If I were to ask you how many continents there are you might think "what an easy question!"

and if like me you are from the English speaking world you would say seven.

but if you ask some people from elsewhere in the world you could be told as few as 5.

Why is that and what are the different models of thought?

Watch this video and find out.

Before we begin lets define what a continent is:

A continent is one of several very large landmasses on Earth.

There are no set guidelines for defining a continent and they are generally identified

by history and convention rather than any strict criteria.

up to seven regions are commonly regarded as continents.

Ordered from largest in size to smallest, they are: Asia, Africa, North America, South

America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.

In geology, areas of continental crust, found on continental plates largely correspond to

the continents, and a number of areas of continental crust are regions covered with water not usually

included in the list of continents.

These are known as submerged continents.

Islands are frequently grouped with a neighbouring continent to divide all the world's land into

geopolitical regions.

For example under this scheme, most of the island countries and territories in the Pacific

Ocean are grouped together with the continent of Australia to form a geopolitical region

called Oceania.

Ok so the concept of a continent is a little bit unclear so you can possibly see why different

countries might have different ideas about how many continents there are.

Because of this there are a number of models used throughout the world - not counting possible

submerged continents.

The most common model is the seven continent model I mentioned earlier which lists the

continents as; north America, south America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica and Australia/Oceania.

This seven-continent model is taught in China, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, parts of

Western Europe and most English-speaking countries.

After this there are two different models which say there are six continents:

One model combines Europe and Asia into one massive continent called Eurasia

The six-continent combined-Eurasia model is mostly used in Russia, Eastern European countires,

and Japan.

The second model makes north and south America into one into one big America:

this six-continent combined-America model is used in France and its former colonies,

Italy, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Latin America, and Greece.

Originations such as the UN and the Olympic committee use various forms of these models

removing Antarctica as it is un populated.

So the answer to the question of how many continents are there is between 5-7 depending

on your education system or maybe more if you count submerged continents such as Zealandia.

So to recap: There are no official rules for to define

continents.

There are anything between 5-7 continents And the number depends upon where you where

you grew up.

believe it or not but I wear thrasher

around 2012

I thought that it would be cool

to get into skate photography

just taking pictures of my friends

and I wanted to get into photographing nude models

just 4 fun

so I bought a Canon 600D

that was my first DSLR

started shooting in the automatic mode

which is shit - dont do that

after roughly 1 year I lost interest in photography and my camera had to stay at home

just like your mom

I then picked it up again due to seeing photography videos on YT

on YT it was mainly Froknowsphoto who inspired me

I was pumped to shoot

so I started to shoot again

I startet to shoot non skate related stuff

if you want to wear something because you like it

like some wide pants or pink clothes

and your friends keep telling you that you look shit

especially when you're in school

your "friends" will definitely talk shit

no matter how good or bad you look..trust me they'll talk shit about you

just live with it

it takes some time for them to get used to your sense of fashion

but it's you that has to like the clothes

not them

just be confident enough to deal with it

How to Ask for Referrals (without pushing or begging!) - Duration: 7:25.

Did you know that some people are afraid to ask for referrals?

Imagine that.

Not you, right?

I've had the opportunity to work with small business owners, financial professionals and

sales people from all around the world and the issues are the same.

"I don't know how to ask for referrals without feeling pushy."

"I don't want to hurt the relationship."

"I don't want to look needy."

"I'm not sure if I really provided any value yet."

"I don't want anyone to be put on the spot."

"I don't like it when they say no."

You name it, I've heard it.

Whatever fears or concerns you have around asking for referrals can be dissolved away

with the right process, if, and only if, you're willing to move past your mistaken assumptions

and limited thinking.

Now, I teach a value-centered approach to referrals.

We make the request mostly about wanting to truly provide value to others.

Therefore, fundamental to your lead generation through referral marketing is your belief

in the value that you bring to your clients.

If you doubt your value, make knowing your value you highest priority.

Think of the referrals that you get as the VIPS of your business, the Very Important

People of your business.

The "V" in the VIPS stands for Value Discussion, checking in with your prospects and clients

to make sure your communication and overall working relationship is on solid footing.

The value discussion is fundamental to your request for referrals.

So, for a brief report that expands on this important strategy, just go to thevaluediscussion.com.

