بيضة كولمبوس - Duration: 6:51.

The seaway of global trade that connects east Asia to West Europe

begins from the Atlantic Ocean,

to The Mediterranean Sea

through The Strait of Gibraltar,

and from the Mediterranean,

to the Red Sea,

through Suez Canal

from there, it's the Indian Ocean, through Bab El Mandeb Strait

and then to The South China Sea through Singapore Strait.

So many straits!!

This seaway has been used only for 150 years since the opening of Suez canal.

It dominates a huge percentage of global navigation,

Especially giant oil tankers.

Therefore, big part of international conflict

is related to control over these water passages.

However, if you think the way is long and exhausting,

it's a blessing compared to before 150 years ago.

Before the opening of Suez Canal, there was two routes

First, was overland.

It was called 'The Silk Road',

because it was used to import silk from China to Europe

it took months filled with danger..

robbers..

through countries, nations and different languages.

The second was a naval route, through Cape of Good Hope;

sailing from the Atlantic down to South Africa.

The possibility of death was a real thing to the sailors.

thus, when they reach halfway,

Cape of Good Hope

they gain hope

that they will survive the second half of the way

to East Asia

Oh.. I forgot to tell you something important

all of this introduction

has got nothing to do with our topic.

Our friends that do the shopping through Amazon,

You saw how difficult it was?

Say Alhamdulillah...

Christopher Columbus the Italian navigator,

went to see Isabella I the Spanish queen

and said, Your Majesty,

You, Spain, have an important business with India

that is the spice trade,

and since the Earth is round,

I can navigate heading west to reach the East.

Columbus didn't know at the time, that circumnavigating the Earth,

means you should cross the Pacific

that could easily put the Atlantic in its pocket!

Columbus went and reached the Americas

thinking he was in India

seeing the natives there.

Later on he got the idea,

and the discovery of America is associated with the Italian,

Christopher Columbus.

Sorry to say it again,

this also..

isn't what we want to address

Enough now... Say what you want to say!

alright..

What I want to say is, when Columbus went back to Spain,

he got a reception warmer than Indian spice..

and acquired a huge reputation.

One night, Columbus went to a party

attended by noblemen and leaders.

They said, out of envy,

Señor Cristóbal..

what you did is nothing special..

any average seaman in the future,

can go westward and reach the same spot you did..

Why should we exaggerate the matter?!

Columbus used his wit, and answered in a clever way..

with what?

an egg..

we devour it later!

Before we conclude the story,

I have a question..

Why some people, their only concern in life is to discredit others?

to smear their reputation and belittle their achievements

Begin with your own friends list in Facebook, for instance

you see that some, write in their posts and shares

only deprecation and criticism of others,

other than that, they have nothing to offer.

Some people haven't seen a satellite channel in their life,

but when they open a channel,

it's only to slander the competency of the ulama

some people

never written a book their entire life,

when they publish a book,

it's only hearsay to defame the maraji' (sources of emulation)

they cannot help to see,

without criticizing.

Prophet Muhammad SAWW said:

"It is enough sin for a son of Adam to indulge himself with the honor of his Muslim brother"

There's a story about Shaykh Al Ansari with a great moral lesson.

Let's go someplace and we continue there..

We're now close to

one of the gates to Imam Ali shrine; Bab Al Qiblah,

which faces Rasool street.

This is the tomb of Shaykh Murtada Al Ansari.

It'll take a long to talk about him

You can Google his name and benefit from him,

because all segments of his life are magnificent.

Do you know this poor student who enter Najaf

what do they call him now in Hawza?

Shaykh Al A'dham (The Greatest Shaykh),

Because his theories are an important study subject in Hawza.

When he was young, they asked his mother

What's the secret of his spirituality and sharp intelligence?

She said: "I'm not surprised..

because since his birth

until I weaned him,

not once I breastfed him

unless I was on wudu."

Once Shaykh entered the shrine from this gate,

and went under the dome of Amir Al-Mu'minin to recite Ziyarat Jami'ah Kabirah,

it is included in Mafatih Al-Jinan,

while he was standing facing the mausoleum and reciting,

There was someone..

who's got nothing in life except criticizing Al Ansari

and spoke badly about Shaykh.

