A Study of Anomalous Art - SCP Information and Tale - Duration: 8:43.

A Study of Anomalous Art

A Study of Anomalous Art, from the Paleolithic to the Present

By Doctor Hannah Morel, head of the Artistic Anomalies Unit

(The following excerpt is from pages 6-9 of Doctor Morel's paper.

The full document may be accessed from the Foundation Central Archives)

According to William Tartore, founder of the Artistic Anomalies Unit, anart is "a piece

of artistic media with an anomalous effect that was intended by the artist as part of

the expression of the piece.

There are instances where media will exhibit anomalous properties unintended by the creator,

and in such instances the anomalous properties are unconnected with what is being expressed."

This definition has served for almost forty years, and in my experience and the experience

of many others, is the one certainty in the study of anomalous art.

Of course, this definition is certain because it is broad and universal.

Moving beyond this surface description, anart becomes much more difficult to define.

Anart will often use experimental, illegal, or impossible mediums of expression, and the

expressions made by anart are often incredibly esoteric, completely nonsensical, or impossible

for human beings to understand.

Many times, scholars attempting to define anart will fall into the old debate of "what

is art", an act which rarely aids them.

This document is meant as a study of the history of anomalous art, or anart, and aims to provide

an overview of its major schools, philosophies, styles, and practitioners.

Literary anomalies will not be covered in this paper.

The chaotic and bizarre nature of anart makes classification of styles incredibly difficult.

While in certain periods we may see an overarching and clearly-defined theme, where the majority

of anartists follow the same philosophy with predictable results, this is the exception,

rather than the rule.

It is rare for more than small cells of anartists to follow a single philosophy, and often cells

and individuals will mix schools and styles as according to their whims.

However, study of anart in the long term reveals patterns and internal consistencies.

Throughout history, there have been four major schools of anomalous artists: Those who want

to repair reality through art, those that wish to remake reality, those who wish to

destroy reality, those that wish to create new realities.

It should be noted, however, that these schools are arbitrary labels created by the Foundation

in order to define something that is very difficult to define: the practitioners of

these schools will never claim themselves as such, and no anartist or piece of anart

will ever fit entirely neatly into these categories.

These schools and their primary sub-schools are as follows:

Reconstructionists - Those anartists who wish to fix social, economic, and ethical problems

through the implementation of anart.

Reconstructionist anart is meant for the sole purpose of achieving an end, and is therefore

temporary, becoming unnecessary when the goal has been reached.

Petty Reconstructionists – Supporters of movements that did not originate with an anartist

or group of anartists.

This sub-school has become increasingly prevalent since the middle of the twentieth century

up through the present.

True Reconstructionists – The founders of movements.

The goals of these movements may be similar to non-anomalous groups, but they maintain

no association with them beyond shared goals.

Dadaist / Radical Reconstructionists - This school exhibits no sense or coherency in their

causes or methods, outside of the pursuing of a goal, albeit a nonsensical one.

Dadaist Reconstructionist movements rarely last long, and very rarely span more than

a single person, both the result of the seemingly necessary lack of sanity required.

Recreationists - Those anartists who shape pre-existing reality according to their will.

Unlike Reconstructionist art, Recreationism does not necessarily work toward a greater

end, and is meant to be a permanent fixture; however, there is still a great deal of overlap.

Minor Recreationists - The most common Recreationist sub-school, wherein anart is used transform

on a small scale: a person, an object, or a single place.

It is common in the present day for many anartists, even those of highly opposed schools, to experiment

with Minor Recreationist art, most commonly in body modification.

Major Recreationists - This sub-school is based solely on the scope of the anart used,

as it is aimed at transforming countries, societies, the entire world, or things of

similar large scale.

These projects usually involve large cells of anartists, often of different schools,

led by a specific individual or group.

These projects very rarely come to fruition, as they are usually either interrupted by

outside forces or collapse due to infighting or mismanagement.

Reformed Recreationists - Art is for the transformation of the self in all aspects.

This sub-school has traits similar to that of religions, and as such is rife with conflicting

themes and ideas.

This sub-school is notable in the general lack of external artistic media: the Reformed

Recreationist considers the soul to be the perfect canvas, and as such it is the only

one worth using.

Deconstructionists -Those anartists who act to destroy facets of pre-existing reality,

without providing replacement.

Pseudo-Deconstructionists - This sub-school focuses on toppling what they view to be oppressive

or corrupt structures of society.

This sub-school often mixes with the Reconstructionist schools, most commonly Petty Reconstructionism.

True Deconstructionists - The target is not only to be destroyed, but erased utterly from

reality, so that it never existed in the first place.

This is a very rare sub-school, a testament to the difficulty of creating such a work.

Of course, it should be noted that their rarity might be a result of their past success.

Absolutist Deconstructionists - A school based on the belief that existence itself is both

corrupt and meaningless and must be destroyed completely.

Members of this sub-school are highly dangerous and openly hostile, and should be dealt with

using extreme caution.

Creationists - The broadest school of anart, focusing solely on the creation of art and

expression through it.

Some scholars claim that all anart is by nature Creationist, and so the label is redundant.

To an extent this is true: there is extensive overlap between Creationist art and other

schools.

However, the general opinion is that Creationism is specific enough to exist on its own.

True Creationists - The vast majority of anartists fall into this category, and it serves as

an effective catch-all for those who do not easily fall into other categories.

This definition extends to all anartists who create anart for its own sake, and whose view

of art does not place them among the High Creationists or Artistic Deists.

High Creationists - Through the act of creation the anartist does not only express reality,

but defines it.

This is a property shared amongst all anartists, and so all anartists are considered valid

in the eyes of this school.

