Classical Musicians React: BTOB 'I'll Be Your Man' vs 'Movie' - Duration: 16:27.
Hugo: uh, yeah!
oh f*ck wow
Umu: Okay, so BTOB is a seven member boy group that debuted in
2012~
This very first song that we're about to react to "I'll be your man" is actually their first comeback after they had released a
100% ballad trilogy where they really focused on like showcasing their vocals
So this one they're like, yeah, the rapper's can shine again
This song is composed by the BTOB member
Hyunsik and the songwriters Eden and Nathan "I'll be your man" is about not being able to forget a past love and praying to be with
Her again. However, the music video may have a plot twist~
James: May? Umu: it may James: it... (Hugo: It's gaaaaaaaay) won't?
okay
Hugo: un, deux, trois
Isaac: Oh shoot
ISaac: ohhh we got a sniper on the roof-- K: jeez
KEvin: No scope, oh no, here it comes, here it comes. Oh Isaac: English.
Kevin: Yeah, hella half diminished action, come on
Peyton: This sounds like some tough-guy soft music
Peyton: Just like-- yeah Charlotte: nice little violin solo
oh
Peyton: oh yeah
Lindsey: that was weird the intro like ended on a leading tone but then it didn't keep going in that key
Isaac: aww Kevin: love that, that little guitar thing that's like at--- the sort of the background. Come on
Peyton: He's definitely like the emotion of the group
Charlotte: This is sexy, (PEyton: yeah, it's like) the music is sexy. This is like something you would put on like your getting it on playlist
Olivia: shits about to go down.
you have to have something to drive you to the chorus
Might as well have it be the beat if you're not going to have it be the harmony Aaron: oo that sexy jacket
Peyton: See there's a nice balance of like tough guys and like guys who are in-touch with their feelings
Hugo: awww y eah
Oh, f*ck wow holy sh*t
Aaron: I like how the bassline descends Olivia: He just like flew up there
Lindsey: I like this guy's voice it's like very strong
and the harmonies
Kevin: It's gonna go 5, yeah ahh!
WAS THAT A 6?!?!??!
Was that deceptive!??!
Hugo: oh shit James: woah the octave
well I mean it's just the deep voice
Lindsey: that was a nice contrast. the little rap section
Fiona: i want like this song to be like all of that, i love that
Olivia: every time you hear that, they're setting up for the chorus
Aaron: This is a pre-chorus Olivia: pre-chorus
Kevin: Good rapping.
yeah!!! yeah!
no triplets. No triplets, just straight duple
Lindsey: he's like- leading into the chorus, the guitar goes like [makes sound]
Kevin: I love that, that octave leap, it's so good, all of them- Isaac: oh confession time
Peyton: Very conventional harmonies like and like but like not in a boring way
James: wait now--- I'm just realizing the church theme! what the heck
Kevin: Nice it's cliche, but it's effective
Fiona: Piano equals sentiment in this. Lindsey: Yeah, I definitely agree
James: Wait, so it's a war zone. There's a church
James: Now we're in purgatory, I don't know
Peyton: yeah and now they're slowly bringing it back Charlotte: oh what the heck!!!
Charlotte: this video though.. Pwyton: wow this has taken a left turn
Charlotte: oh she Peyton: OH So--- C: --- whattttt P: HEY
Lindsey: Is she having him killed?
oh he really is gonna be her man, but not in that sense
James dying: whhhaat
James: *big inhale* What!?!?!
Lindsey: This is interesting
Wait I like how they have like the rap going with the singing like they're like combining everything at the end
KEvin: like anything the instrumentals lack,
the vocals totally deliver it, including the rapping
Hugo: damn. Im all about- James: this is so good
Hugo: oh sh*t James: OMG
Hugo: I'm all about that song. I don't know what we thought of them before, but that shit was tight
JAmes: Such good music such a good video.