It looks like as if Shaykh caused him a mental illness

He saw Shaykh was reciting Ziyarat Jami'ah,

He came close and said..

" This pretension.. until when?"

Shaykh calmly turned to him

and said: "You also do this pretension".

If others do good,

instead of degrading them to your level,

so that you can feel good about yourself and not feel inferior

be better than them!

This is a lesson from Shaykh Al Ansari.

If you see someone planted a tree and you want to precede him,

Don't root it out!

plant a better one!

Let's go back to Columbus' egg..

When he saw the crowd was ridiculing his achievement,

he stood and addressed them..

Señores...

Gentlemen..

If any of you could make this egg stand on the table,

without any support..

I'm willing to waive for him,

all titles and decorations that I acquired for this discovery.

The attendants tried once and twice

a hundred and two hundred times, without any result.

Columbus came and easily

gave a slight crack under the egg,

and let it stand without any support.

He won the dare..

You cooked it?

Oh.. Thanks a bunch!

They said: "Hmm... That's it?

Anyone can do it."

He replied: "True.. anyone could do it..but you didn't."

The true value of achievement is not in comments and criticism,

to have a seat as spectator is not same with the one who is in the pitch.

I added it from myself..

The one who is sitting abroad, defaming ulama

and pilgrims of Imam Husein,

go ahead!

There's an English idiom

The job of some people is to just pour a cold water

on everything in front of them,

and to dampen other's achievements.

OK, does this mean we shouldn't criticize?!

Of course not!

Columbus could be much criticized himself.

He is accused of crimes against Native Americans

during the Spanish invasion.

I give you a general criteria to criticism though,

if you see a person whose fame solely based on slander on others

and coming after them day and night,

in a way that without it,

his shop is closed

his channel goes dark

and has nothing else to talk about..

Then, That's a mental crisis.

The egg is cooked

See you in good health!

Thanks for watching!

10 Things to Never Change About Yourself in a Relationship - Duration: 6:02.

Establishing a relationship with someone is commonplace.

Many people are willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of their lover.

Meanwhile, finding a partner who can accept just who we are is a perfect dream.

But it seems difficult to come about because many people are suing their partners to suit

their will.

Actually this is fine; however, you need to know that there are some things you should

never sacrifice for your relationship.

This is the matter, obviously you don't want to be dating someone that makes unreasonable

wishes about how you should change yourself to suit the relationship.

Although, some of them might be a reasonable requests, such as, Please think about me when

you're making decisions, or Please don't call me names when we're fighting (well, those

kind of requests doesn't matter).

But remember that there are some unreasonable requests too, and some might considered foolish

or egoistic, so you need to be able to distinguish them from each other.

And one more thing, take a note that changing yourself isn't always a request from your

partner; it can be something you do because you think it will make you more desirable,

or you may try adjusting their behaviours to fit yours, while it's true that you need

to adapt with each other, changing yourself is quite dangerous.

Which is why it's important to know that your partner is dating you specifically because

you are YOU.

So here are the things you should never change about yourself in a relationship.

Please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until the end to know the complete

information.

10 Things to Never Change About Yourself in a Relationship.

#1 - Values and Beliefs.

Each person must have values and beliefs; either it is ideological, spiritual, or political

views.

It can help you to stand on your own thoughts and ideas.

If you have different values and beliefs, try to learn about respecting the difference.

The difference is not a reason for the end of your relationship and vice versa.

#2 - Honor.

Self-honor is something that needs to be upheld in the community order.

You certainly don't want your partner to smear your reputation in the society perspective

do you?

#3 - Relationship with Family.

Family is the most important thing in our life.

Everyone knows that your family is the one who raised you from the cradle.

Well, a good partner should never ask you to abandon your family for the sake of him

or herself.

#4 - Friendships.

Having a lover does not mean you have to spend your time only with your partner.

You also need to establish a good communication with your best friends.

Do not let your friendships become tenuous due to your partner's behavior.

#5 - Passion.

Passion is something that defines you.

With passion, you can find your identity and develop yourself.

You should never lose your identity just because your partner forbids you to do things you

passionate about.

