Just got done with a semi-long day of work.
I'm about to head to ChiArts.
They have theater, dance, music, acting, visual arts & creative writing.
Day in the life. Let's go.
For the youth. For the future. For tomorrow.

Playing PRO TRIATHLETES Jeanni Seymour & Justin Metzler #metzlmour at JENGA - Duration: 14:23.- Your face there went from,
"Answer my question--" - Yeah, that was like almost--
- Into like, "Whoa."
- It's getting really dodgy here.
(upbeat music)
- Why don't we start by introducing the opposition?
So we have team Metzlemour?
- Metzlemour. - Yeah, you got it.
- We go by Metzlemour. - That's it.
- But I'm Jeanni Seymour. - I'm Justin Metzler.
- Aspiring Jenga champions of March first, 2018.
- Yeah, little do you know I'm actually better
at Jenga than I am triathlon.
- Really, 'kay. - And Jeanni's great, too.
So Metzlemour's coming out guns blazing, as you like to say.
- Okay, well, I'm not good at triathlon or Jenga,
so this should be fun. (laughing)
- Let's do it. - Okay.
- Oh, we got a question. - Oh, I got it.
- Starting it off with a question too.
- Oh, this, this was Sarah's, wasn't it?
"How many atoms are in a pencil eraser?"
- You pulled it, you gotta answer it.
- Wow, I'd have no idea.
- If you get it within a trillion I'd be very impressed.
- Within a trillion?
That's a lot of trillions.
A hundred million trillion.
- Pretty good. - Yeah.
- Yeah, but you're not within a trillion.
Several hundred billion trillion, apparently.
- Wow. - Yeah.
So explain how the training camp
has gone for the two of you.
- I think it's gone really well.
Like Jeanni and I sort of game-planned our camp experience.
And like--
- I haven't heard of anyone planning out a camp.
- Yeah, well that's-- - Explain, I'm intrigued.
- Well, that's part of the benefit
of us being a pair and a team.
So we can sort of feed off each other.
And there's only 14 athletes here at the camp.
But Jeanni and I have the privilege
of sort of being together
and feeding off each other's energy and making sure
that we're doing the right things, day in, day out.
So our goal was to be the most consistent every day.
So I don't think we've knocked out
any particular session out of the park,
but Jesse always tells us and tries to slam into our heads
that consistency over time breeds results.
And I think Jeanni and I show that in our everyday life,
and we just wanted to bring that to the camp.
- Oh, so like-- - Yeah, I think it was
just really important for us to realize
that the first few days, coming into the heat and humidity,
are super-tough, right? - Yeah.
- Especially like, we came from snow,
and we just knew things were gonna feel a bit rough.
So no matter what, we decided,
get the legs turning and kind of settle into the heat,
you know, before we can open up and go hard.
So yeah. - Where are you coming from?
Where were you guys? - Boulder, Colorado.
- Oh yeah, you're based in Boulder, right.
- And it was funny, like last week was--
- It's been cold there. - Oh yeah.
- It gets very cold there. Last week was probably
the worst week, so I'm so glad we came here.
- I've only done one training camp,
and it was myself and a coach and that was it.
And it was more like a vacation at the lake
where he turned it into a training camp.
But I've never been surrounded by
12 other talented athletes.
So is it easy to come here and have a day where you
build more motivation than your body's ready for?
- I think that's the biggest thing
you gotta watch out for at a camp
is that you gotta know when to listen to your body.
And I think that's what we want to do better this year,
is when we're not feeling good, it's okay
to just go more steady and just get through the session.
But then at camp it's hard because there's people
competing at sessions sometimes.
And you've gotta just shut things down and be okay
with people maybe being far ahead of you in a session,
and just being like, your run is in different spots,
everyone feels different,
but you just gotta follow your own program, I guess.
- I'm just trying to show what my definition of pro is.
And I've been a pro, this is my fifth year as a pro.
