Waching daily Mar 1 2018

nice

nice rocks

icy down there

guess one or 2 of those shots should be fine

in case somebody is interessted: got 2 instagram accounts now...

one for photos named "raddephotos" the other one's for mtb content "radde_mtb"

sometimes you have to promote yourself...

lovely

finally on tour again...

curious how the 5session handles wind noise I doubt it will be that good..

going to be freezing cold tonight

have to tidy up a little bit.

excalibur!

meh

best thing about temperatures below zero is: canned beer tastes best almost frozen

little fireplace

even got a chair... going to cover it with my sleeping mat - should be nice

meh

well..

it's so warm in the sun

got 1.2 technical issues..

sd card was full so I switched to my 4 session

and the reverb behaves strangely... guess it's broken

not riding that much today cause I'm exploring the region

tree got peeled from the rock

found a really old trail... lets see

starts with a natural rock drop into an offcamber turn

there we go.. yey!

I wonder if the next bit is rideable.. the trees are so tight..

won't be able to fit through.. lets see how often I have to set down a foot

guess 3 times.. PAR3.. sounds good

uh oh

got it!

coming up.. the hardest one

not good when there are trees on both sides

would fit through if they were a bit offset

no chance but still standing on the bike

now offset... getting even tighter

that was the worst section!

yey cool!

taking the rocks

where's the trail? there!... no...

??

there it is..

got a bit confusing at the end

so lucky today! found another difficult trail with really tight turns

that's not rideable for me

starting here.. into the tight turns

steep

braking

that's.. now I can't see where to go..

looked rideable on the uphill

doable! one more try!

got it

uhm next switchback

oh forgot about that.. double bunnyhop!

that's a really cool bunnyhop combo!

one double and one where you have to duck down

a lot of cool technical stuff today

there it is again!

hair ice!

only appears when the temperatures are slightly below zero..

there's some fungus in that wood that drops out water..

producing that hair ice...

really thin

won't fit through

next: another fun switchback trail with a lot of trees

know this trail already but I don't know how many trees are lying around after the storm.. there's the first one

last time there were a few trees lying around. but that was over a year ago..

this one's no problem

what's with the wood?

a rock

not perfect

cool

back home now..

hope the icisles won't fall when I'm riding underway... but got a helmet

wrong way

forgot again

Drawing Xamarin Apps to Life with Ink to Code | The Xamarin Show - Duration: 16:15.

>> Welcome back everyone to the Xamarin Show.

I'm your host, James Montemagno.

And today, I am crazy excited because George from

the Microsoft Garage Team is here to show

this ridiculously amazing app that interns has built.

>> Yes, that's 100 percent true.

>> Yes, what is this thing called?

It's called what?

>> Ink to Code in Microsoft Garage Project.

>> Okay. Well, first off,

what do you do and what is

the Microsoft Garage because we've had

no one ever from the Garage on here.

>> Wow. Okay. I got to be the first.

>> Yeah.

>> So, the Microsoft Garage is a place,

a space, a place and a group of people

who we tried to encourage new ways of doing things,

and new ways of thinking, and new ways of

experimenting for the benefit of our customers.

>> Oh, cool.

>> So, we do lots of activities for Microsoft.

We run Hackathons.

We have Makerspaces and we also have

this intern program that's based in both Cambridge,

Massachusetts and Vancouver, British Columbia.

>> Oh, cool.

>> And we take super

talented, amazing university students,

and they come in and they help us

prototype and build experiments,

and really do amazing stuff liking Ink to Code.

>> That's awesome. So, you get to like

tinker and try out and listen

to all of your developers

and build awesome ridiculous stuff.

>> Exactly.

>> That's super cool.

>> It's super fun.

>> I've walked through some of them.

I think like in one of our Buildings 27,

there's like robots and there's all sorts of crazy stuff.

>> The punching robots?

>> Yeah.

>> You can go in there.

I wouldn't recommend sparing

with a robot. That's probably not a good idea.

>> So, what do you do at the Garage,

and how did this project come about?

>> So, I mostly work with the teams that

come up with different ideas

we use to build new products.

>> Okay.

>> So, I both helped

shepherd the intern teams

as they come and like in getting started,

how did we get them started, how do we have

the idea and bring it to fruition.

>> Okay, got it.

So, I think Ink to Code,

I think we can talk about

it but I feel like we should just show it

because it kind of demos

in a way, and then talk about it.

How do you feel about that?

>> That's that's probably a better way to do it.

>> All right.

>> I tried talking about it before.

I usually missed the point.

>> So, set it up. Like, what are we looking at right now?

>> So, this is what

you see when you launch Ink to Code.

