going to be traveling next week Monday I'm going to New York so we're gonna do
our show we're gonna have to do our show while I'm on the road it'll be a
different background here maybe I get some cool New York shot or something but
but it's been a busy busy week I'm getting started to to come close to my
product launch it's it's just been absolutely insane but but Wayne my man
listen you you said that you can get this guy on our show from YouTube and
let me tell you when you first mentioned the name it didn't ring a bell but then
as soon as I pulled him up on YouTube I'm like I know this dude this guy is
absolutely insane he's got over a hundred thousand subscribers on his
channel as an affiliate marketer this guy is absolutely insane so when you
said we can get this guy on I was I was super pumped about it so so Wayne thank
you so much for setting this up my man we've got John Michael on the line here
what's going on John hey how is everything great to be here fantastic
awesome awesome now Wayne who's better-looking John or me
listen when I saw when I see your picture on your YouTube channel John I
get a little jealous I get a little jealous because you've got the the the
like GQ kind of look going with your nice jacket and you know you got the
pose going on I've got the biker look okay I look like I'm hustlin maybe some
crank or some methamphetamine or something on my motorcycle too by the
way okay are you do you ride ma'am yes I do
what kind of bike do you ride on kind of bikes
I don't have one right now but I'm gonna get one soon are you more of the are you
more of the Harley kind of a guy or are you more of the like the fast crotch
rocket as we call him that kind of guy kind of on an off road okay okay all
right all right all right so Wayne you set this all up because you're brilliant
you're the mastermind behind traffic domination podcast I absolutely love
what you did here how did you get hooked up with John that was what was that John
three four years ago we first met four years ago and I actually was looking for
my next niche for coaching and I found John and that's how we met he was my
couch we were done a bit more or back then that was a bit a little bit more
gray hat than what you do now I think is great and that was it and took his
coaching I had a for nearly $4 epc on my first I think I was $1,500 I remember
down on one Sunday yeah $1500 and I remember the fruit the software as well
remember the video and since then we just kind of kept in touch ever since
and he is the man when it comes to you job we went with Mia we mal but November
damn we was at November some yeah yeah up in London in November and since then
it's been awesome and this just is the combination of that really
so John I noticed that you are killing your your your crushing it on your
videos just in the last week it looks like you have in one video 36,000 views
in in the last five days you made another video where you're
getting 18 thousand views and a video from two days ago you've got one with
14,000 views my man I mean what in the world did you do first of all when did
you get started with YouTube and when did you actually start to see kind of
the fruits of your labor come to come to pass all right I'll just be very very
brief but it's interesting how I got started very very briefly I quit my job
I was fed up of my job I started an online marketing I spent all of my money
on solo ads trying to do affiliate marketing we were broke completely broke
I didn't I refused to go back to work my wife was pregnant we had a kid things
were really really really bad and then I decided okay we need to get free traffic
I heard about free traffic free traffic there must be a way so I was looking and
searching and I went onto YouTube I type how to make money online and I saw all
these videos popping up and they had thousands and thousands of views and I
noticed that they had a link many of them they had a link in the description
and when I clicked on the link I saw a landing page and I opted in to
somebody's list and I saw some offers I said okay people these people are
getting a ton of free traffic if they can do it I can do it so I said I'm
gonna master YouTube no matter what it was like my only option so that's what I
did I started putting on videos trying testing I had a lot of channels go down
cuz I started out a little bit this you know I'm gray hat like Wayne said and I
remember specifically like one week before all our savings were like
finished we have about 100 euros left in that Bank just for money to buy food
let's literally speaking I put out a video it ranked well and I got my first
$250 commission so I had basically a video a link in my description people
helped it in they so an offer was a CPA offer boom I
earned this commission so from then onwards I just started putting out
videos like a maniac basically I was uploading videos all day long and like
from that stage within a four month period I hit my first 10k a month just
by doing this so man Wayne I mean why haven't why didn't we have this guy on
first okay no but that's that's really awesome and
how long have you actually been doing YouTube now about five years about five
years and this channel that you're seeing right now the door Michael
marketing channel basically I've really been just focusing on the past few
months so it wasn't really moving if you see the older videos have been a bit
slow and I kind of decide I'm gonna ban myself maybe a year or so if I'm not
mistaken something like that but quite recently
so this 100,000 plus subscribers is grown recently it's not since five years
I think I've seen 12,000 in the last couple of weeks you've added yeah pretty
fast we're growing pretty fast we're currently we're adding anyway of
anywhere from two three hundred to five six seven hundred subscribers a day okay
approximately but it's growing incredible incredible so now one of the
scary things that you just mentioned is that when you first started your doing
some gray hat stuff now obviously that's something that that people want to steer
clear from as much as possible as much as they can because those types of
things can get your channel shut down now I've noticed that a lot of people
are simply ignorant to what would be considered good practices on YouTube
what are some good practices that that you would say that people should get
acquainted with as a brand new person getting involved with affiliate
