HEIAN JINGU // 平安神宮 (Kyoto, Japan) - Duration: 2:10.

Built to mark Kyoto's 1100 anniversary as the capital of Japan Heian jingu is an

absolutely stunning shrine compared to some of the other shrines in Kyoto this

is actually one of the newer ones it was built in 1895 and is a replica of one of

the famous structures from the Heian period measuring close to 25 meters the

torii gate leading to the hand shrine is the largest one in kyoto the grounds of

the shrine also covers a fast area with a wide open gravel court in front of the

main stream there is a real tranquil feel to Heian Jingu and the architecture

is truly remarkable also at the shrine is Shin'en Garden which consists of

four distinct sections and is famous as a beautiful spot during cherry blossom season

the serenity and design of Shin'en Garden makes it one of my favorite places in Kyoto

Entry to the garden costs 600 yen and I think it is well worth the money

I also love that it wasn't crowded like a lot of the other major shrines and temples in Kyoto tend to be

We just got this came across this bonsai tiramisu and it looked really

interesting so we got it this is a thousand yen and this one is a real pot

and it looks look how real it looks but this is all edible

they come in three flavors we got the plain one but they also have matcha and

kinako

Tastes really good I'm not sure if

it tastes like tiramisu though but it like it tastes like cake

yum

불공평한(?) 김우성 반장 당선! Unfairly(?) Elected Kim WooSung!::Makestar - Duration: 16:38.

Brief game time!

The start of Kim WooSung hidden camera?!

WooSung prank time~♪

The Rose's candle studio

that elected(?) Kim WooSung!

Feels like we're at a lab

(JaeHyeong...) Ahh it's leaking!

Hey, careful!

(You...) Who spilled this?

I know!

There's some on the side too

(Kim WooSung (26, design maniac)) Design! Design! DESIGN!

Oh, design?

This can be edited with a knife!

((Design maniac) leading up to the design) Why? Ah! Designing with a knife!

(Lee JaeHyeong spilled AGAIN!) Ahhh!!

Hey, we gotta switch man!

But what happens if there's none left at the end and it only fills up until here?

(Lee HaJoon (25, shape maniac) Then let's make a shape with that!

Pour bit by bit after it hardens up

(Yes, JaeHyeong! Nice Idea!) Let's switch roles!

I'll try

I'll try my best

That means that he can do better than JaeHyeong

(Attacking JH) I won't spill

I will try pouring this without spilling

That's not it~

Oh, he's actually good at it

(Found talent) I have nothing to say!

Nice!

What's that antenna LOL

It's a V!

(Sorry!) Ah! V!

(Detailed Kim WooSung) I wish that would cover up that face.. I should've stuck that lower

Make a new one

Aren't we putting this in?

(Lee HaJoon...) Later, only 80%!

(Lee HaJoon...) Didn't you listen to the instructions earlier?

What number was it!

(My mistake!) Ah! Sorry, it's not on here

Is this the last one?

(Last wax! Getting filled!)

We could do something with the leftovers

((Unexpected appeal) perhaps casted in the future..) I knew that some would be leftover

((Unexpected appeal) perhaps casted in the future..) for fun! for entertainment!

(Wow.. so fun..) So entertaining...

Before decorating, wax needs to harden up 80%

so should we play a game?

(Let's go game!!) Shall we start the game?

While we wait for the wax to harden up, we're gonna play a game

What game are we playing?

[Do Not Say game] You must not use a word/do something that other members choose for you!

[Loser will get a penalty]

There's a penalty?

[Members can decide on it]

What shall be our penalty?

((First) The hairband) I spy that Mickey Mouse hairband

((OK!) Plus, add the doll) Put on the hairband, hold the doll

((Finale) Write your name with your butt) Writing your name with your butt?

Sexy much

((sexy???) impossible LOLOL) Writing your name with your butt, SEXILY

You look super confident

((The Rose ver.) Cute&Sexy) Is this a mixture of cute and sexy?

Right~

(Will it be.. possible...) I hope I'm not the one...

(Will it be.. possible...) Me too...

Does the winner get something too?

[Pr..ize... ?]

Oh!? Prize? Trip to Hawaii?

((Astonished staffs) WHAT?) This house!!!

((Counting their chickens already) we said nothing;;;) Nice~ Such a cozy house!

Okay! JaeHyeong, go out first!

(JaeHyeong's Day) I'm like the official number 1 today

Yeah LOL You're the official no.1 haha

What word does he use a lot?

"Okay!"

((Group opposition) No~ That's not it~) No~ He doesn't use that word that much here

"I"

"I" is nice

"I" works!

((JaeHyeong) Can I stay out longer?)

((So much spirit) Spirit-filled Lee JaeHyeong) Nice song!

Am I next?

(EXCITED) I know HaJoon

Already?

Hold on! Wait until he puts on his earphones

((HaJoon) Huh? It's the bridge?)

Bridge! LOL Let's go

HaJoon's word should be "Oh!"

((So easy) One shot one kill HaJoon's forbidden word)

((So easy) One shot one kill HaJoon's forbidden word) He's gonna fail 100%

He's gonna get the penalty!

((Kim WooSung) Excited much? LOL) He's the one~~~

If we choose the word that he uses the most, game over lol

((Big mistake) It's not it~) I think I already know what you guys are gonna pick for me

Good luck!

Please turn up the music volume~

I can't hear a thing!

Okay! Start!

For DoJoon, it can be either

"Ah! Then," and

"Ah! That could be it"

Too long!

Really?

But he uses it a lot

Agreed

(Detailed to the bone) Does he use it often even when he's filming?

(Detailed to the bone) Yeah, he does!

He's like "Ah! Then we~"

There's another one

(How do you guys know him so well LOL) "Now!" He's like "Then now~" "So now~"

"Now" it is!

"Now!"

I enjoyed all the fun and now I have to leave

Did you have fun?

Are you guys all picking out a word? Picking out a gesture works too

Ah, gesture???

((Penalty is) gonna be you, hyung LOL) Hyung! Hurry up and go!

Just go already!

Huh, unfair!

For WooSung, wouldn't the gesture be

(Ideas falling out (like a shooting star) LOL) No, this!

Touching his bangs

But he can't touch it right now

No he touches it even when his hair is all set

((100%) This is it)

He's gonna touch this A LOT

((You're st..still...good-looking...) Must you be so excited?)

Ah~ Right right LOLOL

Am I not WooSung yet?

I really can't hear a thing haha

Hyung, which song did you listen to?

(HUH?)

What song is that?

I don't know the title~

Sounds like TWICE

Heart Shaker!

((Harsh word x100) SO NICE THEIR VOICES)

[We're gonna put on a timer for 5 minutes]

Let's pick out a topic

so we can dive into conversaztion

((Documentary NO) No serious talk please..) What about our dinner menu?

Oh, nice!

Right?

Menu sounds good!

(The Rose, walk the meal path~♥) So hungry..!

((Again,) JaeHyeong's Day) Let's start from JaeHyeong and say what we want to have for dinner

Shall we take a vote?

Shall we?

((Astonished Roses) Ah, we didn't start yet?)

Start!

Starting from now, they're gonna count up the times you say a word or do a gesture that we chose

Korean, Chinese, Western, Japanese!

We're in Itaewon right now

((Someone know what's up!) Itaewon=Western) I'll vote for Western food!

(H..huh?) Be more specific, what kind of Western food?

(H..huh?) What?

((Aight aight~) Keep on trying~) I'm trying to use words that I don't use that often!

((That's not it) So unfair) Wait.. Mine isn't "speaking English" or something like that, right?

Then we would've done "speaking Korean"

((WooSung's gesture is a) bit like scam...) That would be a scam!

Unfair~

First, Western food! Let's get into the details later

Japanese for me

Like...

Raw fish bibimbap!

Sounds so good~

Korean pancake seems good~

((Serious) Maybe we should've filmed in Gongdeok?) Korean pancake? That has nothing to do with Itaewon

Mexican for me?

(You... fool....) Cause we're at Itaewon!