Recent scholarship has argued that this is not a true school of anart, and the position

has been gaining momentum in recent years.

Artistic Deists - The Artist is God.

Unlike High Creationists, where the ability to define truth and reality is shared by all

artists, the Artistic Deist believes that the right is theirs alone, and that no other

individual may define truth.

Artistic Deists are often highly dangerous, often exhibiting traits of megalomania.

Sufficiently skilled Artistic Deists may be considered in the same category as reality-manipulators.

Each of these schools and their respective sub-schools will be explained in greater detail

in later chapters.

Game Of Thrones Prequel Series Spin Off Getting BIG Budgets + Season 8 Stuff HBO Game Of Thrones - Duration: 4:02.

Hey, what's up everyone so on this video, I'm gonna talk about a little bit of Game of Thrones

It might get a little spoiler ish nothing too specific, but I'm gonna talk about some of the upcoming stuff so four warning kind of

Hey, what's up moviegoers, okay?

So I want to do Game of Thrones videos on here from time to time if you follow me

You know I usually cover Marvel DC Star Wars and Ninja Turtles a little bit of Dragon Ball

I plan to cover some older Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stuff down the road and some other stuff here and there but Game of Thrones

Is one of my favorite television shows and in scrolling through my videos? I was kind of surprised

I haven't really done a video on it yet

so Let's talk about some Game of Thrones this will be quick just something that stuck out to me that I wanted to share with you

Guys and discuss a little bit, okay, so Game of Thrones is entering its final season and as some of you may already know

They're already working on a prequel series over at HBO

That'll take place. I believe way before the current storylines that are taking place and this excites me

I'm very excited for the last season of Game of Thrones

but also very saddened that it's ending this prequel series gives me a

glimmer of hope of something to look forward to and recently over on The Hollywood Reporter

I saw that there was an IM TV conference in Israel and HBO

senior VP of Drama said during the panel that the spin-offs will have

budgets similar to the budgets that the current show gets and that they will go over what the current show got in its early days

There's a quote that says 50 million per season would never fly for what we're going to try to do

We are going big wow that's great news

Cannot wait to see where this goes the quote continues with it feels like a corporate malfeasance

To not continue it and I agree they have to keep going this goes on to talk about

The final table read for the last episode for the current show and it says a really powerful moment in our lives and our career

None of the cast had received the scripts prior and one by one they all

Started to fall down to their deaths by the end the last few words on the final script the tears just started falling down

Then there was applause that lasted

15 minutes amazing all I can say is it's hard to believe how fast this series went by I'm definitely gonna miss it

but I'm glad they're taking at least what looks like the proper steps and developing these spin-offs usually when a show does a spin-off there's

this vibe like it's going to be a

lacklustre compared to the original series

But something about how they've been talking about this and the planning for this that seems to be taking place really makes me feel like

This next series will have just as great of an impact as this first series at least that's how it feels to me right now

But that's it

That's it for the quote looks like they want to continue the current production

Quality that the use for this series and adopt it to the new series and that appears like great news to me and probably to

Other Game of Thrones fans, but that's it alright guys that does it for today. I just wanted to share that with you

Hope you guys enjoyed the video. Let me know down below

if there's any Game of Thrones

topics you want to see me do a video on and I may go ahead and cover it so leave that down below in the

Comment box for me in and I'll go ahead and check them out

Also, if you like videos on movies and television and aren't subscribed then go ahead and hit that subscribe button alright guys

Thanks for watching. That's tonight's top movie moment. I'll see you in a little bit with another video take care

Lapissa talvella 2018 - kovia pakkasia ja autiotupien lämpöä - Duration: 34:42.

Hey guys,

greetings from Finnish Lapland

Today is 5th of March

we´ll be heading out on a winter hiking trip

Behind my back you can see the Saariselkä highland

so we´re at Urho Kekkonen National Park again

In my ahkio I have food for a week or so

but I don´t have a real plan for this hike

The coming days will determine our stay here

What I am sure of is that

a wintery mountain- and forest wilderness will show us great scenery

At Finnish Lapland in winter 2018 brutal cold weather, warm wilderness cabins

I arrived to the north via train and bus

A long, 12 hour drive up here isn´t compelling

I´ll rather hop on the night train in my home town

I´ll sleep nicely in a train cabin

I´ll wake up at Rovaniemi and change to a bus

The bus comes straight to Kiilopää mountain centre

a UKK wilderness access point

So traveling here with public transportation is super easy

I head out through the familiar gate, towards the wilderness

I happened to see a rescue mission

Someone was being rescued from the wilderness

First I saw a helicopter in the distance

Looking for a landing site

The two snowmobiles passed me full throttle

They came back after some time

They were going slowly, so I assume someone was being transported

Lets hope that nothing too bad had happened

and the person being rescued would make it just fine

Around there I noticed

that the snow on the mountain carried my weight very well

I turned away from the track

and continued over Niilanpää top

and headed towards Rautulampi lake

We´re here at Rautulampi day cabin

the time of sunset is just here

I´ll continue towards Lankojärvi lake nontheless

This is only a day cabin, not meant for staying overnight unless

there´s some sort of exigency, and that´s not the case

This is the highlands, only small birch grows here

making a tarp camp here is not convenient at all

the wind is quite strong here too

I´ll just continue on to Lankojärvi lake and cabin

It´s 8 kilometres (5 miles) from here

Some tracks seem to lead that way

that makes traveling in the snow a lot easier

The terrain becomes a lot easier here

I came over the mountains to Rautulampi

going up and down on the hills

from here on towards Suomujoki river and Lankojärvi

the whole distance is one long way down

There´s a snowmobile track here

hiking on the track is easy and relaxed

Siberian Jay, kuukkeli in Finnish

Lankojärvi open wilderness cabin

Our second day begins at Lankojärvi cabin on Suomujoki river

I arrived yesterday evening with the very last daylight

a group of four were already here

next door at the reserve cabin were four people too

the cabin was cosy warm

coming from the cold, a warm cabin was great!