#6 - Life Goals.

Your dreams and goals that you have built for a long time are the guideline of your

life to happiness.

Do not let your partner hinder you to achieve your goals and dreams.

Otherwise, a good partner will always support all the dreams and goals in your life.

#7 - Privacy.

One thing that sometimes is often forgotten when a relationship is privacy.

Everyone is basically entitled to their own privacy.

However, many people often ignore their privacy to make their partner happy.

They always spend every moment together, whereas every person needs 'me time'.

#8 - Career.

Just let's say you are building a career as a photographer.

You love photography and enjoy taking photographs.

However, your girlfriend gets jealous when you take photographs of pretty models, and

ask you to quit the job.

When you find this situation, you better look for a new girlfriend rather than look for

a new job.

#9 - Self-Expression.

Sometimes you must get upset of something, you sad of losing something, or anything.

If your partner can't appreciate the way you express your emotion, there will be a

big question mark.

Is he or she the right one for you?

#10 - Imperfection.

Everyone must have flaws in their selves, even your partner has too.

Rather than criticizing your own imperfection, it is better to understand and complete to

each other.

If your partner can't accept your imperfection, maybe you should find another one who can.

Well, those are the 10 things to never change about yourself in a relationship.

Pre-Existing Diseases In Health Insurance Explained - Duration: 6:33.

This video will discuss pre-existing diseases in health insurance policies or health insurance plans

People get perturbed by the conditions of pre-existing illnesses in health insurance plans

Insurance companies will cover risks that have an uncertainty. That is one of the principles of insurance

Risks which are certain will not be covered

In this context, insurance companies say that if you are suffering from a certain disease or illness, then these illnesses are not covered

In some cases, they may not give any health insurance in case of some dreaded illnesses like cancer

At the same time, not all pre-existing illnesses debar a person from taking the health insurance plan

There are pre-existing diseases which don't have such serious consequences , the insurance companies say that they cover those illnesses also but after a certain "cooling period"

So, the insurance may cover these pre-existing diseases or illnesses after 3 years of the policy

Some insurance companies cover these pre--existing diseases after 3 years and some after 4 years

Some even have a clause of 2 years. The coverage starts after the insured person has remain continuously been associated with the insurance company for some years

So, insurance companies can refuse any kind of insurance. Or, they could give you insurance except those pre-existing diseases which will not be covered lifelong

The other option is that those pre-existing illnesses will be covered by 3-4 years of "cooling period".

One of the reasons why health insurance claims get rejected is because of the clause of pre-existing illnesses

While filling up the health insurance form, one shouldn't hide pre-existing diseases which is a material fact

If you hide a pre-existing disease and the insurance company gets to know about it, it will reject your health insurance claim

It is better to exclude a pre-existing disease from the health insurance coverage rather than to get your claim rejected for it

Neymar Jr Lifestyle ★2018 - Duration: 9:12.

Neymar Jr is a Brazilian footballer and one of the world's leading footballers who plays

for Barcelona FC in the Spanish league.

Neymar Jr, like many others in Brazil,

started off as a street footballer but his father, who used to be a professional footballer,

helped him in taking the game seriously so that he could become a professional.

Neymar Jr joined the youth ranks at FC Santos when he was only eleven years old

and in fact he was accepted into the youth programme at Spanish club Real Madrid but

he decided to stay back in Brazil after he was offered a higher pay.

Throughout his time at Santos, Neymar scored one spectacular goal after another and his

skills became the talk of the football world.

As a result, the biggest clubs in the world vied with each other to sign him.

In 2013, he signed for Barcelona and immediately made an impact before finally

winning the treble with the Catalan club in 2015.

During his brief career, Neymar has also become the attacking centre point of the Brazilian

national team and helped them reach the semi final of the

World Cup in 2014 that was held in Brazil.

Neymar Jr is without doubt one of the leading footballers in the world and is all set to

become one of the biggest footballers of his generations.

Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was born on 5 February, 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes municipality

in the city of Sao Paolo, Brazil.

His father Neymar Santos Senior was a professional footballer and used to be his

trainer.

His mother's name is Nadine da Silva.