So I'm just trying to come here,
and hopefully people are looking at us and saying,
"Hey, look, they're nailing most of the sessions.
"And maybe I should try and do
"a little bit of what they do."
So yeah, we're just trying to show our pro-ness.
- Pro-ness? - Yeah.
Oh gosh, this thing's already getting a little top-heavy.
- I know. - Yep.
- I'm going right here.
- Oh. - Bold move.
- I don't like it, I don't like it,
I don't like it, I don't like it.
- You sounded so much more confident eight seconds ago.
- All right, all right, no, we're good.
We're good, don't worry. - Okay.
- There it is. - Were you both at Austin?
Oh, you were? - Yes.
- Yep. - Yeah?
- Yeah. - Freezing.
- How'd you like that day? - I didn't.
And I was so silly.
- I raced that. - Oh yeah?
- I didn't put on any layers,
so that was kind of a mistake.
I was almost hypothermic on the bike.
So I was unhappy.
- I'm a Challenge Iceland champion, so I loved it.
- Yeah, not even Iceland was that cold though.
- No, it was freezing.
Going with the back side pull.
- Yeah, that's bold. - That's a bold move.
- I don't know if I can suffer two losses in a day.
- Taren's gonna have to fly out
immediately if he loses his battle.
- I'm done, yeah, I'm done.
- Back to Canada, on home turf.
- Shut down the YouTube channel, this is it.
- I like this one here.
Like in theory, this one makes sense.
- Oh yeah? - But he's not stoked
He's not keen. - Yeah, he's not ready.
- I talked to the guy that, I think he finished third,
overall amateur, he showed up on the podcast
couple weeks after, two weeks after Austin.
And he said he was still banged up from that day.
- You know what, for about a week after Austin,
my legs were absolutely trashed, like my feet and stuff.
I ran real fast there. (cheering)
- That's right, that's Jasper Stevenson.
and Justin Metzler.
- But I don't know what was up.
It was just, I think, one of those days.
Oh, come on, dude. (whistling)
'Cause I was racing in China.
- Whoa. (laughing)
- Yeah, I was racing in China, 13 days after Austin.
And I was wrecked for like a week.
- Yeah, I think everyone got a bit beat up from that one.
- 'Kay, I'm gonna do this like a tablecloth.
- Oh! - Oh, that was smooth.
- It's obviously not his first Jenga.
- Yeah, obviously.
- So first races are Oceanside?
- We've already done our first race.
- When? Oh yeah, you won one, yeah.
- Yeah, that was rough.
- Couldn't have been too rough.
- Yeah, well racing that early
is a really risky thing to do, but it was fun.
- Jeanni wasn't planning on racing at all,
but it was an opportunity for her to go back and--
- Yeah, we were still in base training.
I was in the gym like three times a week,
and Jason only gave me a little bit
of speed before that race,
so our real season only starts in April.
So we'll both be doing Oceanside,
obviously, more competitive.
And this camp's gonna get us fit, so we'll be ready.
- I'm actually flying right
from Oceanside to Liuzhou in China.
I'm famous in China, so I tend to go back over there.
- Well, you're like twice their size.
- I know.
Well, it's funny, like Jeanni and I
will be doing our pre-race sessions,
like running up and down the promenades and whatever,
and you've got this six foot five, tall, huge guy
and then this little blonde girl.
Like people are looking, they're taking selfies with us,
running along, it's crazy, just six o'clock in the morning.
So it's a good time, going over there.
- I really shouldn't have done what I did two moves ago.
- Taren's under pressure now. (laughing)
- No, I don't think this is smart.
This way, however, might be
the smartest thing I've ever done.
- The pull-through. - It's so unending.
- Solid, that's solid work right there.
- There we go. - I have a question.
- Oh, that there.
- How many gold medals did Great Britain win at London 2012?
- Okay. - Oh, wow.
- Summer Games, they got two with the Brownlee brothers.
I know that. - I know that, gold medals.
- Okay, gold. - Gold.
