Waching daily Jun 22 2018

Okay, so yeah, we're back to doing the shit again.

[Part 2]

So, I can only go up to [Part 3] because I use the basic thumbnail template from MandRproductions' series "Building Hoth in LEGO" and Ryan now watches my videos, apparently.

So, um, please get off your ass and make another one.

I don't care if you don't want to. Just do it or I'll Sneak to Florida and kiss your face while you're sleeping.

Here, we have the Jurassic Park entrance. Ignore that.

*Sings "Jurassic Park" theme with his beautiful voice*

Yeah, it's supposed to be, you know, kind of old and abandoned.

Then, over here, you got Tim and Lex.

These guys are looking real good right about now.

So, we have them in the tour car.

And over here is the honey bucket.

That's where these lines end, cus I'm gunna have a whole bunch of other stuffs over here.

Then, this line also ends here. I want to sort of encase, or, like, sort of enclose this area over here, but that will obviously be one of the last things.

Cus it won't get much attention. I mean my whole M.O.C. won't get much attention, but you you get my point.

I added a bit more foliage here.

I think some pieces just fell over and I put them back together

We still have the T-Rex.

Over here, we have the new Dilophosaurus from the Dilophosaurus Outpost set.

Choke me, daddy.

Which is where I got these cables here and here.

I need to get one more of a set to get cables for the other side as well as this for here.

If you watch the film, you you can't really see where the top of the crane is.

It just kind of comes out of nowhere.

So, I thought it would be funny, obviously it's not going to hold on to that, it's gunna be on the other side. I need one more Stygimoloch set.

What's the Stygimoloch set name? I don't know. There're so many. I can't even remember these names.

It'll just be, like, a Raptor is over here, paying attention to the food, rather than the raw human.

The crusty, old, used hag, operating the crane.

We got this area over here.

I think I need to extend this area out a bit.

But whatever, I don't care.

We have the best the biggest crossover of all time.

It's not going to be the "Jurassic World" livestream on June 23rd.

(More info on that later)

It's a Pachycephalosaurus and Stygimoloch. Oh, look at their stubby little arms. It's so cute. These arms are stubbier than my brothers.

Oh, wait.

(Mumbling)

I didn't know stubby was normal. Then, over here, on this-

Jayden - Meh.

Shut up, bitch. I'm filming. Anywa-

Jayden - meh

Shut up. Over here, we got this curved - Please focus.

Bitch! Okay, we have this curved tile over here with the this sticker on.

And, again, another one of these Dilophosaurus Outpost sets. I still don't know how I remembered that name. and then that goes there.

That's pretty much it. Ignore all this.

I don't know what this is. I'm too lazy to clean up.

And this is the greatest film of all time.

If you don't think it's great, you're a racist.

Unless you're white. If you like it, you're racist. It's only for black people.

Although, there're white people in it, too, but whatever.

Doesn't matter. In here, we still have this.

Choke me daddy.

You know, we have all this stuffs over here.

Finally got this set. Finally. I also have a second one.

In a minute, I'm gunna show the process of me creating a hair/hat combo from "Jurassic World: The Video Game".

I'm also going to use this sticker for...

...Probably as an updated one for here, even though it doesn't say "Jurassic Park".

It's still a good sticker for that.

I think it'd be funny to put John Williams here, since he's the composer, although there's really no piano involved.

I don't care.

We got the Velociraptor here.

I'm going to have the other one probably going through the kitchen, where my second set of Tim and Lex figures will be.

Over here, we got-

Where's that Asian guy?

Dr. Wu. Here he is!

Here we go. This goes over here. I know it shows a Stygimoloch.

I need to find a way to make it look like there's a dino being studied, but you can't tell which one.

Fucking nailed it.

We have Dr. Wu over here. He's doing his own thing.

He's impregnating the egg, so dinosaurs can come back.

That's it, I guess.

It won't focus! So, yeah, you can kind of see here that I drew a green line from sharpie.

I didn't really exactly plan out how to do that, but I basically traced it with the fedora.

Yeah, now he has a bald spot on his head.

I just need to grind it down a little bit, now, towards the back with this.

Whoops.

I was going to find sandpaper, but I couldn't find any and this was faster, anyways.

That will not focus! You can kind of tell that's like this. I'll have to get that off somehow.

Yeah, I think I'll just continue grinding it down until there's basically, like, a sort of curve here.

So, I am done. I just super glued it.

I just need to wait for it to dry.

I'm just pleasantly surprised with this turned out.

Aaand it's still not dry, although it is drying.

I have a bit of a request.

I'm going to be in a big live stream, you know, the one that I mentioned earlier.

It's featuring me, obviously, just2good, MandRproductions, Brick Worlds, Dalek Bricks, and a few others I can't really remember.

And it's all going to be on Brother From Another Brick's channel. So, that's gunna be awesome. We're going to talk about things.

Mostly related to Jurassic Park/Jurassic World, because it's a live stream revolving around LEGO Jurassic World and it will be on the 23rd.

I will most likely be live-streaming in a bounce house.

You'll see why on the live stream.

You'll get to see my finished Alan Grant minifigure with the hair/hat combo for the first time on that stream.

So, that's pretty fun.

I'll also be building more of my Raptor pen.

I'll be expanding on that on the livestream. We're just gunna have a good ol' romp.

So, be there.

It's tomorrow

Saturday, June 23rd.

Remember that.

And I have another video coming later today on this channel.

But, it's a stupid shit post. So, just be there at 2 p.m. Central Time.

Where I am, Pacific, it's noon.

It'll be pretty fun.

That's really all have to say. It's just gunna be a big event and it'll be pretty cool.

Here are the rectangles, you know what to do.

Heres my first Jurassic Park episode and then here's whatever YouTube wants you to watch.

Actually, I'll make it MandRproductions' building Hoth Episode 1. It's a good series for what it was.

Top 5 Vice Presidents in American History - Duration: 12:30.

I'm Mr. Beat, and sometimes it seems that Vice Presidents just don't get any love, they don't get any respect.

Kimmel: When your Vice President, Dick Cheney. When he shot that guy in the face. (laughter)

How did he tell you? Did he call you? Did he come in and close the door?

Well every time Cheney would come in a lot of people would yell "duck!"

(laughter)

Hahahahaha.

Yep, they're always the butt of a joke.

The U.S. Constitution says the Vice President has two main jobs.

To cast a vote in the Senate to break a 50-50 tie, which has actually been happening more and more lately, and to certify the official vote count for the Electoral College.

Biden: Of the 115th Congress, the Chair declares the joint session dissolved.

That's it. Sure, the Vice President is first line to be President if the President dies, but there's really just an 18% chance of that happening if you look at all of American history.

18%. That seems a little high?

And sure, the Vice President often is involved with a lot of diplomatic work or helps the President with certain projects or issues, but in those cases he is working FOR the President, not independent of him.

But the Vice President position wasn't even required until the 25th Amendment was ratified in 1967.

That means, before then, if the Vice President died while in office, he didn't have to be replaced!

Oh and before that, it wasn't 100 percent clear the Vice President could take the President's job if HE died, he just sort of did anyway.

Thanks John Tyler.

Speaking of John Tyler, he did not make this list. Here are the top 5 Vice Presidents in American History, in my opinion.

This is yet another opinion video. I apologize for that.

This time, I better reveal that I am judging them based on their actions over their entire adult lives, not just during their time as Veep.

