Is Mario Odyssey DOOMED VS Breath of the Wild? - Duration: 5:27.

[ON CAMERA] 2017 has been an INSANE year for video games.

Even with the overall quality of this year, I'd say there's still a pretty clear pick

to take it all this year.

Breath of the Wild is definitely the one to beat & if any game has the potential to dethrone

it, it has to be Mario Odyssey.

My question is, could that really happen?

Could Mario be a better game than Breath of the Wild?

If so, how?

The answer is complicated I think based on what we know about Mario Odyssey so far, it's

possible, but, it won't be easy.

& that's not to say no one will think it's better regardless, or that they'll like another

game most.

But those are isolated opinions.

This, is more about the consensus

[OFF CAMERA] Mario & Zelda games have a history of being

genre defining releases for the future generations to come.

The original Mario was and in many way is the benchmark for 2D platformers, the original

Zelda is a case study of how to inject a sense of exploration and the feeling of independent

experiences even back then & is the basis for many open world games today.

Go forward a bit to Mario 64 & Ocarina of time to see yet again they redefined their

respective genres all over again while simultaneously showing every other dev how to translate their

2D games into the 3rd dimension regardless of genre with Zelda in particular coming out

on top with many people hailing it as the best game of its time.

[ON CAMERA] Don't tell nobody but...

I disagree.. more on that here

[OFF CAMERA] Now in 2017 Breath of the Wild is the game

that developers, critics, & players alike have their eye on as far the new standard

in its genre.

I'd say that's because of the developer's focus on straying away from the Zelda norms,

Breath of the Wild was all about bring Zelda into modern day and refining established norms

in the genre as a whole.

Breath of the Wild is very much a case of taking what works and making those things

better.

Zelda takes a lot from games like Skyrim, Far Cry, & Dark Souls all the while it adds

it's own refinements with things like the Chemistry Engine, increased exploration through

climbing without any real barriers, and leaving it up to players to make discoveries on their

own rather than charting out distinct paths to discovering the world or overcoming challenges.

On the other hand Mario Odyssey seems to have a separate approach.

Rather than reinventing 3D Mario through borrowing from contemporary games and improving upon

those ideas, Mario Odyssey aims to perfect an old formula that has since been abandoned

in favor of simpler formats.

That's not to say Mario Odyssey isn't trying anything new, or trying to solve any

problems from past Mario games.

That's not the case at all.

It's just improving on concepts that haven't been innovated on in a long, long time.

3D Mario games are kind of the precursor to the open world genre, they're not QUITE

open, but at the same time, they're not linear.

They're somewhere in the middle.

The advantage to this is it makes it easier to introduce and throw away new concepts in

isolated portions of the game in a natural way.

Open world games can't really manage things like this effectively because of the nature

of the world.

When the goal is a giant cohesive open world it's not as easy to introduce mechanics

that are only used in short bursts without it being forced or random.

& that extends to the world itself.

To be cohesive there needs to be a seamless approach to making the world diverse.

Areas in the world should blend together.

While Mario Odyssey's approach allows for different parts of the game to look DRASTICALLY

different without having to worry about how to naturally stitch them together.

Mario Odyssey could also have the edge in its diversity of gameplay.

Mario is a lot more agile than Link and his moveset is a lot more diverse.

& that's even before accounting for Mario's ability to CAPTURE a variety of enemies, objects,

allies…

? Breath of the Wild gives the player control by way of a comparatively limited moveset

that can interact with the world, so gameplay ends up being diverse, but it's more situational

and less intentional.

You're given a toolset at the beginning of the game and are tasked with progressing

with that predefined toolset.

There's a lot that can be done with that, as you'll know after exploring the world,

clearing the shrines, and conquering dungeons but nothing is able to be TOO different because

of this.

Mario being given new abilities almost entirely throughout makes the experience fresh throughout.

Rather than giving you a different take on something you already know like Breath of

the Wild, Mario Odyssey makes you gain an understanding of new things.

[ON CAMERA] All of this is to say, who knows if Mario

Odyssey will be better?