The upper level was free so I laid out my sleeping gear there

after having some food I slept around the clock

from 8pm to 8am, that was a good night´s sleep

I got a flu just before this trip

so I´ve felt somewhat half-conditioned

now I feel great and the flu isn´t slowing me down

The other guys continued to Luirojärvi lake

we won´t be heading out today

we´ll stay at the cabin and look around

I want to spend some time in this nice scenery

tomorrow we´ll be heading onwards

Lankojärvi lake is actually a backwater in Suomujoki river

the river flow here gets weaker and

the river freezes very well here

Up there is the open cabin

this is a great place

Suomujoki river flow continues that way

The cabin has an open side and reserved side

that´s how the wilderness cabins usually are

Behind the cabin the forest

is not dense at all, and

a lot of room for shelters

one time I was here with like 20-30 highschool students

so a lot of hikers fit here if need be

Here´s the firewood shed and outhouse of course,

located behind the cabin itself

Speaking of shelters, last night´s lowest temp was at -28C (-18.4F)

I must admit, it´s pretty brutal for sleeping outside

I was happy to be in the cabin

You could spend the night out in -28C (-18.4F) too, but

but it requires a lot from the sleeping gear

in the morning there´s gonna be a frozen lump of ice

on the sleeping bag, from your breath

I don´t really enjoy sleeping in extreme cold but,

we´ll see if we´ll sleep outside on this hike, or

stay at the cabins for the nights

Earlier I said there´s not a plan for this hike,

but I thought to stay along Suomujoki river,

and not go further into the wilderness

I could not know that there is a lot of

snowmobile tracks in many directions here

traveling along the tracks is child´s play, and

we could easily go anywhere along the tracks

But I already had been thinking that

we´ll have some easy days here, and

go on day hikes at the cabin surroundings

I want to relax, not hike all day long

I´ve been in the UKK National Park several times

and I also plan to return many times,

so I don´t need to go on the lookouts for example every time I´m here,

because I know I will be returning here,

and I´ve visited the highest point Sokosti a couple of times already

That´s a nice view on Karunaslaavu hill

Behind it is Taimenlampi lake,

where we camped one night on my first Lapland video,

it´s called "Lapland hike in early summer 2016" I think

It´s awesome here

so peaceful too

the amount of space impresses me every time,

even though I´ve been here a few times,

it always strikes me that

the wild nature goes on as far as you can see

You can´t experience this anywhere else in Finland

I´d rather not be anywhere else right now!

Good morning!

our third day begins

It´s minus 30C outside (minus 22 Fahrenheit)

You could say the air is crisp indeed

My traditional hiking oatmeal breakfast

the small bag has apple-cinnamon powder

I´ll mix it into the boiling water first,

and after that, put some oats in

It´s a good habit to save gas while cooking

my oatmeal is boiling somewhat, and

I´ll turn off the stove, and let the oatmeal stew under the lid

Oatmeal is even better when stewed, compared to just cooking on the stove

You lose nothing

just wait a little longer before getting to eat

Sometimes I meet interesting people here

last night a Spanish adventurer stayed here along myself

not a young man by any means, almost white beard

past midlife I´m sure

he told me he´s doing a skiing challenge

it´s called "Lapland Extreme Challenge"

the challenge is 1000 kilometres (620 miles)

you have 30 days to complete it

you have to go through certain checkpoints

The route starts at Rovaniemi town, and

goes on to the north from there,

it goes unto Inarijärvi lake,

then turns towards south, goes to Ivalo town,

and through the UKK National Park here,

and eventually back to Rovaniemi town

he told me he has covered 600km (373 miles),

and will finish the remaining 400km in a week,

It was interesting to meet him, get a

look at his gear and hear the story

I used to have an interest in adventure like that too

I must say now that I got a glimpse of it,

I certainly didn´t feel like I wanna do that too

too much stress,

and athleticism involved

Quite far from my thing, just wandering around,

taking my time always and,

always changing plans by just how I feel

That is what my style has come into

Maybe it could be fun for a change sometime,

and do some kind of outdoor challenge,

but there´s no way it could be my preferred style of hiking

He had his food rations very strict of course,

4000cal per day, packed in separate bags per day

That was something.

He also told me he has paddled across the Atlantic

I asked him what´s next

he laughed at my question, but

he probably didn´t want to think of coming challenges yet

but after a while he did say, that

he´s going to paddle from

Costa Rica to Hawaii, on the Pacific Ocean

"yeah, okay!"

You never know who you´ll meet on these trips,

I sure would not thought when I saw an older man,

parking his ahkio (sled) in the front,

I never would´ve thought he´s a 1000km skier

and also, his pace is crazy

what´s most intriguing to me, is the motivation factor

you can train your physique to insane levels, but

but what´s the end motivation that drives you,

it must be something very personal,

even though he has sponsors,

a blog, a web site, he´s being interviewed on Spanish radio and,

he gets his food for free, sponsored,

but he must have a special inner motivation,

you just don´t spend nights in a tent at -30C (-22F) casually

you certainly need something to drive you

but very interesting still,

I also felt very comfortable about my own thing,

I like my own way best

and that´s most important of course,

to develop a way of life that works for you

Next we´ll pack up and head to Porttikoski,

it´s around 5-6km from here (3.1 to 3.7 miles)

There´s an open cabin too, and Porttikoski is

a rapid in Suomujoki river,

let´s go and see how it looks in winter time,

I would think it´s part frozen and part running water,

there´s quite a flow of water, and I want to see what´s it like in mid-winter

I packed my snowshoes and poles on the ahkio too,

because we´re continuing on a snowmobile track

I can just walk on the track, no problem

the temp is now at -17C (1.4 F)

quite crisp, but the sunshine is nice

It´s great to be out here, on the move

The scenery is awesome

My face is cold, yet my back is sweaty

That´s winter hiking!

