Waching daily Jun 20 2018

My teacher got wind that I was pregnant

and told me to leave school.

Because I would infect my classmates

with my bad character.

The men knew I was a child, but they didn't care.

They bought me anyway.

One day, I had a headache.

He gave me two pills.

I woke up and found myself violated.

My family forced me to marry him to save the family honor.

I had a ceremony.

I didn't understand what it was, but I knew it hurt.

After female genital mutilation, they give you a new dress.

The color cloth you wear goes from purple to red.

My culture encouraged it.

My government let it happen.

They do not see you as human.

They do not see that I have rights.

And I deserve justice.

My battle continues.

I will not give up.

To make change, we must resist together.

Hawa, Sierra Leone.

Rebecca, the UK.

Martha, Tanzania.

Nor, from Jordan.

Brisa, Bolivia.

Adama, the United States.

This is not fiction.

This is not the Handmaid's Tale.

These are the real stories of real women.

They are the real network on the ground.

Join them.

Signs an INTP Likes or is Attracted to You, 10 Things that Matter - Duration: 5:54.

INTP personality type are a highly rational and fiercely independent person.

Being nicknamed as The logicians, INTPs are pretty rare personality out of 16 MBTI personality

types, and they are very unique people indeed.

Among other of their traits, it is worth noting that they are also attracted to others just

like other human being.

While INTPs are known as truth seeker who wish to uncover the underlying universal law

behind everything they encounter, and despite their character who value logical thinking

more than emotion, doesn't mean that they don't have any emotion.

It's just that they place their emotions at a lower priority than rational thought.

That's why it will be a little bit tricky to discover whether if an INTP personality

type likes you or not.

If you have a feeling for an INTP, and you are wondering whether he, or she also has

the same feeling for you, here are a list of signs an INTP guy or girl might be interested

or trying to flirt with you.

Please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until the end to know the complete

information.

Signs an INTP Likes or is Attracted to You, 10 Things that Matter.

#1 - INTP tries to impress you

Yes, anyone who wants to attract somebody else will try to impress that person by doing

some things.

INTP is also the same.

They try to do weird movements while explaining about scientific reason behind it.

#2 - Eye contact

It is worth noting that INTPs do not like looking at people.

When they do, there should be some sort of interest going on.

#3 - Extreme expression

Sometimes INTPs just cannot control their emotion, and they just start to express exaggerated

emotion.

#4 - Flirting with Pun

INTPs are actually not really good with pun.

They have preference to dark humor but still avoid rude humor.

They try to be cheeky when throwing the jokes, and it is signs that they are trying to flirt.

#5 - Pretentious

Sometimes, INTPs just do not want to show that they like you.

The reason is because INTPs are usually happy just by imagining the possible relationship

with other person.

Additionally, it is also self-defense mechanism of extreme anxiety and happiness.

#6 - Ask a lot

INTPs actually cannot do small talk, but they just have to do that for the sake of a significant

one.

#7 - Good memory

Just like many other people, INTPs try the best to remember details about someone they

like.

This allows the INTPs to make others feel respected and special.

However, it also can be a bummer for them too.

#8 - Subtle hints

There are so many other small things that INTPs will do such as being clumsy, cool,

and shy.

#9 - Responsive

INTPs usually think more before they talk, chat, or anything.

However, when it comes to someone they like, they will be super quick in responding.

Their feelings move them .

#10 - INTP pretends they dislike you.

This is not so much a visible sign but rather a confounding and self-sabotaging defense

mechanism INTP deploys, probably out of fear of rejection.

INTPs are generally very nice people and if they seem like they don't like you, it could

be that they genuinely don't or… that they're trying to conceal their feelings

for you with a very calculated poker face.

INTPs may try to mask their feelings with Reaction Formation – a defense mechanism

whereby they deliberately adopt an attitude and behavior that belie what they actually

feel.

They may not go so far as to be rude or mean in any way, but they may behave really standoffish

or act a bit arrogant around someone they actually like, to counteract the anxiety and

butterflies they feel.

Well, those are some signs an INTP Likes or is Attracted to You.

So, Really cool information isn't it?

ONDOhandcrafts #1 About me. - Duration: 8:27.

Hi everyone, welcome to ONDOhandcrafts' podcast.

I'm Vivian.

This podcast is all about knit, crochet and relative things.

In episode 1,

I'd like to talk about myself,

my crochet history

and why doing this podcast.

Hope you will like it.

Ok, who am I?

I'm Vivian. Now I'm a full-time handcrafts teacher.

My teaching is including:

crochet, hand crochet/knit, and macrame.

I also accept small quantity of custom orders.

I first experienced crochet was about 7 years ago, right after I finished the last job.

At the time, I planned to get fully rest.

But I didn't want to hanging around, cause it's wasting my time.

So I started to join different kinds of handcraft classes.

Crochet is the hobby I developed at that time.

Why crochet teaching will end up be my job?

Originally my lifelong plan was totally nothing to do with crochet nor knit.

But, after we adopted our second cat ErMao 3 years ago,

The great career of my silver jewellry, which just started, has been slowly replaced by this crochet business.

has unexpectedly been slowly replaced by this crochet business.

ErMao is a very cute old orange cat.

Yes, she looks exactly like "Puss in Boots" in Shrek.

Unfortunately their personality are totally opposite.

Cause she's terribly scared of human.

To help her quickly fit into our family life,

I started to make crochet toys for her to play.

For example, this one.

This kind of crochet ball.

She loves it very much.

And then, because of this,

I oddly from make crochet cat toys, to simply share it,

then end up the crochet teaching replaced all my work.

This is the result I never thought in the beginning.

Fortunately the brand name I used at the time is

"wen du shou zuo" in Chinese,

"ONDOhandcrafts" in English.

This name is quite neutral.

Even when I moved from Silver jewellry to crochet work,

it looks quite ok,

cause they both are handcrafts.

The story of this name was came from an autumn,

when I sat on the window seat in a bus,

the sun shines on me through the glass window and it made me feel so warm.

In that moment, the words "wen du" appeared in my mind.

I think these two words are perfectly represents my feelings to handcrafts.

Cause I always think whatever handcrafts I do,

I want to pass the enthusiastic and love of handcrafts through my work

to people who buy or use my work and my students.

