Waching daily Mar 1 2018

This channel just passed 10,000 subscribers on YouTube!

I started The Psych Show because I wanted to give psychology away to the world while

making it fun and easy to understand.

It means so much to me that my videos have found an audience that keeps on growing.

By watching, subscribing, commenting, and sharing you've helped me reach this point.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

When I hit 1,000 subscribers, I did this silly dance.

With this milestone, I want to do something more useful.

I've already made a video about how I write my scripts, but I haven't made a video about

how to grow as a YouTuber.

So, in celebration of reaching 10k, here are the 10 most important things I've learned

about growing on YouTube.

Number 1: Don't compare your 1st video to someone's 100th.

I hated my first video.

My 1 minute channel trailer took 4 hours to film.

Editing it took a day.

The end result didn't have that bright, snappy, and fun YouTube look everyone else

seemed to have.

My wife told me to stop comparing my 1st video to other people's 100th video.

This REALLY helped me.

I looked up some big YouTube channels, watched their oldest videos, and discovered their

early work didn't look anything like their recent stuff.

Seeing their growth, knowing that people get better, that's what helped me commit to

making videos.

This brings me to my number 2: Learn from the best.

The way people rapidly improve is through deliberate practice.

That's the concept Malcolm Gladwell misrepresented in Outliers.

It's not 20,000 hours of practice that makes you an expert, but the way you practice.

Setting clear goals, getting immediate feedback on your performance, and an opportunity to

quickly try again based on what you've learned.

I had clear goals - increase the number of people watching, subscribing, and sharing

my videos.

I learned how to interpret my YouTube analytics, experimented with different approaches to

videos, and replicated the stuff that led to more views, subs, and shares.

If you don't have an expert guiding you, one way to replicate expert feedback in deliberate

practice is by learning how to copy expert performance.

I studied my favorite YouTubers to understand how they wrote their scripts, edited their

videos, and published their content.

This is where I learned about the quick pace of YouTube, having a narrow scope to the topics

I cover in a video, and making videos easy to discover by writing titles with broad appeal.

Getting mentored at VidCon is one way I did get expert feedback.

Derek Muller helped me practice talking in a more conversational way while Mitchell and

Gregory taught me that my multitasking video should actually have been two separate videos

- one on multitasking and one on productivity.

Number 3: Make content people are searching for.

I learned early on that there's a disconnect between what I think people will be interested

in and what people actually want to watch.

Now when I get a new idea, I used YouTube's search suggestions to understand what people

are searching for related to this idea and how I could mold my idea to answer that will

help people.

This is how my most popular video took off.

It helps people who are studying for a test quickly remember the different parts of the

brain.

Once YouTube figured out that this video is good at answering this question, it started

recommending it alongside similar videos.

That's how it went from a low performing video to my best one.

Making content people are searching for is less of an issue if you already have an established

audience, but it's helpful when you're getting started.

Number 4: Make it visual.

Make sure there's a reason why your content exists as a video.

Show us something that emphasizes your main point, express emotions that can't be communicated

through text or audio, something that can only happen in video.

My favorite example of this is my video on why we love reaction videos.

You see me watching a STar Wars trailer for the first time and also me explaining the

psychology of my reactions.

This is only possible in video.

Number 5: make a variety of content.

I rotate between 4 types of videos: how to, current events, pop culture, and personal

stories.

Each of these work in very different ways.

How to videos get the most stable views over time because people are constantly searching

for things like how to overcome anxiety, become more attractive, and manage tics.

But these viewers rarely become subscribers because they move on once they've found

what they're looking for.

Videos on current events and pop culture take off quickly, get a lot of views because they're

trending topics, and then die out fast, unless that topic becomes popular again.

Look at the views on my Jeb Bush / ThisPsychMajor video - it was a firestorm and now it's

dead.

These types of videos help people discover my channel but people only subscribe if they

see something unique about my voice and see similar content on the channel.

My personal stories are the least watched videos on this channel because they usually

only appeal to my existing audience, BUT they're also the videos with the most engagement.

I get more comments, likes, and shares on these videos than anything else.

Personal stories help me maintain an important connection with my audience.