I sure don't, however after looking into what we know so far about Odyssey, it's

good to know that it very well could at the very least go head to head for Game of the

Year.

But those are my thoughts, what do you think?

Will Mario Odyssey come out on top?

Will Zelda hold onto the 2017 crown?

Or are you rallying behind something DUMB like Persona.

Let me know in the comments, don't forget to like, share, and BE SURE to cicl that subscribe

button and bell while you're at it.

Ok, that's it for me.

See you next week.

Or maybe sooner.

Again click the bell…

PLAYER UNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS M249 - The ULTIMATE GUIDE to the M249! PUBG M249 - Duration: 7:18.

Welcome to the M249 in player unknown's battlegrounds.

Today we are going to take a closer look at this beast of a weapon.

My own chances of getting a chicken dinner have always increased dramatically as soon

as I picked up this monster, even more then when I picked up an AWM and that means a lot.

In battlegrounds that call it lighter than it looks, but I find that very hard to believe.

Try picking it up in real life and you will understand what I mean, it weighs 17 pounds

or 7.5 kg and 10 kg or 22 pounds when it is loaded with ammo.

Not what I would call a lightweight weapon.

Luckily it's a video game and we don't have to drag it around when we sprint uphill,

while we jump off a building or when we think it's a good idea to go for a swim with the

m249 strapped to our back.

So respect for the real life soldiers who have to carry it around on a daily basis.

The m249 is the American version of the Belgian FN Minimi and they used to call it the M249

SAW which stands for Squad Automatic Weapon.

You will have to go for those airdrops if you want to add this monster weapon to your

loadout, because you will never find it lying around as a normal pickup.

But you can prepare yourself for this weapon by collecting extra 5.56mm ammo.

If you are lucky you might find 200 rounds of 5.56mm ammo in the airdrop that brought

you the m249, if not then you will only get 100.

You would think that this is a lot but you can fire off 100 bullets in less than 10 seconds,

so it might be wise to collect some extra ammo just in case you want get trigger happy.

In battlegrounds, the m249 can cause 44 damage points.

This is slightly more than 41 for the M416, the M16a4 and the scar l, but it's slightly

less than the 48 damage points for the akm.

The initial bullet speed is 915 meters per second and that is better than all assault

rifles.

This means that you barely have to lead your target if you decide to go for long range

kills with the m249.

Each magazine has a capacity of 100, in other words, you're are going to need a lot of

ammo.

It takes 0.075 seconds between shots, as a result you can fire more than 10 bullets per

second and this also means that it will take 9.9 seconds to empty a full magazine.

This is where the strength of this weapon lies, in the rate of fire.

The great thing about the m249 is the fact that you can cause up to 443 damage per second

and that is a lot of damage.

To put this into perspective, the highest dps assault rifle can only cause 421 damage

per second.

So you are outperforming all the other players who carry assault rifles because you can kill

faster.

I'm sure that it comes as no surprise that you can't reload faster.

This is one of the biggest downsides of the m249.

You better make sure that you have some cover because it will take you 7.1 seconds for a

reload with bullets left and 8.2 seconds for an empty reload.

So it's wise to reload long before you engage someone in a firefight.

You won't have to worry about the firing mode, there is only one, and that is fully

automatic.

All it takes is 3 bullets to kill a guy who isn't wearing any armor at all and as you

know, you will need to fire more bullets if your enemy is wearing any kind of armor.

4 bullets against a guy who is wearing level 1 or 2 and 6 bullets against the highest level

of armor.

It always pays off when you go for headshots, even with the m249.

One headshot to kill if the guy wasn't lucky enough to find a helmet, 2 shots against level

1 or 2 and one extra shot against the best helmet in player unknown's battlegrounds.

One of the advantages of the m249 is that you don't have to worry about finding the

right attachments, because there are none.

The game does not allow you to attach anything other than a sight.

It speaks for itself that this weapon is best used for short to medium range kills.

But make no mistake, you can still use it with an 8x scope to make long range kills.

Just make sure that you use tap fire, otherwise the weapon is difficult to control.

