The Real Reason Why Kate And Prince William Can't Hold Hands - Duration: 2:12.Ever wonder why Kate and Prince William are rarely seen acting lovey-dovey in public?
Well, apparently there's very real reason for their lack of PDA.
While there are the occasional candid shots of the two being in physical contact with
one another, they mostly tend to keep some distance between them in public, and there's
a reason.
Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton follow the lead of his grandmother, Queen
Elizabeth II, who has long set an example for how royals should behave in public.
The queen, who has rarely been photographed smooching her own husband, Prince Philip,
has kept things very professional during her long-lived reign, treating her royal status
less as a birthright and more as a job.
As such, she and her "co-workers" can't just go around holding hands with their significant
others.
They need to keep it together and get work done.
As body language expert Robin Kermode told the Daily Mail:
"The Queen rarely holds hands with her husband in public and this seems to have set an unwritten
precedent for the other royals."
So, when William and Kate are out performing their royal duties, they're not just a couple
- they're also representatives of the British monarchy.
And they need to act like it.
"I felt very, very, very privileged, yeah."
Plus, it's obvious that William and Middleton love one another and don't need to demonstrate
the seriousness of their relationship to the world - they've had three kids together and
seem to be genuinely affectionate for one another even without holding hands in front
of the public.
As Kermode put it:
"They do not seem to feel the need to prove their love – particularly when on official
state business.
They come across as a strong, independent couple and while they are always on show,
they do not feel the need to 'show' their love for each other to the world."
Perhaps unfairly, William's younger brother, Prince Harry, has a little more leniency when
it comes to getting flirty with his lady love and new wife, Meghan Markle, as he's currently
sixth in line to the throne and likely won't ever be crowned king.
It's worth noting that there are no set rules about showing affection in public for the
royal family.
So, we may still see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge getting cozy in the future, depending
on the occasion.
For example, it's perfectly acceptable for the couple to act lovingly toward one another
after welcoming a new addition into their family, as the two were spotted holding hands
while leaving the hospital with their third child, Prince Louis, in April 2018.
At the time, William was also photographed putting his arm around his wife as she cradled
their newborn.
If there's ever a time to sidestep protocol, that was it.

Mysterious Personal Shopper | 인형의 집 EP 63 [SUB : ENG, CHN / 2018.05.30] - Duration: 32:34.(Episode 63)
You can...
Have this office.
Act like the owner of the company
and try everything you want.
Gyeonghye.
When I...
Punched Myeonghwan for you...
When you...
Gave me your clothes...
And jumped into danger for me...
I thought those days...
Would become fond memories.
Stop saying useless things.
I didn't know...
They wouldn't be memories...
But weapons.
I really liked you.
I wanted to know...
Who you are.
I tried to understand you.
That is why...
I can read you.
What you're thinking...
And what you'll do.
I know what you'll do
after putting me in that chair.
But I...
Won't let you have your way with me.
Where's dad?
I'll talk to him.
Don't.
I'll do it.
It's only right.
Don't turn on the light.
You frighten me now.
I'm scared.
I don't want to...
See your face.
Leave me alone.
I have a lot to think about.
Is dad okay?
No.
Later.
I'm going to step out for a bit.
Get some rest.
Are you going to see Gyeonghye?
Yes.
I should change the locks,
so you can't just barge in here.
So annoying.
Was everything okay with the funeral?
That's not what you came to ask me.
You came to ask
why I sent Hyojeong to rile up Seyeon's family.
That's what you're curious about.
Isn't that why you're here?
Now that grandpa has passed away
and I'm all alone.
Seyeon should lose her family too.
Turns out Seyeon is an heir
to a conglomerate.
Once the family finds out,
that warm and peaceful family...
Will latch onto Seyeon like evil spirits,
trying to get as much as they can from her.
I know from experience.
You shouldn't have touched our family.
Seyeon...
Won't forgive you.
I will never lose to her.
Do you know why I split Winners with her?
I need to put a crown on her head...
In order to break her neck.
Huh?
It's snail soup.
It's dad's favorite.
Dad! Come eat!
Hey, that's gross. Take that off.
Fine.
This is a must if I want great skin.
Where's mom?
Eat and go to work.
Is anyone home?
Is anyone home?
We're personal assistants from Winners Group.
We came to escort CEO Hong to the office.
I'll get Seyeon.
Wait at the end of the alley.
People from Winners Group
came to escort you.
Dad.
You were shocked yesterday, weren't you?
Don't tell Cheolsu and Ganghui.
There's been so much going on with the family lately.
If they find out about you too,
the family will be traumatized.
I'll tell them quietly
when the time is right.
Okay.
Dad...
Nothing's changed, right?
I'm still your daughter...
And a member of our family.
Dad.
About mom...
The people are waiting.
You should go.
The funeral's over but
you haven't quit your job
or moved out of the house. Why?
If you've given up on your revenge...
You should leave.
I'm sure the revenge you wanted...
Was to wait until I,
my grandfather's blood, became chairman,
and make me fall pathetically
from the highest place and destroy me...
Then burn the company to the ground.
Am I right?
Now that I'm not grandpa's real granddaughter,
am I excluded from your revenge?
I questioned that.
But I don't think so.
I'll protect the company.
So I have to be your enemy
since you want to destroy it.
However...
I am not your enemy.
Winners built by grandpa...
Will be dismantled in my hands.
I will rewrite its history.
All of the businesses and philosophies
that grandpa left behind
will disappear.
And Eun Gyeonghye's new Winners
will be established.
Lee Jaejun.
Take my hand.
Trust me.
Do you...
Trust me?
I don't trust anyone.
However,
I do keep my promises.
If you take my hand...
I'll compensate the victims of
the dye factory incident.
If you make me your enemy...
I will punish them instead.
Give me an answer before my inauguration.
Tell me whether you'll take my hand...
Or leave it.
These are the details regarding
the chairman's Swiss account
and private domestic accounts.
You must change the name
on the accounts to yours before your inauguration.
You must've wanted to dump
Myeonghwan's illegal funds onto me
and send me to jail.
Lee Jaejun.
I'll use this...
To get rid of your woman.
Hi, CEO Hong.
This external hard drive has the company's
confidential documents and lobbying documents.
And this is information on the Swiss account
and private domestic accounts that you must manage.
I changed the account holder's name to yours.
As per the chairman's wishes,
the announcement regarding
his will and then the announcement
that you are the late Chairman Eun's grandchild
will be executed a week later, at the inauguration.
You may go.
At lunch,
there's a confidential meeting during lunch.
I hope you don't disgrace grandpa's good name.
I'm worried.
Our stocks are being sold off due to profit taking
and the uncertainty caused by the chairman's passing.
It looks like our stock prices will plummet and
the minority shareholders are strongly in opposition.
We need an alternative that will
restore the shareholders' confidence in the company.
We must stop the sales of stock first.
Make a public announcement that we are
buying back our treasury stock and getting rid of them.
We must find a cost-effective measure.
CEO Hong.
What is your opinion?
Do you have no opinion?
Then I'll assume you agree.
I think we should
shut down the scholarship foundation as well.
Why don't we cut back on the welfare programs?
We should shut down businesses
that aren't profitable.
Cut back on the foundation
and employee welfare programs...
Can't we
leave them as is?
Do you have another strategy?
They are good deeds
and if the chairman were alive,
he would've said not to do that.
He said once he stepped down as chairman...
He wanted to run a business
that gives out clothes rather than makes them.
Madam CEO.
The company's survival is at stake here.
The company can't be sustained on
silly things like compassion.
I don't understand.
I know it was the late chairman's last wish...
But how could he make someone like this the CEO?
I don't understand either.
You want to do it because it's a good deed?
Do you realize that you would've cost us
millions of dollars?
I'll take care of the company,
so you just sign and approve the requests.
Go shopping or take trips.
Just spend money.
If you get bored, you can abuse weaker people.
If you get depressed, you can go see a shrink.
That is all
you can do.
Mom,
I saw three men who resembled Mr. Ma today.
