Sights Unseen: Altered States and the Expansion of Awareness.

Micah Hanks.

Growing up in the rural countryside of Western North Carolina, its not uncommon to see

a variety of different kinds of wildlife.

Deer, wild turkeys, black bear, and a host of other creatures that are common only to

those who look for them abound, and yet are often overlooked by those whose eyes arent

trained to spot them along roadways, at the edges of forests, and around farmland where

food for many of these animals grows in abundance.

Once I reached my teenage years, I recall being amused at how many of my friends seemed

unaware of these animals that typically were all around us at any given time.

As wed go careening off down a country road somewhere, I was always the one that

would spot a skittish doe as she foraged along the edge of the treeline nearby.

Other times, I would chuckle at the flocks of turkeys that could be seen flapping about

in cornfields in broad daylight of mid-afternoon.

What was often funnier to me, however, was that my friends almost never saw these animals.

You mean to tell me you didnt see that turkey we just drove past? I might remark

something along these lines about one of the stray hens my friends in the car would always

miss.

Altogether, it seemed evident to me from a fairly early age that there were a lot of

things in the world that, in order to be seen, really had to have somebody that was willing

to look for them.

If we apply this manner of thinking to other subjects, it might stand to reason that there

are a variety of things about our world, and perhaps reality in general, which require

more active participation in order to be observed.

Recently, a friend and listener of my podcast, The Gralien Report, wrote in with a story

along these lines, in which he felt that experimentation over the years with psilocybinthe active

hallucinogen within magic mushroomshad expanded his awareness of the world in such

a way that he and his friends who had done the same experienced things in reality which

others did not.

James, the listener in question, told me a story about an unusual experience that occurred

during a camping trip many years ago with his friend, who he calls Jack. While

gathering firewood in preparation for that night, the two men observed three golden spheres,

which they judged to each be roughly the size of a softball, hovering in the sky in a triangular

formation.

Up until that time, neither of the men had ever observed anything they would liken to

a UFO.

We stood there for a solid two minutes before we said anything, and the spheres didnt

budge, James remembered.

I had the sensation we were being watched like the spheres knew we were there.

Jack was freaked, but he composed himself and did his best to hide his fear.

Sometime later, James returned back to the field to look for the spheres, which remained

precisely where they had been earlier, hovering in a perfect triangular formation.

At this point, James felt an overwhelming sensation that he was being watched and began

to grow uneasy.

Even though this was a time we were experimenting with hallucinogens, we were stone sober when

we spotted the spheres, James said.

Later that evening, the two men decided that taking a small number of mushrooms might calm

their nerves, which did work up until around the time they went to sleep.

However, after laying down in his tent, James began to feel the same overpowering sensation

of being watched again.

Later that night, he awoke to the sound of footsteps outside his tent, which he recalled

being unmistakably human, or belonging to some other bipedal animal.

I always wondered if our experimentation with hallucinogens had anything to do with

our sighting that evening, and now with further reading and research, I heavily suspect the

two were connected. James further noted that after the experience while camping, he

and his friend Jack never touched mushrooms again.

Its anybodys guess whether the use of mind-expanding substances like this could

make an individual more prone to having experiences that fall outside the ordinary.

Modern science would tell us that such experiencesif occurring while in a state where reality is

augmented (such as the case with hallucinogens)would inherently make the narrative less reliable.

Alternatively, could it be that some people who have undergone the mind-altering effects

of hallucinogens are in some ways more capable of perceiving unusual things, whether or not

due to a sort of heightened or expanded awareness?

Again, the thought comes back to mind of one having more or less experience growing up

around wild animals, and hence possessing a greater ability to spot them in their natural

habitat.

Whether or not one is seeking to have an experience that some might call paranormal, there

is at least some degree of precedent for the idea that controlled use of mind-altering

substances can lead to positive changes in a persons perception of reality.

Studies conducted over the years at John Hopkins University have shown that psilocybin administered

to patients during studies had the capacity to affect their outlook on life, and improve

their attitude, especially when going through periods of stress or doubt.

A general change in attitude or perception, in other words, might indeed have an effect

on ones experiences in life.

Whether or not such things played a causal role in peoples experiences with unusual

phenomenon (i.e.

UFOs, etc), it could certainly be the case that a person who, after experiencing the

lasting effect of an induced altered state, would have an outlook on reality that is more

open to having such experiences.