During his childhood, Neymar used to be a well-known player of street football as well

as futsal and that helped him hone his skills as far as fancy

dribbling is concerned.

In 2003, Neymar started representing the youth ranks of the team Portuguesa Santista and

moved to the city of Sao Vicente.

Neymar joined the famous Brazilian club FC Santos in 2003 when he was only 11 years old

and from then he went from strength to strength as a player.

Neymar signed his first senior contract with FC Santos at the age of 17.

In 2009, Neymar made his senior team debut for Santos FC and over the next four years

he became a prolific goal scorer for his team as he helped them to win

the Libertadores Cup.

He scored a total of 54 goals in 103 appearances for the club and throughout his time at the

club he was being courted by the biggest clubs in Europe.

In fact, he had been accepted by the Real Madrid academy at the age of 14 but he stayed

back with FC Santos after the club offered him a better salary.

After being controversially overlooked by Brazil football team manager Dunga for the

World Cup in South Africa in 2010, Neymar made his international

debut in a friendly later that year.

The following year he netted twice for Brazil in an unsuccessful Copa America campaign and

a year later he scored three goals in the Olympics to win a

silver medal for Brazil.

Neymar was being courted by the biggest clubs in the world for the better part of his time

in Santos FC and after a bitter tug of war between the Spanish

giants Real Madrid and Barcelona;

Neymar signed for Barcelona in 2013 for a transfer fee of $76 million.

The same year; Neymar scored 4 goals in the Confederations Cup as Brazil ended up

winning the tournament, beating Spain in the final.

In the 2013 season, Neymar started playing for Barcelona and in his first season at the

club he impressed everyone as he got goals in many of the

important games; including most notably in the El Clasico against Real Madrid.

Top Read Books On My TBR!! [CC] - Duration: 8:15.

Hey! What's up, you guys? It's Connor, and today we're gonna be talking about the

most popular books on my TBR. These are books that I physically own that I

haven't read yet that have the highest number of ratings on Goodreads. I've seen

a few other people do this before. I don't remember where I first saw it. I

don't know who started doing this because this is not my own original idea,

so if I find out who that is, I'll leave them linked in the description. You can

check out their video where they decided to do this first. But I scrolled through

my TBR shelf on Goodreads. Some of those books are books that I own. Some are ones

that I still haven't bought yet, so I limited it to the ones that I physically

own right now. And let's go through them. The fifth most popular book on my TBR

with over three hundred eighteen thousand ratings is The Wise Man's Fear

by Patrick Rothfuss. This is the second book in the Kingkiller Chronicle which I

did read the first one. That was a couple of years ago now, and it's taking me a

really long time to pick up the second one. I did like the first one when I read

that one. I read it within a buddy group, so I was chatting with people while we

were reading it. And we were all pretty much enjoying it, so I had a fun time

while reading that one. But I haven't ever picked this one up because... that's a

lie. I have picked this one up. I started it and never continued. I made it 38

pages, but I never continued it because the third book hasn't come out and, I

have no idea if it's ever gonna come out, and I don't want to get reinvested in

the world and have to go back and reread all the books so that I can read the

third one. So I've put this one on the back burner for now. I know tons of

people obviously love this book because it has a very high rating on Goodreads

and tons of people have read it, but I don't know if I want to pick it up, and

then have to go back and refresh my memory. I have the novella that happens

after this book as well, so maybe I should just go ahead, and read it, and

just hope that Patrick Rothfuss comes out with the next book soon. I don't know.

Let me know if you guys have read this one and if I need to just pick it upm and

read it, and then reread it later. I don't know. If you guys don't know, the

Kingkiller Chronicle is about this guy named Kvothe. The book is told by Kvothe as

an older man to a chronicler. So he's an old man. He's working at an inn that he

owns, and this chronicler tracks him down and wants to know

his story. Kvothe eventually gives in and decides to tell him his story in three

parts. Each book is one part of his story told on a different day, so his story

takes three days to tell. The first book is all about him as a child, and he grows

up in this caravan-like environment. And then he wants to go to this Magic School.