Number 6: Make it a routine

There're a lot of things you have to remember when making a video, like clearing your set

before you start recording so your medication doesn't end up in the background of your

shot.

Because there's so much to do, it's easy to make mistakes, and because it's video,

it's hard to fix mistakes in post-production.

So do what airplane pilots and surgeons do - make a checklist and follow it.

This is what my checklist looks like and I've got a link below where you can see all the

details.

I also use a basic outline to start each of my scripts.

Here's what that looks like.

Number 7: Make the comments section a place people want to be

YouTube comments can suck because none of us are built to have this type of human interaction.

Here's a video for more on that.

Because it's so easy to be inhumane in the comments, I have to work to make sure it's

a welcoming place for my audience.

That means having a very large list of blocked words, having zero tolerance for hate speech,

making sure I start each video with a comment that might generate an interesting conversation,

and carving out time every few days to respond to comments.

If you ignore your comment section, I guarantee it will de-evolve into a dark abyss of inhumanity.

Number 8: Collaborate with creators.

The fastest way I've grown is by working with other YouTubers.

Everyone I've worked with has taught me something new.

The Seeker team taught me how to write tighter scripts, Quincy Ledbetter showed me how a

simply story can have broad appeal, RACHEL STAR LIVE encouraged me to tackle topics I

had never considered before.

My biggest spike in subscribers have also come from working with channels who share

similar audiences, like Neuro Transmissions, BrainCraft, and Draw Curiosity.

Watching someone you trust say "yeah, if you like my stuff you're probably going

to like their stuff" is pretty powerful.

Speaking of which, please subscribe to Neuro Transmissions, BrainCraft, and Draw Curiosity.

If you like my stuff you'll probably like their stuff.

Number 9: Think Globally.

People watch YouTube all over the world.

Only 44% of my audience are in my home country of the United States.

The rest are all over the world with India, the Philippines, and Germany contributing

the most to my non-English speaking audience demographics.

This means I need to think about content that has international appeal and make my videos

accessible to diverse audiences.

That's why I include captions and avoid cultural expressions that are difficult to

translate.

Number 10: Value is better than gimmicks.

I used to worry a lot about production value - having cool props, perfect lighting, cool

special effects.

But none of that stuff has mattered much.

When I made this video about Han Solo and positive psychology, I bought a green screen,

had my friend and I dress up in character, and created a Star Wars inspired intro.

But no one seems to care about this video at all.

No one has ever commented on it and few people have seen it since it was released.

What's more important than production value is giving people something that's valuable.

Useful information, a new perspective on something they care about, a little piece of entertainment,

that kind of stuff.

This video was filmed on an iPhone, this video has bad audio, this one has poor video quality,

but that doesn't matter much because they give the viewer something worth their time

and attention.

If you consistently add value to someone's life, they'll keep coming back for more.

Focus on that, not the gimmicky stunts, just give away something valuable and things will

work themselves out.

Be sure to checkout the description below for a lot more information on the tips I've

shared here and while you're there, share your YouTube tips in the comments below.

The Really Weird World Of Smart Meters - Duration: 3:49.

The Really Weird World Of Smart Meters

By Catherine J. Frompovich

Probably when those who either question and/or oppose AMI Smart Meters thought the situation

couldnt get any more weird than it is regarding misinformation and lack of transparency about

the so-called consensus science that dominates technology, medicine, pharmacology

and vaccines, the makers of one high-profile Smart Meter, Landis+Gyr seemingly has outdone

itself.

The website Blacklisted News featured an article titled Smart Meter Company Landis+Gyr Now

Using Copyright To Try To Hide Public Records. What happened to transparency, especially

in high tech science? Is there information they dont want the public to know?

As some background information, back in 2016 L+G took some legal action, which was chronicled

in the Tech Dirt article Smart Grid Company Demands MuckRock Turn Over Info On

Anyone Who Might Have Seen Public Records Docs Involving It.

It would seem that L+G executives and legal department dont understand the meaning

of public records or they may be desperate to use legal harassment tactics to prevent

information getting out that consumers and others have every legal right to know about

products L+G manufactures and sells.

