Waching daily Mar 10 2018

if you're new to model railroading you're gonna want to see this about

power supplies so let's get started right now I'm Tom Kvichak and this is

Toms Trains and Things this channel was created to help other modelers who are

in need of guidance in pursuing their dream of building a model railroad and

today we're going to talk about power supplies or power packs or transformers

no matter what you want to call it but probably you started out with something

like this if you've got a starter set a Bachman starter set you got a power

supply like this one here you had a little wall wart that plugs into here

and you put your little plug right here going through your tracks and then

you've got a thing right two plugs right here for accessories now

in another video after this one here we're going to talk about how to change

this AC accessory into DC on your power pack if you don't have a constant DC

source on your power pack that's a future episode if this is your first

time here and you would like to see more about model railroading for beginners go

ahead and hit that subscribe button and while you're at it ding that bell and

that'll notify you whenever I have a new video coming out so let's get going

right now we have modelers that are just starting out and then there are those

like myself that have been out of the hobby for years and coming back now I

came back about five or six years ago but I stayed up with everything that was

going on but you older folks you might be familiar with a Tyco power pack ahm

model power and if you're from any European country you'd have one from

Trix a Titan but we're going to talk about some of the newer ones that are

available now now this one right this model right here isn't brand new it's

still pretty old they still make a variation of this one

right here now this one is the rail master 2400 tech 2 made by MRC this one

here has six terminals on here it has the AC accessories it has variable DC

which goes to the track and we have fixed DC not all Power Packs are like

that so basically what we're going to talk about today is the variable DC that

goes to the track power they're an accessory AC which goes to your

accessories that's what most power packs have on them even the older ones this is

an AMC that I probably got about 30 plus 40 years ago same thing with the Tyco

but this is what you see on the newer starter sets right now the Bachmann

starter sets you see this type right here we're going to go beyond the

starter transformers and take you up into tech 2 and some other ones also the

first thing you want to take into consideration when you're buying a new

power pack is how big of a layout are you going to have how many locomotives

are you going to have what are you going to use the power pack for there are

different ranges of wattages that you could find and will go on the computer

to see what you'll be looking at when you're buying a power supply now most of

the power supplies on there are from MRC and this is not a paid endorsement I'm

not getting paid by them to to talk about this but most of the power packs

that you're going to find for H 0 or n scale is going to be MRC because they

make a lot of different versions of it so let's go on a computer to see what's

going on there when you go to your local hobby shop or go online you're going to

be faced with a lot of decisions you're going to be looking at a lot of stats a

about the power supplies and I'm going to show you a few tips to take a look at

to see what is the best power supply for you for your situation so let's take a

look at some online right here now if you go online and google model railroad

DC power pack you're gonna have a lot of items that you'll see on here you'll

have a lot of different hobby shops that are online that carry them you'll even

find easy power supply for model railroad one of my videos there but

anyway I wanted to show you eBay first you're gonna find a lot of

power packs on eBay all assorted sizes shapes age now this is one that has a

lot of Lion al ones on there and I pulled up another eBay earlier that had

some vintage Tyco and AHM Power packs that I showed you in my train room

that I have but anyway be very careful when you're going on eBay to buy

anything research research research I'm gonna pull up another one here's

Fiffer hobby and if you want anything from kato go ahead to his website Fiffer

Fiffer hobby supply but let's go to some other ones that i pulled up here

we'll go over here to MRC's webpage and as you can see they have a lot of

different power supplies for your model railroad in DC they have the tech seven

the dual control one and they have the tech seven the single control one and

you can see that they're not too far away in price so now here's where you

have to pay attention because both transformers look identical the only

difference is one has one throttle one has two throttles but you have to look

at the power available on these models and the one with

one throttle has more wattage than the one with two throttles and it's just a

basic it has direction for both of them and speed controls on it no real frills

on it let's pull up the instruction manual on there and let's see what kind

of specifications Ampex 700 okay now they have 707 67 80 on here and here's a

good place to to be able to look at the total output of them now on 700 you got

20 volt amps on the 760 20 volt amps 780 20 volt amps now the 780 that has the

two throttles on it each throttle is 10 volt amps at 14.5 volt DC and then you

have 14 point 8 volt AC the only thing different on this one here is the AC is

a little bit lower and the DC is a little bit lower on each throttle so

that's another thing that you might want to take into consideration now you could

