Waching daily Mar 8 2018

- [Michael Stelzner] Are you willing to get sweaty, get dirty,

trip, make mistakes, fall? Have people not like you?

Sometimes not like people?

If you are, then you're ready to do something like The Journey.

If not, you can just sit back and enjoy this show.

(PROMO INTRO MUSIC)

Do you see that mountain right there?

The Journey shows a guy with a

backpack on, climbing the mountain.

Now let me just tell you,

climbing the mountain is never as easy as it seems.

And a lot of times it may seem like you're going away from your goal,

but in reality, what's happening is you're getting your feet,

and you're getting your muscles ready, for the ultimate ascent.

And the one thing that I've learned,

through this entire season of The Journey, is that it's hard work.

It's not easy to accomplish what we set forward.

There were a lot of challenges that we faced along the way.

Anybody who tells you that accomplishing,

what we've attempted to accomplish is easy,

hasn't probably done it.

Hey Kim.

- [Kim Reynolds] How are you?

- [Jen Ballard] Hi. - Good, how are you?

- Good.

- On location sales for

Social Media Marketing World 2019.

Last year, we actually crushed it on sales,

on almost every platform except on Facebook.

We've got hardly any sales at all and I know I'm asking you,

to dust off some old archives here but,

have you learned some things,

with all the crazy stuff we've been doing,

to maybe help us figure out how to do some better Facebook ads,

to kind of get people motivated when they're on location?

- Instagram is, I think

going to be much more important

this year than it was even last year.

- Can we do story ads?

- Of course yeah.

- That's something we've never done before.

So I want to give the challenge to you.

I want you to bring in a hundred ticket sales over Facebook ads.

That's 10% of goal.

- [Kim] OK. - I think that's totally reasonable don't you?

'Cause this is the easiest audience to sell to period.

- [Kim] Great. No, I agree. - [Jen] Yeah.

- We could have Mitch record a cool little video of me talking.

We could also have Jeff create an animation.

We could do a bunch of photographical,

you know, of super excited people from Social Media Market World,

- Yeah.

- Like with they're going nuts, you know?

- Yeah.

I think we got to go crazy with this.

Are you up for the challenge?

- Of course. (LAUGHS)

- Good.

Happy early birthday. - Yes, Thank you.

- Aw, thank you. Thank you.

- Guess who else's birthday it is today?

- Yeah. Happy birthday Jen. - Yeah, She sent me a message.

- Did you sing to her Mike?

- Maybe I should sing to both of you.

- OK.

- Oh yeah. Let's go Mike. - We could all sing to each other.

- That is just not going to happen.

(LAUGHING)

- That's not gonna happen. At least not on camera.

- No.

- I will say happy birthday,

to my two best, favorite, female marketers,

that work for Social Media Examiner.

(LAUGHING)

- The only two, but whatever.

- Hey Gary. - [Gary] Hey. How's it going?

- Good.

- How are you?

So, what do we got here man?

- We have...

- The conference guide.

- A preview of the conference guide.

- Now this is just a digital proof,

or is this actually what it's gonna look like?

- This is a digital proof, but that's more like,

what the color's gonna look like.

- What do you think Jen?

- [Jen] Looks great.

- [Michael] Did you issues at all?

- [Gary] I haven't seen any issues in it yet.

- Process of actually doing this is very complicated.

How many versions did we do Gary?

- I would say we probably did about 15 versions.

- And how many different people were involved in the process?

- Yeah, I would probably say at least six.

- When I do podcast interviews, I always do a pre-interview,

with the guest to kind of negotiate the topic.

- Mr. Stelzner.

- Mr. Ducker. How are you man?

Uh oh, you froze dude. There you are.

You're back. - I'm back again. Don't worry.

It's just a little bit of a funky thing. It's crazy.

- I was gonna say.

With the exception of BB8 looking like he's made out of Legos.

- He is, he's made out of Legos.

- OK.

- That's exactly what he's made out of.

- Let's see the book.

Hold it up. - Here it is.

(READS TITLE)

- Let's talk about an angle that would work for my podcast audience.

- I believe you have to put more of you into your marketing.

(FUNKY MUSIC)

- Thank you man. I'm really looking forward to the interview.

- You know it man. it's gonna be great.

- It's February, and it's actually pretty nice out.

Notice I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

I come bearing gifts.

- Golly.

- Boy now your desk...

- I'm the trash collector here

by the way.

One of my many hats at Social Media...

- This goes to a good cause.

- Yes I know it does.

- First of all, it fuels me so I can actually do my job.

Right. - And it goes to our pre-school.

- There you go.

- I'm the blue trash can here.

The recycle bin.

- I've been working on my keynote presentation,

and I'm going to actually do an experimental delivery,

The first time I've delivered it to a human today.

