Trek Slash Review - Duration: 7:28.

*if you watched my Trek Remedy review, you might think you already know how I feel about

Trek bikes But I wanted to compare the Remedy against

the Slash.

BOTH are Trek's 6" travel, Enduro/All-mountain bikes that are REALLY close in Geometry…

but the Slash has BIG wheels on it's side...

And Dang Gina!

This is a Monster truck of a bike!

29" in wheels to roll over just about anything When I say it was a monster truck… it pretty

much felt like a monster truck!… it wanted speed, and it begged me to pick bad lines…

or to NOT pick any lines at all!..

It just takes you for a ride!.... which could be a good or bad thing..

I definitely enjoy that feeling for what it is… with the bike doing all the work.. and

taking me for a ride…

I still prefer something a bit more nimble Where I feel like I'M THE ONE in control,

but have to work a little bit harder…

Now – if I was racing enduro… and all that mattered was the clock..

I could enjoy something like the slash ALL DAY.

But… with the huge wheels… long legs….

No matter how low the bottom bracket is (352mm height)… or how sagged in I got… there

was STILL kind of a feeling of riding *on top* of the bike.. instead of really inside

it… which kind of added to the experience of the bike doing all the work and taking

ME for a ride…

An aggressive 65.6 degree headtube angle felt just right for me… and if you want to party

even more, you can easily flip the mino link chips and get it down by half a degree…

But for climbing.. it can get down to business with a 74.1 degree seattube angle….

Which I was expecting it to feel about the same as the efficient Remedy… but..

I felt like… after getting over the initial acceleration, it climbed better than the Remedy.

Handling technical climbs just as well.

The reach on this 17.5" frame… measures at 431mm…

And The Chainstays measure at 433mm… which, are the SAME length as the 27.5 remedy…

which is nice!

It's still stable, but they kept 'em short enough, for a 29er, to give it SOME agility…

or at least as much as you can get out of a 6" travel 29er… haha

Now, Just like the Remedy, the Slash sports the super stiff front end with the Straight

shot downtube and knock block headset technology…Which IS noticeably stiffer… but I could go either

way on it...

It also has the Active Braking Pivot suspension design to keep your butt comfy through the

chunder… even while on the brakes!... which, I prefer to more conventional single pivot

designs, where Brake Jack is really noticeable…

But it DOESN'T have the Full Floater design… the bottom of the shock is fixed to the frame.

*now Trek says that they initially designed FULL FLOATER before all these new shocks came

out with more volume in the negative air chamber, to help them break off the top more smoothly

… so for their full Enduro 29er, they decided to utilize new amazing shocks and skip out

on full floater to create a beefier frame design for more stiffness in the rear…

*Now… this IS a $5500 bike.. and they only make carbon options… the other one is $4500…

WHEW!

If you want an alloy option 29er from Trek, You've gotta go with the Fuel Ex…

Going down to 130mm of travel…

Which I thought it was a great bike… but It would've been nice to see a BIG brand

offer more options, especially in their aggressive enduro 29er slash bike…

And Trek, being one of the big 3…

Trek, Specialized, and Giant… uses a lot of in-house bits to give better value…

BUT - I think in comparison, trek falls a bit short on value at the $5500 mark…

YES – everything is top notch… but at this price, with Specialized and Giant, you

get in-house carbon wheels… which is a MAJOR upgrade in my opinion…

Also…

You all know that I'm a shorty… with a 27" inseam…

I had problems with saddle height and seatpost insertion on the Trek Remedy because of their

kink…

So I sized down from 18.5 to 17.5 to see if I could fit a longer dropper post… but NO!..

The ACTUAL Seat angle on the slash (64.5) is slacker than on the remedy (67.7)!

Trying to keep the Same "EFFECTIVE" Seattube Angle at 74.1, just caused the Kink to be

MORE ABRUPT!

Again..

I'm stuck with a 125mm dropper MAX… and for a bike that's meant to be an enduro

race bike.. you would THINK that they would allow for really long dropper insertion…

and do something about that kinking kink!