The question of whether altered states of consciousness may have a relationship to peoples

experiences with the unexplained has often been raised by researchersacademic and

laymen alikeover the years.

Maybe understanding that relationship, and the potentials it has for teaching us new

things about consciousness, makes it a worthwhile endeavor for future study.

I don't wanna hide no more

It's time to let my feelings out

I'm scared to let my heart explore

But I know there's no going back

I'm tired of wishing and just waiting till tomorrow

Just on the sidelines contemplating If I'd fall though I know

That you would be there like you promised me

Can I be sure? I've been hurt before but I trust you

Coz I don't wanna hide no more

I'm running out of time for doubt

I Don't know what's behind this door

But I know there's no going back

No going back

Coz I don't wanna hide no more

I Don't know what's behind this door

I know there's no going back

I don't know why

I can't decide

If I lost my mind

Coz I trust you

My heart is shy

But the blood's run dry

You've promised light

And I want to trust you

Coz I could come alive once more

I'll get my feelings to the surface somehow

And If I open up my heart to yours

I know there's no going back

Now X4

No going back

I know there's no going back

Researchers Discover Hidden "Second Brain" in the Human Body - Duration: 2:52.

Researchers Discover Hidden Second Brain in the Human Body.

Brett Tingley.

Thanks to recent advances in medical technologies, the human brain has become one of the great

frontiers of modern science.

Brain scanning devices, artificial intelligence networks, and experimental wearables are allowing

qualified scientists and amateur biohackers alike to begin tampering with the mysteries

of the human mind and unlocking hidden human cognitive potential.

We might soon find ourselves in a future where the human brain itself becomes just another

dataset to be manipulated, uploaded, and stored like any other digital data.

It turns out, though, that the human body might be home to another brain entirely,

one involved with one of the most important things we do each day.

Well, each day for many of us, anyway.

Eat your fiber, folks.

According to a press release from neuroscientists at Flinders University in Adelaide, the human

gastrointestinal tract houses a system of millions of neurons which control the rhythmic

muscle contractions which help waste travel through the digestive system.

Nick Spencer, one of the scientists behind the study of this second brain published

in The Journal of Neuroscience, says these findings identify a previously unknown pattern

of neuronal activity in the peripheral nervous system, making the gastrointestinal tract

the only internal organ with its own complete nervous system that can operate totally independently

of the brain and/or spinal cord. Spencer and his colleagues even suggesting that this

second brain might be actually the first human brain because it likely evolved before

the central nervous system.

That is, humans were able to produce bowel movements long before we were able to think

about producing bowel movements.

The enteric nervous system, as the second brain is known, has been known to science

for some time, but this study is the first to identify this neuronal activity.

While far from discovering an actual second brain, this research does reveal that there

are still far more mysteries hiding within the human body and mind than we likely realize.

What secrets will the neuroscientists of the future be able to unlock?

Jesus Christ is Your Only Answer - Geoff Thomas - Duration: 10:00.

Where will you find another Savior

like Jesus Christ?

So powerful and so loving.

So omnipotent and so sympathizing.

And I can't understand how

if you've heard about Him

and if He's nudging you now,

and He's saying to you,

it's true, you know...

what this guy with a funny accent is saying to you.

It's true. It's true.

You need a Savior.

And not just any Savior, but this Savior.

Because He is so, so great.

So great.

And without Him, there's going to be a future -

you're on your own, son.

You're on your own, girl.

As you make the big decisions in your life

about who you're going to marry,

and what you're going to do,

and how you're going to work,

and what's going to be fun...

you're on your own.

And when you get ill

and when you're lonely,

you're on your own.

And when you're dying,

if you don't take my Savior,

just you and an appalling eternity.

And this great Savior -

He's brought me here

and He's brought you here,

and we're talking about Him, aren't we?

We're just ordinary people.

We're not very beautiful people.

We're not very smart. We're not very wealthy.

All we've got to share with the world

is the Lord Jesus Christ.

And we're inconsistent.

We're sorry we're not as patient and loving

and caring as we should be.

We're sorry about that.

But we don't preach ourselves.

We're not your answer.

And all this congregation put together

with all the talents and the gifts

that they have -

they're not your answer.

This is not your answer.

He is your answer.

