And i'm glad to welcome you on my channel
And today our guest is VGOD Pro Mech 2 Kit - it's a kit of mechanical mod and RDA from the famous company of trickers VGOD
All of this was sent me from AtomVapes.com, for that I'm very grateful
Okay, this RDA is for dual coils with Druga-style posts and with very deep juice well. It is screwed on mechanical mod that is made of copper and have interesting button switch
So called TriCon Switch
And we're about to find out how this thing works in close up. Let's dive down
Okay, friends, let's unbox this wonderful package.
Yes, VGOD holds their style, this package is huge
In here we have a VGOD logo and the name of device itself
This side have a picture of the kit
On this side we have a specs and kit contents. Also it says that it was designed in USA and made in China
Important measures, specs and other stuff
Let's remove the sleeve and we're getting access to the package
And inside this package we have a case which is also branded with VGOD logo
We've seen cases like this before in basically every VGOD products they've done
It's very nice case and it's comfortable to use it separately
For example in case like this i store my drip tips and chuff caps
So under this cover we are welcomed by the kit contents and devices themselves
We have a User Manual in English, a phillips head screwdriver, bag of spares which includes o-rings and another spring for button
Another bag of spares for RDA with spare o-rings and pre-made coils which we are going to use today
Of course the mechanical mod and Elite RDA
As i said before you can use this case separately. It have different pockets and rubber bands, so you can carry anything you want
So, it might be said, another device in a kit
Okay, we're done with kit contents, now it's time to talk about specs
Let's start with mechanical mod. This mod is made out of copper, it's available only in black color and its powder coated
Also on the tube it have 2 delrin sleeves. Main diameter of the tube is 22mm and 24mm with a sleeves
This mod is powered by 1*18650. In this mech is implemented button with unique contact group, so called TriCon Switch system. In the same time it is classic direct contact - it have 3 dots of contact with the battery
Also this mod have blank fire protection and auto-adjustment feature. But this mech is lacking vent holes
And now the RDA. This RDA is made of Stainless steel and available only in black color as well. It have threaded chuff cap, non-adjustable bottom airflow and is only for dual coils in Druga-style posts
The diameter of this RDA is 24mm, the juice well is 8.3mm deep
Okay, we're done with specs and now it's time to talk about the devices themselves and we start with RDA
On the top of this RDA we have a delrin chuff cap. It's not universal chuff cap, it is screwed by the thread into the metal part of RDA and it can be unscrewed counter clockwise
It is sort of cone/spherical shaped machining inside of this chuff cap. And your are unable to install any custom chuff caps neither the 810 drip tips in here
As you can see, this thread is oppose it which is both on chuff cap and on the barrel
Next part is the barrel. It have a key and a logo. Those keys is made to prevent spinning while you screw down or unscrew this RDA
This system was already used in Elite RDTA
This barrel can be removed like so and it's held on by 2 o-rings
Under that barrel we see a deck. On that side we have engraving VGOD and on both sides we have airflow slots. I think you noticed that it's non-adjustable neither on the outside nor inside.