marketing and using YouTube as a way to drive traffic
these offers okay first of all I mean getting a channel shut down that never
stopped me I just created more channels YouTube is fingers you can create as
many channels as you want and that works I mean that works but ideally you want
to focus on building a brand it took me quite at some time to understand that
but it's way way more effective and there's a lot more in future down the
line so what what do you should really focus on is you first of all you need to
understand your audience what they what they're interested in what they want to
hear from you and then you want to focus on providing value to them okay just be
short peace sweet quick to the point give them as much value as you can
without you know just going around in circles and wasting their time and
they're gonna love you as long as it's good content good value and I use
YouTube to you know spread the word let's say to brand myself and gain
increase my audience and I through that I drive traffic to my email lists I'm
building my email is through YouTube traffic okay so let's say we're adding
anywhere from five hundred to a thousand subscribers a day from YouTube to my
email list coming daily for free I just put a couple of videos a week and that's
it but I focus on it's important to focus on providing value I don't I don't
sell on my videos I provide value I help people people they love my videos they
they get results they they thank me that you know oh thank you I saw this video
and I did this and I made so much money and I'm helping a lot of people through
my videos and know I attract people to to me and that the subscribers that I
get also my emails they convert really well so usually if I want to you know
this I'm a promotion you know some new launch and I say I'm gonna no focus on
that quite a few times I get on the top and I even win win prizes and that's
just from this traffic coming Wayne Wayne you you I don't know how you
brokered a special offer with this guy for our listeners if they stay until the
end but but guys let me tell you I don't
know this guy is like the Magic Man okay this guy's got the the magic touch when
it comes to these guys who were experts in their field when it comes to all
these traffic methods so you actually we're able to get John to agree to give
away some free training isn't that right yes so guys in order to get that in
order to get that you need to stay until the end because we've got some more
stuff coming along now John alright so people need to you know
create content create value something that will be useful to the viewer what
are you know obviously there's going to be some tools that that are needed for
people to get started what are some what we would you say are essential tools
besides some type of recording device for getting you on camera but what would
you say are some tools that really help you and your business that any serious
person who's getting involved with YouTube should really consider happening
in their arsenal yeah I will tell you some tools that I use but again I want
to stress the the fact that I don't really you know focus too much on tools
and you know the most important thing is that you are unique you're yourself you
don't just copy people hey I see many youtubers they just they for example
they copy exactly what I'm doing you can never be the best copy-cat but you can
be the best you all right so you to be original you need to be yourself and you
need to provide unique content don't just go around copying whatever you see
provide unique content that's that's key okay now what what device is you using
what tools I don't use any really high-tech tools I just use a a webcam
and I use a microphone it's a rode microphone whatever you use is fine you
can record with your phone don't don't let I'm just saying this because I don't
want people I hear that many times that I don't have a good cam
and you know that's why I'm not doing my videos I don't have a microphone screw
that you don't need all that you got a phone
everybody's got a phone nowadays they're all they've all got cameras on them you
can start making videos right away you don't need anything else okay you don't
need anything else if you want to record your screen I do a lot of screen capture
videos there is a software called screencast-o-matic you can even use the
free version if you want I don't really recommend it because it says it will say
screencast-o-matic at the bottom and I think there's a limit to a couple of
minutes 15 15 15 minutes yeah you can you can get the software for 18 dollars
a year which is ridiculous it's nothing it's so easy to use it's very very
practical you can do whatever you want you can minimize your face you can make
it bigger you can it's really simple to use so basically that's all I use okay I
of course I use some tracking cuz I've got links in my descriptions I've got I
use a tracking software I use quick magic so I can track I need I'm tracking
from the traffic that's coming from all my videos so I know from which videos
it's coming from which videos I'm getting conversions I need to be
tracking these things again don't get too crazy and too hung up on all of that
the most important is that you put great content outside unique content that's
that's what can even if you're not tracking which you should again you see
how many views you're getting on the video more and more or less you know
from where your results are coming yeah and the result in that the traffic from
YouTube converts really really really well I mean I cannot compare it for
example the solar air traffic I do by solar as occasionally but as it compares
like four to five times better minimum four to five times better because the
people video converts okay video flat out converts when people they see young
on YouTube they see you there they see the videos they already got a ton of
value from all these videos you know they they just sign up they click
through your link they sign up they're already sold you know they're ready so
they you know they already love you because they you provide good content so
they listen to what ever you say as long as it's you know
you're promoting of course good stuff that's key listen I need you to look at
my channel and tell me what I'm doing
the content is key there's a few things ok the most important thing is the
content the title is crucial the title is crucial and the thumbnail
these three things are the most important things that you you know the
