,

but at least look for the moments, situations, experiences,

that can help us get out of the concept of time.

Where we can enter the ¨space¨ which is outside of time and space.

And where we can feel completely free of these concepts.

They are not our nature, and not our essence.

Where our essence dwells, there is no time, and there are no schedules.

And it is where our authenticity and our being is.

Are we the Location of Frequency?

Another very important concept which captured my attention

is a concept of consciousness and of what we really are,

outside of our physical body.

We all know already that we are not physical bodies,

at least all of us that have been following these subjects.

But here there are some points that got my attention

which coincide with some of my own revelations too.

We already know that we are not our body.

That we are not these arms, that we are not this head, that we are not these legs,

that all this does not belong to us in any way.

Or to our absolute state of being.

So are we a spiritual being?

Soul?

Consciousness?

Who are we really?

What is this perception of I right now?

This awareness?

Could it be that we are the location of the frequency?

Simply the location of consciousness?

Let me explain.

More or less a year ago I had a meditation experience which was quite curious.

I found myself in some kind of a,....superior state, I am not sure if that is the right word...

in a state which was much beyond my normal corporal perception.

In a state of pure consciousness, we could call it this way.

And I asked myself:

If I am there, in the state of that field of consciousness,

why is it that normally I am only conscious of this point of observation of me here, of Gosia?

Why is my frequency, this awareness..which is the absolute quantic field,

only aware of only one point, a point of Gosia, right now?

Where does the concentration of the awareness to only this one point come from right now?

Why am I not aware of the person over here?

Why is my consciousness, if it encompasses all the consciousnesses, because we are one,

not aware over there, at some other point?

Why am I not aware of my dog?

Why am I not aware inside of the plant body?

Why only here? Why am I limited here?

And in that meditation I realized, I had a sensation,

that that consciousness where I found myself, in that superior state,

I could really emit myself and my frequency, change the location of my perception

to any place I wanted at that moment.

It was as if I could broadcast myself, broadcast my own frequency to another being,

occupy the space and the reality of that being,

and perceive myself from within the reality of that being.

Perceiving myself as that being.

So in theory I could transmit myself, like a radio signal,

I could transmit my signal to the field of existence of another person

and be that other person.

It was a very strange experience.

I didn´t do it really,

I did not transmit myself inside any other person,

but I felt strongly that I was like a radio signal.

Frequency location.

And I could do it if I really wanted to.

But I didn´t do it,

I just arrived at this realization.

So I think it is this that the InterStellar Mediator was talking about

when she shared that at first...it was like she left her body,

and she fused with the awareness of the stingray

in that precious sea.

In the video, the Mediator said that

she left her body and realized that she was living molecules in the process of transformation of its state.

And she fused with the conciousness field of the stingray.

She was able to move herself and become the reality that she occupied.

She was not only its body

but also its mind and its way of thinking and feeling.

Was she a stingray at that moment then?

She was not a human being any more?

She transformed from one state to another?

Or maybe she changed her location?

What does it say about who we are?

And about how the consciousness works?

Are we the reality where our consciousness is situated in a given moment?

Are we the beings where the concentration point of our consciousness is situated?

Or are we the consciousness which is capable of changing its location?

Changing a range of its transmission,

existing outside of the body?

And if we are the latter,

why then so much identification with the temporal vehicle that we are occupying right now, as if it was THAT that we are?

We are not.

So if we are able to think, observe, feel, outside our physical body,

it is because we are not linked, or dependent of this physical body, in any way.

We exist beyond the physical field

and our consciousness, the frequency of that consciousness,

can change its location and can change the transmission of the perception,

using various universal networks of which for sure we are not aware at this point.

But they exist for sure.

Using some quantic networks of which we have no idea.

So what does it say about what we are really?

For me this goes beyond a fact of just being a soul,

or some spiritual entity, limited to space, time, ... to some sort of a field.

Consciousness is like a radio transmission.