I've got to do it about 10 or 15 more times to perfect it.

Your video. That's a good thing.

That's exactly the kind of thing that they want.

And here I am, making a plea to everyone who's watched,

a certain percentage of the video to,

join us at Social Media Marketing World.

Instead of going back to the 50's, and to 1999,

let's instead go back to the year 2009.

(ELECTRONIC MUSIC)

- So we're at the end now, and it's really exciting.

It's been a long road.

You know, we've been working on this for, like 9 months.

Here we are a week away.

- This has been the craziest year ever.

- Something that surprised me, actually was that,

we've done so strongly at the end.

- Probably one of the biggest takeaways that I have is,

One, if you're working with affiliates,

start early and go big.

- We learned one of our key messaging points.

The networking portion of it,

which we've always had as a primary focus,

really didn't convert that much.

The other thing that I learned during this whole process is,

you get a lot of advice if they're out there in social media,

especially about Facebook ads.

You hear people saying, "Oh, video, video, video."

and I'm sure that video is great in a lot of situations.

But for our audience, still photos work better.

Always be testing, and just do what works for you.

It's so rewarding to see, kind of the fruits of our labor,

when it's actually time to attend Social Media Marketing World.

So I can't wait, and I'll see you all there.

Bye.

- Come up a little closer.

You see this grey hair right here?

It's unfortunately a lot more grayer,

than it was before I started The Journey.

This has been one of the most intense seasons ever,

in my professional career.

When I started The Journey, I had no idea,

whether there would be enough of an incentive,

for people who want to stick around and watch the show.

I could have never predicted that,

Mark Zuckerberg was gonna change everything,

right at the end of our show.

And what kind of crazy drama it would have created,

for us here at Social Media Examiner and also,

how that all played out, as part of the story.

I'm excited to sit back and binge-watch this whole thing,

when it's all over with.

After today's episode, you are going to experience,

Social Media Marketing World -

the next couple of episodes, will be us there.

I'm super excited to be able to show you, behind the scenes,

of how we do what we do at the conference.

So we'll catch you, next episode.

Judgment to Curiosity, Won't You Try? - Duration: 6:03.

Hi everyone Justine Froelker here and it's Therapy Thursday and I wasn't gonna

do one today and then I got an idea so here we go what if the very thing

you're being super judgmental and resistant of and fighting is the very

thing that you might need let's jump right in

alright so I had that thought today my career is full of things that people

fight and they don't necessarily want to do, they yearn for it though, they want it,

they talk to people who have done work with me before they meet me and talk to

me and they want what I have and yet when I keep telling you about the things

that you can do to get more happiness and health in your life you say she's

crazy she's a lot of time um she's such a weirdo like there's no way that that

works that wouldn't work for me I that's not just that's just not possible like

you come up with all of these excuses and so I had that thought this morning I

was not gonna do a Therapy Thursday this week I'm just kind of really giving

myself some grace on when I need to put one out and when the idea strikes me and

of course this morning after I did some yoga I had this idea so I want you to

think about those things that you find yourself having resistance to those

things that you find yourself judging pretty harshly that other people are

doing whether or not that be meditation or self-care or yoga or Christ and Jesus

and prayer and faith and church or Plexus or another network marketing

company or the Brene Brown work and talking about shame and things like that

like all of these different things addiction recovery

I mean communication boundaries like all of these things that I that have changed

my life that I teach to you I know that there's part of you and there's a

significant part of my audience that's not I'm gonna watch this because they

judge me so harshly on what I am doing like oh my gosh there's no way that

Plexus could work what a weirdo she's crazy she's like totally

brainwashed it's a cult or like you say that about my church like you say like

why bad things happen to good people all the time there's no such thing as a

loving God who is this Christ thing that's so

magical whatever it might be shame I don't have shame do we really

need to review that so rather than sitting in that place of judgment or

that's not for me or that would never work or I don't need that what if

instead you felt that angst that you feel remember the head the heart the

stomach that you get like you get riled up when people share some of this stuff

with you what if instead of attaching to the judgment part you chose to get

curious about it I mean it's totally some of the Rising Strong work that I do

like we feel emotional angst we get emotionally hooked and we choose to get

curious about it so that we don't offload it I'm asking you this week to

get curious about what you are judging people on in regards to like what

they're doing to improve their lives what's that judgment about is it that

you think that they're crazy is it think that is it that you think you don't need

it are you really that happy and healthy that you don't need to grow anymore what