((Continuing from last episode) Lee JaeHyeong genius theory) I really think JaeHyeong's a genius

Why??

((WooSung+Black Rose) will find out soon...) Just see the video later

(WooSung LOL You have no clue LOLOL)

Ah! Curry!

"Coughing" isn't my gesture, is it?

Coughing?

Did you cough a lot right now?

A LOT

Ah! We should've done that!

(Eyes-shake of 7.0 magnitude) One!!

Huh?

Ah~ Is number a forbidden word for someone?

(Here! Catch the answer!) Are we supposed to do something when you say a number?

Are you leading?

No, purely for fun

((Thank you!) Caught the answer!) Ah!! I think I know!!

I got it!

You got it?

I think it's my word

((Ayy...) So bad at lying WooSung!) But you just said your word a bunch just now

Uh huh, I got it! Not gonna use it from now!

(Aiming) Flicking this?

Flicking what?

(Prepared to catch a big fish!) Flicking this lid!!

(CAUGHT A BIG ONE!) Person that flicks the lid farthest away!

Let's do it!!

One, two, three!

((10 seconds before ending) Glad you found out...) Wait! I think I know what mine is!)

Is it touching this lid??

Ah, I trusted you guys!!

((SO FUN) teasing WooSung) That's so unfair!

((In the meanwhile) Crying because DoJoon so cute) Yay~~~

Isn't mine "Oh?"

Yeah

Right?

(So unfair!)

[Here are the results]

[JaeHyeong's word "I"]

[HaJoon's word "Oh", DoJoon's word "Now"]

Did I use it?

No you didn't use it that much

You used it but not that much

((WooSung says) I trusted you guys....) I was touching this the whole time!

(You bad friends..) This is so unfair!!!

Can't count how many times he touched that LOLOL

That's so unfair!!

((★CONGRATS★) President Kim!Woo!Sung!) Hyung, if this were the president elections, you would be elected, no doubt

That's why I said JaeHyeong must be a genius

(Anyhow!) WooSung non-stop touches things that are in front of him

(Anyhow! WooSung loses) He would've done the same if it were a pen

[Another round?]

[Take turns and go outside!]

Starting from WooSung this time

Don't forget, gestures!

He could be like "They wouldn't do it again" and touch it

I think so too

But it's a hit or miss

He could be like "I'm just gonna do nothing"

[staff : What about laughing? HAHAHA]

That's so mean!

((On the same boat) Elections again?) Laughing would be just like the last round

Something different? that he does a lot?

Looking that way?

((2nd) Teasing WooSung LOL) Oh! Nice!

Cause I think he's gonna be conscious of his actions

((I think it's you again) ★WooSung★) WooSung! Be careful!

If the same person loses, will he be doing the penalty twice?

With a different hairband and a doll?

(Ha... Feels like me again...)

For DoJoon,

"Ah!" What about that?

No~ Let's pick out a gesture he uses a lot

[staff : blinking? LOL]

((It's fine!) As long as it's not me LOL) Nice!

That's so mean!!

(Happy WooSung) It's just brazenly attacking DoJoon

What about this gesture?

((Every Black Rose knows) DoJoon does that a lot) This hand gesture?

Yes!!

((Target changed) Attacking Park DoJoon now) What's up with this atmosphere!

(It's you this time!) It's YOU!

Last round of the game taught us much

NOT touching that

So everyone now moved onto the gesture?

((Lee JaeHyeong...) He is.. a genius..) That's why I put the lid over here

HaJoon said "What about this for DoJoon?" and I was like he would know cause we just picked that

((Park DoJoon) Hint +1) That means it's not that for me

((So obvious..) Why the deep concerns?) It's a hit or miss!

((So obvious..) Why the deep concerns?) He kept on touching the lid just now

Let's do "laughing" for HaJoon!

((Of course) Lee HaJoon=Laughing) Not just a normal laugh

Yes, that would be better

Then we could easily lead up to his penalty

I'm scared..

Be nice everyone!

(Revealing JaeHyung ver.2 for Black Roses)

What should we pick?

Should we pick the same one?

For him? I don't think he would touch it though

This???

He does this a lot

Touching his collars?

(Why so serious...?) Touching the back of his head

Does he do that often?

Yeah even just now

What about coughing?

Yes!!!

((Park DoJoon) Drooling over happiness LOL)

Are you guys done?

Yes~

(So little time (to show off my energy)) Why did you guys decide on mine so quickly! I was having fun!

[What will be your topic this time?]

Japanese and Mexican!

(Japanese vs Western neverending story..) Not decided yet~

(Japanese vs Western neverending story..) Which one shall it be

Let's decide on one and tell the menu to our manager

Start!

5 minutes is a shorter than you think~ You guys gotta speak up!

((No reason!!) Cause you're too cute♥) Why are you all looking at me!

Why me LOLOL

Ah why is this so funny hahaha

(Lee HaJoon (25, MC fairy)) Mexican or Japanese- choose one!

For me.. Mexican!

(Is this such a serious question?) I liked the raw fish bibimbap!

(Is this such a serious question?) Raw fish bibimbap?

Mexican!

Japanese for us two

Then let's split up in 2

What's the most famous thing about Itaewon!

((No~) Hong Seok-cheon is) Mexican food!

((No~) Hong Seok-cheon is) Since we're at Itaewon, we gotta have some Mexican food!

(Only you don't know..) They're counting whenever I meet eyes with them!

But Chinese sounds good too..

(No, that's not it) Let's eat that when we get back home

Okay!

(So, what's the menu?) So is it Japanese or Mexican?

How about rock paper scissors?

Sounds good!

(No, that's not it.) Is it this for me?

Can't tell!

Similar!

(Has to be one of these..)

It's not clapping...

Not this either...

((Blinking?) Ah.. telepathy..?) Blinking?

((Blinking?) Ah.. telepathy..?) They just counted looking at me!

Is it showing my teeth?

(Did you really pick showing my teeth!?)

That would be too much!

(Cause it's funny LOLOL) Why do you guys keep doing this too me!

Why! You could speak like this

((Visual band..) Don't waste your visuals..) You could talk like this

If you guys really picked showing my teeth

No we didn't

(Awkward DoJoon) Would be funny if it were true~

We didn't pick too obvious ones

(Relax~) Right? We need to be fair to some extent~

But why are you guys all covering up your teeth?

Let's not show our teeth for 1 minute

Why?

Cause I think it's funny!

Is it?

[Give us an update on The Rose]

(Guy full of doubt) Wait! Is it something related to updates?

We're practicing, writing songs

((Touched) Next album.. (sniff)) Working on our next album!

I think we're almost finshed!

I think I know mine

What?

Coughing?

((Liers..) JaeHyeong is NOT COUGHING) Coughing? No~ That was something you talked about, so we didn't pick it

It's not laughing for me, is it?

Laughing??

(Park DoJoon (26, cannot lie)) You.. you! laughing is.. okay)

Why is he stuttering LOL

(Should've picked that instead..) It's not stuttering for me, is it?

No, that's exactly it!!

(No, that's not it.) Hey, I think it's really true!!

No??

Ah, I think I know

((Park DoJoon LOLOL) HAND GESTURES!!!) When we first started, wait game is over right?

(No, "really" is not it.) First I though "really" was my word

I think it's "now" LOLOLOL

[Shall we announce from JaeHyeong?]

From me? Hold on!!

[JaeHyeong's "coughing" 5 times]

[HaJoon's "laughing"]

I knew it!

[2 times!]

I felt it from the start

He was very conscious of his laugh

[It was very competitive between you two]

Wait, what was mine????

[WooSung was "eye contact" and DoJoon was "hand gesture"]

Eye contact with who??

(Never imagined LOLOL)

We thought you would be super conscious of your actions

I kept on looking!!

[But due to the final spurt, WooSung...did not lose and DoJoon lost!]

((Hand gesture explosion) DoJoon lost!) He kept on using his hands at the end

So relieved!

[Should we move on to decorating after the penalty?]