- Okay, I see, so they got one with the Brownlees.
I'm gonna guess, I'm gonna guess 14.
- Mel's the fact-checker. - 29.
- 29? - Wow, 29 golds.
- That's really good. - That's very impressive.
- I know, right? - That was very impressive.
- Yeah.
- The thing with the golds, especially in the Olympics,
like I don't think about it, but in like, swimming--
- Swimming.
- You can win so many medals. - That's right.
- Or something like track and field.
Like there's so many events.
Like you can just keep getting them.
- I'm gonna open myself up to absolute internet hatred,
and say that I disagree with
the amount of medals in swimming.
I disagree with the amount of events.
- Yeah.
- Because it's a lot of the same athletes
that win multiple medals. - Right.
- So I don't think that it tests a different skill.
- I agree 100%.
And I get a little bit frustrated.
I know triathlon isn't on the same level
as swimming or track and field,
in terms of global participation or popularity,
but I do think, some point down the road,
and I think in our careers,
Ironman triathlon might be in the Olympics.
- That would be awesome. - And I would love that.
And I don't think it should be, I shouldn't say Ironman,
I should say longest. - Longest, yeah.
- Since I think it should be the ITU long course distances.
- ITU long course, okay.
- So 4K swim, what is that, 120K?
- But non-drop, yeah, the non-drop.
- 120, 120. - 120K.
- Yeah, that would be the 120K bike
and then 30K run. - 30K run.
- Everyone always asks me,
"Oh, you're a professional triathlete.
"Are you gonna go to the Olympics,
"or have you done Ironman?"
Those are the only two questions I get asked.
I'm doing my first Ironman this year
so maybe I can tick that one off the box.
But I'd love to say, as an athlete
who specialized in long course at a young age
and never really went down ITU pipeline,
it'd be great to have the opportunity
to race for an Olympic medal.
And I think that would elevate
the long course triathlon to such a huge extent.
'Cause then you'd get kids coming
into long course a little bit sooner.
And everyone's like-- - I think so too.
- "Oh, you gotta race ITU to get the speed first."
I'm like, "Look, man, the game's changing."
We got a little tilt there, Eiffel-tower style.
(laughing)
- Oh man. - Yikes.
- I need a stable block up top really quickly there.
- Yeah. - Long course.
Long course in the Olympics, I've never thought of that.
I think that would open it up,
because I find that short course
is so tip-of-the-spear with speed,
it limits it to an age range
and an aerobic max that kind of takes the stories
of Sarah Crowley, Laura Siddall,
that are really talented athletes
that can make a go of it in long course.
How would that play? - Look at this block.
- Whoa. (laughing)
- Yeah, I totally agree.
- Yeah, like you basically gotta be
an ITU development athlete for your entire life
since you were 15, or you're not going to the Olympics.
- Well, the crazy thing is,
I was telling you this story earlier,
I was saying I was even in the USA triathlon
elite developmental program as a kid, as a junior.
And they just said I didn't have it cut out for me.
And I know from my physiology now
that I am naturally more suited to long course.
But there really should be two disciplines
for the people who are a super-short mixed-relay athlete,
people who are an ITU athlete,
and then people like me or Jeanni
who are long-course athletes who chose that
or are physiologically more predisposed
to that success in that area.
I think that can be a thing down the road.
- I like that, 'cause it does test a different skill.
- Oh, baby. - Ooh.
- Oh, baby, see, now the stacked one,
can I put it on this side?
Is that cool or do I have to go in the middle?
- You know what, let's do it.
Let's say, let's say there are no rules.
- Because otherwise we're gonna have a problem.
- You would've had a problem. - Yeah, yeah.
- I would've been perfectly fine with it.
- No, Metzlemour would've had a problem.
(laughing)
I gotta look out for us.
- I don't know if you guys can tell from any of your angles
how much it's been leaning towards Taren.
- Oh yeah, it's gotten-- - Really?