see on there even though both transformers have the same output 20

volt amps on the two throttle version those 20 volt amps are divided into each

throttle on there so actually you're getting half the power on each one of

those throttles as you would on the 760 so the 780 even though it has the two

throttles on there your power on each individual throttle is going to be a lot

less than what it is on the 760 that only has the one throttle so this is

where you have to really pay attention to what you're buying and it's not just

on the MRC ones it's on every one so go online find the instruction manual so

see what the specs are on each transformer that you are thinking of

purchasing before you buy them so you know exactly what you're getting

and then you won't be surprised once you get it so research research research

that's what's up that's what I'm going to stress all the time is find out what

you're going to buy and know exactly what it is that you are going to buy so

you could tell from that spec sheet what you're actually getting so pay attention

and do your research here are a few more that they have this is more this one

right here is more like the style almost except that they don't have the big knob

on it like I have and they have the terminals on the side of it this one

here is 18 volt amp you can see that there's quite a few on there you have to

take a look around and see what your needs are for your model railroad you

can get a lot of used power packs from people go to train shows and you'll find

a lot of them there a lot of people are going over to DCC and they have no need

for their power packs I have probably 10 power packs and a

tote over there that I don't use I just used them for demonstrations on my

videos but I bet you there's a lot of other modelers who have the same thing

that they have a lot of old power packs that are perfectly good that they were

are willing to get rid of even if you go to a trade show and talk to other

modelers there you might run into somebody that will have some that'll

sell them to you dirt cheap so take a look ask ask around see what you could

find there's a lot out there basically they're all the same they all the deuce

do the same thing you just have to see how much power they actually can handle

and that is what determines what you're going to need on your model railroad if

you're just going to want to run one locomotive at a time on

oval you're not going to need that much power honor and you can get away with a

very inexpensive power supply but if you want to run multiple trains you have

multiple ovals you have multiple blocks on there and you want to get up into

running more trains on more tracks then you're gonna have to go with the higher

wattage and maybe even a couple of power supplies the ones with the dual the ones

with the dual throttle their wattage is a little bit lower than the single

throttle so you have to take that into consideration you want to buy two power

supplies that are higher wattage or one power supply with two throttles that are

lower wattage you have to make that decision yourself I hope this helped you

out and we'll go back out into the train room to end this thing out here in

future episodes we'll be covering more on how to power your model railroad and

how to use AC and DC on your model railroad mostly DC with external power

sources so keep an eye out for those and we'll see ya

Bloopers That Make Us Love Thor: Ragnarok Even More - Duration: 5:26.

Along with behind-the-scenes features and the occasional Marvel One-Shot, the gag reels

are a favorite staple of Marvel Blu-ray releases.

Fans not only get to laugh, but we also see the bonds formed behind the scenes.

And it's hard not to fall in love with them just a little bit.

Here are some of the most hilarious bloopers and gags waiting on the Thor: Ragnarok Blu-ray.

Butterfingers

One of Mjolnir's amazing properties is that when Thor wills it back to his hand, it comes

straight away.

Even if the hammer needs to cross nations, galaxies, or Doctor Strange's entire collection

of sorcerer artifacts, Mjolnir always comes home.

"Sorry."

Unfortunately, Mjolnir's fantastic abilities are one thing, and the properties of Thor:

Ragnarok's props are another.

The Blu-ray's gag reel proves that either someone off-camera wasn't very good at throwing,

or the cast just isn't very good at catching.

This kind of thing is to be expected.

By all appearances, Chris Helssworth has never been able to catch anything anyway.

Low blows

Thor: Ragnarok included some fantastic leading female characters.

Cate Blanchett turned in a fun and utterly vicious portrayal of the lead villain, and

Tessa Thompson was funny, believable, and badass as Valkyrie.

