Today I'm gonna show you a quick recipe
for quick cake with equally quick green tea.
It's powdered Japanese green tea matcha
which has its wide use in various types of cooking and baking.
Sweets with matcha such as puddings, ice cream and cakes are very popular in Japan
We often think it's difficult to make or the recipe is complicated and don't want to bake it.
while today I'd like to show you how to make the cake in a few minutes.
It's not really my idea cause mug cakes made in a microwave are more and more popular
You can find hundreds of recipes online
and we'd like to show you our idea for green matcha cake
with coconut flavor cause it's worth improving and modifying such recipes.
We're going to use a few coconut ingredients,
It's a nice idea that you can use not only at work or simply at home
cause you can actually make this cake faster than tea itself.
It will also work great during Easter when we're all so tired
and so rushed that we have no time to make a cake for ourselves.
You might have some guests and you'd like to make a quick spring green Easter cake.
Generally there are thousands of ways and occasions for that
and Matcha Muffin is highly recommended for each of those.
Have a look at what we have here.
First of all, we need some flour. It can be any type of flour
but we're gonna use coconut here. What's more, coconut milk
to stay with the coconut mood, and some fat which is coconut oil.
That's how much coconut is going to be used in our Matcha Muffin.
Next we will obviously need some green tea matcha,
some sugar or alternative sweetener - whatever you like
some baking powder, an egg and some white chocolate.
The last one is actually our idea to make it a bit more interesting and less dry.
The recipe is extremely simple. Firstly, we're gonna mix wet ingredients, then add in the wet ones,
and place the whole thing in the microwave for maximum power for a minute or two,
depending how strong is your device. Take 4 tbsp of flour, a tbsp of sugar, or even less,
1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp matcha, next 1 egg,
1 tbsp of any fat, in our case it's coconut oil and 4 tbsp coconut milk.
We're going to make tea and also tea cake at the same time.
Place it in, pour it over, time start and... let's cook it up.
The cake is mixed up, now let's go and place it in the microwave.
The tea is still steeping, and everything is going to be ready in a while.
You can add more chocolate or just sprinkle it on top, it's up to you.
It will melt down and if it's on top, it's going to make a shell
while if it's placed in the cake it will create these spaces of soft chocolate inside the cake.
So you need to decide which way you will enjoy the most.
The muffin is done, the tea is done, so now we're gonna pour it down
and we can spend a while only with ourselves,
with one-person delightful muffin and tea
I think it's a great occasion to have a little rest but also to surprise unexpected guests.
Just look at this. There's some chocolate that melted beautifully,
it's a raised and nicely baked muffin,
It's just delightful! Really.
It's not because I'm a gourmand who could binge on cakes all day
but it's because I can clearly taste matcha in here, it's nice and sweet.

Trump says could 'hold up' South Korea trade deal for North Korea issue - Duration: 2:12.
U.S. President Donald Trump might be planning to put a hold on the recent changes to America's
FTA with South Korea.
He says he would use it as a card in his negotiations with North Korea.
As our Lee Seung-jae reports, it's not obvious what the U.S. would stand to gain from that.
Before the ink has even dried on the newly amended South Korea-U.S FTA,...
President Trump said he may 'hold up' the trade deal in order to use the deal as leverage
in any upcoming negotiations with North Korea and their nuclear program.
Calling it a 'strong card',... Trump made it clear how he wants to use the trade deal.
"Just this week we secured a wonderful deal with South Korea.
(cut) And I may hold it up till after a deal is made with North Korea.
Does everybody understand that?
You know why, right?
You know why?
Because it's a very strong card and I want to make sure everyone is treated fairly and
we're moving along very nicely with North Korea we'll see what happens."
Observers say it's unclear how holding up the trade deal with South Korea, one of America's
closest allies, could help the U.S. in dealing with North Korea.
This comes as U.S. diplomats have emphasized that any meeting between Trump and Kim Jong-un
would simply be a meeting,... and not a formal negotiation on the North's nuclear weapons
program.
Meanwhile... the South Korean government on Thursday demanded the U.S. correct a recent
statement on the U.S. Trade Representative website, stating that the U.S. Treasury Department
is leading discussions on currency with South Korea's finance ministry.
Adding to the dispute was a fact sheet issued by the U.S. Trade Representative on Wednesday,...
stating that 'a memorandum of understanding is being finalized on robust provisions to
prohibit competitive devaluation and exchange rate manipulation.'
According to Seoul's Ministry of Strategy and Finance,... the exchange rate issue is
entirely unrelated to the FTA, as such an agreement would likely deal a heavy blow to
South Korea as it's such an export-dependent economy.