Ah... do I have to write my name with my butt?

I'm a white rose so I pick white

There's another white one

Hmm.. I think that's sort of erotic..

((Kim WooSung...) What are you imagining..) Erotic? How is this erotic?

(What's sexy about them?) That's more erotic

Why don't you guys step onto the table

Help.....

[I think you guys should step onto the chair..]

On the chair???

(Always does his best) Hey, hold on!

(Ones who brought it up lost) Someone clearly said CUTE and SEXY!

When you guys are editing this

((So we prepared) slow~~) Fast forward! Can you guys do that?

((Next up) Kim WooSung) Better than expected!

((So!) background music for you!) PLEASE put some background music!

Sexily! Must write it sexily!

(What is that...) How do you write "o"? Is this correct?

How is that an "o"

((Replay!) For WooSung!)

((WooSung) Surely knows how to groove~~) Look at all three of us concentrating on his butt LOL

Since it's hardened up, we can start decorating!

Those who are not decorating, please write the card!

Please do 3~4 decorations!

We will write up the cards

(GLOBAL BAND THE ROSE) Let's do it this way! Write one in English and one in Korean

and I'll also write one in English and one in Korean

((DoJoon.. It's okay..) People make mistakes...) How do you spell 'whose'?

Right, rihgt? My handwriting suddenly looked so ugly

((Teacher Jung-hoon..?) DoJoon's English tutor) I'll teach you English when we get back home!

Thank you~

I just put one in, put yours wherever you want

A more flatter one!

Finger style!

Bamboo shoot! ("JOOK-SOON")

((Adlib competition) JaeHyeong vs HaJoon) Sprining up everywhere! ("Ooh-hoo-JOOK-SOON")

((Adlib competition) JaeHyeong vs HaJoon) Which means ("Geu-mal-in-JOOK-SOON")

((JaeHyeong) Stop being weird and write the card) JaeHyeong, please write the card now

You turned the most normal one into a strange one

(Kim WooSung (26, design maniac)) I will make a crazy design on this prettily designed candle

I will fold this up!

Let's put them in

((Woohoo) Rose masterpiece) Beautiful!

Let's put the card inside too

This was NOT leaked by JaeHyeong

It was intended as part of a design!

(I have no idea...) Why is my name included in this?

How will the candles be delivered?

[By parcel...]

((Technically correct..) Yes that is correct..)

4 people who leave comments will be chosen

and we will send these to you guys~

Leave lots and lots of comments!

Sending our luck to you guys!

Thank you!

This was The Rose's Candle Studio

no sé

nosotros no

20 Piano Hacks To Instantly Sound Like A PRO!!! - Duration: 30:59.

hello musicians this is Corey Taylor from SkilledMusician.com where we are

helping musicians improve thank you all so much for checking out

this video today now today's video we're gonna focus on the stuff that gets

overlooked but it's tremendously important to making you sound great I've

called them piano hacks but what they are small little things that the pros

do not the big run or the big cord but the stuff they do in between before that

that that will make your playing sound amazing

so I had so many of these little hacks that I wanted to share with you all that

I had to split this video up into two parts so today we're gonna do part one

and then next week we'll release part two so definitely stay tuned and watch

both of those also check out our new Instagram page and check out our

Facebook page as well I have links to those in the description box so

definitely check those out we'll be releasing some new fun stuff I'm

hatching competition in some contests and we'll be starting some live videos

on Facebook and Instagram so definitely subscribe to those so you can be

notified when we go live so also remember we have a link to the sheet

music in the description box below so for each concept where we're talking

about we create the sheet music for it and you can grab that in the description

box below also we have a free downloadable lead sheet for our example

song that we're going to be using we're gonna use one example song for all of

these piano hacks and so that's free just just go in description box click

the link and download it alright lastly I wanted to tell you a YouTube family

thank you all some of y'all really reached out to me I was wondering why I

wasn't that bloating but I was out of commission for a little bit but I'm back

and we're releasing videos every week now so thank y'all who checked up on me

and I really really appreciate y'all so with that said let's not waste any more

time let's get started

so oftentimes musicians that I work with and teach they'll get the big stuff but

what they don't realize is that it's the small thing still the little licks here

the little ideas here their little movement here their little delay there

which makes they make the song that make the playing sound you make the make your

playing sound amazing and so what I want to do is I'm going to share a whole

bunch of these little small things that put together will drastically improve

your playing so we're going to use a song and this song is based based off of

a song by Dinah McClurkin called at the mention of your name so some of the

melody is a little different some of the chords are different but I've created a

lead sheet for you can download free you can download it just click in the

description box below and download that lead sheet and so that would be the

template that I'll use to demonstrate all these ideas and the song is an F so

I'm gonna play through it and I'm gonna play through it kind of kind of verbatim

left the lead sheet like how I see a lot of students play and then we'll start

adding some of these piano hacks as I called them so here's a song

you

all right so that's the so I'm coming with the melody for the most part now

we're gonna start taking these things apart adding things and really improve

your playing so let's get started

so many of my students when they're playing songs they just play the basic

chord so for instance on our demo song you see the first chord is f major with

the a as the melody so many times our students are played as

and then the second chord is f again f major with in first version with a and

the bass on the root on the bottom excuse me and seeing the melody so we do

this alright so many of my students will play it like that the next chord is a

b-flat major chord so the something like that so

and there's nothing wrong with that there are many times that I'll I prefer

to play that sound because it's what I need in the moment but let's yeah let's

create some other options I'm so some of the first options you can do is you can

extend the chords in other videos I've talked about colors so you can extend

chords and and and get add different colors or nones to the court that aren't

necessarily in this basic chord I used the example of like a hamburger my

Hamburg plain hamburgers like bread meat bread now if you had ketchup you've

added a different color or a different taste to the hamburger still a hamburger

but a different taste you add mustard some more taste you know

lettuce tomatoes and as you add more it's still a hamburger but now you've

transformed the plain hamburger into something delicious you know all right

so let's let's transform our chords from plain chords into something more so as

for our score all right so there are a couple extensions we can we can add so

if we take a basic F major chord at facing the the first extension you can

add it's the 7th so

gives the kind of a jazzy sound another extent and where I get that number 7

from he play Pascal 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 so so here's F major seven another one is