>> The UWP App?

>> It's a UWP App, available

right now in the Microsoft Store.

You can go get it for free. And when you launch the [inaudible]

you are greeted with a blank canvas.

>> Okay.

>> And I have my surface pen in

my hand I don't know if you

can you can see what I'm doing here?

>> There should be a little pip right there. Perfect.

>> Oh, look at that. So, I'm going to

pretend that I'm going to sketch out my next great app.

>> Okay.

>> And I think the one that we've been kind

of playing around with this initial

experiment is a Tip Calculator.

It's the next big thing on the App Store.

I don't know if anyone has noticed that.

>> I've never seen any or installed any.

>> No, they definitely,

none has ever existed before.

>> So, you're just drawing stuff.

>> So, I'm just going to start drawing. I'm going to draw

a phone and you can

see immediately what happened here and I'm just

going to kind of zoom out so you can see.

But it snapped in and started

thinking that I am drawing a phone app,

and you can see it just snapped into that right size.

It just recognizes what I drew.

So, I'm going to go in here and I'm going to draw

the title of my app which is Tip Calculator.

>> So, the idea here is that

we literally are just coming

in and have this idea for an app,

and you're just going to draw it.

>> I'm just going to start sketching.

>> And I've done this on like pieces of paper,

in journals, books like this,

but this is real.

>> We've been calling this a smarter napkin.

>> Smarter napkin.

>> So, many great app ideas have actually started from

that so we figured it was a cheeky way to think about it.

So, my app's going to have a logo.

>> Okay.

>> You're going to have a good logo. So, I'm going to

draw a box with a with a cross through it.

You see, I got snap in and recognizes an image.

>> Cool.

>> This shorthand that I'm using here is,

actually, we looked at designers.

We looked at user-interface designers

and we ask them to show us their notebooks.

And one of the things that our

intern teams that actually went out to do,

this they actually did a lot of user research to

figure out the right way to have these gestures work.

>> Okay, cool.

>> So, if you're not familiar with

that, it's totally fine.

First time you're actually launching

to code when you first install it.

You actually see this very handy guide over here.

It will show you the different gestures

that we support right now and also how to use

some of the advanced features of the app.

>> Oh, nice.

>> So, let me keep drawing here.

My app is going to calculate tips.

We're going to be pretty

generous so we're going to start with

a 15 percent tip,

an 18 percent tip,

and a 20 percent tip.

Now, you might start thinking

that I've now drawn these slightly out of line.

You're like, this is not super straight.

>> But size is different [inaudible] yeah.

>> Yeah, they're kind of all over the place right now.

So, we're going to bring in

another tool and since we're using Windows Ink,

we can make use of the "Smart Toolbar."

So, I'm going to switch pens here

and we have two pens over here.

We have the Regular Pen and we have the Constraint Pen.

>> Okay.

>> So, I'm going to pick up this Constraint Pen

and I'm going to draw a red line, a straight red line.

And you'll see that it

actually snapped in, made this dotted red line.

Again, this is inspired from designers.

We took designer shorthand of red lines.

>> Yeah.

>> It's actually where this one came from.

>> This reminds me very much of getting like,

this is a dieline of a cut-out,

or this is exactly what we need to follow, right?

>> Exactly.

>> Yeah.

>> And if you really want to get precise,

you can just tap on the grid and you can get

this visually handy grid up here.

>> That's cool.

>> I'm going to bring all my elements into alignment.

I'm just going to tap and hit "Snap."

And this one didn't quite go where I

wanted to go so I'm just going to move it.

So, it snaps the bottom.

>> Okay, perfect.

>> This is what we really want. There we go.

>> Nice.

>> And now, see there are much more

aligned and some of my OCD is gone so we can keep going.

>> Okay.

>> So, we can have a text field in here for the amount.

And if it doesn't

recognize what your handwriting is doing, that's fine.

You can just write on top.

>> Nice.

>> And it will re-recognize and just do that.

Really useful for people like me

who've been used to writing

in chicken scratch for so long.

>> Yeah, me, too.

>> But it's super useful for that.

So, you can move this around.

We're just going to resize this just a little

bit and I'm just going to keep going here,

just in the interest of time so we don't

spend all day and that's going to have

one little button down here.

And we're going to have that say, "Calculate."

Oops, but one day I'll be able to write.

>> Nice.

>> There we go.

>> So, you drew that box,

drew a circle and then you're like,

this is what the button should also say?

>> Yeah.

>> And we can see that the amount is very

different than the button

because it has lines through it.

>> Exactly.

>> It's like there's a graphical indication.

>> Yes. Some sort of indication to help you

understand that they're slightly different.