This wonderful Savior Jesus Christ.

And so we want you to know Him

as your Lord and Savior

by reading the Bible, listening to the preaching,

sitting under the ministry,

reading the books and the leaflets

and so on that we give you.

We want you to think about these things.

We want you to know Him

because we want you to make

an intelligent response.

You've been edified.

You've learned about Jesus Christ

from what we tell you

so that you know who He is.

Jesus is worthy of your mind,

of your intellect.

Bring your mind with you

every Sunday when you come here.

We want you to know Him.

But we want you to submit to Him.

If He's going to be your Savior,

He's also going to be your Lord.

And you can't separate the two.

You know, I marry people,

and I stand here,

and she comes down the aisle

and he's there glowing in anticipation.

And she looks so lovely.

And then I say to her at one point in the service,

"Do you take him to be your loving husband?"

"Do you take him now to be your husband?"

And she has to think...

"Well, I'll take his credit cards.

And I'll take his car,

but I don't take his dirty washing.

And I don't want to be the mother of his children."

If she said that, I would say,

right, I pronounce you man and wife.

I can't say that, can I?

Because she's going to take him as her husband.

The two are going to become one flesh.

And there's a special relationship between the two.

And so I've told you about this

wonderful Savior.

And He's a wonderful Lord too.

And if you're going to become

a follower of Jesus Christ,

He doesn't take His crown off

before He comes into your heart and life.

He comes with His crown

and His crown rights over you;

over all the big decisions that you have to make.

This Savior - He'll forgive your sins.

Isn't that wonderful?

The great chains that bind you

to your past,

and the things that make you blush

and you groan at 2:00 in the morning

as you remember the people you've hurt.

And He'll forgive you. He'll forgive you.

Yes.

But He comes as your Lord.

And you can't separate what God has joined together.

Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ.

He's here and He comes into your life

for you from now on to serve Him.

And if there are some things that are

tremendously precious to you,

your mind, your love of music and sport,

your relationships -

you can't keep them from Him.

The dearest idol you've known has to go.

You have to give it over to Jesus Christ,

this Savior who is also the Lord.

You have to hand them to Him.

And then He'll do something wonderful.

He'll give them back to you,

but no longer will they be lording it over you.

And you can have them,

but they are then in a servant's role.

So you can keep your interest in cameras

and photography,

and your interest in music and sport,

and all the things that we are interested in -

God's creation gifts.

You're not going to serve them.

You're not going to live for them.

You're going to live for Him.

This great Savior who has come into your life now

as your Lord.

And you bow to Him.

And you receive Him.

You can receive Him now where you are

just sitting and listening to me

and thinking about all I said to you

about the great Jesus Christ.

And you can think,

yeah, it's about time I stop

sitting on the fence,

and stop putting it off until another Sunday.

I'll have Him.

I must have Him.

A friend of mine was talking

to a Scottish farmer named Douglas.

Douglas didn't want to come

to evangelistic meetings.

David spoke to him and spoke to him.

Look, he said, in this hand

I've got everything that you have as a farmer,

and as a highland wrestler,

and as a good Scotsman -

your health and strength

and all your future - it's there.

And in this hand,

I have Jesus Christ.

Which one are you going to take?

It's the same decision that faces you this morning.

Are you going to have

all that this world has to offer?

Is it: I want that.

Or are you going to take

this great, sympathetic, divine,

tender, loving, Savior Jesus Christ

for now and forever.

Which one?

Which one are you going to have?

Which one?

You've got to choose.

You must choose.

He says He's your God.

He's your God. He's your Lord.

Which one are you going to choose?

How to Protect Your Energy If You're Feeling Extra Sensitive During This Shif - Duration: 4:35.

How to Protect Your Energy If Youre Feeling Extra Sensitive During This Shift.

Whenever you go through a period of change or whenever there are lots of planetary shifts,

it is natural to feel extra sensitive.

If you are already highly sensitive or an empath, this can land you in a very overwhelming

place!

If you find yourself feeling anxious around others or overwhelmed in public places for

no apparent reason, its likely you are picking up every bit of energy from all around

you.

This is no fun and can cause you to feel very depleted and overcome with emotion.

While visualizing yourself in a white light is one the best and fastest ways to protect

your energy, here are some other action-based steps you can take when you are feeling extra

sensitive-

1.)