It can change its position

and occupy a certain reality, and make us feel as if we are that reality,

while in fact we are the transmission.

What I am talking about here is something pretty metaphysical I think...

and I don´t know if all of you will see it in the same way,

but the sure thing is that we are not physical bodies,

and we exist far beyond this physical plane.

And I think that this realization can give our life more meaning.

Even though it might seem that it is the opposite.

That if we are the transmission and we are not a physical life,

so what sense does the physical life make?

But at least for me, its on the contrary.

This gives me more joy,

more purpose,

I don´t take it so seriously,

so for me it is a beneficial and positive revelation.

And it gives me a lot of excitement

to be looking forward to more adventures to be presented beyond this current life.

Well....lets go for the adventure.

This is not the end.

This is not everything.

Although it is of value, and we are here on purpose.

Let´s not despise this physical life,

it too serves an important purpose, and we are here deliberately.

The consciousness is transmitting itself here on purpose.

All is in order.

Although it doesn´t always seem this way.

Well, on that note I will say goodbye,

I talked enough,

see you in the next video.

Thank you all,

thank you to all the subscribers,

to all of you who make comments,

we continue.

See you next time... Bye.

Thank you to the InterStellar Mediator for the inspiration.

How I Edit [CC] - Duration: 14:05.

Hi everybody, my name is Julie. Welcome back to Pages and Pens. Today I am here

to talk to you about my editing process. You guys had voted on a poll in one of

my prior videos and you said that you would be interested in seeing writing

and editing vlogs as well as how I write and how I edit, So today's video is on

how I edit even though currently I am like hiding from my edits. I am working

on book 2 right now and I'm just really feeling the writing flow as opposed to

the editing one, because frankly the writing of the first draft is so much

easier than the editing of the first draft. I am intimidated by the editing

and that makes it really difficult for me to sit down and focus on it which is

a problem. So I am going to be setting some goals for myself of pages and time

spent per day on editing, so I wanted to just talk to you guys about where I am

in my editing process and the editing journey and what it's been like for me

so far.

I'm gonna kind of take you from when I stopped writing the book to where I am

right now and where I kind of see myself going in the future just so you guys

have an idea of what's worked for me and what hasn't worked for me. I'm very very

lucky in that when I stopped the writing process I have for the most part a

technically sound first edit. Grammatically it's pretty good. A lot of

my edits come by way of plot holes, character holes, things like that. Things

that I need to expand, contract if I got too wordy in certain areas, also just

kind of the mechanics of different sentence structures and scene structures.

I have been so used to writing flash fiction where I cram everything into

like this really really tiny scene that when I go broader I tend to get wordier

and not necessarily pack a punch in each scene the way that I want to. So

that's been a lot of what my edits are right now. Let me show you first how I

started off. So this is the binder of my first draft of Dawn till Dusk.

This was unnamed at the time I started but this is my full manuscript of my

first edit. What you're gonna see in here are a whole bunch of colored tabs, these

were courtesy of Amber from Amber's Books and More, who I will link down

below, and she and I got together into a whole editors/writers weekend where we

peer edited one another's work. We did different tabs- so yellow were for

plot holes, purple were for character questions, orange for general notes, blue

was for over or under description (needing more needing less), and then we

made notes in there. There's also just plenty of times where we just had

questions for one another. So that's what all of these colored tabs are for. That

worked really really well for both of us, I think. And having somebody to live peer

edit with was phenomenal. I got to sit across from her while I got her first

reactions to my story, where she laughed, where she gasped, where she had to stop

and put it down and be like "where is this story going where is this

particular plot line going I need to know". It was so gratifying and so

nerve-wracking all at once. It was terrifying and thrilling and amazing and

I loved going through hers she loved going through mine. That was the first

round of edits, was peer edits. And then that only went

to a certain point. So the end of this from this like purple tab on so from

like here on this part, I wrote after we met up so nobody has peer edited

that particular portion. Although I have emailed it to her and she hasn't gotten

back to me yet. So, Amber if you're watching this, girl were you at? After

that process, after I got everything back from her, what I did was I read through

that same weekend all of her notes and I made grammatical changes immediately.