The really cool part though, the sketching part

is incredible and we worked really hard on it.

>> I can only imagine because in my mind,

I know one developer,

Frank, we've had him before.

He's done a lot of this like,

this is what a circle and it

snaps it and this is a square.

That's not easy to do.

So, I think there's a lot of love and

passion for just that part of it alone, right?

>> Yeah, we're actually making

really heavy use of the Windows Smarting Platform.

A lot of the Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning,

it's actually powered from Windows.

>> Oh, cool.

>> So, we're actually leveraging a lot of that

to make this magic happen.

The super cool part, though, this is my favorite,

is we call it Ink to Code, not just Ink.

>> CV Inking.

>> Right. The inking is here. You can see that.

So, I'm going to clip my pen back in,

and I'm just going to pull

my service backup into Laptop Mode.

>> Okay, cool.

>> And, I'm going to use my mouse and go up

here to export and you'll see right now,

we can export to Android XML and UAP XAML.

>> Oh, very cool.

>> So, the idea

that we had is that we really want to make

it just super fast

before you get started with your next app.

We see so many developers who,

they start building your app and they kind

of jump into the tool and start getting

UI elements arranged on

the screen correctly and it's kind of hard to

take that napkin sketch that

you drew earlier and bringing it into the apps.

We are trying to jump start that process a little bit.

>> Yeah, and while they have these designers,

you're literally then dragging and

dropping and figuring out

the constrained systems in there.

They're different between Android and Windows 10.

>> Exactly.

>> I fell in love with Android XML

because it's very much like XAML.

But it was different and there's a lot of its thing.

>> Yeah. it's a little bit different.

>> A little bit different, yeah.

>> But it's pretty cool

so you can just export it right there.

>> So, you can just export and I'll just do

both because we can, and why not?

So if you're using something like Xamarin,

which would be super useful here,

you can use both the Android XML and the

UWP XAML to make yourself a Xamarin app.

>> Yeah.

>> And you can start going right here.

>> Yeah.

>> So I'm going to show you.

Let me pick up my mouse over here.

It's going to jump in and I'm going to

pull open the UWP one.

I'm going to open that with Visual Studio Code.

You can see that the XAML code that it

generates has everything we need to actually get going.

Like, this will render

and display on the screen perfectly.

And rather than just

talk about it, I'm just going to do it.

So I'm going to pop over to my little studio over

here and I have a UWP app ready to go.

If you look at our blog post you can see examples of

how to make the Android app in Xamarin.

>> Yeah.

>> get going too so,

I'm going to try and show your different ones.

>> Yeah put that link into the blog post. Yeah.

>> Perfect. Yeah you'll

you'll see it's super, super easy to get started.

Make sure I actually copy that.

>> The whole pages just like-

>> Whole page is drag and drop.

I also could have just drag and dropped that.

>> And then it actually has the real elements, right?

Because obviously that text box,

or whatever, it's not going to show

us the squiggly version, right?

It's gonna show us

the real version and that's the goal, right?

>> Yeah, exactly. And you can see I'm just going in and

just swapping names and

the only thing you need to look for,

the to-dos that we actually

leave you which actually make it a little bit easy.

You see we put a little to-do in there so

you can you can get going.

I'm just going to replace this with

the store logo that Windows generates for you just for

>> Makes sense.

>> proof of concept. You can

replace this with anything you'd like.

And we can go ahead and run this and you'll see that

it gives us a really big jump start on

actually getting our prototype ready.

So you could start adding the rest of your code,

adding the app logic

and you have a prototype ready to go.

Ready to start testing out your next idea.

>> Yeah. I could see a designer just coming in that has

this idea for this next page and here it is, right?

Because anyone can do this.

I feel like, as a developer,

I think sometimes it's hard for me to use design tools.

But I can draw something, right?

>> Exactly! And it's kind of ready to go.

And you can see I have lots of functionality.

I mean these are full function UWP elements

and just lined up and ready to go on the screen.

Need a little bit of work

to kind of make this look presentable,

but it's much less time for me to get started with

my app than if I had to

do everything from scratch from day one.

>> Very cool. This is

nice because you just use any of your images.

And then you can- what's cool

here is that you can actually then,

yeah, see the constraint system,

you can modify stuff, so if you're like.

>> Exactly.

>> That was a phone but

now this is what it's going to look like on desktop,

right, so you can start modifying that a little bit too.

>> Right. And if you start seeing

something that you're like wow,

we're being very precise with

the height and the width of what you're getting at.

We really do our best job to

replicate where you were with the pen.

>> Yeah.