And onto the dropper post itself… the Bontrager Dropline has really good intentions with the

shifter style remote lever…

But it got REALLY sticky on me and it wouldn't keep the seat down… which I've heard has

happened to multiple people with these same posts…

AND.. because the ACTUAL seattube angle AFTER the kink is REALLY slack (at 64.8 degrees)…

when you want to push the dropper down, you have to sit on it at just the right angle,

or else the post kinda binds up…

And as far as spec goes…with X1…

Sram is great for going!.. but NOT for stopping!

... I know this is a big heated argument… but sram guide brakes just aren't for me!....

And ….Maybe I'm just ruined for all other tires after sporting Maxxis Minions for a

year… but sheesh!

The Bontrager se4 tires were NOT my cup of tea… for my style of riding.. yes that's

an easy change.. and tires are all relative to the rider and terrain… but I would expect

a more aggressive tire spec on the Slash… if they HAVE to stick with Bontrager… maybe

they should spec the SE5 or G4…

*(WHICH ARE PRETTY MUCH JUST TRYING TO BE MINIONS!)

OK… despite that rant…

I actually really liked riding the Slash for a week!... it was a really efficient climber

for how dang well it went downhill… and it felt really balanced…

Now, Which one did I like better?

The Trek Remedy?

Or the Trek Slash?....

Well….

I NORMALLY lean towards 27.5 bikes….

But if I had to pick between the two right now, and I didn't have short leg problems…..

it would probably be the Slash… despite having the same amount of travel.. it felt

way more composed!

I didn't love it, or hate it….

But it's bike likes The Slash… that REALLY make me want to have a long travel 29er in

the bike stable to mix things up and have a blast!....

Thanks for watching my review of the Trek Slash… but I would Highly suggest trying

out the Slash for yourself and making your own opinions… now, in the meantime.. get

out there – Ride more!

And Crash Less!

This is how Javi Martínez & Juan Bernat learn German 🇩🇪 | Inside FC Bayern - Duration: 19:54.

German lessons are becoming ever more important at FC Bayern Munich.

It's a compulsory subject for foreign players at the club.

How do lessons work at Säbener Straße?

What do the players think of them?

We take a look at how the Bayern players

are swotting up on their German.

'sich beeilen' means to rush.

Hurry up.

Come on!

A normal day of training at Säbener Straße.

Spaniard Javi Martinez is talking shop with assistant coach Peter Hermann.

Colombian James Rodriguez is chatting with German Jerome Boateng.

Head coach Jupp Heynckes explains the next drills – of course in German.

FC Bayern is an internationally successful team.

A global club whose foreign players play their part in the success.

Players from around the world come to Munich to play for Bayern.

Jupp Heynckes has also worked abroad as a coach and had success

winning the Champions League with Real Madrid.

He knows that a common language is the foundation of any successful team.

"I know from experience that things get a lot easier when you can master the local language to some degree.

Communication is important for players and coaches.

It helps you integrate faster."

That's why German is the working language at the record German champions.

Not just on the pitch but also off it.

That's how the players get accustomed to the German language even quicker.

Team manager Kathleen Krüger has been with the first team since 2009

and organises everything to do with the team.

The 32-year-old of course speaks German with players, but not only that:

"Probably 90-95 per cent of all information we give out is in German.

We basically force the players to learn the language.

We deliberately don't give out travel plans, training schedules or content in English

because the first rule is to speak German.

The players recognise that it's necessary to learn German.

It's only to help their integration into the team and communication on the pitch.

The players understand that."

However, German is anything but easy to learn.

To assist the players, a teacher now comes to Säbener Straße

to work with the team.

That wasn't the case four years ago.

"Back then we worked with a language school in Munich,

but we needed greater flexibility.

Our schedule here meant it was vital we have a teacher who's available at any time."

The players have a full schedule.

Midweek fixtures, training, appointments with the physio, press conferences and numerous marketing events.

It's all part of the daily life of a professional footballer.