Then there's some drama with that and all of that. I don't really know what

stage of his life this one is about because I haven't read it yet. The fourth

most popular book on my TBR is the first book in the foundation trilogy by Isaac

Asimov, Foundation. This one has over three hundred twenty-seven thousand

ratings. I've actually owned this copy of it for

a while. I wanted this one because I thought it was really gorgeous. I

actually have two copies of the Foundation trilogy. I also have this

really old edition that my dad bought me a while back. He thought that I would

really enjoy it. I didn't even ask for the Foundation trilogy. It's just

something that I've had in the back of my mind that I wanted to read eventually

because I want to read some of the classic SFF. So he ended up getting me

this, and then I was like, "I actually want to read it out of this." I don't want to

read out of this one cuz it's so old, so I end up unwrapping this and reading it

eventually. I actually have no idea what this trilogy is about, and I don't really

know how what Foundation is about either. But I will read it eventually. Let me

know if you guys have read this book and if you recommend so that that maybe I'll have

some more motivation to actually pick this one up. The third most rated book on

my TBR is A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin. This is the third book in S Song

of Ice and Fire, the A Song of Ice and Fire series A.K.A.

A Game of Thrones. I actually did start this one at one point. I made it two

hundred and seventy-four pages in, but then I DNF'd it for the time being

because I was really bored. People say this is their favorite one in the whole

series, and nothing has happened really. I read the first two hundred seventy-four

pages years ago now, so I'd have to restart which is something I really

don't want to do. So I think I might check to see if my library has the

audiobook, and I'll listen to this first portion on audiobook just to catch

myself back up. And then [I'll] decide if I want to continue and read it physically or

continue to read it as an audiobook, but what's weird

about this is that I really did enjoy the first two books. I loved them. I think

I gave both of them five stars, and then this one, I couldn't make it past 274

pages. So I don't know what that's about. Let me know if I should restart this one

and try to make it through because I do want to know [what happens]. I've never watched the TV

show... actually I've watched the first like five episodes of the first season,

and I have been spoiled for certain things. But is it really a spoiler

because everyone in the series dies? So I don't know if I should just give up and

just never read it or if I should give it another go. With just under five

hundred ninety-seven thousand ratings, the next book is The Martian by Andy

Weir. I got this book in anticipation for the

movie coming out which - what was that? Two years ago now? - I'm so far behind. I wanted

to read the book before the movie came out, but then the movie came out and I

hadn't read it. I never saw the movie. I have watched little pieces of the movie

because my family was watching it, and I didn't want to watch it because I still

want to read the book. I have been spoiled a little bit for the ending, so I

don't know if I should just read the audiobook, & get rid of the physical book,

and move on or [if] just watch the movie and move on. I've heard that it's one of

those things that the movie stays pretty close to the book so you don't have to

experience both. I've seen some people just recommend watching the movie and

not even reading the book. So let me know your opinion. Do I just give up on the

book? I haven't even tried to read it. I bet you I would really enjoy it, but

maybe I should just forego this one, and watch the movie instead, and experience

the story that way because I heard it's really good. I don't know. If you guys

don't know, this one is about this guy who's on a mission to Mars ,and they end

up leaving him behind. They thought that he was doomed and that he would die,

but he survived. And now he's stuck on Mars, and he has to try to survive on

Mars for as long as he can in hopes that maybe someone will realize

that he's still alive and come rescue him. Or I don't really know! But I just

know it's him versus surviving on Mars where there's very little water and no

natural food. A lot of these have been like, "I don't know if I actually want to

read them or not" which is kind of strange because so many people have read

these. The most rated book on my TBR that I currently own is the Golden Compass,

the first book in His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman A.K.A. The Amber Spyglass.

I think is what it's called everywhere else. In His Dark Materials it

follows this girl named Lyra, and she has this ability to use this Amber Spyglass?

Golden Compass?.. which is a rare ability, I guess, in this world. They also have

familiars that run around with them. It's like their consciouses [are] outside of

their bodies that are called demons. I watched the movie a while back. I don't

know when that was, but I've heard it is absolutely terrible compared to the book.