the ninth so one right there so and I'm gonna

leave out the seven for now so here's here than I let me bring the nine down

that's myself all right okay and let me give you one

more which will be the sixth or the thirteen so one two three four five six

seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen so Dee

mmm and it looks like a D minor seven if you're familiar with these chords but

it's also a f6 that's a nice color so those are three

colors you can add to your chords so let's just take the first three chords

of our song F f invert it and then b-flat and let's start adding these

colors so let's play it again for you just basic oh I had a color sorry stay

basic you

all right there it is so on this first chord let's maybe add the 13th so on F

this first F let's add this the 13 which is d

it's nice on this next court let's add so we invert the earth let's add the 7

that's beautiful on this B flat that's a different chord

let's add I don't know the 13 so let's figure out how we get the thirteenth in

B flat so let's play the B flat major scale 13 or the 6 so that's a G so we

have a regular B flat major chord how many add the G so let's do it again

let's change some um on the first chord let's play hmm let's add the 9 on the

first word instead of the seven so and many times I might leave out the F right

here because I have it down here so all right on the second chord

I have the seven well let's add the seventh and the nine so I'll keep the

seventh there and I'm having 9th on the left hand here so let's try it let's try

it so here it is again from the top so we have and then let's put our B flat

let's do just to make B flat major 7 as beautiful and then you see how we're

extending and adding colors to our notes so you can go through the entire song

and really begin to add colors to your place so now it's not just a it's kind

of stock sound but then we start getting something

right these different colors all right so that's one way you can definitely

improve your play

next Peter hack is to make the melody stand out and I have two ways to make

the melody stand out okay so you'll hear it all this are my kind of old veterans

in the game and the music Aten that is that the melody is your friend Melia is

the most important thing and so when you're playing songs you want them to be

recognizable and so you definitely want the melody to be there and so you want

the melody to stand out so often I have my students they'll come and play and

let's take our demo song now playing

and the melody kind of gets lost it amongst all the other notes so when is

that by useful many of my student says make the I you know the group Gladys

Knight & the Pips that's the old group so make the melody Gladys Knight and the

rest of the notes the pips in the background so so so what that means

physically is you're gonna play your melody louder and back down on the

volume on the rest of the notes so it sounds easy in theory but something

harder doing it real finger controls so let me try playing just the first little

bit and see if you can hear it so

hear that

all right so you did she out me the melody stand out still playing courts of

disease these are here but they're not front and center in your face over the

melody make the melody Center

so that's one way to really improve your playing gets make the melody stand out

all right another way to really separate the melody make the melody stand of it

is is to separate it from the rest of the nose literally separated so let's

take the first three chords of our demo songs we have right so F F again and

then B flat right well one thing you'll see me often do is do kind of a drop two

style of voicing and I have a video and drop two voicings that I put it it was

part of a bigger left hand series but I really took some time to I dressed drop

two voicings so definitely I'll put a card somewhere up here that you can

click and definitely check out that video because we really really got into

drop two voicings pretty good all right so so how do i doodle eyes out here so

if you weren't didn't see the video yet but drop two voicing simply means take

this second highest voice and lower why do we do that so the first chord we're

gonna take this F here and lower it a down octave and I might do another

octave but the point is we don't want any sound competing with the melody so

we separate the belly same thing with this course is a I have it done here I

can put it here

you see you can literally see as I play there's no note really close to the

melody as always it at least more than a third distance

all right now then I did something but the whole idea is to separate the melody

from the rest of the chord and that way your melody ends up sticking out and

it's really

you see this

so when you're playing you don't really have to worry about playing harder

because the melody is has this separation so that's another way you can

improve your play using that piano hack of separating the melody from the rest

of the chord

okay this is this is a really really big one this is one that we use all the time

to really improve the playing and that's what is it

so rhythmically displacing voicings voices so rhythmically displacing voices

that's technical terms for meaning don't play everything at the same time so many

my students when they play they'll play black cords

which is okay and has it and there's a definitely a time to do that but not all

the time so I want to give you some more options so they're out let me give you

I'll give you four ways to displace the voices the first way play the melody

first and then the rest of the chord alright so let's try that so here it is

you see

all right you see that's really and it works often you don't want to do it

everywhere because then you get this kind of weird timing issue but it's

definitely a great way to separate the melody as we talked about previously but

really to get away from these block courts now right okay another way let's

see let's do melody so the melody the outside voice is the melody and the

lowest voice in my left hand let's do those together so here we go

I'm sorry

all right so that idea right there really really is used often I mean often

often um I don't know I haven't really heard a musician not do that jazz gospel

whatever John reaches that option is really used heavily so definitely get

that one under your belts using playing the melody and the outside voice is the

highest and the lowest voice first and then playing the inside voices let me

give you another one I'm playing the left-hand guide tone first so if you

don't know the gaya tone is it's the third and seventh of the chords so for

playing for example F major seven

you want to play at the 3rd or the 7th now so third of 7th on 3rd and 6th and

depending on the core 3rd or 6 depending on the court alright so I utilize this

often on dominant chords and so what the idea is it's playing the guy turning in

your left hand first before you play the rest of the court so okay what I'm gonna

add a quarter here just for fun so after this B flat I'm at a b7 sharp knives

sharp 5 you see that and so it's for this b7 sharp 9 shot 5 the guide tones

are right d sharp and this a right

so

so it's matter

so you sort of did I hit the guys on first and I often do the third so I

won't use this seventh much I'll often use a third so

you see there's nothing to try the one some didn't

right here yeah so and what I'm doing is I'm going to first explore that b7 sharp

line chart 5 I'm not going I'm not going to play the 3rd in my left hand so I'll

proceed it by a half step and B 2 half steps

maybe I'll surround it maybe I'll do double surround

I might nothing this is it there's a hit what no

whatever

yeah all right so that's another way by playing the left hand I'm guy on first

and let's see I have one more for you and that's displacing the hand and so

playing for me I enjoy playing the right hand first followed by the left hand so

let me show you

you don't wanna use it everywhere

all right so you see it gives you this and what's cool about this is especially

in your right hand when you're playing kind of extensions when you play your

right hand kind of it kind of floats a little bit cuz we don't have contacts

and then you add the left hand which kind of grounds the sound so what it how

you see and then I've changed a chord a little bit so massage try again just

kind of floats then give it grounding

okay so that's a cool thing

see yeah I thought so that's four ways to rhythmically displace your voices so

the first way was played just a melody by itself and then the rested chord the

second way was play the melody and so the outside voice is the melody and

lowest note to get together and then at the middle voices third way it was play

I'm the guide tone in your left hand first and then the rest of the court and

then the fourth way is played one hand before the other and I don't pay my

right hand before my left hand all right so that's another way to another piano

hack for you to improve the plane

so another piano hack for you that will dramatically change your sound is grace

notes now anybody in gospel jazz R&B country we all use grace notes and so

the idea of grace notes is playing another note right before you play your

target note so let's say I'm just going to play a so I will play and for today

I'm gonna demonstrate two types of grace notes so the chromatic grace know is one

that's a half-step below so we'll say Qi sharp so on so let's say

I'm playing a on the beat so right yeah

so right before my I'm supposed to play my guitar you know I'm sorry I'm playing

that G sharp another one is kind of what I call scaler verse note which is means

in the scale so so in that case if I'm in F for instance the one below would be

G is that so we had G here G sharp a different sound and they're

appropriate for different occasions and I argue to ask both of them so now let

me give you let me give you two different methodologies for adding grace

notes there are many many many ways but this is just a way to get you started if

you're unfamiliar with these okay so one way is let's take a triad in root

position tell this stick with the key of F and that's made to try it here's what

I like to do I like to take my middle note which is a a and I like to grace

into that note so right here

sound should sound for me to survive you know that's now right let's try the G

I've heard that sound before

Yeah right

now let me give you a little tip because most people miss this and people I see

trying to play grace know so many times they'll play them wrong in this case

it's it's it's not a true grace note like so in essence instead it's not

before the court like you play this and then you better call it right that's not

really what it is what is this you see that okay so let me show you one more

way to grace which is doing both the G and the G sharps have done both the

scaler and the chromatic one it's together this is one gospel musicians

use all the time that's kind of a way to kind of bend the notes a little bit we

can't really bend notes on the piano unless you use the pitch Bend but so

this is our way of kind of bending getting in between the notes right all

right so something let's say but what happens

when you're playing inversions of course so let's say yeah we know if we're

playing in root position you know we can grace into this a time to move invert

the chord here I'm still gonna grace into the a even an inverted

even on vert up someone bringing down octave yeah

all right so now one cool thing let me give you two more cool things you can do

with these is and this works over every court every major chord so let's go to C

let's try it here so it'd be alright so now you'll see me sliding from one note

to the next that's something we do but that doesn't work in every key so you

should get familiar with playing two fingers as well it works when you're

able to slide from the Black Keys down to the white keys but you can't really

slide up that's at least very difficult so she give them familiar with you

things using two fingers not one all the time okay now one cool thing is let's

say I'm playing a b-flat major with some extensions so I have a belief that meant

for major not so if you look up here this is I asked

major try right there well I can still do my grace now from F right over the

flat what I did was I went back down I

here so and this idea works over minor chords now our minor chord in root

position doesn't really work like that well I said we played a D minor 11 so D

minor 7 9 11 well the sticker on top right there that

it's a C major triad so now I'm gonna do the same thing there alright so you can

utilize my minor chords or major majors with different extensions I'm still

looking for that triad and then make it happen there so that's one way you can

think of using grace notes another way if you're just skin started you it's

still a little confusing to you another way you can utilize them is that's just

of my students here just try grace and gracing the 3rd and 6th of the key so in

the key of F the third notice a on the sixth notice D one two three four five

six so it's almost do this anytime just practice now anytime you see a a and D

and you're in the key of F just grace into the note so

right here

so anytime I plant rent plan a and D I'm gracing into I'm trying to grace into

both of them and that way time to think about the cause I'm just thinking a and

D whenever I see a and D use those now that's a great way to get started

gracing at the notes okay so graceless two ways take the middle middle note the

third of the chord of a major chord and greats into that or just take the third

and sixth of the key in creation of those two okay so that's grace notes

okay Wow so you made it through those alright

great job thanks for watching all the way through now your job now is to go

and try to apply these and it might take a week you might take two weeks it might

take a month it might take two hours but definitely apply them each one

individually get it down and master it and then move on to the next one all

right remember we have sheet music in the

description box for each concept so definitely grab that and also check out

our social media pages our Instagram page and Facebook page and I'll put a

link to those in the description box below alright so thank y'all so much for

watching this again my name is corey taylor from SkilledMusician.com where

4 ways to use your Tombows, Brush pen Techniques - Duration: 6:28.