I sat down with this giant notebook and Scrivener open, which is what I write and

I write in Scrivener, which will be in a whole other section, a whole other video

about how I write. But I had this book and Scrivener out together and I went

page by page and paragraph by paragraph and I took her notes where she thought

something was repetitive, where there was spacing issues grammar issues, whatever

there might be. Wherever I could fix something really quickly I went through

and I fixed it really quickly and I did that for the whole round of edits. And

then I put pink little tabs up here at the top, the pink ones up here were for

areas where I felt like I had to spend more time either fixing a plot, fixing a

character, adding things things to the story, taking things away that were

gonna take longer than just like a quick run-through. So those got a separate tab

that I had to look at at a later date. So that was the first round peer edits,

first round technical edits into the computer. Then what I did was I finished

writing the book. I felt like I had a much clearer idea of where I was going

for the end and I moved forward with the end of the book. Once everything was done

I printed everything out and for the first time I sat down and I read my book

front to back. Going through her first round of edits I

was really just looking at technical stuff I wasn't rereading my work. So I

sat down with a different colored pen than Amber used and I did a first

read-through start to finish of my book. Which was amazing and terrifying and

beautiful and like phenomenal all at once, but I wasn't reading just to read, I

was also reading to make my own notes and my own grammar changes and my own

thoughts about where I wanted to expand and contract and tighten. I was doing

my own essential peer edits for this book. That's

what we could call like round three. So I've gone peer edit, put the technical

edits into the computer, I finished the book, I've read through it and I put all

of the edits into the book. So right now I'm on page 46, which is not that far

into this giant chunk this is where I've gotten to

going through the edits that I did on my full read through and putting them into

the computer. Because a lot of these are no longer gramma,r a lot of these are

fixing things, adding chapters, taking away chapters, changing POVs of chapters.

A lot of work goes into this particular round of edits. It feels daunting. Really

really daunting, because in my head I feel like at the end of this round of

edits I need to have a draft that's ready to go out for beta readers when in

fact I'll probably print it back out again read through it again make

whatever crucial changes I need to make and then send it to beta readers. The

process is really really long. Here's what I have decided in general because

this has been a very very long time. I finished this book in December and I

have not really done very much with it since then, so it's been two full months

I haven't done very much. Granted I'm at like 37 thousand words on book two, so

I'm like moving through with book two. I took a big break from doing anything

with either of the stories right after I got done with it and I think that was

very healthy. I think that was what I was I needed to do. I needed to kind of put it

down. Where I'm at right now with edits is I'm going to go through, I want to

spend at least an hour a day. It's very hard to set page goal numbers for these

edits because a lot of them you know I might get five pages done but I might

write 7,000 words because I needed to add a scene, or I need to remove a scene

so my work, if I do it by word count, my work count goes down dramatically even

though I did hours of work because I was tightening and changing things. I'm going

to dedicate an hour a day to editing book one. Right now that's what I can

kind of give when I can give more I will. I want to spend an hour editing book

one and an hour writing book two, every single day. Hopefully I can do more than

that for editing. My writing tends to happen 8 p.m. and after my editing can

really happen any time during the day. Goal is to do some hardcore editing. I

want to make all the changes that I had in my first read-through of the full

entire novel, and then I want to go back through and

print it again. Which is going to be pricey, and then on the second draft of

edits I will do scene tightening, sentence tightening, get rid of words

that don't need to exist in sentences. A lot of that is so so technical and I

really want to focus on the plot and the characters in this particular round of edits.

