WHAT'S BAD ABOUT JAPAN? Japanese girls on university fees and tolerance issues in Japan - Duration: 8:14.Hey guys it's Cathy Cat and today we are gonna go onto the streets of Tokyo
and ask the youth what they are unhappy about in Japanese society.
Usually Japanese people don't really like to talk negatively about their society
but we got some interesting answers.
If you are curious about more of our videos, don't forget to hit the subscribe button...
Let's start the video!
What stinks in Japan these days?
Monotone fashions are in style right now so...
Many people just wear black and white.
Well, less white, mostly only black. - Lots of black.
It's such a waste! - It is!
People are too uptight about Harajuku fashion.
What do you mean?
I come from the countryside of Yamanashi to Harajuku.
If I ride the train here, highschool boys will say "There is a weird person here" and such.
They will point their fingers behind my back and such...
It makes me feel bad, but when I arrive here, I feel better.
I wish it wasn't like that.
So in Harajuku you can wear your own styles freely, but not in other areas?
It's exactly like that.
The same counts for people who color their hair.
Colorful hair and fashion are not really accepted.
What do you say about that, with your colorful hair?
Well, I am still going to University right now.
It's a music university.
Other students tell me they like my hair.
But people at work...
in areas like that, people don't have the same tolerance.
So you should look like everyone else?
Yeah...
reading the atmosphere, it often spells that out.
So in recent Japan, unique styles are not very accepted by society?
It hasn't been officially said, but generally our fashion is not very accepted.
People often treat us as rare oddities.
So if you are different, will people distance themselves a little?
Yes, people will distance themselves a little.
I feel like Lolitas in Harajuku have become less these days.
I think things have not been getting any better.
Do you mean Japanese society has become less tolerant about this fashion?
Instead of opening up, it has become more tight?
Yeah it feels like that to me.
I feel pretty certain that Lolita fashion girls have become less in Harajuku.
Do you think so too? - I think so...
In the 90s GAL fashion was a real boom in Tokyo.
During those days, there were a lot more colorful people in Japan.
I think there are less nowadays.
How do you want things to be in the future?
I want Japan to give work to people who have colorful hair or clothes too.
That includes the customer service industry.
Even at the convenience stores, you can only work if you have black hair as Japanese.
Even convenience stores? - Yes.
I would like to be able to work normally like other people.
So once you need to find a job, do you need to quit dressing and styling unique?
The vast majority has to do that.
This topic moves away from fashion but...
I want fees of private and public university fees be halved.
Please, they need to only be half. - Why so?
Entering university education should be made easier.
I am a university student. In Japan, you need to go to university to get the job you want.
But many young people don't have that kind of money.
If you don't have enough money for the fees, you can not enter university in Japan though.
I want this to be more equal.
There are a few young people who manage to save up their own money for university...
If you are one of the best, you might get a scholarship.
But that's a rare case example. It should be made easier to go to university for more people.
Going to university, how much are you paying in fees per year?
I pay about ¥500,000 per year. (around $4580)
That is quite a hefty sum of money. - Yes it is.
But a private school takes up even double or more the money.
Students who need to go into a private school in order to study what they want
must have an even harder time, wanting to enter a university.
Well there are the university fees but you also need your own living expenses...
and if you have to pay rent on top of that, that's pretty tough.
That's true. I am lucky to still get looked after by my parents.
And liking a fashion like this, coasts extra money too...
So yeah, a lot of things are not easy...
So entering university is quite tough in Japan?
Going to university without parent's support sounds difficult in Japan.
Yeah. There are a few cases of students who try and study with their own money...
One friend's life is divided into sleeping, working and studying.
She has absolutely no time for herself.
How much are you paying in fees? - I am going to a private school so.....
My fees are a lot higher than that.
Can I ask how much? Just give me a general number if that's ok with you.
At least double of what she pays.
So about ¥1,000,000 ... (about $10,000)
That's quite tough. - It is.