I went to the firing range with this weapon, but since we only have one firing mode I will

compare the weapon when it is being fired without aiming, with using the targeting mode

when you hold your right mouse button and with ads.

The first 6 bullets are still ok when you don't aim.

Then the gun pulls up, bullet 7 was the neck shot, 8 and 9 were the headshots and then

the gun pulls violently to the left at which point it becomes uncontrollable.

When i used the targeting mode then the first 7 shots were good, then the gun jumps up with

8 just missing his ear, 9 hitting his head, 10 being a perfect headshot right in between

the eyes and all the other bullets missed their target.

Now what about ads, this looks pretty awesome he, a perfect straight line, easy to compensate

for with 10 bullets on target.

So it speaks for itself that you should use ads as much as possible when you want to dominate

player unknown's battlegrounds like you saw in this video.

We all spend most of our time using an akm, m416, m16a4 or the scar l.

So I will compare the m249 with those weapons because it will make it easier for us to understand

the strengths and weaknesses.

You know about the damage points, so I will bring back those stats.

There is also a difference in initial bullet speed.

The akm is the slowest in this regard, it only has an initial bullet speed of 715 meters

per second.

Then comes the scar l with 870, the m416 with 880, the m16a4 with 900, and then the m249,

with 915 meters per second.

The time difference between shots tells a similar story, the m249 is better than all

the other weapons, except for the m16a4.

This means that you can fire more than 10 bullets per second with both of these guns.

The outcome of these stats is that you can still deal more damage per second with the

m249, 443 compared to 421 for the m16a4 and the scar l performs worst with only 348.

The reload times are terrible for the m249, and the difference is massive, so make sure

that you bring a backup weapon or make sure that you have to opportunity to reload in

between firefights.

The m249 also has a lot more base spread compared to the other weapons, 8 compared to 6 for

the akm, 4 for the m416 and the scar l and 5 for the m16a4.

All of this leads up to the body and headshot damage charts.

As you know m249 lies somewhere in between the akm and the other weapons with regards

to damage, but the bullets needed to kill is almost exactly the same as the bullets

needed to kill with the m416, m16a4 and the scar l.

The only difference is that you only need 4 bullets to kill a guy who is wearing level

2 armor compared to 5.

The amount of bullets needed for headshots is exactly the same but keep in mind that

you will be firing these bullets faster when you use the m249.

While you are here, why not check out this video where you can see the m249 in action.

As you know the Youtube likes and shares are very helpful to me.

If you think that this video is worthy, would you mind taking a moment to like this video

and to share it with all you buddies?

This was FOG of GAMING, thanks for watching and I will see you in battlegrounds.

My Experience At VidCon 2017 - Duration: 4:49.

VidCon was a thing that happened, and it was fun.

And I got to reunite with Abby.

Abby: Like look I'm home! (laughs)

Andrea: Look who's back in my life!

Andrea: Are we doin-what are we printing?

Abby: We are going to print our tickets

and get our tickets so we can actually attend VidCon. (laughs)

Andrea: Oh yeah yeah yeah, we'll update you.

And then I got to go to the FemTube panel

and I got to speak a little bit about the struggles I deal with as a creator.

Andrea: They told me I had to interact in this panel.

Daniel: The lighting is just...

Andrea: Is it bad?

Daniel: Hello everybody!

(laughs)

Andrea: I like how you're going to vlog me but

but I don't actually know if I'm going to make a vlog.

Andrea: So my group just wanted me to

talk about my experience of the struggle.

Um, I make disabled related videos.

And I talk about my disability a lot.

But it's hard picking subjects because

I have an age demographic from like

12-26 but then I have a 55+

demographic of guys watching.

And they start commenting like fetish stuff

of wanting to see my feet.

And it's difficult because now I'm starting to talk more

about like sex and disability and I get nervous posting

because I'm just like (pauses)

are they going to start asking questions because they

want to learn or they just wanna masturbate to this content.

And I think that's the struggle because I'm just like

(inhales deeply)

I feel uncomfortable.

So that's all I got.

(buzzer goes off)

Andrea: Hey!