oh my god Umu: yeah
So what aspects of the music and music video together did you think was your favorite Hugo: they totally played with our anticipation of what they were
Gonna do musically, there was enough rhythmic variety that it really was interesting and a blast, but it wasn't so much that it was
Eclectic. you weren't like having trouble following the music
It was so good
Like in the beginning, it builds up like it was about to be a drop and then it got really quiet
And you had like James said you had the drum on two and four James: there was---
There was a variation on everything which is what I love
variation of timbre variation of rhythm good equal balance both on the highest
Say for the the the vocalist part that one high note was phenomenal Hugo: oh my god
I want to go back and find the kind of god f*cking d*mn that sh*t was
wOO
James: good mixing too
Hugo: Like what
Hugo: He just goes up. He's just like
Oh God Olivia: I like the range yeah
Olivia: like his little leaps Aaron: his little little like [demonstrates]
to the stratosphere! Aaron: It was like very emotional--- i was like preach Olivia: yeah it was like it had to do with like you know
Oh when we talk about like text painting where like the lyrics reflect
are reflected in the music
and like, when every time there was like a really dramatic moment
He just like his voice shot up like 10 million octaves Aaron: 10 million octaves! O: you know i'm being- A: 10 million-
Olivia: its a hyperbole
Fiona: It got pretty layered
and intense whenever like it built to when he was kind of hanging upside down
F: and gna die Lindsey: I think it was kind of Awesome. There were like a bunch of different sections throughout the beginning
I mean there was like the chorus and then there was like
Different types of verse I guess and then when it got towards the end and the plot was thickening and it got more
Like "what the fuck?" uh
Sorry. *"what the mmm?"
Then they like took everything and put it on top of each other, but it all worked together
Isaac: They introduced a lamenting qua-- a
lamenting bass and then sometimes when when they want to bring it up to
Climax instead of going like they would start going down but then start climbing up and it would hit like an "E" a
High E and- *kevin interrupting*: yeah, deceptive
isaac: oh okay, you're gonna go to high F but instead they dropped to the low F and it goes into a whole like either their chorus or
another verse. I don't know. It was very straightforward
like when it got faster the beats got faster and
Then when it dropped out of tempo it usu- usually-- is replaced with slow and soft piano line
Yeah Umu: okay, and then you shouted something while-- Kevin: oh deceptive
Umu: Yeah
So what's what's up with Kevin: so right after the first chorus it goes in it's a all the instruments hush
and there was a big intense 5 the
[sings] right? the voice goes up to 1, but then the bass goes up to 6 and
But but it's so subtle because the instrumentals all die and you're just like
[whispers] you're like...woah it's not over
Whoa, I want to keep on listening
Umu: ready to move on? Both: Yeah Umu: okay. So next one is also a BTOB release. This is their
2017 comeback called movie it was composed by the member named Ilhoon and the songwriter IL
Movie is about how they want to have a relationship with a girl like a movie even though it might be cliche
They still want to live their life like it. This has plenty of movie references
I'm guessing you don't want me to spoil any of them. kevin: Of course not Isaac: definitely no
umu: Okay. then go ahead
KEvin: Feel em Lindsey: feel em
It's like me but backwards
ooh
Olivia: oooooo, Jazzy, chromatic
Kevin: nice those are some good chords, those are i dont even know what's happening it's too R&b for me
the soft piano kevin: major 7, minor 3
Lindsey: the synth did a weird thing and there was like--- rEWrW Fiona: sounded like a cat that got stepped on its tail L: it really did
hugo: Oh that bass oh
James: oh pulp fiction!
olivia: they're really putting that bass IN there A: is it- is it glee?
I like when they put bass heavy things
Fiona: he's wearing tails Lindsey: oh is this suicide squad is the dj the one in the suicide squad one with the red hair
and the face tattoo Kevin: oh his awww! Bruce Lee/Kill Bill. I'm not sure which one
L: I like this
it's like-
Lindsey: it's like pre-chorus (F: YAS QUEEN) that's like a long pre-chorus it feels like cause it's all definitely building
Peyton: I like the synth horn sounds they're using
KEvin: oh see, in the chorus the harmonies are more simple, but it's-but the beat
aw man, little slap bass. Come on. I'm a sucker for slap bass
Peyton: see, synth horn is fine, midi horn is sacrilidge
Hugo: oh! loving the auto-tune on their voices J: I like the effect
Lindsey: I'm getting like T-Pain vibes
Fiona: yeah its fun like they're---- LIndsey: this is 08 mile
fiona: the switch from um.. Lindsey: mom's spaghetti
The switch from English to Korean is fun
KEvin: And it's a rap verse, my mind is blown
KEvin: oh it's so- oh that piano line !