It means they need to find time for those important German lessons.

That means proximity is essential for the students.

"It's good to have Max here.

We can come to him straight after training and have a German lesson.

It's easier for us.

It's always great fun with Max, which is important.

Sometimes he's a bit peeved, talks loudly and we're afraid,

but that's okay."

Max is the German teacher for Javi & Co. – but he's by no means your typical teacher.

The 38-year-old was born in Stuttgart and studied literature and teaching German as a foreign language,

among other things.

He moved to Munich with his wife and ended up at a language school in the city.

"At some point I decided I didn't want to be at a normal school, so I chose this path

because it was simply more fun to work with people from other cultures

and speak other languages.

But it also brings those people closer to German culture and the language.

And with that attitude he has taken charge of language lessons for Bayern's players.

He hasn't just done that very well but has also done something different.

"I buy myself a watch.

That is our object."

"But I can also buy myself, right?

Like in FIFA."

"Yes, that works as well."

"I'll buy you, too."

Things worked out between Max, the players and the coaches.

The teacher received an offer from the German champions and could never turn it down.

Since then he's taken care of the Bayern players in need.

"What I liked from the start about Max was how professional he was

in this unique setting.

He was never overly excited to be working with these global stars.

That was striking for me.

It's not easy to find someone who's as good and professional in such circumstances.

That was the critical point.

I felt straight away that the players had great trust in Max."

Trust – the most important foundation.

Especially when you're working with footballers who're constantly in the spotlight.

Players who came to Germany to play football and win trophies.

For that reason, Max had to adapt his lessons straight away from those he gave at the language school or university.

"At the start I always try to be warm towards them, let them introduce themselves

and ask questions.

A really relaxed manner.

There's no grammar in the first lesson.

And it's always in their mother tongue – if I speak it.

Otherwise in English.

Then we slowly get into the material.

That starts with the classic 'I am. You are. He is',

how to introduce yourself, how to say, 'I'm good', how to ask 'How are you?',

then we move on to numbers, the alphabet, stress of German words and pronunciation.

Once we're over the initial hurdles, we move onto football vocabulary such as

'changing room', 'training pitch' and 'training ground'."

New signings moving to Germany for the first time immediately receive special assistance.

"I've created a list of football-specific vocabulary in Spanish, French and Portuguese

that the lads receive on their first day.

Then I say they should swot up with the permission of the coach and the team

so they can at least partially follow the team talks,

understand instructions in training or the match analysis as quickly as possible."

"Of course it's advantageous to be able to communicate with the team.

For example, when going through analysis of the opposition.

The players should be able to understand there what you're telling the team.

The players should be able to understand there what you're telling the team.

Javi Martinez can do that without his list.

The Spaniard has been in Munich since 2012 and played over 100 games for Bayern.

"He's been here the longest of all.

What he says isn't always in the right order,

but he speaks fluently, trusts himself, doesn't hesitate and does it all really well."

All starts are tough, though.

Javi arrived in Munich in August 2012 – and it was his first contact with German.

"It's completely different. So many new words and a new grammar.

You have to learn a lot of new words,

which is the hardest part."

He quickly learnt the most important words that a player needs to know on the pitch.

Even if there were a few irritations at the start."

„Leo.

"I thought 'leo' was a name.

After five or six days I asked what 'leo' meant

and found out it meant 'leave the ball'."

Since then he's added plenty of other football vocabulary to his repertoire.

His favourite word is of course:

"Tor' (goal).

I don't know… They're all important.

In my position it's 'leo', 'Zeit' (time), 'Hintermann' (man on) or 'lass den Ball' (leave the ball)."

The Spaniard now speaks fluent German.

He can't just converse in German out on the pitch but even dreams in German.

"My wife says I speak German in my sleep.

Better than I am right now."

"So does your wife get scared when you speak German in your sleep?"

"She gets scared because German sounds aggressive."

Javi is now at home at Bayern and in Germany.

The 29-year-old speaks without hesitation and continues to learn.