if instead you got curious and you researched it a little bit you ask them

questions about what they're doing you like I don't know about this thing that

you're doing but could you tell me more about it because it does seem to be

working for you I'm not sure about it like but can you tell me more about how

it's changed your life and then even better what if you tried it I mean I I

can't tell you how many years I fought meditation or yoga or affirmations hello

I'm like feeling and looking the best ever because I'm in super diligent on my

affirmations I fought 34 years of Jesus and I explored it I gave myself

permission to get curious about it which doesn't mean that you're gonna

necessarily have to do it every day but what if you did get curious about it and

tried it just to see if it helped you feel a little happier and healthier you

got to give it a fair shot though like none of this stuff works overnight none

of it talking about shame, boundaries, communication, meditation, yoga, Plexus,

therapy, I mean none of it works overnight we have a lifetime of baggage

that we're working through what if instead of judging me on all my tools

that I'm trying to teach you on and saying it doesn't apply to you or I'm

too crazy or I must have a ton of time or I have been drinking the kool-aid or

whatever it might be what if it said you got curious and tried it what if you

were that person alright thanks for being here I'll see you tomorrow for

Faith Wrestle Friday and don't forget to like this video and please share it with

people and don't forget to subscribe to my channel and of course hit

notifications if you never want to miss a Take Care Tuesday Therapy Thursday or

Faith Wrestle Friday make sure to follow on the Facebook platform too because I

do a live teach most weeks there too so thanks for being here

and I would love to hear I'd love to hear in the comments below thanks

7 Sneakers Recommended For Students - Duration: 8:40.

Hi guys, it's Kyung-Ah from Ryu's Penna

Today, I'm going to recommend some sneakers for the new semester

you can wear them easily, and they also look good on school uniforms

Shall we take a look?

The first one Is, Ta Da~

This one is from Puma

As you can see, the enamel is very glossy

And the shoelaces!

The laces are knitted

Tada~ you can change them into satin laces

The knitted laces have a warm feel

And the satin ones can be useful for all 4 seasons

you might think enamel difficultly

But, this one's black, and and the enamel isn't so strong

Since school uniforms are boring, these could be nice for a point

And since they look pretty on daily looks also, they are really nice

If you see the laces, the ends are gold

And the knitted laces' ends are also gold

The logo on the side's point color is also gold

So, I recommend this black sneaker if you like gold, more than silver

The next one is, Ta da~

This one is a really basic Converse styled one, that can be matched anywhere

But, it's not from Converse, it's from a brand called Bata Bullets

It has this kind of detail on the front

It's not just even to the end, it has bumpy points on the front

So, it has a cuter feel, and it's unique than Converse's sneakers

This kind of black and white match looks good on everywhere

So, I think this one's nice

The next is, Ta da~

This is really from Converse

This one's all white

It's an all white Converse!

If you see it, the insides are fluorescent

So, you might have to know this point alone

The color doesn't show out at all, if you wear it LOL

It's all white, but it has an off white point

This makes this a basic white sneaker, that's not too bold

Also, this point part is made of suede

It's different than the other parts

It's normal to match and also a bit unique, at the same time

It's a warm kind of white, rather than a cold one

So, it'll look good on brown kinds of school uniforms

Next is~

This one also looks good with brown types of clothes

The reason that I'm recommending three kinds of Converse sneakers is

That they really look good on school uniforms

So, this one is another Converse

This one's made with dark colors of leather

If you see the front, its' detail is like the Jack Purcell, that was the trend

This detail is normal these days, and many basic sneakers have this detail

If you see the laces, they are angulate

This detail might be uncomfortable for people, who can't tie them well

Since the laces are angulate and leather

It has the warm feeling of brown, and also has some chicness

So, if you want to give a chic feeling or some clean look on brown school uniforms, this one will do it

And the next is, Ta da~

This one's from Skechers

I really wear this often

This one's design is the 'ugly shoes' design, that's on trend these days

The comfortable point of this is

That since its' size is launched big, the feet are really comfortable

It's easy to wear and take off

This is easy to match on any looks, such as school uniforms, or just clothes for walking around the neighborhood

I really use this item daily

Actually, as I spoke ago

Ugly shoes keep coming out from premium brands

But honestly, students can't buy them easily

So, if you're finding cheaper ugly shoes, this is it

This kind of shoes might make your feet look big

But, they can make your legs look thinner at the same time

That might be the reason that I like these more

I have a complex on my legs

well, I really recommend this one!