One had his smile, one had his eyes
and one liked his chicken extra-crispy.
Three men like that.
- You must miss him a lot. / - Yes.
Where do you think he went?
I don't know. His office is always closed.
I don't know either.
Mister!
Oh?
My neighborhood friend.
How have you been?
How have you been?
You should say where you're going if you're going
to disappear! Do you know how worried we were?
We were worried.
Why did you worry about me?
I was only gone for a few days.
You look like you're doing just fine, so that's good.
Let's go, Ung.
I grew up without a family to greet me
even if I ran away and came back,
so I'm not used to
telling people that I'm going away.
You must have worried a lot.
I did no such thing.
I just hated wasting those chickens I fried,
expecting you to come.
Mom closed the restaurant an hour late
every night because she was waiting for you.
I did not!
It was because we had so many customers.
Let's go. Let's get home.
Let's go, Ung.
I have something to report.
This will upset you quite a bit...
When you see it.
(Poisonous gas leak due to manager's negligence)
My father...
Was framed unjustly...
And passed away in prison.
Because of that, my sister...
Was sent to an orphanage.
After she was adopted...
She was abused and went missing.
(Petition)
(Lee Yeongsik is innocent, the company is at fault)
(Eun Gitae)
I'm going to resolve the dye factory incident
that my grandpa...
Was unable to resolve.
I'm sure the reason he was devoted to
charitable work,
and kept the petition in his heart for 20 years...
Was because of guilt...
From not testifying back then.
And I...
Realized once again...
While reviewing the dye factory file...
That we should never have met.
I've decided...
To accept that you and I...
Can never be together.
After you left that day...
I took my hope of marrying you...
And living an ordinary, happy life with you...
And threw it into the ocean.
I can't be...
Your husband or the father of your child...
But I will become the shadow...
Of Winner's future owner, Hong Seyeon.
Will you allow it?
May I...
Hold you one last time?
Hello.
How have you been
these days?
Your migraines...
Work... Everything.
It's okay.
Kkotnim.
I heard...
You gave up on finding the real...
Hit-and-run driver.
Your family
went through too much because of me.
And an innocent man
was wrongly accused.
All that was too hard for me.
I'm sorry.
Why are you sorry?
Don't give up...
On finding the culprit.
(Foundation and welfare program termination plan)
Sign them.
What are you trying to pull?
Grandpa worked hard his entire life to build
these charitable and public interest businesses.
Why are you trying to get me to
terminate them myself?
I will never...
Let you control me.
Still.
It'll all be over for you soon.
A, ya, eo, yeo.
A, ya, eo, yeo...
That's it. Again.
A, ya, eo, yeo.
A, ya, eo, yeo...
Very good.
No.
A, ya, eo, yeo...
Again.
Say it slowly.
Thank you...
Thank you?
Yes.
Eun Gyeonghye!
What were you saying?
Umm...
I thanked him
for being alive.
Not you.
I was asking him.
Take her out of here.
No. No. Let go of me.
Gyeonghye. Gyeonghye!
Hey, you...
No. Wait a minute. Let go!
Eun Gyeonghye!
Open your eyes.
Open your eyes.
You should see my face one last time.
Tomorrow...
You're getting your surgery.
Hyojeong will be
heading to the mental hospital.
No...
She isn't going as a doctor but as a patient.
It isn't a legal establishment,
so she'll suffer a bit.
No...
Jang Myeonghwan.
Sleep well until you get on
the operating table.
Sweet dreams.
Let me out!
I'm not a mental patient!
I'm a doctor!
Eun Gyeonghye!
Let me out!
I'll kill you, Gyeonghye.
Save Myeonghwan!
Gyeonghye!
Let me out!
Send information on
the Swiss account in Seyeon's name...
And the borrowed accounts...
To the Prosecutor's Office.
Jang Myeonghwan was just taken
into the operating room.
Grandpa.
Today is my inauguration. I'm becoming
the chairman of Winners.
I have no one to congratulate me.
So I had to give myself a gift.
I removed all the obstacles
in my way.
I'm burying Myeonghwan,
who tried to kill me.
I locked Hyojeong up in a mental hospital
for turning me into a mental patient.
Now, there's only one person left.
Seyeon, who made me your murderer.
I'm going to send her to jail today.
(CEO Hong Seyeon)
My inauguration begins in 10 minutes.
Hong Seyeon, you...
Won't be able to attend.
Rather than the inauguration...
You'll be going to jail.
Hong Seyeon.
You are under arrest for embezzlement
and creating an illegal slush fund.
Eun Gyeonghye.
You are under arrest for
the hit-and-run accident
in Yangpyeong 5 years ago.
Tell me why I was arrested and
what's going on.
It was Gyeonghye, wasn't it?
You won't get your way, Lady Geum.
You want to send me to jail
and give Seyeon the entire company.
Gyeonghye, I'll kill you.
May I ask you for a favor as well?
Let's pay for what you did and start over.
Mom will help.
Tell me where my birth mom is.
I'll ask you one last time.
Where are you hiding her?

The Wave of Things #24 · Ash Code - Duration: 17:15.Hello and welcome to The Wave of Things
my name is André Savetier. As you can see
I am enjoying the warm weather with some
nice grilling. Today's special guests
will be Ash Code from Italy, I'm sure
you've heard their music before, they
recently released their third studio album
called "Perspektive"
which is amazing, and today we will have
a nice talk with them
I am here today with Ash Code, with
Claudia and Alessandro. -Hi! Hello! - Hello!
I still remember... I think in 2014 you put
out your first single 'Dry Your Eyes', and
I was fascinated by your sound and ever
since I am following your career and
your music. Recently you released a new
album, the third one, it's called
"Perspektive" (in German), also the title
song of this album, Claudia sings on it
it's a collaboration with Luca Gillian
from Die Selektion from Germany. Claudia,
how good is your German? - I want to tell
you a little story about this
first I was totally attracted for the
German language since I was a child. I
preferred to play with German kids and
not with Italian kids when I was on
vacation, and I liked the way in which
they speak and so, I love the German language
because I studied philosophy, so lots of
philosophers are German, and I like
very much the sound of the German language
and for 'Perspektive' I was helped by my
German friend, she's from Cologne and
she helped me [with the] pronunciation and the text
of our song. So, I hope that my pronunciation
is good, but some German friends said to
me that it's okay. -We were looking for
another person to sing in the chorus and
we know very well Luca from Die
Selektion, and we sent him a demo, he
listened to it and he said wow, we can
make something together. So we made the
songs with him, we made a video and it
was very funny to make a video with him
but not in the same place, and we have
to thank our director Eliot to have
made a great video, I think. - Yeah, the video
is really great and I'm curious, you are
using some weird instruments there, I
remember a bow and some... like a squarish
thing, so what is that? - For this new
single we wanted to make something
different in the... for the beats, for
the sounds of the synthesizers, and using
an e-bow on a Fender 6. I found a guy
who makes handmade instruments. He is
called Massimo [?] and he made for me
this instrument, it is called Micro D
and it's very funny because you
you can strum it with the violin [bow]
you can beat it with a drumstick, echoing noises
and very curious sounds, and it was
very important to complete the song
because the song was not finished and I
was looking for something new, and then
this new instrument arrived, and it was
perfect
Now, it's definitely a very interesting
instrument and it looks very cool on the
video, when you play it. - It's not very
easy to play it during the live set
because you have to be very careful with
the tuning. It's not very easy but it's
very cool and the sound is is very
interesting. - Your name, Ash Code
it's a very interesting name but where
does it come from? - We chose these two
words because we played with our names'
initials, A and C, Alessandro and Adriana
and Claudia. And we collected these two words
because they evoke something of
existence, and another thing that evokes
the word "ash" is our city
Napoli, because we've got a volcano
it's called Vesuvius, and we are
influenced, we think, from it. So, "ash" is
the Vesuvius' ash. - How is it in Napoli, how
is it with this kind of music, are there
concerts? Also Geometric Vision, I think,
are from Napoli. - We have four or five
bands that currently are very good, and
tour the world every month, and I think in
Italy it's the best city currently
for this kind of music. The scene is not
