okay let's begin by saying that sustainable which comes from
sustainability is the process to maintain something at a certain level
while development is the capacity of evolving and improving come progressing
then we can imagine that sustainable development is the process to maintain
something at a certain level but what is that some according to United Nations
there are 17 goals for sustainable development and this includes a variety of topics
by this idea we can think that sustainable development is everywhere, and it is,
however we aren't aware of what this concept means and the huge change it can make on the world
according to the world wildlife we are losing eighteen point seven million acres
of the forest annually equivalent to 27 soccer fields every minute this
this means that we have to reduce that number as most of the endangered species live
on forests and 1.6 billion people all around the world rely on this kind of
ecosystem whether it is for food supply, water, clothes or shelter but how we can
protect forests well deforestation can come in
different ways it can be produced by fires, cutting them down for producing
different types of products, clear cutting them for agriculture or by
degradation due to a climate change
okay we got it, deforestation is a big problem but what can we do for reducing deforestation?
well first of all print only when it is necessary we need to reduce our
use of paper nowadays most of this stuff that needed to be done printing in the
past can be done digitally so don't waste much paper and when it is
absolutely necessary try to print in papers that were only used by one side
another solution to the problem of deforestation is to buy recycled
products when you go on shopping and now that we are talking about
recycling, RECYCLE! please this is the easiest way to help the climate change
and our earth. Nevertheless deforestation is not the only problem we are losing most of the clean
drinkable water because of climate change and occasionally some types of
enterprises that aren't helpful for the environment damage these water supply
in order to achieve success in what they are doing, but is it really worth?
just Google this type of companies and don't use the services or the products
they provide however the guilt is not only on this firms is too on us, we should
use less carbon emitting artifacts such as non-electric cars and replace them
for public service. Some information that surprised me recently was that according
to a New Scientist website cattle raising is bad for the planet, why? well this is due
to some micro-organisms carried by bovines that release 100 kilograms
of methane every year and since methane is a greenhouse gas then it is affecting
our ozone layer so a good solution to the greenhouse effect would be reducing our
consumption of beef.
So sustainable development is to innovate, create and
produce taking care of the planet Earth it means to keep improving and
progressing but using every time less and less products and also creating
processes that achieve the mission of keeping our environment and planet safe
because sometimes in a rush of development and progress we forget that
there is a world we need to care and watch out for that's why we need to look
at the side effects of what progress means for us.
And if we take into account
all of these advices we can start saving the world just like many people is doing
now I know you already knew most of the stuff I said in here but what is
keeping you from starting to change the way you live in pro of making earth better
not only for humans, but for animals and plants too because we can't forget that
world is not made from money but it is made from plants animals and water.
And if
you think that economy more important our environment just try
counting all your money while you are holding your breath