Next, Ta da~

I bought this recently

It's from Descente

This kind of color for the rubber floor seems to be the trend

This style comes out much from Reebok or Descente and other brands

The reason I chose Descente among them

Is the navy color logo detail was very nice

The navy point and the yellow brown floor's match is nice

I suggested an all white shoe for brown types of school uniforms

Since this one has a navy point, it'll look good on navy or gray types of school uniforms

But, since this is thin leather, wrinkles come up

My foot is wide, so I chose the right size, but it has wrinkles as the shape of my foot

But, it's not a problem actually, it's not uncomfortable

But, if you don't like wrinkles, you should choose one size bigger

It'll look good on school uniforms and amekazi styles that are in trend these days

This looks good on ordinary casual styles, so it's useful for daily looks

The last one is~ Ta da~

The Air Force line from Nike

The Air force line is a basic line, and I even wore these 10 years ago

That means that it's that much useful

The white one is pretty, but it gets dirtier than other shoes

So, I personally recommend the black one

It's a real basic line

So, It'll look good on school uniforms or simply everywhere

And the character of the Nike Air Force is

This silver detail on the front

This would make it look better on cold tone school uniforms

you can compare it with the Skechers' one

It's the same black sneakers, but if you want ugly shoes style, Skechers is better

And if you want clean and basic, Nike is for you

you can choose among the different designs, although they are the same black

personally, if you like a normal style that looks good anywhere, the Converse styles are better

If you want to look trendy and unique, but you don't want to show out too much

personally, these two

And this kind of sneakers will be recommended from me

well, you've seen the easy and pretty shoes recommendation clip

If it was fun or useful, ♥♥♥click the like and subscribe on the bottom♥♥♥

See ya in the next clip

Bye~

Go ahead and complete your university studies,

then get married right away.

Or go for some more studies, work for a couple of years,

then get married.

Or complete your university studies,

work till you achieve the highest degrees of success

and never get married.

All of these options matter the least..

What's important is to make your own choice,

and achieve the balance between your dreams & reality,

your femininity & career aspirations and finally,

your private & work-life.

So, even if you gave birth right after the completion of your university studies,

and never spent a day working.

Your education will definitely be useful when you're raising your children & teaching them,

on a condition that you're present in their life,

and never leave them in the hands of the nannies and housekeepers.

To be an informed and educated wife and mom,

is a good and wanted thing,

and you shouldn't feel less important than the women who work.

Isn't the spreading ignorance all around our societies

a result of ignorant mothers.. and fathers too!

Some women did advance and succeed in their work

after their children grew up,

they gave birth early

and never cut out their education or self development.

And some other women achieved their professional success first,

then gave birth.

Everything is possible.

What's important,

is to have your own choice!

PERSIST | MOTIVATIONAL VIDEO 2018 | MORNING MOTIVATION - Duration: 21:54.

[Music]

there's a certain delusional quality

that all successful people have to have

you see all successful people have this

belief they have this understanding that

I'm gonna do something different then

has ever been done before they have this

idea that they're not gonna be told what

to do because they know where they're

going

you always hear this time and life be

realistic

well realism and success aren't on two

opposite ends of the spectrum there's

nothing more pitiful to my mind and the

person who wastes his life running for

one thing to another forever looking for

the pot of gold at the end of the

rainbow and never staying with one thing

long I have to find it no matter what

your goal may be perhaps the road to it

can be found in the very thing in which

you're now engaged

[Music]

you are where you are today in part

because of what you've been saying about

yourself words are like seeds when you

speak something out you give life to

what you're saying if you continue to

say it eventually that can become a

reality whether you realize it or not

you are prophesied your future this is

great when we're saying things like I'm

blessed I'm strong I will accomplish my

dreams I'm coming out of there

that's not just being positive you are

prophesying victory prophecy and success

prophesy new levels your life will move

in the direction of your words but too

many people go around papasan just the

opposite I never get any good friends

I'll never get back in shape business is

slow

I'll probably get laid on flu season is

here I always get it they don't realize

they are prophesy and defeat it's just

like they're calling in bad breaks

mediocrity lack

you are planting seeds when you talk at

some point you're going to eat that food

here oh you guys have what's called an

idiot crazy a loser you must break

society status quo sites status quo is

normality this it's alive but not living

its death Ilana stick guys the belief of

the individual can overcome thousands of

followers one person with the belief

overrides thousands of people with just

intent your life guys is not about

making money it's not about having the

titles it's not about having a hot

trophy wife

your life is about a moment to come it's

inevitable right now we have the most

valuable asset on earth on our side time

but it's running out and right now you

guys are sitting there and to make that

first step towards greatness is the

hardest step

there is one thing horror that my

friends its later in life as you look

back on your life the windows of

opportunity has closed your ability is

no longer present and you think back

that he could have been great

[Music]

right now you have the ability to never

had that debate inside your head that's

the debate you can never win you can go

back and forth back and look there's no

verdict the jury is always going to be

in a jury room it's never gonna come

back saying you did okay

what you will do is you will bury that

deep inside you won't tell anyone that

you could have been this you will be

second best to your true potential and

you live your life fine but then one of

your friends is going to succeed in some

endeavor and you're gonna hate him for

it because this is success in a

spotlight shining down on your missed

opportunity we all had the ability to do

anything those people in here far

superior than me but there's no win here

so we're harder than me whatever you

want to do whatever idea that you have

you are disintegrated if you're not

using your skills are diminishing

everyday and there goes there goes

another state and life is happening

right now what do they get your buck out

of the way

[Music]