three most important things content title and thumbnail he's tweaking I
literally had a video that was kind of a dead
I changed the thumbnail and it went to like ten thousand views a day just
because I change the thumbnail people think it's gonna be overly complicated
stuff than they all this they think it's overly complicated at the time it's just
no one what really matters yes exactly all the disciplines
understand your audience give them what they want I listen to I I read always
all the comments ok I always read Oh cut the comments and I can write back the
feedback okay so if I see a video that okay for example recent they put out a
video and I saw it got great feedback so today I released another video it's
doing very well already which was kind of based on that one and following some
suggestions that I heard so I I can't find what exactly they want and they
love it I mean I the comments the comments are coming all the time I just
made it public I just made it public what is it one hour ago
one other half hours ago it already has one 1,700 views
182 likes 48 comments just just one hour ago oh man because I'm telling them what
they want I'm giving them what they want I'm doing life I gotta be doing life
completely wrong because I put out I put out a video three days ago
and I'm trying to run like a test and I've gotten 56 views listen everybody
starts like that I mean I started with zero views and zero subscribers in zero
you know you need to keep at it you need to keep at it yeah yeah well like with
anything like with anything I mean success doesn't come always easily and
it takes quite some time to figure out exactly what your audience wants also so
what another tip I would say to our audience don't get disheartened if you
put out your first videos and you know nobody sees them okay just keep on
putting out videos consistently no matter what okay and get the feedback
and try to improve your videos every single time I have to say that does
bring me to another question you know Wayne well not a question really but
just a thing that I'm picking up from you John and Wayne is you're big on this
man is mindset this is that's kind of your thing is your mindset because I'm
hearing really don't make excuses do the work and eventually you'll you'll you'll
see the benefits of doing the work ahead of time and for you it took forever
you became almost broke you spent your last amount of dollars and all of a
sudden you're seeing the fruits of your labor after about four more months from
when things started to click for you and and guys that's really a big testament
to how important mindset is you know I mean Wayne give us give us maybe some of
your thoughts on how important your your your your mental status and your drive
actually is to this entire model that that John is talking about it's the same
it's the same in all online models nothing works right away it never does
but you've gotta have you've liked John has logo of God when you have like
successful people have they have that in a belief that it will work it's the same
Vasili so where's it saying that it's the saying of everything
you've just gotta have that kind of I don't know whether you call it heart or
that belief that um it's gonna work and I try and instill this in people in
people of coach and everything else and I'm sure John's done the same the people
who really make it are the ones that just keep hammering away they got the
consistency in it is consistent consistent they immerse themselves and
whatever it is they don't they completely surround themselves in it and
you can just tell the ones who are going to be successful and the ones that
aren't you can just tell from the mindset the mindset I mean I never used
to believe it when peoples and so many mindset is everything I always think
mindset was just hard work and they it's not just a it's a complete understanding
of you're out of yourself flailing what you're trying to change so it is the
biggest em thing for success that you need is to work on your mindset alright
John John you have a hundred thousand plus subscribers this is what I call you
too famous have the Illuminati contacted you yet my next goal we're gonna we're
gonna go with all the conspiracy theorists and and just put it on on the
sign here there we go I've got my eye on you my friend give us give us some some
really good key things to consider when like almost like a checklist if you will
to consider when we want to get involved with with YouTube affiliate marketing
okay first of all I just want to touch up on what you discussed there before
with Wayne mindset is key I mean it's key like for me it's like for me like
Tony Robbins says is 80% mindset and ninety and twenty eighty percent mind
seven twenty percent mechanics I totally totally believe that and I see that in
myself like when some periods I'm down if I you know if something goes wrong I
see that in my work you know so when I'm consistent in one persist and I'm gonna
say I'm gonna make this no matter what I'm you know this is gonna work
things start to fall in place and things start work okay
even if all is going shit if I have this mindset that I'm gonna make it work no
matter what even whatever it's happened whatever is going wrong I'm just gonna
continue hammering at and on it it works I mean eventually it works I feel it
takes time into that Johnny's your old method
you kinda kind of stopped working on moves you literally had to restart again
then yet but yeah that's true you were gonna be successful too just shows how
much mindset matters that's true and during that period that the old method
kind of didn't work and I had I had a bad transition period okay I had a bad
transition period but I never stopped I never stopped and there it pays off it
pays off I yeah go ahead good I was gonna say that that kind of like
what you said about just continuing to press forward when I first got started
in affiliate marketing period it took me about four months to make my very first
commission and my first Commission was fifty cents and and you know what that
was like the biggest the biggest win I had ever experienced for a measly 50
cents because ultimately it wasn't about the dollar amount it was that finally
what I was doing started to pay off in a result that was positive and if you guys
if you just continue to fight forward and press forward and do what you're
being told in your trainings instead of instead of jumping from one thing to
