A lovely archeo-open-air museum, not far from Liberec.
Well, we went here just for four several seconds long takes.
As you can see in the background, anyway.

the Curia guys contacted me to ask me to create
a crowdfunding video.

I made them a video for free
in order for us to be able to make our video there for free,
which is actually a Blavicon ad I made for free.
I'm beginning to have a teeny weeny suspicion
that there's something wrong with my business plan for this year.
No, but seriously.
Apart from this short Gwent stuff, they'll lend Curia to us
for an entire weekend next time.
Well, and these pictures made by someone who can actually do it
will be worth it.
During this shoot, I made just this one usable take
of Švéd putting down a card.
Oh, and we also shot the fake introduction
with Jarda from Gwint Klub (capital G and capital K).
It's an accurate depiction of our conversation.

This location is something of a Wilhelm scream in our videos.
We use it every time.
Almost.

You can clearly see the incidence of the glow
generated by the spell.
Too bad I didn't use any of that.

Ey, what's up, Martin Matějka here,
and welcome to a very exciting showreel of
VIDEOCOPILOT.NET plugins and tutorials.
Sorry, I had to.
Here's a light breakdown of Geralt's Igni.
The Particular plugin did the sparkles.
I used Saber for the Sign,
and the flying cards were done using Element 3D.
Vojta's Sign doesn't look so cool now, huh?
Ciri's effect is far too complicated for a quick breakdown.
However, I would emphasize the preparation of shooting.
To go shooting thinking you'll figure it out on the spot is very naive,
and wrong setting can potentially create an insane amount of extra work.
At the least, you're looking at many hours doing masks and rotoscoping.
Even though, there will be situations After Effects will not get you out of 100%.
The Blavicon logo.
I made the clouds and yellow dots using Particular.
The logo itself was done using Element 3D.
I created the model as someone who may had heard about Blender before,
but had never actually seen it in action.
I made the 3D logo directly in After Effects.
I threw the original image straight to the composition,
went to Layer -> Auto-trace
and had the logo made into a mask.
Then I needed to unite it
to create individual elements:
the handle, rivets, blade, etc.
Because of different textures.
Then I loaded the maps to Element, added the textures,
divided them into a group with the inscripted chopping board and the cleaver,
and then I animated it.
Well, I could go on like this.
There are loads of effects in the video.
And the previously mentioned ones are just the most distinct ones.
For example, I had to fix a situation where the crowd dispersed,
and two lights shone at Ciri and Zoltan at once,
making them light up like supernovas. I had to deal with this somehow.
So I masked them both out
and darkened the burnt out part and matched it with the rest colour-wise.
And then there was a lot of other stuff to do.
Simply put, we really didn't make this in that one day.
Since there's mostly me talking in this video, I'd like to emphasize
a very important thing in the end.
The fact that without all the people involved in this,
none of this would have ever happened.
