Today I'm gonna show you a quick recipe
for quick cake with equally quick green tea.
It's powdered Japanese green tea matcha
which has its wide use in various types of cooking and baking.
Sweets with matcha such as puddings, ice cream and cakes are very popular in Japan
We often think it's difficult to make or the recipe is complicated and don't want to bake it.
while today I'd like to show you how to make the cake in a few minutes.
It's not really my idea cause mug cakes made in a microwave are more and more popular
You can find hundreds of recipes online
and we'd like to show you our idea for green matcha cake
with coconut flavor cause it's worth improving and modifying such recipes.
We're going to use a few coconut ingredients,
It's a nice idea that you can use not only at work or simply at home
cause you can actually make this cake faster than tea itself.
It will also work great during Easter when we're all so tired
and so rushed that we have no time to make a cake for ourselves.
You might have some guests and you'd like to make a quick spring green Easter cake.
Generally there are thousands of ways and occasions for that
and Matcha Muffin is highly recommended for each of those.
Have a look at what we have here.
First of all, we need some flour. It can be any type of flour
but we're gonna use coconut here. What's more, coconut milk
to stay with the coconut mood, and some fat which is coconut oil.
That's how much coconut is going to be used in our Matcha Muffin.
Next we will obviously need some green tea matcha,
some sugar or alternative sweetener - whatever you like
some baking powder, an egg and some white chocolate.
The last one is actually our idea to make it a bit more interesting and less dry.
The recipe is extremely simple. Firstly, we're gonna mix wet ingredients, then add in the wet ones,
and place the whole thing in the microwave for maximum power for a minute or two,
depending how strong is your device. Take 4 tbsp of flour, a tbsp of sugar, or even less,
1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp matcha, next 1 egg,
1 tbsp of any fat, in our case it's coconut oil and 4 tbsp coconut milk.
We're going to make tea and also tea cake at the same time.
Place it in, pour it over, time start and... let's cook it up.
The cake is mixed up, now let's go and place it in the microwave.
The tea is still steeping, and everything is going to be ready in a while.
You can add more chocolate or just sprinkle it on top, it's up to you.
It will melt down and if it's on top, it's going to make a shell
while if it's placed in the cake it will create these spaces of soft chocolate inside the cake.
So you need to decide which way you will enjoy the most.
The muffin is done, the tea is done, so now we're gonna pour it down
and we can spend a while only with ourselves,
with one-person delightful muffin and tea
I think it's a great occasion to have a little rest but also to surprise unexpected guests.
Just look at this. There's some chocolate that melted beautifully,
it's a raised and nicely baked muffin,
It's just delightful! Really.
It's not because I'm a gourmand who could binge on cakes all day
but it's because I can clearly taste matcha in here, it's nice and sweet.