Enforcement tactics regrettably include consumers being forcedagainst their wills and by

duress techniques, e.g., no AMI SM, no utility service to your homeby state laws, public

utility commissions and utility companies to be placed on to homes, businesses and everywhere

in between. What is it that Im not getting when AMI SMs are not mandated in the 2005

Energy Act [Public Law 109-58, The Energy Policy Act of 2005 1252 Smart Metering],

as that would be unconstitutional?

Furthermore, its a known principle in U.S. law that if a state law allows something,

but federal law does not allow/permit it, then its illegal! What happened at state

levels mandating AMI SMs? Clue: Check out the UNs Agenda 21 and 2030 and why AMI

SMs are an integral part of the global surveillance state!

There are numerous informational links embedded within the Tech Dirt article I encourage readers,

especially those who have actions opposing AMI Smart Meters, to research as you may find

some clues and nuggets of information that could help you define the issues you are opposing.

As an example, a Tech Dirt link to Stop Smart Meters! features an Interview with EFF:

How Smart Meters Violate our Right to Privacy wherein the Electronic Frontier Foundation

discusses free speech, privacy, innovation, and consumer rights in a digital age.

Then theres MuckRock, the online platform that files, tracks and share public records

requests, a most readily accessible and valuable resource for any legal action being

researched which, according to Tech Dirt, is

the platform that makes it easy for journalists and others to file FOIA requests.

The Most Unsettling Short Films Ever - Duration: 5:29.

Horror is a genre that requires exact timing and expert pacing in order to deliver the

maximum amount of scares.

While every horror fan has a well-curated list of their favorite horror movies, there

are lots of incredible horror shorts you can watch for free online.

Short, sweet, and terrifying, here are some of the best spooky short films.

The Ten Steps

Children left alone by their parents is common in horror, but it's effective for a reason

— parents usually represent safety.

The Ten Steps is a perfect example of a short, atmospheric horror film with a grim punchline.

After the power goes out while Katie is babysitting her younger brother, her father talks her

through it over the phone — but by the end she ends up in a very different place than

she imagined.

Downstairs

One of the best horror shorts of the last few years, Downstairs follows a security guard

investigating mysterious sounds in the basement.

The film sticks to the basics of horror movie rules: an early warning of things to come,

some light character work to establish who's going to meet the monsters, and then just

minute after minute of terror.

"Alright, that's f---ed up."

Symmetropia

There can something a little unsettling about perfect symmetry.

Perhaps it's because things tend to be naturally chaotic and we expect disorder, but for whatever

the reason, Symmetropia taps into something very creepy.

For anyone who's ever been creeped out by a Wes Anderson movie, Symmetropia leads you

to some very unusual places, and shows that the strange fear of perfectly balanced things

might not be so irrational after all.

"Yo, banana boy!"

The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow

One of the most inventive horror shorts in recent memory, The Facts in the Case of Mister

Hollow continually plays on your expectations and changes of perspective.

The film shows an old photograph depicting what seems at first like a happy family vacation.

As the camera dances around the photo, details leap out at the viewer, and the final shot

paints a very different picture than the opening scene.

3 Versos

A strong production design can often carry horror movies with weaker scripts, but 3 Versos

doesn't need the help.

The script is surprisingly dense, layering a deeper mythology and some hidden surprises

into a naturalistic dialogue.

3 Versos is clearly indebted to classic black and white horror films of the early 20th century,

but with a multitude of visual influences that distort the viewer's perspective about

when the short takes place — adding to the discomfort of watching it.

Alexia

Argentinian film Alexia acknowledges what we've always known — that Facebook is evil

and trying to kill us.

Well, not quite.

The gradual build-up of guilt and subtle implications of abuse in a relationship help take this

short to the next level, while the set design and escalating discomfort keep it quite scary.

Don't Move

Before the opening title, Don't Move has already gotten all of its backstory out of the way,

as six friends accidentally summon a demon that's going to kill five of them, and let

one live.

The real treat of the short is the incredible creature design and special effects.

Don't Move was supposedly created on a low budget, but you'll be hard pressed to notice

as you watch it.

The Birch

It's not hard to see the similarities between Don't Move and The Birch, as they share filmmakers.

Both shorts have an incredible creature design and a stripped down story.