The "I" in VIPS stands for Treat the Request with Importance.

You don't want to come across as needy or apologetic, you want to come from a place

of confidence because you know your value and because you want your clients to also

treat your request with importance.

If you feel awkward, your clients will feel awkward right along with you.

The "P" stands for Permission to Brainstorm or Explore.

This step has two parts actually.

First, the permission part.

Make sure that you don't assume that they're open to discussing referrals and introductions,

after all, not everyone is comfortable giving referrals and providing introductions.

So, you soften the approach just a little bit by making sure that it's okay with them.

Second, the brainstorm or explore part is about making the referral conversation a collaborative

process.

You want to work in collaboration with your clients to identify people who should know

about your value proposition.

I'll go through the entire word track in a minute, but first let's move to the "S"

in the VIPS.

The "S" stands for Suggest Names and Categories.

To feel confident and get the results you want, I strongly urge you to come prepared

with a few specific people or categories of a few people and let your referral sources

you know you've come prepared.

If you know one or more specific people in their life to whom you'd like to be introduced,

start there.

Be as specific, as targeted as you can.

Then, if you need to, expand the conversation to include categories of people they know,

such as friends, family, colleagues at work or their golf buddies.

Now, putting this all together, might sound a little like this:

"George, I'm glad I have a happy client in you and it's been great working with

you as well.

You're really an ideal client for us in many ways.

With that in mind, I have an important question to ask you.

I was hoping we could put our heads together for just a minute to see if we might identify

a few folks you think should at least be aware of what we do.

I have a couple of specific people to suggest if you're open to it."

"Okay, who do you have in mind?"

"Well, you know, the last time we met you mentioned that your sister, Jessica, owns

her own business.

I went on her website and was quite impressed actually.

She looks like she's been pretty successful.

How do you feel about seeing if we can craft a way for you to introduce me to her that

feels comfortable to all of us and will at least peak her interest in hearing from me?

Can we give it a try?"

Remember, you're only having this conversation with people who have already told you that

they see your value and/or like working with you.

Are they going to stop doing business with you?

Of course not.

In our 25 years of research and teaching this process, we've never had anyone lose a client.

And, our research shows that asking a client for introductions and not receiving any often

results in referrals and introductions when the client is ready, on their own timing.

How do you come up with specific people to suggest?

There are a number of ways.

Here are a few: From the minute you meet someone, pay attention to who they know.

In your efforts to get to know them and serve them, ask questions that illicit the names

of other people in their life, business and personal.

You can use LinkedIn to identify people they know.

LinkedIn can be a great source of possible referral prospects.

In our full video training program, we have an entire lesson on how to incorporate LinkedIn

into your referral marketing efforts.

You can look at directories on the internet relevant to their business.

For example, you can identify and suggest other business owners in the same target industry.

If you have a referral marketing mindset and think in terms of client engagement and client

leverage, as you work with your prospects and clients, you'll see plenty of opportunities

to identify possible prospects.

That my friends this is how to ask for referrals without pushing or begging.

The key in gaining confidence in this approach is practice, practice and more practice.

In teaching this method for over 25 years, I've observed that it takes most people

five to seven practice rounds to begin to really find their words and to feel confident.

I guess we better wrap this up so you can start practicing.

Sep 18: Denis Shapovalov clinches Davis Cup for Canada - Duration: 2:43.

The amazing run continued for 18-year old Denis Shapovalov, he is kicking off our Monday

Moments

After grabbing the attention of the tennis world at the Rogers Cup, and the US Open,

Shapovalov was in Edmonton for the Davis Cup as Canada took on India.

After a marathon, 5-set win over Yuki Bhambri that took 3 hours and 52 minutes, Shapo was

back on the court two days later with a chance to clinch the overall win for Canada.

He did it in straight sets win over Ramkumar Ramanathan.

And with that win Canada advances into the "World Group" which is the top tier in

international team tennis.

It was a big weekend in extreme sports as FISE was in Edmonton.

Let's begin with the final of the BMX Flat Pro.

Canadian Jean William Prevost was in a battle with his rival Matthias Dandois.

While Prevost sent the hometown crowd into a frenzy with some original tricks, he ended

up in second place.

However he did earn enough points to keep his top spot in the overall rankings, making

him the 2017 FISE World Series Champion.