hello friends I'm Smitha Katti and welcome to another smiling colors video

thanks so much for stopping by today in today's video I'm going to be showing 4

different ways to use your tumbles so you all know that I love my combos I

love this pastel set especially so I'm sharing 4 projects today each one of

them uses a different technique so let's get started and I'll show you more so

for this first project I'm going to do a little bit of water coloring I'm just

gonna color and then paint with water that's as simple as it gets

these tombow brush pens have a brush tip as the name suggests so what I do is I

just lay down the color wherever I want it on the paper you want to use a nice

thick quality paper for this and then I dip my paintbrush in the water and then

I paint over it since these pens are water reactive the color just softened

with the water and you're able to spread it like watercolours and this is a very

quick non messy way of water coloring these markers are so easy to carry

around at the come in a neat package as well

I love doing this technique and I've done a I've done it many times

but I never tire of it and I'm just drying basic simple flower shapes so

once I had all the flowers in there at the perfect phrase that came to mind was

hello spring so using the tombow mono permanent marker is the pen tip not the

marker tip I just quickly letter the words hello spring I made the words fit

into the space that was left above and I didn't do any fancy brush lettering or

anything just some basic cursive letters once the flowers had dried to the touch

I just went over the black line just to highlight them a little bit more and

here's how the finished project looks I used all of the colors from the set and

I created a fun little garden of my own and I love how this project turned out

okay for the second one here I'm doing brush lettering since this dual brush

pens come with a brush tip you can do brush lettering which is a style of

calligraphy in which your up strokes are thinner and your down strokes are

thicker since I wanted to use all of the nine colors from the set I just changed

colors every two three letters and this is how my lettering turned out very

colorful and pretty okay in a project number three this idea is one of my

favorite ones actually for this one I'm using a mixed media paper which is

important because you're gonna be layering a lot of color on here so I'm

starting with the dark yellow color and I'm just doodling some outlines of

flowers then with the colorless blender which is included in every set I'm just

dragging the color to kind of fill in the petals I'm repeating this with a

neck with the next color which is the lighter yellow here and I'm slightly

overlapping it just so that the colors kind of blend when I drag them I'm just

gonna overlap the colors draw messy outlines of flowers and then use my

colorless blender to drag the color and color in the petals this works well on

mixed media papers because the pigment gets to sit on the paper for a few

seconds without being absorbed in that time I can take the colors lender pen

and drag the color and move it easily and I like the way that I could fill the

entire page by overlapping the colors and create this soft pastel background

this one especially has a very zen-like feel it's a very repetitive pattern

you're just drawing those flowers and coloring it in and mixing the colors and

by the end you just enjoy it and relax so much I loved how this turned out I

really think I need to add a coat on top of it but I might just scan it first and

make it into a note card or something I'm not sure yet

okay that brings us to the final project of course I saved the best for the last

this is another mixed-media sketchbook of mine and I'm going to be coloring in

an illustration that I've drawn before this one says always be yourself it's a

nice mermaid theme and I thought this pastel colors would be just beautiful

with it coloring with the dual brush pens is so much fun because of the brush

tip you can color in like the narrow areas but then if you have to color in a

larger area the brush tip is so useful to fill in larger bigger areas as well

not only that you can add in shading by just adding the color and dragging it

with the colorless blender again I used all of the colors in the pact color in

my illustration but I needed a nice skin tone color for the mermaid skin and I

decided to create that by using the blending palette I added the lighter

pink and the lighter yellow that comes in the pack and mixed them together with

a little bit of green just a hint of green and then using my colorless

blender I just colored in the skin and I liked the way it turned out

for the hair I created a dark caramely color and something you need to keep in

mind is if you're laying down a lot of color like with the yellow here the area

in which you lay down the marker that will be a darkest area so you want to

lay down the color in the areas where you would see the shadows and then drag

the color with a colorless blender or a lighter color so you get this nice play

between light and dark I didn't do a really in-depth coloring I spent like

maybe 10 or 15 minutes coloring in this sketch today

this is actually an illustration of mine and I will leave a link where you can

find the illustration and color it yourself if you want to

but that brings us to the end of this video I quickly showed you four

different ways to use your tumble brush pens in this first example we did a

little bit of water coloring in the second example we did some brush

lettering in the third example we did some overlapping of color and use the

colorless blender to blend everything and in the fourth example we did some

basic coloring just coloring in the lines but these colors are so beautiful

and they go together so well that you don't have to think much you're just

reaching for the colors and putting it in that is something that I love about

using a smaller set of colors when they're just nine or ten markers to

choose from you just reach if I want a green I reach

for the green that's in the set but I know that my end project the art that I

create will always have a well coordinated look because these colors

are all designed to go together the color selection has already been done

for you and that is one of the best things for me so I hope this video give

you a few more ideas on how to use your set of tombos don't forget to give this

video a thumbs up share this video and also subscribe to my channel I'll be

back soon again with more videos till then happy crafting

you

DAY6 Introducing My Instrument #2 Wonpil - Duration: 7:48.

Introducing my instrument (Wonpil)

Hi! This is Wonpil of DAY6.

The instrument I want to introduce to you today is the keyboard.

Q. About the keyboard's position in the band?

First of all, the keyboard adds a little power to the guitar sound and is in charge of the harmony within the band.

It's an instrument that gives more warmth.

Q. How did you start playing the keyboard?

My parents used to run a piano institute, so I grew up seeing and hearing the instrument.

And I apparently loved singing from a very young age.

As I got older I naturally came to love singing and when I started to sing,

I didn't like singing acapella

So I thought it would be cool if I could sing while playing an instrument which automatically lead me to play the keyboard.

My parents didn't really teach me at home.

I looked up online and I started by copying the chords and hands and playing along easy k-pop chords.

Singing gradually lead me to playing the keyboards I think.

Q. Composition of the instrument?

The composition I use, first of all there is the synthesizer

But today I will use this 88 keyboard which I can connect to the computer and give you a brief introduction.

Firstly, you can refer to this music program as a 'sequencer'.

The reason I use a computer is because I can play sounds that the keyboard cannot make by itself.

All types of synth use sound that are imprinted in the computer,

So the biggest concern for me is how to convey these sounds in a live stage.

But I can overcome it all. Because I am Kim Wonpil!

Q. Any tips on playing the keyboard?

I save all the set lists inside the laptop, so I have to press the right sound as I play.

I have to change the sources.

For example I'm playing "I Wait"

And the next song is "You were Beautiful",

Then I have to change the source like so.

I have to click and change the source quickly in my own time.

If I fail to do this,

Then this happens.

If this happens, then I'm going to break into a cold sweat.

Therefore I always have to check closely.

So the right sounds come out accordingly.

Long time ago, there were so many sources so I had trouble deciding how to do it.

Now, it's not a problem.

I'm not sure if this is a tip or not though.

Q. Songs of DAY6 that the keyboard stands out?

I would like to pick 4 songs.

"I Smile", "You Were Beautiful", "When You Love Someone" and "I'll Try"

In these 4 songs the keyboard really stands out.