"He's mine"

And that just makes the number of crotch shots that happened during filming even more fitting,

especially since almost all of them come unintentionally from Blanchett, Thompson, or Thompson's stunt

double.

"Are you Okay?"

Pew pew!

You may be familiar with the story that, while filming lightsaber duels in the Star Wars

prequels, Ewan McGregor had to make an effort not to make his own lightsaber sounds.

"To begin with it was quite difficult not to make the sound."

"Yeah."

"Bzzzz and also when it goes away… it makes that nice sshhhhhhh noise when it goes down."

Well apparently, it's not as uncommon as you'd think.

The Ragnarok gag reel shows us a number of shots when Kate Blanchett had to stop because

she realized she was making comic-book sound effects.

"I shouldn't make the noises with my mouth should I?"

Warm up

Not everything on the gag reel is a blooper.

Sometimes, perfectly reasonable things like warming up between takes just looks funny.

"Hey!"

They're not playing to the camera or making any funny mistakes.

They're just making sure they don't pull a hamstring when they pretend to be super people

in a couple of minutes.

No harm in that.

All fall down

Maybe it's a side effect of the Revengers' escape from Sakaar through the "Devil's Anus."

Or maybe director Taika Waititi took the bottomless mug of beer from the Doctor Strange scene

and passed it around the cast and crew every day.

But for whatever reason, no one in the cast of Thor: Ragnarok seemed to be able to stay

upright for more than a few seconds at a time.

What makes their various spills that much funnier is that it never seems like there's

anything in particular knocking them down.

They don't seem to be in the middle of complicated action sequences.

They just fall down.

A lot.

"f---"

Avenging bros

While Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo don't have the same chemistry going as Iron Man

and Hulk did in The Avengers, they've got their own buddy feel in Thor: Ragnarok, though

it's definitely more Odd Couple.

"I smashed you."

"Yeah, sure sure"

"Baby arms."

What

"Baby."

"You're a big child."

"Thor go."

"I am going!"

Almost two years before the film's release, Mark Ruffalo compared the Thor/Hulk relationship

in Ragnarok to the one between Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin in 1988's Midnight Run.

It's a love/hate relationship, but the two still share some hilarious moments in the

gag reel.

"I thought you were gone forever I'm glad to see you back!"

"You're ruining my disguise!"

Unique skill

The Grandmaster of the comics isn't a particularly fun guy.

Unless you think it's fun to habitually kidnap superheroes to make them fight for your amusement.

Regardless, Jeff Goldblum's realization of the character is one of the best reasons to

see Ragnarok.

"You're officially pardoned...from life"

And when he shows up in the gag reel, he definitely leaves an impression, most notably when he

demonstrates his real life super power:

"Watch this."

Dancing fools

Most of the Marvel gag reels feature bits of the cast breaking into dance while filming,

and the reel for Thor: Ragnarok is no exception.

But while the cast occasionally cut a rug, the fanciest feet on the set undoubtedly belonged

to director Taika Waititi, who apparently never stops dancing.

"A day on the set working with Taika involves hijinks, dancing, Yeah, he's just a big kid."

In the end, all that play time translated into an incredibly fun movie, so maybe Taika

Waititi is onto something.

"That is how you make movies."

He Ransomed Me - Duration: 2:14.

There's a sweet and blessed story Of the Christ who came from glory

Just to rescue me from sin and misery; He in loving-kindness sought me

And from sin and shame he brought me - Hallelujah!

Jesus ransomed me.

Hallelujah! what a Savior Who can take a poor, lost sinner,

Lift him from the miry clay and set him free!

I will ever tell the story, Shouting, "Glory, glory, glory!"

Hallelujah!

Jesus ransomed me.

From the depth of sin and sadness To the heights of joy and gladness

Jesus lifted me in mercy full and free; With His precious blood He bought me,

When I knew Him not He sought me, And in love divine He ransomed me.

Once I was lost in sin's degradation, Jesus came down to bring me salvation,

Lifted me up from sorrow and shame, Now I belong to Him.