>> You can go in and you can

start modifying that and saying like,

hey like this is actually going to be

slightly more pixels or

less pixels off to the left or right.

>> But what what does the Android XML look like.

I'm just curious out of the box here.

>>Yeah, yeah.

>> Because that's what I'm all about, the UWP.

It's also super cool that yeah,

I am a cross-platform developer,

but I want the platform-specific stuff

and that's what I want. Not all of this.

>> Right. And you can see we do the same thing.

In Android one of the things that we do to make

the layout a little bit easier and to make

sure it works on different screen sizes,

we use the constraint layout.

>> Oh, yeah.

>> And so when you're building this and you're

bringing this into your Android project in Xamarin,

all you have to do is pull in the

Xamarin constraint layout package

from NuGet and you're just ready to go.

>> Yeah if anyone is not familiar,

that's kind of like the new,

new also too because I'm really used

to linear layouts and

kind of placing things and wrapping things.

But, like iOS, it has

a constraint system and kind of like grids,

that are almost like constraint systems,

Android has has done that

as an optional way of doing it too, which is cool.

But, yeah these look familiar.

I have text views,

and the constraint layout,

and all of my different controls that I

would want. Wow, that's pretty cool.

>> Yeah, and these come through, and these will render

on almost any size

display that we have running on Android.

So it makes it super convenient,

really easy get started,

and really easy to make sure that,

no matter what kind of device you're going to deploy to,

that it will look good.

>> Yeah. So who built this and how do I get it?

Like, that's always my question.

Like, now everyone just

saw it and they're like, I want to go do that.

>> Everyone's going to get it. You can go get it now.

>> Yeah.

>> It's free!

>> Yeah. That's awesome, by the way.

Yeah. So where can people

find out about this and where can they grab it from?

>> So we always recommend that people come

and visit us at microsoft.com/garage.

We have all the information

about the app, where to get it,

the link to the store,

and we have to really extra big things on here.

We'd love for you to kind of read about and

see our intern team to actually put this together.

They're super talented

>> Oh, nice.

>> and this would not be possible without them.

So make sure you go there and give them credit.

>> That's really cool.

>> The other big thing that we

really want to encourage we will do is provide feedback.

We are hosting a user voice site.

So if you have a specific feature requests, or bugs,

or ideas that you want to suggest,

we're certainly willing to hear that.

We're launching this as a Microsoft Garage project

in the spirit of trying to learn.

>> Yeah.

>> And I think what the whole team and myself,

we're trying to figure out how can we make

this a better tool to help

you jump start their next project.

>> That makes sense, yeah.

>> We're totally open to suggestions and ideas.

>> Yeah, so I'd imagine probably the

first feedback you probably get is like,

oh, where's the Xamarin Forms XAML, right?

>> Yeah!

>> That's where people can give you feedback as a team.

>> That's where they can go and find that,

and up vote that idea,

and help us prioritize that in our backlog.

>> It's important that you remember, like,

that a team of interns

came into the garage and build this.

How long did it take for them to build?

>> We got started with the initial idea back in June.

>> Okay.

>> That's when we started prototyping

and playing around with the idea.

>> Yeah. It's amazing to see

because I've always thought about something like this,

but I'm like I don't have time for that, right?

These interns come in;

they just build this amazing application,

so that's really cool.

>> Yeah it's pretty incredible. I mean,

like we said they're super talented college students and

we're thrilled actually that

many of them are coming back to rejoin us.

>> Nice.

>> They're actually coming back and hopefully

give us another hand to help us continue working on this.

>> Is there a place on the Garage website where people,

maybe that are interested in interning?

Like, can they find that on the garage website too?

>> Sure. Our garage internships,

if you're interested in joining us

>> Yeah, pitch it. I'm ready.

I get this question all the time,

by the way, and I'm like I don't know.

There's got to be a website somewhere.

>> No, absolutely. And we actually work with the rest of

our Microsoft University Recruiting Team

to get the super talented interns,

so if you're interested, please go

to microsoft.com/university.

There's a button on there, it says

"Find My School Recruiter".

>> Oh nice.

>> You can get in touch and

that's how you can get started

with your application process.

>> Awesome. Well George this is

absolutely amazing. I love it.

>> Thank you!

>> Yeah.

>> Yeah, we're pretty happy with it.

>> Yeah.

>> It's kind of fun.

>> I'll put all of the links into

the show notes below and there's some blogs on it,

some more details, how to get it into

your Xamarin Android application.

>> Yeah.

>> Thank you so much for coming on to show this off.

>>Yeah, no. This is this has

been great. I'm really happy to be here.

>> Awesome.