- That's why I put this block on this side.
- Oh yeah, yeah.
- This is like looking at your own death.
- It is, I don't feel good about any of these.
- Get it, you're gonna get it.
- I'll get it out.
But, oh! (shouting)
- Thank you. - Does that count?
- I don't know, he's gotta get it out that way.
- It's gotta stay like this for 10 seconds.
- Okay.
- We're not touching this thing for 10 seconds.
Hands off here. - Yeah.
(blocks falling) (laughing)
- Yay! - Yes!
- Good game, good game.
- Nice job, Yasmin. - Good game.
- Taken down by Metzlemour. - Yeah.
- I mean, it's really challenging to beat Metzlemour.
Maybe you'll try again. - I know.
You gotta choose your block and your question wisely.
- Let's do like, how many hours on average do you sleep
or something, let's keep it like that.
- I like that.
- All right, all right, that is a very specific question.
You guys have to remember how many hours
on average does Metzlemour sleep.
- That's what I'm saying. (laughing)
- I like it. - I don't know.
- So thank you for letting us stick cameras in your faces
while you suffer through training camp.
If you want to tell everyone
where they can find Metzlemour on social media.
- I'll be on Facebook, I have an athlete page
at Jeanni Seymour Professional Triathlete.
Twitter, @jeanniseymour and Instagram @jeanniseymour.
- Best to find me on the 'gram, bigmetztri.
- I like that. - For the gun show, yeah.
- That'll take you anywhere you want to go.
- I was so proud of that Instagram story yesterday.
- Yeah, you know what people-- - Sun's out, guns out.
- People are giving me a lot of the crap
for the cutting the jersey. - Really?
- But we brought down like five kits, and Jeanni said,
"You're only allowed to cut two of them."
She said, "I'm not letting you cut any more of them."
- You have a wicked good tan line.
- I know, it's gonna be great. - Yeah.
- You can already see it, it's coming in nice and smooth.
I kind of messed up one of the arms.
I don't know if you saw that yesterday
where the back's all messed up.
- No, it looked crisp. - No.
- I didn't even think that it was cut.
- Someone thought that it was a sleeveless jersey.
- That was what I thought.
- Kind of cut and all that.
You had this little flap.
- I chopped them off like 15 seconds
before we rolled out one day,
and I was like, this is gonna be sweet.
This is-- - Breezy.
- This is happening, deal with it.

like me then I know you are super excited.
And whats even better news is that Disney has one of the best New Releases of 2018 line
up and that's what were going to be talking about today.
Hey youtube im Court McGinley and welcome back to the most amazing top 5.
Before we get started on this list I want to know- What is your favorite Disney movie?
Let me know your answer down in those comments.
Alright without further a due lets get started on our list of the top 5 Disney movies coming
out in 2018 – Part 2.
Starting off at our number 5 spot--RALPH Breaks the Internet- Wreak it Ralph 2- This movie
is set to hit theaters November 21st.
Its been 6 years since weve seen Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweets so its about time this
sequel came out.
So its only fitting that this film takes place 6 years after the first one.
In this movie we follow besties Ralph and Vanellope as they discover a wi-fi router
in their arcade which allows them to travel into the internet.
So they decide to do just that so they can search for a replacement part to fix Vanellopes
video game.
In this movie youll hear the voices of John C Reilly- Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch.
And apparently there are 9 Disney princesses making an appearance in this movie including-
Anna- voiced by Kristen Bell- Elsa voiced by- Idina Menzel- Rapunzel voiced by Mandy
Moore- Ariel voiced by Jodi Benson and so much more- how cool is that?.
Heres a clip of the trailer-
In at number 4--Antman and Wasp- This movie is set to be released on July 6th.
Like all other marvel movies this one will tie in- its set to take place after the events
of Captain America Civil War.
Scott Lang is asked to take on a new mission alongside Hope van Dyne.
In this movie Scott deals with the consequences of his choices as both a father and a superhero.