(claps from the audience)

After that I got to see my lovely friends

Allie, Rikki and Annie speak on the Disabilities on YouTube Panel.

Annie: Well first we have to discuss what Inspiration Porn is.

Because some people might not know.

Allie: Yeah could you clap if you're aware what interect-or inspiration porn is?

(few claps)

Allie: So like some, could you explain what it is?

Annie: Um, okay I'll try.

Inspiration porn is essentially when the narrative of a

disabled person is told for abled audiences.

And usually as an object of pity.

Um, it's when you see stories about

how amazing it is when a guy asks a girl in a wheelchair to prom.

Andrea: So accessibility at VidCon was a bit odd.

There was reserved seating for disabled people.

But I found myself and Abby when she wasn't using her mobility aids

getting harassed by people attending VidCon

and by the security guards at VidCon.

Everybody kept acting like the "Disability Police".

And then a lot of people kept walking in front of Abby's

interpreters, resulting in her not being able to have

access to what's being said on stage.

Accessibility at VidCon for me was an absolute mess.

And there seems to be a lack of educating

the general public about people with disabilities.

But especially the security guards.

VidCon, if you're going to have disability panels

and if you're going to provide "accessibility" for your disabled attendees

you need to educate everyone.

Share our video tips that many disabled creators have made

so that the general public can watch them.

And especially share our videos with your workers.

We literally are providing you with free education tools.

I sat at a panel by myself and I was sitting in the disabled seating section

and a security guard came up to me and said

"This is disabled seating."

I responded and said "I know, I'm disabled"

and he looked at me and went "No you're not."

VidCon you need to educate your workers on what disability looks like.

Other than the annoyance of accessibility at VidCon

I did have a really good time.

I got to meet a lot of my online friends for the very first time.

Which by the way,

if you haven't met Annie Elainey

I say meet her and ask her for a hug

because she gives the best hugs

in the entire world.

seriously.

Overall I liked VidCon, I think there are some

improvements they can do.

But I'm happy with my first trip and seeing all of my friends.

I especially wanna thank my friend Elijah for

allowing me to come on this trip.

I thank you so much, you've done so much for me and

I love you very much!

Also because I don't want Katie to feel left out

because (scoffs) needy

Hi Katie, I'm so happy I got to meet you!

And also,

hey Abby girl! Hey what's up!

So that's my video, I hope next time when I go to VidCon

I can be a featured creator.

That'd be kinda cool.

But I hope you enjoyed like this little vlog footage.

I didn't vlog a lot because I just wanted to enjoy the moment.

So that's all I have, if you wanna support my work

the links to my Patreon and my PayPal

are down in the description below.

And I will see all of you next time.

bye!

Inner Peace - Duration: 15:10.

inner piece comes in many forms some people meditate for it some people drink

to copious oblivion for it whatever your form of inner peace, inner

peace is that inner knowing an inner knowing that you're comfortable within yourself as

much as I don't condone drugs or alcohol because many of those substance abuse

issues lead to long term depression finding peace within allows you to

function and allows you to function in a creative capacity and move through your

issues as I shot one by one I'm not going to stand here and tell you that

any person is more enlightened than another but within yourself to find that

inner peace within yourself is to know that you love yourself know that you

believe in yourself and to reintegrate all those fractured parts and those

components of yourself that he dislodged and disowned and try to forget but then

there are new berating you and wrecking you in so many different manners from

your inability to open up and express yourself in new fundamental ways and to

grow and flourish and blossom at all ages of your life in a peace will give

you an acceptance of yourself and your faults and flaws because we have

humility for our strengths we're kind to our weaknesses bring that same level of

understanding acceptance to the people our life we get to see others as a

mirror reflection of our self of where we're at in our life where we're going

because up here is our societal partners and their family are very much a window

to our soul just like the eyes are just like your total voice in your body

language dictate the storyline of how others perceive you the reference points

of others in your juxtaposition of vicinity the people you work with what

you will accept in the conditions of how others treat you because all window into