Inside we have 2 airflow slots and pretty deep juice well - it's 8.3mm
And like i said before this deck have Druga-style posts. To be exact coil installation is Druga-style
Here's two screws that screwing down directly on posts, and if we will spin it counter clockwise we will get access to the coil holes
I will repeat - the holes isn't big and the posts themselves is pretty thin
You can completely remove this nut, which is gold-plated by the way, and by doing so we can get access to the fully open coil holes
Friends, we won't be giving much of attention to this RDA since it's looks kinda classic and not very versatile
So let's move on and talk about mechanical mod
Yes, this RDA have standard 510 connector and nice protruding pin. And on the bottom we have a bunch of "tattoos"
And the deck itself is painted or coated with something to hide signs of CNC machining. It's cool
Okay, now we're done with RDA for sure, so let's talk about mechanical mod
And as always we are starting from the top, where we have a standard hybrid 510 connector, and you can tell by the threads that this mod is made of copper
Going lower we have a delrin sleeve that is increasing diameter of this mod up to 24mm
This sleeve is removable and is held by a single o-ring which sits on the tube
And as soon as you remove this sleeve the diameter of this mod becoming a 22mm
So now you can easily screw down 22mm RDA and be happy with this appearance
Or you can use 24mm RDAs and still have a nice appearance due to this sleeve
Yes, i can't deny, this sleeves feature is very versatile solution. Of course you can get rid of this o-ring if you will use 22mm RDAs. But let's move on
Lower we have a metal part of this mechanical mod which have engraving of VGOD logo on both sides
And below this metal part we have another delrin sleeve which is held by a button
On the bottom of a button guys as always has used a carbon fiber and the button itself is fully made out of copper
The button unscrews counter clockwise and like i said it hold a sleeve
So the mech mod without a sleeves will look like so
And here it is with 22mm RDA. It looks kinda meh, but it's usable and, as it said, on taste and color all pencils are different
Okay, it's time to look inside. I can say right away - i have no complaints regarding the threading. Threads are buttery smooth
If we look inside of this mechanical mod we will see the Blank fire protection also known as fool-proof protection, and a copper with a little of patina
Okay, friends, it's time to talk about the button. In here we can see an interesting and, in some way, unique design
First thing we see is auto-adjusting feature which will auto-adjust to your battery height and atomizer pin length
Next we see a 3 pins, that will make a contact with a battery and 3 holes, which apparently should've been vent holes, but on the outer side we have no vent holes whatsoever
And nicely polished silver-plated or metal screw which is holding all this parts together
To get inside we need to unscrew it
Now very carefully remove the button housing and we're getting access to a spring
The spring is removing like so. But pay attention - as you can see all the insides are covered in some sort of oil. And by the way - it have pretty bad scent
The contact group is look like so. Those pins is in free floating, i would say
So they are just sitting in their grooves. All these pins are free, so you can just remove it, clean and put it back in their grooves
I can't tell how much they affecting the performance of this mechanical mod
As well i can't tell how conductive they are. But I have a few critique notes on how this mechanical mod works. We're going to talk about them when we get back to face-time
Let's assemble it in reverse order. For a start place the pins in the grooves, then put the spring back, correct the pins so they would fit evenly and now put the button housing back on, matching it holes with the pins
Yes, i didn't show you how the button housing look inside. I will repeat myself - there is some grease and it have bad scent
Return everything in place and screw down this central screw
And as result we got fully functional button. By the way - central screw is not participating in contact
It just holds upper and lower parts together
Okay, friends, this is how it looks disassembled. Now it's time to prepare our RDA to work. And for a start we will use the pre-made kit coils
I won't be showing you how i install the coils in Druga-style posts, i don't see any point of doing it again once me so i will do it backstage
I will strongly recommend to launch kit RDA either on some regulated box mod or coil rebuilding station, but not on mechanical mod
Then you will exclude the possibility of short circuit for sure
Okay, folks, it's all done. Coils installed and glowed, cotton is there and saturated, and this RDA is working
Final resistance is 0.18Ω and i think it's way too high for a mechanical mod. But let's try anyway
Let's put on the barrel, screw down the chuff cap and unscrew the RDA off the box mod
Now let's assemble the mechanical mod. It doesn't matter where and which sleeve you will fit - they are identical. Screw this RDA to a mech
And now it's time to insert the battery. We will install it positive side up, because negative side have a wider spot of contact - the button itself hints at it
Though it will work both with positive and negative side, but since there is no vent holes, kinda, we will insert the battery positive side up
This is the battery that i used with this mechanical mod - take a notice on negative contact - it have several little black dots(aka arcs) and they accommodated on a circle of negative contact