very big because this kind of music's not
very popular but as you said
Geometric Vision, Hapax, and
other bands are very good. If you go to
a party in Germany, or in France, or in Spain
you can listen to our songs in the
DJ-sets of all the DJs all over the
world, and we are proud of it... It's a
beautiful city, Napoli
it's a difficult city because we have a lot
we have a lot of bad and very good
things but we think that Ash Code is
very linked to this city
Most success you have in Germany, is this
right? -Yes, maybe because our sound is
similar to the most important German
bands. Someone says that our sounds
remember of something like Kraftwerk and
maybe Clan of Xymox
but Ronnie is Dutch, but they live in
Germany and lots of people see that Ash
Code's sounds remember of Clan of Xymox
German people love very much
electronic [music], so they love Ash Code. - We made
our setting the video in Berlin
and people started to think we were from
Berlin. I don't know because in the
first two years every promoter thought we
were from Germany. They wrote to us thinking
ok and we can make this this gig, so you
are living in Berlin, yeah no it's not
correct, we live in Naples, but we love Germany
yes, it's the best place for us. Last
Friday we played at WGT and as
always it was very, very good, the best
best audience and the best place where
it's possible to play. - Your success
started quite soon after you released
your first album, no? I think you got a
quite good reputation from the very
beginning on? - Yes, it was very curious, we started the band
as an experiment, I had two demos that
that were very old but after two or
three weeks I couldn't
complete them so I asked
Claudia to help me with the melodies or
the synthesizers. We made 'Dry Your Eyes' and
necessary songs, melodies, probably in
five minutes and we recorded it very
quickly, and as an experiment we uploaded
them to soundcloud but we weren't a real
band
We chose Ash Code, okay, we put them
there, let let's see what's happening and
after a few hours DJs from the
scene started to write to us to ask [for]
the songs, to play them at the parties and
we got big requests and it was very
strange because we had only two songs
and then we started to think
okay, probably it's better to make a real
band that we're honest too and making
other songs. We made "Oblivion" in [a] few
weeks because as I said after [a] few days a
promoter in Napoli asked us to open for
She Past Away, their first gig in
the South of Italy, and we said, okay, yes
let's make it but we had only two
songs, then we started to write the other
songs very, very quickly, in six weeks, I
think, we wrote "Oblivion" and when we
played, I think it was March, and we had
a set of a seven or eight
songs included the sound cover and
"Oblivion" was completed very, very quickly
and we thought, okay, it's very
easy to make an album, we can write an
album every six weeks but it's not real
because we made the second and now the
third one
it was more difficult because we have to
always think, okay this song is maybe
it's too similar to another song, we can
make a different version, we can
use different sounds, so now it's more
complicated that in the beginning, now
we have this new album out
we made it thinking about making a
different version of Ash Code without
changing ourselves, and it was very
difficult and... but we are very
happy with the results. Basically, it was
more homemade because I recorded almost
everything by myself, and I sent all the
tracks to Doruk from She Past Away that
made the mixing and mastering and
working this way in a different way than
the rest was very good, I think the
result is very good, and we hope to
change in every release, to improve our
sound to go to a next level. I hope...
You liked the new album? Have you
listened? - Very much! - Very much? Ok, we're happy for this
What's your connection to to Poland?
To Poland, if you say Poland
I think of Siekiera, it's one of our favourite
bands. In the past I made a cover of
'Nowa Alexandria', my pronunciation was
terrible, and there's something on
YouTube with another band, I'm not very
proud of this but I love this band and
as you can see on our guitar we have the
the Polish flag, we bought these
stickers in Cracow when we played with a
different band five years ago and we
love Polish people. On every release of
Ash Code you can find Sandra, it's a
Polish girl, a polish artist
we like Poland, we like the skies of
Poland. What do you think, Claudia? - I love very much
Polish people, they are very friendly and
every time we go to Poland, they want to
drink with us every time and in
particular, I love very much
the sky of Poland because I find that
the sky of Poland is full of stars, and
maybe in Poland I've seen the most
beautiful sky that I've ever seen in my
life. - I am through with my questions, so, do
you want to add something for the end?
I know your program, probably you have to come to Napoli
to make a The Wave of Things Special
South of Italy, or something like that
You can make a one-hour-special
with us, with Geometric Vision,
Hapax and other bands, you can be our
guest
You are welcome! - Thank you very much!
So I wish you good luck for your musical
work, I admire your work very much. Ash
Code, bye bye! - Bye bye! - It was great to
finally talk to Ash Code. Another thing I
wanted to tell you is, about two weeks ago
I started a collaboration with an
American guy, Raymond Nelson, who makes
exquisite synthwave music, and he asked
me to sing to his songs. The first song
of those is called 'Fomalhaut' and we
published it some days ago on YouTube
with a video. Hope you like it
and thanks for watching, see you next
time! ;)

How to Put Dreams into Your Goals - Duration: 2:02.Hi my love! Are you all right? Today we will talk about putting dreams
into goals. Objective we have to have, otherwise we do not walk or walk and it does not
get anywhere. Because what is the goal? It is known where I get. So if I have the
goal, I start walking in that direction. And this can be very annoying, really boring,
because it may not be fun at all. I have to get up
every day and do something because of ... I HAVE to do something. But when I
put my dream into my goals, I change that. I change the day to day. I
start to put life into life. Just like we said in the other video. It starts
putting color, flavor, joy. That is the goal of life itself.
Joy is a goal of life. And how do we do that? Understanding that there is
the goal of existing because of a dream. You need to understand that, you do not
work every day to earn your daily bread. Realize? You work every
day because you can earn the resources. It provides
a comfort, provides you with a relief, offers a possibility. See how he changes
his figure? If I work every day because I HAVE
IT working, I will not live without the end of the month. It's going to be a horrible goal.
But if I work because I want to smile, do a little more, create something
more, then wake up all day to work
is dream brush. No matter you can put the dream
for real. So, let's go on,
on. It puts dreams into its goals.
Share this video if you liked. Let's help to help.
A kiss! Take it!

Suffering - Part 1 - Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:34.>> ANNOUNCER: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN MADE POSSIBLE
BY THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.
>> [MUSIC]
>> JOYCE: WELCOME TO "ENJOYING EVERYDAY LIFE."
YOU KNOW, TODAY I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU WITH
MY MESSAGE ON SUFFERING.
NOW IT MAY SOUND LIKE HOW COULD I POSSIBLY
BE ENCOURAGED WITH A MESSAGE ON SUFFERING?
WELL, YOU KNOW, WE ALL FACE SUFFERING
AT SOME POINT, AND IT'S NOT EASY TO GO THROUGH,
BUT IF WE'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH IT
WE MIGHT AS WELL LEARN HOW TO DO IT RIGHT.
JUST LIKE BETTY JO.
WATCH HOW SHE LEARNED TO KEEP TRUSTING GOD DURING
SOME OF THE TOUGHEST MOMENTS IN HER LIFE.
TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
>> FEMALE: SUFFERING ISN'T SOMETHING WE VOLUNTEER
TO EXPERIENCE.
MANY TIMES IT'S THRUST UPON US IN AN INSTANT.
YET THE PAIN CAN LINGER IN OUR MIND AND EMOTIONS
FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE A LIFETIME.
WHEN BETTY RAMEY'S SISTER DIED IN 2008,
SHE WAS FACING THE SAME GRIEF WE ARE ALL CHALLENGED WITH,
YET HER SUFFERING MULTIPLIED.
>> BETTY JO: AND THEN MY MOM PASSED AWAY IN 2009
AND THEN MY HUSBAND IN 2010
AND THEN MY BEST FRIEND/ SISTER-IN-LAW/SISTER
IN 2011.
THE EMPTINESS WAS OVERWHELMING, AND I GOT LOST IN IT.
AND I GOT WEAKENED IN IT.
IT WAS JUST OVERWHELMING.
>> FEMALE: EVERY TIME BETTY BEGAN TO HEAL FROM ONE LOSS,
ANOTHER KEY PERSON IN HER LIFE DIED,
AND THE PAIN GREW DEEPER.