Also, Vice Presidents who also later became President are exempt from this list.

This is probably a good time to mention that this video is made in conjunction with Mr. Betts.

He just released a video counting down his top 5 Presidents who took over not getting elected, but because the previous President died and they were the Veep, so that's how they took over.

Be sure to check out that video after this one is over.

Not right now. No no no, please

Please stick around for this video. Watch his video...AFTER.

Ok? Don't leave.

Ok, so here are my top 5 Vice Presidents in American history.

#5 - Walter Mondale

Mondale, who is still alive and kicking, served as Vice President with President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981.

While many historians say Carter was a fairly weak President, at the same time many historians say Mondale was one of the better Vice Presidents the U.S. has ever had.

He certainly brought a lot more power to the position.

Unlike any Veep before, he had a much more hands-on approach within the Carter administration.

Even if I don't agree with all of Mondale's political views, I've always admired his dedication and life-long service to the country.

The son of a music teacher and minister. He joined the Army during the Korean War to pay for law school.

He later became the Attorney General of Minnesota. While in that position he fought for Gideon and others to have the right to a lawyer in the famous case Gideon v. Wainwright.

He then went on to represent his state in the U.S. Senate for 12 years.

As a Senator, he was known as a champion for civil rights, and one of his biggest accomplishments was helping get the Fair Housing Act passed.

He was a Democrat, but rarely shied away from working with and compromising with Republicans while in office.

He ran for President in 1984 against the very popular Ronald Reagan, and sure, got his butt kicked, but it was pretty cool how he was the first to candidate for a major political party to have a female candidate, Geraldine Ferraro, run with him.

She would have been the first female Vice President in American history had they won.

Overall, he's a nice guy whose heart always seemed to be in the right place.

#4- Henry Wilson

The Vice President from 1873 to 1875 and who served with President Ulysses Grant.

Radical Republican, a dude way way ahead of his time.

It seemed he was fighting for African American rights and worker rights back before anyone was.

He helped start the Free Soil Party, a political party literally started to stop the expansion of slavery.

I'd argue that no one fought Slave Power more than Wilson.

Later a Republican, he was a Senator for his home state of Massachusetts for 18 years.

As Senator, two different members of Congress challenged him to a duel but he politely declined them.

One of them was Preston Brooks, the dude who beat Charles Sumner almost to death with a cane on the Senate floor.

After Wilson called the caning "brutal, murderous, and cowardly," which was factually accurate I might add, Brooks then challenged Wilson to a duel.

After Wilson declined the duel, he told journalists "I have sought no controversy, and I seek none, but I shall go where duty requires, uninfluenced by threats of any kind."

What a dignified son of a gun.

Also, he was really in tune with his constituents.

He constantly traveled around his home state to stay in close touch with their opinions, always taking polls, and long before Gallup existed.

And he was intelligent. He was more about his principles than following any group, and so sometime was at odds with his own political party.

#3- William Wheeler

Well hey, he was the Vice President after Wilson.

Great job, 1870s!

Too bad your ACTUAL presidents weren't as good as your VPs were.

Yeah Wheeler was Veep with President Rutherford Hayes from 1877 to 1881.

Man did Wheeler have integrity, and the dude was one of the most honest politicians in the history of country.

He was modest, thoughtful, and did not make rash decisions- he was careful to get all sides of an issue before making a decision.

He represented various district in New York in Congress for 10 years, off and on, before becoming one of the most obscure Vice President nominees ever in the crazy election of 1876.

While in Congress, he was another huge advocate for civil rights.

When Congress voted to give itself a pay raise, he voted to not give himself one in protest.

He was low-key. He did more listening than speaking. But when he spoke, he made an impact.

He had the best words. Here's a sample:

"[W]e owe it to the cause of universal civil liberty, we owe it to the struggling liberalism of the old world,...that every man...of whatever race or color, or however poor, helpless, or lowly he may be, in virtue of his manhood, is entitled to the full employment of every right appertaining to the most exalted citizenship."

He got along with everyone, but that didn't mean he was easily influenced.

And so morally sound, he even turned down taxpayer money to build a post office in his hometown because he didn't want it to be seen as special treatment.

#2 - George Clinton

No no no, not THAT George Clinton.

Yes, that George Clinton. Man, we always get those two confused now, don't we?

Not only was Clinton one of only two Vice Presidents to serve in two different administrations, he also was the first governor of New York, serving a total of 21 years.

Woahness. 21 years?!?

Yes, 21 years! The 2nd-longest tenure in American history.

And he was also a, I don't know, Founding Freaking Father.

He was a delegate to the Second Continental Congress, was actually governor during the American Revolution, even leading forces in the war while he was governor.

After the war, as the new country suffered from some growing pains, Clinton originally supported Alexander Hamilton's calls for a stronger national government,

but after Hamilton and his supporters called for tariffs, he turned against them.

He wasn't stupid. He knew that tariffs would greatly hurt New York's economy.

Later, he became a full-on Anti-Federalist, speaking out against the Constitution after the Constitutional Convention.

With his help, the Framers added the Bill of Rights in 1791 to weakened the federal government.

So thank you George for the Bill of Rights. Thank you.

Sure, he didn't do much as Vice President for both President Thomas Jefferson and later President James Madison, but most Veeps didn't for reasons I stated earlier.

The fact is, many Americans really wanted George Clinton to be President due to his legendary status as an important early figure in American history.

That legendary status got him a few electoral votes in those early Presidential elections.

A reminder that I have a series covering ever Presidential election in American history. Check 'em out!

#1- Henry Wallace

What? Two Henrys on this list! Oh Henry!

Henry Wallace was President Franklin Roosevelt's Vice President from 1941 to 1945, during the World War Two years.

But it's not that war that he is known for.

Actually, hardly anyone knows about him period, so here are some highlights.

For starters, he hung out with George Washington Carver as a kid, so that's cool.

He grew up in Iowa, went to Iowa State, where he studied animal breeding and care.

He mixed his passion for statistics and science with agriculture, writing about his findings and later founding a company called the Hi-Bred Corn Company, which eventually made him filthy rich.

He followed in his father's footsteps after Franklin Roosevelt appointed him Secretary of Agriculture in 1933.

Some say he was one the smartest the US ever had in that position, despite the fact that he told farmers to destroy their crops and kill their pigs to raise prices and get them out of the Depression.

Don't worry, though, much of those pigs were given to the poor so they could eat.

And it worked. Prices went up.

I know it sounds messed up.

The main reason why I like Wallace is that he was so forward thinking.

He called for universal healthcare, an end to the Cold War, and an end to segregation and imperialism long before almost everyone else.

He called for a humble foreign policy when he later ran for President in 1948.

He got his butt kicked in that election, by the way, and way worse than Mondale got his butt kicked.

In many ways, he was a socialist, which you guys probably already know I am not a big fan of, but

I can forgive his economic beliefs by just looking at the fact that he was such a visionary.

Many historians today call Henry Wallace an ineffective politician, a naive dreamer, and just plain weird.

And he was all three of those things, but I frankly see those things as positives.

So there you have it.

And remember to check out Mr. Betts counting down his top 5 Presidents who used to be Vice Presidents but took over after the President died.

Let's check in on him to see if that video is done.

I'm gonna call him right now.

(phone rings)

(phone rings)

Mr. Betts: Hey Mr. Beat

Mr. Betts! I was just checking to see if your video was ready to go.

Mr. Betts: Oh yeah, yeah. The video's almost done.