I know I put anything what it takes to

withstand the pressure slap your

neighbors say you don't know what you

got

you don't know what you've got until all

hell breaks loose

you don't know what you can take until

the pressure is applied to your life you

don't know what you get endure in people

until people stab you in the back and

walk away from you you don't know how

much courage you have until you've

driven in the fire and I'm this struggle

and them the tribulation you can learn

what's in you sitting back in the lazy

boy chair hit the remote control

watching HBO and Cinemax but when all

hell breaks loose

that's what you get to see

what you got

[Music]

[Applause]

you want to make it in life he said

number one develop your mind you don't

get in life what you want you get in

life what you are number two develop

your communication skills

once you open your mouth you tell the

world who you are three practice the

principle of oqp only quality people let

us say together only quality people as

you think about your goals and dreams

this is not for everybody

you want to build an organization with

only quality people not people who need

more but people who want more you want

to surround yourself with people that

are hungry people that are hungry are

willing to do the things a day of us

won't do in order to have the things

tomorrow others won't have people that

are hungry do what they know not what

they feel see I didn't do this for years

because I knew it would be hard and mr.

Washington said something to me Mike

Williams my mentor you want to go online

and find his book the road to your best

stuff he said something that grabbed me

and I want you to put this someplace

where you can see it see you build this

business through persistence you got to

affirm I will persist until I succeed

you build it through patience it takes

time to grow orchids faster to grow

roses but orchids that takes time you

have to have persistence you have to

have patience and perseverance it takes

courage to come back again and again and

again because in order to build the

business it's hard work it's har D and H

EA R T are you with me there write this

down if you do what is easy

your life will be hard but if you do

what is hard your life will be easy in

what you've done with your life thus far

is it giving you what you want is it

giving you what you want when you look

to want the future when you look at all

of this going on out here is there some

place within yourself you say hey I know

I need to be out there in that arena I

know I can do more than what I've been

doing I know there's some great music

that I have within me that I haven't

brought out here is that something that

you begin to look at within yourself see

I say if you look at your life and if

you're not getting what you want you owe

it to yourself to do something

differently you are if you're on a job

85% they say of Americans go to jobs but

they're unhappy if you're doing

something eight hours a day that you

don't like it's not giving you what you

want it's not giving you a strong

feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment

you're miserable you hate to go there

you're depressed just thinking about it

you're saying they thank God it's Friday

song every week if that's what it is you

owe it to yourself to start

strategically working to change

directions see but you know what most

people will do most people will resist

change

most people will fight change as if

change would be worse than what they're

experiencing see they know this they're

familiar with this most people will not

challenge the unknown they won't just

step out there see they well see there

are certain things has got to be in

place they got to see it all together

and life isn't like that that's not how

you grow so as you look at your life you

say I'm not getting what I want

as you begin to look toward the future

begin to know that whatever it takes for

you to create that you've got that in

you you got that you've got genius in

you you've got goodness in you you've

got creativeness in you if you decide to

take the initiative the changed the

current quality of your life I say to

you that you will find that the universe

is on your side that life is on your

side now will it be turbulent yes would

it be easy no no will you have some

opposition yes will I make a lot of

mistakes yes will I get hurt

yes yes see a lot of people won't try

anything different like because they

don't want to get hurt let me tell you

something it's too much pain too doc

pain is everywhere you can hide under

here it will come where you are it's

everywhere Viktor Frankl caused an

unavoidable suffering you can't duck it

but most people spend their life not

wanting to deal with the pain of

rejection the pain of defeat the pain of

being disappointed the pain of losing

the pain of failure the pain of being

criticized the pain of not being liked

the pain the pain the pain that's called

life

life is full of pain it's everywhere but

that's what there's no game without pain

because it's the pain of regret that's

your experience if I had it to do over

again that's a pain don't you know

that's it when you know I was in a

seminar once and this ladies stood up if

I had my life to live over again she

talked about all of the things that she

would do and you can feel the pain of

regret of pain of regret

she still experienced pain she was

trying not to experience the pain of

defeat the pain of disappointment the

pain of loss the pain of lack of support

and she still experienced pain it was

right there we can't get around it most

people are governed by their habits the

fears and the opinions of others a lot

of people never try anything differently

because they have been convinced by

people in their lives that they value

that they can't do it they're living

within the context of the opinions that

other people have a bit the low

expectations many people who doubt

themselves because when they thought

about doing something at some critical

point in their life somebody they

respected and honored somebody they

believed in somebody that they loved

someone they trusted said you can't do

that and they accepted that

as you look at your life ask yourself

the question what would your life be