another I'm telling you guys this will work and you can see that right here in
front of you flesh-and-blood with not only myself but with Wayne as well as
our special guest John with YouTube who I would argue has got the best looking
face out of all of us but anyway John go ahead and continue what you were saying
all right so what I want to say let me know what you'd love to play
I was that was that was Alexa my little Alexa thing so go ahead sorry about that
guys the most important thing okay when it comes to YouTube and when it comes to
videos people get scared of shit for some reason they get scared videos so
the basic thing I want to say is just do it just make your first freaking video
it's not not he's gonna high man he's gonna happen to you knows that nobody's
gonna come and bite your head off just record that video and just do it don't
think about it anymore you know just because I see so many people they're
people I used to do coaching I know I kind okay now we're doing through
traffic domination but anyway there were people who used to you know pay me to
teaching this stuff and they never put a single video they always said they would
and they always procrastinating they never even put a single video so no my
first thing to you is just just do it just make a frickin video even if you're
stressed even it doesn't matter say it say it in your video say listen you know
it's my you know my name is John I'm doing my first video so sorry if I'm a
little bit you know I look at a bit stressed sorry if I'm sweating people
they appreciate that okay if you are be yourself be original be yourself
people gonna love you there are people who are gonna love you and they're gonna
be your fans and they're people are gonna hate you screw those I hate you
I've got a bunch of fans and I've got haters also I just ignore the haters and
that's it just be gonna be yourself doesn't matter if you're afraid doesn't
matter if you only the fact that you that you say that you're afraid to do
the video and you did the video and you were there in front of camera people are
gonna admire you for that okay people are gonna admire you for and I've seen
that I've seen that happen I've given this advice before and I've seen that
happen and it works okay so get started no matter what a few tips I have to say
is don't go copying exactly what other people are doing be yourself you can
never be the best copy-cat but you can be the best you find your own style is
nothing it's not gonna come straightaway at you okay look at other youtuber
get ideas and be yourself find your own style be original
we don't be boring in your videos that's something you know very very important
sometimes I go to watch some videos like hello guys and today no more no more
you have to okay you have to be an excited version of yourself alright you
have to be an excited version of yourself in your videos has to be you
but in a very excited version okay so whatever I'm teaching people how to make
money online if I show them a method and and I'm like alright this method you
know you can try it out but no yeah I don't really I need to be excited about
it I need to be Palmilla and whenever I make a video I make sure that it's
something good it's gonna help people and I'm excited to bring it out I'm not
pretending I'm not pretending I'm excited bring it up because I know it's
gonna help many people but you need to make sure that comes across and you
don't want to come across fake again you have to be yourself okay you have to be
original I have to be yourself very important your titles get ideas from my
main source of inspiration is YouTube itself okay is YouTube itself or for
titles for example I see what's working I see what's out there and what's
already working and I get ideas from there I don't copy I'm kind of model
what's working and I make it to my me I make it my own
let's say I customize it to my own in my own way alright but I I model what
working that's that's what I've been doing from when I whenever I started
having success with affiliate marketing I was modeling what was working and kind
of customizing myself why reinvent the wheel you see already what's working
there out there you see what people like to listen to in your niche okay so kind
of put yourself package it with your brand with yourself with your
personality and give gift to give to them something original along the lines
of what is already working what do you see that people respond to okay awesome
I could be testament to that as well though I think that was you that got me
to do my first video if I remember in fact my first video was
a review video for you I think got sales that was my first video yes I remember
you told me I haven't made a video before I met and now we do about seven a
day Wow
but they taken that step just doing that first one yes yeah just do that just do
the first one the first time I did a video I was scared shitless when I did
my first video I was I really thought I you know I was practicing front of the
mirror I said oh my god I suck at this I'm gonna make videos I'm terrible I
really believe that and probably I really was but anyway I said fuck it I'm
gonna make my video I'm gonna do my I'm gonna do my first video we are we are
listed on iTunes as family-friendly so so so maybe we add in a couple of bleeps
there that's why it'll make it it'll make it more interesting anyway I watch
my language but yeah I mean yeah you have to go for it you have to do it you
have to do it there's no there's no other way and if you are I think if you
really have literally any type of business but especially for your doing
online marketing affiliate marketing and you're not doing videos you're leaving a
ton of money on the table everybody's doing videos all the all the
products they're sold with videos everything nowadays go to see the
statistics of how videos sell you'll be amazed you'll be blown away if you're
not doing videos it's crazy it's crazy I mean like all the affiliate contest
that I want it's because I make a video I don't just send traffic to to an offer
never I don't I used to do that I don't do that anymore I always send them to my
videos I send them to my videos I show them my teaching better than enough boom
conversions go go through the roof your if you're not doing doing videos you are
leaving you're losing big-time big-time John
Michael you are a genius you are a genius Wayne Wayne where are we at on