There's just a couple more clips that I gotta put in.

and just a tweak of the color grading-

Mr. Beat - Great!

Mr. Betts: Hello? Hel-

(frantically typing)

So yeah go check it out and subscribe to MrBettsClass while you're over there.

Thanks to my newest Patreon supporters John Johnson, Beau Branch, and Kyle Noyes!

Thank you so much for your support. I'll be back next Friday with a new episode of Compared.

Thanks for watching everybody.

The video's over.

Finally. I kind of dragged on a little bit there. I'm sorry about that.

I'm still dragging on. I should just stop-

Train Up a Child - Duration: 28:34.

ANNOUNCER: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN MADE POSSIBLE

BY THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: WELL, THERE ARE VERY FEW THINGS IN LIFE

OF GREATER IMPORTANCE THAN TEACHING CHILDREN

THE WORD OF GOD AND GUIDING THEM

TO A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST.

PROVERBS 22:6 INSTRUCTS US TO TRAIN UP A CHILD

IN THE WAY THEY SHOULD GO AND EVEN WHEN THEY'RE OLD,

THEY WON'T DEPART FROM IT.

I'VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF TEACHING GOD'S WORD

NOW FOR OVER 42 YEARS, AND I BELIEVE

IT'S VERY IMPORTANT, NOT ONLY FOR ADULTS

TO HEAR AND LEARN THE WORD OF GOD

BUT FOR CHILDREN TO LEARN THE WORD OF GOD.

AND SO, EVERY JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES

HAND OF HOPE CHILDREN'S OUTREACH--

AND WE HAVE LOTS OF THEM-- TEACHES ABOUT GOD'S LOVE

WHILE ALSO PROVIDING A SOLUTION TO A PRACTICAL NEED

LIKE FOOD OR WATER.

YOU KNOW, IT'S A GREAT PRIVILEGE TO HEAR HOW GOD IS USING

OUR PROGRAMS TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS

OF CHILDREN EVERY DAY, AND YOU'RE ALSO A BIG PART

OF THAT.

SO, I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE SOME OF THEIR REMARKABLE STORIES

WITH YOU.

TAKE A LOOK.

MALE: OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN,

HALLOWED BE THY NAME.

GINGER: SHARING GOD'S LOVE IS AT THE CENTER OF ALL WE DO HERE

AT JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES OUTREACH ARM HAND OF HOPE

TO REACH SUFFERING AROUND THE WORLD,

AND WE ARE ESPECIALLY COMMITTED TO HELPING CHILDREN,

WHO ARE OFTEN THE MOST VULNERABLE.

LAST YEAR ALONE WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY

TO REGULARLY FEED NEARLY 80,000 CHILDREN

WHO ATTEND OUR 748 FEEDING PROGRAM SITES

IN OVER 30 COUNTRIES.

AND EVERY ACT OF LOVE, WHETHER IT'S FEEDING A CHILD,

PROVIDING A CLEAN WATER SOURCE TO A COMMUNITY,

ADMINISTERING MEDICAL CARE, PROVIDING SHELTER,

OR RESCUING A CHILD FROM JUST UNIMAGINABLE PERILS,

IS AN OPEN DOOR FOR US TO TEACH EACH CHILD

ABOUT GOD'S LOVE AND THAT HE OR SHE HAS A PURPOSE

AND A PLAN FOR THEIR LIFE.

MALE: IN THE POWER OF THE LORD

FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN.

GINGER: TODAY I'M AT OUR ST. LOUIS

DREAM CENTER, AN INNER CITY OUTREACH FOUNDED

BY JOYCE AND DAVE MEYER TO HELP HURTING PEOPLE

LIVING IN THE VERY CITY IN WHICH THEY GREW UP TO INSPIRE

THEM TO DREAM AGAIN.

LIKE MANY OF OUR URBAN COMMUNITIES,

ST. LOUIS IS A CITY THAT IS ALL TOO FAMILIAR WITH

THE HEARTACHE OF VIOLENCE.

IT CAN BE A HARSH REALITY FOR OUR CHILDREN THAT LIVE

IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

IN FACT, THE F.B.I.

HAS DOCUMENTED AT LEAST 92 SEPARATE GANGS HERE

THAT ARE RECRUITING OUR YOUTH BY THE THOUSANDS.

IF EVER THERE'S A TIME TO BRING OUR CHILDREN

BACK TO THE CHURCH, BACK TO GOD, IT IS NOW.

AND THE DESIRE TO SHARE CHRIST, ESPECIALLY TO CHILDREN,

IN THIS AREA AND AROUND THE WORLD, IS AT THE HEART

OF JOYCE AND DAVE'S MISSION TO HELP AS MANY HURTING PEOPLE

AS WE POSSIBLY CAN.

AS JOYCE SAYS WHEN YOU HELP A CHILD,

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND YEARS TRYING TO REPAIR AN ADULT,

AND ONE MAN IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW TEACHING THE WORD OF GOD

TO CHILDREN PROVIDES A STRONG AND LASTING FOUNDATION

FOR THEM TO LEARN AND BUILD ON.

HE PERSONALLY UNDERSTANDS THE TRIALS OF GROWING UP

IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

HIS LIFE COULD HAVE TAKEN A VERY DIFFERENT DIRECTION,

BUT TODAY HE'S THE SENIOR PASTOR OF THE ST. LOUIS DREAM CENTER,

TONY GILMORE.

TONY: FOR THE PEOPLE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD,

IT CAN BE PRETTY TOUGH.

I MEAN, THERE'S SOME GREAT PEOPLE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD

WHO'VE GROWN UP AND BEEN BORN INTO SOME

VERY DIFFICULT SITUATIONS.

SO, POVERTY IS A HUGE PART OF WHAT PEOPLE DEAL WITH

IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

A SCHOOL SYSTEM THAT'S SOMEWHAT FAILING THE KIDS

IS ANOTHER CHALLENGE, AND THEN JUST AN OVERALL

SENSE OF HOPELESSNESS THAT CAN COME INTO

THE HEART OF A PERSON WHO'S TRIED EVERYTHING

THAT THEY KNOW TO DO AND NOTHING HAS SEEMED TO CHANGE.

GINGER: GROWING UP IN THIS AREA, WHY IS YOUR LIFE

WHERE IT IS RIGHT NOW?

TONY: FOR ME, IT WAS BASEBALL.

I SAW MYSELF AS BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THIS SITUATION

THROUGH MY ABILITY TO PLAY BASEBALL.

IT WAS THE THING THAT KEPT ME AWAY FROM GANGS

BECAUSE I WAS TOO BUSY WITH PRACTICES.

IT WAS THE THING THAT KEPT ME AWAY

FROM SOME OF THE DRUG ACTIVITY BECAUSE I WANTED TO KEEP

MY BODY IN SHAPE BECAUSE I WANTED TO PLAY SPORTS.

SO, SPORTS CAN REALLY DID A GREAT JOB OF HELPING RAISE ME

UNTIL GOD GOT AHOLD OF MY HEART.

GINGER: SO, YOU'RE CONTINUING THAT EXPERIENCE NOW

AND MAKING THAT A POSSIBILITY FOR OTHER BOYS AND GIRLS.

TONY: I MEAN, SPORTS WAS A GREAT WAY

TO BRIDGE THE GAP OF THE INFLUENCE OF SPORTS

AND CHRIST TOGETHER TO HELP CHILDREN

FULFILL THE DREAMS THAT ARE IN THEM, AND THEY FULFILL

THEIR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE.