I hope they can feel my thoughts.

I also found out the pronunciation of "wen du" in both Japanese and Korean are "on do".

English spelling are "o-n-d-o", too.

Even the pronunciation of Taiwanese "un-tōo" are so similar to them.

So I know this is my brand name.

"wen du should zuo", "ONDOhandcrafts.

The reason why I want to do this podcast is, in last winter (2017),

I found that I can't use crochet to do some patterns I really want.

So I think I should learn more about knitting.

Fortunately, the Internet is full of resources now.

You can find all the information simply just google it.

So I start to learn knitting myself by watching youtube videos.

However, after I learnt knitting basics and got the trick to manage my yarn and needles,

I feel those "step by step" tutorials repeat too frequently to me.

Because they're just like a tool,

you can find it again when you need it.

So, it's not necessarily to have so many versions.

At that time, I found a type of podcasts are also talking about knitting/crochet/weaving etc.

The biggest different between these podcasts and the "step by step" tutorials is,

the podcasters are sharing their work in progress,

yarns they are using, their stash, tools,

maybe recommend of the books they just bought, magazines, events they've been to, etc.

These contents are benefit me so much.

Cause I can learn what's popular in the world right now,

what people are doing right now.

This is very interesting.

But I haven't see any of the Chinese speaking podcaster is doing this kind of contents.

Maybe there is, but I haven't see any yet.

That's why I'm thinking maybe I should try to do this kind of podcast,

to share the knowledge and information I got with everyone.

Certainly, I think Taiwanese have good English ability.

You can totally understand, if you willing to be patient to watch those English speaking podcasts.

They also have subtitles and you can use it, too.

But, if I'm a office worker or a house wife,

after a busy day back home,

and you ask me to watch podcasts with foreign language only,

sometimes they might speak very fast and will have to think for a while, it's too much hustles.

In my opinion,

when I was learning knitting,

if there is a Chinese speaking tutorial, I'll choose it first than other languages.

I won't watch English version in the first place.

And that makes me more determined that I should try to do this podcast.

Not because we can't understand English, but,

if you ask me, I won't bother to watch English version in advance.

If I can provide Chinese contents,

perhaps, …maybe, can be quite convenient for everybody.

So...,

I'm not sure if people will like this, and, I'm wondering if I can make as many episodes as other podcasters.

Like them made over 100 or even 200 more episodes.

I hope I can do that too.

I'd also like to introduce what people are working on in the knitting/crochet or other relative areas from Taiwan.

Finally, I'd like to talk my plans about this podcast.

I hope I can make at least 1 video per month.

If my classes are not so busy

or my personal knitting projects are on schedule,

I'll try to make 2 videos per month. But, no guarantee though.

Another thing is, please leave message below after you finish watching this video.

Please do let me know if there's anything I need to improve,

or anything you'd like to see in the future episodes.

If you like this video, please give me a thumb up,

and please subscribe my podcast.

So you'll receive the notification of my new episodes.

If you're interested in follow my latest status,

the most frequently updates are on my Instagram at the moment.

I'll put all my links below under this video.

You can follow me via these links.

Then, see you in next episode.

Thank you for watching today's episode, Bye bye!

(The trio got permission easily)

(However!)

(Nothing is easy to get)

(The charisma of the mainlander)

(What will the destiny of the trio be?)

How do you always have miracles follow you?

To "Miraculous Encounters."

To "Miraculous Encounters."

- They saw him on "Love Letter." / - Love it!

"Love Letter!"

So I'll tell you when we go home.

Answer them at home.

(He's a genius at times like this)

Maybe... Bae Seulgi?

- Bae Seulgi? / - Bae Seulgi?

Bae Seulgi! She knows Bae Seulgi!

(The mother of Korean retro dance)

(Totally into it)

How do you know "Love Letter?"

Broadcasting station.

(Hani and Joy work at a broadcasting station)

Variety shows? What?

(What do Joy and Hani do at work?)

- Like "Entertainment Weekly?" / - Must be.

- Then... / - So how do you feel...

That you're in Shanghai?

I feel great.

It started raining all of a sudden.

So I got all wet.

My shoes are wet, and my clothes...

Can I watch the program Hani came out on?

Song Hyekyo...

- You interviewed her? / - Yes.

- Really? / - Yes.

Wait a minute.

She interviewed many Korean stars.

This is the one about Song Hyekyo.

(A clip of her work)

- Oh, like that? / - Yes, yes.

- A short section. / - Like celebrity news and stuff.

(Proven themselves as entertainment news reporters)

(It has become dinner time)

Do you know "xiao long xia?"

"Xiao long xia?" Do you know "drayfish?"

No.

"Drayfish?"

- I don't. / - "Drayfish?"

- Oh! You mean spicy crayfish? / - Yes, yes!

(Spicy crayfish?)

- The tasty dish! / - That's very famous.

- Really? / - That's a must-eat in China.

Shall we go have that?

(Let's taste the best dish of China!)

Xiao long xia.

We get to eat that.

- Is it something famous? / - Of course.

- We decided to have xiao long xia. / - Okay.

- Let's go. / - Good.

- I'm hungry. / - Let's go.

- Let's go. / - I'm hungry.

(The darker the night gets, the brighter the city gets)

(Oriental Pearl Tower)

(Bright buildings that light up the night of Shanghai)

(People enjoy their time under the lights)

(What are the trio and the friends doing?)

(They've arrived at a famous xiao long xia restaurant)

- It's here? / - Here.

- It's here? / - Is it here?

Xiao long xia.

There are too many people.

It's full.

They all look the same.

(Main ingredient of xiao long xia, crayfish)

If Korea has "chimaek,"

China has "xiamaek."

You have beer with xiao long xia.

Crayfish with beer... "Craymaek."

(Xiao long xia, refers to crayfish)

(The most popular dish in China)

(Shanghai has a xiao long xia street)

(In 2016 alone, 88 tons were consumed in China)

(Various flavors can be made with different sauces)

(Garlic xiao long xia)

(Mala xiao long xia)

How do you eat this?

(How do you eat xiao long xia?)

Like this.

(1. Take off the crayfish head)

(2. Peel the body shell)

(Moist meat comes out easily)

- This? / - Yes.