I haven´t hiked in Lapland before in the winter,

but I´m of course very familiar with winter in Southern Finland

This is my first winter hike in very cold temps, and I want to play it safe

We could´ve gone further out to the wilderness, but

let´s do this trip a little safer, and

next time we´ll venture further into the big woods

There it is, behind the trees

Porttikoski open wilderness cabin

So we arrived at Porttikoski cabin site

It´s a great surrounding and

the woods are not dense here by any means

Very nice place

There´s the usual firewood shed and outhouse

a lot of great camping grounds here, but

I think I´m going into the cabin´s warmth

for the coming night too

here´s a fire ring but it´s covered in snow

The temperature is now at -15C (5F), but

the air is pinchy and it feels colder

Suomujoki river flows right by the cabin

there current is strong enough to keep it from freezing

The actual Porttikoski rapids is further up the river

we´ll go and see in a while, after having a bite to eat

Again, a snowmobile track seems to go that way

so it´ll be easy to reach the rapids

I´m taking my snowshoes and poles anyway

we´ll be going off the track for a view on the rapids

The Border Guard came to say hello (Russian border is close by)

Two guys came on snowmobiles riding fast

they stopped by me,

perhaps wondering why I have no gear with me out here

It also turned out I´ve come too far

the track is far from the river bank

I missed the rapids and passed them

I can´t hear any running water though,

I should hear the rapids from here

There it is Porttikoski bridge over the rapids

that´s a summer trail and bridge

this is often used to cross the river when coming from Lankojärvi

well, so much for the rapids, barely any current here

it´s frozen, and I sure wouldn´t think that

In the summer it´s a loud, roaring rapid here

I assumed it would be running now too

It´s completely covered in ice

The power of frost is crazy

This is so weird

as if the world somehow halted here

I expected a fierce, steaming current

but it´s halted completely

only a tiny sound of water running can be heard

The power of winter is great, it´ll quiet down even a place like this

So the Border Guard didn´t mention anything,

I told them I wanted to film the rapids

and I asked for a direction here

from where I met them

I guess they thought, that

another fool from the south here

I thought the rapids would be running loud

Maybe they let me discover

the facts myself

There´s nothing roaring over there!

only a tiny, funny bubbling water sound

I produced some good material for their christmas party or such

they can think back how that guy wanted to film rapids in the winter

the roaring rapids of Porttikoski!

Our trip to Porttikoski turned out a little tame, but

nice evening still

very good to be out with nothing to carry

Look at the awesome colors of the sunset

This trip provides a lot of good learning lessons

when it comes to hiking in harsh winter

One of the foremost being about snowshoes

about using them here

I´ve gotten snowshoes, because

they are small and light, easy to transport

on the bus, train, trunk of a car,

or a bike´s rack

with a piece of string, tie them unto a backpack

and easily have them where you want

you can´t transport long forest skis like that, no way

that´s why I don´t even own skis

it also comes down to

the fact that where I live,

winters can be mild and messed up

two years before this, you didn´t need skis or snowshoes at all

I´m reluctant to getting expensive gear for scarce use only

I have to think about it

what´s the smartest solution, if I want to do trips like these more

Snowshoes are just fine here, if

you mostly stay on the snowmobile tracks

but there´s a problem with the tracks

Three different type of people can use snowmobiles here -

the park rangers, the border guard and the reindeer herders

If I see a tracks that go out

I can´t possibly know where the tracks lead to

Not very smart to follow them and not know

I might find out by asking around, but

there´s just too many things to consider there

Anyways, the 75cm (30inches) of powder snow

is too much for snowshoes to handle

it doesn´t work with longer distance

My main concern now is, that

I won´t be able to get to the mountain tops,

because it´s too burdensome

to push through the snow

with the snowshoes

So this is what I´ve been thinking now

don´t know the best answer yet

Kiilopää ski center does rent skis

long forest skis too

so I might head out with rented skis next time

But there´s another con there

I´ve grown to think that I must know my gear very well

with rented gear I can´t really know them

not any first hand experience anyway

I´ve been quite strict about it,

that when I´m out there,

I´m carrying gear, that

I really know how they function

what pros and cons they have

Shelters are another thing I´ve been pondering

-30C (-22F) is pretty brutal for open shelters like hammock and a tarp

Of course I know that hammock are used in all weather,

even in colder temps than -30C,

but you need huge (down) insulation

a huge investment in gear

but I do want to be comfortable out here,

I wouldn´t want to suffer through the night

and just barely make it

I like being comfortable on hiking trips

these open cabins are great of course, but

these can be very crowded

I´m surprised how many people are here in winter too

Germans, French etc.