Kevin: Master piece! hey the song just might be that
James: what are you... Hugo: James Bond?
Peyton: Oh man got the Michael Jackson moves
Charlotte: yeah they got some very michael jackson esque dancing vibes
OH kill bill kill bill, yellow jumpsuit kill bill
LIdnsey: like.. it's a lot of just the piano line Fiona: yeah they bubble tea place we liek to go to
has music that sounds like this Lindsey: Yeah
Fiona: background like weird smooth jazz, but this is the better pop version Lindsey: but they're doing cool stuff over it though
So it's kind of cool
Keivn: aw man this piano. This piano just knows me this piano sinks deep
Fiona: Snap, snap represents the seconds left in his life before he explodes LIndsey: Yeah
James: Oh no
Hugo: Boom boom motherfucker
fiona: yayyyyy lindsey: they saved him
I think.
I like the random trumpets
hugo: yaaaas
Hugo: Is that the lady and the tramp? James: how do they get so high so easily? oh my god
Except they are pushing though
Fiona: i like this part LIndsey: the autotune part?
*sings* i''ll be your man
Kevin: I'll be your man!?!? cross referencing songs
Olivia: this is definitely more harmonically interesting A: yeah I like it
had a little bit of jazz elements in there
sevenths~ ohh defuse that bomb Aaron: oh wait, wait
aaron: ohhhh
Fiona: what? what?
Lindsey: That was cool. Umu: Yeah, so what do you think of that song musically Fiona: i'll be your man. I like robot guy.
Lindsey: I thought it was cool how they like used the auto-tune in there because everything about it was so like
Like there were so many different things happening in the video
And then the music wasn't as like diverse I think as the last song was but then they had that like robotic
Auto-tune section and I think it worked really well with the rest of it
Umu: So for those who don't know what MIDI versus synth trumpets are or brass
Can you explain? Peyton: Midi trumpet is kind of-- or MIDI like
Sounds in general are kind of like of the sounds you would get from like
notation software
Whenever you're writing music on like anything like one programs finale another one's Sibelius (who is also a composer)
But yeah, whenever you play the what you wroke back, that's like the sound you hear like that. It's kind of like
uh like- Charlotte: That's midi
Peyton: Yeah
Peyton: That's midi Charlotte: an then synth is when you have like a keyboard and like and the electronics they can actually switch
sounds so you can like press a button or select a setting that is like
Trumpet sound and then you can just play it on the keyboard and that's what that sounds like. Umu: So it's less painful to musicians
Charlotte: Yes, because the really high-end keyboards get pretty close. It's like if you auto-tune a trumpet you would get
the synth sound trumpet
KEvin: I think with this one the instrumentals definitely reign supreme
But also rapping over the free, the piano line that like basically doesn't have rhythm
Like all of the improv is free and rubato-y while the beat is strict and the rapping strict. It's a very cool effect
Isaac: I don't know. It just doesn't really hit me too hard with a lot of different things. It sounds very similar to
Umu: typical kpop?
Isaac: I can't say typical kpop-
Kevin: it does sound like typical kpop but it's still a good iteration of it
I thi- I guess it focused on the references more than the music
Kevin: It's so interesting that through these movie related music videos we get to see which western movies
permeate into Korean culture like in China Pulp Fiction is like what--- What's that?
But in Korea, it seems like people really like pulp fiction
hugo: Musically, it was dope their vocals again were dope, they were pushing a little bit as James said but
Overall pretty great. james: Yeah Umu: and what do you mean by pushing technically?
James: He's still very much in chest voice when he's singing in those high notes
And so that puts a lot of strain on your larynx
When you don't try and transition to head voice and go through your passadgio, and so that's bad
umu: *wheezes*
Umu: Okay, and what do you think of movie's music compared to I'll be your man's?