It's making sure the character relationships make sense, making sure

that everybody is vibing and gelling and that the story is has a solid foundation

in both world setting and characters building. So that's what I want this

round of edits to be and then the next round of edits will be each sentence and

picking it apart and how to perfect each particular sentence and each particular

scene to make it as impactful as some of my short stories. And I look at my short

story reviews or you guys talk to me about the short story collection that I

put out and the flash fiction that I put out, is that they're so hard-hitting in

such a short span of time. I feel like a lot of that is lacking and not

every scene in this book can be like that because it is a full novel, but some

of the scenes need to be more that. Bones for the rest of the series- that's what I

need to focus on and grammar and then the second round of edits is going to be

tightening each sentence and tightening each scene. Then I'm gonna send it

out to beta readers. That's my goal right now. In the future I need to be a

lot gentler with myself. I feel like grammar is its own series of edits. You go through and you grammar. Another one maybe you read through and you read

through for timeline continuity, another one you read through and it's for

characters, another one you read through and it's for plot tightness and plot

progression. I have gotten myself into the mindset that I can only do this

first round of edits and then I need to send it out into the world, and that's

just not true. I have a lot of different aspects of the editing process in this

one first round. My notes to you would be if you're doing a round of edits, or if

I've edited your book and you're looking at them and it's so daunting, I get it I

totally do- take it bit by bit. Maybe break down the

notes that you're getting back from somebody and do all the grammar first

and then do all the character and then do the plot after that. Doing it all at

once is very overwhelming and even I who am a professional editor, who has written

before and published a book before, tightened a whole collection and tried

to make sure that there's a thread that drove that collection, like I'm not a

stranger to editing and I'm not a stranger to trying to cohesively put a

story together, this is a lot. It feels very overwhelming. I've kind of

taken notes from what I feel works best for me,

what I feel like is going to be most manageable, and also from some of the

other authors that I look at on Instagram and their instastories and how

they go through their editing process. I was watching Tomi Adeyemi who wrote

The Children of Blood and Bone and she was saying that her first draft is a hot

mess, and that 90% of her first draft you'll never see in the finish book, and

that there's like a dozen edits after that. I was like oh my goodness, I put

so much pressure on myself to make sure the first draft is perfect and it's just

not going to be, like ever. I think that a lot of that is me getting used to

writing a full-length novel and then going into the edits realistically in a

breakdown that makes sense. It's not impossible. It's overwhelming, but it's

not impossible. And writing an imperfect first draft is always easier than fixing

a first draft, especially when I'm a really really

tough critic of myself so I feel like there's so much work that needs to be

done. But at some point I'm going to have to trust this over to other people. It's

a long process, I mean you guys are so pumped and every video that comes

out about these books you guys get really really into it, and I love that

but the process is really long when it comes to this. Because I don't

have a team behind me. I don't have quote-unquote corporate deadlines and I

don't have a team of people that are editing it for me and then giving me

their thoughts and I just have to go in and like make quick corrections. A lot of

this is on my own. Ridiculous amounts of thanks to Amber because that first round

of edits were so vital to get somebody's feedback on the story and on the

characters. That was really really key to me and I am so thankful that she was

there to do that. That is where I'm at with my editing as of right now. That's

where I'm going forward, so going forward is gonna be setting goals for every

single day, getting through my first this this first round of my own edits, and

then probably doing another reprint and reading through for continuity and then

sentence structure and scene structure and then hopefully some beta readers.

Which is really really really exciting. I am very hard at work, guys, here at all

times you guys know that if you follow me on my Instastories. I'm always doing something, I always have a goal. I always have something that is driving me to

the next accomplishment. So that's where I'm at with my editing process. That's

what it's looked like for me personally. It looks different for everybody, but

that's what it's looked like for me and what's working for me right now. And then

we're gonna see how things go forward in terms of what works for me in the future.

And I will probably be doing editing vlogs and writing vlogs after I do these

like "how I" videos. I'll probably put up some vlogs so that you guys can watch

these, understand what I'm going to be doing, and then enjoy the vlogs on a

different level. I hope you guys have enjoyed this. I hope it's been

interesting to you. I hope it's given you some tips or tricks for editing. If you

have any to give to me, please give them to me. I would love to know them.