>> Thank you.

invisible illness we're talking about so like a popular one here is fibromyalgia

and I will probably do a video on that too as so many people still don't know

about it but having chronic being chronically ill myself I have learned

that there are so many other illnesses out there that I've never even heard of

and I know those with fibromyalgia can feel pretty alone because so many don't

know about it

and those that do know about it tend to judge it like many other illnesses that

you can't physically always see with your eyes so I want to show I want to

show other spoonie's that there's a lot of others out there even less known than

fibromyalgia if that makes any sense so I hope you guys like this series please

if there's any certain illnesses that you have or you know someone else has

and it's not really spoken up let me know comment down below and I will look

through there I will look through there and I hope you more than happy to share

those for you and I'm learning along with you guys so I think this would be I

think this will be a good learning experience to learn that there's a lot

more out there that we don't know about do my best to make the videos very

knowledgeable and

hoping that anyone that watches it and has this illness themselves that they

share a little more about it too and add to the video I think the comments

section of the videos of my videos are so much more meaningful it really adds

to it so don't forget to always check out the comment section you'll be seeing

a video here really soon and I believe it's one out of three Americans

diagnosed with some type of chronic illness that's a lot that's a lot of

people so I think on this platform it would be I think it'd be a great idea to

to share all the different health issues here since that has a lot to do with

what we talked about let me know what you think about that but my goal here is

to help spread awareness for other invisible illnesses along with

fibromyalgia I will see you guys really soon I hope you're doing alright if not

hanging in there I make videos weekly for those I don't know I make new videos

every week and if you'd like to join our Spoony fan just make sure to hit the

subscribe button the notification bell because you told can forget to tell

others otherwise if you follow me on twitter it automatically pops up when I

make a new video in case you didn't know oh one more thing you guys for those

that haven't seen my last video I'll put it somewhere on the screen here for you

Yeah!

Catchy, isn't it?

It's one of my own compositions.

That's not a song.

It's an abomination!

Abomination.

Mutations. Deviations.

That's all you're gonna find down here.

Who would be so bold as to come armed into my kingdom?

Spies?

Thieves?

Assassins?

Dwarves, Your Malevolence.

Dwarves?

We found them on the Front Porch.

Well, don't just stand there. Search them.

Every crack.

Every crevice.

It is my belief...

...your great protuberance, that they...

...are in league with Elves!

"Made in Rivendell. " Ah.

Second Age. Couldn't give it away.

Just a couple of keepsakes.

What are you doing in these parts?

Uh, don't worry, lads. I'll handle this.

What's...? What's that?

No tricks. I want the truth, warts and all.

You're going to have to speak up.

Your boys flattened my trumpet.

I'll flatten more than your trumpet!

If it's more information you want, I'm the one you should speak to.

Mm-hm.

We were on the road. Well, it's not so much a road as a path.

It's not even that, come to think of it. More like a track.

Anyway, the point is, we were on this road, like a path, like a track.

And then we weren't, which is a problem, because we were...

- ... supposed to be in Dunland... - Shut up.

...last Tuesday.

Visiting distant relations.

Some inbreds on me mother's side.

Shut up!

If they will not talk, we'll make them squawk.

Bring up the mangler.

Bring up the bonebreaker.

Start with the youngest.

Wait!

Well, well, well.

Look who it is.

Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror...

...King Under the Mountain.

Oh, but I'm forgetting. You don't have a mountain.

And you're not a king...

...which makes you...

...nobody, really.

I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head.

Just a head.

Nothing attached.

Perhaps you know of whom I speak.

An old enemy of yours.

A pale Orc, astride a white Warg.

Azog the Defiler was destroyed.

He was slain in battle long ago.

So you think his defiling days are done, do you?

Send word to the pale Orc.

Tell him I have found his prize.

Yes, teacher, we can. Don't worry about us.

See you soon then.

Oh, teacher Safak!

God brought you right in front of me! I was just coming from your place.

What's going on, handyman Sait? Why did you stop by?

The alteration at your place is done, teacher. I was going to give the key, but Mrs. Leman wasn't there.

I should hand this out to you, so I can walk away.

Everything is done as Mrs. Leman wanted to be done.

I've been doing this for years, but this was the finest of my craftsmanship.

I hope you'll like it, too, and live in it happily with your family.

PageHabit Romance Box | February 2018 - Duration: 2:34.

