PANORAMA UPDATE #2 - Quick Overview + Text Color Mod Status - Duration: 3:31.

Hey guys, salut mes amis och hallå gubbar, Maxim here.

Just a couple hours ago we got a new beta update for Panorama, for bug fixes and other things.

It's been a long time since I've seen Valve add so much extra stuff into something so quickly

which is really awesome to see.

I'm going to look at some of the few things that are interesting to bring up and also

talk about my text color mod near the end.

I liked pretty much everything that Panorama had to offer but the scoreboard felt a little

off (I gotta admit), and they decided to focus a lot on that.

To begin with, the blur amount has been reduced.

This was something I did not like so much, and I'm happy they reduced it, I would honestly

like it if they reduced it even more.

They added more specific row definitions for other game modes, updated the skillgroup icons

(because for some reason they were using the old ones), they added support for Major tournament

names & event stages which will be cool to see, and they fixed a couple other things.

Now let's move to gameplay.

They've re-added "Show Team Equipment" and also a keybinding to the settings menu

so you can easily bind it from there.

The same for "Show Team Positions In HUD" under game settings.

The Buy menu background blur has been reduced as well, which I didn't feel was so necessarily

needed since you have all the information down here, but it's still very welcoming.

Health/armor and ammo background elements are back, and can be adjusted like before,

so we get a bit of contrast and clarity, very nice.

And then they've updated the drop shadows from colored hud elements.

Under this part of the update there was mostly fixes, more fixes, oh maybe you noticed that

I didn't cover the new CZ reload animation in my previous video?

Well, they changed it back to how it was before, as it was unintended...

I knew that.

Some people here will be happy to see that they fixed some 4 by 3 issues, then finally

we got some radar improvements.

That's pretty much the update.

Now you're probably wondering when will Panorama be out of beta?

My guess is in less than a week, but I don't work for Valve so, don't get disappointed if I'm wrong.

I was right about them releasing it when they did so I guess I got some skills.

Also, I do believe that more updates will arrive for Panorama before it's public release,

so we might see another update simillar to this one.

It's in everyones interest, ours and Valves to release it when everything seems to be

good to go.

Now I wanna talk about my Text Color Mod.

So as I suspected, Panorama kinda broke my Text Color Mod, but not only that, they also

changed some strings to make it harder for me to customize some values with HTML elements

and symbols.

Almost as if Valve knows about the Text Color Mod.

I had to redo a lot, but to share some good news, I'm really happy with my results so

far, and I will release the latest version of the Text Color Mod around the same time

that Panorama gets released officially.

Make sure you subscribe with notifications on so you know when that video comes out,

you obviously don't want to miss that.

Another thing I would like to announce really quickly or say but I know some of you already

know this so it's not really a secret, but I'll be visiting ESL Cologne with my fiance,

K.): Más que aventura es la necesidad. Claramente para nosotros cobrar por contenidos en digital se transformó en su momento en una condición necesaria para seguir sosteniendo el modelo

Lo que veíamos es que un modelo sustentado exclusivamente en los ingresos por publicidad digital no iba a ser viable a mediano y largo plazo, básicamente porque lo que empezábamos a ver, y seguimos viendo, es una profunda contracción del negocio impreso tanto a nivel de la circulación de los periódicos y revistas como también en la publicidad gráfica

Y sobre todo que el crecimiento de la publicidad digital no nos iba a compensar la caída del mundo de la gráfica con lo cual necesariamente debíamos crear nuevas fuentes de ingreso

Que en realidad no es una nueva fuente de ingresos si uno lo piensa desde el mundo del off line donde siempre hubo ingresos por anunciantes que pusieron avisos y por parte de los lectores que estaban dispuestos a pagar por consumir esos contenidos

Con lo cual también siempre nos preguntábamos por qué en internet eso debía ser diferente, y no hay una razón por la cual deba ser diferente

Simplemente porque internet nació gratis hace 20 años y esto también fue un error

K.: Básicamente la respuesta a la pregunta es que es una condición necesaria cobrar por los contenidos porque hay mucho trabajo por detrás y el periodismo de calidad cuesta hacerlo y hay que financiarlo