The Birch follows a bullied young boy given a mysterious book and a promise from his grandmother

that someone will protect him.

Sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the tree monsters, but let's just say, when

the tree monsters look this good, that's not a bad thing.

This House Has People In It

A series of unexplained edits from home security camera footage is the setup of the short film

This House Has People In It — which ends up being a surrealist nightmare.

Part of Adult Swim's "Infomercials" segments which air at 4 a.m., this short taps into

a deeply uncomfortable sense of voyeurism, like watching a reality show from a horrific

alternate reality where every day is terrible.

Lights Out

With a very simple concept and execution, Lights Out is about a woman who sees a frightening

figure that appears whenever the lights turn off.

Like comedy, horror can depend on a punchline that a viewer wasn't expecting, and this short

is the perfect example.

The Smiling Man

Most horror movies hide the monster from view for as long as possible to keep the viewer

in suspense, but The Smiling Man gives you an upsettingly long, direct look at the monster.

The short focuses on a little girl who follows a trail of balloons into her kitchen where

a smiling man starts to play with her.

Which is obviously very very bad news.

Skypemare

In Skypemare, a routine Skype call between friends goes horribly wrong when it looks

like someone is moving in the room behind one of them.

Following in the storied tradition of technology being a delivery system for horror, the film's

real villain is the short's most unexpected twist.

On My Way

Hollywood loves the one-take tracking shot, but we've never seen a tracking shot for a

horror short quite like the one in On My Way.

A man drives through town on his way to a party, while something strange has happened

to the residents of the town.

If nothing else, hopefully watching the short will encourage you to actually arrive at parties

when you say you will.

KARL MARX/ USE-VALUE VS EXCHANGE- VALUE - Duration: 6:35.

Hey guys, It`s Niki and in this video i`mm be explaining what is the difference between

use- value and a exchange- value according to Karl Marx. If you don`t or you`re not sure,

stay to find out. in the previous video I talked about how the

capitalist system works and I mentioned the word commodity which in our case was the Ferrari.

According to Marx the commodity has two forms use- value and an exchange value. The use-value

is all about the quality side of the commodity. Imagine you`d like to have a new phone but

you can`t buy it by yourself so you're trying to convince your parents to buy it for you.

Of course you don`t want just a regular phone you want the newest iphone. So you start explain

to them about all the amazing functions this new phone has, at the moment you think you

have convinced them, your parents start pulling out of a black box your old phone, your tablet,

kindle, mp3 player and say: here you can use these. Ummm, not exactly what you had in mind

right, because you want the new iphone, not any of this junk: that`s what the use-value

is/you want exactly that phone exactly that commodity. The use- value fulfills your needs

and desires: like you are thirsty- here have a cola, you`re cold- here`s a coat and so

on. The exchange- value of a commodity is a little

bit more complicated because that`s the socially necessary time of labour (or work) needed

for production. Don`t panic just yet, it`s not so hard to grasp. Let`s get back to the

scene with the phone, you don`t have the money but you still decide to go to the store and

ask nicely for it, I'm pretty sure they would not give it to you. that`s because you

need to give them something for it but what? You remember the answer of your parents but

there is nothing similar between the new phone and all the junk from the black box…. How

they can compare them? What is the similarity, the one thing they have common that is that

they are all result of work different kind but still work. now you have the brilliant

idea to work at the store and exchange your work for the phone. But how many hours of

mopping the floor make a cell phone…? Hmmm, let's get back to Marx. The question is:

How many, so it`s about quantity. In reality there`s nothing similar between you working

in the store and the phone itself but we know there have to be something or the capitalism

itself would not exist and moreover no kind of exchange would exist. Maybe we can make

equal your working hours with the hours spent to build the phone. But since it`s different

kind of work we need something like abstract labour (work) to measure them. For example:

it takes fairly 24 hours to make a phone, do you remember what we said about exchange-

value it`s the socially necessary time of labour (or work) needed for production, what

that means in our case it that basically at this time and age it takes in average 24 hour

to produce an Iphone (footnote: that`s the average for 2012 ( the most recent I could

find). one person can do it for 26 another for 22 but the average between all people

working that job is 24 hours. What this also means is that it doesn`t matter

if you can build it faster or slower because you can build more or less but the price for

one would be the same unless the average itself change and become less.