Hey guys it's Trina and I have the PageHabit February romance box to unbox for

you guys today. I'm just going to be doing this one from off-screen since I

have been a PageHabit affiliate for six months and you guys kind of know the

gist by now so I'm just gonna show you what the box looks like when you open it

up and on top as always we have the note from the author as well as the

information card that lets you know where this month's donation went to and

this month it was given to Ethiopia. Next we have the PageHabit bookmark that you

get every month and this one has a quote from George RR Martin on the back. It

says: "sleep is good, he said, and books are better." And then we have this package

which is actually a beanie. It is this knit cap and it has a little leather

detail on it that says bookworm and I like that that is pretty subtle on this

hat. Next we have this stationary set. It looks like it's llama themed so there's

paper, envelopes, and stickers, and I guess to go along with that and use them

they also included this pen. The next thing in my box is the monthly short

story that we get and this month we have Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving. This

is the classic tale so you might already be familiar with this story. And last but

not least we have the main attraction, it is the main book of this box and I chose

the romance box because I could tell from the hint on PageHabit's website

that the book this month was gonna be The Wedding Date. It is about two

characters that meet in an elevator and they agree to like go on this fake date

to a wedding. I've heard that this is very swoony, very sexy and it seems

interesting to me because I love the fake relationship trope. As always the

PageHabit books do have annotations from the author in them so you can see

one of those here and that is everything in this month's romance box. If there's a

specific genre that you want to see me unbox next month let me know ASAP, I

can do that. And I would also love to know from you guys in the comments what

is your favorite romantic trope? This one deals with the fake relationship which I

really enjoy and I would love to hear some of your favorite romantic tropes.

If you want to get a PageHabit box of your own of any genre you can use my

link below and my code which is my name, Trina, and you will get free shipping off

of your first box or if you're international you'll get five dollars

off. Thank you so much for watching and I will see you in the comments. Bye!

What It's Like Being Deaf And Shopping Alone - Duration: 8:26.

(Marker scratching)

(Electronic video game chime)

Hello.

So, today, we're going to be talking about being deaf and shopping alone

or my personal experience with being a deaf woman and shopping by myself.

If you want to check out any other deaf awareness videos that I have,

I do have a playlist dedicated to every single one of those videos

so I'll have it linked up here and you can check those out

after you finish watching this video.

So, I am someone who prefers to shop alone

just because then I can go at my own pace.

I don't always like to stand around forever

when somebody else has their eye on something.

Like, if they're just walking around with me

but then they see something and then they want to go

and they want to go look at it and they take forever to look at it.

I don't want to be involved in that,

even though I am that person that does the exact same thing

but you know how it is.

You hate it when other people do the thing that you do.

It's OK when you do it but it's terrible when somebody else does it.

So, I do like shopping alone

because then I can go as fast or as slow as I would like.

I don't feel bad when I take forever to try something on

and, like, just stare at it in the dressing room mirror for a while.

But, at the same time, I hate it

because I've come across some very awkward moments

while shopping by myself

and sometimes I just wish there was someone with me

to kind of prevent that from happening.

Now, I like to think that I have a good idea

of how things are gonna go when I walk into the store.

They're gonna say, "Hello."

They're gonna say, "How are you and are you looking for anything?"

That is what I think they're always going to say

because that seems to be what is always said in the movies

and that's what I have the most experience with

but sometimes it does not work quite that way.

So, I'll walk in and, the second someone looks at me, I'm just like,

"Hi. How are you? I'm just browsing."

I know a lot of people, a lot of retail people, hate it when that happens.

I even do it by accident sometimes.

I think that they're asking me, "Are you looking for anything?"

instead of, "How are you?"

and I actually just say, "Oh, I'm just browsing."

And then they look at me like, "What are you doing?"

And then they'll explain the sales and stuff like that

and I just look at them like, "OK."

And then I walk away awkwardly.

And there are moments when I, like...

For example, I had this happen at Plato's Closet.

I was looking around, I was just trying to find something

and it was kind of crowded.

And I'm just minding my own business, right?

And, as it turns out, there was this girl that was working there

that was following me around the store trying to get my attention

just to ask me how I was and if I was looking for anything.

I don't know how long this was going on but, when I turned around,

because I just kind of felt like there was something behind me or someone.

I just... I turned around and she looked at me

like she was so frustrated and she's like, "Are you looking for anything?"

And I was like, "Oh, no, I'm just browsing. You know?"

She just kind of looks at me like, "Yeah, OK."

And then I walked off.

Now, when I am trying to actually find something,

I've gone on the route of being oral about it

and then eventually it gets to a point

where I'm like, I can't keep doing this because I try to, like, ignore...

I try to, like...

Because I grew up mainstream,

it has always been easier for me to do everything out loud, right?

It has always been...

I have been so used to going up to someone and asking,

"Hey, I need help with this,"

rather than, like, gesturing it or writing it down.