BE MINDFUL OF WHO YOU SPEND TIME WITH When you are feeling extra sensitive it is

really important to get comfortable with saying no to people or situations that are going

to drain your energy or make you feel even more overwhelmed.

Perhaps when you are feeling at the top of your game you can handle anything and anyone,

but at other times, you have to be ok with saying no and really thinking consciously

about who you are choosing to spend your time with.

In this case, self-care is really about not putting yourself in situations and around

people who are going to make you feel more overwhelmed or more emotional.

2.)

PROTECT YOUR HEART CHAKRA Your heart chakra is where we make meaningful

connections with others.

When you are feeling extra sensitive or emotional, it can cause your heart chakra energy to swing

out of balance.

This is something that usually corrects itself in time, but protecting your heart chakra

is a great way to support yourself in the meantime.

To protect your heart chakra, consider wearing a necklace that reaches your heart center

with a protective stone, crystal or amulet of some kind.

The most important thing is that the necklace has meaning for you.

Before wearing the necklace, hold the pendant in your hands and set an intention that it

is going to protect you, help you keep your heart open to the good, and clear any negative

energy that is not yours to carry.

3.)

GET OUT IN NATURE Living in a bustling city or being around

a stressful environment of any kind can drain and deplete your energy, especially when you

are feeling extra sensitive.

To counteract this, getting out in nature is the perfect remedy.

Try to go somewhere that is peaceful and quiet, so you can really soak up the wonderful energy

of nature.

Nature has a very balancing effect on the human spirit, which is why it is so powerful.

Make it a point to really open your senses and immerse yourself in the experience.

If you dont have much time and want a quick boost, find a tree and place your hands on

its trunk.

While touching the tree, close your eyes and ask for Mother Nature to replenish and repair

your energy.

Give thanks to the tree and Mother Nature once you are done.

4.)

RECITE A MANTRA OR HUM A TUNE When you are out in public and suddenly feel

really overwhelmed with energy or a bit anxious, the best way to distract yourself is to recite

a mantra or hum a tune to your favorite song.

This is simple and easy to do and will help to direct your energy inwards rather than

outwards like a magnet.

Here are some suggestions for mantras you can use:

I am strong and confident in myself.

I am protected.

I am safe.

I am only attracting joy.

I feel clear.

I feel light.

Everything is alright.

I am at peace.

Everything is perfect.

I am doing just fine.

I am secure.

A shield of white light protects me.

These suggestions are simple but can help you to feel a little more secure and centered

when you are in a highly sensitive space.

What Really Happened To Gene Hackman? - Duration: 4:16.

For nearly five decades, Gene Hackman was a staple of American cinema.

During that time, the San Bernardino-born actor won four Golden Globes, two BAFTAs,

and two Academy Awards while starring in classic films like Hoosiers, Unforgiven, and Get Shorty,

to name just a very few.

Since the early 2000s, however, we haven't seen or heard much from the accomplished actor

and all-American tough guy.

So what's Hackman been up to?

Retired

First and foremost, Hackman is retired — which explains why we haven't seen much of the guy

lately.

His last role was in the 2004 romantic comedy Welcome to Mooseport, in which he acted alongside

sitcom star Ray Romano.

After that, Hackman called it quits, but he didn't really make a big deal out of it.

He told Reuters,

"I'm not going to act any longer.

I've been told not to say that over the last few years, in case some real wonderful part

comes up, but I really don't want to do it any longer."

"Absolutely and without discussion!"

Novelist

Just because Hackman retired from acting doesn't mean he's not working.

In fact, he's actually penned quite a few novels.

In addition to co-writing three works of historical fiction, Hackman has also released two solo

efforts: Old West revenge story Payback at Morning Peak and police thriller Pursuit.

These days, Hackman greatly prefers writing to acting.

He told Reuters,

"I like the loneliness of it, actually.

It's similar in some ways to acting, but it's more private, and I feel like I have more

control over what I'm trying to say and do."

Painter

In addition to acting and writing novels, Hackman's other artistic pursuits include

painting — and he's pretty darn good at it.

The accomplished actor actually studied art at the Art Students League of New York as

a young man.

"I thought maybe I could feed myself as an artist while I was waiting to be an actor"

"I'm doing something almost all the time, drawing or painting."

He's been creating art ever since, but rarely shows what he calls his, quote, "unshowable"

work to the public.