Small groups and individual hikers

Obviously, I can´t assume to have a cabin to myself,

but in the end I hope to get some peace and quiet here

A heated shelter could be awesome here,

a tipi or a hot tent perhaps

in a tipi I could make a small fire in a stove

that might be good over here

Here´s the sleeping gear that I have with me now

A Savotta tarp with reflectics (and a DD Tarp too)

This is a four season sleeping pad

I use this in a hammock or on the ground too

it´s a Thermarest Xtherm

it´s a very good ground pad

comfortable and warm

The sleeping bag is my trusty old Marmot 3-season bag

It´s meant for -9C only (15F)

not enough for these temps by any means

I also have my hammock and underquilt,

and I thought if I´ll sleep outside, I´ll

I´ll sleep on the pad, either in the hammock or on the ground,

and I thought I´ll use the down underquilt as a blanket on the sleeping bag

it would pretty much double the down loft

and hopefully be enough for the cold

I also have a merino wool liner bag

it´s good for protecting the sleeping bag from getting dirty

don´t have to wash or clean the sleeping bag itself

the wool is extra insulation too, of course

As a last resort, I´d have to wear more layers

it might get too tight inside the sleeping bag, but

this wool blend jacket is

what I have for an extra layer

the jacket and my wool trousers are a last resort

if the sleeping gear itself isn´t enough

Inside the cabins I haven´t had any problems

I´ve been sleeping very comfortably on the pad

and sleeping bag, even when the temp drops during the night

The day has gotten clearer, and it´s sunny now

a lot of light

I´m going to stay here for another night, and

start heading back tomorrow

Now that I have good time, I´ll get the axe and

open up the hole in the river ice, used for taking water

Someone has made the hole earlier, but it freezes again when not used frequently

On my fifth day here, I started to head back, and I was out for six days in total

It´s been a very different Lapland trip, compared to the previous ones

not least because it´s the first trip in winter time

and in quite harsh conditions too

For a solo hiker especially, it´s important to have respect

for the power of nature in the winter

With cold like this, it´s truly dangerous in case

something happened, that would leave you helpless outside

Usually I´m in my own shelter for the nights, but

this time I´ve been very grateful for the open cabins

It is really something, out there in the wilderness,

to have a cabin and a heating stove

with brutally cold weather outside

The open cabin tradition is a very Finnish thing,

it was started in late 16th century

open cabins can be found in other countries too, but

in Finland it´s on another level

in northern Finland alone, there are hundreds of open cabins

Going over the Raututunturi highland turned out a lot harder on the way back

Going in, it was very different situation

It was sunny and a clear blue sky

almost no wind at all

Now it´s snowing horizontally

Temperature is better now though, at around -12C (10F)

Quite harsh still

Ahead of me is probably the fifth climb

Now it´s good to have snowshoes,

almost perfect traction for going up

My face and hands are numb from the cold,

while my back and head are soaked from sweat

that´s just crazy

I´m getting cold so I should move on

My ahkio track gets covered in snow immediately

we´re coming somewhere from that white mess!

It´s been a very instructive trip overall

from here it´s good to start planning for future winter trips

Our journey ends here,

I want to thank all viewers,

we´ll see in the next one. Bye now!

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - REVIEW (PS4) - Duration: 9:37.

Releasing exclusively on PS4, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life marks the final chapter for series

protagonist Kiryu Kazuma, an ex-Yakuza chairman who keeps getting pulled back into the criminal

underworld of Tokyo, no matter how much he struggles to break free.

Despite this past, he's a kind soul with a heart of gold that would do anything to keep

harm from coming to those he loves, and impacts the lives of those he meets in a positive

way...even if sometimes it's begrudgingly so.

Coming off the heels of last year's Yakuza 0, a prequel to the series, and Yakuza Kiwami,

a remake of the first game, it's odd timing for us outside Japan to be receiving a game

that takes place over a decade after Kiwami.

Series veterans have undoubtedly been awaiting 6 with an intense fervor, while those who

jumped on board with 0 and Kiwami are probably trying to decide if they should play 2 through

5 first, or if it's fine to jump straight to 6 and catch up on the rest later.

Narratively speaking, the opening hours of 6 build heavily off of the ending of Yakuza

5.

The game does well enough of catching you up on where it left things for the main cast

(there are also text catch-ups on the main menu that give you a brief rundown of entries

1 through 5), but be warned that if you're coming in fresh, you are going to be seeing

a lot of characters that you don't know.

Many of them soon fade into the background to let the narrative focus on Kiryu and a

new supporting cast, however, with appearances from series mainstays sprinkled in here and

there, which makes 6 a surprisingly welcoming entry for those not already intimately acquainted.

The basic gist is that Kiryu's ward, Haruka, had a child and lies comatose following a

car accident during his most recent time behind bars.

This is the catalyst for him setting out to look after the baby while trying to find out

who the father is, while also looking for clues to make sure this car accident wasn't

an intentional attack.

From there, the series builds to its usual intrigue with double-crossing, power grabs,

and emotional gravitas that it's well known for.

6 introduces a lot of new supporting characters that have become some of my favorites in the

entire series.

The most I'll say here is that the story is definitely worth experiencing and one that

I quite enjoyed, but is not the peak of the series.

I would personally recommend newcomers catch up on older entries before playing 6 so that

the emotional payoffs are higher, but 6 tells a story intriguing enough to not necessitate

doing so.

For the uninitiated, Yakuza games are primarily 3D brawlers where you roam small, focused

city segments in between fights to either advance the main narrative, or to locate side

stories or optional extra content like an array of minigames.

Yakuza 6 in particular features a rework of things the series has slowly built upon over

time.

Take the combat system.

In recent entries, the fighting system branched out to allow multiple fighting styles, adding

a lot of variety and freedom to how you would approach battle.

This time, things have narrowed down to a singular combat style.

There are fewer Heat Moves, a signature of the series, that are flashy, over the top

special moves that require building up a meter in context-sensitive situations to use, such

as being near a vehicle to introduce its hood to a thug's face.

Not only are there fewer Heat Moves this go round, but they don't feel as satisfying as

they have in the past.

There are certainly some standouts, but I didn't feel as compelled to use them as I

often have.

Plenty of other intricate changes stand out too.