In the Mountain Bike slope style, Canadian Brayden Barrett-Hay almost didn't make the

final, but this spectacular crash by Josh Hult opened the door.

And Barrett-Hay made the most of it with a 3rd place finish.

And in BMX Freestyle Canadian Mike Varga finished in 5th place, and on the women's side American

Hanna Roberts took the title.

To track and field, Damian Warner was back in action for the first time since catching

a stomach bug at the World Championships.

The decathlete was competing at the season-ending Decastar in France.

Looks like he is feeling better!

Warner captured gold with 8252 points.

Which put him in the runner-up position in the 2017 World Combined Events Challenge.

To F1 and the Singapore Grand Prix and a crazy start to the race!

"And it's lights out, away we go.

Verstappen gets an excellent start.

Sabastien Vettel needs to cover him off.

Kimi Raikkonen on the inside, and he's crashed with Verstappen.

He's hit Vettel as well.

Raikkonen is out before the first corner, and he's gone into the Red Bull there as

well."

Canadian Lance Stroll benefited from the short field to finish in eighth place.

WWE Hell In A Cell Plans LEAKED?! | WrestleTalk News Sept. 2017 - Duration: 4:07.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News - I'm Oli Davis,

WWE Worldwiiiiide Expect a lot of tired wrestlers for this week's

episodes of Raw and Smackdown.

The rosters have had dates in Australia, New Zealand, China and Japan since last week's

shows, with John Cena literally spending more time on planes than on the ground over the

last several days - being jetted into WWE's first ever live event in Shenzhen last night.

Cena revealed in an interview promoting that show that he'll be "in the air the entire

day Monday" while travelling back, meaning he'll most definitely miss No Mercy's

go-home episode of Raw.

Sadly, Cena's super-human abilities don't yet include the power of flight.

Over on the Smackdown side of things, the blue roster found themselves just a few hours

away from New Japan's Destruction in Hiroshima show - prompting one of the coolest wrestling

dinners in recent times, with Bad Luck Fale and the Guerrillas of Destiny sitting alongside

Natalya and Tamina, Luke Harper next to Big E, and Sami Zayn sharing a table with Aiden

English, Juice Robinson and…

Kevin Owens.

You're exposing the business, Japanese restaurant!

And because Bullet Club is for, for, for, for, for life, the faction reunited with their

old leader AJ Styles.

The underselling of feuds continued with Sami Zayn's flippant tweet about a wrestling

fan's dream match.

"I made pizza with some children in China today!

Oh, also, Zayn vs Styles vs Owens vs Nakamura 4-way match happened tonight (not pictured)."

We probably won't see that match on WWE television anytime soon, but at least Smackdown

has a different mouthwatering bout in the works…

Hell In A Cell Tag Team Plans Following two fantastic Tag Team Championship

matches on the Summerslam pre-show and last week's episode of Smackdown, WWE are reportedly

planning a hell of a stipulation for the New Day and The Usos - as Ryan Satin revealed

on Wrestling Sheet Radio: "From what I've heard, they're going

to get a big opportunity at Hell in a Cell to add to that legacy of theirs...right now

there's talk internally of doing a tag team Hell in a Cell match between The Usos and

The New Day."

There are currently two matches officially booked for the 8th October Hell in a Cell

pay-per-view - Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship and Kevin Owens

vs Shane McMahon inside the titular structure.

New Day member Kofi Kingston was helped to the back at a Smackdown house show last Thursday

with a possible leg injury, but he was thankfully cleared to wrestle from Saturday and worked

both the weekend's live events.

Bobby Heenan Passes Away The wrestling world lost a legend last night,

with arguably the greatest manager ever Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan passing away aged 73.

He famously managed Nick Bockwinkel, the Brain Busters, Harley Race and Andre the Giant - who

he accompanied to the ring for his iconic Wrestlemania III match.

Heenan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.

His commentary pairing with Gorilla Monsoon was also one of wrestling's best ever announcing

partnerships, leading Lance Storm to tweet: "#RIP Bobby Heenan quite probably the greatest

all around wrestling performer ever."

Jim Ross posted: "The news of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's passing today gutted me.

I loved our time together.

No one ever did it better than the Wease."

While Corey Graves pointed out Heenan's lasting impact on the business: "Without

him, there is no me."