Hallelujah! what a Savior Who can take a poor, lost sinner,

Lift him from the miry clay and set me free!

I will ever tell the story, Shouting, "Glory, glory, glory!"

Hallelujah!

Jesus lifted me.

EXPLORE life through MUSIC - Duration: 6:40.

what's up guys I hope everyone had a fantastic week welcome back to Saturday

it's 10:00 a.m. Eastern in the United States the new video is out this is the

video another talking head Edition because it's been storming it's been a

rainstorm and then snowstorm in this area but you know what it not gonna stop

us because we have a controlled environment out here let's just jump

straight into the topic of today's video today I would like to talk about this

kind of things music I'll get back to this guy a little

bit later I picked music is a main topic this week because it's simple as it is I

love music ever since my parents would play the music of different kinds

genres and styles for me and my sister while we were at our old apartment I

fell in love with that I fell in love with a beat I fell in love with a melody

I fell in love with different kind of instruments and to this day I cannot

imagine my life without music yes that was the visual proof that was the Nugget

of our prior history god bless Sony camcorders from early 90s and

although I love music you know what I hate I hate modern day radio because at

least in the United States they constantly play the same ten to fifteen

songs every single day when I moved here and back in 2010-2011 I would turn on

the radio and consistently every day it will be the same 12 songs playing I

actually counted them and I had a list of them and I'll be like yep check check

check check check check check all the same songs every single day week after

week but do you know what I fell in love with I fell in love with the streaming

services exactly for the opposite reason because the streaming services like

Spotify Pandora SoundCloud Apple music I think Samsung music has oh and groove

there's Microsoft's Groove they were the liberation we all need it we're now able

to stream any kind of song from any part of the world as long as we have the

internet connection and this is amazing you might rightfully ask

wait a second Tohir your channel is all about experiencing new things so why

are you talking about music and the reason for that is very simple I think

music is one of the best ways to explore the world explore different cultures

without getting your behind out of the seat of your chair I constantly listen

to music while I'm at my desk working or I'm doing some chores around the house

or even sometimes at the gym and one thing I never did with music I

never go on those streaming services to the top hundred top 20 charts what I do

is that I go and I explore I pick a genre that I would really listen to I

pick an artist that I've never heard about and I would commit to a full album

or a playlist and as I listen to them I would tag guys that I like and I would

come back and actually explore them further and when we find some other

artists this way I've been finding some truly unique artists so why did I tease

this vinyl album by weeknd it's actually a compilation of his first

three albums and this is compilation number 634 out of thousand that were

only released so I have one of the thousand only copies you can see the

reflection of my set up nooo.. I had to brag a little but I think I deserve it

because when I was doing this kind of exploration back in 2009 2010 I came

across this Canadian R&B singer which sounds very different which had very

unique lyrics and no one knew anything about him and his name was the weekend a

lot of people would argue with me back in 2011 thousand twelve about this

guy because they did not believe he will make it but here we are

2018 and this guy is one of the biggest R&B stars of at least this generation

here is a quick proof that I was actually listening to this guy and I was

trying to promote him now fast forward 2014 yet another exploration takes me

to this young artist called SZA which I wasn't even sure how to pronounce which

later turned out to be SeeZaa yet again people would say nah she's not gonna

make it she sounds too irregular bring us back

to 2018 she's a grammy-nominated multi-platinum artist exploration music

exploration and I'm all about it here is yet another proof for the fact that I

did find her back then you truly find some gems out there you

just need to go and search hard enough my openess to explore young artists who

are yet to make it gave me a chance to enjoy their artistry before anyone else

would get it so those were my own personal hidden secret and I got to enjoy it way