Max tries to spend two or three hours with each player every week.

Not an easy task.

The German teacher also has to continually find new ways

to pique the players' interest.

"They're aware that their surroundings make things different.

If I stood there and taught like at university

then they'd flip me the bird within two weeks."

Sometimes two players come together for lessons in the small classroom.

No problem, even if Juan started German lessons well after Javi.

"Before we start, what is the question word for time?

'Wann' (when).

When are you tired?"

"Always."

"How do I answer?

Juan, could you answer please? When are you tired?"

"I am tired when I have trained."

"Who wants to start?

Roll the dice.

What have you got?

A one.

And you?

A four.

'Sich ärgern' (to get angry).

Juan will ask the question and you answer."

"When do you get angry?"

"I get angry when I see Juan's face early in the morning."

"Very funny."

"'Sich beeilen' (to rush).

Hurry up. Come on!

Why are you rushing?"

"Explain to him what 'beeilen' means.

Not in Spanish. In German."

"When you do something quickly."

"Or have to do it.

So what's the question again?"

"Why are you rushing?"

"I never rush because I always stay calm."

"That was a mistake, right?

No, he has a list to learn and hasn't learnt it.

So that's a mistake."

"You ask.

Concentrate.

What's the preposition?"

"What are you scared of?"

"I am scared of it."

"Come on!"

"What is 'fürchten'?"

"Have either of you learnt the list?

Have you learnt the list?"

"No."

"No."

"We had the weekend off."

"What are you scared of?"

"I am a bit scared of…" "See.

What are we doing here?"

"Are you scared of getting injured again?"

"I am scared of being injured again."

"I have a chance, right?"

"A chance.

You need at least five."

"Yes, five!"

"What's this game called?"

"Reflexive Max."

In the next episode of "German lessons at Bayern Munich":

"Wow, wait, wait, wait."

"What is he?

What's his job?"

"Army."

"And in German? It's also correct in German."

"Unbelievable!"

"I thought it was in.

What should we do then?"

"We could have a coffee."

"Or a beer?"

"No, coffee."

"It's eight o'clock...

So, welcome."

"'Welcome'

– the first words I heard when I arrived in Munich."

Greek lesson: How to use the adjective ''μόνος, μόνη, μόνο''! - Duration: 6:02.

Hello and welcome! This is the second Greek lesson which is longer in duration.

After this lesson, I will again ask the type of lessons you prefer and the one with the highest percentage will win.

So I will continue with this. Here at The Online Greek Tutor we want to help you learn Greek.

This is our mission and we hope to succeed.

So let's go to our lesson. Our student Arpine sent us a question. How do we use the words "μόνος, μόνη, μόνο" in Greek.

So, I decided to make a lesson explaining how to use this adjective.

It is generally a very useful adjective and you can use it in many cases in Greek.

The adjective "μόνος" has three different uses. Let's give an example.

We can say "έμεινε μόνος στη ζωή".

What does this mean; It means he has no one with him. He is alone. He has no people around him.

When someone says this expression usually means that one's wife has died or all of his relatives have left him.

You can also use it in other cases. You may say, ''μου αρέσει να είμαι μόνος το πρωί.

Δεν θέλω να μου μιλάει κανείς"

Also, a woman who did not get married and thinks this is the best choice can say

"Όταν είσαι μόνη, μπορείς να κάνεις ό, τι θέλεις. Κανείς δεν σου λέει τίποτα. Οι παντρεμένοι πρέπει συνεχώς να κάνουν υποχωρήσεις "

The particular adjective when used with the article has a different meaning.

Let's give an example, we say ''ο Κώστας ήταν ο μόνος που έτρεξε να βοηθήσει"

What does this mean; Well, that means no one but Kostas went to help. He is the only one who did it.

Very useful and this use of this adjective.

Other examples are, "το μόνο του όνειρο είναι να δει τον γιο του να σπουδάζει γιατρός"

or "η μόνη μου επιθυμία είναι να γίνω πατέρας".