I am lending scholarship money from the country right now in order to make it.
But in my future, I need to return all of that money again.
I will graduate and then spend several decades paying it back...
Please do your best! - I will try!
Do you think your fees are too high?
Yes I wish it was easier to study in Japan.
Are there friends who could not enter university because of the fees?
Yes in High School some friends had that problem.
There are many young Japanese who want to study but can't afford it.
Because it's too expensive? - Yes.
Those were our questions. Thank you.
The girls we asked were unhappy about their perception of their fashion
and the way they express themselves
But also school fees. Fees in Japan are incredibly high.
If you have the chance to come to Japan as an exchange,
you probably only pay the rate of your exchange school,
which means for one year you come to Japan and don't have to pay the high fees...
however... oh? .... a door just closed.
If you come to Japan and study with the same standards as a Japanese student...
it is very very expensive. In Germany we still have the luck that most university fees
are very low or for free.
I know in the UK it's very expensive and in Japan unfortunately also very expensive.
Especially the private schools.
That's the one thing that is a problem and also the reason why I did not go university
in Japan but in the UK at the time cause the fee was still lower.
How about you? How are the university fees in your country?
I am really curious. Please let me know. Write a comment now so I can
find out. Also if you guys are interested, look at each others comments...
don't forget to comment on each others comments...
I love it when people build a community.
We are the Ask Japanese community, whooop whoop!
I wish you a lovely day! Don't forget, please subscribe if you are new
and leave a like on the way out. See you soon, bye!

Eckhart Tolle Guides to End All STRESS Now - Duration: 28:54.and for some people their life situation looks very easy there may be a few but
often you're deluded when you look at the external situation of a human being
say oh I wish I had a life like that which is the case when you read
magazines certain magazines that tell you the glossy surface of famous
people's and rich people's lives and you believe that what you see all you see is
the glossy surface that's not their life at all
in many cases if you could look deeper you would see that they are just as
miserable as everybody else in many cases more miserable because they've got
nothing else to project themselves into because they already have everything
where do you go from here I have everything I'm still unhappy well try
some other extreme sensation maybe that would do it
I can buy any sensation take any substance maybe let my tide and I reach
out here and there because I can afford it I can afford to reach out and look
everywhere experiences and then after a few years you think I can't get no
satisfaction
and so your your present situation has been given to you in the same way that
as if you were a sculpture and the universe gives you a piece to work with
and some pieces look almost impossible to work with what what can I make out of
this but all from the most beautiful things come out of things that initially
look impossible to work with they require a wipe they require more intense
consciousness they require more alertness if you have difficult life
situation that we could call it karma if you have a difficult life situation it
requires more alert of presence to transcend it to transform it to dissolve
it to all the old patterns in your life if you have if your life is relatively
easy your chances of going beyond the personality are not that great as it
becomes more difficult and you suffer because of your life situation of course
your motivation is much stronger to go beyond that so with that with that comes
the ability to just accept your situation as it is situation is one
thing the situation has a continuity between past and future my life
situation this is where it is been married five times
or you can the mind can say all kinds of things there I failed for five marriages
failed at business ventures failed at this succeeded at that and then failed
again let's the past however the mind interprets it
there's no failing and succeeding it just what happened and then there's your
possible future where you want to go and your relationship at the moment your
work situation your financial situation your health situation that's all your
life situation now you have to do life situation if you don't get out of it
your life situation then you'll remain stuck you need to cut through this
continuity between past and future in your life situation that all the stuff
that makes up what you say your life cut through your life situation see and this
is vital vital teaching to become free of externals because your life situation
is all to do with externals X terms of my life right now it may be good right
now it may be not so good this is the external situation of my life now before
I carry on in my life so called there's no such thing as my life is just a
verbal thing my life were a large part of my adult life my life situation was