your soul of your own inner peace of whatever level layer or construct or

energetic vibration that you live inner peace is not meditating on a

mountaintop like a monk finding severe serenity in the serene surroundings

it can also be being happy in the Bronx being happy in the burbs being happy

that your kids have somebody to look up to even when you're struggling in a

piece of something you find from internal conditions are not external it

was the last time you gave you five self five minutes to sit with yourself to be

with yourself and to really love where you're at regardless of the

circumstances many of us have grown up with different parameters of hardship

struggle torment pain grief lost nubra has desires forbidden dreams

if we don't give ourselves permission to

see our life for what it is make the changes in any given moment more

conducive to who we want to be do see and have all overseas darkness

I won't ever get to see the light the key to inner peace is to see the light

in any given moment last year I had to face a lot of financial issues for

walking away from our business and my family because it took me 38 years to

run away from home from the constant spiderweb of psychological abuse it was

endearing in my family that I endeavored to want to understand in order to see my

brother happy in home from prison to enjoy the company of our family and my

mother and father to move to a no grade level of abundant love through effective

communication but that wasn't to be the so up until that point and so I had to

run away I had to leave because I was at a cost to me my inner peace ordinate be

now to maintain my happiness just through that confines are being flogged

within an inch of my sane life probably putting an institution locked up for

forever for my desire to want to move through the obstacles issues that they

weren't capable of because they were so inebriated from not being able to admit

their defeat and faults and problems that are beating each other over the

head with in order to avoid that which was ultimately going on for them so I

ran away from home I travelled across Australia I studied courses to bring a

person development education to the system about mental health and about

family dynamics and about effective communication while the banks were

raping my bank account I didn't know who to turn to you know who to trust because

the very people who brought me to this world who are responsible for raising me

we're probably the most in a breeding lee destructive natured called goodwill

intention people I've ever known and they're our goodwill they got our

good intentioned the truth is is that they see things from one side of view or

one side of perception where they don't see anything for any others this

perspective because they only have a one world view and they believe the way they

see the world is the way the is not realizing that everybody has a

different composition of context and that people identity is developed from

that which is why they spent so many years bidding each other over their own

heads and ultimately that's what they did in the end they beat each other up

in their own heads because I can't find the own version of inner peace yeah sure

they'll tell you they're happy they'll surely tell you they've got everything

they ever dreamed of but really ultimately they don't because they want

grandkids they want a happy family they don't know how to evolve or development

because I've never ever seen anything from another world view to find their

own inner peace they've always found it from external

resources so I spent 38 years running away from

home travelled all across Australia had a banks raping pillaging we didn't know

who to turn to I even asked the banks for help and they just kept saying no we

can't help you because of this SNS I spent six months learning to my truck

thinks this sucks so I wandered I wandered from Beach to

Beach waking up on a new sunrise every morning through a new scenery and new

waves rolling in surfing all these beautiful spots in the Garden of Eden

it's totally allowing myself to forget that you monkeys live because it up

until that point I see new monkeys as monkeys not human beings even they

fascinate me for a long time humanity shat me because all I've wanted to do is

understand and I haven't been out of trust anybody because I haven't known

what to ask or how to ask it without somebody pulling the rug out from under

our feet and I mean that was all due respect

sincerely because that's how I found my inner peace how do you find your inner

peace because now that I've found mine going from Beach to Beach

being inebriated financially and learning back getting back to my own

health and fitness regime and being true to myself I've become more fascinated by