Get Your Life Organized - Duration: 10:43.

(Music)

TERRI: Hey, I'm Terri Savelle Foy, your cheerleader of dreams.

Hey, if you've never subscribed to this podcast, just push the

little red button right there to get consistent teaching tools

and tips to help you live your dreams. In fact today I want to

talk to you about get your life organized. Well, why does that

even matter that you get your life organized? Well, I've

noticed that successful people are organized. There is a link

between organization and success. Now, you may have heard

me say before that the way you do anything is the way you do

everything. That's a strong statement. In other words, if

you always pay your bills late, you probably show up late. If

your bed is always half made, perhaps your book is still half

written. Peter Daniels says it this way. "If you have a dirty

desk, you probably have dirty undies." That's not what I'm

saying. But the point is the way you do anything is the way you

do everything. Now, I didn't make this statement up but I

found it to be true in my life. Well, why is this so important

that we get things together and get organized? I love what

Steven Furtick says, he says, "What's next in your life is

always connected to what's now." What's next is connected to

what's now. In other words, how you care for the small areas of

your life determines how you'll also care for the big areas of

your life. Well, God is the one who said, "If you're faithful in

the little things, you'll be ruler over many things." I've

shared stories in the past of how before I was promoted as CEO

of a global organization, God instructed me to clean up my

house. Now, that sounds so ridiculous, and you might even

wonder, "Could God really instruct someone to get

organized, to declutter, to scrub, to clean?" Absolutely.

Why? Well, again, the way you do anything is the way you do

everything. If that's true, if I was a mess, and I was, then my

leadership would be a mess. If I couldn't get my house in order,

how could I get an organization in order? See, I had to adapt

the standard of excellence in my life before I could expect

excellence from my team. Well, once I got my house in order, a

few months later, I received a major promotion and it

absolutely changed my life. Well, on this podcast in

particular, I want to point out that sometimes it can feel like

you are having to do so much while others are just coasting

along, living sloppy and getting by with it. It's just not fair.

Well, let me point out that there are different degrees of

clutter and disorganization, and it's unique to each person. In

other words, what one person considers orderly, another

considers a catastrophe and they tend to marry each other. In

fact, I've had many people ask me just out of curiosity,

they'll say, "Terri, does anything get you upset?" Well,

I do have a pretty easygoing personality, and I don't tend to

get too disturbed or agitated by much. However, the main thing I

identified what upsets me, the main thing that ruffles my

feathers, or as I like to say, steals my peace more than

anything is coming home to a messy, cluttered, disorganized

home like that seriously just takes my peace. Well, in the

past, there were many times when I would get home late at night

from traveling all week and speaking at conferences, and as

soon as I would walk in the backdoor, I would be greeted by

empty pizza boxes stacked on the kitchen counter, dishes piled in

the sink, coats hanging across the kitchen table chairs and

backpacks on the table. I would just like gasp in disgust, and I

could hardly even put my luggage down from my arm before I was

grabbing trash bags, disposing of the pizza boxes. That's not

the best way for me to return from a trip with the best

attitude for my family. Well, being married now for 26 years,

my husband knows how important a clutter-free kitchen is to my

arrival that he consistently make sure I'm welcomed home to

order. Now this isn't everyday. This is only when I come home

from trips. Let me make that clear. Well, it makes me happier

than I can express when I walk in and see dishes put away,

countertops wiped clean and a birthday cake scented candle

burning. In fact, I'll text Rodney when I get on the plane

headed home just to alert him that I'm en route. I'll say,

"Hey, what you doing?" He'll respond, "Making peace for you."

Well, the reason I'm telling you this is because we all have

different tolerance levels for disorganization and clutter.