messy it was people you would have thought just is silly but where am I
going what am i doing what and so many things I started and lent and then
abandoned them and it was messy and the strange thing is you may something in
you may resonate with that because many life situations are messy there isn't
some neatly bundled things set up this then I succeed at that and then I
succeeded in that and then and then you have your walls full of diplomas and
wherever you succeeded but it's more it's in most cases it's it is messy with
lots of unfinished businesses and very uncertain future where in going what's
going to happen I am I going to make it well you might make it for a little
while until you don't make it everything comes to an end in this realm of form
but there is a deeper round which you need to access and which is cannot be
found in your life situation it can only be found in the singularity of the
present moment which I call life so you have to extract so to speak from the
fjords perhaps somewhat messy life situation extract the present moment as
the Course in Miracles says single out this instant out of that whole flow of
past and future is your life situation so what's left I am Alive City impatient
everybody has with which it's problems the life situation is free of problems
it's always sings simply every these people are all fine I'm the one with the
problems it's not true there everybody has their problems they might just be
hiding them very well so you have the live situation but it is vital that as
much as possible you extract from that what is the absolute reality about my
life situation and ask yourself that question
and the answer is always this moment the only thing that's absolutely real about
my life is this moment just I'm sitting here talking looking flowers breathing
feeling perhaps some aliveness suddenly because I'm singling out
this moment this is the absolute reality of your life always what you call your
life situation is a relative reality it is much less real than this your future
the next moment tomorrow is nothing compared to this and when tomorrow comes
it only comes as this so to live as if tomorrow we're more important than this
is madness it's called normal living so your state of consciousness then needs
to become more and more present moment centered you can still deal with the
things in your life situation but you have access to something more vital and
then in the midst even of dealing with things in your life situation of going
from here to there to an important business meeting or to an interview or
doing this and that or sitting there talking to people or or sitting there
looking at the looking for a job because you lost your job looking at the
internet or wherever you find drops and in that moment get out of your life
situations okay what is the reality of this moment is am i okay at this moment
or not now if you can't get out of your life situation rarely pray rarely will
you say that I'm okay because you're trapped in in that whole stratum of
thought ultimately it's all thought your whole past is thought and some emotions
connected with thought your future is thought emotions connected with those
thoughts but there's no reality apart from those thoughts because when your
past happened it was the present moment when the future happens it will be the
present moment which you if you don't acknowledge that you miss it
always you miss the whole thing I've said this a few times before but it it
always seems new even to me it is so I'm so vitally important so this moment
single out as the Course in Miracles says out of that whole problematic life
situation single out this moment what does that mean pay attention to this
moment with that comes in the darkness
and then you will realize this moment is actually not so bad I thought if my life
was so dreadful but this moment just this is actually okay it might even be
more than okay if you look more deeply
it might feel good to be breathing even though you might have lost your job
which is part of your life situation and yet you're breathing and yet there's a
flower there and yet there's the sky and yet there's a an aliveness pervading
your entire body let's sleep the present moment and you suddenly can even be
grateful for life you don't have to be grateful for your life situation how can
you are grateful for all the things that happen to me a copy no they don't need
to big gratitude is only required for this moment you acknowledge there is a
goodness here that the mind doesn't know anything about and you cannot access it
through conceptual thinking that is becoming independent of external
conditions because otherwise you look for that goodness which is deep within
you you look for that goodness in external things and never find it not
for long there is sometimes you think you found it but is not it and you look
for the goodness in some resolution of your life situation the happy ending of
my search for fulfillment even if some happy ending comes what comes after that
more problems the happy ending is often the wedding what comes after that it's
better not to show it or the happy ending is I find the great job okay and