Therefore, this adjective when used with the article is synonymous with the ''μοναδικός''

The third use of this adjective is with personal pronoun. We say "μόνος μου, μόνη σου etc".

Actually, here the word is no longer an adjective but a pronoun.

You can say ''πρέπει να βρεις τη λύση μόνος σου" or "το έκανε αυτό από μόνος του".

Here it means he did it without the help of anyone. Other examples are "θα πάω μόνος μου στη συνέντευξη.

Δεν έχω ανάγκη τη βοήθεια κανενός"

Remember that you can use this pronoun in all genders

"μόνος, μόνη, μόνο" along with all the personal pronouns "μου, σου, του, μας, σας, τους".

Also, it is good to know the opposite of pronoun which is "με παρέα" or "μαζί με κάποιον άλλον"

For example, you can say ''δεν το έκανα μόνος μου αυτό. Το έκανα μαζί με τον Νίκο ή παρέα με τον Νίκο "

Finally, it is very important that you do not confuse the adjective "μόνος" with the "μονός".

When we say ''μονος'' we mean the one consisting of only one element as opposed to the "διπλός, τριπλός" etc consisting of more than one element.

An example of using the one is the bed. We say "μονό κρεβάτι" as opposed to the "διπλό κραβάτι''.

Also, numbers 1,3,5 are called ''μονοί αριθμοί'' while numbers 2,4,6 are called ''ζυγοί αριθμοί''.

That's all for today, I hope I have answered Arpine's question.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us.

You will get an answer with a video lesson shortly. Now watch the next lesson that appears on your screen.

Thank you very much. Bye!

US 1 cent coins you can find in change - Duration: 6:16.

hello people are you going mrs. Glennon today I've got this American one st.

coins I have the various issues that we issued the smaller one cent coins and

these are the major four designs that you can actually get so hello my name is

Glenn and today I am gonna show you some American coinage now actually I don't

really collect that many American coins maybe because I just haven't got around

to it because there is a lot of our coins to actually collect like this

Austrian 20 quarter eighteen thirties but anyway we'll talk

about these coins now we have the four different issues that you could

potentially find in circulation in the United States because they are the same

size and shape and base metal so we have the earlier ones which are bronze so

these are bronze pure bronze this one was bronze at first but changed to

copper-plated zinc Oh pink yeah in 1982 and this one is also called plated think

so we have the Indian Head Penny

this was issued in 1859 first in copper nickel and then in 1864 so just near the

end of the American Civil War it was changed to bronze and this comb is

issued in bronze is called the white penny because it actually has a wheat

stalks here days to a Lincoln cents so disarmament issued from 1909 in 1958 the

Lincoln Memorial which is here so this is the Memorial in Washington DC and I

had Lincoln in oh it's been a bit damaged and Lincoln

is on the other side but I'll show you that later this also has the same

portrait of Lincoln this is the shield penny this one was issued between 1959

in 2008 and this one's been issued between 2010 and not to current actually

and in between they actually issued commemorative coins in 2010 and here is

one okay just commemorates the I think the

200th year o ibraheem Lincoln's birth and this is his home that he was born in

don't worry about that someone else has actually made a nice video about those

commemorative coins so if you look for

yeah Lincoln Committee cents on YouTube here we are to find it so on the obverse

of these coins as you can see these ones have Abraham Lincoln and he was on there

since 1909 so this is a 1957 day for Denver 1 in 68 Day 2011 day and the

actual portrait of Abraham Lincoln so this is pretty pretty thick it actually

stands out quite a lot from the flan itself or the planter whichever word you

want to use and this one is pretty flat you can tell from his face and the chin

it is pretty flat and this one has a Native American Indian with a vivid

headpiece and this is one of the best US coins I believe that I like there I have