GINGER: AND THAT VISION WAS THE IMPETUS FOR

THE DREAM CENTER SPORTS PROGRAM.

THIS YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM USES SPORTS TO TRAIN

BOYS AND GIRLS FROM AGES 5 TO 13

ON THE FUNDAMENTALS OF TEAM AND CHARACTER BUILDING

ON AND OFF THE FIELD.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS HAND OF HOPE OUTREACH

IS TEACHING THEM ABOUT CHRIST AS WELL AS

PROVIDING THEM WITH A SAFE HAVEN DURING THEIR FREE TIME

AFTER SCHOOL.

TONY: SO, THE HOURS BETWEEN 3 P.M. AND 7 P.M.

ARE WHAT WE CALL THE RED ZONE FOR KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

THAT'S THE TIME WHERE THEY GET IN TROUBLE THE MOST,

BECAUSE IN MOST CASES, SCHOOL LETS OUT ABOUT THAT TIME

AND PARENTS DON'T GET HOME UNTIL ABOUT 7, SO WE FEEL LIKE

IF WE CAN OFFER SPORTING ACTIVITIES DURING THAT TIME,

AS WELL AS ON THE WEEKENDS, WE MITIGATE SOME OF THOSE

CHANCES OF GETTING INTO GANG ACTIVITY

AND GETTING CAUGHT UP IN DRUGS.

AND IT ALSO OFFERS A GREAT MOTIVATOR

FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS, BECAUSE IN OUR PROGRAMS,

WE HAVE THE KIDS AGREE THAT THEY'LL KEEP A C AVERAGE

TO MAINTAIN THEIR POSITION ON OUR TEAM.

GINGER: ALL OF IT, AT LEAST HERE WITH

THE DREAM CENTER, REALLY DOES LEAD TO

THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY WITH THEM AND TO SHARE

CHRIST WITH THEM.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT THROUGH THIS PROGRAM?

TONY: WELL, ONE OF THE WAYS WE DO IT IS IN OUR PRACTICES.

SO, AS A PART OF OUR PRACTICES, THE KIDS GO THROUGH

A 20--PROBABLY 15, 20-MINUTE DEVOTIONAL

AT THE END OF THE PRACTICE.

THE COACHES PRAY WITH THE KIDS AT THE GAMES,

WHICH IS REALLY NEAT.

GINGER: AND THAT'S THE NEXT STEP IS BUILDING

THAT CHARACTER IN THERE.

TONY: YEAH, WE BELIEVE THAT THROUGH SPORTS,

WHEN YOU DO IT RIGHT, YOU CAN BUILD A KID'S CONFIDENCE

AND THAT CONFIDENCE CAN TRANSFER FROM THE FIELD

TO THE CLASSROOM.

GINGER: WHAT A WONDERFUL THING, TOO,

ESPECIALLY FOR A CHILD WHO MAY NOT BE GETTING THAT AT HOME,

MAY NOT BE GETTING THAT AT SCHOOL

AND SUDDENLY FEELS A WORTH AND A VALUE AND A LOVE

THAT CAN CHANGE THEIR ENTIRE LIFE.

TONY: IT'S TRUE AND IT'S-- YOU KNOW, WE ALWAYS SAY

IN OUR LINE OF WORK, WE PROBABLY SPEND 40

TO 50 HOURS A YEAR WITH A CHILD VERSUS OVER 3,000 HOURS

THAT THEY SPEND AT HOME.

SO, WE KNOW IT'S AN UPHILL BATTLE,

BUT WE SIMPLY BELIEVE THAT THE SEED

OF THE WORD OF GOD, THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED,

GOES IN AND IT WILL GO AND DO WHAT'S IT SUPPOSED TO DO,

EVEN IN THE MIDST OF THE DARKEST SITUATIONS.

MALE: "NO EYE HAS SEEN, NO EARS HAS HEARD,

NO MIND HAS IMAGINED WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED

FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM," 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9.

TONY: SO, MY MOTIVATOR EVERY SINGLE DAY

IS TO GIVE TO EVERY MAN, WOMAN, AND CHILD THE OPPORTUNITY

TO KNOW THE GOD WHO CHANGED MY LIFE

AND HELP THEM TO WALK THROUGH THAT PROCESS.

GINGER: SO, TELL ME WHY THE PERSON WATCHING RIGHT NOW,

WHY SHOULD THEY REACH OUT TO HELP A CHILD IN THE HEART

OF ST. LOUIS?

TONY: YOU KNOW, I FEEL LIKE WE'RE BLESSED

TO BE A BLESSING, AND GOD HAS DONE SO MANY THINGS

IN THE LIVES OF OUR PARTNERS AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE

THAT SOW INTO JOYCE MEYER MINISTRY

THAT I THINK, FOR ME, IT'S MY RESPONSIBILITY

TO GIVE BACK.

HOW CAN I TAKE WHAT I HAVE AND BE ABLE TO HELP THEM

IN WHATEVER WAY I CAN?

GINGER: AND WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE POTENTIAL

FOR THESE CHILDREN, IT'S REALLY ENCOURAGING

TO LOOK AT WHAT GOD MIGHT SEE INSTEAD OF WHAT SOMEBODY

ELSE MIGHT SEE.

FEMALE: MY DREAM IS TO-- MY DREAM IS TO WORSHIP GOD

EVERY DAY.

TONY: WHEN A PERSON FINDS THEIR PURPOSE,

YOUR BACKGROUND DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE,

AND THAT'S WHAT WE GET TO DO AT JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES,

THAT'S WHAT OUR PARTNERS ARE A PART OF,

HELPING THESE YOUNG KIDS FIND THEIR PURPOSE

AND OVERCOME THEIR OBSTACLES.

GINGER: AND SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A BASEBALL LEAGUE

OR A BASKETBALL LEAGUE CAN BE THE FOUNDATION

THAT YOU BUILD FROM.

TONY: IT'S TRUE.

SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A GAME CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE

IN A CHILD'S ETERNAL DESTINY SIMPLY BECAUSE SOMEONE

DECIDED TO SOW INTO THEIR LIFE.

MALE: GOOD JOB, GOOD JOB.

THAT'S A NICE JOB.

THAT'S A NICE JOB.

GINGER: AS YOU JUST SAW, SOWING INTO A CHILD'S DESTINY

RAISES UP FINE MEN, SUCH AS PASTOR TONY,

WHO HAVE A HEART TO IN TURN HELP OTHER CHILDREN.

IT'S A CYCLE.

THE MORE PEOPLE WE CAN HELP, THE MORE CHILDREN

WE CAN BRING OUT OF DIFFICULT, TRYING CIRCUMSTANCES

AND HELP THEM TO GROW INTO ADULTS WHO LOVE CHRIST,

THE MORE DIFFERENCE WE'LL MAKE, NOT ONLY IN THEIR LIVES,

BUT IN THEIR FAMILIES, IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS,

AND IN THE WORLD.

SO, TOGETHER WE WANT TO CONTINUE DOING THAT ONE CHILD AT A TIME,

BUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS

OF CHILDREN'S LIFE AROUND THE WORLD.

WE NEED YOU TO JOIN US SO THAT WE CAN DO EVEN MORE.

I KNOW YOU HAVE A HEART FOR CHILDREN.