So, I'm just always used to doing it the mainstream way.

And that comes back to bite me in the ass

because then they'll start trying to explain all these things to me

and ask me questions and I'm just like, "What?"

Because then I feel like it's so awkward for me personally

to try to change communication in the middle of it

and be like, "Oh, yeah, sorry I'm deaf, I'm gonna need to write that down,"

because then I feel like almost they don't believe me

because, in the beginning,

I was just like, "Yeah, blah, blah, blah, blah," like a hearing person.

Now I try my best to always just write it down and be like, from the get-go,

like, full-time deaf person for lack of a better way to explain it.

I'll just write down...

Like, for example, I went to Best Buy

because I needed stuff for my computer and I was gonna write down,

"Yeah, I'm looking for a power outlet thing and an extension cord."

And, if somebody came up to me,

I was just gonna show it to them and that would be it.

For the most part now, I also try to and have gotten pretty good at

just dodging salespeople.

This is easier to do at, like, Walmart and Target,

not so easy when it's at places like GameStop, for example,

where the store is significantly smaller or any of those small businesses

like local clothing boutiques or something or comic book stores.

It is much smaller

and typically the front desk is, like, right at the entrance

so I always just end up feeling a little bit awkward,

like, coming in and going and that part of it is not even a deaf thing,

it's just me feeling awkward if I don't actually buy something and walk out.

But I'm sure that there have been salespeople, employees

that look at me like I am a huge jerk

because I'll probably walk in and not know that they're talking to me

and they're probably asking me how I am

and then, if I'm walking out, they're probably like, "Have a good day,"

and then I have no idea that they are talking to me

and I'm just, like, walking right out.

Sometimes, I feel like I might come off as a jerk because I just don't hear them

but they have no idea that I literally cannot hear them.

And we all know that the first thing

that probably usually comes to a hearing employee's mind

when somebody doesn't pay attention

is that they're just being a jerk and ignoring them.

When it comes to checking out, that is awkward as hell for me.

I feel like that is the most awkward thing,

especially when they're, like, pushing, they're trying to ask questions.

Like, they're trying to ask if you have a rewards card

or if you want to sign up for their credit card and sometimes I feel like,

if they're asking a yes or no question, then I'm kinda like, "No..."

But then they look at me like, "What are you talking about?"

I had this happen at Old Navy. I was trying to buy something.

I was trying to buy something and this woman kept talking

and she was just, like, really...

Her voice was very soft. I could not hear a thing at all.

And she was actually getting a little rude about it

in my personal opinion because then I was, like, full-time deaf person, right?

And I was like, "Yeah, I'm deaf. I have no idea what you're saying."

And she would just keep repeating herself and I'm just like...

"I'm deaf."

"What did you say?"

"I don't know what you said."

Like, I was just doing that.

And then, when the...

And then, sometimes, you have those people

that make a little bit of conversation

and I'm just over here doing the bluffing and trying to nod

and then, if they look like they're laughing,

it looks like they're making a joke, I try to, like, do a half laugh with them.

And another example was I was making a return

and I had no idea what this person was asking.

I was like, "I want to make a return."

And then she kept saying something and I was like,

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

And, eventually, I was like, "Yeah, I can't hear you.

"Like, I'm deaf. I can't hear you."

And, eventually, I understood her

because, for the third time, she's like, "Return or exchange?"

And I was like, "Just said return.

"And I told you I can't hear you. What are you doing?"

Like, you couldn't pull out a receipt paper

and write that down because it would've gone a lot faster?"

'Cause she also looked annoyed with me

just like the Old Navy employee looked incredibly annoyed with me

and I'm just like, "I told you I can't hear you.

"It's not like I'm doing this on purpose.

"Like, believe me when I say that I don't understand you."

Those are some of my experiences with shopping alone

and not being able to hear most of what's going on.

If you have any personal experiences, feel free to leave them in the comments.

I'm sure there are some great stories out there.

But, after you make a comment and before you go,

if you haven't, I do have my Patreon link down below

in case you want to support my content and you have not pledged yet.

Or, if you are not interested in being a pledge

but you want to support somehow, I do have a Ko-fi link down below.

It's like a tip jar kind of thing. You know, make a one-time donation.

You don't have to do any of that

but, if you would just like to, I just want to mention that.

I will see you later. Bye.

Rick's Morty, Evil Morty, The One True Morty | Rick and Morty Fan Theory - Duration: 2:11.

WITH ALL THE UNIVERSE-HOPPING THAT RICK AND

MORTY DO, IT'S EASY TO START DOUBTING THE

ENTIRE CONCEPT OF REALITY.

