All set for the World Cup in Italy⎢VLOG 22 - Duration: 4:13.

Good morning Jana

Good morning!

I had such a good night's sleep.

The time flies very fast here.

I had two training sessions yesterday, and also the day before yesterday.

The race starts tomorrow and I'm gonna have a day.

The schedule for today won't be very busy, it's gonna be an easy day.

This hotel is not located directly in Ivrea,

but it's very nice one.

It takes us about 30 minutes to get to the course.

The driving is not so bad. It's about the same distance as from Bratislava to Čunovo.

The breakfast was nice.

Now I'm going to check where is my paddling gear.

If there are no balconies at the hotel, it's always a problem to find a place for drying our paddling gear.

We usually hang out the wet suff on the hotel staircase,

but sometimes during the night the hotel staff removes it and we have to look for it in the morning.

Yesterday I hanged out my gear here on the staircase and in the evening I found it up there on the rooftop.

Great! Everything is here.

This time we're lucky to have a terrace at the hotel.

Now it's time to head to the course. Some training should still be underway.

The course construction and the demo run is scheduled for the afternoon.

The last official trainings are running right now.

Ivrea got a World Cup race for the second time and the local people are very proud to have such a venue

and to host such a big international event.

And also we - athletes - are very happy to come here, to this beautiful place under the mountains.

We are back to the course after the lunch break

The course for the heats is set and the demo runs just finished.

It seems there are no extremely difficult sections on the course,

but I think that this steep bottom part with many rolls will be crucial.

For a good result one needs keep the boat running across this bottom section.

We are gonna make the plan for the rest of the day.

I'll be on the course tomorrow 15:04.

Getting to know the fire brigade in Switzerland when I was three.

Gypsy Kids sparks viewer backlash: 'Using children for propaganda'

CONTROVERSIAL: Viewers didnt like what they saw on Gypsy Kids.

The show returned to Channel 5 tonight and split opinion within minutes of being on air. It introduced viewers to a handful of traveller children around the country, including nine-year-old Margaret and eight-year-old Indianna.

The series aimed to show the nation the secret life of a culture that most people have seen, yet few have experienced.

MESS: Viewers were angry at the litter left behind. Many of the trailers in which the kids lived had no running water, meaning they had to fill up tanks each day.

Margaret, who went to a graveyard to get her water, said: Its hard because we havent got no water, washing machine, sink or a bath. But most viewers had absolutely no sympathy whatsoever, due to the scenes of wreckage that surrounded their homes.

STRUGGLES: The travellers had to find water in different places, such as a graveyard.

DIVIDED: Viewers couldnt make their minds up about the show. A viewer One said: They cant understand why they keep getting moved on.

Just look at all the rubbish you have round your van, that you leave behind. Another had an answer for why people arent fond of them, saying: Well, because you dont pay tax, you contribute nothing of value to society and you leave a mess. A third wrote: If they respected the grounds around them they wouldnt get half the stick they get.

Nothing wrong with their culture, its the mess. And someone else added: There are permanent sites. They choose not to because that would involve taxes.

Using kids for propaganda. Poor television. But others were less judgemental, with one person saying: Makes me sick citizens of the UK getting treated like second class people.

DESTRUCTION: Jamesie and his family were made homeless.

A second said: Literally seeing grown adults tweeting vile things about children, I hope your own kids dont grow up with the same mindset. While another wrote: These kids are great. Society treats them like s***.