Kevin: I like I'll be your man more
Just because it it has that extra thing like the the spark that Isaac talks about for me
the rap verses in in I'll be your man hits it more and
Movies just uh, it's a chill- It's more chill surprisingly even with the funk
yeah movie sounded very very bland in terms of like different characters or colors Umu: but it used okay chords? Kevin: very
Okay chords, very good chords as a matter of fact Charlotte: they both followed like the same form Peyton: if I had to pick one
honestly, probably the movie just because it's a little happier, you know
And I need more like just random happy songs in my rep
You know Umu: what do you think of this song compared to I'll be your man since it was released like only a few months apart
Olivia: there's more going on
Aaron: But then the other one was like sexy this one was like fun
A: but the other one was- Olivia: this one was fun, but like I would like to listen to it more
Aaron: the other one was sexy though Lindsey: they were kind of similar you could tell that this group kind of has a style
Fiona: I liked this one more if it matters because I don't know. It's something about the last one about the chorus
I didn't really like like I didn't like the guitar or like something about the voice with this one
It just was a lot more like groovy and chill better vibe for me
Lidnsey: I like the first one better because I like how they layered all the different styles. I thought that was cool. Umu: Hello, everyone

Is It Too Late To Get On YouTube? our honest response - Duration: 15:09.
alright guys welcome back to another video on full-time purpose I'm Erin
dowdy and I'm here with Victor odo what's up guys so today what we're gonna
do is we are going to share with you and explain to you what we think as to
whether it is too late to get on YouTube because I think we both had people ask
us we're like oh well you guys have big audiences you guys have already done
this is it too late because that was two years ago that maybe you guys got on and
I see people that have been on a long time they have big audiences is it too
late to get on YouTube so that's what we're gonna talk about in this video is
whether it is too late or not and what you can do despite whether it is late or
not so first up so what I want to say about this is understand that there are
over so right now one of the biggest points I'd say about this is that there
are so many billions of people online and they have showed that you know
there's 7 billion people on the planet only about half of them or maybe it's
less than half of the people on the planet have internet access right now
and have and are online so knowing that knowing and there's statistics that show
that it's projected that over the next five to ten years there is about two
billion people coming online in the next five to ten years now that's a huge
amount of people that are coming online and when they do there's going to be
even more demand for content to be shared online so that's something that's
very encouraging to know because we may sometimes think that this is the just
this is like the end of it like we had our time I know like when facebook or
myspace was around for examples like it had its time it's dead now the thing is
is YouTube or not even just YouTube but videos in general digesting content via
videos is going to be something that is around for a very long time because
videos are so much more engaging than any other type of media if we talk about
blogs if we talk about Instagram these are things that may also be around but
video is something that people get very interactive with and it's something that
people engage more than anything else so yes that's what I would say when the
first parts of this is that I wanted to share is that there's so many billions
of people coming online that there's going to be even more and more of a
demand for it we're actually in the very beginning
I would say of Internet in general we're in the very beginning we think that
we're at the end of it we're getting towards the part to where then it just
continues to go to another level and you getting in right now maybe one of the
best things you do because you don't want to keep waiting keep putting it off
and keep making it so that it becomes harder and harder right now is a perfect
time to get on YouTube perfect time to share your message because there's going
to be so many more people coming on to learn and also to come online in general
so yeah and it's also even taking it further I would say it's it's a good
time to get on to YouTube and share about exactly what you're into rather
than you don't have to jump on what you perceive to be popular trends what I got
into in the beginning like a spiritual awakening which wasn't even really
anything at the time it was only a couple years ago and now there's all
these channel videos going I thought it was like to niche down to specific so if
you're into like putting model cars together you could probably rise up to
the top with that there are probably thousands of thousand the people totally
into that they would love to hear from my experience first that or whatever you
know if you're whatever you're into even anything yeah even some people that like
maybe someone's really really passionate about Reiki for example and somebody
likes to show how they have different techniques for the way they go about it
and different yeah techniques for how they do their energy work and you might
say well there's not a big audience online how many people are Reiki
practitioners online there the beautiful thing about the internet is it connects
to people all over the world no matter where you are we know through our Google
Analytics that we have people from India we have people from all over the planet
so you can connect the people the Reiki the Reiki healers and the Reiki people
the energy workers all over the planet so it's not like you have to think