then watch what comes after that the problems that come with it great love
and that's not to say that don't look for anything you've still play in the
world of form you still continue to look for a job you don't say no I feel so
good now I'm not even going to look for job
anymore
that can't happen it happened to me for a while until the balance came back into
my life between inner and outer and this is why I'm telling you you don't have to
go there but if you do that's fine too if you feel so good to you okay in my
case miraculously I got sustained by the universe things came often at the last
minute never more than knowing what that would live on for one more day but what
about the day after tomorrow don't know and that worked
I'm sure jesus said these things more is exactly the same they look how the
flower lives he said it's not worried about tomorrow it's totally present in
the now and yet life looks after it it's sustained by the one life the one
intelligence that underlies everything the one consciousness it sustains it it
gives look at the birds he says look at the flowers of the field he wanted you
to get in touch with nature to feel that which sustains nature also sustains you
but you don't need to you continue then to to do what you have to do without the
stress and then everything flows with more ease and then you get a job
interview and you go to their job enjoy you feeling good because as you are
traveling to the interview you're sitting on the bus it feels good to be
here and you're looking at the tree and the bars of the sky and you feel the
aliveness in your body and you feel the leave the presence within you the
presence that you are and that's the present moment it feels
good and then you arrive not as in need a little me at the job interview but if
somebody who is happy to be there and I'm sure people will like you for that
because even if their mind is totally mad that might be it they might sense
something in your presence yeah in other words you're much more likely to get the
job if you are come from the place of I'm already fulfilled that and
everything flows with much greater ease but the practice is single out this
moment as much as possible and pay attention to it and then Cuba that comes
little while after comes to gratitude which is the most powerful thing there
is gratitude is inseparable from feeling the goodness of the present moment the
moment you feel the goodness even in unlikely places because the goodness
isn't ultimately are there you feel it deep within in very hard places you have
to go even deeper within to find it and that is it doesn't really have a
physical location but if I had to point to a physical location it's kind of all
around here and that is liberation that's liberation not only liberation
from external conditions is liberation from your mind and then life unfolds
with greater ease not free of problems things challenges continue to be thrown
at you but they they bounce off get transformed because you're no longer
complain about the challenges of life you no longer have a little mean that
says this shouldn't be happening why this happening to me to me shouldn't
happen to me but but it is and without the complaining entity the resisting
entity immediately the Situationists comes into the field of the where
presence and then the challenge becomes transformed so don't expect freedom from
challenges it's not going to happen you don't need it in fact all that happens
to chalice is a deepening of that presence so the practice is singling out
this moment and then that's the end of stress - I'll just explain to you when I
occasionally I give talks I'll just explain briefly how I experience it
giving a talk let's say the talk is at eight o'clock in the evening I start
getting ready at 6:00 and if there were a mental projection a mental thought
move that set okay at 6:00 I'm giving a talk to 2,000 people what are we going
to talk about water is it going to be powerful enough are they going to like
me are they going to be receptive what what if the words don't come anymore
they expect a lot or I might be able to set it will I be able to satisfy them
this is an important event a very important talk so many people some
people from the young times are coming oh my god and of
course they're totally going to totally misinterpret everything oh my god that
would be very stressful sold out and not and cannot be stressed before this
important talk first is you let go of the idea that some important event is
coming up and si single out this moment which is I'm getting dressed and then
I'm looking out of the window and put on my shoes and then I sit there breathing
there's just this moment there's only ever this moment
why should this important event has no reality yet except as a mind structure
so I'm not going there there's just this then the phone rings is the Kai's here
okay I go out elevator down one step at a time
going to the car drives off look out of the window traffic people houses it's
just this moment very simple nothing big just this moment then you go arrive at
the place go into the green room sit there eat a banana just this moment stay
with this moment it's so natural you don't even have to try anymore it's just