like what would your life look like if

you decided not to care what people

thought of you what would your life be

like if you decided to give up some of

your fears what would your life be like

if you decided to become courageous what

would your life be like if you decided

to act on your dream if you did what you

felt in your heart you know courageous

means a ton ruskin and Randy Reid said

they said that courage comes from a

French word which means of the heart

that how does it feel to you he says

such courage you know it takes courage

to live since most people go through

life not allowing themselves to step out

because they don't want to let go they

don't want to be blown around they don't

want to be moved the courage to face

life's whirling wind of contradictions

the courage to love yourself the courage

to love for years I was afraid to love

the courage to take a chance the courage

to be who you are

he says courage isn't for somebody else

for metals applause of all debts courage

is what at that moment feels most right

for you not just situational ethics but

what feels right in your heart the word

of the heart what feels right in your

heart

one great philosopher says cowards die

many times before their deaths

the valiant never taste of death but

once what does that mean the valiant

people aren't afraid no no no it means

that they experience that here and they

move forward and move forward any how

many people are dead not many people

allowing their dreams to die many people

applying the ideas to lie dormant and

collect dust

many people have all this

ability that they allowing to be

embarrassed out of them that they will

take with them to their graves because

they didn't have the courage to be who

they are and I say as you begin to look

to all the future and manifesting your

greatness it's going to take everything

in you everything in you that your life

deserves the concentrated effort to

begin to look at how is it that I can

express more of me how is it that I can

bring my ideas out here now how is it

and start living with a sense of urgency

because you're here today you're gone

today life is unpredictable it's

uncertain there's no guarantees no

guarantees out here at all so holding

back what are you waiting on ask

yourself what's the benefit of your

waiting what's the benefit of your not

living your dream what's the benefit of

not listening to yourself

oh please listen to yourself

you know the feelings that you start

listening to the feelings in your heart

and I'm doing it now more every day I

find that my feelings I can trust them

and I say to you that as you look toward

the future you look at life on a daily

basis if there's something that you have

been given if you've heard something

within yourself that you know that that

what you're doing now it doesn't fit for

you it doesn't work for you it's not

giving you what you want and there's

something else that you want to do don't

allow that inner doubt in you to talk

you out of it to build a case on why you

can't have it to tell you why you're not

good enough you ignore that inner voice

and all of the external voices don't

judge the possibilities for what you can

do based upon the circumstances because

the circumstances won't determine who

you are don't determine what you are

able to do based upon your resources

don't determine what's possible for you

based upon where your life is right now

where your life is right now is not you

that's just what it is right now but the

possibilities for you are unlimited if

you're in a rebuilding

it's unlimited if you're coming back

from adversity and devastation it's

unlimited of what you can do

that's the capacity of human beings it

doesn't matter how many mistakes you've

made

doesn't matter how many flops you've had

doesn't matter how much money you've

lost in fact I see it only as an

investment what you learned from life

not losses but investments of what's

possible for you and I say to you that

once you start listening to yourself and

as you begin to act on your dream as you

start just trying to find your way doing

what you can with what you have you will

start seeing things opening up for you

start attracting people you say where'd

it come from

things will start coming together

clicking for you say whoa you start

brainstorming ideas will come out of

nowhere as you focus on it the key to it

is to begin to focus on what it is you

want to do why less why is that

important because as you focus on that

which you want to do that which we focus

on that which we give our energy to it

will begin to multiply it will begin to

expand it will begin to develop your

consciousness and out of that comes your

greatness out of that comes a commitment

out of that comes a passion for life out

of that comes a special power that you

have in you that you haven't even called

on yet see the the powers that we have

will never reveal themselves if we don't

challenge them if we don't put ourselves

in a position where we have to use them

so one of the most important things is

reading a book that's a really

interesting book called instant

millionaire and the guy said put

yourself in a position where you can't

retreat where it's do-or-die sink or

swim

here's what you'll find out you'll

develop incredible swimming skills

you'll find yourself stroking unlike

you've ever seen before through the

inspiration of desperation you'll become

more creative than ever before so what

is it

we handle that whole piece throw your

whole self into it see most people go at

it tentatively they don't give all their

stuff they don't concentrate they don't

put everything they've got in them one

guy wrote a book thought all you can do

is all you can do and all you can do is

enough but he said make sure you do all

you can do and if we're honest this

evening we know that we haven't done all

we can do so as we look at the future we

can decide that from this day forward as

I look at my personal relationships if I

look at my professional relationships if

I look at my family relationships as I

look at all the dimensions of my life

looking at myself mentally emotionally

and spiritually I learn to do all I can

do to develop me to bring my talent out

here to make a contribution to life

you

Sacred Prostitutes - Duration: 19:12.