Dip this in the sauce?

Oh, it's this small?

- I thought it was going to be big. / - Me too.

(Small crayfish are spicy!)

(Sangmin, an epicure)

(Hyeonkyeong, an actress)

(Jongmin, a lover of noodles)

(What do the trio think about the dish?)

It's so good!

It's delicious!

Tasty!

(Exclamations come out automatically)

(The taste of crayfish calls for beer)

- Cheers! / - Cheers!

Tasty.

It's got a strong garlic smell.

(Garlic xiao long xia tastes delicious)

But this is the real one.

This is the real one originally.

This spicy one.

(Mala xiao long xia that boasts delicious spiciness)

Shall we try it?

(Nom, nom)

(Jongmin has tasted mala xiao long xia)

(That's known to be addicting to many)

(Slow down)

The sauce is really tasty,

but there isn't much to eat.

(There isn't much meat to eat compared to its size)

(Eating nonstop)

I'll just have it my style.

What that means is that...

I take off the head and...

(How are you planning on eating?)

I just have it after I take off the head.

No.

I just have it after I take off the head.

(Shocked)

The shell's probably really hard.

It's not.

(It's cooked right enough to be eaten)

That's actually Chinese style.

I find the shells tasty.

So I don't see why I need to put in effort

to take off the shells.

- Oh, you really like the shells? / - Yes.

(This is what I'm talking about)

(Sangmin has found his way of eating)

Oh, this spicy flavor...

I really like it that I want to find the recipe for it.

Nice, right?

Wow, this xiao long xia... It's so good.

It's quite spicy.

I'm loving it.

This is addicting.

- It's addicting. / - Yeah, it's an addicting flavor.

Sangmin X Jongmin have fallen in love with Chinese tea♥ [One Night Sleepover Trip/ 2018.06.19] - Duration: 17:07.

(One Night Sleepover Trip's 5th country, China)

(A city where refine modernism)

(And historical traditions coexist, Shanghai)

(What special relationship will they find today?)

(Starting off with hearts filled with excitement)

It's raining too much.

Is this a storm?

(Due to a sudden downpour)

(The One Night Sleepover Trip crew is tied down)

It's raining really hard.

What do we do?

This is really serious.

The weather's not on our side.

(Feeling so lost)

It's raining really hard.

This is the first time it's raining on our show.

- Really? / - This never happened.

(The production crew is lost as well)

This is a big problem.

We'll have to try even if it's raining.

(Even rain can't stop us!)

What would you like to do?

Well, first...

There's a tea shop across the street.

Let's go to the tea shop

to find a shelter from the rain first.

Okay, okay.

(But they hesitate to make their way across)

No, we don't have time.

Let's go. The cameras are the problem.

The cameras are all getting wet.

Let me stand outside for a minute

to see how bad it is.

Huh?

I'm going to cover my shoes.

(Because my babies are precious)

He's ready for anything.

(Taking the lead)

Can we continue shooting like this?

Sangmin, we can't do this.

- We can't. / - I can't hear you.

(Can't even communicate)

I think we need to go back to Chenle's place.

(No need to hear)

This isn't going to work.

I think it's a sand rain.

(Instead of lensless glasses)

This is the worst downpour this year.

(He'll need swimming goggles)

The cameras are alright.

The cameras are alright?

Let's go then. Let's go.

Let's go. Let's go.

- Sangmin. / - Yeah?

We're all wet.

- Who'd invite us over? / - You might be right.

- We're all wet. / - Yes.

(Cough, cough)

(Stay strong, Jongmin)

What's happening?

Look at that water!

This is the worst!

This is a big problem.

- We're all wet. / - It's more serious here.

So wet.

- It's like a waterfall here. / - How do we even ask?

It's a waterfall here.

(Ah...)

(Are they a raincoat trio?)

It's hard to go in anywhere like this.

This is serious.

- Is it here? / - It's serious. It's here.

Let's buy some tea here first.

Hello.

- Hello. / - They sell flower teas.

We enjoyed really delicious tea

at Chenle's place, right?

(Tea that Chenle's family had prepared for the trio)

Longjing.

(One of the 10 renowned teas of China, Longjing tea)

- Good. / - Good.

Very good.

(The trio has fallen in love with Chinese tea)

(What tea will suit the special occasion of this trip?)

What kind of tea are you looking for?

(What tea caught Jongmin's attention?)

Wow. The color's beautiful.

Confederate rose tea. Confederate rose.

- Confederate rose? / - It's the name of the flower.

That flower opens up.

It stopped right before blooming?

It opens up when it's submerged in water.

(Confederate rose tea is great for relieving stress)

Oh, sunflower seeds.

- Do you know them? / - Yes, I do.

These are sunflower seeds.

(Great size of sunflower seeds of Great China)

Can I try this?

Sure.

Let's try one.

(What do Chinese sunflower seeds taste like?)

It's good.

(Jongmin's sunflower seed husking)

(The spirit of a hamster taking over Jongmin)

(Nom, nom)

Are you hungry?

Are you?

(Nod, nod)

(I can have two million of these sunflowers seeds)

He's enjoying them.

(He's eating a lot)

We'll have to buy a bag of that.

- This? For snack? / - Yes.

(Sunflower seeds added to the gift bag)

Shall we pay now?

$57.

(The weather is still crazy)

So what do we have to do from here?

Yeah, we'll have to go in somewhere.

I don't see how we can solve this.

What do we do then?

We'll have to come up with a plan.

(Jongmin's radar is on)

(Spotted the generous-looking shop owner)

(Shall I try asking him?)

Excuse me.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

Excuse me.

(At his baby smile)

(She gets more courage)

You didn't take your day off for Labor Day

or go visit your hometown.

It's high season for me.

There are guests, so I keep the store open.

How many do you have in your family?

How many do you have in your family?

Four people.

(What kind of family members would they be?)

(Curious)

We're shooting for a variety show to be aired on KBS.

Could you let us sleep over a night?

(What would the answer of the kind store owner be?)

Shanghai is a big city.

So, to learn China's traditional culture,

it would be better to go to a different region.

(Thank you for your kind concern)

I see.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I hope you make great sales. Thank you.

Thank you.