I KNOW THAT'S WHY YOU'RE WATCHING RIGHT NOW.

MAYBE YOU ALSO HAVE A PARTICULAR HEART

FOR THE INNER CITY OR FOR FEEDING CHILDREN

OR FOR REACHING OUT TO HELP CHILDREN

WHO'VE BEEN HURT IN OTHER WAYS.

TOGETHER WE CAN DO THOSE THINGS THAT MAYBE YOU COULD

NOT DO ALONE.

SO, I WANT TO ASK YOU A GIVE A SPECIAL GIFT RIGHT NOW.

WHEN YOU GIVE A GIFT TO JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES,

YOU ACTIVATE ALL OF OUR HAND OF HOPE OUTREACHES

THAT ARE HELPING CHILDREN TODAY, RIGHT HERE,

AND EVERY DAY AROUND THE WORLD.

SO, IT'S NOT A HARD DECISION, BUT WE ASK YOU TO PRAY ABOUT IT,

SEE WHAT GOD WOULD ASK YOU TO DO,

DON'T WAIT.

BY CALLING THE NUMBER YOU SEE ON YOUR SCREEN

WE CAN DO SO MUCH TOGETHER.

THERE ARE MANY, MANY CHILDREN TO HELP, AND WE WILL SEE

AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN.

ANNOUNCER: TODAY, FOR YOUR DONATION

OF ANY AMOUNT TOWARDS THE OUTREACHES OF HAND OF HOPE,

WE'D LIKE TO SEND YOU JOYCE'S BOOK, "PROMISES

FOR YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE."

OR GO TO JOYCEMEYER.ORG.

GINGER: YOU KNOW, WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT SHARING

CHRIST WITHOUT TELLING YOU ABOUT LOVING PEOPLE.

THE TWO GO HAND IN HAND, ESPECIALLY FOR THE CHILDREN IN

OUR HAND OF HOPE OUTREACHES AROUND THE GLOBE.

FOR INSTANCE, WE ARE IMPACTING THOUSANDS OF LIVES WITH OUR

WATER WELL PROJECTS.

HAND OF HOPE HAS WATER PROJECTS IN OVER 30 COUNTRIES,

AND THIS YEAR CELEBRATES OUR 1000TH WATER WELL,

HALF OF WHICH INCLUDE A COMMUNITY CHURCH.

ONE PLACE JUST LIKE THAT IS LOCATED DEEP IN AFRICA'S

REMOTE TANZANIAN BUSH COUNTRY.

THERE WE ARE WORKING WITH MISSIONARIES,

GILL AND HIS AMERICAN-BORN WIFE DOLFI, TO SHARE CHRIST

WITH THE PREVIOUSLY UNREACHED PEOPLE CALLED THE DATOGA,

AND THE RESULT'S BEEN REALLY REMARKABLE,

ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS.

GINGER: THE TWO OF YOU WERE REALLY FOCUSED ON SHARING CHRIST

AND PLANTING CHURCHES, SO WHY NOW ARE YOU

IN THE EDUCATION BUSINESS AS WELL?

DOLFI: ONE OF THE THINGS WE SAW--I MEAN ORIGINALLY,

JUST LIKE YOU SAY, OUR FOCUS WAS CHURCH PLANTING,

BUT WHEN YOU COME OUT INTO AN AREA LIKE THIS

AND YOU REALIZE THE NEEDS, I MEAN, HOW CAN PEOPLE

ACCEPT THE LORD IF THERE'S NO WATER?

HOW CAN THEY, YOU KNOW, IF THEIR LIFE IS STRUGGLING

THE WHOLE TIME?

AND SO, ONE OF THE THINGS WE SAW AS SOON AS A GIRL

BECOMES ANYWHERE FROM THE AGE OF PUBERTY ON

BEFORE SHE'S MARRIED, AND A BOY FROM PUBERTY UP

UNTIL ABOUT 44, 45 YEARS OLD, THEY HAVE THESE MANDATORY

VILLAGE MEETINGS FOR THEM AND IN THAT MEETING THEY'LL SAY,

"THIS GIRL WILL HAVE TO SLEEP WITH THIS MAN TONIGHT."

AND WE REALIZE THAT THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.

THIS PART OF THE CULTURE IS JUST SO DARK

AND IT NEEDED TO CHANGE.

AND THE GOVERNMENT IN TANZANIA IS GREAT IN THE SENSE

THAT ONCE A CHILD'S NAME IS WRITTEN DOWN

INTO THE SCHOOL LEDGER, THEY CAN NO LONGER BE

INVOLVED IN THESE TYPE OF MEETINGS.

AND SO, WHEN WE SAW THAT IF WE START BRINGING IN SCHOOLS,

IT WILL PULL THESE LITTLE GIRLS AND LITTLE CHILDREN,

BASICALLY, OUT OF THIS TYPE OF LIFESTYLE THAT WE KNOW

WE HAVE TO DO THIS.

AND THAT'S WHAT STARTED THIS ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP,

AND HAND OF HOPE HAS JUST BEEN WITH US

ALL THE WAY GOING FROM CHURCH-- GINGER: SO, PLANTING

A SCHOOL NOT ONLY EDUCATES, NOT ONLY TAKES A GROUP

OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE A 99% ILLITERACY RATE,

SO THEREFORE, IT CAN START CHANGING

THAT PROCESS OF POVERTY, BUT IT ALSO INTRODUCES THEM

TO CHRIST SO THEY'RE ABLE TO LEARN ABOUT GOD'S WORD,

AND IT REMOVES THEM FROM THAT SYSTEM WHERE THEY WERE

BEING SO HORRIBLY ABUSED.

DOLFI: SO, WE SAW THAT SCHOOLS WERE DEFINITELY

THE WAY FOR THE GOSPEL TO GO FORWARD AND BRING

SO MUCH CHANGE THAT WILL HELP THE DATOGA OVERALL.

GINGER: YEAH, AND WE DO KNOW THAT WITHIN ONE GENERATION,

EDUCATION CAN TURN A CYCLE OF ABUSE AND POVERTY AROUND.

DOLFI: OH YEAH, IT ABSOLUTELY.

BUT ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS, ASIDE OF EDUCATION ITSELF,

IS SO MANY OF THESE YOUNG GIRLS HAVE ACCEPTED CHRIST

AND SAME WITH THE YOUNG BOYS.

AND AS THESE KIDS GROW UP AND THEN START GETTING MARRIED,

THEIR LIVES WILL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

BECAUSE IT'S CHRIST-CENTERED.

GINGER: WE WITNESSED FIRSTHAND HOW TRAINING

THE CHILDREN TO LIVE A CHRIST-CENTERED LIFE

IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR ALL THE DATOGA PEOPLE,

ESPECIALLY FOR A NINE-YEAR-OLD GIRL

NAMED MARIA.

DOLFI: MARIA IS A SWEET LITTLE DATOGA GIRL,

AND AT SOME POINT WHEN SHE WAS BORN,

THE FAMILY CONSIDERED THAT THERE WAS A CURSE

OVER THE FAMILY AND THAT HER BIRTH HAD SOME DIFFICULTY.

SO, THEY WENT TO A WITCHDOCTOR, AND THEY HAD HIM

DO SOME MEDICINE AND PUT THIS EARRING IN HER EAR.

AND IF SHE WERE TO EVER REMOVE THAT,

ACCORDING TO THEIR TRADITIONS, THAT SHE WOULD PROBABLY

PASS AWAY.