Basic self care strategies - Duration: 6:48.
Today, I want to share with you six basic self-care strategies that you can use
when you want to feel more balanced and composed and less stressed and overwhelmed.
Hi, welcome back, nice to have you here!
In case we haven't met yet: welcome!
I'm Thea and this channel is all about style, confidence and embracing your life.
I promised you a video about my "personal power plants"
- the things that I do to recharge my batteries
and to take care for myself and for my spiritual, mental and physical well-being.
But I realized that one video would be way too long, so I split it in two parts
and this is the first part where I want to share my basic self-care strategies with you.
In the next part I want to go deeper in my personal self care routines.
So let's dive right into today's topic and let me tell you about the six self-care strategies
that you can use to feel more balanced and composed.
Point number one is your nutrition and your food.
Always eat your vegetables and fruits like your mama told you ;-) - but it's not only that.
I for myself try to eat lots of vegetables, a little bit of fruit and also lots of protein.
I found out when I eat protein I feel better.
I'm not getting hungry as soon as when I just eat carbohydrates,
I feel more satisfied for a longer time - so it really works for me.
But you should go and find out for yourself which kind of foods work for you.
I for myself also try to avoid processed food as much as possible -
I like it to cook fresh and to eat fresh food.
Of course, sometimes I also crave fast food or sweets,
but I try to let it be an exception and as long as it is just an exception, it's okay for me.
And as we are talking about nutrition -
I also want to remind you to keep an eye on your vitamin intake and your mineral intake.
I told you that I suffered from a burnout and from depression several years ago
and later on my doctor found out that I suffered from a severe vitamin deficiency.
I lacked vitamin D and vitamin B12 and these are really needed if you want to have healthy brain function
and it also helps against depression.
Another thing I want to say when I talk about food:
Make sure you eat when you're hungry or maybe even a little bit before you really get hungry and "hangry".
Never neglect the need of your body for fuel and give you body the best fuel you can get, depending on your budget.
It doesn't have to be organic if that's too expensive for you,
but make sure that it's fresh and really good food.
Point number two: make sure you sleep enough!
I know that sounds very basic and it is very basic but it is really needed for your body to recharge overnight.
Overnight your body does a lot of work that helps you to stay healthy and fit,
so make sure that you get your sleeping hours in.
In average you should sleep between 7 & 8 hours at night - it depends on your physique and on your health.
Point number 3: Hydration.
Make sure you get enough liquid into your body each day for your fluid balance.
I personally try to drink 3 liters a day.
I mostly drink tea - not only green tea but also fruit teas and herbal teas.
I also drink lemon water and other non sugary drinks.
And when I'm outside, I always have a half liter water bottle in my handbag
so I'm sure that I stay hydrated all the time.
Point number four is "move your body".
If you like to go to the gym - do that, that's fine!
But there are many more possibilities to move yourself
- like going for a walk or walking your dog
or maybe you can just go dancing.
Find a kind of sport or workout or exercise that really fits into your life
and into your lifestyle - and that fits your needs.
Maybe you like to go hiking or rock climbing or fencing
or bungee jumping or swimming
or horse riding - whatever it is that you like.
Point number five is: take care of yourself and your hygiene.
Take care for your appearance and how you look.
I did a whole video about style and self-care and I will link it for you up there and down below in the description box.
Point number seven is emotional hygiene.
It's as important as your hygiene for your body.
So, what do I mean by that?
Sometimes we are stressed out and we have very intense emotions
and then it's time to go and sit with these emotions to process them -
otherwise we will be stuck in one emotion for a long time.
So, if you're feeling intense emotions upcoming, then take a quick break and find out what they are.
Let's say you feel overwhelmed or stressed out or anxious or angry,
then take the time and have a little break.
Take one minute to really acknowledge the feelings that dwell up in you.
Admit to yourself that you are feeling this way.
When you recognize and acknowledge your feelings
it can help you to slow down and to get a fresh perspective and to think rationally again.
If you suffer from depression or if you are grieving
or if you have other feelings that are there for a long time and won't go away by itself
and if you feel that they impact your life quality,
then maybe it's time to go and find some professional help - I really recommend that to you.
But when you have just your "normal life" feelings then you can just sit with them,
acknowledge them and be aware of them
and it will take stress out of the situation and you won't be overwhelmed by your feelings so much.
So, these are my six basic self-care strategies for today.
In my next self-care video I want to talk more about my self care routines
and tell you more about my "personal power plants".

rewarding 1 million Euros to four
Alzheimer disease researchers!
Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia
often seen in older people,
who begin to forget things,
including the people around them
and things they did just a few minutes ago.
Ranking as the 6th leading cause
of death in the US,
it's estimated that every 66 seconds
one person is diagnosed with the disease!
These four professors are the four scientists who
were rewarded for their contributions!
Revolutionizing our understanding of the
changes in the brain that lead to the disease,
and leading to a higher possibility
of creating effective medicine!
The prize of 1 million Euros
was split equally among them,
and Professor Hardy has announced he will
donate some of his prize money to help
care for Alzheimer patients!
Hopefully this prize brings more attention and funding
to find a solution to the disease.