actually seen yeah one is the Buffalo which is uh this coin I'll do another

video on it it's also a Native American Indian yes I if you got the United

States you have potentially you can actually find these

old coins in circulation II and there are a lot of youtubers from the United

States and I make videos exclusively on US coins so as I'm not knowledgeable on

US coins you should actually ask them yeah but in 1907 a year after this the

mintage actually reached a hundred million coins and currently these coins

here generally have a mintage of at least two to three billion so there's

quite a lot of coins and these coins would not be rare

but added these coins which ones do I like so not the Abraham Lincoln on the

side is okay but I actually like the Indian cent and or the reverse side I

actually like the shield a lot better cuz it's just very well designed this

week penny and I don't like it that much and but I actually don't like the

Lincoln Memorial so there is a American one zinc coins

you could potentially find in circulation so if you're in the United

States and you actually spend money because me myself I really spend money

these days even I'll collect coins I mainly use

card just go through your coins and see what you I can actually get and you'll

be lucky you might be able to find something it's worth more than face

value actually 'days bronze coins are worth more face to face you know

interesting metal but there are rare coins can actually against so thank you

very much for watching and have an awesome coin collecting day

The Wind and the Sun : Learn French with subtitles - Story for Children & Adults "BookBox.com" - Duration: 6:10.

The Wind and the Sun

A Santali folktale

One afternoon,

the Wind and the Sun

were having an argument

about who was stronger.

"I've uprooted huge trees

and drowned millions of ships.

You can't do either of those things,"

said the Wind proudly.

The Sun smiled and shrugged.

"That doesn't mean

you're more powerful," he said.

"I can cover you with clouds

so that no one can see you!

You can't do that to me,"

said the Wind.

But the Sun just smiled warmly.

"I still think

I'm stronger than you,"

he said calmly.

The Wind began to grumble.

He didn't like the idea

of the Sun being stronger than him.

"Why don't we have a test?"

the Wind finally suggested.

He whipped around,

looking for something

to show off his strength.

"Shall we see who can knock down

the most number of houses?"

he asked.

"Let's keep it simple.

See that man over there?"

asked the Sun.

The Wind looked down

and saw a man

walking down a road.

He was whistling happily to himself

and had a shawl

thrown across his shoulders.

"Shall we see who can force him

off the road first?" the Wind asked.

"No, that will only hurt him,"

the Sun replied.

"Let's just see

who can take his shawl off."

The Wind shrugged

and whipped around the sky.

He huffed and puffed

and made the leaves

in the trees shiver.

The man frowned at the sky

and wrapped his shawl

tightly around himself.

Thunderclouds appeared in the sky.

Thunderclouds appeared in the sky.

Animals began running for shelter

Animals began running for shelter

and the Wind began to roar.

The man wrapped his shawl

even tighter.

Soon

the thunderclouds drifted away.

The Wind had blown himself out.

"I give up. I can't do it,"

panted the Wind.

He curled up on top of a cloud

to catch his breath.

"Now it's my turn," said the Sun.

He yawned lazily

and stretched his rays.

He seemed to grow

brighter and bigger in the sky.

brighter and bigger in the sky.

Soon it was as hot

as a summer day.

The man looked up at the sky

and wiped the sweat off his forehead.

and wiped the sweat off his forehead.

"What strange weather

we're having today!"

he said to himself.

Then he took his shawl off

and tucked it under his arm.

"Looks like you win,"

the Wind agreed cheerfully.

He clapped his hands

and made the leaves on the trees rustle.

and made the leaves on the trees rustle.

"You don't have to knock a man down

to take his shawl off,"

said the Sun with a teasing smile.

They laughed together

and watched the man

walking down the road

again whistling happily to himself.

Thank you all for having me here!

I have been sharing knowledge of Chakras with people for years

Does any of you know what are Chakras?

You will be thinking 'What is she talking about?'

I am talking about YOU

Today I know all of us are going through some issues

And you know your disease is frightening you

It's making you anxious

Because they say 'Cancer means Death Knell'

We all want to live. Yes or no?

So...

We have to understand why we have been diagnosed with cancer

We have to understand why it has happened to us and what we can learn from it

It is not our bad karma

That's why they say the human birth is for self-realization