As he struggles to balance both.
He is then Confronted by Hope who needs him to go on an urgent mission.
He must once again put on his suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works
together to uncover secrets from the past.
In this movie youll see- Paul Rudd- Evangeline Lilly- Walton Goggins- Michael Douglas and
Judy Greer among others.
Heres a look at the trailer-
At number 3-- Solo: A Star Wars Story - This movie is coming out on May 25th.
Yeah they clearly missed an opportunity here by not setting this movies release date on
May the 4th- im just sayin.
But this movie does have a pretty cool story line- we follow a younger Han Solo in his
own stand-alone movie about his early adventures.
In this film we go through a series of daring escapades and we witness Han Solo meeting
Chewy.
The cast is pretty impressive including- Alden Ehrenreich- Emilia Clark- Donald Glover- and
Woody Harrelson among others.
Heres a look at the trailer-
Coming in at our number 2 spot--Marry Poppins Returns- This movie is set to come out December
25th.
Now theres a good chance that some of you havnt seen the first Mary Poppins as it came
out in 1964.
But let me just tell you it was a great movie.
This movie will follow a now grown up Michael- Along with his 3 children and Jane in 1930s
London.
Mary Poppins is returning to bring some cheer back into their lives after suffering a loss.
And good news we will get to see street lamplighter Jack again.
In the original movie Marry Poppins was played by Julie Andrews- this time around its Emily
Blunt so she will have some big shoes to fill.
In the movie youll see an A list cast including-- Emily Blunt- Meryl Streep- Ben Whishaw- Colin
Firth- Angela Lansbury- Dick Van Dyke and Lin Manuel Miranda among others.

with his favorite childhood toys.
But instead of heading back to the Hundred Acre wood Pooh bear and his friends are heading
out into the real world to help Christopher after hes lost his way.
Now for people like me who grew up watching Winnie the pooh this movie looks somewhat
frightening.
I mean I get it Winnie the pooh is suppose to have aged at this point but they made him
look kinda frighting.
He definitely didn't age well.
Yeah if this is the kind of shape winnie the pooh is in Im not sure I want to see how the
rest of them turned out.
In this movie youll see Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell- and hear the voices of- Jim
Cummings- Chris O'Dowd- Peter Capaldi and Brad Garrett among others.
Heres a peek at the trailer- .
Yeah you see what I mean?
Poor winnie the pooh looks like hes been rouging it on the mean trails of the Hundred Acre

Thank you all so much for watching it really means a lot to us.

Out Of Control Satellite To Crash Land In The USA - Duration: 7:37.--Out of control satellite to crash land on earth.
Yeah thats terrifying.
So the Chinese Tian-gong-1 space station is said to break apart from the earths atmosphere
sometime between March 30th and April 2nd.
This craft was placed for orbit back in September of 2011.
The station was designed to be a testbed for robotic technologies.
The activity it has been doing lays groundwork for a more permanent space station that the
Chinese plan to launch in the near future.
Back in May of 2017 Chinese officials released their first report to the UN saying that the
space station stopped operating on March 16th 2016.
The craft has been able to maintain its structural integrity but its out of fuel and can no longer
be controlled by teams on the ground.
It now circles earth at an altitude of 200 miles.
And the station is experiencing significant drag as it brushes against the planets denser
outer atmosphere.
Due to this happening- everyday it is losing altitude at a rate of about 2.5 miles.
Eventually the space station will reach an altitude of 43 miles and that's when it
will make its return to earth.
Now the really scary part is that if pieces of the space station do survive the decent
its hard to know where exactly on the planet they will land.
The space station is expected to break apart and there is the possibility that fragments
as heavy as 220 pounds will come crashing to earth.
After looking into it its been discovered that every continent except Antarctica is
a potential fall zone.
Its predicted once its about 24 hours out they will be able to have a better understanding
of the re-entry time down to 3 hours.
Luckily the planet is mostly covered by the ocean- so the likelihood of any survivable
pieces landing in the ocean is highly likely.
