How Celebrities Prepare For The Oscars Red Carpet | Beauty With Mi | Refinery29 - Duration: 7:49.
This is where I'm going to get naked.
Hey guys, it's Mi-Anne and this is Beauty With Mi.
Today's a little bit different because
I'm going to be bringing you along vlog style
as I get ready, for an award show like a celebrity would.
So I actually found out a few things that
celebrities obviously do and I'm going to
be doing a couple of those things today.
I will be going to the Joanna Vargas spa in New York.
That spa has actually prepped a ton of different celebrities
for awards shows including Betty Gilpin,
Dakota Johnson, Emma Roberts, Greta Gerwig,
Mandy Moore, Maggie Gyllenhaal
the list goes on.
And I'm seeing her head esthetician there her name is Sara.
She's going to be doing the full body detox peel on me,
which basically gets your skin prepped
for photography and the red carpet for events.
So I'm going to go over there right now
and afterward I'm actually going to have
a glam squad getting my hair and makeup done,
potentially in the likeness of Margot Robbie because
she is one of my favorites to watch on the red carpet.
So I think it will be a very fun day.

at the Joanna Vargas spa and we're
going to do the full body detox peel today.
Awesome.

I'm excited for my body to be glowing after this.

Okay cool!
So this is the first step in the full body detox
and it's the micro-germ aberration.
So it really preps the skin to receive the hydration.
It's main purpose is exfoliation
and it's using the crystal tipped wand.
To get off the dead skin cells and suck them
away so that everything is nice and smooth
and even and it leaves the whole body feeling baby soft.
The next step we're going to do is coconut oil based.
So inside the ball is the coconut flakes
and we're able to infuse them into the skin.
Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory, it's antibacterial,
it's not greasy it's very light.
And the way we're infusing it in you could literally get off
the bed and get dressed and be ready for an
event or real life.
That was amazing.
I can totally see why so many celebrities
do this before the red carpet,
Yeah.
Because it makes your skin look so even.
And it's great thing because you do it so fast
it was one hour.
One hour.
And there's no recovery time.
My skin feels so smooth,
I honestly don't think my skin has ever felt this smooth before.
I'm so happy.
I didn't know it was possible.

Hey guys so I am back at work I am just in our
studio but I have just came out the full
detox body peel at Joanna Vargas and my skin feels so good.
I was a little bit worried that it would hurt but it actually
just felt like very gentle sandpaper kinda gliding over my skin.
I really liked the experience it was very relaxing but it is
not cheap it's $250 plus to get the peel.
If you can't get to Joanna's spa or if you simply
don't want to drop $200 on a treatment which I don't blame you.
You can try using some stuff at home that
can give you a nice body buffing but won't
necessarily cost as much.
I've been really loving this body scrub lately it's a new one from Dove.
It's called the exfoliating body polish
and this one is in the crush macadamia and
rice milk set it smells really good.
And what I like about this body scrub is that
rather than just being like sugar and walnut in an oil,
it's actually in this really creamy mixture
that doesn't leave a greasy residue on your skin.
So you can put it on and you can scrub it on it,
it feels very smooth.
It's not too abrasive and when you rinse it off
it rinses off super easily.
It doesn't leave an oily residue on your skin
and it also doesn't leave an oily ring
around your bathtub which a lot of scrubs can do.
Now that my skin is prepped I'm going to actually
have a glam squad come in and do
my hair and makeup so I'm very excited about that.

because sadly my day as a celebrity
has come to an end and I'm not attending the Oscars,
I'm actually just at home just in my
sheep robe that says "Off to sheep we go."
Hanging out with our cat.
Chill night in, but it was really fun getting ready
like a celebrity this day was unreal.
Having the body peel was amazing.
It was super relaxing, getting my hair and makeup done was really fun.
Although I will say I do like doing my makeup myself.
Even if I were to go to an award show I think I would
want to do my own makeup just because
I love makeup that much.
But hair wise, I'm no hair professional and having
someone do something on me that
was a little bit out of my comfort zone was really fun.
I never do this slick kind of smoother hair style so
that was really fun.
I definitely learned some things from Vanessa.

So today we're going to shake it up a little bit and I'm going to talk about a
very different kind of real estate because normally on this channel I'm
talking about you know, physical real world, real wealth real estate. Today, I
want to talk about digital real estate. I want to talk about YouTube because you
and I, we got something going on here, we got this community built and I'm sharing
with you how you can invest successfully in real estate but this is also real
estate unto itself and you might be watching this thinking, "Man, I wish I
could do what Kris does, I wish I could produce videos and share my talents and
abilities and passions that might be different than real estate and can you
do that to make money? That's coming your way right now.
So today I want to talk about real estate but maybe in a little bit of a
different light than some of you might have been thinking in the past. You know
that I'm a huge fan of real estate, real estate houses some of my core
investments in how I diversify and how I build and grow wealth but YouTube is
also a format of real estate. We are in this digital age and if you think of
what the internet started out as and what it is, this channel right here is a
nice little spot of juicy real estate where I get to build a community, I get
to interact with you, I get to take your questions and comments and concepts and
create videos just for you and it's a piece of real estate and that real
estate also produces income, it produces money and I've had some of your reaching
out saying, "Kris, if you're so successful then why are you doing YouTube?" And first
of all, I've tried to answer that one of my other videos just to let you know
that I love helping people, I love creating value for people, I love
pointing and showing the way. I was recently in the airport and had someone
run up to me and and throw their arms around me and high-five and so excited
because of how this channel helped them do something and ever since I wrote my
very first book, that was one of the most rewarding parts of writing that book was
knowing having people come back in my life and tell me how it helped them do
real estate and succeed at it, this channel is really just an extension of
the books that I've written and doing everything I can to help you be
successful but I also get to make money through
YouTube, that's actually kind of a perk and a plus, there's a couple of ways
that that happens and if you've ever wanted to know how to make money on
YouTube then I want to invite you to really perk up your ears and listen in