>> BETTY JO: IT WAS LIKE BEING AN ORPHAN.
IT WAS LIKE BEING ABANDONED.
IT WAS LIKE FINDING OUT THE WORLD HAD COME TO AN END
AND YOU'RE THE ONLY SURVIVOR AND YOU WISHED THAT YOU HADN'T.
>> FEMALE: BETTY DISCOVERED WHEN YOU LOSE THE PEOPLE
THAT SUPPORTED YOU THROUGH PAST SUFFERING,
YOU NEED HELP TO KEEP YOU FOCUSED ON THE ONE
WHO CAN HEAL THE PAIN.
>> BETTY JO: YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MORE PHYSICAL TRUST,
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MORE EMOTIONAL TRUST,
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MORE THINKING TRUST.
REALITY HAS SHOWN YOU ITS UGLIEST.
THE MINISTRY WAS MY WAY OF ALWAYS KEEPING
GOD PRESENT.
I WOULD JUST JOURNAL WHAT THE MESSAGE WAS ABOUT TODAY
AND WHAT I'VE APPLIED THAT TO TODAY.
BECAUSE YOU COULD WATCH THE SAME SHOW TWO YEARS APART
AND GET A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MESSAGE FROM GOD
FROM IT.
SO, TODAY THIS IS WHAT JOYCE TALKED ABOUT, AND TODAY
THIS IS WHERE I APPLIED IT.
>> FEMALE: BETTY SAYS HER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
DEEPENED WHEN SHE PUT INTO PRACTICE WHAT SHE LEARNED.
READING SCRIPTURES WERE NO LONGER ENOUGH.
SHE HAD TO DO WHAT THEY SAID.
>> BETTY JO: I WENT INTO A PLACE OF THANK YOU
SO THAT I WOULDN'T GO INTO A PLACE OF RESENTMENT.
IT FELT LIKE I HAD LOST EVERYTHING,
SO I HAD TO START COUNTING MY BLESSINGS.
EVEN WHEN I DIDN'T FEEL IT.
EVEN WHEN I DIDN'T BELIEVE IT.
WHEN YOU'VE LOST WHAT YOU FEEL AND WHAT IS YOUR TRUTH,
YOU'VE LOST EVERYTHING.
YOU HAVE TO DIG INTO A PLACE YOU'VE NEVER HAD
TO REACH BEFORE, AND IT'S A NEW LEVEL
OF TRUSTING.
>> FEMALE: BETTY SAYS IT WAS A LONG JOURNEY FROM GRIEF,
BUT AS SHE DARED TO TRUST GOD THROUGH THE PAIN,
SHE DISCOVERED THE PATH TO HEALING.
BEING LOST IN HER SUFFERING WASN'T HER ONLY OPTION ANYMORE.
SHE COULD LIVE AGAIN.
>> JOYCE: WELL, YOU ARE GONNA LOVE MY MESSAGE TODAY.
I JUST REALLY BELIEVE THAT YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT.
HOW MANY OF YOU THINK YOU'RE ALREADY GONNA LOVE IT
AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT'S GONNA BE ON?
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: WELL, I THINK I'LL TURN AROUND BACKWARDS
WHILE I TELL YOU WHAT IT IS.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: TODAY I'M GONNA TEACH ON SUFFERING.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: NOW, YOU KNOW, I REALLY TRIED TO PUT
A CUTE TITLE ON THIS, AND I JUST COULDN'T COME UP
WITH ANYTHING.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: SO I JUST THOUGHT I'D CALL IT WHAT IT IS.
YOU KNOW, WE ALL SUFFER, DON'T WE?
AND SO IF WE'RE GONNA DO IT, WE MIGHT AS WELL LEARN
HOW TO DO IT RIGHT.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: WE MIGHT AS WELL LEARN HOW TO DO IT
AND GET SOME VALUE OUT OF IT WHILE WE'RE ON OUR WAY.
WE GO THROUGH THINGS.
IT'S INTERESTING.
I BEGAN TO REALIZE THAT BIBLE PREACHERS
AND TEACHERS--YOU KNOW, IT'S HARD TO EVEN USE THAT WORD
WHEN YOU'RE IN THE PULPIT,
TO BE HONEST, BECAUSE PEOPLE JUST DON'T LIKE IT.
THEY DON'T LIKE THE WORD, THEY DON'T LIKE THE THOUGHT
OF DOING IT.
IF THERE'S ANYTHING WE'D LOVE TO GET OUT OF IN LIFE
IT'S ANY KIND OF SUFFERING OR DISCOMFORT,
AND SO WE'VE COME UP WITH NEW PHRASES,
SEVERAL OF THEM AREN'T EVEN IN THE BIBLE, BUT IT'S WHEN
YOU'RE GOING THROUGH SOMETHING, NOW THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT THAT.
WHEN YOU'RE STRUGGLING, WHEN YOU'RE HAVE DIFFICULTY,
WHEN YOU'RE EXPERIENCING OPPOSITION,
WHEN YOU HAVE A CHALLENGE.
AND I GOT TO THINKING ABOUT THAT, AND I THOUGHT
WHY DO WE HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME JUST SAYING
WHEN YOU'RE SUFFERING?
AND SO I DID A LITTLE WORD STUDY,
AND I FOUND OUT THEN THE KING JAMES TRANSLATION
THE WORD "SUFFERING" OR "SUFFER" IS IN THERE
165 TIMES.
THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE RAMPS IT UP A LITTLE.
IT'S IN THERE 175 TIMES.
I LOOKED AT ONE OF THE MOST MODERN,
MOST POPULAR, TRANSLATIONS AND IT'S ONLY IN THERE
59 TIMES, AND I THOUGHT, WELL, ISN'T IT INTERESTING?
I HOPE THAT WE DON'T MODERNIZE THE TRUTH OUT OF THE WORD
AND GET TO THE POINT WHERE PEOPLE DON'T REALLY KNOW
WHAT TO EXPECT AND AREN'T PREPARED FOR IT.
YOU SEE, I DON'T APOLOGIZE FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS TODAY,
ALTHOUGH I DID TRY TO GET OUT OF IT.
I DID.
ONE POINT I WAS STUDYING THIS AND I THOUGHT, "OH, GOD,
I DON'T WANNA GO THERE AND DO THAT.
I DON'T WANNA DO THAT."
AND SO I WENT BACK.
I'VE GOT THIS WHOLE TWO CABINETS FULL OF MESSAGES
THAT I'VE TAUGHT OVER THE YEARS, AND NOT THAT I JUST GO
AND PULL OUT A MESSAGE, BUT SOMETIMES IT'LL SPARK
AN IDEA IN ME.
SO I WENT BACK TO MY MESSAGES, AND I LOOKED AT EVERYTHING
AND I GOT THIS ONE OUT AND THAT ONE OUT.
AND I CAN ALWAYS TELL WHAT'S RIGHT BECAUSE IT CLICKS
OR IT DOESN'T.
AND IT WAS JUST LIKE, NO, THAT'S NOT RIGHT,
THAT'S NOT RIGHT.
AND I FINALLY JUST SAID TO GOD, "YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME GO
DO THIS, AREN'T YOU?" >> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: AND SO I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW IF YOU
DON'T LIKE THIS MESSAGE TODAY, YOU TALK TO GOD ABOUT IT,
'CAUSE HE'S THE ONE THAT'S MAKING ME DO IT.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: SUFFERING MEANS TO LEAVE OR TO PERMIT,
TO BEAR WITH OR TO STAY UNDER.
YOU KNOW, THE FIRST THING WE WANNA DO WHEN WE'RE SUFFERING
IS WE WANNA RUN.
WE WANNA GET AWAY FROM IT SOME WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM.
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?
YOU GOTTA GO THROUGH THE HARD PART TO GET
TO THE GOOD PART.
AND THAT'S REALLY THE MAIN THOUGHT THAT I
WANNA LEAVE YOU WITH TODAY.