NOW, THIS IS PART OF THE DARKNESS

THAT THEY'RE LIVING UNDER.

SHE, HOWEVER, HAS ACCEPTED CHRIST AS HER LORD AND SAVIOR.

SHE'S STILL VERY YOUNG, BUT AT A POINT IN TIME

WHERE SHE FEELS THAT SHE'S ABLE TO TAKE IT OUT

IN FRONT OF HER FAMILY, IT'LL BE A GREAT TESTIMONY

BECAUSE HER FAMILY WILL NOT ALLOW HER

TO TAKE IT OUT.

BUT WHEN SHE GETS TO A POINT WHERE

SHE'S OLD ENOUGH AND SAYS, "I'M GONNA TAKE IT OUT

REGARDLESS," THEY'LL SEE THAT SHE ISN'T GONNA DROP OVER

AND THAT GOD IS BIGGER THAN ALL THIS WITCHCRAFT

THAT THEY BELIEVE IN, AND IT'LL BE A GREAT TESTIMONY

TO THE GLORY OF GOD.

GINGER: THIS IS REALLY EXCITING.

RECENTLY WE HEARD AN UPDATE ON MARIA.

NOW, AS YOU SAW, MARIA WAS JUST A DELIGHTFUL GIRL.

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH HER.

SHE HAD ACCEPTED THE LORD EARLY IN 2016 AND LOVES HIM SO MUCH,

BUT HOWEVER HARD SHE TRIED TO BE A GOOD STUDENT,

SHE WAS STRUGGLING.

SO, ONE DAY IN HER PRAYER TIME AT SCHOOL, THE LORD IMPRESSED

ON HER TO REMOVE THE EARRING THAT SHE HAD WORN SINCE BIRTH.

NOW, THAT WAS KIND OF INTIMIDATING,

BUT IT WAS TIME FOR HER TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST WHAT

THAT WITCHDOCTOR HAD TOLD EVERYONE

BECAUSE NOW SHE WAS NOT THAT WITCHDOCTOR'S,

SHE WAS IN GOD'S HANDS.

SO, HER FAMILY AND EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT KNOW THE LORD

WERE REALLY AFRAID FOR HER, FOR HER HEALTH,

AND YET HERE YOU SEE IT, THAT EARRING IS MISSING.

SHE TOOK IT OUT.

SHE MADE THE DECISION.

SHE TOOK A STAND, AND NOW SHE IS FINE.

IN FACT, SHE IS FLOURISHING PHYSICALLY AND BEST OF ALL,

SHE IS NOW EXCELLING IN HER ACADEMICS

AND IS THE BEST STUDENT IN HER GRADE.

HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

AND SHE TELLS EVERYONE THAT IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF GOD

IN HER LIFE.

AND I JUST CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE WHAT MARIA'S LIFE

WOULD BE LIKE WITHOUT THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN

ABOUT CHRIST, AND NOT JUST MARIA,

BUT ALL OF HER CLASSMATES INCLUDING STEFANO WHO CHOOSES

TO FAST AND PRAYS FOR HIS FAMILY TO LET HIM ATTEND CHURCH

ON SUNDAYS.

AND LUKE, WHO ALREADY HAS BEEN CALLED TO PREACH THE GOSPEL.

THESE ARE YOUNG CHILDREN THAT TOGETHER, WE ARE SEEING

INCREDIBLE THINGS HAPPEN IN THEIR LIVES.

THESE ARE CHILDREN THAT YOU ARE HELPING TO REACH

AND MANY MORE CHILDREN THAT WE NEED TO REACH TOGETHER.

SO, I ASK YOU RIGHT NOW TO JOIN WITH US

TO MAKE A SPECIAL GIFT, BECAUSE IT'S YOUR FINANCES

THAT ENABLE US TO GO INTO THESE REMOTE PLACES.

IT'S YOUR FINANCES THAT ENABLE US TO SHARE CHRIST

RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA'S INNER CITIES.

SO, GO TO THAT WEBSITE, JOYCEMEYER.ORG, CALL US,

AND MAKE A SPECIAL GIFT THAT WILL HELP CHILDREN

ALL OVER THE WORLD.

ANNOUNCER: TODAY, FOR YOUR DONATION

OF ANY AMOUNT TOWARDS THE OUTREACHES OF HAND OF HOPE,

WE'D LIKE TO SEND YOU JOYCE'S BOOK, "PROMISES

FOR YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE."

OR GO TO JOYCEMEYER.ORG.

GINGER: OUTSIDE OF HYDERABAD, INDIA, IS AN IMPOVERISHED

GYPSY VILLAGE THAT'S NOTORIOUS FOR CRIME

AND A VERY DIFFICULT ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN TO GROW UP IN.

HOWEVER, OUR FEEDING PROGRAMS THERE HAVE GIVEN US

THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOVE THESE CHILDREN AND TO INTRODUCE

THEM TO CHRIST.

THAT'S WHERE WE MET A SWEET BOY NAMED SANDEEP.

I LOVE SANDEEP.

HE EVEN SANG FOR ME.

HIS YOUNG LIFE WAS ALREADY HEADED DOWN THE WRONG PATH.

SANDEEP WENT FROM A LIFE OF PETTY CRIME TO WANTING TO BE,

OF ALL THINGS, A POLICEMAN, AND YOU'VE HAD A BIG ROLE

IN HIS TRANSFORMATION.

GINGER: TELL ME A LITTLE BIT ABOUT SANDEEP AND HIS FAMILY.

MOHAN: WHEN SANDEEP CAME HERE, HE WAS--

HIS FAMILY WAS IN DEEP TROUBLE, AND HE WANTED TO STUDY,

BUT HE COULDN'T.

BUT NOW HE IS STUDYING WELL AND SEEING THAT PARENTS REALIZED

THAT THERE'S A CHANGE IN SANDEEP, AND THEY GAVE THEIR

LIVES TO THE LORD AS WELL.

GINGER: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT DOING WHAT'S RIGHT?

SANDEEP: YOU ARE TAUGHT NOT TO DO ANY WRONG

AND NOT TO STEAL, NOT TO CHEAT,

NOT TO SAY WRONG WORDS, AND ALSO CORRECT.

IF YOU FIND SOMEONE GOING IN THE WRONG WAY, WE HAVE

TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND CORRECT THEM.

I LIKE THIS PLACE, BECAUSE EVERY DAY

THEY TEACH US SONGS, THEY ALSO TEACH US

THE WORD OF GOD.

WE MEMORIZE WORD THERE, AND WE GET TIME

TO STUDY THE WORD.

GINGER: HOW HAVE YOU SEEN THE SPIRITUAL LIVES

OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS VILLAGE CHANGE BECAUSE

OF THE FEEDING PROGRAM?

MAHAN: BECAUSE OF THE FEEDING CENTER,

IT IS VERY EASY FOR ME TO REACH OUT TO PEOPLE

AND EARLIER IT WAS-- I HAD A VERY TOUGH TIME

REACHING OUT TO PEOPLE, SHARING THE GOSPEL,

BUT NOW IT HAS BECOME VERY EASY FOR ME

TO REACH OUT TO PEOPLE AND SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH THEM.

GINGER: SO, SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A GOOD MEAL

CAN INTRODUCE PEOPLE TO JESUS?

MAHAN: GOOD LOVE INTRODUCES JESUS TO ANYBODY,

THAT'S WHAT I THINK.