(I hope you find great friends)

Well, it's raining a lot less now.

We got all wet within a few seconds.

Yes, me too.

It didn't rain a single drop while I was here.

- Yeah, just like that... / - And it had to rain...

Just when we're about to try.

We never imagined that this would happen.

Is this a Chinese restaurant?

Oh, is this where they do that burning noodles?

- What was it? Flaming noodles? / - What's this?

Isn't that Chinese noodle soup with beef?

(Everyone's getting excited)

Mr. Kim Jong-noodle...

(Mr. Kim Jong-noodle in Shanghai)

(People are coming out on to the street)

They're still riding their bicycles even in the rain.

(Cough)

- Motorcycles. / - No, I think they...

Were hiding from rain somewhere...

- And came out now that it has stopped. / - Right.

Their clothes aren't wet.

(Going around in rain would be stranger)

How amazing.

Amazing.

Look at those ducks!

This must be a famous restaurant!

Wow, gosh.

Yeah, they do it for you right on spot.

Peking duck!

Oh, I want to try it.

(Pie in the sky, hungry, sad)

(I'm sorry I can't buy it for you)

(It's alright)

It's like one of those fried chicken shops

in the neighborhood.

This is what we should be having.

Oil has been well-drained.

Just like a street shop...

(Can't move on...)

(Desperately)

(Craving)

Let's go.

(Don't look back, if we look back, we lose)

(We'll be back for sure to have it with special friends)

Laundry water?

Why is it flowing out on to the street?

Here?

(Not laundry water, rainwater, flooding)

Can we cross this?

What do we do?

(Let's see)

Jongmin.

Jongmin.

(Surprised)

Pick her up.

No!

What are you waiting for?

I'm heavy. You can't carry me.

(The weight of an actress is a secret?)

No, this isn't going to work.

(You've got a long way to go)

You've got to do it like this.

(Excuse me)

(This is the charisma of the 40s)

(Sorry I couldn't buy you the duck)

Oh, my heart.

(Sangmin's legs are shaking)

What about me?

(Jongmin's left all alone)

(Oh, what a strange guy)

Jongmin, no, no.

You're too heavy.

So awesome.

You are too heavy.

That's what you should have done!

Oh, my heart.

Something's weird between you two.

Hello.

Is something going on?

My heart thumped.

I had to carry her as an older brother.

(Because I couldn't buy her Peking duck)

How could you not even do that for me?

I was eating sunflower seeds...

This area has a nice atmosphere.

This area is...

(Hyeonkyeong's "Dictionary of Various Knowledge")

Like a French village.

During the colonial period...

The French had colonized this area.

(French concession in Shanghai)

(Area where French people lived and exercised)

(Extraterritoriality during the French colonial period)

That's why the area looks a little...

- Antique and European. / - Right. It's a lot French.

- Hey, fruits. / - Yeah, fruits.

Let's buy some fruits.

(Colorful fresh fruits)

(What kind of fruit would their special friends like?)

Hello.

Let's buy a durian.

- We'll take the most expensive one. / - Okay.

Because price matches the taste.

Shall we get a pineapple too?

They'll peel it for us.

Are you the owner?

Yes, I am.

Can you peel one for us?

Can you peel one for us?

Oh, there's a knife for it.

(He peels the pineapple outside)

(Wow)

(Interesting show)

He's so good at it.

(The flesh appears within seconds)

He must have run this shop for a long time.

Yes.

How long have you been running this shop for?

(A professional with 20 years of experience)

20 years?

Oh, I really want some now.

It's going to be so good. I can smell it.

Smell that.

I want to take a bite.

(Mouthwatering, look at that, smell that)

You're like a sculptor.

Artist.

(An amazing smile)

How many do you peel every day?

About 30 to 40.

(Since you've done this for 20 years...)

Must have earned lots of money around here.

No, just enough to make a living.

(What a modest sculptor)

Are you from Shanghai?

I'm from Jiangxi.

I'm lived in Shanghai for 20 years.

What do we do with this now?

You want it cut, right?

Looks tasty.

It's mouthwatering.

- Right? / - Yes.

(Mouthwatering torture)

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

This one's big.

(Recharging on sugar)

(Feeling that sugar filling him up)

How do you say delicious?

- "Haochi." / - "Haochi."

(Fully charged)

(Watching you guys makes me happy)

Do you know many Koreans?

I see Koreans often in this neighborhood.

Because of Korean Provisional Government site!

That's why...

Do you know Korea's Provisional Government site?

Of course. It's nearby.

(Provisional Government of Korea, on April 11th, 1919)

(Established to resist against the Japanese rule)

(Located near Xintiandi of Shanghai)

I know President Moon Jaein too.

(He shows much interest in Korea)

I also know that he met with Kim Jongun.

I think Korea will be unified soon.

It's a good thing.

Do you live upstairs?

Yes, I live here.

Where are your children?

My son graduated from college and is working

and living somewhere else.

So you raised him with the money

you made selling fruits.

Right, right.

Yes, that's right.

He must have worked really hard.

You must have had much trouble opening this shop.

I started off with a 3-wheeled handcart.

Oh, going around selling fruits with a handcart!

So he started off with a handcart

and became the owner of a shop like this!

(That's how everyone lives)

Your fists are really big.

(I know mine are pretty big too)

(The growth stages of a hand)

(Is he Actor Ma Dongseok of Shanghai?)

You've got a really big hand!

(Rough and coarse hands)

(Calluses all over)

(For 20 years, he has not rested a day)

(In order to look after his son)

(What stories are hidden under his smile?)

(Sangmin, shall we ask him once?)

Do you think you can let us sleep over?

Do you think you can let us sleep over?

(What would his response be?)

(Wow)

I'm sorry, my house is really small.

(We understand)

Also, it's a rented house.

It really is small so I can't let you sleep over.

Sure!

We can't cause trouble when the house is rented.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

(It was nice meeting you)

Yasir Qadhi Doubts in Islam - Duration: 7:59.

Yasir Qadhi has doubts in Islam regarding the preservation of the Quran and regarding

evolution.

Yasir Qadhi always struck me as a rational individual, a person of academic integrity.

I always suspected that he may end up agnostic one day.