He has, however, donated some artwork to charitable causes.

No grandpa roles

There's one pretty big reason why we'll likely never see Hackman come out of retirement for

another big-screen role: the aging actor simply isn't interested in playing older characters.

According to ContactMusic, Hackman said,

"At my age, they would have me playing grandfathers and great grandfathers.

That's not a heck of a lot of fun."

Nobody puts Hackman in a box.

Behind the scenes

Perhaps the main reason Hackman is happy to be done with showbiz is that he really doesn't

miss all of the behind-the-scenes nonsense that comes with the job.

He told ContactMusic,

"I don't miss the business.

I miss the process of being on-set with actors when things get cooking.

But there's so much crapola in order to get there.

It's just too painful."

When you've accomplished all that Hackman has, there's really no reason to take anyone

else's "crapola."

"If he doesn't like it, then that's his problem."

An important narration

Although Hackman doesn't lend his physical presence to the screen anymore, he's not afraid

to lend his voice to worthwhile projects.

Hackman sort of came back from retirement to narrate 2016's The Unknown Flag Raiser

of Iwo Jima, a one-hour documentary aiming to correct the misidentification of one soldier

in Joe Rosenthal's famous World War 2 photograph.

"The picture conceals an extraordinary case of mistaken identity."

Hackman himself dropped out of high school at the age of 16 to enlist in the Marine Corps,

where he served as a field radio operator for over four years.

"He's a ballsy little bastard isn't he?"

Will he act again?

Well, probably not.

Hackman seems quite satisfied with the arc of his award-filled career.

Speaking of which, the actor seems to have distanced himself so much from that part of

his life, he may not even know where his awards are.

He told GQ,

"I don't have any memorabilia around the house.

There isn't any movie stuff except a poster downstairs next to the pool table of Errol

Flynn from Dawn Patrol.

I'm not a sentimental guy."

Still, there is one role that could possibly entice Hackman out of retirement.

He explained,

"I like Edmond in The Count of Monte Cristo.

[...] Having been able to keep that terrible vengeance in his soul for so many years and

then carrying out what he thought were justified events in the end.

I like that as a novel."

-I'm sorry. -I think you should find a closer place.

I've been looking around, but...

-Sorry, I came empty-handed. -Don't worry. I asked you on short notice.

Your kids don't make a mess, huh.

-I've disciplined them to clear up after they're done. -I see.

-I made them, try it. -Stick!

-I'll give it to you at home. -Stick!

Stic...

-I'm sorry! -It's okay. Don't worry.

Say you're sorry.

Rena!

I'm sorry.

Maybe because she doesn't have a father.

How should I discipline...

You need to use some force.

Like flicking the forehead.

Flicking?

Rena, why can't you clean up?!

Did it hurt?

I'm sorry.

But...

it's for your own good.

Summer of 2007 Rena.

Mama! Mama!

Hug me with a gyu !

I fixed my hair by myself.

Good job!

What's wrong, mama?

Look.

Seashell? Did it come all the way here?

Shh.

Hear anything?

-The sound of waves. -Yeah.

-It feels like we're at the beach. -Yeah.

Wanna go to the beach?

Port Tomo?

Somewhere much farther away.

Mama...

Rena.

Let me in.

Rena.

I think she's panicking.

-Give her some time... -Don't say it like you know us!

She doesn't...

She doesn't like this kinda thing!

Rena.

I'll make you some stick donuts.

Tsugumi.

It's snowing a lot here and we're busy with shoveling snow. How is the weather over there? Take care.

There you go.

She sends me a card every year.

Did she ever call you for help?

She is a fighter, you know.

Mama. Hey, mama.

Even though the teacher said we can't use the bathroom for grown-ups, Koki still used it.

I'm typing an important mail. Don't talk to me.

Because that toilet is too big for him, he got stuck in it.

I told you not to talk to me!

If you won't listen to me, I'll leave you.

Fine!

Everybody's coming, but you can't, right?

It's all right.

Let's have lunch some other time. Bye.

Hey!

Is it okay if I come late?

Go to sleep. Close your eyes.

Mama, will you braid my hair?

Why?

It's time to go to bed.

So that my hair will be curly in the morning.

-You'll go to bed if I do? -Yup.

Turn around.

-Ouch... -Don't move.