that what is and then you sit breathe somebody comes in feeding one or two
weird places where theatres where they have a certain structure and then there
they there's a slowed speaker in the green room and then it's ten at five to
eight voices the show starts in five minutes
I didn't know it was going to be a show
but I'm not going to believe that because there's only this moment and
then Don strange is only this chair and there's this little man sitting on a are
breathing and looking and what is it that this moment requires it requires me
to be still and look and after a while I realized that it words are required and
then I start often by saying make sure you're completely here this is it is
this moment take your tension into this there's no big event it's simple
and there isn't 2,000 people it's just one person there that I'm talking to one
person and that's all this talk is no some mental excitement around it just
just train with the simplicity of the present moment and that people wait for
some brand important thing in their lives to finally when is it going to
when is what are these expressions when is my boat coming in or whatever the
expressions are well if you're looking to it in the future is not coming and if
it comes you won't be happy stay with the simplicity of this moment and honor
it then your life becomes deep don't expect some great thing stay with your
life consists of little things even if you became some important public figure
President of the United States even he if he
it's just can only do one thing at a time can only step into the car step out
of the car go to his desk answer the phone talk to people look
into the camera one thing at a time but then go to bed and breakfast and the
same thing happens again so though instead of then instead of having your
life centered on past in future and your life situation you make the center of
your life the present moment and the rest also you give it attention as it's
needed but on a practical level only you do what's needed to for the future you
remember your past what you need to remember you remember it without looking
to it for some kind of validation of who you are because that's not in the past
the who you are is could only be found in the depths of yourself in this moment
in the presence that the very presence that you can sense at this moment as you
sit here you can't define it but you know there is a presence the rest maybe
a dream but underlying the dream there is the presence there is the light of
consciousness you are that not what appears in the light it comes and goes
it's fine so that's the the secret then is just more more this pay attention to
this and then whatever you do also becomes empowered the power of the
present moment flowing into what you do
let's practice and you gradually become free you become free of the the
personality the person that before was this heaviness of the mean you become
free of the conditioned entity which still operates from time to time through
you but there's something more vital that shines through the conditioned
entity and occasionally I've seen it in people who were close to death then the
conditioned entity subsided and there was just surrender and aliveness and
light but you don't have to wait for death it's no access that now in your
life so that is what our Sufi who later became a Sufi master what he learned
when he became willingly accepted the position of slave what he learned was
and then he started to learn how to weave for him then for years only this
moment and he was weaving everyday weaving and being just present for that
no name nobody just the presence behind the weaning and then live said you can
move on now until he moved on and through this training his personality
had dissolved and his presence emerged and he wasn't recognized as a great
teacher so he wasn't looking for ideal conditions while he was in Hawaii
but not what one would have thought is ideal conditions for awakening

Once Around the Block interview with Miss Northern Virginia 2018, Caroline Weinroth in Farifax, Va - Duration: 5:39.Hey everybody it's Edmond van der Bijl with another episode of Once Around the Block.
I'm here with the one the only... -Hey, I'm Caroline Weinroth. -Hey Caroline. -Hi. -Which way
we're going? -Let's go this way... -Okay let me come to your left side...heading down the hill... -Alright
where are we right now? -So we're here in city of Fairfax, Fairfax, Virginia. This is where I've grown up...
and this is where I still am. -Fantastic...and who are you? -Who am I? -Yes...
-So I'm the lead singer, lead guitarist
for the band Cinema Hearts which is based here in Fairfax and I'm also Miss
Northern Virginia 2018 with the Miss America Organization. -Wow that's
fantastic...I kind of knew that but I wanted
everybody else to know that. So how is that life? -How's that life? -Yeah. -It's a lot of fun because it's
always been exciting to me that I wanted to have a band based in Northern
Virginia...I know you're from DC, I love going to DC, but I've always been a suburban girl.
...so I think it's kind of fun that my band get's to play here in Farifax...We're playing at "Celebrate Fairfax".
and also to represent Northern Virginia as like a pageant queen...