Sacred Prostitutes

"Cloud People" by Joe Ben

Mention the Sacred Whore to most people and you'll get raised eyebrows or disgusted grimaces.

Many of us believe that prostitution is all about money for street hookers, fame for Hollywood

starlets, or security for suburban housewifes.

Prophetic texts, rituals, and icons are called sacred, even particular mountains or rivers

are considered sacred, but whores?

Sexually empowered women are called bitches, dykes, ball-busters, etc., by both sexes.

Sexually independent women, once respected as sacred vessels of the Goddess, are degraded

as evil temptresses, obstacles between man and a sexless heaven.

One exception is the paradise of Islam, although it is a men-only club stocked full with re-virginating

nymphs; Islamic women are said to be soul-less.

Jungian psychologist Nancy Qualls-Corbett describes the Holy Whore as "a woman, who,

through ritual or psychological development, has come to know the spiritual side of her

sexuality, her true Eroticism, and lives this out according to her individual circumstances."

By this definition, a Sacred Prostitute uses sex as a means to God/dess and to enlightenment.

Fundamentalist Christians believe that the door to the kingdom of heaven is opened to

those re-born of fire and water.

Occult traditions such as Tantra, and magickal orders which esteem the Holy Whore, persuade

us to experience our divinity by immersing ourselves in the fires of sexual passion and

the baptismal waters of sexual ritual.

Sexuality becomes sacred when the Goddess residing in every women is honored.

The term "sacred whore" is not oxymoronic.

If we explore the etymology of the words "whore" or "harlot," we find that the split between

"priestess" and "prostitute" is a relatively recent one.

In her book When God Was A Woman, Merlin Stone informs us that the Hebrew word zonah means

both prostitute and prophetess.

Barbara Walker, in her Dictionary of Woman's Myths and Secrets, points out that the Hebrew

word hor means a cave, pit, or dark hole.

The Spanish word for whore, puta, derives from the Latin term for a well, but the Latin

term for grave, literally "a hole in the earth," is puticuli, meaning womb of rebirth.

These terms for whore were not derogatory.

The Latin term had its root in the Vedic, an early Sanskrit language, wherein the word

puta is defined as pure and holy.

The cave, the pit, the hole, and the bottomless black lake were metaphors for the Great Goddess,

She who is unnameable, that darkness primordial from which all life (light) is born.

She is the Everything and The Nothing -- Hole-y, Holy, Wholly.

The Sacred Whore at work was, in fact, the manifestation the Great Goddess.

Today these ideas are not completely lost.

The Hebrew folk dance named the hora, a tradition at Jewish weddings, is named after the circle

dances of the sacred harlots.

Such holy harlots were often "brides of God" similar to modern nuns, the "brides of Christ."

The holy harlots were set apart to give birth to Sons of God.

In other words, these women had the job of changing human-animal into human-god.

The separation into priestess and prostitute, or sacred and profane polarities, occurred

for western civilization when the early fathers of Christianity claimed power by abolishing

goddess worship and other nature-based pagan religions.

In actuality the bipartite woman, both whore and madonna, was a construct of the early

Papal Councils around 600 AD.

In the New Testament itself, there is nothing which proves that Magdalene was a repentent

prostitute; other texts suggest that she was a spiritual teacher in her own right.

(For more information about Mary Magdalene, check out Scandals, Intriques and Christianity.)

Vestal Virgins and Sex Magick Ishtar, the Great Whore of Babylon, was sometimes

called the Goddess Har since she was the mother of the Harlots.

These Harlots were not prostitutes as we know them, but priestesses, sorceresses, prophets,

and healers.

Sacred Whores were known sometimes as the Holy Virgins of Goddesses such as Ishtar,

Asherah, or Aphrodite.

The famous Vestal Virgins were thought to have practiced secret sex magical rites in

honor of the Roman Goddess Vesta, the same as the Greek goddess Hestia -- Goddess of

the Hearth, or "center of the world."

"Virgin" did not mean possessing an intact hymen.

A virgin was simply an unmarried woman, a woman who claimed ownership of herself.

Think of Athena, the maiden goddess who jumped off a cliff rather than submit to wedlock.

We see a similar story in the Hebraic tradition where Lilith, unwilling to subjugate herself

to Adam in the male-dominant missionary position, exiled herself from paradise in exchange for

her own sovereignty.

But Holy Whores weren't man-haters.

Their function was dispensing the grace of the God/Goddess through sexual worship by

sharing their bodies with worthy initiates and with each other.