That can happen for example with the invention of a new machine which can make the phone

for 20 hours. That`s abstract labour because it`s about the average of all peple doing

that kind of job. The abstract labour is the unit of measure of an exchange value.

Now all you need to do is find how many hours mopping the store`s floor (the average of

all ppl cleaning floors) equals the 24 hours needed to make an Iphone.

Something fun about this exchange- value theory is that the air is not considered a commodity

because it`s free and it does not require work (production) so it doesn`t have a value

for Marx but now we have Diving cylinder. Yes, this is modificated version but still.

When You add human labor to anything and you give it a value, until them it`s wortless.

Ok, enough randomness let`s go back to the phone so you and Marx got it all figured out

you go to the store and start mopping but one big obstacle they have a machine doing

that and you are basically useless. That` s one of the last thing I'll talk about

it`s social use- value basically there is a value only if someone needs or desires the

result (product) of your work. I'm sorry, you don`t get the iphone but at least you

have the black box. Ok, that`s all for this video in the upcoming

video i`ll talk more about exchange, money and the metamorphosis of sale and purchase

so if you`re interested click on to the nerdy bird to subscribe and if you liked this video

thumbs up and leave me a comment to tell me what you think. You can also get the audio

of this video and listen to it next time you`re heading to your lectures here or check some

How To Know If You're An Empath - 10 Strange Behaviors of an Authentic Empath - Duration: 3:21.

How To Know If You're An Empath - 10 Strange Behaviors of an Authentic Empath

People are unique, and one of the most unique character is having the ability of being empathy.

However, we will talk en empath which is basically a more extreme version of ordinary empath.

Are you one of them?

If you are not sure, these 10 behaviors should give you some insight.

Before jumping to the video, dont forget to give a like to this video and subscribe to

our channel.

1.

Absorbing energy You somehow takes someone's energy every

time you meet them.

You unconsciously feel, know, and understand what other people feel.

You also feel either excited or depressed when the said people feel something accordingly.

2.

High intuition It works like magic.

You know what people feel, you know what people tell, and you can predict what they are going

to do.

Of course, at some point, you feel subtlety.

However, when you sharpen your skill, it gets more accurate and strong.

3.

People are draining You feel like being introvert.

People drain your mental energy.

The reason is because you feel other's emotions and feelings which tend to be complicated

as their stories are different.

4.

Crowds are even more draining A huge wave of emotions are coming to you

as you glance through people and their surroundings.

Since empaths do not only feel about human, it is extremely exhausting to see people with

their, particularly sad, expression on public space.

5.

Extremely sensitive People will frown their eyes when you are

being sensitive since it is usually not ordinary.

Moreover, you do not like things that screw your emotion such as violence, divorce, poverty,

and other social problems.

6.

You may change your living location Your life depends highly on where you live.

Typically you want to live in a peaceful place.

Moreover, you think that charging energy is far easier at countryside instead of big cities.

7.

Attracting broken people Somehow, people coming to you are those who

have problems in their live.

Romance is the most discussed topic, and it is usually heartbreaking.

However, it is not worse than violence.

8.

Seeing lies You can detect liars and lies easily.

Unfortunately, you cannot just prove it directly unless you also have the ability to hook your

conversation partner.

9.

Emotional healing More and more people are coming to you for

advice.

The more you help them, the more attuned your skill will be.

10.

Ignoring self-problem Though you like to advice and help others,

you often forget to help yourself.

However, you can cure yourself after recharging energy.

All in all, that's the How To Know If You're An Empath - 10 Strange Behaviors of an Authentic

Empath.

I'M BACK IN NEW YORK, BABY.

[ CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ]

[ CHUCKLES ] I MISS THIS PLACE.

THIS IS AWESOME.

I GOT TO BE HONEST -- THE FIRST --

I GOT BACK ON THURSDAY, RIGHT?

I GOT BACK ON THURSDAY, AND THE FIRST THING I DID --

I GOT ON THE SUBWAY, RIGHT?

AND I GOT ON THE SUBWAY,

AND THIS LITTLE PERSON CAME ON THE TRAIN.

ARE THERE ANY LITTLE PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE?