I think it's really neat because it kind of shows that
no matter where you're from, no matter what you have you can, kind of,
create something...make your dream come true. -Absolutely...what an
interesting contrast between...so you play...how would you categorize your
music. -It's like 60s rock and roll garage rock...it's like if you gave the Ronettes
electric guitars...that's Cinema Hearts. -Okay...and that contrasts a little bit with the
traditional vision of a beauty pageant queen? -Yeah, it does...
and what's funny is is that I entered my first Miss America pageant when I was 18
I was a freshman in college and at the time it wasn't for me I didn't really feel
ready for it but that experience stuck with me so
when I started a band the idea was well what if Miss America played guitar what
if I took the most feminine American icon Miss America pageant queen and
combined it with a very masculine tradition of rock and roll...I really
liked that juxtaposition and then both of that came true when I started the
band and then became a pageant queen. -So you became a pageant queen...does it end here does it
end at Miss Northern Virginia? -No, so I can be in the Miss Virginia pageant in a
month...June 21st -23rd...it's in Lynchburg, Virginia...and the winner of
Miss Virginia moves on to the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City... -So we
could be talking to Miss America? -You could be! You very well could be. -That's crazy! -And
regardless whoever wins Miss Virginia serves the state for a year...and they speak at schools,
they give performances...so I think it's a really incredible opportunity...
-Totally...And you can rock and roll and continue... -Yeah well I think what's neat is that as
Miss Virginia I really would love to bring my platform, music empowerment, to
schools and to other people. I think one incredible thing about being the person
I am as a guitarist is that so many people who aren't familiar with Miss America
get really into it when they learn that I do it ...and a lot of people who
are in the pageant scene don't realize ...like oh like you can have an incredibly
unique talent or a skill set and still be involved in pageants. -So are you finding
that there's a little bit of resistance because it's rock and roll and it's non-traditional? -You know...at
first when I first was competing, so nervous I thought people wouldn't be
into it...but it was complete opposite...like people like love it, I have
actually not really like encountered a lot of like animosity towards either
idea. -That's great...so what do you uh what do you got coming up we got some
shows? Yeah, so Cinema Hearts is playing at Celebrate Fairfax. -Cinema Hearts right?
-Cinema Hearts. -Can you tell us about that name? -So I worked at the Cinema Arts movie theater...if we
keep walking down the street, for like 20 minutes we'll reach the Cinema Arts... -20 Minutes! My goodness...maybe next time...
-If we took the bus ...it would take us like two minutes...so yeah I used to
work in a movie theater that's where Cinema Hearts got our name...
we're playing at cCelebrate Fairfax on Sunday June 10th from 11:45 a.m. to
12:45 p.m. playing some songs that we don't bring out too much and then
on Monday June 11 we're playing at Songbyrd in Adams Morgan. -Uh oh, you're going to DC?
-We're going to DC...we play DC... and we're opening for La Luz...my absolute favorite band...I'm
so excited! -Excellent, congratulations!
-Thanks, it's really interesting because when I first started Cinema Hearts
when I was like posting like for band members, and like facebook groups, and on posters, I put...
I want to sound like La Luz...and here we are playing with La Luz...
-Fantastic! I wish you all the best of luck it sounds like this is a very
important year...let's see what happens. -Thanks Edmond, thanks so Much!