He has come out and said his faith has taken a major blow. That he has come close to a

crisis of faith. This is an important development because it shows that even the most strong

believers, ones who studied the religion in depth, are not immune to the problems in the

faith.

The narrative of Islam we have been taught is false, and it falls apart under scrutiny.

In emails that Sheikh Yasir sent to a private list that were leaked August 2016 he admits

that he has doubts regarding the preservation of the Quran.

Yasir Qadhi states:

"I am personally aware of around a dozen muslims in academia who had major crises of faith

(and perhaps one who has left the faith) because of this issue, and i have also confessed on

this list that my own personal crisis of knowledge (I wouldnt really call it a faith crisis,

although perhaps it came close) was when I entered into this realm, during my first year

at Yale, and felt my world come crashing down in front of me. I didn't know what to believe

about the hifdh [preservation] of the Quran anymore, because there was no alternative.

You either had non-Muslim views, or these simplistic, standardized triumphalistic claims

that a rational mind simply cannot acknowledge as true."

So he's saying that because of what he learned, his world had come crashing down, that dozens

of Muslims in academia had major crises of faith by studying this content. That he doesn't

know how to make sense of the preservation of the Quran anymore.

This mirrors what Noman Ali Khan said about his friend:

for example I have a friend who's in Harvard at the Islamic Studies

program and I met him in he was getting his master's then he was gonna get into his ph.d

in Islamic studies he's not even done with his master's I just I went to Boston and I

was hanging out with him and what does he tell me he says

man after the two semesters I lost my faith and the only way I can actually continue my

studies is that I I stopped thinking about it because if I think

about it I can't I can't keep my mind anymore it's gone

Why is it that studying Islam in western universities makes Muslims lose faith? Because Islam cannot

survive scrutiny. These are believers who have no desire to become disbelievers, but

end up either doing so or coming close to it, despite their best efforts not to.

I was one of the first people that was doing a PhD from an Ivy League. Now I have 10 years

at Madinah.

I still dont know anybody who's done something like this I mean and I'm being

honest with you you're all tulab al Ilm (students of knowledge)

Wallahi (By God) I'll be honest with you

the shubuhat (doubts) that I was exposed to at Yale some of them I still don't have

answers to.

This is a man who studied at Madinah University for over 10 years. Being exposed to the academic

analysis on Islam has created doubts in his mind he cannot answer. Do you think students

in Madina are exposed to academic arguments? No, of course not. Madinah University's entire

purpose is to pump out more Muslims sheikhs who will propogate Islam further. They only

present one narrative, the dominant one, without question.

He also says ": the 'preservation' of the Quran cannot, then, be a 'letter for letter,

tashkil for tashkil' narrative that later scholars verbalized and the Muslim Ummah is

taught"

He is saying that the letter for letter dot for dot preservation cannot be true.

That is the conclusion of this topic. But there's another topic that Yasir Qadhi discussed

that blew me away. It is on the topic of evolution.

Science tells us that the story of Adam & Eve is unscientific. It goes against what we know

about common ancestry of humans. Adam and Eve is a myth that was created to explain

our origins but it is not true.

I was so impressed that Yasir Qadhi made this following statement because it goes against

the narrative of Islam. In the video "Theological debate on evolution" Yasir Qadhi says about

Adam & Eve:

"It is clear that the theory of evolution is considered to be a scientific fact among

large segments of the world. Indeed, some have argued there is almost consensus amongst

the scientific community all life as we know it, including human life, originated from

a universal common ancestor. The primary opposition from this theory is coming exclusively from

religious circles who view their scriptures as providing an alternative explanation of

the origin of life.

However in the case of the story of Genesis, the story of Adam, we have such an explicit

narrative, one that is deeply rooted in countless passages of Quran and Sunnah that there is

no choice other to accept that this is what Allah and his Prophet intended for us to believe.

The sheer quantity and diversity of nouns, adjectives, and verbs used simply makes any

linguistic reinterpretation or ta'weel so imaginative and so fanciful that renders such

an endeavor mere mental gymnastics.

Frankly there is no logical way for a Muslim to contradict this entire account A-Z, verse

by verse, hadith by hadith, except by claiming that the whole story is a fable, its allegorical,

and not meant to be understood at face value.

Such a claim might actually make more sense logically, but its leads to disastrous and

blasphemous implications about Allah and his truthfulness and the function of the Prophet

and role of the Quran."

This is a shocking statement to hear from a Muslim preacher. He's saying that it's only

"believers" who contradict science because of what their holy books say. He's saying

it would make more sense if the entire account of Adam and Eve was a fable.

Again, he is saying it would be more logical, that it makes more sense to believe that what

Islam tells us is a fable, but this has blasphemous and disastrous implications for Islam, in

his own words.

In conclusion, Islam has major problems. This is why Yasir Qadhi's faith was shaken when

studying at Yale. Because when it is put under the light of scrutiny, Islam falls apart.

Amazing food Delivery in Shanghai! YUM! [One Night Sleepover Trip/ 2018.06.19] - Duration: 16:57.

- Joy. / - Yes.

Is Jongmin handsome to you?

Joy has no boyfriend.

Jongmin is her "strange" type.

- You mean, "ideal" type? / - Yes.

- You mean, "ideal" type? / - Yes.

(My ideal man...)

(When I saw you in person)

(My heart and my spirit were in the clouds)

(Of course, Jongmin was...)

You were handsome when you were young.

You were handsome when you were young.

Am I not that handsome now that I'm old?

Not as much as when you were young.

How old are you?

When were you born?

In 1992.

- We are 13 years apart. / - 13 years.

- 13 years. / - That's not much.

13 years.

- Age! / - I'm fine with that.

- I'm fine with that. / - You're fine with that?

Age is not so much of a problem.

(13 years isn't that much)

But!

But what?

When we went to Korea last time...

At a club...

- At a club? / - She met someone?

Yes.

No!

(That's an embarrassing story)

- Just... / - Why not?

- Just what? / - He's not fun!

(But I'm right!)

- Just, just... / - Friends?

We just exchanged numbers.

(I thought I was your ideal man)

Just three days ago.

(Watch what you're saying)

- Three days ago... / - Oh, three days ago.

- Now, the two are... / - Just numbers...

Talking with each other through a messenger app.