BUT ONE THING MUST BE CERTAIN...THE MORTY WE

KNOW AND LOVE IS NOT THE SAME MORTY THAT

RICK STARTED WITH.

THE CLUES ARE EVERYWHERE THAT WE'RE DEALING

WITH AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE RICK.

CONSIDER THAT RICK HAS MEMORIES OF HOLDING

BABY MORTY IN "CLOSE RICK-COUNTERS OF THE

RICK KIND," WHICH "EVIL RICK" PLAYS FOR HIM ON A

SCREEN.

THIS IS ODD...BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT RICK HAS

BEEN MISSING FOR 20 YEARS BEFORE THE START

OF THE SHOW, SO THERE'S NO WAY HE COULD

HAVE BEEN HOLDING BABY MORTY, WHO IS NOW 14.

UNLESS...THE MORTY FROM HIS MEMORY IS

ACTUALLY A MORTY FROM A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE

ENTIRELY.

IN THE OPENING CREDITS, WE SEE MORTY GET KILLED

BY ALIENS, SO IT'S POSSIBLE THAT RICK HAS

LOST OR DITCHED MORTY MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE

PAST.

IN FACT IN CLOSE RICK-ENCOUNTERS HE IS GIVEN A

VOUCHER FOR A REPLACEMENT MORTY AND IT'S

IMPLIED THAT THIS IS A CONCEPT HE'S ALREADY

FAMILIAR WITH.

AND LET'S NOT FORGET THAT RICK KIND OF HAS A

HABIT OF DESTROYING THE PLANETS HE LIVES

ON.

IN "RICK POTION #9," RICK INADVERTENTLY

RUINS THE HUMAN POPULATION AFTER THE LOVE

POTION HE CONCOCTS FOR MORTY GOES HORRIBLY

WRONG.

AFTER THE FIRST BATCH OF SERUM INTERACTS WITH

THE FLU VIRUS AND GOES AIRBORNE, THE WHOLE

WORLD FALLS IN LOVE WITH MORTY.

RICK'S ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONLY

MAKE IT WORSE, THOUGH...MUTATING THE HUMAN

POPULATION FIRST INTO PRAYING MANTIS-PEOPLE,

AND LATER, BARELY HUMAN CREATURES.

THEY REALIZE THE WORLD IS BEYOND SAVING AND

LEAP TO ANOTHER DIMENSION AND RESTART THEIR

LIVES IN A PARALLEL WORLD.

AND IN THE VERY FIRST SCENE OF THE ENTIRE

SERIES, A DRUNK RICK ALMOST DESTROYS EARTH

WITH A NEUTRINO BOMB.

SO, OUR MORTY ISN'T REALLY THE O.G.

MORTY AT ALL, BUT ONE WHOSE LIFE RICK JUMPED

INTO AT SOME POINT IN TIME.

AND WHILE HE'D BEEN "MISSING" FOR 20

YEARS, HE HAD A MORTY BY HIS SIDE ALL THE

WHILE.

BUT THEN WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO RICK'S

ORIGINAL MORTY?

WHAT IF EVIL MORTY WAS RICK'S ORIGINAL MORTY?

EVIL MORTY HAS BEEN KNOWN TO GO ON RICK

KILLING SPREES.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS HAS BEEN HIS REVENGE

FOR HIS ORIGINAL RICK ABANDONING HIM?

SO, DID RICK WARN MORTY THAT A BIG HEADED

MORTY WAS A DANGEROUS THING…..

BECAUSE HE WAS SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Will It Crush? Granite Tombstones & Granite Countertops with a 16" x 24" Jaw Crusher Module - Duration: 3:28.

Hey guys.

My name is Jason with Mt. Baker Mining and Metals.

Today we are going to run two different samples for you, through one of our 16" x 24" Jaw

Crusher Modules.

We'll take a look at this one first, these are granite grave markers and a lot of times

the fabricator will have pieces that get little knicks on them or they get damaged or some

sort of screw up, so they need to crush them up and recycle them.

These things are 12" wide, 24" long and 4" thick.

So that's going to be our first one, we're gonna crush it down to about 1"-1 1/4" minus.

This is our second sample we are going to run these two separately.

This is countertop scrap and quartz stuff from granite fabricators.

We are going to run this through the vibrating hopper so you can see how it reacts in the

hopper, down through the Jaw Crusher and out the discharge conveyor.

So we will run these two and we can take a look at the results.

So thanks for watching

this installment of Will It Crush, if you have any questions or comments on the equipment

you saw today please be sure to email us or give us a call, all of which is in the description

below.

Stay tuned for a lot more cool videos.

Thanks for watching, we will see you on the next one.