GOOD. I'M GONNA SAY "MIDGET."

[ LAUGHTER ]

SO, THIS MIDGET -- YOU'LL SEE WHY --

THIS MIDGET CAME ON THE TRAIN,

AND HE PUSHED MY LEG AND HE HIT ME LIKE THAT.

AND I WAS LIKE -- HE WAS A RUDE, RUDE MIDGET.

AND, LIKE, PUSHED ME, AND, LIKE, I LOOKED DOWN AT HIM.

I WAS LIKE -- YOU KNOW, I'M NOT CONFRONTATIONAL,

BUT I WAS LIKE, "EXCUSE YOU."

AND HE LOOKED UP AT ME.

HE'S LIKE, "YOU GOT A PROBLEM?"

NOW, I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING 'CAUSE, LIKE, YOU KNOW,

YOU NOT GONNA LOOK LIKE THE HERO FIGHTING A MIDGET.

PEOPLE AREN'T -- "OH, I'M GLAD YOU KICKED THAT MIDGET'S ASS.

YOU TOOK THAT MIDGET DOWN A PEG. I'M GLAD YOU DID THAT."

NOBODY'S GONNA SAY THAT.

SO, LIKE, I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING, BUT THE WHOLE TIME IN MY HEAD,

THE WHOLE TIME, I'M THINKING LIKE,

"HOW DO I GET THIS MIDGET TO CALL ME A [BLEEP]

SO I CAN CALL HIM A MIDGET?"

YOU KNOW?

'CAUSE WHEN YOU GET CALLED THE "N" WORD AS A BLACK PERSON,

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.

I HEAR THE MUSIC.

WHEN I HEAR THE "N" WORD, I'M LIKE, "DO-DO-DO," YOU KNOW,

LIKE, I GET RIGHT INTO IT.

I GET REALLY INTO IT, YOU KNOW?

AND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.

LIKE, YOU CAN BE IN A FANCY RESTAURANT

AND JUST START THROWING POOP AT THE WALLS.

AND PEOPLE BE LIKE, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"SOMEBODY CALLED ME THE 'N' WORD."

"OH, YES, OBAMA, OBAMA, YES."

I JUST STARTED KIND OF DOING THIS STAND-UP THING, RIGHT?

SO, LIKE, YOU KNOW,

I USED TO WRITE FOR THIS SHOW CALLED "30 ROCK."

[ CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ]

THAT'S WHAT'S UP, RIGHT?

AND I LOVE WRITING, BUT WHEN I STARTED DOING STAND-UP,

I WAS LIKE, "I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT I'M DOING.

I'M GONNA TALK TO TRACY ABOUT IT."

I WAS GONNA ASK TRACY WHAT --

"DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR ME, 'CAUSE I'M JUST STARTING.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS?"

AND HE WAS LIKE [ As Tracy Morgan ] "YEAH, MAN,

TALK ABOUT PENISES, MAN."

[ LAUGHTER ]

[ Normal voice ] I WAS LIKE, "WHAT?"

HE WAS LIKE [ As Tracy Morgan ] "YEAH, MAN, TALK ABOUT PENISES.

"DUDES LOVE THAT [BLEEP] MAN.

"TALK ABOUT PENISES.

"I'LL TELL YOU A STORY, MAN.

"ONE TIME I HAD BROKEN INTO THIS ASIAN GIRL'S DORM ROOM

AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY."

[ LAUGHTER ]

"AND I FELL ASLEEP.

"AND THEY WOKE ME UP AND THEY SAID,

"'TRACY, YOU SUPPOSED TO BE ON IN FIVE MINUTES.'

"AND I DIDN'T HAVE NO MATERIAL.

"SO I JUST SAID [BLEEP] FOR 45 MINUTES.

"I TALKED ABOUT PENISES FOR 45 MINUTES.

DO THAT. DO THAT, MAN."

[ Normal voice ] SO I DID THAT.

YOU KNOW, I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING.

I WAS LIKE, "OKAY, IT'S TRACY MORGAN.

I'M GONNA LISTEN TO HIM." SO I DID THAT.

I TALKED ABOUT PENISES, AND PEOPLE LOVED IT.