I don't even remember what he looks like anymore.

Do you think that you can trust

a man that you met like this?

- Can she trust him? / - Yes, that.

I think that depends on the person.

(I'm upset, Joy)

Jongmin seems upset, no?

(Had I been 10 years younger... Stupid crayfish)

Do you have a boyfriend?

I want to have a boyfriend.

- You do? / - Because...

I want to get married.

Already?

What's your reason?

- My reason is... / - Why do you want to marry early?

My father and my mother...

They got divorced.

Oh, they got divorced.

So I...

I want to marry quickly and have a family of my own.

Oh, make a family quickly...

I want to meet my husband quickly.

What do you think of Korean men?

Korean men?

I'm okay if he's like you.

(Jongmin's popularity is exploding in China)

I heard that Korea and China have

different views on marriage.

In China, parents want their child to get married

after a certain age.

They find it embarrassing if their child is

still unmarried after that certain age.

I visited the Shanghai Marriage Market last Saturday

at People's Square.

(People's Square crowded with people)

(Open umbrellas on a sunny day?)

So they write their ideal type

and the name and their background

on the umbrella like this.

(Marriage Market at People's Square)

(The most important condition is)

(To be a resident of Shanghai)

(Sometimes, the parents and the child)

(Come out in person to advertise themselves)

They're doing their best to find

a match for their child.

Parents were all out with

the profile of their child at the square.

It was really interesting to see.

I don't understand the concept of standing

at the square with the profile

because it feels like they're selling an item.

But for my parents' generation, it's very common.

(The young generation may not understand)

Think of it more positively. Just like how

you met them coincidentally on a plane,

you'll miraculously find your other half.

Oh, really?

(The night of Shanghai is deepening)

(The bright nightscape and cool wind behind them)

(People begin getting ready to close their day)

Where's your house?

(The friends head to Joy's place)

- House. / - Straight!

- Straight? / - Yes.

By the way, the apartment complex is really dark.

Why are there no streetlights?

It's really bright in Korea.

Light! Light!

(Dimly lighted small street lamp)

This building!

- This building? / - There.

(The apartment where Joy lives in)

Here.

(Finally arrived at Joy's cozy house!)

- Finally, a place to sleep! / - Something's up here.

Huh?

- Why? / - What do we do?

- Why? / - Wait a minute.

Why?

What do we do?

Is it a blackout?

(A blackout all of a sudden?)

(Why now of all times...)

Is it a blackout?

(It must be a blackout)

(The apartment did seem really dark from outside)

Is there a circuit box here?

- No. / - The lights won't turn on.

Okay, then we should...

It's on!

(The lights came on!)

(So relieved)

Wow. really.

Wow.

Put these on.

We can sleep in the living room.

(Cozy home of Joy)

- It's so pretty. / - There's a cat!

- Really? / - Yes, there's a cat.

(Oops)

(How an actress makes her entrance)

Are you alright?

Cat!

(Did you cause trouble?)

Cat! Cat!

Aren't we... Hungry?

(Mr. Lee has found his appetite again)

What are you doing?

Are you doing a search?

- Yes. / - Yes.

Do we have to eat out?

(We'll eat at home)

- We can get food delivered. / - Yes.

- China has no delivery culture, no? / - I know.

Doesn't China not have delivery food culture?

We do now.

How long has it been?

It's been advancing really quickly.

Get us something that people in 20s like to eat

at this hour.

Don't mind us.

But could you order us "cong you ban mian?"

Order cong you ban mian for Jongmin.

Order us a portion of cong you ban mian.

(Cong you ban mian?)

There's a famous dish called scallion oil noodles.

- Shall we go try that first? / - Yes.

Shall we think about it while we have that?

Is this a Chinese restaurant?

(All day, he's been thinking of cong you ban mian)

(A fool for scallion oil noodles)

Jongmin wants to try that scallion oil...

- Stir-fried noodles! / - Stir-fried noodles.

Cong you ban mian!

This is really good.

I like it too.

- Really? / - Yes.

I really want to try it.

Since we're here, we'll buy that.

Of course.

(Leave it to me)

(Ordering, ordering)

(While they wait for the food to arrive)

- Let's look around. / - The room?

- Your room's so pretty. / - The room's cute!

It's so nice!

(Filled with small and cute ornaments)

(Cozy room of Joy)

This.

- Isn't this that? What was it called? / - Djembe.

Djembe, right? Djembe.

Can you play it?

Can you play it?

(This is what many people call me...)

(God of music)

(The god of music is starting to ride the rhythm)

(Playing to the beat)

(Not a duck, not broken either)

(The two are in disharmony like oil and water)

(A sudden finish)

So cool!

So cool!

(Good job, Djembe)

What's this photo?

Oh, parents.

(Photos of her memories)

- Mom and dad? / - Yes.

Pretty, right?

Mom and dad.

Your mother's beautiful.

Thank you.

- She's so pretty! / - Your mom's really pretty.

(Her mother and father are smiling brightly)

This is the last picture I took with both of my parents.

They divorced after this.

(That's why the picture is even more precious to Joy)

My mother is in a different city.

She could come to Shanghai,

but we can't live together anymore.

It must be hard for her to come.

I want to earn lots of money and get a house

and invite my mom to live with me.

My dad isn't against me meeting with my mom.

My mom and I have been friends since I was young.

(And the stories that haven't been told)

What's that tattoo on your arm?

- Tattoo? / - I think I saw something.

What is it?

(What meaning is behind her tattoo?)

It's a family picture.

- I got it in Korea. / - You had it done in Korea?

Oh, your tattoo is based on a picture?

- Do you have the real picture? / - Yes.

- Oh, really? / - Oh, a picture from your childhood!

I see.

(I always carry it with me)

- So this is that picture. / - I see...

Look at this picture.

It's the same as the picture. Nicely done.

(Her family that's always together in her heart)

My family must be together in my heart.

(We can feel Joy's longing heart for her family)

Think of it this way.

Your sincere wish will let you see her again.

Your mother is somewhere in this world anyway.

And you're wishing for it this sincerely.

Such wishes always come true.

They really do come true. So...

If Joy keeps on wishing for it sincerely...

Your wish to see your mother again

and to live together with both of them will...