YOU GOTTA GO THROUGH THE HARD PART TO GET
TO THE GOOD PART.
AND THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE HARD PART'S ALWAYS FAIR.
LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS FAIR, BUT GOD IS FAIR.
GOD IS A GOD OF JUSTICE, AND THAT'S ONE OF
MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT THE CHARACTER OF GOD.
AND JUSTICE MEANS THAT HE ALWAYS MAKES WRONG THINGS RIGHT.
GOD ALWAYS MAKES WRONG THINGS RIGHT IF--
EVERYBODY SAY IF-- WE TRUST HIM AND IF WE HANDLE
THE WRONG THING IN THE RIGHT WAY.
SEE, SO OFTEN WE DON'T RESPOND IN A GODLY WAY
WHEN WE'RE GOING THROUGH THINGS LIKE THAT, AND THEN WE JUST
HAVE TO KEEP GOING THROUGH IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER
AND OVER IN THE HOPES THAT EVENTUALLY WE WILL GET IT.
YOU KNOW, I SUFFERED SO MUCH IN MY SOUL IN THE EARLY YEARS
IN MY WALK WITH GOD AND IN THE EARLY YEARS
OF THIS MINISTRY.
AND I CAN ACTUALLY SAY THAT I SUFFERED MORE
WHEN I STARTED TRYING TO GROW UP IN GOD
THAN I DID BEFORE I CARED, IF YOU KNOW WHAT
I MEAN BY THAT.
IT'S LIKE I WAS HAPPY SINNING.
I MEAN, I REALLY WASN'T HAPPY DOING IT, BUT IT WAS LIKE,
IT'S NOT HARD ON YOUR FLESH TO SIN.
AND SO WHEN I REALLY GOT INTO A SERIOUS WALK WITH GOD,
AND BACK IN THE '70S I WAS FILLED WITH
THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND MAN, I STARTED READING THE WORD
AND, YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU REALLY STUDY THE WORD,
YOU START SEEING WHAT A MESS YOU ARE.
YOU FINALLY HAVE TO STOP BLAMING IT ON SOMEBODY ELSE
AND TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF, BECAUSE THE WORD OF GOD
IS LIKE A MIRROR.
AND YOU SEE CHRIST IN THERE AND YOU SEE HOW FAR
YOU HAVE TO GO, SO IF WE'RE SMART
AND WE REALLY LOVE GOD AND WE WANNA DO THIS THING
RIGHT, WE'LL START PRAYING, "GOD, CHANGE ME."
OH, HONEY, THAT'S A DANGEROUS THING TO PRAY.
"OH, GOD, CHANGE ME."
AND THEN WE HAVE THESE, "OH, BREAK ME, GOD.
BREAK MY HEART WITH WHAT BREAKS YOUR HEART.
MAKE ME JUST LIKE YOU, JESUS."
OH, MAN, I FEEL THE PAIN ALREADY.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: AND I JUST-- I MEAN, I JUST HAD THIS PAIN
IN MY SOUL ALL THE TIME, ESPECIALLY LIKE WHEN GOD
WOULD TELL ME, "YOU KNOW, THAT'S REALLY NOT DAVE'S FAULT.
IT'S YOUR FAULT."
WELL, I DIDN'T WANT IT TO BE MY FAULT.
I WANTED IT TO BE DAVE'S FAULT.
AND I WANTED GOD TO DEAL WITH DAVE.
I DIDN'T WANT HIM TO DEAL WITH ME ALL THE TIME.
I REMEMBER ONE TIME GOING TO DAVE AND SAYING,
"IS GOD DEALING WITH YOU ABOUT ANYTHING?"
BECAUSE I WAS GOING THROUGH SUCH A HARD TIME,
AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW THAT GOD WAS IN DAVE'S FACE TOO.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "DAVE, IS GOD DEALING WITH YOU ABOUT ANYTHING?"
HE LOOKED AT ME, HE SAID, "WELL, I DON'T THINK SO."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?
SOMETIMES YOU JUST THINK, "GOD, CAN'T YOU PICK
ON ANYBODY BESIDES ME?
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT'S GOT A PROBLEM?"
AND SO I WENT THROUGH SO MUCH ALL THE TIME.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT?
I DON'T REALLY GO THROUGH THAT MUCH ANYMORE.
NOW, THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT MY LIFE IS PERFECT
OR THAT I DON'T HAVE PROBLEMS.
IF ANY OF YOU WERE HERE FOR THE FIRST SERVICE,
YOU HEARD ME READ MY LIST OF 34 THINGS THAT HAPPENED
IN EIGHT WEEKS, NONE OF WHICH WERE FUN.
BUT HONESTLY, THEY DIDN'T BOTHER ME ALL THAT MUCH,
'CAUSE YOU SEE-- NOW I WANT YOU TO HEAR
WHAT I'M GONNA SAY.
A LOT OF OUR SUFFERING IS CONNECTED TO HOW WE RESPOND.
SOMEBODY OVER HERE THINKS THEY UNDERSTAND ME.
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: SEE, I SAID THAT AND SOMEBODY WENT...
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: SEE, HONESTLY, HOW WE RESPOND--
WE CAN MAKE A BIGGER DEAL OUT OF THINGS THAN
WHAT THEY ARE.
I MEAN, IS IT REALLY THE END OF THE WORLD
IF I DON'T GET MY WAY ABOUT SOMETHING?
DO I REALLY HAVE TO GET MAD AT DAVE FOR THREE WEEKS
OVER THAT AND BE DEPRESSED AND FEEL SORRY FOR MYSELF?
BUT THAT'S WHAT I USED TO DO, AND I SUFFERED.
WHEN YOU GET A SWEET ATTITUDE, YOU PUT YOURSELF IN GOD'S HANDS,
AND YOU START TO REALLY TRUST HIM AND BELIEVE
THAT HE'S GOT A GOOD PLAN FOR YOU, A LOT OF THAT STUFF
GOES AWAY.
THE MORE SPIRITUALLY MATURE WE BECOME,
THE MORE WE GROW UP IN GOD, AND IT'S NOT EASY
GROWING UP IN GOD, BUT THE MORE WE GROW UP IN GOD,
THE MORE PEACEFUL OUR LIVES BECOME.
AND SO I AM JUST PLEADING WITH YOU TODAY.
THE APOSTLE PAUL SAID THINGS TO THE SAINTS, AND HE SAID,
"I BEG YOU FOR CHRIST'S SAKE."
AND SO I'M PLEADING WITH YOU TODAY,
WHATEVER GOD IS TRYING TO DO IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW,
EVEN IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT, DON'T RUN AWAY FROM IT.
TRUST GOD.
LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTS TO DO IN YOU, SO YOU CAN
HAVE THE LIFE THAT HE REALLY WANTS YOU TO HAVE, AMEN?
NOW, I GOT SOMETHING REALLY FUNNY TO READ YOU.
I BROUGHT ONE OF MY JOURNALS FROM 1989.
LORD HAVE MERCY.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: NOW, I'M GONNA LET YOU INTO MY PERSONAL LIFE
FOR A FEW MINUTES.
WE'RE GONNA BE REALLY CLOSE AFTER THIS.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "DECEMBER 26, 1989.
WELL, CHRISTMAS IS OVER, GOD IS GOOD.
FROM A SPIRITUAL STANDPOINT I'VE BEEN HAVING A REALLY
ROUGH TIME.
A LOT OF THINGS GOING ON FOR A WHILE THAT I'VE
JUST BEEN SAYING, 'OH WELL, I'M GONNA CAST
MY CARE AND IT'S-- EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE OKAY.'
BUT TODAY EVERYTHING JUST BLEW UP IN MY FACE.
DAVE AND I HAD A DISCUSSION THAT WASN'T GOOD."
THAT MEANS WE HAD A FIGHT.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "HE FEELS I HAVE TO HAVE CONTROL
OR I'M NOT SATISFIED.
I FEEL HE'S WRONG AND BEING VERY UNFAIR.
WE HAVE A VERY HARD TIME COMMUNICATING WHEN WE
DIFFER IN OUR OPINIONS.