Mine and Rodney's are completely different and the person with

the lowest tolerance level will end up doing most of the work to

get things in shape. Well, some people have no qualms about

leaving their dirty clothes in the bathroom for a solid week or

walking over a pile of laundry for several days. Maybe I'm

referring to Rodney, maybe not. In fact, I read a story recently

about a woman whose husband was so messy that she want to do a

little experiment just to see how long he would go without

noticing clutter. Well, when she returned from her trip, she left

his suitcase full of dirty clothes right in front of the

front door. She said he literally had to step over the

suitcase to even get in the house. After a solid month, she

called off the experiment and emptied the suitcase. Well, it

may not be totally fair that one spouse has to maintain most of

the order and do most of the tidying up. Here's the thing. In

most cases, they're not trying to be rude or disrespectful. It

just doesn't even bother them. They don't even see what you

see. Well, that's when you have to hold on to scripture that

say, "Do everything as unto the Lord." In other words, make the

bed, pick up his or her underwear, clean the bathtub,

load the dishwasher, do the laundry, file the bills as unto

the Lord. Why? Because your Father in heaven is watching,

and he sees every act as preparation for promotion. All

those tedious acts in private will bring you rewards in

public. Getting your life organized, cleaned up could be a

major prerequisite for your breakthrough. I know it was for

me. Your personal standard of excellence, it's all about

preparation for something greater. Remember what I said

earlier? What's next in your life is always connected to

what's now. God's watching, observing, noticing how you care

for the little things in your life and I'm telling you when he

sees someone paying attention to details such as picking the

trash up off the floor rather than just walking over it or

putting things back where they belong rather than leaving them

out for somebody else to pick up or hanging things back rather

than just leaving them laying there, he's getting ready to

promote. In fact, in the Bible, it says that Daniel became

distinguished above all other high officials because an

excellent spirit was in him. That's Daniel 6:3. Think about

that. His personal standard of excellence brought him from the

lowest one to the highest position in society back then.

See, Daniel wasn't just your average Joe working an average

job. He was a slave. He wasn't married. He didn't have kids.

This guy had nothing. He wasn't someone that was like being

groomed for success or to be in the public eye. He was

considered a nobody. I think we get the picture that he was like

the lowest ranking guy on the totem pole, so to speak, but

God's favor was on him. Why? Simply because he had an

excellent spirit. He was actually promoted as head over

three presidents and in charge of overseeing the king's

financial affairs. Now, I want you to think about that. A

slave, a former slave, had oversight of the king's money.

Scripture says, "Daniel was preferred above the presidents

and princess." Well, that word "preferred" means to be

handpicked, approved, favored, adopted, liked and endorsed.

Your standard of excellence can pave the way for you to be

promoted when you seem to be the least likely person, the last

choice, the shock of the season to those around you. I believe

it will cause you to be set apart and promoted above all

others who may even be more qualified than you, more

educated, more experienced. I'm telling you excellence opens

doors in your life that no man can shut. Excellence puts you on

a path for success. Let me just tell you this real quick. When

you feel like complaining because of all that you're

having to do while others aren't doing much ... I love this

statement I heard from Joyce Meyer, because I've felt that

way many times. She said she was starting to complain about

everything she has to do while others don't have so many

standards. One day the Lord said to her, he said, "Joyce, you've

asked me for a lot. Do you want it or not?" Well, you've asked

the Lord for some big dreams, some big prayers and it's going

to demand a big commitment. Do you want it or not? I want to

encourage you. Make a decision to get organized and do it as

unto the Lord. He's watching and he's ready to promote. I want to

mention real quick that we have a YouTube subscriber this week

and they go by this name got2bme todd, got2bme todd, I like that.

This is what they wrote, "I organized my kitchen and what a

difference it made. It gave me peace of mind." It says, "It

might be old but it's clean and orderly and now it's a joy to

cook dinner." Well, I am so proud of you for taking action

and decluttering, got2bme todd. I want to help each and everyone

How Uneven Lip Volume and a Downturned Smile can be Corrected with Separate Injectable Treatments - Duration: 8:00.