before a lot of other people did the message for today is that I want you all

to go out there use the streaming service Spotify and SoundCloud to name a

few are free so you actually can go right

this minute and pick some random genre pick a random

artist and enjoy their album you might find something that you really love and

that artist might then make it the same way as the weekend or SZA made it for

me and you'll be able to say yep I found these guys before all of you did maybe

you'll even make a youtube video about it who knows please please please go and

explore I'm telling you you will enjoy the journey and you'll never look back

like I did these days all I'm doing is trying to find the new list of some

random music because this is how I find my new favorite artists and if you need

a little bit of an inspiration and if you want to have a new artist like this

on your radar here is the preview of another artist who I found last year who

I think will be the next big star

her name is Kelela she's very unique she has something special that it about her

you may think that this is a fluke but something tells me this girl has a

bright future ahead of her and I'll be very excited to make a video three four years

framing in in this section of this video and saying told you so! I'll link her

profile and maybe some of the albums or playlists that I'll find down below at

least you'll have a chance to explore it in a very lazy way through only one

click this is all that I have for you for today the silver lining of this

video is explore the world through music as always thank you very much for

stopping by don't forget let me know those comments

below the artist that you found what you thought about this video and this

message you can always find me on this channel next Saturday at 10 a.m. on my

social media every day and that's it if you're new consider subscribing to all

of you don't forget to like this video share it with your friends and I'll see

you next week peace

W18:11 Babies: Natural Alarm Clock - Duration: 12:47.

mommy mommy mommy mommy this mommy that mommy that mommy that

Hello you guys and welcome back to my channel, my name is Laraddiji, if you're watching

this channel for the first time you're most specially welcome to this family

have you seen the video about my experiences and how I survived my school

education years hmm stop procrastinating and watch it

already alright don't forget to like this video and subscribe if you've been

inspired from what you hear today, so today it's all about um School of

Fraternal Twins this is one of the five sections of my channel so feel free to

explore the other channels after you've you know seen this video alright there's

tons of information that might you know speak to you or you know information

that you might learn from okay so I'll be talking about how babies are our

natural alarm clocks yep you don't need to set your alarm well let's get to it I

remember when I was pregnant with the twins you know right from the womb the

twins were able to wake me up from my sleep and not in a cute way

my daughter especially will be most mostly in one spot of my belly for a

while and that would make me sore it would always felt like her head or her butt

was pressing too hard or something it was like getting a pressure also but

from the inside and nothing changed with every possible position change I made

until she herself moves away from that position, when the twins were born I was

on my night duty you know caring for them and then my mom and my husband

would handle the morning shift with them so that I could get some rest, I for one