 SEMANA: ¿Y cuándo hicieron este anuncio de que cobrarían por el contenido? J.K.: Lanzamos la suscripción digital en 24 de abril de 2017

 SEMANA: ¿Qué expectativas tenían en términos de número de suscriptores? J.K.: Nosotros teníamos una proyección al cabo de un año de llegar a los 40

000 suscriptores y llegamos a los 100.000 con lo cual superamos ampliamente las expectativas que teníamos

Esto lo logramos con el primer aniversario, a finales de abril. SEMANA: Descríbanos cómo es el sistema

¿Es cerrado o poroso? J.K.: Es un modelo poroso, parecido al del The New York Times y al de muchos otros

El 80 por ciento de los medios o publicaciones que tienen algún tipo de esquema de paywall adoptaron el modelo poroso en el que la audiencia tiene una cierta cantidad de notas por mes de manera gratuita y a partir de la nota n+1 es invitado a suscribirse

En realidad tenemos un modelo diferente al del The New York Times, que es más parecido al de los diarios de Brasil

Es un modelo llamado de dos ventanas porque tenemos el proceso de registro y también el de suscripción,  entonces hay dos barreras, la primera es para registrarse y luego te dejo leer una cierta cantidad de notas extra y luego te pido la suscripción

 SEMANA: ¿Cuántas notas dejan leer sin cobrar? J.K.: El único que es de libre acceso permanente es el home del sitio

El resto cuesta. Hoy tenemos el registro en 10 artículos con lo cual cuando la persona llega a esa cantidad es invitado a registrarse y si se registra, en un mes tiene derecho a 15 notas más

O sea el muro de pagos está hoy en 25 notas. El home sí es ilimitado, lo pueden leer las veces que quieran

 Le recomendamos: Para un buen periodismo regional el coraje no es opcional SEMANA: ¿Cómo fue la reacción de los lectores cuando implantaron este sistema? J

K.: Acá es clave dimensionar el universo al cual estábamos pensando impactar con un muro de pagos y eso lo tenemos bien medido por dos razones: primero, porque nosotros antes de lanzar el paywall, dos años y medio antes lanzamos el sitewall, que es el muro de registro con lo cual ya veníamos registrando a toda la gente que consumía una cierta cantidad de notas

Esos son nuestros lectores fieles. Cuando pusimos el paywall,  que lo lanzamos en 40 notas,  ya sabíamos que en 40 notas impactábamos al 2 por ciento de nuestra audiencia,  que es nuestra audiencia más fiel

Son solo 2 por ciento,  para ser más exactos 2,2 por ciento.  Cuando uno habla de cómo fue la reacción del público, los lectores, de la sociedad, la respuesta es que estamos impactando al 2 por ciento

Hay un 98 por ciento que ni siquiera se entera de que hay un muro de pagos. Hay comentarios en redes sociales, pues este es un tema cultural y ya sabíamos de antemano que era un mensaje que debíamos seguir difundiendo en la sociedad y es que el periodismo de calidad es una inversión, que es caro, y por eso nada estuvo desmesurado

Todos los reclamos que hubo estuvieron dentro de los parámetros que veíamos en otras partes del mundo, en términos de cantidad de reclamos

Lo que nos llamó la atención para bien, fue la rápida adopción que tuvimos, o sea,  cómo los usuarios fieles reconocen y valoran la información que están recibiendo y están dispuestos a pagar y se están suscribiendo

 SEMANA: ¿A ustedes les tocó cambiar la manera de hacer periodismo para prepararse para este sistema o simplemente siguieron haciendo las cosas como antes? ¿Dan contenido Premium adicional? J

K.: La pregunta es muy buena y la respuesta es muy interesante. Nosotros no estamos con el modelo premium o freemium

Creemos que es un modelo que hay que dejarlo decantar un poquito y luego, más adelante hacer un tipo de contenido cerrado para suscriptores

La respuesta a esa pregunta es que la manera en la que El Clarín está haciendo periodismo respecto a como lo hacía antes del lanzamiento del paywall no cambia

Está en el ADN de nuestro periódico hacer periodismo confiable y de calidad, eso estuvo siempre aun cuando no existía el mundo digital

Lo que sí cambia es que realmente se mide. Porque estamos midiendo todo lo que hacen los lectores ya registrados y también los suscritos