-Totally...we've kind of come around the block already...it was a quick one... - I'm
really fast walker... -But also, yeah also I don't know it was

Makeup & Liberation? - Duration: 3:25.So I got some comments on my fundraiser last night. Thanks to everyone who has
got my back and sent me really sweet messages but I
thought that I could take this as an opportunity to tell you guys a little
bit more about why this is definitely about more than makeup for me. So when I
was about 19 to 21 I got a job at a grocery store and I kept having these
people come up to me and fucking tell me that I looked like a Disney Princess. I had
curly hair and I didn't know what to do with curly hair or how to style it in a
way that was more punk rock because I really identified with the whole punk
scene. I didn't know how to do anything different with my makeup, I liked wearing
makeup but every time I put it on then people just told me I looked like some
sort of Barbie and they meant it as a compliment but that is not who I am
at all and I felt so frustrated that who I am was not showing through on the
outside. I've always been living on a really low
budget and so I couldn't just go get my hair done whenever I wanted. Basically a
lot of my partners started just cutting my hair for me in order to get the looks
I wanted. I also had to figure out how to do different makeup tricks with
makeup that was cheaper and that didn't have as high pigmentation. I didn't know
how to get the freaking eyeshadow to pop on my eyelids at all. I want to do videos
that address different ways to do makeup that don't cost a shit ton of money. I am
interested in showing you how to get the most out of the few bits of makeup that
you have. What I am passionate about is giving people the skills to express
parts of who they are to the world. I said a little bit in my last video about
being trans and gender non-conforming and how makeup can be such an
instrumental part in me being able to tell people a story about my gender and
how I'm experiencing my gender. And it also deeply affects how I move around in
the world and frankly I just feel like a fucking badass when my makeup is on
point and it's expressing a part of me that people are constantly
trying to erase. I just want for people to feel liberated from whatever it is
that is holding them back from expressing themselves because this is
not just a queer struggle this is a struggle for all of us because we live
in a capitalistic world that tells us that we are not enough. This world is
constantly stripping us of our own identity stripping us of what makes us
truly unique and it is not allowing us to live authentically for so many
different reasons. So I am passionate about makeup and the way that we can
adorn ourselves and create armor on ourselves so that we can move through
the world and so that we can tell people "no this is who I am and no one can take
this away from me". So that's just one reason why I get really mad when people
will just kind of oh make up that's so shallow and I just really can't wait to
start showing you guys what we can do with makeup and how we can start
exploring the many facets of identity. Thank you guys for your support. love you
guys bye

What Is C2E2? Best Of Chicago Comic-Con + Comics, Entertainment, Marvel, DC, Cosplay, Second City - Duration: 13:03.We're going in!
This is a really big convention! Lots of vendors. Lots of panels. Lots of artists,
creators,...everything! There's all kinds of vendors and things you can buy. Really
cool collectibles. And all the latest comics and movies will be featured here.
DC Comics has a big booth.
There's the legendary Jim Lee. He came here for a signing just on Friday morning.
There are so many comics here. You can buy cheap comics or some more expensive,
graded comics. A Fantastic Four for $500. And a Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge for $450.
There are handcrafted things.
And this is Artists Alley. In Artists Alley you'll find a lot of creators.
They will sell you their art work or draw something for you. There'll be Comic Book writers.
A lot of artists will do commissions. They'll sign work that they've already
done. There are a huge number of people set up in Artist Alley. This is a line
to see Tom King, writer of Batman. He's sitting in Artists Alley for a while to
give autographs. And you can catch people like that every once in a while.
Sometimes they're on a set schedule. Sometimes they just show up. This section
is the paid autograph area. Celebrities will show up at certain times and you
actually have to pay a fee to get their autograph and talk to them. This shows
everybody that's going to be in the autographing area on which days. Which table.
A lot of cool people!
You will see a lot of great Cosplay here.
He even had the good laugh.
They will sell you an updated pinball machine here.
If you're into toys, there are lots of them here old and new.
You can build your own Lego minifigure.
Lots of minifigs for sale.
You can probably buy about any type of board game here.
There's Ursula!
Graham Crackers comic book shop always has a big presence here.
And there are walls and walls of Pop! figures.
Anything you're looking for is probably here.
They've got a booth for M&M's. You can go in there and try all the new flavors.
There's three new flavors of M&M's and we get to try them and then vote on them.
There's Crunchy Mint, Crunchy Raspberry and Crunchy Espresso. I liked Crunchy Mint the most.
There's Dragon Ball Z here!
The McCormick Center is a great place to have this convention - it's really huge!
They even expanded it this year. And you're right on the shore of Lake Michigan out there.
And they're using all these side rooms for different exhibits
and different shows and panels. And right now I'm headed to the Main Stage. This is the
biggest room where they have the biggest stars and comic book artists and writers.
And Milo, let's talk about your death! Oh, ok! Go ahead.