Thank you for your question.

You submitted your question with two photos both of which with you smiling.

And you describe in your question a concern about the attractiveness of your smile.

And although you've undergone orthodontics and gotten braces, you are still concerned

about an asymmetry in your smile.

And in particular, it appears to be a pulling down of the lip in the right side and you

want to know what you can possibly do.

Well, I can certainly share with you how I would approach a situation like yours of course

without the benefit of a full physical examination but by just reviewing your photos.

A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial

plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years.

Helping people improve the appearance of their lips is a process that we do in our practice

everyday and it is an area of focus that is very important for a lot of people to have

confidence.

And I think certainly it is important to pursue appearance but at the same time, it is important

to recognize that nobody is 100% symmetric.

And I always tell my patients who are very focused naturally on maximizing symmetry that

we are beautifully imperfect and everybody has a little bit of difference from one side

to the other.

But what I think we can do is certainly get a little bit of understanding of some basic

principles that I apply when evaluating patients for lip enhancement.

So one issue which you raised in your question had to do with volume.

So when you look at someone who is relatively young, we naturally understand that this is

a genetic appearance.

You know, when we look at someone who is aging and there's volume loss, well that's an

age-related change and the approach is more about correction.

When we're looking at someone who is younger, we're looking essentially at an augmentation

and it depends on the degree of volume that is can potentially be beneficial and the art

is really on being very strategic.

And a lot of times, a little bit goes a long way.

I'm not saying that's the right thing for you but it's important to understand

the distinction of where volume may play a role.

Now when we look at lips, there's a certain Golden Ratio that we often apply to the aesthetics

of the lip and if there is volume imbalance which could be enhanced to achieve something

closer to the Golden Ratio, that's where volume augmentation has a role.

Now the other part of the equation which actually is more relevant in your situation has to

do with the action of certain muscles on the lips.

And there's a particular muscle that is relevant in this situation and that muscle

is called the depressor anguli oris muscle.

And this is the muscle that in the dynamics of lip movement, actually pulls like a pulley,

the lips down.

And so when I ask someone to show me the strength of that muscle, I actually ask them to show

me their lower teeth.

And what happens is they bring the corners of their mouth down and show me their lower

teeth.

Now it is not unusual for people to have an imbalance between the two sides.

Well, to help patients to improve the balance as well as do things to, for example, change

the downward appearance of the corners of the lip to more of an upward appearance, we

do something called a Botox® lip lift.

And that means applying this principle of relaxing certain muscles like the depressor

anguli oris to allow the lip to travel upward and it can have a very nice impact.

Now the benefits of trying an approach like this is that you can see if you like the results

and with a drug or neurotoxin like Botox®, it wears off.

So for any reason you're not exactly overwhelmed or happy with that outcome, well it wears

off and you can maybe put this on the shelf.

But I would say that this is an opportunity to consider doing something that is minimally

invasive and seeing if a little bit can help you feel a little bit better about the outcome.

Again, I always stress to my patients that when people look at themselves, they see things

that they don't like and they tend to magnify them or amplify them.

While the rest of the world sees the big picture, sees the whole face.

And although I think that of course it is important to do things for yourself that can

help you feel more confident but it is also important to have a perspective to recognize

that if you ask some of your closest friends how they ever noticed this particular attribute,

they probably would not mention it as something significant.

Some may notice it.

I would assert that most often, people would not notice and that's just human nature.

So I would say that if you are interested, meet with qualified and experienced doctors

who can offer you some options.

And I would say try to be conservative first.

And I think the use of Botox® strategically is probably a conservative first step that

maybe what can help you achieve this goal.

Understanding of course that Botox® does wear off and therefore you will need to do

this in an ongoing basis for maintenance if you are so inspired.

I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your question.