GINGER: WHEN WE INVEST GOD'S WORD INTO A CHILD,

WE SET THEM ON TO A PATH OF HOPE, LETTING THEM KNOW

THEY CAN TRANSCEND WHATEVER AND WHOEVER MIGHT BLOCK THEM

FROM ACHIEVING THEIR DREAMS AND TO GIVE THEM THE SPIRITUAL

FOUNDATION NECESSARY TO BUILD A LIFE THAT TELLS THEM

WHO THEY REALLY ARE IN CHRIST, GIVING THEM A DIFFERENT LIFE

FROM MANY OF THOSE BEFORE THEM.

AND THAT INVESTMENT OFTEN BEGINS WITH A COMMUNITY

OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE A PASSION TO TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT JESUS,

NO MATTER THE OBSTACLES.

OUR CLASSROOMS OF HOPE ARE SHINING EXAMPLES OF THAT.

WORKING TOGETHER WITH THE COMMUNITY,

YOU ARE HELPING US UTILIZE CUSTOMIZED CONTAINERS

AS A TOOL TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN WHO LIVE

IN HIGH CRIME AREAS OF THE POOREST PROVINCE

IN SOUTH AFRICA, GIVING CHILDREN A SAFE PLACE

TO LEARN ABOUT GOD AND TRANSFORMING THEIR FAMILIES.

BRAD: YOU KNOW, A LOT OF THE SCHOOLS WE'VE

COME TO BE INVOLVED IN HERE HAVE HAD A CALLING

FROM THE LORD DECADES AGO TO TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN,

AND WE HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO COME ALONGSIDE THEM

AND SERVE WHAT GOD'S ALREADY DOING IN THEIR LIVES,

COMING THERE TO SERVE, TO HELP, TO SHARE, TO LIFT UP.

GINGER: SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE

OF THE PRESCHOOL, BECAUSE AT TIMES PRESCHOOL

SEEMS LIKE AN OPTION, BUT THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT.

THIS SITUATION IS SOMEWHERE WHERE THESE CHILDREN

REALLY NEED A SAFE PLACE, AND THEY NEED THE EXTRA

EDUCATIONAL BOOST TO GIVE THEM ANY OPPORTUNITY

TO CHANGE THEIR LIFE.

BRAD: ABSOLUTELY.

I THINK IF YOU-- IF WE CAN INSTILL THAT LOVE

FOR LEARNING AT A YOUNG AGE, YOU KNOW, THESE KIDS

ARE SO SUSCEPTIBLE.

THEY'RE MOLDABLE, THEY'RE FULL OF LIFE

AND FULL OF POTENTIAL AND OFTEN LITTLE KIDS

CAN BE IGNORED AND SIDELINED AND LEFT

TO THEIR OWN DEVICES, AND PARTICULARLY IN COMMUNITIES

LIKE THESE WHERE ADULTS ARE FACING REAL CHALLENGES

IN THE COMMUNITIES JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE,

CHILDREN CAN OFTEN BE NEGLECTED.

IF THOSE KIDS ARE IN THESE LOVING ENVIRONMENTS

AND HAVE PASSIONS OF HOPE IN OUR FEEDING

AND DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAMS WITH THEM, AND THAT GIVES THEM

A GREAT FOOT UP AND A GREAT POTENTIAL

TO ACTUALLY GET OUT OF THE CYCLE OF POVERTY ONE DAY.

GINGER: AND THEY'RE SO OPEN TO LEARNING THOSE BIBLE STORIES,

TO HEARING ABOUT GOD.

AND THIS REALLY IS A BEGINNING OF A LONG WALK WITH CHRIST,

I BELIEVE, FOR MANY OF THESE CHILDREN.

HOW DO YOU HELP FACILITATE THAT RELATIONSHIP?

BRAD: SO, WE'RE PLACING BEAUTIFUL, SIMPLE,

EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND STORIES ALMOST AS A FRAMEWORK FOR FAITH

FOR THOSE KIDS SO THAT THEY CAN UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE BASICS

OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD,

AND THAT GIVES THEM A FOUNDATION TO BE BUILT ON LATER ON IN LIFE.

GINGER: THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A CHILD TO LEARN

THAT GOD HAS A PLAN FOR THEM IS HUGE IN THIS ENVIRONMENT.

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE IN THE CHILDREN

AS THEY BEGIN TO REALIZE THAT, YOU KNOW, THEY CAN BECOME

ANYTHING THEY WANT TO BECOME WITH GOD'S HELP.

BRAD: WE'RE SEEING A LOT OF THEM START TO DREAM.

I MEAN, EVEN AT A YOUNG AGE, THEY START TO FIND

A CALLING FROM GOD.

THEY START TO REALIZE THEY'RE LOVED BY JESUS.

THEY START TO REALIZE THAT GOD DOESN'T JUST HAVE

A PLAN FOR OTHER PEOPLE, GOD HAS A PLAN FOR THEM.

GINGER: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE WHEN YOU GET OLDER?

FEMALE: DOCTOR, THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE DOCTORS.

GINGER: YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE DOCTORS.

LUKHONA: POLICE.

GINGER: OH, YOU WANT TO BE POLICE.

YOU WANT TO BE POLICE AND YOU WANT TO BE A DOCTOR,

VERY GOOD.

THAT WILL BE WONDERFUL.

WHAT IS A SONG, CAN YOU SING ME A SONG?

FEMALE: [SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE]

GINGER: SING ME A SONG.

FEMALE: [SINGING]

DON: YOU KNOW, ONE DAY, WE'LL HAVE PREACHERS COMING

OUT OF THESE KIDS.

ONE DAY WE'LL HAVE PRESIDENTS COMING OUT--

OF ORGANIZATIONS AND BIG CORPORATE COMPANIES,

COMING OUT OF THESE KIDS BECAUSE WE CAN--

YOU AND I CANNOT SEE WHAT GOD HAS DEPOSITED IN EACH

ONE OF THEM.

THE BEST WE CAN DO IS TO CREATE AN OPPORTUNITY IN AN ENVIRONMENT

LIKE WE'RE DOING HERE TO NURTURE THAT,

GIVE THEM A DREAM BUT MORE THAN THAT,

INTRODUCING THEM TO THE LOVE OF GOD AT THIS AGE.

THAT, TO ME, IS PART OF IT.

ALL: [SINGING]

GINGER: WELL, IT'S BEEN LOVELY, BUT YOU KNOW,

WE HAVE ONLY SHOWN YOU A SAMPLING OF THE CHILDREN

WHOSE LIVES ARE CHANGED THROUGH GOD'S WORD

AND OUR HAND OF HOPE CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS.

THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN

THROUGHOUT THE WORLD THAT WE HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE

TO HELP TO GET TO KNOW AND TO INTRODUCE TO CHRIST

TO FEEL HIS LOVE FOR THEM, AND THERE ARE MANY,

MANY MORE TO BE REACHED.

I WISH I COULD SHARE EVERY CHILD'S REMARKABLE STORY,

BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE A PART

OF EACH CHILD'S LIFE THAT WE REACH WITH

THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST.

EVERY MEAL THAT WE FEED, EVERY WATER WELL WE DIG,

EVERY TIME WE RESCUE A CHILD OUT OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING,

AND EACH TIME WE PROVIDE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE,

YOU ARE THERE AND ARE A PART OF IT.