So this is one that I do actually really want to read especially because I want

to see how Philip Pullman treats religion because I've heard he's like the

opposite of C.S,.Lewis. C.S. Lewis is very religious, and Philip Pullman's like anti-

religion is what I've heard. On my Cosmere Book Tag one of the questions was what's

the series continuation that you didn't like. Someone said that they didn't like

any of the books past the first one. At least I'm really looking forward to

reading the first one. The Golden Compass has over 1 million 69 thousand ratings.

So those are the top 5 most rated books on my physical TBR. If you liked this

video, please give it a big thumbs up and comment down below what are the most

rated books on your TBR's! Do you have any opinion on the ones that I just

showed in this video? Let me know which ones I should read sooner rather than

later, which ones you've read and really enjoyed! Help me decide if I

actually want to read these or not because a lot of them I was on the fence

about. Help me out! If you guys are interested in seeing the lowest rated

books on my TBR, let me know that as well because that's something I can do.

Anything else you want me to now, leave it down below, and I will talk to you

guys next time. Bye!

5 Ways to Teach Kids Mindfulness (That Don't Involve Sitting Still) | Parenting A to Z - Duration: 8:57.

Hey hey, my friend! Welcome to Parenting A to Z! I'm Kelly Bourne and this week we're

talking all about Zen. How to introduce mindfulness to your kids, when maybe

they're the kind of kids that get ants in their pants. Maybe they're the kind of

kids that can't sit still for more than two seconds. So I've got five different

tools and strategies you can try that are really fun, that I think your active

kids are really going to enjoy.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions with

mindfulness is that in order for us to be mindful we need to be really quiet,

and sit really still, and be really focused... Yeah. I know. And for a lot

of us with active kids, that seems like the impossible

task. But really, what mindfulness is, is just being present.

It's being aware of the here-and-now. And that doesn't mean you need to be sitting

in silence for 25 minutes in order to learn what mindfulness is, and in order

to reap the benefits of mindfulness. It can decrease our anxiety, it improves our

attention and our focus. It helps us find clarity. It helps us find our calm. When

we can pull on our mindfulness practice. When we're feeling really stressed, and

we're feeling really agitated. What are the biggest things, from a parenting

standpoint, that mindfulness brings? It helps our kids regulate their

emotions on their own. So they're not constantly having these high,

high peaks, and low, low valleys. Having that mindfulness allows them to

self-regulate, and self soothe, so they can be more on an even keel. And it

allows them to respond with focus, and with attention, and with clarity, when it

is called upon them -- when they're facing stress and frustration. So I've

got five different activities you can try with your kids who are really active.

If you thought that mindfulness was a lost frickin' cause for your kids,

this one is for you! And one strategy that I really like to use with my kids --

this is not even a strategy, it's just play and it's fun -- is activating their

spidey senses. And if your kids aren't into Spiderman, that's totally cool. It

can be a princess, a character on TV, or another superhero.

Or for older kids, even a character in a movie. But for us, we use Spidey senses.

And we get them to activate their superpowers. So talking to them about

activating their superpowers and getting them to really intently focus on what

they're seeing, and what they're hearing, and what they can touch, and how their

senses are super-sized. When, I know! I'm getting really animated even

talking about it! But getting them to describe what they are experiencing, and

what they're seeing, when those superpowers are activated and their

senses are really tuned in to what's going on around them. That's

mindfulness, right there. And it's so much more than than sitting and being quiet

and being calm and still. Of course, that works for a lot of kids, but if your

kids are active, this is a great alternative to get them to

practice tuning in and describing what's going on around them. Another really fun,

active way that we are using with our kids, to get them to engage with the

present moment and get them to focus on what they're experiencing, it's something

that we call "Jump Around." Any other House of Pain -- I know, I'm such a, like, NOT a

gangster AT ALL, but I love that old music! -- is we'll blast the

music, we'll get our kids to jump around, being really active, you can put on

whatever tunes that they're in to. And then we'll shut the music off and just

get everyone to lay down, close their eyes, and be really still. And then, I know,

I'm closing my eyes too, just because that's what we do in the moment, and

then getting them to pay attention and getting them to just be quiet and listen

to what they're hearing. Listen to what their body's telling them. Getting them

to put their hand on their heart and feel their heart beating, and tell you what

that feels like, and what that sounds like. And how their legs feel, and how

their arms feel. How their body feels. What they're seeing, what they're hearing.