BUT THIS WAS THE LAST STRAW, SO TO SPEAK.
AND EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN FEELING BUT CASTING MY CARE ABOUT
CAME TUMBLING IN ON ME, SO HERE IT IS.
I'VE BEEN HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING MY MESSAGES,
AT LEAST MUCH HARDER THAN USUAL.
I'VE BEEN HAVING A HARD TIME HEARING FROM GOD.
I'VE BEEN FEELING VERY LITTLE ANOINTING.
IT SEEMS THAT THE MORE I'VE PRESSED INTO THE SPIRIT,
THE MORE GOD HIDES HIMSELF AND REQUIRES ME TO GO
STRICTLY ON FAITH ALONE."
IS ANYBODY RELATING TO ANYTHING I'M SAYING?
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: OKAY, "I JUST HAD A SURGERY,
AND NOW I'VE GOT ONE MORE TO GO.
OUR ATTENDANCE IN OUR MEETINGS HAS FALLEN OFF
BECAUSE WE'RE IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON.
I'VE HAD A LOT OF WEIRD FEELINGS.
MY MIND IS LAZY.
I FEEL BORED, AND I'M DISCONTENTED.
ALL OF THIS HAS SORT OF COME AT ONCE.
I ALSO FEEL THAT I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRAY.
I'VE REALLY HAD A HARD TIME PRAYING.
TODAY IT ALL SEEMS TO BE TOO MUCH.
GOD, HELP ME.
I FEEL LIKE I'M GONNA GO UNDER,
BUT I KNOW I PROBABLY WON'T.
WELL, I TRUST THAT YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING--"
UNDERLINED SOMETHING-- "BUT I SURE DON'T KNOW
WHAT IT IS."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: OH, YOU JUST WAIT.
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "PROBABLY WANTING A GREATER DEGREE OF ABANDON
FROM ME, I GUESS.
I'M NOT SURE THAT I CAN DO IT, BUT I'M WILLING TO LET YOU DO IT
IF YOU WANT TO.
DAVE ALWAYS FEELS I'M AT FAULT, AND IT'S NEVER HIM.
TO BE HONEST, THIS IS REALLY HARD--"
UNDERLINE REALLY HARD-- "ON MY FLESH.
BUT I DON'T SUPPOSE IT MATTERS MUCH.
IT'S ALL PRIDE ANYWAY."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: NOW HERE COMES THE REALLY SAD PART.
"I'M REALLY SORRY TO HAVE TO REPORT--"
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "THAT I'VE HAD TO TELL THE LORD TONIGHT
THAT I HAVE GONE AS FAR AS I CAN GO."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "I QUIT.
THAT'S IT, DONE, FINISHED.
TWO YEARS AGO I SAID, 'GOD, TAKE ME AS DEEP
AS YOU WANT TO.
I'M WILLING TO DO WHATEVER YOU NEED ME TO DO,
BUT I REALLY DO NOT WANNA GO ON LIKE THIS."
FOR THE SECOND TIME I SAID, "I'M TELLING YOU THAT I
HAVE GONE AS FAR AS I CAN GO."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE IF I CAN GET OUT OF THIS.
GOD MAY NOT LET ME OUT, BUT I NEVER REALLY THOUGHT
I WOULD BACK DOWN, SO ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE
NOW, IT SEEMS THAT I AM A SPIRITUAL COWARD."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: I WAS IN A MESS TO SAY THE LEAST.
DECEMBER 26, 1989.
WELL, APPARENTLY, NINE YEARS LATER
ON DECEMBER 20, 1998, I CAME ACROSS THIS,
SO NINE YEARS LATER I WROTE: "I WAS READING THIS OLD NOTEBOOK
AND THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE."
>> [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]
>> JOYCE: "THINGS HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY.
I'M NOW ON 375 TELEVISION STATIONS, 250 RADIO STATIONS."
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: COME ON.
>> [AUDIENCE CHEERING]
>> JOYCE: COME ON, YOU GOTTA MAKE IT THROUGH
THE HARD PART TO GET TO THE GOOD PART.
>> [AUDIENCE CHEERING]
>> JOYCE: "OUR MINISTRY IS VERY SUCCESSFUL.
I'VE CHANGED DRASTICALLY.
I ENJOY PEACE ALMOST CONTINUALLY.
I'VE CONTINUED ALL THESE YEARS TO HAVE SOME HEALTH STRUGGLES
BUT IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL, GOD HAS GIVEN ME GRACE
TO DO ALL HE'S CALLED ME TO DO.
IT HAS BEEN HARD AT TIMES, BUT I CAN SAY FROM EXPERIENCE
THAT GOD IS FAITHFUL.
I HAVE FOUR GRANDCHILDREN," WHICH ARE NOW 11, AND I'M--
AND ONE MORE ON THE WAY.
MY YOUNGEST SON HAD JUST GOTTEN MARRIED.
"DAVE AND I LOVE EACH OTHER VERY MUCH.
WE GET ALONG REALLY GOOD ALMOST ALL THE TIME."
THAT'S WHAT--THAT'S WHAT NINE YEARS WILL DO FOR YOU.
>> [AUDIENCE CHEERING]
>> JOYCE: SO I HOPE THAT ME SHARING THAT PERSONAL SIDE
OF MY LIFE WILL HELP YOU TO REALIZE THAT WE ALL FEEL
LIKE GIVING UP SOMETIMES.
WE ALL GO THROUGH TIMES WHERE WE FEEL LIKE GOD
IS ONE MILLION MILES AWAY, WHEN WE DON'T HAVE
ANY IDEA WHAT HE'S DOING, WHEN WE'RE TIRED,
WHEN WE'RE WEARY, WHEN WE THINK WE JUST
CAN'T GO ON.
BUT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU THREATEN TO GIVE UP,
I CAN ALREADY TELL YOU THAT GOD'S NOT GONNA
PUT UP WITH THAT.
HE'LL KEEP COMING AFTER YOU AND KEEP COMING AFTER YOU
AND KEEP COMING AFTER YOU AND KEEP COMING AFTER YOU
AND KEEP COMING AFTER YOU.
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: AND HE'S GONNA WORK WITH YOU AND HELP YOU BE
ALL THAT HE WANTS YOU TO BE, NO MATTER WHAT.
SO WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT SUFFERING TODAY
BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO MAKE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH
TO THE END.
YOU SEE, THE BEGINNING IS EXCITING,
THE END IS EXCITING FOR THE FEW WHO EVER GET THERE,
BUT IT'S THE MIDDLE THAT'S HARD.
SO WE HAVE TO TAKE THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE MIDDLE
AND ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU GO THROUGH
THAT YOU DON'T TALK TO ANYBODY ABOUT
OR YOU FEEL YOU CAN'T TALK TO ANYBODY ABOUT,
BECAUSE IF YOU DID TALK TO ANYBODY ABOUT IT
THEY PROBABLY WOULD JUDGE YOU, AND SO WE KEEP OUR SECRETS
AND WE HIDE IN THESE DARK PLACES AND WE WONDER
IF WE'RE GONNA SURVIVE.
BUT GOD IS ALWAYS THERE WITH US.
HE SEES EVERYTHING, HE KNOWS EVERYTHING.
AND GOD HAS GOT AN AMAZINGLY, UNBELIEVABLY GOOD PLAN
FOR YOUR LIFE, AND SO I JUST ENCOURAGE YOU
TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE HARD PART SO YOU CAN GET TO THE GOOD PART,
AMEN?
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: NOW, THE NUMBER ONE REASON WHY PEOPLE WHO SAY
THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD
IS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS SO MUCH SUFFERING
AND EVIL IN THE WORLD.
THEY SAY, "IF GOD IS A GOOD GOD, THEN WHY DO ALL THESE
BAD THINGS HAPPEN?" WELL, LET ME JUST THROW OUT
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION TODAY THAT DEMANDING TO KNOW WHY
EVERYTHING HAPPENS IS PROBABLY ABOUT THE WORST THING
IN THE WORLD THAT ANY OF US CAN DO.