Characters and objects scattered around have a more complicated ragdoll system tied to

physics, so that they may react more realistically when you're throwing them around on the streets.

Which you'll probably be doing a lot of, as enemies like to swarm Kiryu and are more aggressive

than in the past.

In addition, enemies seem more likely to guard now.

In this new combat engine, an enemy's guard while break your combo entirely, as opposed

to the past where they would just endure it without taking damage, leaving your combo

uninterrupted and still managing to hit enemies who didn't have their guard up.

This ties back into grabbing and throwing enemies so often.

Due to your combos consistently being interrupted, it forces you to rely more on objects that

may or may not be lying around, or throwing enemies into each other to try to create some

time to focus on one particular target.

Even just having an enemy standing guard within your hit box during a combo cancels you out,

even if that enemy isn't the one you're primarily aiming for.

On top of that, Yakuza 6 lacks a lot of weapons that recent entries had, leaving combat feeling

less open than it has in quite some time for the series.

At this time I'd be remiss to not mention that the title runs at 30FPS on a base PS4,

which is hard to adjust to after 0 and Kiwami featured a fantastic feeling 60FPS.

In combat it remains largely stable, at least, though it does like to drop some while exploring

the city.

I'm being quite critical here, but only because brawling is a definite step back in Yakuza

6.

The fights are still decently challenging, and I really appreciated what the new physics

brought to them...but I'm certainly missing the way things used to be more than I was

hoping to.

The basic gist of how combat has been reworked with fewer options applies to the game at

large.

The Yakuza games have built up a vast array of minigames over the years, due to introducing

something like, say, bowling, then largely leaving the mechanics untouched through each

successive entry.

Yakuza 6 doesn't bring back many of the minigames featured in recent entries, like bowling,

but the ones it does bring back are reworked.

Karaoke is a much more satisfying experience now, slugging it out at the batting cages

is more involved, and talking to the hostesses at the club is slightly more open due to selecting

topics instead of just having the hostess talk at you.

The returning minigames are mostly better, and I'm happy to see them finally get updated.

It's hard not to miss mainstays like the large swath of gambling, bowling, billiards, UFO

catchers, arena tournaments and many others, however.

On a brighter note, the 80's SEGA arcade cabinets from 0 make a welcome return, and a couple

new additions were made by way of Puyo Puyo and Virtua Fighter 5's arcade mode . I really

value these neat pieces of SEGA's history being available to tinker with, and frankly,

I'll take as many ways to play OutRun on my PS4 as possible.

There are also entirely new minigames.

Including 3 spearfishing stages that feel very 90's SEGA that see you doing some ridiculous

fishing, a baseball team management simulator that occasionally lets you go up to bat to

help turn the tide of the game, text chatting with cam girls that made me laugh harder than

any game has in years, and more.

A large side story involving actual New Japan Pro Wrestlers is included, featuring a weird

sort of reverse tower-defense gameplay system that lets you create your own clan, and even

tackle online challenges and friend's clans.

I mostly got through this by spamming a couple particular dudes, but I also tapped into some

codes for special characters that have been distributed online so I had an advantage on

the usual difficulty curve this would have.

At the end of the day, this side story will largely be a special treat for those select

few who really dig Japan's wrestling scene.

Despite having fewer minigames than usual, there's still hours of content to enjoy in

the game.

To 6's credit, it was still managing to surprise me very late into the game.

There was an entire side subplot I found that has you visiting a bar and getting to know

its regulars and helping them out with life problems.

Nothing extravagant, but it's the kind of world building I love from Yakuza.

So all of these things combined put Yakuza 6 in a weird spot for me.

Narratively, it's the final chapter for a protagonist I love.

Meanwhile in other facets of the game, it feels like a new foundation to build from

going forward, lacking a fair chunk of what made experiences with this protagonist when

the story was on pause so memorable in the first place.

There's an oddity about the game's map that, I feel, sums up Yakuza 6 in general.

Kamurocho is the main setting of every Yakuza entry.

Players of the series have aged alongside this city district, experiencing it growing

and fleshing out more and more as time has passed.

Longtime players know Kamurocho like the back of their hand and enjoy seeing what's changed

since the last time they got to visit.

Yakuza 6, bizarrely, walls off the top of Kamurocho for no detailed reason, though presumably

it was time or budget in the game's development.

While they may look like just a few short streets at the top of the map, in a game area

as small as Kamurocho, the impact of their omission is felt.

Sure, what's there in the game is great, but undoubtedly players will find themselves wondering

why it wasn't included.

Most facets of Yakuza 6 left me feeling a similar way.

It's great and I was so excited to see how things had evolved, but I wish so much didn't

have to be sacrificed along the way.

Despite that conflict I'm facing and how critical this review is, I still really enjoyed my

time with Yakuza 6.

I found the main narrative to be gripping, and the side stories, from the goofy to the

serious were mostly worthwhile, based on the ones I experienced.

Of particular note are a few that put you in a suit to help promote a small fishing

town's newest mascot character.

It doesn't hurt either that the game is very pleasant visually, particularly at night when

the new lighting system gets to show off.

A nice touch that really helps the virtual tourism aspect is the new option to walk around

with a first person view, which really helps you appreciate all the finer details in the

cities.

I've never felt so engrossed exploring Kamurocho, and I've never felt so excited exploring a

new area in Yakuza as I did looking at Onomichi's various nooks and crannies with this first

person view.

Yakuza 6 isn't the strongest entry in the series, but it's still a very solid title

that is more than worth your time.

Thanks for watching, and be sure to keep an eye on GameXplain for all things gaming.

HP Omex X Compact Desktop & Windows Mixed Reality Headset: Unboxing & First Look | Digit.in - Duration: 6:52.