(We hope your wish will come true one day...)

(Her happy parents in the old pictures...)

(A happy family that)

(Joy has been sincerely wishing for)

(Even today, Joy carefully dreams)

(Of a happy family of the three living together)

It's here.

Your dad?

- No, not dad. / - Delivery.

Delivery.

(Enjoy)

- Hello. / - Hello.

Awesome!

So cool!

We're having delivery food in Shanghai!

- Skewers! / - Skewers!

- Chicken skewers? / - Lamb skewers.

- Lamb skewers. / - Tsingtao beer and lamb!

(Lamb skewers)

The noodles look delicious.

This is totally my style. So my style.

Shall we dig in?

What should I have first?

Oh, it's so hard!

I'm having lamb skewers first.

(Hyeonkyeong chooses lamb skewers)

(Sangmin and Jongmin choose mala soup)

(We'll be conquering all of Shanghai's delivery food)

(Will they find the dishes tasty?)

(Slurp)

It's perfect for a late-night meal.

- Is it? / - Yeah, it's perfect for a lat-night meal.

It tastes like hot pot.

(Yes, this is what I was looking for!)

So good!

So good!

- Something's here again? / - More!

I think it's the one you wanted.

The noodles?

(Looking forward to it)

You're bringing cong you ban mian, right?

Friends!

Cong you ban mian is here!

Cong you ban mian!

What is it?

Cong you ban mian!

Cong you for Mr. Kim Jong-noodle.

(It's finally here)

So this is the famous

scallion oil noodles?

(Eating hurriedly)

(Sangmin tries it too)

(Everyone, don't just eat, say something)

(He's got to be a noodle-eating machine)

This dryness that I get when I chew... It's good.

That savory taste fills up my throat

and I'm so loving it.

(In summary, it's delicious)

Another delivery!

Another one!

Where are you from?

What is it this time?

- Coco. / - Oh, Coco! Coco!

(So happy)

Milk tea!

- Milk tea? / - Yes.

They must deliver milk tea too.

She ordered so much!

She's really generous.

(Generous girls of Shanghai, Joy and Hani)

It's here.

(What did they see?)

(Shaking eyes)

- What the... / - Look at the size of that milk tea.

Look at that.

(Huge bubble milk tea)

(I love bubble milk tea)

It's warm.

- Yeah. / - Warm milk tea.

- How is it? / - It tastes different.

How do you keep in shape?

Keeping in shape...

I usually don't eat so much,

but I do eat a lot at times like this.

I tend to binge...

(The two binge eaters)

(So they binge today too)

Sangmin "Did you know that Joy also went to a Korean Club?" [One Night Sleepover Trip/ 2018.06.19] - Duration: 18:07.

What is the biggest concern

of the two young ladies in their 20s

working hard in Shanghai?

(Joy and Hani's biggest concern?)

Shanghai is too expensive.

(Hani who had concerns regarding the economy)

(Joy who wanted to live with the rest of the family)

(A tattoo of her family picture)

(What could their biggest concern be?)

Finding a boyfriend.

- Boyfriend. / - Of course, boyfriend.

Boyfriend.

(What about Joy?)

(Same for me...)

- I see. / - Same for her.

How long have you not had a boyfriend for?

(Oh... Tears...)

One week?

Since 11th grade...

You didn't meet anyone since 11th grade?

Yes, that's right.

- Oh, really? / - There's someone I like...

But he doesn't like me back.

I don't know anymore.

What about Joy?

About 2 years.

- 2 years? / - Oh, 2 years?

(I see what's happening)

You two are really close, right?

You two are really close, right?

You two are always together, right?

- Yes. / - That's why you don't have boyfriends.

That's why you don't have boyfriends.

(Such tearful friendship)

What do we do?

(Joy's dad arrived)

Those things actually come true. They do.

(They are busy talking in the living room)

(A man of strong impression, Joy's father)

(Charismatic)

(Three clear lines on the middle of his forehead)

(He's coming!)

(So surprised)

(Giving off that aura)

Is that your dad?

- That's your dad, right? / - Is he your dad?

(What's going on?)

- Hello. / - Hello.

Continue talking for now.

(Joy follows after her dad)

(The trio are surprised by the aura of Joy's dad)

(Serious)

Where did he go?

- It's kind of pretty bad. / - It is?

- Did we make too much of a mess? / - I know him.

(It seems really serious)

Is her dad upset?

- Maybe it's too messy. / - We'll be fine.

Let's clean up.

(Let's clean up quickly)

Aren't we getting kicked out?

What's that?

- Aren't we getting kicked out? / - What's that?

(Chinese cherries)

Where did you get those?

(Are we to leave after having them?)

Did your father bring those?

Dad?

(Why did dad bring home cherries?)

(Wouldn't this be not enough?)

(It's fine, dad)

(Joy's dad is actually really gentle)

(Everyone stands up automatically)

- Hello. / - Hello.

Have fun talking.

Come talk and have fun with us.

Thank you.

Please, make yourselves comfortable.

(Joy's dad who gives off such a strong aura)

(Is actually a really delicate man)

(A father who prepares breakfast before work)

(A gentle dad always thinking about his daughter)

I'm Kim Jongmin.

Oh, Jongmin! I know you.

Hello.

She taught me Korean.

Hello!

Hello!

My name is Lee Sangmin.

- Sangmin? / - Yes, Lee Sangmin.

My daughter told me about you so I looked you up.

You two are TV hosts.

My name is Ryu Hyeonkyeong.

- Ryu Hyeonkyeong. / - Ryu Hyeonkyeong.

I'm an actress.

Oh, I see. You speak Chinese well.

You got that compliment yesterday too.

We are singers.

How old do they look?

(Curious, looking forward to his answer)

Let me guess.

26 years old.

(26 years old?)

No, no. Same, same.

Same as my age? She looks so young!

I'm 35 years old.

35.

You look like 25, not 35.

But you look really young.

How old is your father?

I turn 50 soon.

(Found a real baby face here)

- He looks really young. / - Wow. Young.

He looks like he could be my friend.

I don't think I'm old.

I even went cherry picking today with my friends.

(You're really young)

Can I ask what you do for a living?

I'm a supervisor at the China Railway.

I'm the head engineer.