GOD'S NOT GONNA GIVE YOU ALL THE ANSWERS.
HE'S NOT GONNA GIVE ME ALL THE ANSWERS.
THERE'S GONNA BE THINGS THAT HAPPEN THAT SEEM
SO UNFAIR THAT YOU JUST FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T STAND IT.
I CAN'T EXPLAIN 'EM ALL TO YOU.
NOBODY ELSE CAN EXPLAIN 'EM ALL TO YOU.
WE CAN'T SAY, "WELL, YOU DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH,
OR YOU'RE THIS OR YOU'RE THAT OR YOU'RE SOMETHING ELSE,"
BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT SEEMS TO BE PRETTY RANDOM CONCERNING
WHAT HAPPENS TO WHO.
WE RECENTLY HAD A REAL TRAGIC FLOOD RIGHT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD.
I WAS OUT OF TOWN.
I MEAN, IT WASN'T GONNA AFFECT OUR HOUSE,
'CAUSE WE DON'T LIVE IN A LOW AREA,
BUT WE KNOW PEOPLE THAT LOST EVERYTHING.
AND ONE OF THEM IS A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG GIRL
THAT WORKS FOR US.
SHE HEADS UP OUR MEDICAL MISSIONS
AND JUST HAS A GREAT HEART.
HASN'T BEEN MARRIED ALL THAT LONG.
HAS GOT A CHILD, OR DOES SHE HAVE TWO?
SHE HAS TWO BY NOW, AND SO THEY LOST EVERYTHING.
EVERYTHING, ALL THE FURNITURE, ALL THE HOUSE, EVERYTHING.
AND YOU COULD PROBABLY WALK RIGHT DOWN THE STREET
AND THERE'D BE SOME EVIL, WICKED, MISERABLE PERSON
WHO DIDN'T LOSE ANYTHING.
WELL, YOU'RE NOT GONNA FIGURE THAT OUT.
I MEAN, SAYING WHY IS JUST PRETTY MUCH USELESS,
AND I DON'T THINK GOD WANTS TO HEAR SO MANY WHYS;
I THINK HE WANTS TO HEAR, "I TRUST YOU.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS.
THIS HURTS.
I FEEL LIKE IT'S GONNA KILL ME, BUT I TRUST YOU.
AND I BELIEVE, GOD, THAT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS,
YOU CAN AND WILL WORK IT OUT FOR GOOD IF I WILL KEEP
MY EYES ON YOU."
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: CAN I TELL YOU THAT THERE ARE A LOT
OF MYSTERIES HIDDEN IN GOD.
THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT THE MYSTERIES OF GOD
AND THE MYSTERIES OF CHRIST, LIKE, NUMEROUS TIMES.
THERE'S, LIKE, NINE, TEN SCRIPTURES THAT YOU CAN
PULL OUT ABOUT THE MYSTERIES OF GOD.
AND IN 1 CORINTHIANS IT SAYS: "WE KNOW IN PART,
WE PROPHESY IN PART, BUT THE DAY WILL COME
WHEN WE WILL KNOW EVEN AS WE ARE KNOWN."
SOME OF THE THINGS WE THINK WE WANNA KNOW,
IF WE KNEW, WE WOULDN'T EVEN
LIKE WHAT WE FOUND OUT.
SO WE NEED TO TRUST GOD THAT IF HE WANTS US
TO KNOW SOMETHING, WE'LL KNOW, AND IF NOT, IT'S NOT OUR JOB
TO FIGURE IT OUT.
IT'S OUR JOB TO TRUST HIM.
I'LL TELL YOU WHAT, I FEEL SO SORRY FOR PEOPLE,
I MEAN, GENUINELY SORRY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE SO MENTAL
THAT THEY JUST CAN'T STAND TO NOT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS
TO EVERYTHING.
IT IS ABSOLUTE TORMENT TO HAVE TO SPEND YOUR LIFE
TRYING TO FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT, AND I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS
THE QUEEN OF "WHY, GOD, WHY?"
AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU GET FROM THAT.
CONFUSION.
NOTHING BUT CONFUSION.
THE BIBLE SAYS: "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH
ALL YOUR HEART AND MIND.
LEAN NOT TO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.
IN ALL YOUR WAYS JUST ACKNOWLEDGE HIM,
AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH."
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY DAD SEXUALLY ABUSED ME
FOR 15 YEARS.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY MOTHER DIDN'T DO
SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
WHY SHE ABANDONED ME TO THE SITUATION
AND WAS SO COWARDLY SHE WOULDN'T CONFRONT MY DAD.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GOD DIDN'T GET ME OUT OF IT
BECAUSE I WAS BORN AGAIN AS A NINE-YEAR-OLD CHILD
AND I PRAYED THAT GOD WOULD GET ME OUT OF THERE.
I MEAN, I PRAYED THINGS I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T
HAVE PRAYED.
I PRAYED THAT MY DAD WOULD DIE, I PRAYED THAT MY MOTHER
WOULD DIVORCE HIM.
I PRAYED A LOT OF THINGS.
I JUST WANTED TO GET OUT OF THE SUFFERING.
BUT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THE WAY THAT I WANTED IT
TO HAPPEN.
GOD DIDN'T GET ME OUT OF IT.
BUT HE GAVE ME THE GRACE TO GO THROUGH IT.
AND I'LL TELL YOU SOMETHING.
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: I'M LIKE A BULLDOG.
I MEAN, I AM STRONG, AMEN?
AND SO WHEN YOU'RE GOING THROUGH HARD THINGS,
YOU GOT TWO CHOICES.
YOU CAN GIVE IN AND GIVE UP, OR YOU CAN GET STRONG.
I LOVE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS, AND I THINK IT'S IN--
SEE IF I CAN FIND THIS REAL QUICK.
I THINK IT'S PSALM 105, 125, WE'LL SEE HERE.
SEE HOW MY MEMORY IS.
YEAH, 105:18.
FOR IT STARTS WITH 17.
HE'S TALKING ABOUT JOSEPH AND THE THINGS THAT HE
WENT THROUGH AND HOW UNFAIR THEY WERE.
"HE SENT A MAN BEFORE THEM, EVEN JOSEPH, WHO WAS
SOLD AS A SERVANT," AND A SLAVE.
"HIS FEET THEY HURT WITH FETTERS;
HE WAS LAID IN CHAINS OF IRON AND HIS SOUL ENTERED
INTO THE IRON."
NOW SOME OF YOU ARE JUST LIKE, "WELL, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?"
WELL, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT.
WHEN HE HAD THOSE CHAINS ON HIS FEET AND HIS ARMS,
AND HE WAS SUFFERING ALL THIS STUFF THAT WAS
SO UNFAIR AND SO NOT RIGHT, AND HE WAS JUST A YOUNG GUY
WITH A DREAM.
I MEAN, HE LOVED GOD, AND HE HAD A DREAM.
THE NEXT THING HE KNEW HE WAS IN PRISON
FOR SOMETHING HE DIDN'T DO.
HE WAS IN CHAINS.
BUT IT SAID--AND YOU KNOW, BY THE WAY,
THERE'S NO EVIDENCE IN THE BIBLE THAT JOSEPH EVER HAD
A BAD ATTITUDE.
THERE'S NO EVIDENCE THAT HE EVER DID ANYTHING
EXCEPT TRUST GOD, AND THE INTERESTING THING WAS,
WAS THAT EVERY PLACE THE GUY WENT
GOD GAVE HIM FAVOR, AND HE ENDED UP IN CHARGE.
I MEAN, HE EVEN ENDED UP IN CHARGE OF THE PRISON.
THAT'S NOT A BAD DEAL, YOU KNOW THAT?
BUT WHEN IT SAYS, "AND HIS SOUL ENTERED
INTO THE IRON," WHAT I THINK ABOUT IS THAT THAT IRON,
THAT SUFFERING HE WAS GOING THROUGH
GOT MIXED IN WITH HIS SOUL, AND IT MADE HIM SO STRONG
INSIDE THAT HE COULD DO EVERYTHING THAT GOD
WANTED HIM TO DO AND ENDED UP BEING
A GREAT BLESSING TO MANY, MANY, MANY,
MULTIPLIED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.