So hopefully that will be what happens.
But as always we will keep you guys up to date on this story.
Hello everyone and welcome back to LP thank you for joining me on this beautiful Friday.
I hope all of you are having a wonderful day- and happy Good Friday to those of you who
celebrate.
And for people taking part in lent its over- for lent I gave up meat so I guess now I can
have meat again.
Also I just wanted to say happy Easter to all of you celebrating this weekend.

Super excited.
Alright as you guys know we have a lot of interesting news stories headed your way so
without further a due lets get started.
--Next- So on Tuesday night a fan favorite show called Rosanne returned to our TV screens.
Viewers loved that the Connor family returned after 20 years.
And that was obvious by the 18.2 million people that tuned in.
The episode ended up debuting to the second best ratings of any scripted TV episode all
year.
The first one being the post- Super Bowl episode of This is Us which earned 26.97 million viewers.
One fan really stood out and that was President Trump who called Rosanne Barr himself to congratulate
her on her successful return.
The white house secretary confirmed the call.
The New York times said Trump was enthralled with Roseannes huge ratings.
The president also thanked Barr for her support.
Did you guys catch the first episode back ? if so let me know what you thought below.
--Next- Disney land is opening a real life pizza planet.
I love Disneyland.
Starting in April Redd Rockets Pizza port in Disneyland will transform into Aliens Pizza
Planet.
This restaurant is expected to be heavily themed on the pizza planet restaurant from
Toy Story.
As for Toystory land at Disney its looking incredible and fans are super excited about
the updates that the park has been releasing.
Im definitely going to have to make a trip to Disneyland once everything is set up.
--Next- Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans agree to make a dying boys final wish come true.
These 2 Actors are truly real life super heros.
This all started when Fox News journalist Shannon Bream tweeted this message on March
25th - Need your help Twitterverse- trying to help a young boy who is dying.
He probably just has days and all he wants is a greeting from the avengers.
If you have a celeb connection- please let me know.
Otherwise could you help out with a Retweet?
Thank you in advance.
Within 5 hours Chris Evans responded by tweeting- Happy to- DM me.
Followed closely behind with a response from Ryan Reynolds tweeting- Im more of a Reserve
Avenger.
But happy to help- DM me.
After reading these tweets Shannon was so overwhelmed with gratitude she tweeted out-
Thank you everyone.
Major progress has been made because of you.
A special assist coming in from at jake tapper.
I guess twitter can be full of love when someone really needs it.
Of course the real hero of this story is Emilio who is sadly facing what no young person should
ever have to think about.
Our thoughts go out to Emilio and his family and we hope this meeting puts a huge smile
on his face.
--Next- Alright its that time of the week where I let you know what super cool awesome
movies are hitting the box office this weekend and we have- Ready player one- Isle of dogs-

The Ending Of Ready Player One Explained - Duration: 5:28.Ready Player One, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Ernest Cline's bestselling novel, has finally
arrived in theaters.
From its dazzling opening sequence to its epic final battle, the film is absolutely
packed with decades upon decades of pop culture references.
But while some are just fun Easter eggs, others actually serve a plot function in the grand
finale.
We're here to sort it all out as we explain the ending of Ready Player One.
The ultimate video game showdown
For Ready Player One's finale, only the biggest pop culture-packed showdown would do.
So Parzival — also known by his real name of Wade Watts — takes action, putting out
an open call for help to the entire world, setting the stage for the ultimate battle
inside the virtual universe known as the OASIS.
Taking place on Planet Doom from the Voltron cartoons, the battle involves everyone from
the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Chucky himself, who goes on a murder spree perhaps
unmatched in his own franchise.
And after the evil Nolan Sorrento summons MechaGodzilla to assist him, he's taken down
by Daito, who pilots the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam after being dropped
off on the planet by Serenity from Firefly.
Perhaps the best part?