The voicing in "I Smile" is just beautiful as it is.

In the beginning,

There is a sad yet bright feel

Somehow I am listening to it a lot nowadays.

I really like "I Smile" and "You Were Beautiful" is a song that I put a lot of emotion into while playing.

It starts with a minor chord,

And this harmony in the background

This harmony adds to the guitar riffs of Jae and Sungjin, the keyboard builds the harmony on top.

I love the feeling when I add on.

I also like the chorus part

I like this, and in "When You Love Someone" the piano riff is exquisite.

I come to put a lot of emotion into it while playing.

Lastly "I'll Try" is a song that I have to lead to set the overall mood

Therefore I have to control the dynamics very carefully so it requires a lot of attention

But it's also a song that has a very wide range of emotion.

Q. What does the keyboard mean to me?

The keyboard for me, is a window that expands my expression.

If I can only express this much, the keyboard lets me express this much.

With the keyboard and a music program like the sequencer, it lets me express all the sounds that I only imagined in my head

It sometimes creates 100% satisfactory sounds I had in my head, and fulfills up to 80% of my expectations.

So to me the keyboard is "something that widens the scope of my expression."

The Road to Hel - Duration: 16:02.

Hello friends how are you? My name is Arith Härger and today I'm going to talk about the goddess Hel

I'll not deny, this is a Norse deity I have the utmost respect for

and she was one of the four deities that a few pagan ancestors of mine,

the ones I met

used to worship

anyway, I'm not here to talk about me

there's a lot to say about the goddess hel and I'm afraid I'll have make another video

perhaps two more... so with no more delay let's get started

Hel derives from the Gothic word Halja and Old High German Hella

this is a word commonly translated as "Underworld", but the essence of the word transmits the idea of concealment

and a hidden place, indirectly suggesting in a place of darkness

of secrecy, a cave perhaps, something beneath the earth

I am suggesting a cave because in my opinion caves were the first temples of our ancestors

the only places they would find shelter and protection

and in my opinion the oldest religious practices were concerned with death

that's the first fear that plagues the human conscious

at the very moment we come in contact with death

and as mortal beings death has always been present

some people might disagree and tell that the first religious practices were concerned with fertility

but during the Ice Age, for instance, human communities were small-

because there wasn't much to eat and many mouths to feed meant starvation

so the populations of a community were kept small in order to have a better distribution of the food

fertility wasn't the major concern

in fact there must have been a lot of abortions to keep the community small

and since it was the Ice Age the land itself didn't show much fertility

however, death was present everywhere

and as soon as the first rational being was able to understand it's physical limitations

the finality of life

death became a problem, a major concern

the Ice Age was a vast period,

and our ancestors for thousands of generations lived more time during the Ice Age,

than the entire generations for the last 10.000 years

since the Ice Age came to an end

thousands of generations were born, lived and died during an eternal land of ice and harsh conditions

filled with predators

and let's not forget the thousands of years our ancestors lived without the knowledge of fire,

to keep them warm and to keep the Predators at bay

so caves were the strongest and most protective places our ancestors could find

the very first houses, temples, the places the community would gather and learn from the ancients

from the elders

while outside the world was in chaos

to our ancestors caves were sanctuaries,

and it's possible that their first concepts of the afterlife-

was based precisely on the things that made them happy, made them feel protected

and with this being said it's possible that the first concept of the afterlife resembled that of a cave

and it's a small wonder that our ancestors had funeral rites and placed their dead inside the caves

the afterlife, or the underworld, was something leading to the inside of the earth

or a mountain, this huge underground cave protecting the souls of the dead

and since this concept might have been in our minds for more time than all the religions combined

it remained printed in our collective consciousness

this concept of the underworld, which passed on to thousands of cultures

the concept of the afterlife varies from culture to culture, of course

because it's shaped, combining human experiences, knowledge, traditions, culture-

but most importantly it's shaped by what makes us feel protected and what we think it's beautiful

during the Ice Age the only thing our ancestors knew was a dangerous world of ice

and beauty to them was what they would come in contact with

we only know beauty when we come in contact with what we think it's beautiful

if we don't know any better, our concept of beauty remains the same

now, this entire point of view about caves only to tell you that-

the prehistoric concept of the afterlife gave birth to many myths concerning the land of the dead

and the gods that reigned there

and this remained in the pagan conscious for thousands of years

and we can still see it reflected on Norse paganism

especially concerning the goddess Hel

as you know, Hel was considered to be the place in the afterlife closely related to the Christian Hell

a place of suffering and for cowards, the weak

people with no honor or who in life made no great achievements

and this concept was adopted by late Scandinavians themselves

as a place where the old and the sick would go

basically everyone who didn't die gloriously in battle

times change and so do the social, political and religious realities

and in a medieval Scandinavia greatly influenced by Christianity-

the old pagan concepts were transformed

we have to take in mind that in pre-Christian Scandinavia

especially in prehistoric times, before the introduction of Germanic cults

the comprehension of the underworld was just another dimension in the afterlife

and much like the upper world, and our own, it was ruled by a variety of deities

therefor a variety of different realities

it cannot be compared to other pagan realities of the Underworld

such as the Greek Tartarus, for instance

because those realities too were very much changed by Christianity

however, the prehistoric concept of being beneath the earth is still there

due to Christianity and to the Christians Scandinavians who wrote about Norse mythology

Hel was transformed into a very negative concept which gave birth to the word "Hell"

for the Christian Inferno

and to this day in Norway and Sweden there are still words connected to Hell,

which are very negative

for instance, "Helvete"

it's a form of cursing, and very rude

Hel, as a goddess, is a complex concept

you see, when you ask people about the name of the underworld in Norse mythology-

people will automatically say Helheim, the realm of Hel

in the myths, Hel, the goddess, is sent to Niflheim, the world of ice and mist

where she makes her own Hall and she has power over all the nine worlds

all the dead are hers

as I've told, a prehistoric concept of the underworld

there were different realities there [Underworld]

so Hel, as a realm, might either be the name of the entire Underworld or the name of a portion of Nifflheim to where the dead go

and since Norse mythology in the written sources was greatly influenced by Christianity-

there was a need to pick a figure to govern the entire Underworld of Norse mythology

because that was what Christians were used to

those who spread Christianity had had a pagan past equally with an underworld governed by a specific deity

so it became almost a religious rule that every new concept of the underworld introduced in the newly converted societies-

needed a main figure to govern the underworld of their old pagan mythologies

Hades in Tartarus, Pluto for the Romans, Satan, Lucifer the Devil for the Christians

now, the pagan reality was different,

I'm sure a lot of deities were responsible for the Norse Underworld

but having to pick one, why not a female deity?

Norse society was more patriarchal-

but kept matriarchal cults of the past and it is possible that an earth goddess,

a goddess of the underworld, literally the earth beneath our feet,

was still worshipped in many pre-christian cults in the north

and since Christianity has many tales where women are the cause of disgrace and are sinful

picking up a woman to the- to be the deity of the infernal realm of the Norse mythology

and giving her grotesque characteristics,

seems a plausible idea influenced by Christianity

Hel was transformed and was seen as a rotten corpse

the horrific figure of death and decay, disfiguration

an abominable creature

but I'm sure she was once just another earth goddess responsible for the Underworld

along with other deities

and when I mean "earth goddess" I mean- I am NOT referring to fertility

I'm referring to the underground where people placed their dead

in my opinion, Hel is a prehistoric perspective-

is the group of different realities, dimensions, worlds of the Underworld

the earth beneath us, the inside of a mountain, going through a cave

hence, the belief of being a dark place

but at the same time having different realities

it wasn't just dark and somber

but also with a wondrous variety of... let's say... landscapes

let's not forget that portraying Hel as half black and half white, half corpse and half alive

is a Christian concept representing the dualistic view upon death- a good side and a bad side

good people go to heaven and evil ones go to Hell or Inferno

medieval Scandinavians were the ones who wrote about Norse myths

people who turned to the monotheistic religion and dualism infected their entire worldview

perhaps a strong word, but the fact is the Norse mythology is much more Christian than pagan

however, that's when archeology comes to the game

archeology gives us many answers about the religious concepts of certain cultures in the pre-christian past

Hel seems indeed to have been a deity and black

not half this or half that, but black representing darkness and death

but also black belonging to a race of beings from the Norse mythology, uncorrupted by other late religious realities

prehistoric Norse mythology

to me, Hel is a goddess certainly linked to the dead and the Underworld

and Hel was her name - Heljar

which governs over a reality within the underworld

she is responsible for the part, the realm where the dead dwell

this doesn't mean that the entire Underworld is for the dead

the Underworld is the other side which has many realities

for instance...