was very excited about the kids and since they were my first children I

didn't have any recent experience to compare with, honestly waking up every

couple of hours at night to feed and change two children was something else I

don't even know how I did it but now with the birth of our son I knew exactly

what to expect and I was prepared plus it's one baby

even though every pregnancy and baby is not the same so that's just how it is so

let's get to it why do baby cries in the first place or

on cry in the first place as you all know something is not right they can't

talk or sign language so the only way they can communicate with you is through

crying and then you know you have to start guessing we're ruling out one by

one by one if it's hunger maybe it's a diaper change maybe it's a position

change or maybe they just want to be held if you have children you know how

it is in the first three months of their lives you know it's busy it's taskin

it's testing and hopefully you know rewarding what I realized was whether

you like it or not when a baby cries you should get up and run, towards them I

mean don't run away from them there are tempting times though, trust me

especially when you have more than one with twins the chances that the other

one will wake up when one of them starts crying is very high so when when my son

or my daughter start crying I just go the first I get there fast I gets the

crib the faster I can remove the crying baby from the scene then the more chance

of the other baby falling back to sleep as soon as possible

after eating or after a diaper change if I waste any time I will suffer the

consequences especially when I've just got back from

work and I'm trying to sleep when I'm trying to get a little bit of rest trust

me this is important so this is why it's

very important to think very deeply before deciding to have children if you

are the type of person that smoothies three to four times before getting out

of bed in the morning when you have babies trust me there are no snoozes you

just have very irritated and frustrated babies if you don't get your butt up

immediately. I took care of the twins for the first three months of my maternity

leave and also while going back to school part-time, the thing is when I

went back to work there was a bit of a struggle I worked nights

I would usually come home around 9:00 a.m. the next day from 6:00 p.m. the

previous night that's about 15 hours out of the house

13 times a month roughly and the kids will still need a mom when I'm home

while I still need to sleep so whenever the kids woke up I would

wake up right there's no sick there's no sick time for mommies

kids don't know anybody schedules they don't know you have to eat they don't

know you have to sleep they don't know you have to do laundry they don't know

you have a life they just eat sleep poop selfishly on your life most of the time

I ran on three to four hours of sleep that was interrupted very frequently a

day okay so they were definitely my alarm clock because it was constantly

ringing I learned quickly that to be a parent one has to have a lot of patience

lots of perseverance lots of Tolerance and lost lots of

self-control, I don't even feel like I was a mom until my kids were able to say

mummy and my goodness they would tap and tap my hand away or my leg or my tummy

or even step on my toes as they scream or cried mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy this

mommy dad mommy that mommy this so that was then

what's happening now right the twins are three years old now and

they their schedule is basically still the same when I sleep at home as in when

I'm off from work they still wake me up unless we're going to church or

something or or they have an appointment or you know something we have to wake up

really early for then then we'll wake up earlier, if you're single or you're

the cousin or you are the uncle the aunt, the grandparent the friend, the

neighbor and you find yourself taking care of a child or children that are not

yours and that child will be spending the

night ask a lot definitely ask a lot of questions from the parents before you

are alone with them all right allergies, attitudes, behaviors how to calm the

child down what do you need to keep away from the children

you know what you need to keep the children away from you know obviously

the dangerous stuff the knives you know keep them away, the pens you know

depending on their age and their developmental stage like the twins at

their age now I still need to keep away all my pens my markers you know they

have to be in my line of sight at all times I have to see what they're doing in this

age of technology you can always call the parents God forbid if anything

happens but like my dad always says prevention is better than cure

it's better if I know how to prevent a situation from happening all right

unless you're a professional then by all means have a good night, you will need to

follow the instructions you are given exactly and you might have a good night.

if you don't have instructions or maybe the child was dropped off to you in an

emergency situation then please sleep lightly okay children have a mind of

their own be ready for anything keep your guard up be ready to improvise

be ready to be enlightened I feel like young teenagers who are

newly sexually active should be supervised should be supervised as they

babysit a child who had who has a minor cold or maybe babysit a child who's

teething or maybe a child who's not feeling too well and this can be their

contraception method yeah taking care of a baby okay

I know you know some schools have you know fake babies that you take home

trust me there's nothing like having a real baby cry and you trying to

figure out what's going on okay so this is exactly what happened to me I took

care of a baby that was teething and the poor baby was in so much pain

I tried all I could and by the time the mom came back from her outing I'm like I was

done I was exhausted I tried I told myself I'm never ever ever having a kid

I was so scared and decided I wouldn't even have kids until I was absolutely

ready, I had twins when I was 27 and I feel like I was in a good mental state

to take care of them parents are kind of like servants to a

certain extent to their children you know changing diapers cooking meals

wiping up messes and cleaning up the house a million times a day and I feel

like if yo're the selfish type and your needs have to conquer others then

taking care of children will be a rude awakening so good luck to you guys

starting out hopefully I've opened your eyes out a bit so child care what makes

it all worthwhile is that no situation is permanent, children will grow and

learn to be their own selves and be on their own and also you get to appreciate

your parents in your life because they went through a lot raising you whether

you like it or not this reality this realization hits you okay, it hits hard

when you have kids of your own especially for those who have broken

relationships with their parents. some questions I would like to ask you guys

is what have you done to make life easier for you if you have if you have

more than one or two children regarding getting them ready for the day, I feel

like no matter what I do it still takes four or five hours just to get ready okay

please I need some tricks all right, for those of you who have twins

do you really wake up the other twin if one of them is awake for food or a

diaper change honestly why punish the other twin

really I don't do it when one wakes up I take care or the one wakes up I take

care of that one I'm not gonna wake them up that's like selfish I don't know what

you guys think what have your experiences been you know taking care of

someone else's child when you were single I've told you mine was horrible

I'm like I'm never having kids all right so that's all for now you guys

you know I just wanted to do a little bit on this topic