Hey guys this is Sameer for digit.in and I am joined with Hardik and if you

are watching this unboxing, it's actually we've gotten these products a little bit

in advance. But they are mixed reality headsets and Hardik has already

prematurely opened that box only from the top before. I actually yeah I wanted

to see what was inside. Yeah so why don't you tell them what's inside that because you

already know it right? Yeah so this is the Omen Compact and this is the headset.

So why don't we actually unbox one at a time. So let's start with the headset.

Yes! Mixed reality headsets are something that we have experienced at a

couple of events. They are finally launching in India. There is no price

that has actually been revealed to us yet and the packaging is actually pretty

compact. It's just two boxes literally just two boxes. Okay so here are the

controllers. Wow! Oh these are the controllers? Yeah that'll probably this

will probably be the headset then. Oh it's actually written on the box is it?

Is it? So Windows mixed reality headset and that one says The

Controllers. Wow this packaging is actually pretty compact. So setting it up

should actually not be a problem. Unfortunately we can't show you the

complete setup because this is with us for a limited amount of time. But what we

can tell you is that literally this is it. It has a wheel to tighten and get a

little loose, something that's very reminiscent of what we have seen on the

PlayStation VR. It's like taking a leaf from the PlayStation VR headset and as

you can see it actually kinda, you know, comes up and back down and has quite a

compact fit. I have experienced a bunch of them. Lenovo one and Acer one. But

never the HP one. And I can say that it's pretty much the same. Yeah what you see

in the the HTC Vive and HTC Vive has a more a heavier set of controllers. But

these are smaller, is lighter and these have in and out. So all the

dots you see here, these are all for the recognization where the controller is in

real time space. Yeah also another one of the really cool things about this is

that because of the dots on the controller it's actually a relatively

light controller. It's got like a joystick on the top, a

d-pad next to it, a windows button, a menu button and just a single trigger.

And the recognition all happens from the camera that's in the front out here. So

you really don't need to setup like with the PlayStation VR with a separate camera

or like the HTC Vive room scaling sensors. It's literally plug and play.

Plug this into a PC and speaking of the PC why don't we get the PC and check it

out. So this is the Omen. This is the omen X Compact. This is a small desktop which

can be kept on the table itself and there's a backpack inside in

the box. So you can plug it around, put the VR Headset in and put this desktop on your

back and play on VR. Wow this is compact. It is heavy no doubt. Is this the CPU?

Yeah this is the whole machine. This is the entire thing. This is a whole machine. This

has a GTX 1080 inside, 1TB of hard drive and a 7820

HK desktop-class processor. So this doesn't have a brick in itself

because the brick is there. You can put it on this stand on the table

right there. It is essentially the power brick. We have to power it. So this right here,

this is dockable and that's essentially the PC. Yeah that's

essentially the PC. So just to show you guys how slim it is this is essentially

if I'm not mistaken this unit itself is a lot slimmer than any current

generation consoles. So basically this is the PC. This is just, just to let you know ,on the

desktop unit. So just to be more clear with everyone who's watching

this is not an external graphics card like we've seen on thin and light

laptops. This is not giving any external boost or power to the machine. There's

nothing like just a docking station with the only addition being two USB ports on

one side and a host of other display ports, HDMI ports, more USB ports and

Ethernet port. Just more ports on the other sides which is giving more

connectivity than anything else. Yeah and this is a power brick. Plug it

in pocket and that's it everything all the keys all the USB ports I have is an

eject button here so you don't you know I can only take it

out and there's a whole is set up for the back so at the back we have

consuming log our three USB 3.0 ports DisplayPort and HDMI port an Ethernet

jack there's a power port although there are two publics so there are two power

in power bricks and one connects to move the PC for the CPU and one is the one

GPU okay so we will get you our in-depth look at everything so now here's another

very cool thing is the backpack in which this essentially fits but if you are

going to be playing games in the virtual world then you will need a backpack to

have a little bit more freedom per se so you can actually just move around

although the cable that comes with the mixed reality headset is fairly long so

you really don't need to worry your other cables in the box itself

okay there are more cables in the box which you guys can probably see on your

screen right now so harvick I know they've given this us pre-launch and we

have experienced mixed reality headset and I can tell you that between the HTC

wife the oculus rift the PlayStation VR and the dead connect which was a motion

sensor only but between all of them mixed reality is by far the most

accurate I have experienced so far see and in this office only Sameer has

experienced reality unfortunately more this is going to be the first time for

others but I have actually experienced it I can tell you it is extremely

accurate and a lot of fun and very immersive and I am shocked that

Microsoft is not getting these the mixed reality headset support to the Xbox one

X which it would just be brilliant to come to the PlayStation VR experience HP

I think only has been able to yeah but they have Lenovo is there a sir is there

Dell HP there are about six companies there are companies making make sure

they have so exciting it absolutely so there you have it guys we are going to

show you a glimpse of putting or the the CPU into this backpack and what it looks

like and we will get you the price or you might be able to see the price and

some launch details in the descriptor because we are actually seeing this

pre-launch we don't know the price of this beautiful and slim CP I actually

really like it I really like yeah and the windows mixed reality had said we

don't know the pricing as I'm unboxing this but if it is competitively priced

we think it could definitely a great steel deal thank you so much

guys for joining us and for more videos like this one you can subscribe to our

channel we will catch you in another video and if you want us to do something

specific with the mixed reality headset let us know and we will try to get you

that video it's good bye for now

Wolf - Animating Stand Idle Game Animation (3ds Max CAT Tutorial) - Duration: 13:16.

Hey, fellow animators, I'm Miloš Černý and today we are going create a simple idle animation

for this low poly wolf model.