AND LIKE I SAID, THERE IS ALWAYS MORE TO BE DONE,

BUT YOU GET REJUVENIZED.

YOU GET SO EXHILARATED BY WHAT WE'VE BEEN ABLE

TO PART OF THAT YOU JUST WANT TO DO MORE AND MORE,

AND TOGETHER WE CAN DO THAT.

YOUR SPECIAL GIFT TODAY WILL HELP CHILDREN.

IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

THE NEEDS THAT YOU'VE SEEN, THE DIFFERENCE THAT YOU SEEN

IN CHILDREN'S LIVES, WE NEED TO CONTINUE THAT,

AND YOU CAN BE A HUGE PART OF IT.

YOUR SPECIAL GIFT RIGHT NOW IS EASY TO GIVE.

JOYCE: WELL, TOGETHER WE CAN CONTINUE SHARING

GOD'S WORD AND REACH EVEN MORE CHILDREN LIKE THE ONES

YOU HEARD ABOUT TODAY.

SO, OFTEN BEFORE WE CAN TEACH CHILDREN

ABOUT GOD, THOUGH, WE MUST SHOW THEM

HOW MUCH HE CARES ABOUT THEM.

MEETING ONE OF THEIR NEEDS IS A WAY TO DO THAT,

WHETHER IT'S THROUGH FOOD, FEEDING PROGRAMS, SHELTERS,

HOMES, WATER, GIVING THEM SAFETY,

EDUCATION, HELPING GIRLS THAT ARE VICTIMS

OF SEX TRAFFICKING.

WE NEED TO REACH OUT AND MEET THESE PRACTICAL NEEDS

AS WELL AS MEET THEIR SPIRITUAL NEEDS.

068 - Michael Goes Solo in Braunston. - Duration: 9:23.

So, a bit of an odd situation today. Or, at least a first for me.

Today, Jo's not here, she's, well, that's not a first, but it's been a while

She's had to go down to London, she's been down there for a little while with George

I, have been sitting here, sort of at the... end, I guess or the beginning, depending on your point of view of the Braunston tunnel

and um, basically I've just been, sort of, doing some work on the computer and everything, doing a little bit of shopping

going in watching some movie, saw Solo and Deadpool, both worth watching

then basically it's been a sort of a lazy couple of days

only excitement being walking to and from town to get groceries, but today

I've got to push the boat, from here across over there, breasts up against

that boat over there, wait for a mechanic who's showing up to do a little bit of a

service on our Eberspacher. It's not been not working, but it's had a little bit of

issues and stuff, and it's finally time to get it serviced, won't be too much to

that, but you know take a couple of hours, and then I'm going to have to push off

from this boat, go through the Braunston Tunnel, first time going through a

tunnel on my own, but this one's nearly a mile long. I mean I've gone through a

tunnel with Jo, sort of, above the tunnel somewhere, but there's always been this

sense that there was someone who might meet me on the other side. In this case,

no I'm gonna meet me on the other side. On the other side there's six locks, so

not really sure I'm gonna make it up most of them, or even any of them,

there's been no real traffic this morning, I don't see anybody back there

but of course I got two hours to wait so maybe it'll get busier. But with any

luck I'll be able to, hopefully, join up with someone else, otherwise I'm going up

several locks on my own, first time for that, double lock and these ones have a

reputation for being kind of nasty. So all good fun. I'm not gonna get a lot of

footage today, because at the end of the day I can't drive and take pictures, but

hopefully there'll be a little bit, I'll try and set up a time lapse on the way

through the tunnel, and so hopefully there'll be something.

Anyway good luck, hopefully this is not my last video

Right, so that's me, tied up, one very large, very large tunnel. Four locks,

one pub, over there. Pulling some stuff out of the water. Kind of a sweaty hot day as

you might notice, but it was good, I now know I can do locks on my own. I can do

tunnels on my own. I can get crashed into by a boat on my own. It's all good, so

probably not the most exciting video today because I only had the one point

of view I don't know what Jo will cut in here. But thats me done, roped up, tied up, good for

the night. Lock. Lock. Pub. Now.

So, day two of my solo trip to Braunston and I've got two

more locks to go. This is one of them, I'm opening it. There's nobody coming up.

Locks full, so that's good. So, boats been running for a little while, and I'm gunna go back and actually drive it over.

Now, today I'm gonna try and get some extra shots.

Rather than just do the time lapse on the front. But I'm not sure exactly what

I'll be able to do, because at the end of the day I'm moving the boat on my own and that

isn't as easy as it sounds, so here we go getting ready, getting off, and on our way.

Boats in the lock. Closing the door. Hoping the other one doesn't swing open

because of this one closing. Luckily it's only staying open just a tiny amount.

I'll go over here and open this end, and then I have to run like hell so I

don't think I can leave it taping for a second.

So boats on going down, even when you have this sort of mafia style, Donald Trump haircut, ar well Donald Trumpn Junior haircut.

Err, they tend to go down fairly gently in these locks which is nice.

they lock themselves move relatively quickly, but boats gonna drop slow, so I

can kind of just keep sufficient tension on, with a couple of wraps of rope around

this bollard and it keeps Perseverance from pulling too far forward but

going down, gently enough, then I'll open the gate to try and pull the boat

through and then jump on down the ladder. Fun.

Alright, so what I have figured out, got about and inch to go.

What I figured out as the, kind of simplest way of doing this single-handed,

is to go in and out one gate, which can be a little bit tricky, but if you can get

it lined up it's not too bad. This time I sort of tapped the front end into the

concrete just outside, but I missed both the gates, and that's what you're trying

to do is just not rubbing the gates at all. It's not really that hard because

there's actually about four inches of room, so you got like two inches on

either side, so as long as you can keep the boat moving straight, it really isn't

that difficult. Going out the front gate a little bit easier because

basically, since I'm single handed, I need to step down onto the boat, the ladder in

this case in particular is placed in a sort of weird position, so I'm gonna have

to do is pull Perseverance through the front gate partway, and then climb down

the ladder and jump onto the back while the boats, sort of, moving under just

roped power, and then start up and move through.

And then I will run back and close this gate, after I've stopped on the lock

landing for the next one, which is just a short distance ahead. And get it filling or

whatever I've got to do. And then I'll run back and do this one. All while that ones going down.

Yeah, A bit of hussel. Not too much.

I feel like I'm moving through these things about as, kind of, quickly as we do

as a pair, so not sure what that's all about. Maybe a little bit slower.

A little bit of rain starting. One of the advantages of being one of nature's,

stouter fellows, is manhandling boats around isn't too big of a deal.

But, I do have to pull it on the ropes a lot. And my hands get kind of sore. oh well.

Now to check if there's anybody coming up, if there's not, raise this lock, go back, close the next

lock, come back, go through this lock. And then do it all again.

So a bit of a change in plans, there's somebody coming up, so I'm going to drop

the boat and not walk out but drive out. And then leave the gate open for them. Yay.

So, moored up. In Braunston. A little bit north of the marina. South? East? East of the marina.

A little bit east of the marina, and, yeah thus ends my two days of single-handed lock

movement and tunnel adventure and stuff. From here, I think I'll just be sitting

here until Jo gets back. In the meantime garbage, to the garbage.

This is a miss placed brick.

... and keep it from tripping anyone tripping down the ladder like it did me.

Back, forth, that lock open, next one closed, then come back.

sheeps in the field, that's nice. Big green field, lots of blind sheep

paying attention. Gongoozler sheep.