Due to this switch has 3 contacts it will produce 3 times more arcs. You should be aware of it and take care both of the battery contact and the contact group of mechanical mod
Okay, insert the battery positive side up, next screw the button. It will fixate the sleeve and auto-adjustment to the battery height and atomizer pin length will happen
And now it's time to fire it and get the vapor
Friends, i think that's enough. It's time to get back to face-time
This RDA leaked on meeee~
And it's time to test it
Know what? Never flip over the fully filled RDA, even with bottom airflow because it will leak for sure as you saw in close up
All right, it's time to vape it
Okay folks, 0.18Ω is way to high for a mechanical mod. I wish that kit coils were at least 0.1Ω, but i guess VGOD decided not to risk
Anyway, let's talk about pros and cons of these 2 devices and we will begin with mechanical mod
First con to this mechanical mod i'll give for a grease. Not for the fact it's here, but for a bad scent of it
I mean, you take this mechanical mod in your hands, you vape it and you smell machine oil. It's a feeling like you've just took it from production line
On one hand - grease is good, it decrease parts friction so button pressed softly and metal will not wear off
On the other hand, VGOD, come on, it's a grease and it's smell badly. It's unpleasant to vape delicious grape and inhale that scent of machine oil
It's so-so and that's why i give it a con
Next con to this mechanical mod i'll give for the fact it produces 3 times more arcs on battery contacts
Yes, this is classic direct contact. Yes, classic direct contact leaves arcs on both battery contacts and the contact group itself
You should know that and take care of it. So it's a classic con for arcs. But in here it's three times more
There is some nuance, and, I guess, I state it as a con - sometimes when I press the button - button starts to heat up
Apparently it happens because at a certain press one of the pins inside the button is not giving a solid contact, which is causing heating of the button. And it is noticeable
I'll repeat - it's not happens all the time, only at certain press, for example if you press it to the side and one of the pins is giving bad connection
But again, for the possibility of heating of the button i'll give it a con
And last con i'll give for lack of vent holes. Vent holes is kind of there, but on the outside they kinda isn't. So in case of emergency, venting will be difficult in this mechanical mod
it's time to talk about pros of this mechanical mod and then we will speak of RDA
First pro to this mechanical mod i'll give for production quality. Everything made well, battery is not rattling, sleeves sits firmly, everything screws smoothly. Great
So i'll give a pro for a production quality
Next pro i'll give for versatility in terms of fitting different diameters. As i said you can use both 22 and 24mm RDAs. And it's good
Due to this plastic sleeves this mod have a great grip - you sort of feel it. It sits firmly in your hands, it's not slipping away when you press the button. So i'll give a pro for comfort of use
Next pro i'll give for auto-adjustment to the battery height and atomizer pin length feature
Of course a pro for blank fire protection
I'll give a pro for interesting appearance and for performance. But not with 0.18Ω build
Let's say with 0.1Ω this mod performs like so. And i can tell the performance of this mod is good
It's time to talk about RDA. Cons for a start
First con to this RDA i'll give for lack of versatility in terms of drip tips and chuff caps. It's impossible to use your favorite drips tips and chuff caps so it's a con
Next con i'll give for tiny holes in posts. There's lot of space between those posts and you want to throw there some coil porn, but you simply can't put some heavy build in there, stapled fused clapton for example.
Yes, standard fused clapton will fit, though i want those holes were wider
And last con. VGOD, come on, where is the squonk? Yes, it's clear that it is kit RDA and it's made for mechanical mod
But by not adding BF option you simply strict your RDA to be used only on box mods or mech mods, though you could've made this BF pin
Moving forward, let's talk about nitpicks. Those thin posts walls looks very flimsy and unreliable. And I'm constantly afraid that this posts will bend
I wish to see them more massive and self-confident
And last nitpick goes for non-adjustable airflow. Some people might dislike it. I'm totally fine with it
By the way i'm still considering Elite RDTA by VGOD one of the best RDTAs on the market, though it also have non-adjustable airflow but i'm okay with that. I like the amount of air in this RDA
And now let's talk about pros
A pro goes for good production quality, for familiar wicking and coils installation, and for large capacity. Capacity of this RDA is impressive - the juice well is really deep and it's a pro as well
Friends, don't forget that bottom airflow will always have condensations and stuff, so you have to be prepared for it
Okay, let's talk about price and vape a bit
Okay, the price for this kit on atomvapes.com is 94.99$. So it's 95$ for a kit of RDA and mechanical mod
Let's try to separate it and calculate how much it will cost you that way - RDA costs 30$, mechanical mod costs 50$ and case costs 10$
I can say it's a great price for a kit you get
Okay folks, let's summarize
Overall i liked this kit, but there is several nuances you should know about before purchase of this mechanical mod and RDA kit
Yes, there is a great things like price and quality, but there is not so great things like arcs and lack of versatility
Overall this kit is worth its money, but you should know what you're buying
I will finalize at this moment