If you are going to make a game character, you will always need some idle standing animation of him

just breathing or doing some small movements.

So let's try and make one.

This is a low poly wolf model, which is available to download for my Patreon supporters.

As I said before, I will occasionally release some characters exclusively just for my Patreon supporters.

To give them some benefits and express my appreciation and gratitude.

Also I recently updated my 3ds Max to 2018 version

for different reasons.

I still haven't fully tested if everything regarding CAT works fine in this version

but so far it seems ok.

From now on, videos will most likely in version 2018.

But let's get to the animation and of course, let's start with creating an animation layer.

Name it stand_idle for example and create what will be our default pose.

I want it to look a bit more aggressive so let's change it's overall stance.

Legs as well.

Offset the pelvis a bit and generally try to break the default alignment of the bones

so they don't look so ... well ... aligned.

Try to look at everything and address each bone which could make a difference.

Keep in mind that if this would be actual playable character, the player would spend

quite a lot of time in this pose so the additional effort usually pays off.

Ok, when you are satisfied with the pose, create another layer.

This time the Adjustment Layer.

And name it breathing.

If you want to learn more about layers and what are the differences between absolute

and adjustment ones, take a look at my previous videos.

I have a seperate one for each layer type.

In this video, you will see that I will do all the animations in the Adjustment Layers

and the stand_idle Absolute one, will have just the initial pose.

No animation.

You don't have to do it like me.

You can animate everything into that one absolute layer and it will be fine.

The reason why I am doing it like this is, I like to have the movements separated

so I can reuse them in different animations if I decide to.

Now this breathing layer will be completely separated and I could use it again in any

future animation if I wanted to.

Maybe I will not, but I have that option at least.

Alright, so what we want to do is to animate Pelvis, Chest, Neck and Head

to seem like the wolf is breathing.

You can not actually scale the bones you should just rotate or move them, so we have to fake it a bit.

I have decided that I will try 120 frame long loop and it will have two loops in it

for possible variations.

So I am keying the bones at frame 0, 60 and 120.

Now at frame 30 let's animate some movement for pelvis and chest.

After that, copy the frame 30 to frame 90, because they will be the same for now.

You can see the animation is not great but it is a start.

I changed chest a bit so it's not moving that much.

Now again at frame 30 animate neck a bit.

And copy it to frame 90 again.

We are slowly getting there.

Select all the bones and open up curve editor.

Make sure you have all axis selected and loop all of them.

This will allow us to offset the bones but still keep the animation loopable in those

120 frames.

So offset the neck bones by 5 frames for example.

And you can probably see that it is miles better.

With just this simple offset.

Offset pelvis a bit as well.

And again you can see the animation completely changed.

I decided it's a bit too exaggerated so I am going to tune it down a little.

You can do that with "Scale Values" button.

Which displays this yellow line.

That is our reference point for scaling.

Align it to be somewhere in the middle of our keys and scale those values down.

Ok, I am fine with this for now.

We can add some more details.

Jaw can be animated as well for example.

Don't forget to set it to loop.

Even when we are not offsetting the bone, the reason why we set all the bones to loop

is for the reuse purpose.

If we use this breathing layer later on, in an animation which is not 120 frames long

it will still play infinitely and not just these 120 frames.

Now to the tail.

First we want it to go from side to side.

This is too slow, let's speed it up with scaling the keys and adding additional loop.

There is a slight glitch in the end of the animation and that's because of the looping.

When we open up curve editor we can see the curve is not continuous at the first and the last frame.

We can easily fix this by setting the keys to linear type.

What we can do now is to scale each bone to rotate a bit more.

So that would be the left and right movement.

Now add a little movement up and down for frames 15 and 45.

And copy them to the second loop.

Last axis is the twist, so add some small twisting to all the bones.

And with this done, again the most important part, offseting the bones from each other.

Fix some small issues if you see anything.

And simple breathing animation is done.

Now let's continue with animating actual idle animation

which would play if the player stayed inactive at the same place for longer time.

Some looking around for example.

Copy the layers, which means this new animation will be separated from the one we just did

and rename it.

I have just added number one to the name which is my naming convention.

We could have more idle animations later on, named stand_idle_2, 3, 4 and so on.

And stand_idle without a number will be our base stand with just breathing.

Ok so I created another Adjustment Layer where I will add the looking around part.

The breathing layer we did has 60 frame long breathing loops so now I can just adjust the

timeline to 180 frames and it will stay looped.

Now let's do the head animation.

I am not going to comment this too much, you can watch what I am doing.

It's just simple animation on one axis, looking left and right.

Now I am adding a bit of an overshoot so it's not that linear and adjusting timing a bit.

Ok, this seems fine.

Again offset the bones from each other.

I again added new Adjustment Layer for eye blinking.

And yet another Layer, for ears this time.

The last Layer I did is for eye movements.

I know you might not be sure why I am separating everything to layers, I get that.

As I said, you could actually do everything in one absolute layer, which is fine.

However, now if I decide to reuse eye blinks for example, I can do that just by copying the layer.

Yes the animation of the blinking is so simple that I could just animate it again and it

would take me just few more seconds, but let's say you animated some general tail fling

or something more complicated.

You could reuse that same tail animation for walking for example, or some different purpose

completely, I don't know.

If it is separated in Adjustment layer, it doesn't matter if you have other animation

of tail beneath it like that breathing loop for example.

It would play on top of it.

So, there you have it.

Simple idle animation of a wolf.

If you would like to see more stuff like this, support me on Patreon or with any other way

you would prefer.

With Patreon you can now also download this wolf model and try to do the animations by yourself.

And as always, share, comment and like, and enjoy.

Thank You.