Se pone mucho foco en qué tipo de contenidos hoy nos leen los suscriptores, qué tipo de contenidos nos leen los registrados y qué tipo de contenidos nos leen los que llamamos los golondrinos,  que entran una o dos veces por mes y ni siquiera sabemos quiénes son

Entonces la redacción se va adaptando a las distintas audiencias, para entender cómo se pueden abordar los contenidos de Clarín desde distintas ópticas para distintas audiencias

 SEMANA: El desafío es mantener a ese suscriptor interesado todo el tiempo, a diario

Es un reto constante… J.K.: Hay experiencias diversas en el mundo. En el caso de Argentina -y hablo por Clarín y por La Nación, porque compartimos bastante información-  hoy lo que sería la tasa de bajas o de abandono del modelo de suscripción digital no es significativa, de hecho es muchísimo menor que en el mundo del papel o del impreso

Hoy no es un problema.  Sí entendemos que en algún momento pudo llegar a serlo, pero tenemos mecanismo de retención como también los tenemos en el mundo del papel

Pero la gente está suscribiéndose y continúa suscribiéndose. SEMANA: Ya que menciona a 'La Nación' entiendo que ustedes hicieron este modelo de pagos en forma simultánea

¿Cómo fue la comunicación entre los dos diarios? ¿Hubo estrategias conjuntas? En realidad lo lanzamos antes que ellos, en abril

La Nación lo lanzó en agosto, cuatro meses más tarde. Sí hubo comunicación y la hubo porque entendemos que esa es la mejor manera de difundir este proceso y esta nueva cultura en toda la industria que va detrás de este cambio disruptivo del paywall, A mí lo que me gustaría es que lo más rápido posible todos los diarios se sumen a esta tendencia que insisto, para mí no es una aventura sino una necesidad de toda la industria

Ahora se han sumado diarios nacionales, diarios de la provincia de Córdoba. En realidad no es una estrategia sino algo ideal, que toda la industria pueda comunicar que está bajo el tema de suscripción

 Le sugerimos: Hay grandes territorios de Colombia sin un periodismo local fuerte Nora Sanín SEMANA: ¿Cómo es el modelo de negocios hoy? ¿Esperan que los ingresos entren más por publicidad o por lo digital? J

K.: En nuestro primer año de recorrido de paywall,  los resultados superaron las expectativas y esto claramente genera entusiasmo para seguir trabajando el modelo

Digamos que el modelo lo vemos robusto tres años para adelante, en 2021. Hoy un diario como Clarín tiene más o menos el 55 por ciento de sus ingresos provenientes de la circulación y 45 por ciento del mundo de la publicidad, tanto en papel como digital

El 85 por ciento de los ingresos provienen del mundo impreso y el 15 por ciento de digital

Cuando nosotros proyectamos de acá a tres años, al 2021, ese ratio se transforma más o menos en un 60 por ciento de ingresos que van a provenir del negocio tradicional del impreso y 40 por ciento va a provenir del mundo digital

Ahí el paywall tiene un peso muy importante.

 GUERRERO El candidato presidencial de la coalición Por México al Frente, Ricardo Anaya, presentó en Acapulco cinco compromisos con Guerrero, que van desde el cambio en la estrategia de seguridad pública hasta el inicio del programa Ingreso Básico Universal, el cual dijo, iniciará en esta entidad

 Anaya Cortés sostuvo un encuentro con militantes de los partidos PAN, PRD y Movimiento Ciudadano en Sinfonía del Mar, en donde dijo que el Gobierno federal no ha cumplido con sus obligaciones en materia de seguridad pública

 Hoy lo que más falta es recuperar la paz y recuperar la tranquilidad, porque los niveles de violencia que hoy se están viviendo en Guerrero y en Acapulco son absolutamente inaceptables

Yo vengo aquí a hacer un compromiso con ustedes: vamos a cambiar estrategia y vamos a tener como prioridad número uno la seguridad de las familias", afirmó

 De los 18 minutos que duró su discurso, solo siete los dedicó a dar a conocer sus propuestas de campaña, el resto del tiempo lo utilizó para presentar a los candidatos a diputados, senadores y presidente municipal de la coalición que representa