necessarily that oh that not that many people are in my neighborhood or that I
know in my community that are that way but online it's a totally different
ballgame so one of the best ways to go about that is to share your message
online knowing that as you authentically share your message maybe you're adding
value by showing your unique practices or how you go about it people catch on
to that and that's why a lot of things that we do on YouTube a lot of the main
focuses for us is in value adding value will never go out
of style adding value to other people whether you're teaching an idea you have
you're sharing a message that can help somebody whatever it is that's never
going out of style because there's always going to be people that want to
elevate their consciousness that want to learn more about who they are that I
want that want to get more into their passion whatever it is it's about having
that awareness and knowing that the fundamentals of what YouTube or the
fundamentals of video in general represent that's never going out of
style learning from other people it's never going out of style it's just that
video right now is the best way to do that who knows maybe in like ten years
it's VR or something and it moves but it's still gonna be a go for a while I
think yeah and it will be and whether it's YouTube or not and my personal
opinion I believe YouTube will be around for a while
and it's about understanding that you want to be where everyone else is in a
way like some people might get like well you know I like this platform and I'm
not gonna remember for a while I was like oh I don't really care about
Facebook I'm not really gonna do anything on it but I realized that I had
a lot of viewers that were on Facebook so I decided to put some content there
as well but you just have to understand that there's so many people on YouTube
that that's where you can start to put your energy because as you do that now
the momentum will build and you never know where you could be in a year from
now or two years from now because two years ago I personally had two years ago
I don't you think I had a thousand subscribers last year in February of
last year I had three thousand subscribers and was it too late then you
know part of me was like is it too late it's not too late it's never too late
there's still people that were either coaching with or there's people that we
know that are growing their channels from maybe a thousand subscribers to two
thousand subscribers or maybe a thousand subscribers to ten to twenty thousand
subscribers or even some people from a couple thousand subscribers to fifty to
a hundred thousand subscribers we know people in all of those little brackets
of how much of an audience they have and it's all happening it's all happening
right now because the demand for the information
the demand for adding value is never going away and YouTube is one of the
best places to do that and to teach yeah and I would say even from like an
online business sense we totally talk a lot about that we're trying to help
people learn how to like do what they love full-time video is the best for
that it's hands down because of what she said the authentic connection I don't
know about you guys but I know all throughout the last decade pretty much
in my life there were youtubers that I followed that I derived such a benefit
from I felt like that was their friend I thought I just loved them and they
helped me so much because it's just you're seeing the raw authentic
expression of another human being and the connection is so deep so and people
are longing for that depth there's a lack of it now in fact social media to
an extent has disconnected people but video is in a sense like a bridge
bringing people back to that like energetic connection between one another
so yeah it's never too late I agree I was just at the gym I just telling him
because I was excited because that we were eating before we came here and at
the gym before I left to come to the place where we ate to then come here
there was a subscriber that I saw that I guess saw recognized me inside the sauna
and it was really cool because he really was so excited and I'm not saying this
to be egotistical or sound cool I'm just saying it was so cool because he really
felt like he knew me and he was like man you're real I love what you're teaching
stuff like that it's a really cool feeling and it's something that I think
that it kind of gets overlooked because we're in it right like we're we're
putting out videos and we don't really understand the kind of impact it can
have on people but then in person when you meet them you meet them it's a
totally different story I know because I see we go we went - we go - we went to
rythme there were a couple people there that knew Vik and it was like there was
just that people feel like they know you and it's just that's never really going
out of style and video is where it happens like you may see some people on
Instagram and all of their stuff is photos but you don't really know them
unless they hit write long texts and stuff and you can kind of get into their
story on their new adaption not even on the same game even if it is video it's a
minute long video but if you're listening to a 10 15 sometimes 20 minute
long video from something of someone that's adding value to you you really
connect to that and that's when there's the most ability to
help other people that's when people feel really engaged and that's where the
power is the power is in the engagement and that's where it comes as YouTube is
a very powerful platform for that and that's how we both grew our businesses
is through that of YouTube mm-hmm yeah and I would say the third one is uh I
can say this honestly because of I know most of people that watch our channels
are like up higher conscious people who are on a spiritual path but there's a