Just as the evil I-Rock is about to kill the good guys, Sho takes him out using the ultimate
'80s weapon — the glaive from Krull.
Nice.
A magic spell
The whole battle is staged in order to help Parzival and his friends get inside Castle
Anorak, which is covered by a magic spell summoned by the powerful Orb of Osuvox.
Luckily, the team has someone on the inside — Artemis, who is able to take down the
shield by uttering the magic incantation that summoned it.
Here's the kicker: the spell is actually a quote from from the 1981 fantasy film Excalibur
known as "The Charm of Making," a spell spoken by both Merlin and Morgana Le Fay.
Who knew, right?
"Have you forgotten the charm of making?"
(Klingon translation: "South Park's Imaginationland did it first.")
The value of an extra life
Even after the Orb is deactivated and the battle seemingly lost, Sorrento isn't ready
to quit.
Instead, he uses the Cataclyst, an artifact which unleashes a mega bomb that instantly
kills every avatar on the entire planet.
Every avatar except, as it turns out, Parzival's.
Why?
Well, earlier in the film, Parzival had won a bet with the robotic curator of the Halliday
Journals, an archive that documents all the pop culture obsessions of OASIS founder James
Halliday.
The reward for winning the bet was an old quarter — which, in classic video game terms,
could be used for an extra life to keep playing on an arcade game after you died.
Thanks to having this extra life, Parzival's avatar was resurrected, and he was able to
complete Halliday's final puzzle.
The original Easter egg
After all of that trouble to get there, Halliday's final challenge seems deceptively simple:
A vintage television, an Atari 2600 console, and playing the right game in the right way.
The game is the 1979 classic, Adventure.
And the trick, which Parzival immediately understands, is that you're not actually supposed
to win the game — you're just supposed to find the Easter Egg hidden inside it.
It's not just any Easter egg, though — it's literally the first video game Easter egg,
as the very term "Easter egg" was coined to describe the secret message in the game, which
reads "Created by Warren Robinett."
A movie about Easter eggs which has an Easter egg about the first Easter egg?
Now that's truly meta.
One last test
Even after he's won the final key, Parzival's challenge isn't over.
The last test comes when Anorak offers Parzival a contract, telling him all he has to do is
sign and the OASIS will be his.
Parzival refuses to sign, though, because he realizes it's a test — Halliday, played
by Mark Rylance, had forced his partner Ogden Morrow, played by Simon Pegg, to sign a similar
contract and regretted it for the rest of his life.
Fittingly, the test is an echo of a similar morality test that plays out at the end of
the classic film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, from which the plot of Ready Player
One is borrowed.
"I said GOOD DAY!!"
The true Easter egg
When he completes the third challenge and passes Anorak's contract test, Parzival is
indeed granted control of the OASIS.
But the true prize, represented by a literal giant glowing egg, isn't money or fame — it's
Halliday's belief that connecting with real people in the real world is more important
than anything you might do in an imaginary online fantasy world.
Wade finally comes to agree, which is how and why he wins in the end.
The lesson is driven home when Parzival emerges from the real world to find Halliday's one
time partner and best friend, Og Morrow, waiting for him.
It turns out Morrow had secretly been monitoring the competition through his own OASIS avatar
— the curator of the Halliday Journals, who gave Parzival the extra life he needed
to win.
In a symbolic gesture, Wade honors what he's learned from Halliday by hiring Morrow back
as an OASIS consultant, finally repairing the rift that cost Halliday his best friend.
Taking the leap
As the new owner of the OASIS, Wade is suddenly the most powerful person in the world.
But he uses his powers for good, putting the lessons he's learned from Halliday into play.
He and his friends get Sorrento arrested for ordering the murder of Wade's aunt.
Then, he orders that the OASIS be shut down two days a week to force people back out into
the real world.
And finally, he does what Halliday couldn't and kisses the girl, winning Artemis as the
ultimate prize.
Because in the end, love is the ultimate Easter egg.
Or...something.