Damn it.

Mama, I'm feeling sick.

We are leaving.

Mama, don't be sad.

-Mama, don't be... -Shut up!

Did it hurt?

Come here.

It's okay.

Hug me with a gyu.

Let's go to the beach next Sunday.

Your dad and I used to come here.

-Before he went to heaven? -Yeah.

He wouldn't eat the broccoli in stews, so he made me eat them.

He's like a small child.

Yeah, he was.

I wonder if he's still a picky eater in heaven.

He was a gentleman.

When we were walking down the stairs, he would hold my hand.

Dad was a gentleman, huh.

Let's find some seashells.

Found any seashells?

Hop on.

Hello.

Beer.

Okay.

Where is...

Where is this ocean?

Rena.

You know what,

I brought this for you.

Cream soda.

The back seat of a bicycle.

Double ponytails.

Just like mine.

I like them, too.

Since you are my daughter,

we like similar things.

You know,

Mama.

-Only this one isn't an actual photo. -Maybe she had too much fun to take one.

Rena and I went to the beach. Rena loved it there.

Summer of 2008.

Summer vacation?

For free?

For a whole week, too.

That's fantastic!

I'll pay for Rena.

Are we bringing her along?

Rena.

I'll get you one, so stay home with it.

Yay!

Mama.

How are you doing?

Good. How about you?

Good.

Suzu's fine too.

Suzu?

A name I gave the hamster.

I see.

Mama, is the beach beautiful?

Yes, very much.

I did snorkeling.

Snorkeling?

I dived into the ocean to see fishes.

What kinds of fish?

Blue colored ones.

Blue?

I didn't know there are such kinds.

Tell me more about the fishes when you come back.

Okay.

Mama.

What is it?

Is it fun there?

Yeah.

It is.

That's good.

-What did you do today? -I chatted with Suzu a lot.

She stuffs sunflower seeds into her mouth.

Her cheeks get puffy.

I see.

I also tried to follow what you're doing.

-What I'm doing? -Yeah.

I'm at the beach with you.

I'm listening to the sound of waves like you.

Rena.

Yeah?

I'm...

I'm...

having a really great time.

I'm having so much fun and it makes me happy.

Okay.

I'm happy for you, mama.

Do you love me?

Yup, I do.

You're happy when I'm happy, right?

Yeah, I am.

I'll call you again.

Tomorrow?

Yeah, tomorrow.

Good night.

Winter of 2009

-Hello! -Hello.

Where's Rena?

Rena?

Rena?

Rena?

Rena?

Why are you in here?

Why is she in here?

Hey!

Is there a problem?

There isn't.

I just asked.

Wanna eat dinner?

I think she sprained her finger.

How did it happen?

Um...

The slide.

You fell off?

Please wait a little longer.

Be careful with the slide.

Let's go buy a scarf on the way home.

Okay.

I wanna find a light blue one.

Your neighbors are concerned.

Please give us a call if there's anything.

If they hurt you, go to the police...

We're leaving.

Why did they call the police?

They have nothing better to do.

-What did they mean by "if there's anything"? -I don't know.

-Don't bring your pet in here. -Who is that man?

-Pardon? -He didn't answer any questions.

-Did you talk to him? -Your daughter isn't nice either.

Maybe because she's raised by a mother like you.

Why? Why did you do that?

-I'm president of the community... -You know nothing about us!

We were right to scare him like that.

He looked like he was about to cry.

He did.

Rena!

Mama.

Welcome back.

I'm back...

-There. Your turn. -Okay.

Playing cards?

Yup.

Your neck...

-What's this? -Your turn.

-Okay. -Masato, what did you do?

I made her faint earlier.

Fa... faint?

-What do you mean by... -I woke her up right away.

-You are fine, right? -Yup.

Got it. There.

Your turn. Dear Katsuko

I can't keep going like this.

What is it?

I need to pee.

Help me.

Help me...

mama.

-Dinner was good. -Yeah.

It's so cold.

It's so cold.

Watch your step.

The dessert was good, too.

Everyone in.

Winter of 2010 I'm home.

Welcome back.

Hello, Mr. Muragami.

I'm back, Suzu.

Rena.

Rena.

When did I get you that coat?

-When I was five. -Isn't it too small?

No.

Okay.

See you later.