there's a big sort of a global awakening going on and I think most of us watching
can connect the idea that there's we said there's going to be a growing need
of like authentic helpful higher conscious type of transmissions or
information being spread out there in all different types of niches right now
and I think a lot of people right now are feeling compelled to to sort of
share and and and I feel like there's a real strong need for that and that's why
we and him are doing this why the whole premise for this whole YouTube channel
and thing we're doing is to help to like push people to do that to show them you
can do that you can make a living you can help people you can live this
freedom lifestyle and be happy and abundant as well and not only that but
the world needs it the world needs you and your message and your energy that I
know a lot of people they get these ideas that is too late in their head I
me and him want to kind of come on here to squash that because it's it's just
not true there's always love with I remember when I came on it I thought to
myself wow if I would have gotten on YouTube six years ago when I really
wanted to where what Ben and there's never better there's never a better time
than now that was the same thing for me I wanted to get on YouTube and I waited
an extra year and I don't regret anything because everything's have been
panning out very well but part of me was like hmm if I would have grown six to a
months to a year earlier I'd probably be at like much like double triple what I'm
at right now and with more influence you know what I mean yeah but not just more
influence but helping awaken more and more people so it is it's like the
the one regret you'll have is if you just keep waiting is if you just keep
putting it off and you just keep saying well when I have the best camera
equipment when I have the best this the best that none of that's necessary we're
filming this right now on Victor's phone and we have a microphone that wasn't
that it's not crazy kind of broken actually if you look closely it's not
even you know oh yeah oh yeah at work you know you make it work but it's
because we're it's something it doesn't take as much as you think it's a lot
easier than you think it is and the one thing you don't want to do is put it off
another year another six months another couple months wondering and asking
yourself the question where would I be if I would have started back then if I
were to start at six months ago a year ago a month ago we can go just start now
that's the part that I guess we really want to share with you because there is
a global consciousness shift happening people are becoming more and more awake
and right now is the very the very beginning of it it's gonna keep getting
more and more there'll be more and more people waking up to this information I
know it I can feel it maybe you can feel it too and with that the world needs
your message if you have a message to share and if you have a desire to help
people this is something that we highly encourage you to do because it's gonna
help the overall collective consciousness as well as you being able
to live the kind of life you want yeah and one thing I wanted to add that I was
tell people is that like the nerves I felt the apprehension I felt that the
hesitation I felt six years ago when I wanted to get on YouTube that was all
present when I finally did get on YouTube not that I became ready I was I
never felt ready it was just a decision I'm going to do this I don't care if
it's perfect I'm going to do it and trust that I will
improve as time goes on and that's how it went for me so it was just it was I
woke up one day and said I'm gonna do this thing yeah okay there's no there's
no magic or no special premonition or anything and I believe anybody watching
this right now can make that same choice today
yeah and it's something that gets easier as you go I was very you go back to any
of our YouTube channels both of our YouTube channels you'll probably see the
first video we did is probably kind of cringy mine was and I was very nervous
making that video and as very nervous posting it I remember I called or I
texted my mom said mom can you like my video on Facebook because I was worried
it wasn't gonna get any likes and I was nervous about it but guess what I got
better I got better by the 1215 twentieth video I started becoming more
natural to boy yeah after my hundredth video it was like
natural flow state and now people cut something when it sometimes people watch
my videos like how do you make a new video every day and how are you in this
flow state and when I tell them I don't script out any of my videos it just kind
of it's in a flow State they're impressed but that didn't come
because I'm special that came just because I practiced and I started right
when I knew I had to start I started even though I waited a little bit when I
eventually started that's what got me to the point now to where everything comes
out naturally and in a flow state so you can do the same thing the key is to just
start now so that you get there much faster than if you were to wait yeah and
the last thing we'll talk about is that one of the things that prevents people
from doing it is they don't feel like they have the time for it but well we're
here to demonstrate and to help you do is that is to say that you do have the
time not only do you have a time for it if you make it but you can actually make
it a full-time career in a very honest and authentic way that will allow you to

Presidents Moon and Duterte hold summit meeting at Blue House - Duration: 2:56.
Let turn to the first visit to Seoul by a head of state from an ASEAN member country.
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte spent Monday afternoon at South Korea's top office,
with a summit with President Moon Jae-in.
Our Cheongwadae correspondent Hwang Hojun has more on what was discussed.