Paying attention to their elevated heart rate, and maybe even their elevated

breathing, or their belly going up and down. That's all mindfulness, right there.

Just getting your kids to have fun, be active, and then paying attention to what's

going on in their bodies. It's really fun. Something else that works

really well if your kids like to eat, if your kids are into snacks.

And whose kids are not into snacks?! Is to try doing a

blindfolded taste test. Again, really fun, not the typical thing you

think of when it comes to mindfulness, but by making it fun, having some things

that are crunchy, some that are salty, some that are sweet, just a wide variety

of things. From watermelon, to granola bars, crackers, cheese, whatever -

yogurt, all the things they like eating. You can blindfold them and then practice

doing a taste test. Asking them, how does it feel in your mouth? What are

you tasting? What do you think it is? Is it crunchy? Is it sweet? Asking them all

those questions, just to slow down. I know, again, closing my eyes -- I'm such a weirdo --

but to pay attention to what's going on in the present moment. I feel

so sneaky with all these tips! But they really do help with our

active kids. Another thing that's really fun, is we take our kids on "noticing

walks." So I know, that probably sounds weird. But we will go for walks with our

kids where the sole purpose of the walks is to talk about all the stuff we notice.

Again, zeroing in on the senses. What are you seeing? What are you hearing? What

are you feeling? All of all of those things. And getting them to explain

what's going on, and what they're noticing, and taking those moments for

everybody to be really quiet and listen -- it's like I'm doing this right

now, here with you. Getting really quiet, and then hearing what they can hear, and

describing what they're hearing. And it's also a really fun, engaging way

to spend time as a family. So you're having that togetherness time, you're

having that connection time, you're having that quality time, while also

boosting up your kids' sense of mindfulness. And you're essentially

teaching them how to get grounded. How to pay attention to the leaves. How to pay

attention to the sky, and the trees. And how to pay attention to what they're

hearing, and seeing, and feeling. Just noticing. So a "noticing walk"

is a really fun thing you can do. Snd something else you can do when

you're on your noticing walks, or you can do this at home, or in the grocery store,

or really wherever, is we call it "five things." So again, you're focusing on your

five senses. So thinking of the five senses, what are five things you can see,

five things you can hear, five things you can touch... I'm losing track of the senses,

as I'm explaining it to you! But getting them to do that, again, it gets them to

focus on the present moment, and focus on what they can see, and what they can hear,

and really dial it in without having to sit and close their eyes and teach them

how to meditate. It's a great option, give it a try.

Give it a try and see how it goes. You may find that you have a new fun family

activity! I know, I'm such a loser, but I can help it! Give it a try, for real.

And the other thing, too, that goes along with that, with the five things

piece, is it works really well for us adults when we start ruminating. So

you know when you get that tape that keeps playing in your head, of

how you're a bad mom, or how you made all these mistakes, or how come this is

happening again... when that train starts going? Please

tell me I'm not the only one that happens to?! But the "five things"

mindfulness tool also helps us when our mind starts going. To snap out of it.

Cuz when you're focused on what are five things I can see, what are five things I

can smell, what are five things that I can hear, you're not thinking about

whatever was driving you bonkers. You're now focused and distracted on this new

task. And you're being mindful. You're coming back to the present moment. You're

coming back to what's real and what's around you, and not this made-up

thing that you're spinning in your head. So again, that's a really good one to

just to put in your back pocket for the next time your brain starts

going. So I hope that helps! I'm sending it out to all my other

fellow parents of really active kids who are wanting to teach them to be aware of

what's going on, you're wanting to teach them to be mindful, but it seems like all

the resources out there are for kids who like to be really quiet and sit still. I hope it

helps! I hope it helps. Give it a go. Let me know how it goes. Leave

any questions or comments below. Of course, if you're looking for any more

in-depth parenting resources and support, don't forget to check us out in the

Parent 'Hood. I hold regular office hours and it's lots of fun! So merry

mindfulness! I hope you can find your Zen and help your kids do the same. I'll see

you in the next video!