humanity because the more I look around the more I see random I see all these

social issues and confined to the construct that I could already see that

I was never allowed to speak okay so right now my dream of studying and

effective communication of family dynamics education system is very real

and even though this is a bit of a spill how do you feel about your own inner

peace when you look into your dreams and your communication your relationships

and everything else that operates around you can you take five minutes to step

back and allow yourself to love and have gratitude for every moment of

degradation and destructive nature of what's got on your life right now

because there is a lot with only 25 percent of population in financial

abundance without they ever need to go to work again that means we are all

struggling small business is at an ever greater capacity of failure housing

repossession is at an exponential rate over the last seven to eight years

divorce is an all-time high mental health is growing through the roof

suicide exponentially and rapidly growing in capacity the destructive

nature of humanity is an all-time high that I put down to being a complete

monkey show because we are monkeys we operate so much more ofter ego than we

do offer place of balance altruism and narcissism to produce the actual space

of inner pieces these cultural communities develop we're more inclined

to want to hustle and grab and clutch for money to try and get at this end

result of dreams only two to five centers they're ever going to attain

that we put it on our stand and climb on each other's heads to push each other

around and it's emotional blackmailing manipulative construct of culture and

development and nobody's awesomely happy but everyone will tell you that how do

you create your happiness inner peace comes from a focus I focus within an

internalization of self-respect and spirit connected to other trust of self

trust of other trust of ecology trust of environment will bring you the external

and the internal reflection of inner peace that will have you see happiness

in the chaos and not happiness like hey I'm happy but happy like yes I can turn

on the camera I can talk about this because I feel

balance poison graced I don't walk around like a like a monk always in

peace I get cranky and cranky I was kidding around social media they'll tell

you how much I smack people around when I see fit because they won't communicate

and step back into the constructive argue because I do love arguments but

not to be right I like arguments because I get to learn

I get to grow I get to see the world as a never new way and fascinates me to

understand the monkey show to an ever deeper capacity that's right I find my

inner peace that's what I state take five minutes back and that's where I

learn to evolve with my perceptions in my evolution in the way that I see my

role that I play with you because I'm not spending the rest of my life in a

mental institution I'm not spending my life in a family that wants to beat me

down emotionally because I'm willing to face up to their own stuff or understand

themselves from somebody else's perception I refuse to be part of

relationships don't let me abrasively grow I do that through arguing so do

that through resolving open so I'm not always right I like being proved wrong

because that shows me where I need to move to to grow in order to find an ever

greater capacity of inner peace and that is so much shamanic practice that is so

much woohoo I was raised a Christian and put through

Bible School made to bow the altar of my own bed praying forgiveness tonight

praying for forgives us nightly whilst listening to my mother and father smash

it out in the bedroom and my father near on raped my mother nightly until she

become emotionally hardened to blackmail him with his own psychology

staying there right in front of amounted kitchen bench saying go on then punch me

right between the eyes to show your boys how much of a man you are and yet after

they divorced 18 years later they still have the very same psychology as one

another because they put so many crosses on the board so he rules in place that

they put a conferring a title on the direction they are taking that neither

of them we're allowed to have their own personality because they had rules they

had boundaries ahead guidelines and restrictions restricting them from

growing and elevating in their personality to actually be who they

individually wanted to be I have no desire to control you you or

you or you they want to control this and same for

you only one you can control is you the only one who will take you to inner

peace is you and learn to abrasively move through issues and obstacles in

your relationships to find that deeper level of love and connection and

happiness within your relationships abroad that is how you build family

dynamics 38 years to run away from home banks try and push me into a hole and

yet every morning the Sun come up and the waves kept laughing on the shoreline

and as I stand here move my waistline to the baseline I'm loving life inner peace

is what I found inner peace is what I've created inner peace is what I've learned

to be see how do and teach so if you want to learn for me and how to

implement this ideology into your ecology hit that book extrication let's

just open a conversation how about how I can best serve you moving for in your

life to find ever greater capacity and deals in order to solve your problems

because life and the quality of life and inner peace is in very much in to

finding the solutions and not identifying the problems my family chose

issue is they love to identify the problems not necessarily solving them

but identifying them time and time again it's like walking the one pass down

through the jungle clearing the pathway to get to the clearing from that

clearing you can create the way trip wire cutting that path so many strong

rocks in front of it that you've got to climb over and jump around there

tripping you up and putting sticks in front pull the rug out from under feet

that is instructive nature of what taught be to find inner peace because

when you've got people doing that to you repeatedly you've only got one option

really or two options fall over and die crumbling death like a man in a heap

learn to have fun learn laugh learn to see things in a lot of manner put your

BUILDING CONFIDENCE AS A NEW DIETITIAN/INTERN - Duration: 5:31.