A rare opportunity to talk to somebody after they die!
"The Whispers"...that was the show that, just sadly, nobody watched. There was this bad character, he was an alien, whose name was, actually...
That'll happen from time to time.
That'll happen from time to time, over and over and over again. How many shows have you been on that people haven't watched?
Thank you question! Uhhhhh!
15 years later, would you ever have thought that this little show called "Firefly", would still be giving and bringing in this loyal dedicated fan base that it is?!?
NO!
No.
Actually, this as many people that are here that were able to follow it when it first aired!
I knew exactly where he needed me to go with the character.
(Tom Kenny Doing His Spongebob Voice) So when Spongebob first came out, and I started doing this voice and his laugh,
and the laugh like came out of nowhere, they were like, oh that was great!
They were like, "Don't change it, that's cool!"
It sounds like a dolphin, pokin' it's head out of the water, doin' that!
What's up Chicago???
Chicago is happy to have you guys! You guys happy to have them here?
I'm here because I heard that Dave was gonna be singing songs from "Frozen", and "Hannah Montana". Is that right? Did I get that right?
That was the plan, but I got a little sick, a little cold, and my voice is gone. So, I'd feel a little self-conscious about it. So, sorry guys!
There we are. Can you say something? No???
Hey, man! How you doing? I'm doing well. You're doing well. You look great!
You can buy all kinds of weapons here. Fake, but very realistic.
Today is Saturday, and it's a lot busier than Friday was. A lot more people are
off today so it's just a lot more crowded. But it's a lot of fun. A lot going on.
This looks like the Batmobile from the '60's TV series.
This is the Family HQ area. There's a lot of Family-Friendly, Kid-Friendly
activities going on and demonstrations.
This is the Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary. You can see some animals over here.
We've got a puppet show about to start here.
This is the Star Wars area. The 501st & Rebel Legion.
Looks like a Snowtrooper and a Tauntaun.
Can I get us all in a video, maybe? There we go.
It looks very friendly, very tame.
Hi-2 D-2 R-2 Builders.
. A lot of photo ops over here.
Poor Han. Still frozen.
Here's a drawing class. I believe it's "Learn to draw in 30 minutes". Correction.
"You can draw in 30 minutes". I'm not so sure.
There's a big food court area, but it is really busy.
This view from one of the upper eating areas gives you an idea of just how big
this is, and how packed this is today on a Saturday.
And there's more on that other side.
This is Princess Etch in the Family HQ Zone. And she's teaching people how to use an Etch A Sketch.
And make, I guess you'd call, erasable art.
This is some of Princess Etch's artwork.
That's incredible!
This looks like from the Neverending Story.
That's good!
Here's Ryan Stegman doing some art.
Now we're going to bring up the legendary Second City who is going to put kind of a twist on some classic game shows.
This is "Pop Culture Clash". So let's give a round of applause and welcome to the stage, "Second City"!
Hello everyone! It's me, Firestorm, the most popular member of the Justice League.
You're welcome that I'm here. I'm Firestorm! The powers of a fire and a storm.
I think some people booed you when you came out! Ooooed or booed you, I'm not sure.
Only Villains!
You can get your picture taken in a hot dog.
They have setups where you can get together and play your favorite games.
They had one for Magic the Gathering the other day. This is Star Wars Legion.
This is Star Wars X-Wing Miniature Games.
Jafar! Awesome!
There's Steampunk Lincoln. Steampunk kinda fits Lincoln.
This area is Cosplay Central. Everything you want to know about cosplay, or get
supplies, or find out a little more information.
Here's some different cosplay costumes that they've made.
The Iron Throne.
Sunday from 11 to 12 they're doing "Iron Wig".
They're doing console gaming here. Old-style TVs and games!
C2E2 is over. It's time for us to go.
We had a great time .I know I did, and I think my sons and their friends did too.
We've geeked out a lot.
Now it's time to go back to the real world. Bye!