"May our relations remain strong and continue to thrive for the benefit of both the Korean
and Filipino peoples."
After writing that message in the Cheong Wa Dae guestbook, Philippine President Rodrigo
Duterte and his South Korean counterpart held a summit meeting together on Monday.
President Duterte is the first head of state from an ASEAN member country to visit Seoul
since President Moon took office.
But this was actually the second time the current Presidents of South Korea and the
Philippines have met.
The first was on the sidelines of the ASEAN+3 summit and the East Asian Summit, last November.
In Monday's meeting, the two leaders highly evaluated the 69 years of diplomatic relations
between their countries.
"Korea and the Philippines have made remarkable achievements in all areas, including politics,
economy, culture, and human exchanges over the past 70 years based on our strong friendship
established through the Korean War."
President Moon noted that South Korea is the Philippines' fifth-largest trading partner
and that human exchanges between the two countries have risen steadily.
And to further promote such partnerships, the two leaders agreed to designate 2019 a
visit South Korea-Philippines year,... which will mark the 70th anniversary of the two
countries establishing diplomatic ties.
According to a Blue House press release, the South Korean President also expressed his
gratitude for the Philippines' support for the Moon administration's efforts to peacefully
resolve of the North Korea nuclear issue... as well as for the recent improvements in
inter-Korean relations.
The two leaders pledged their commitment to the denuclearization and establishment of
peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Also discussed during their meeting was economic cooperation between Seoul and Manila.
President Duterte said that President Moon's "New Southern Policy," which seeks to expand
South Korea's diplomatic relations and economic cooperation with ASEAN nations,... will help
the Philippines achieve its own economic goal.
Known as the "Ambisyon Natin 2040," President Duterte's own long-term policy is aimed at
transforming the Philippines into a mid-to-high-income nation by the year 2040 by creating a trustworthy,
poverty-free middle-class society.
Soon after their summit, Presidents Moon and Duterte signed an M-O-U pledging cooperation
between their two countries in areas including transportation, trade, and renewable energy,
which was then followed by a joint press conference.
And to honor the visiting Philippine President, a dinner banquet and cultural performances
were hosted by the South Korean president.
President Duterte will leave for Manila on Tuesday.

S. Korea readying for future inter-Korean talks, setting liaison office in Kaesong - Duration: 2:33.
The South Korean government is gearing up to implement the agreements reached during
last week's high-level inter-Korean talks.
Seoul's Unification Ministry plans to send its officials to the North to check sites
for establishing a joint liaison office... while the culture ministry is working on the
agenda for inter-Korean sports cooperation.
Oh Jung-hee has the details.
South Korea will soon send officials to check the Kaesong Industrial Complex... where the
two Koreas have agreed to establish a joint liaison office at Friday's high-level talks.
The complex is the two Koreas' joint industrial park located at the inter-Korean border.
But because it's been shut down since February 2016,... some pre-work needs to be done to
set up offices there.
Seoul's unification ministry says the officials will go and check the site to prepare for
necessary renovations... and establish a temporary liaison office first.
"A joint liaison office will station officials from both Seoul and Pyongyang.
It's a symbol of inter-Korean interaction taking place on the northern side of the border.
We expect it to be a groundbreaking measure that leads to stable improvement of inter-Korean
relations."
Meanwhile, South Korea's culture ministry is prepping for the inter-Korean sports talks
slated for June 18th.
Main talking points are forming unified teams for 2018 Asian Games to be held in Indonesia
this August... as well as holding an inter-Korean basketball game.
Seoul also plans to invite Pyongyang's athletes to participate in the World Shooting Championship...
that's to take place in South Korea late August.
The ministry says... it expects the two Koreas to engage more on a working-level after the
sports talks -- to discuss cultural interaction like publishing a joint Korean language dictionary.
Other than these schedules,... the two Koreas have a couple more events on their way.
A general-level military talks will be held on June 14th to lower tensions on the Korean
Peninsula... and the Red Cross Talks will be held on June 22nd for arranging reunions
of war-torn families.
The locations of the meetings have all been determined.
A joint event that Seoul and Pyongyang hoped to hold on June 15th -- to mark 18 years of
their first summit agreement in 2000 -- is unlikely to happen... as June is already jam-packed
with schedules for both Koreas.
Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

Kim-Trump summit set to start at 10AM KST on June 12: White House - Duration: 2:36.
Let's start with the summit the entire world is waiting for.
Up until this morning, we knew North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald
Trump would be meeting on June 12th in Singapore.
We now know the time the historic summit will start,... but the exact location in Singapore
is still under wraps for the time being.
Lee Seung-jae reports.
The date for the historic Pyongyang-Washington summit -- June 12th -- has been set for some
time now.
But we got some more details from the White House on Monday.
It says the summit will begin next Tuesday at 9AM Singapore time,... that's 10AM in Korea.
" And I can also tell you the schedule for -- tentatively -- for that first meeting will
be on June 12 at 9 a.m. Singapore time and take place June 11, 9 p.m. East Coast time."
With the timing arranged, there's still the question of the summit location.
The Singapore government has declared the area surrounding the Shangri-La Hotel a "special
event area" for the period of June 10th to the 14th for the upcoming summit.
Observers say this could mean a number of things.
It could mean the Shangri-La Hotel is the summit location, it could also be where one
of the leaders will be staying, or could even be a "decoy" for security purposes.
The Capella Hotel on Sentosa has also been mentioned as either the summit location or
where Kim or Trump may stay.
However,... watchers say the Shangri-La Hotel may be the favored location as it has held
major conferences over the years,... including numerous ASEAN summits,... and has also hosted
U.S. presidents before, including Barack Obama and George H.W. Bush.
As the two sides look to resolve their differences through diplomacy,... the White House has
clarified that the Trump administration's policy of "maximum pressure" through sanctions
remains in place... and will stay until the regime has abandoned its nuclear weapons.
"Our policy hasn't changed.
As the president stated, we have sanctions on, they're very powerful and we would not
take those sanctions off unless North Korea denuclearized."
The White House was clearing up remarks made last week by President Trump following his
meeting with a senior North Korean envoy.
Trump said he didn't want to use the term "maximum pressure" anymore to describe U.S.
pressure on Pyongyang.
He also said he looks forward to the day when he can take the sanctions off the regime.

Putin invited N. Korea's Kim for visit Russia in September - Duration: 0:47.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to Russia
in September.
This is according to Moscow-based RIA News Agency,... citing Russia's deputy speaker
of the lower house of parliament.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who visited Pyongyang last week, is said to have
delivered a personal invitation from Putin to Kim,... requesting his attendance at the
Eastern Economic Forum, held in Vladivostok every year.
The forum is an event many regional players attend,...
South Korean President Moon Jae-in, too, delivered a speech there last year.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is said to be considering going, while Japanese Prime Minister
Shinzo Abe also plans to join.

than 60 people.

Aram… horrific scenes coming out of that country… what's the latest?
Well Mark… the death toll from the eruption of Fuego volcano has taken a sudden jump.
Within the space of a few hours of a second eruption on Monday, it went from 33 to at
least 62, according to Guatemala's National Institute of Forensic Science.
The bodies were found in the small villages of Los Lotes and El Rodeo and only a few of
those bodies have so far been identified.
Dozens more people remain missing and it is feared the death toll could rise even further.
Volcanic ash and lava have buried villages surrounding Fuego volcano, which is located
about 40 kilometers south-west of the capital Guatemala City.
The lava and ash have been moving at a rapid pace, killing people who were still inside
their homes.
Rescuers are still trying to reach affected areas, but the harsh conditions are restricting
their access.
Nearly two million people are said to have been affected by the volcano and about three
thousand residents are staying at temporary shelters that have been set up.
Meanwhile, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake occurred near Guatemala's coast, but there are no reports
of damage so far.

Saudi Arabia issues first driving licenses to 10 women ahead of ban lift - Duration: 0:38.
Saudi Arabia issued its first driving licenses to ten women on Monday, just weeks before
a ban on female driving is lifted.
They swapped their foreign licenses with domestic ones and about two thousand other women are
expected to do the same next week.
The move came amid some doubt the kingdom would go ahead with the lifting of the ban
following a government crackdown on women activists who advocated their right to drive.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been pushing for more open policies towards women
to reshape Saudi Arabia ultra-conservative image.