(MUSIC)

Ki everyone my name is Kim I am a registered dietitian; Welcome to my

channel. So I have some videos below that I do want you guys to take a look at and

don't be shy to make this one of your channel homes. MI casa, su casa! So today

we are going to be talking about confidence. There is actually a comment left in one

of my previous videos about how to build confidence as a new dietitian so I'm

going to take this a step further and say how to build confidence as a new

dietitian or dietetic intern. So of course, let's face it not everybody is

born confident. Confidence is something that is learned and depending on our

life experiences, circumstances that we've been through it depends if is

either builds our confident or it breaks it down.

So I'm going to share with you some things that I did to build my confidence

when I was a new dietitian and when I was a dietetic intern. So the first one

is realize that you're competent. There's a reason why you're taking all these

nutrition classes and metabolism classes. There's a reason behind all of this

madness. Now let's face it when you do get into the work field you're going to

face many challenges: you're gonna face challenges from the nurses, from the

doctors, and from family members, but realize you are the nutrition expert and

you may have to tactfully, emphasis on that word, fight tooth and nail for your

colleagues and for some family members to see that. I remember when I was in my

dietetic internship I had a preceptor I would never forget...I was about to say her name,

I'm not I'm not going to spill her name and she said to the patient "You know what

Sir, I'm the nutrition expert not you!" and he just coo,l calm, and collected he-- he

stepped down. I'm not telling you guys to do that, I'm not telling you guys to say

that, but that was really my first experience with realizing as dietitians

you --you are the professional expert; nurses, physicians (doctors), family members,

friends; whoever it may be if they do not have an RD behind their name

that doesn't mean anything. Another thing that you want to do is to stay current:

being current, staying current comes from CEUs, reading journal articles that the

Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics puts forth or even if you're in another

country just staying up-to-date on evidenced based emphasis on evidence based

because there's a lot of information circulating on the web and I've made a

video about why the worldwide web, why your computer is not your personal

dietitian. There's a lot of information circulating and some of those things are

true and a lot of them are false and have no backing, have no evidence behind

it. So if you're a dietitian and you're practicing in the archaic manner or way of

doing things you're not current, your work cannot be trusted

so stay current. The number three thing that is going to build confidence is communication.

Working on your communication skills-- get those verbal pauses out of your

vocabulary such as 'um'. Not using slang words when you're speaking to a patient,

when you're speaking to another professional who may or may not be in

the same discipline as you. So just some real-life scenarios, some situations that

I've been through because to be honest with you I consider myself to be a very

shy person and when I started out in the field of nutrition and dietetics as an

intern, as a new graduate I wasn't the most confident person, but there have

been some times where you know I've had some physicians come to me and question

me about certain recommendations and of course something that I always use is

the term "evidence-based, evidence-based". So something that I tell my physicians

all the time when I do speak with them is you know well this is-- this is not

evidenced based. You know don't be discouraged as a new dietitian or as a

dietitian student because you have to build your name, you have to build your

rapport so that they (ex: colleagues, other professionals, etc) know that they can trust you or not. I know for me in my

hospital it took some time for them to be able to trust me, but I was tenacious

with it and if I saw that there was a physician

that was giving me hard time I would go up to them one-on-one

and discuss the nutritional status of a particular patient. Just realize if you

are starting an internship, if you are starting a job it takes time to build

rapport, but be confident don't let anyone second-guess you,

correct the fallacies, but do it in a very tactful manner, learn how to

communicate properly professionally and appropriately and these things will in

turn build your confidence. Confidence is something that is built with time. So

guys this is it, these are my few tips for how to build confidence as a

dietetic intern, as a new dietitian, or someone that is just struggling in the

field to have confidence, to have people respect their professional opinion. So as

usual remember to subscribe as well as like and comment in the comment section

below. Dor any dietitian who may be watching this or for any dietetic intern

who may be watching this and you have any stories that you want to share about

confidence or any other ways to improve confidence do not be afraid to leave

that in my comment section below. Thank you guys and have a good day. Bye.