I supervise for the China Railway.

Korean is really nice to listen to.

I think that's why she's trying to learn Korean.

Did you know that Joy visited Korea not long ago?

- Oh, you knew? / - Not just once, but often...

She likes Korea so much.

Did you know that she also went to a Korean club?

Did you know that she also went to a Korean club?

No!

- You made her panic. / - No.

Are we not allowed to mention it?

(It's a secret to my dad)

Your daughter and her friend...

Their biggest concern is about finding a boyfriend.

Finding a boyfriend.

(This is almost like Pandora's box)

Boyfriend.

(Oh, please stop)

Why would you say that?

I can't say this either?

(This is how he repays me for inviting him over)

- Just in case he's worried... / - No!

I don't know if I can say this about my daughter...

But I'm in a bit more hurry than her.

I was thinking of going to the Marriage Market

at the People's Square in a few days.

Dad says he'll go to the People's Square.

I've been to People's Square.

- She's been. / - I've been there.

I think I'll also go for my daughter.

(Dad wants to marry his daughter off quickly)

It's not only to follow Chinese culture

but also because there's only two of us.

Usually, if a girl has a boyfriend, she marries him

around the age of 25.

She's already getting old, so I'm in a hurry.

I'll go get more cherries. Continue talking.

(His back looks somewhat lonely)

(Once he marries off his only daughter)

(He'll be left all by himself)

Why does his back look so sad?

(He quietly approaches him)

Do you usually cook at home too?

Yes, I usually cook by myself.

Really?

I've been cooking for my daughter

since she started going to middle school.

You must really love your daughter a lot.

Her mother didn't come with us to Shanghai.

So I've been just living with my daughter.

I don't have time to prepare breakfast for her often.

So do you cook for your daughter by yourself?

She gets off work late at night

because she works at the TV station.

I get off earlier so I shop groceries and prepare food.

I get off earlier so I shop groceries and prepare food.

I get off earlier so I shop groceries and prepare food.

(He's always thinking about his daughter)

(Cherries that the father picked himself)

So delicious!

(The trio are enjoying the cherries)

(It's time to go to bed now)

- Thank you. / - Thank you, sir.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

You really are like an actress.

(Shy, shy)

(Hyeonkyeong exchanges numbers with them)

Wow.

Good night!

Are you sleeping this way?

(Sangmin and Jongmin will sleep in the living room)

- Good night! / - Good night!

It's comfortable here.

(2nd night in China)

(The two have been worn out the whole day)

(Taking a deep sleep)

(6:05 a.m.)

(Dad wakes up)

(What's the first thing that he does in the morning?)

(Preparing breakfast for his daughter)

(Hyeonkyeong wakes up too)

(What is that noise?)

Did you sleep well?

Get more sleep.

(Getting ready for breakfast)

(Dad's getting ready to leave)

(Checking once more...)

(Sangmin is sleeping sitting upright)

(Snoring)

(Dad quietly leaves for work)

Dad prepared breakfast before leaving for work.

(What menu did dad prepare?)

- Porridge. / - Porridge.

(Breakfast of a common Chinese household)

It's like thin rice gruel, no?

A bit like scorched rice in water.

Yeah, rice porridge.

What do you call this in Chinese?

That's called "dan bing."

- Dan bing. / - Dan bing.

Egg.

Dan bing.

Then what's this?

- This. / - Looks like fast-fermented bean paste.

(Fillings for dan bing)

(Pickled beans, Chinese-style dried radish)

(Stir-fried duck intestine, pickled vegetables)

(Lastly, the sauce)

How do I eat it?

The sauce smells so good.

Good smell.

- What is this again? / - What's the main ingredient?

It's made with beans and beef.

Now, you wrap it like this.

You wrap it and roll it up.

(Yum)

So delicious!

(This is delicious)

This is so good.

(It must be to their taste)

(Jongmin takes a big bite too)

The sauce finishes it off perfectly.

How long does it take to go to work?

About an hour.

- An hour. / - I see.

Okay, then let's leave now.

- She needs to get to work and all. / - Yeah.

- Let's go. / - Thank you so much for the night.

Thank you for this Chinese breakfast.

The breakfast was delicious.

- Delicious. / - Delicious.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

(On the way to work with the trio)

This is like a fashion show.

(Are you watching, fashion people?)

(The road I take becomes the runway)

What's that?

- What egg is that? / - Duck egg.

Look at those eggs.

These are chicken eggs?

No, duck eggs.

Oh, duck!

Duck and goose!

(Trying to buy one for Sangmin)

If an egg gets rotten, we throw it away.

It's been fermented?

(Fermented duck eggs, bought)

(The inside starts to reveal its color)

It's the egg from those chilled vegetable dishes!

- Those chilled vegetable dishes! / - Right!

I see! I really like this!

(Fermented eggs enjoyed with chilled vegetables)

How does it turn like this by fermentation?

Oh, this is it.

(First time seeing it whole)

- Have it. / - You have it.

Try it.

This fermented duck egg?

This was so good when it was served cut.

But now that I'm trying to have it whole...

(Let's go!)

(Will it be to his taste?)

I'm okay.

There's more.

I'll have it on the way.

(Let me try it)

(A taste that opens up the nostrils)

- It tastes like the fermented skate. / - Skate, skate.

Tastes like skate.

I can't eat skate.

It tastes like fermented skate.

With chilled vegetables, it didn't taste like this.

But when I just have this...

- It tastes like skate. / - Tastes like fermented skate.

Such mischievous girls.

(Sorry, sorry)

- Wow, it's strong. / - Tastes like fermented skate.

It's strong.

When they come to Korea, I'll have them taste

fermented skate for sure.

(We'll try fermented skate next time we go to Korea)

(It's time for each to go on his or her way)

- Do we wait here? / - Yes.

(Burying the sadness in the past night)

I want to spend more time together.

- Already? / - Yes.

(Don't want to say good-bye)

(The bus arrived!)

This is our bus.

You take this bus?

- Bye! / - Bye!

Good-bye!

Let us know when you come to Seoul!

Good-bye!

- Bye! / - Good-bye!

- Good-bye! / - Good-bye!

(Good-bye!)

(Although we don't know when we'll meet again)

(Don't forget us)