Why do parents abuse their children? We ask the public for their opinions.

Abusive mothers? They're inhuman.

How can they abuse their children?

I can never understand them.

Clouds in the night sky

You know,

mama?

What is it?

Rena has gone to heaven.

Rena doesn't exist anymore.

She went to heaven.

What are you saying?

You are Rena.

You're here right now.

My name is Tsugumi.

Suzuhara Tsugumi.

I live here with my mom.

Rena.

You love me, don't you?

Why didn't you write about me?

-Mama... -You love me, don't you?

You don't like me anymore?

Mama.

I don't like you or dislike you.

Because...

you are not my mama anymore.

Mom.

You don't need to smile.

It's okay to cry.

It's okay to cry.

Tsugumi.

Miss Michiki.

That girl has no future.

What you're doing to her is also an abuse.

You know...

I can't go to the police.

I'm ready to accept punishment.

Once the police find out about us,

I'll be ready to face the law.

Then...

Just that...

I need to say something to you.

I don't know what happened between the two of you and why she had to be abused.

Even if there are hundreds of reasons,

they are equally right and wrong.

A mother and her child swims in a river mixed with both warm and cold water.

There's no line between hugging and hurting.

There's no mother who has never gotten tired of their children,

or has never thought of slapping their children.

People who condemn those mothers, drive them from the banks of that river into a deep corner,

drowning them in the process.

That's right.

-Those people are always... -Still,

I don't understand you.

You almost killed her!

Try to remember.

On that winter night in Muroran,

you stuffed her into a garbage bag and dumped her.

Remember it.

You never thought what would have happened if she was there all night?

If you close your eyes on your child, they will disappear.

It's because you're watching them, that's why they're alive and well.

The moment you look away, they will die.

-Children cannot hate their parents... -What do you know?

You're not taking Rena back?

Are you leaving her?

What,

you've gotten tired of her?

I love her.

Then...

However...

Still...

You're the one who gave birth to her.

She's a warmhearted little girl who was raised by you.

If...

If living with her birth mother means true happiness to her,

I will...

I will return her to you.

If you still care about her.

If you'll still hug her and love her from the bottom of your heart,

I'm willing to accept punishment.

I will pray for...

Michiki Rena's happiness.

It's too late now.

She doesn't love me anymore...

I will talk to her.

She might get confused,

or be hurt, and it might take some time, but...

no matter how long it would take,

if you even try...

to regain her trust, little by little...

That's enough!

She told me she doesn't love me.

To me, she's...

as good as dead.

She's dead.

I'll become her mother!

I'll become her mother.

Can I borrow some money? I wanna go back to Muroran.

-You're not taking your daughter... -I don't have a daughter!

-Is it warm enough to swim in Okinawa? -Wait here.

Guess she still looks away from reality.

This is Suzuhara.

Is Keigo there?

He's not home.

Ma'am, I...

Tsugumi's mother has gone back to Muroran.

I see.

Why don't we ask Nao to come back here...

Where is Nao?

She's at some barbershop.

It's not that she's left this place.

She's gone back to her real home.

Forging your medical record to buy life insurance is a crime.

Yes, I understand.

What's your real intention in cashing in on your own life?

There's something I want to leave behind,

and something I want to take along with me.

You'll achieve so many things...

from now on.

You'll become a third grader, then a forth grader...

Then a fifth grader, and a six grader.

You'll go to a junior high school, then a high school.

You'll dream your future,

and find a job you want.

And fall in love with somebody,

and get married.

Will I get married?

You might become a mother, too.

That's exciting!

I think that'll be the time...

when I have to say good bye to you.

I don't wanna be apart from you.

It will be way ahead into the future.

A day after tomorrow, after tomorrow...

A day after tomorrow, after tomorrow...

A day after tomorrow, after tomorrow...

A day after tomorrow, after tomorrow...

Way ahead into the future.

Until then,

I'll never let go of you.

We'll live together.

Okay?

Okay.

Are you Miss Michiki Hitomi?

We've been waiting for your return.

We have some questions regarding Rena. Will you come to the station with us?

We have reasons to suspect you.

You want to clear your name, right?

Rena is...

not dead.

She was kidnapped.

Please forgive me.

I can't keep staying quiet.

Is she ill?

Are we going to Izu without telling the school?

Will you withdraw your criminal complaint from the police?