Ásgard is seen as a upper world closely associated with the Christian heaven

a place of light where the ruler of the Gods dwells

but before Christian influences in archaeological terms the concept of the afterlife is quite different

there is a great chance that Valhalla wasn't in Ásgard but actually in the Underworld

but I'll explain that on another video

the existence of upper worlds, and middle ones, and others down below is a shamanic concept only a few have

or rather a shamanic concept quite modern

through shamanic experiences going to the other side seems that way, travelling up and down

and it's easier to explain those experiences if we try to give them a physical explanation

it makes sense to us because in our society greatly influenced by Christianity-

and other religious ideas-

the concept of heaven being above and hell below, is something very familiar to us

but in ancient societies, especially tribal ones

prehistoric and absolutely not influenced by the written word of religions with a hierarchical structure

the afterlife was quite different with many different realities

and if it was up or down or in the middle it mattered little

let's not forget that to the pre-christian Norse there was order and chaos

which isn't the same thing as good and evil

order and chaos must exist and together keep the cycle of life, death and rebirth running

Hel, the goddess, is most certainly in the group of Chaotic Gods

but she isn't evil... she just is

the is no good and evil in nature, there is just the natural order of things

nature is as beautiful as it is cruel

chaos creates life, death gives way to life

there is always a cycle

so Hel and the Underworld is dark and chaotic when it needs to be, as it needs to be

but also beautiful when it needs to be

nothing lasts forever, beauty doesn't last forever, nor ugliness

things are always changing,

and most likely to our ancestors the underworld was the reflection of nature

Alright friends, thank you so much for watching and I hope you have enjoyed this video

and I'm sorry in the beginning of the video that concept about caves,

that very boring concept, but I wanted you to understand that the prehistoric concept of a cave-

and linked to spiritual beliefs

gave birth to the concept we have of the Underworld, of being underneath the earth

and being a dark place

so I thought it was important, and well... I do have to make another video about this goddess - Hel

probably even two videos, because there's a lot I want to say

and perhaps on the next video I will talk about this goddess in my own perspective

and try to put aside the more scientific approach to this goddess

putting aside history and archeology and giving you a more personal perspective of this goddess

well, once again, I hope you have enjoyed this video, thank you so much for watching

and see you on the next one

tack för idag! (Thank you for today!)

How to Buy a Used Car for $300 (Runs and Drives) - Duration: 15:00.

Hey guys ChrisFix here and today, I'm going to show you how to buy a

$300 car, yes, that is right, you heard correctly under this car cover is a car I purchased for

$300. Sure it needs a little bit of work, but nothing we can't fix, and it runs and drives sorta...

I'm doing this video because I just hit 3 million subscribers, and this is the

300th video so it's a good fit

but instead of following other youtubers and buying a Porsche or

Lamborghini or Ferrari or something fancy like that you guys know what this channel is all about; it's all about affordability,

it's about working in your driveway at home and using common hand tools and soapy water to work on your car.

Also...

I get comments all the time when you guys watch the videos saying "the videos are great and after watching them you feel like

you could replace the wheel bearing or replace the brakes,

but you're still kind of nervous to try it out on your own car because it's your daily driver,

and if you break it you won't be able to get to school or to work"

so a $300 car is the perfect opportunity to learn, to experiment, to try stuff out because worst case scenario, if this breaks

completely... You do something and totally mess it up,

you can call a junkyard right now and get this towed off your property,

and they'll pay you around $250!

Or you can follow the Jaguar video and do a complete part out and make some money.

For all the younger viewers who are

always commenting "who watches his videos, but doesn't have a car" well, here's your opportunity save up

$300 you could get yourself a car to work on and to get ready for when you finally can drive so with that being said

Any last minute guesses on what this car is I asked you guys what you thought on Instagram?

And I got thousands of guesses in the comments, but only two people got it

Well the time has come to finally show you what I get and it is such a fun car

alright, the first step to buying a super cheap car is to find it and it's as easy as going online and searching all the

major used car websites

But instead of searching each individual website and inputting all your information over and over which could take forever

I have a little trick you guys taught me and that's using Auto Tempest all you have to do is input your information down here

Once and then it searches all the major used car websites make it really simple and easy now to find the cheap car you could?

Put in your make and model

I don't really know what I'm looking for so I'm not going to do that and then this is the key right here

Right where it says keywords you want to put in new to work and for price

I put 1500 or below, so let's search that is gonna be searching all these websites

So it might take a few seconds and check out all of these results

Now this one right here is something that stands out, so here's the perfect example

This is a Mustang it needs a new transmission

He says it grinds in third gear I bet you you could get this for around a thousand bucks

Transmission is like three hundred dollars at a junkyard you replace it yourself you spent thirteen hundred dollars

And you have like a three or four thousand dollar Mustang especially if you rap or paint it now another good example

Maybe needs work is too vague for you. Let's just say you're good at changing brakes actually

Let's search head gasket, so we can find a real cheap car now a car that I came across is this honda

Del sol i've always liked these since I was a little kid that rear window the way it goes down the top comes off its

Unique it's different. It's a nice little daily parts are cheap, and it's easy to work on it has 200,000 miles

It has some new parts of battery tie rods headlights

But it needs a control arm and head gasket both things that we could do now

He is asking a thousand dollars, but i'm pretty sure we could get this car for less

So thank you otto tempest for supporting the video and making it easy to find inexpensive used cars like this

So let's go check this car out since the car can't be driven home. I have to pick up a trailer

Just in case we get the car. I can use my truck to tow it home

I've never told a car before so this is gonna be an experience

The trailer is really cheap, and I have it for 24 hours and normally I would see the car first

But i'm fairly confident i'm gonna get this car and I think it's gonna be good to be like hey. I have a trailer

I'll tow it away right now. Here's my offer that way. We could get a low price and after a short drive

We are finally here and there she is

Alright, I'm actually pretty excited about this car because I've loved this car since I was a kid mostly because of that unique rear window

Design and the targa top. This is probably like one of three Honda's

I would actually own and keep in mind if this car checks out

I'm hoping to get it for less than $500 so it's gonna be far from perfect

But with that said I want to find something where if there's broken parts those parts are cheap and easy to fix

Hey, I can't believe it's really you

How's it going?

My name is Jensen by the way, and this is my 93 donnatella

so

Just give you a quick run-through run around about you know any problems that it has so currently the major issue is the blown head

gasket big problem a lot of smoke out the tailpipe the control arm it doesn t

Replacing here and there you're gonna hear a squeak or two

cool features about the car the top does come off the back window rolls down so it'll be a great for a summer car the

Back you got a dinner to you know a little bodywork here. Nothing pro like you can't handle really okay?

Can you pop the hood yeah man no problem?

Let me show you thanks and let's see what we got now at first glance. This doesn't look that great, but in reality

It's just some chipping off paint. Maybe a little bit of surface rust. It's really not that bad. Especially after we clean it

What we don't want to see is any major rust anything that goes into the frame. I don't see any of that

He said he has a new battery in there

That's good. Looking around looks like we have a new alternator down there at least a newer one right here

It says we had a timing belt changed at one hundred eighty-five thousand miles so twenty thousand miles ago new belt

And hopefully new water pump the motor mount here looks pretty new right where my hand is should be a power steering pump

But there isn't so that means that this is a non power steering car which is kind of cool

It's small enough, but overall this looks pretty good

Just needs a little bit of cleaning we need to replace that head gasket

And he did say he used that head gasket sealer in the radiator so we need a new radiator

But the best part about this car parts are so cheap brand new radiator forty bucks head gasket with head bolts and all the other

Gaskets he need 50 bucks. I did a bunch of research, and it makes sense

Why kids like to buy Honda's for the first car parts are cheap easy to find and he could customize easily?