IT WAS GOOD. IT WENT WELL.

AND THEN, AFTERWARDS, A DUDE WAS LIKE,

"HEY, CHRIS WANTS TO TALK TO YOU."

I WAS LIKE, "WHO?"

"CHRIS ROCK WANTS TO TALK TO YOU."

I WAS LIKE, "WHAT?! CHRIS ROCK?!"

I LOVE CHRIS ROCK. CHRIS ROCK'S MY IDOL, RIGHT?

SO I'M LIKE, "YEAH." I GO UP TO HIM.

I'M LIKE, "OH, YEAH." I'M EXCITED.

"YO, WHAT'D YOU THINK?"

HE WAS LIKE, [ As Chris Rock ] "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

[ LAUGHTER, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ]

[ Normal voice ] I WAS LIKE, "I-I DON'T KNOW."

[ LAUGHTER ]

[ Normal voice ] AND HE RIPPED INTO ME, MAN.

HE RIPPED INTO ME, AND THAT BROKE MY HEART,

'CAUSE I LOVE CHRIS ROCK.

I USED TO DO HIS BITS ALL THE TIME.

HE HAS A FAMOUS BIT CALLED,

YOU KNOW, "'N' WORD VERSUS BLACK PEOPLE."

AND I LOVE THAT BIT,

BUT I WASN'T ALLOWED TO SAY THE "N" WORD IN THE HOUSE.

MY PARENTS WOULDN'T LET ME SAY THE "N" WORD,

SO I JUST DID "BLACK PEOPLE VERSUS VAMPIRES" INSTEAD.

I WAS UP THERE, YOU KNOW, TELLING JOKES.

I WAS LIKE, [ As Chris Rock ] "THERE'S TWO CATS.

"TWO CATS GOIN' ON.

"THERE'S BLACK PEOPLE AND VAMPIRES.

"YOU WANT TO KNOW THE WORST THING ABOUT VAMPIRES?

"THE WORST THING ABOUT VAMPIRES --

"VAMPIRES CAN'T BE IN THE SUN, BOY.

YOU CAN'T HAVE NO VAMPIRE FRIEND AND THEN TAKE HIM TO THE BEACH."

YOU KNOW, YEAH, I JUST -- I DIDN'T SAY THE "N" WORD.

I WASN'T ALLOWED.

I DIDN'T START SAYING IT UNTIL LIKE 11th GRADE, RIGHT?

THAT'S WHEN I DECIDED TO SAY THE "N" WORD,

AND BY THEN, YOU MISS YOUR "N" WORD MOTOR SKILLS.

YOU CAN'T SAY IT RIGHT.

LIKE, I WOULD WALK DOWN THE HALL

AND PEOPLE WERE LIKE, "HEY, WHAT'S UP, MAN?"

I'M LIKE, "HEY, WHAT'S UP [BLEEP]"

AND THEY BE LIKE, "AAH, AAH. I KNOW YOU'RE BLACK, BUT, MNH."

OH, IT'S THAT HARD 'R', MAN.

YOU KNOW?

SOME PEOPLE CAN'T SAY THE "N" WORD.

SOME BLACK PEOPLE CANNOT SAY IT. IT'S TRUE.

CAN YOU IMAGINE SEAL SAYING THE "N" WORD?

[ LAUGHTER ]

NO, RIGHT?

YOU CAN'T HAVE SEAL AT THE GRAMMYS TALKING ABOUT...

NO.

YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT.

YOU CAN'T HAVE, LIKE, OBAMA UP THERE JUST TALKING

AND JUST, LIKE, GIVING A PRESS CONFERENCE

OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT

AND JUST HAVE IT TURN INTO DEF COMEDY JAM OR SOMETHING.

HE'S LIKE, [ As Barack Obama ] "AS WE STAND HERE TODAY..."

[ LAUGHTER ]

"...THERE ARE STILL SOME AMERICANS

WHO DON'T BELIEVE I HAVE THEIR BEST INTEREST AT HEART."

[ LAUGHTER ]

"AND I'D LIKE TO PUT THOSE FEARS TO REST TODAY.

I'D LIKE TO TALK ABOUT HOW [BLEEP] BE TRIPPIN'."