SO I CAN JUST TELL YOU, I GOT A LITTLE IRON
IN MY SOUL, AMEN?
>> [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]
>> JOYCE: AND I BELIEVE THAT WE CAN DO ANYTHING
THAT GOD GIVES US TO DO, BUT THE ONE THING WE CANNOT DO
IS GIVE UP WHEN IT GETS HARD.
>> [MUSIC]
>> JOYCE: WELL, NOW, I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER
THAT WE CAN DO ANYTHING THAT GOD GIVES US TO DO,
BUT THE ONE THING WE CANNOT DO IS GIVE UP WHEN IT GETS HARD.
LET'S LEARN TO SAY, "GOD, I TRUST YOU,
AND I KNOW IT'S ALL GOING TO WORK OUT ALL RIGHT."
TODAY WE'RE OFFERING YOU "WAKE UP TO THE WORD."
IT'S OUR NEW DEVOTIONAL FOR THIS YEAR.
WE PUT A DEVOTIONAL OUT EVERY YEAR, AND THERE'S
365 LITTLE MINI TEACHINGS IN HERE THAT ARE REALLY
GONNA HELP YOU.
PUT THE WORD OF GOD FIRST PLACE IN YOUR LIFE EVERY DAY,
AND YOU'LL FIND THAT YOUR LIFE IS GONNA GO MUCH BETTER.
AND TODAY WE'RE OFFERING YOU THIS FOR ANY--
YOUR GIFT TO THE MINISTRY OF ANY AMOUNT.
WE LIKE TO DO THAT FROM TIME TO TIME
BECAUSE WE WANNA MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY CAN GET THIS,
AND I KNOW THAT YOU'RE GONNA DO YOUR BEST.
YOU KNOW, THAT'S WHAT I'M ASKING YOU TO DO.
DO YOUR BEST.
SEND IN YOUR BEST OFFERING, AND WE'LL SEND YOU THIS
AS A BLESSING TO YOU.
YOU KNOW, WHEN WE START OUR DAY OFF WITH GOD,
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BETTER DAY.
SO START WITH THE WORD.

5 Things You Will Notice If You're an INTJ Personality Type - Duration: 3:56.5 Things You Will Notice If You're an INTJ Personality Type
If you haven't found out about the Myers-Briggs personality test, it is where you find out
what kind of characteristics you have depending on different preferences provided to you.
INTJ personality type is one of the rarest type in the MBTI world.
INTJ stands for Introverted, Intuition, Thinking, and Judging.
As INTJs, they are logical, independent, sceptical, competent, and intelligent.
It only makes up of 2% of the population
A rare personality really has a unique things to share.
However, to all people actually can understand them except when they try to delve deeper
into the world.
If you want to know why INTJ personality type is so rare, and why they often misunderstood,
here's the list of reasons why they are so unique and mostly misunderstood.
#1 - Private leaders
The first thing that should be understood is that INTJ is naturally introvert.
However, INTJs actually can be a leader.
The problem is that as leaders, INTJs need to express their ideas that constantly change.
Unfortunately, it cannot be done easily.
#2 - Open minded yet aloof
If you meet person with INTJ type personality, typically they are quiet and unfriendly.
However, once you get to know them, you will be surprised.
They are really good friend to talk to.
They also like to understand people with their ideas.
They basically can accept new information as long as it is profound.
#3 - Imaginative and decisive
It is weird that INTJs actually have wild ideas on various things.
Those scattered ideas, sometimes make them confused to decide which one they will take.
However, once they have made decision, there is no turning back.
#4 - Intelligent yet useless
INTJs are deep thinker.
They are also fast learner, making them formidable for any science development project.
However, they are quite useless in social interaction.
They only prefer one-to-one communication instead of being involved with vast number
of audience.
#5 - Confident and not confident
Over analyzing is good sometimes especially in educational field.
However, lacking of confidence in a relationship with other human being is troublesome.
This can get worse especially if you are working with someone they think nice in a serious
setup.
This is why people are difficult to understand INTJ.
Though they are smart, sometimes they cannot communicate it well.
All in all, INTJ personality type are renowned for logical thinking and intellectual decision-making.
In terms of emotion and feelings however, they need a lot more confident.
Therefore, an INTJ that wants to manage their emotion and feelings in a more positive way
should think with their heart sometime, try to put aside your head and logical thinking
every once in a while.
After all, people have their own greatness and weakness, INTJs have great qualities when
it comes to intelligence and strategic thinking, by working on their weaker characteristics,
such as controlling emotion and developing their feelings, will give them a much more
rounded personality and turn them into a mature one.

Skyscrapers of the Future Will Be Engineered to Copy Nature - Duration: 5:11.Architects are constructing wooden skyscrapers and transforming high rises into living gardens.
And these designs...could go a long way in improving how we live in the future.
Skyscrapers are symbols of modern ambition.
But the race to be the tallest is fueled by steel and concrete, two materials that account
for an estimated 8% of global C02 emissions.
Two countries in particular - Singapore and Canada - are attempting to transform the urban
skyline.
In Singapore, engineering firms like WOHA are coating their buildings with lush, native
plants.
"To deal with high densities in cities, particularly Singapore where we are land-limited,
it is actually important to bring landscape greenery and nature very close to where people
alive and interact."
Aside from the aesthetics of this building, these towers of green are also helping to
bring biodiversity back to our urban centers.
Because this building has vertical gardens integrated into its design, it actually contains
1000 percent more plant life than could have existed on the original plot of land.
And having buildings that integrate nature in this way within our dense cities could
have a measurable impact on quality of life and the quality of the environment.
Some of us may have experienced New York in the summertime.
One of the reasons why we get a heat build up in cities like this is a process known
as Insolation.
When the sun hits a concrete skyscraper, heat is stored within the building and then re-radiated
back into the environment causing the air temperature to rise.
However, when WOHA designed the Oasia Hotel, they used plants to combat this problem.
"In our projects, we have always tried to aim for more than 100% green replacement.
We need to find plants that can handle not just the wind, but maybe also need to be quite
hardy as well.
Tropical high-rise building skyscraper, when you elevate it, you actually get nice breezes
and nice wind.
And that actually makes it very comfortable.
There's no reason why, I think, when we have high density in the city that we should forget
about gardens, parks, and nature.
In Canada, architects and engineers are piloting new designs out of a familiar material: wood.
"Wood is clearly an advantageous material, because it requires much less resources to
be extracted from the forest.
It requires less resources to transport on site.
It allows for faster construction."
To construct a wooden skyscraper, engineers use mass timber, which is engineered to handle
loads similar to concrete and steel.
"Wood has a very, very favorable strength to weight ratio.
Compared to how heavy it is, it is almost as strong as steel."
They'll use a technique called cross-laminated timber, where different layers of wood are
glued together in a cross-based orientation.
Wood isn't a new material by any stretch.
It has ancient roots in medieval European churches and temples in Japan.
But it has had a major historical drawback.
Fire.
Urban cities were wiped out in the early 19th century, and steel and concrete eventually
became the dominant building materials.
But mass timber today doesn't ignite as easily.
"All these structural wood elements, that need to be protected from fire, they're encapsulated
in drywall.
These elements cannot burn anymore, and they're just as safe as if it were a concrete structure."
And wooden buildings have huge environmental benefits too.
In all of Canada, the U.S., Europe, the amount of wood growing is significantly larger than
the amount of wood that is actually harvested.
If we harvest our trees and put them in structures, we actually give an incentive to reforest
more areas, and regrow more trees.
This trend has spread to countries like the U.K., and Japan, kickstarting the next race
for the tallest timber tower.
By 2050, there will be nearly 10 billion people living on this planet, and two-thirds of us
will be in cities.
To handle the rise of human population and global temperature, native plant designs and
timber skyscrapers could go a long way in curbing environmental and economic impacts.
And they'll make us feel better too.