Can you start her up?

One thing that's a crystal clear indicator that you have a head gasket

Leak is check out the radiator open the radiator cap when the engines cold and look at this you can see that smoke puffing out

That's a classic head gasket sign

Also if we take the oil cap off you can see underneath

It's frothy like it has a head gasket leak

And it doesn't look like we have any

blow-by

Which is good that means the Rings are still good after two hundred thousand miles am I able to take her for a quick spin

I know we can't drive it long, but just something like right around the block okay?

Now this is my first time driving a Honda and while that shifter feels horrible

I can't even tell if it's in gear I think that's first and

Look at the cloud of smoke coming out of the exhaust so this has to be done real quick

So it doesn't overheat, and I just need to get a feel for the car

and holy smokes no power steering takes a lot of muscle to turn the wheel but it does have a good turning radius since it's

Small and because it's small you should also get about 40 miles a gallon which is awesome

I'm able to ship through all the gears and the suspension feels firm and doesn't flow it around so it's a quick test drive

But we now know the suspension brakes and transmission are good which is important?

So now how hard is it to take the top down?

So what you want to do is reach your hand on there right here

See the little button right there push it towards the back of the car grab the lever as you're holding that button

push it outwards oh

Man, that is so easy look at that the top is off

How cool is that now? Can you show me how to roll down that rear window it comes down right yeah bottom right there?

And look at that this targa top is actually how the car got its name

Del Sol which in Spanish means of the Sun that is such a cool feature

They did a good job with that that is neat

It's also a good idea to check in the trunk, so we'll pop that open and see what we got in here now

We just want to make sure spares in here and sometimes

There's some good information left in the trunk

So this is all messed up

so we got our spare and also have a bunch of junk looks like there's an extra belt a bunch of garbage down here and

Check this out. This is actually useful

These are bushings says right in there made in Japan so I think these are Honda, om bushings, which are not only expensive bushings

But good bushing also looks like we have some ball joints. Oh, this is good. This is for the interior this piece was missing

That's actually helpful, and oh another piece from the interior that was missing beautiful

And then finally I just want to look back here behind here where the quarter panel is so that's definitely a good sign you could

See the welded body panel in here

So they must have cut out the rust welded in a new piece of metal and then finished it with bondo

And it just didn't do a great job with the bondo work, but there's no rust back behind this panel

Which is good, and this car is looking pretty good

So interior wise the car is in decent shape I'd say the weak spot is right here

This looks really bad with that cover missing

But that's actually not too bad because we found this inside the trunk so clean that up fit it in

Properly and that looks a lot better so the interior checks out the essentials all work

Just needs a little bit of cleaning and TLC in here

And I think we can get this interior to look real nice now with that being said we need a head gasket

The front suspension needs work the shifter is vague, and we need to do bodywork all inexpensive fixes

So what I'm thinking this car is worth is three to four hundred dollars

I'm gonna offer him three go up to 400 max the car itself in good condition

We could probably get $3,000 for especially since it's a stick shift, so that's my game plan

Let's go talk to Jensen and see what we could do okay, so I do like the car

It is pretty cool has that top on it. That's really neat it is kind of banged up

You can see that it definitely needs some suspension work in the front obviously the head gasket now

I think $1,000 is too much. I have to fix it up

I have to do some work to it what I'd like to offer you what I think the car is worth is

$300 and you know I got the trailer trailers ready to go in the back of my truck

I'll take it today ready to go 300 cash right now. Yeah, man. I completely understand

I know how hard of a work this is gonna be and for the three hundred dollars

I'll take him in yeah, you got yourself a deal all right sounds good, man. Thank you very much

Oh, we got ourselves a Dell so how cool is that? Okay? Let's go get this thing loaded up actually

Let's first go do some paperwork

Let's get the if you could get the title

Alright so with the title although titles will be different for each state this will give you a good idea what to look for right?

Here in New Jersey. This is where the lien holder would sign that means somebody else owns the car

It could be a bank could be the dealer could be another person there would be a stamp here and signatures

and there's nothing which means this car is owned outright by Jensen now you want to make sure that the owners information the person who's

Selling you the car is the owner so ask him for his driver's

License or an ID or something you can see that's his real name

Has all his information here, that's his driver's license number

I checked it with his driver's license and we're good to go

You also want to make sure that he's selling you the exact car so check the VIN number make sure it's the Honda

1993 all good, so that's the basics on checking a title varies from state to state

But this looks all good now. He could sign it over to me, and we could buy the car all right 300 bucks all yours

man, thank you very much I

Still can't believe it never in a million years

Did I think my next car would be a Honda so let's get this car on a trailer?

Good get the strap over the front tire and tighten it down, so it won't go anywhere do the same thing to the other side

Well, that's it dude. You'll see here on the videos

Hopefully so you'll be able to keep tabs on her, and yeah, I appreciate it man. Very nice meeting you

Well I'm almost home with no problems at all I was concerned my truck wouldn't tow this but it didn't even feel like I was

pulling a car and

Since it's dark. We'll unload the car tomorrow

It's morning and now to get the car off the trailer and

Into my driveway so we can look under the car now

I'm testing out this new jack, which will quickly and safely lift the whole car off the ground and this is pretty cool

and no matter how you lift up your vehicle you always want to give it a hard shake to make sure it feels solid and

It does so we're safe to go under the car and the whole car is lifted up nice and high so we could go inspect

Underneath so hopefully we go under here

And there's not a lot of rust at all looking over here at the transmission in the oil pan

I don't see any leaks which is good, but the first thing

I want to check out is the suspension on this side now at the test drive

I did see there's a lot of wear on the outside here

Which means that there's positive camber which is a suspension issue going under here?

Let's check out the suspension

positive camber could be caused by worn out ball joints or

bushings so to see what the problem is you want to grab a pry bar and

Just move the suspension around looking for play and just look at how much this moves now

That's enough play to cause that camera issue and lucky for us

this is basically a free fix we had the ball joints and the bushings in the trunk already and these are all brand new and

Look like high-quality parts

So I think this could be a really good video how to install

Bushings into control arms and also how to press in ball joints

Maybe we could even rebuild the entire front suspension

So now let's head to the middle of the car where the shifter is cost

I want to check the bushings and just as I thought besides being very rusty

There is a ton of play in here, and that's why this feels all loosey goosey when you go to shift

Just check out the bushings in here. They're shot, so hopefully fixing those will fix the vague shifter

I'll probably try to remove this and sand it and paint it as well to get all this rust out of here and one thing

That just caught my eye check this out. This isn't good check out all this rust here that right

There is the carpet so our floor board is rusted this actually doesn't look bad over here

This is all solid metal

So it looks like we'll just have to cut out this corner right here and weld in a piece of steel and that'll fix that

super simple and that's actually a really good video how to fix rusty floor pins and finally checking out the rest of the car the

Exhaust is a little rusty, but nothing bad. Just surface rust

I mean everything looks good the gas tank looks good the suspension looks good. I really can't complain

It's got drum brakes, but we could do a drum to disc conversion. I'm actually really excited

We got ourselves a good car for 300 bucks

So I really can't wait to get started

Fixing up this car and that is how a project car is born in this case an affordable one?

$300 now I couldn't wait. I got super excited so I went out to the parts store

And I already got everything we need so the car could be driven safely and reliably so to fix this car

It's gonna cost a total of a hundred and fifty dollars leaving us with a grand total of 450 bucks under

$500 for a good running car now. This is where I need my subscribers help

Yes, you guys

I need you comment below and let me know what you want to see done with this car do we want to do a wheeler-dealer

Style episode where I buy it