The European idea of going into a womblike space -- cave, pit, hole, lake, or river -- in

order to attain a new life of spirit stems from the Neolithic period (approx.

15,000 b.c.e. - 5,000 b.c.e.).

During this time the common belief system deemed the main God/Goddess female.

Gods were primarily consorts for the Great Goddess or her sons, such as Horus and Jesus.

Reunite the polarities, put the Virgin Mary back together with Mary Magdalene and you

have a Holy Whore who is the mother of a man/god, or evolved man.

In the Beginning The Great Goddess was the All and her son

represented the self-realized human, male or female.

Women were thought to be able to access the power of the Goddess more easily because they

could more easily identify with Her.

In these early days, women were the mediators between the Goddess and the tribe.

Later the masculine force became imbalanced by the male need to overcompensate and relegate

women to a lower class.

Such imbalance may have been caused in part by men's fear of women's magic -- particularly

the ability to give birth, the blood, and her intuitive gifts.

Before science explained away the mystery, women seemed magical, almost frightening.

Women bled in sync with the phases of the moon.

They bled in sync with each other and, to the awe of men, did not die.

Women bore the babies and from their breasts flowed milk to sustain life.

While the men went out to hunt, women explored, gathered food, and gained knowledge of medicinal

herbs.

They were the healers who produced magical cures for snake bites.

Women were privy to divine wisdom.

The Delphic oracles listened to pythons, while Eve took the sage advice of a serpent.

Woman's "innate" ability to tune into the Goddess was facilitated by her knowledge of

herbs, including perhaps, psychoactive botanicals that produced visions.

When God was definitively female, women had the edge.

It was thought necessary for a man to go through a woman in order to achieve contact with the

Deity.

Male devotees of the Great Goddess would offer gifts, undergo painful or humiliating preparatory

rituals, wait years, fast, and give just about anything for the opportunity to be initiated

by a Sacred Whore.

In doing so, they attained the power of the Great Goddess, as well as the opportunity

to contact what some modern mages or witches refer to as the True Will, Higher Self, or

Holy Guardian Angel.

She of the Temple Tower

Priestesses devoted their lives and their bodies to the Goddess.

Herodotus wrote that Babylonian brides were required by law to prostitute themselves at

the temple for seven days prior to marriage in order to appease the Goddess, who disapproved

of monogamy.

Spending time as a holy whore blessed the maiden.

The profession also became a refuge for women who wished to keep claim of themselves and

their rights.

In Hellenic Greece, courtesans maintained a social status legally and politically equal

to men, while wives were reduced to servants.

The idea that a man needed a woman in order to attain apotheosis, or give birth to the

potential God/Goddess hidden within himself, still lives between the lines of many patriarchal

religious texts.

Crowley had his Scarlet Woman, Simon the Mage had his whore, and Jesus, Mary Magdalene.

In fact, Magdalene means "she of the the temple-tower."

Beauty/Beast Duality The patriarchal entity is a tyrant who feeds

on control, or "power over."

The Holy Whore is a manifestation of "power with, power shared, and power for all."

Think of the Strength card in Tarot: A woman holds the lion's mouth open.

In this image, woman has identified and taken control of her sexual and creative power,

symbolized by the lion.

Despite his unsavory reputation, Aleister Crowley was one of the first male occultists

to embrace the goddess.

Crowley switched the traditional order of Strength and Justice tarot cards and changed

the name of the Strength card to Lust.

Crowley wanted to give Lust (11) the same numerical value as the High Priestess (2),

which some Tarot scholars interpret as the holiest card in the deck.

Many other decks, including the popular feminist deck MotherPeace, have also incorporated this

numerical change.

In this Crowley acknowledged the power of the feminine Beauty/Beast.

The word lust is derived from the words luster or light, and originally meant "religious

joy."

Strength, Light, Lust, and Holiness were originally all one.

Crowley's Lust card depicts a rather zaftig and sexual woman -- the much-maligned Whore

of Babylon -- riding a multi-headed lion from the Bible's Book of Revelations.

In the commingling of beast (indicating our animal nature) and Babylon (indicating the

sexual force of the great tripartite goddess), a great power is realized.

In "Beauty and the Beast," the character Beauty can be seen as the Sacred Whore.

She has gone to live with the Beast to save the life of her father.

The Beast woos Beauty, painfully and pitifully.

Ashamed of his ugliness and his animalistic traits, he pines away, stepping towards death.

When Beauty sees beyond his mask, she sacrifices her ego and goes to him.

When she gives herself to him with a kiss, he is reborn as a gorgeous prince, symbolizing

the bliss of the union of Spirit and Nature.

This tale is saying that it is within our power to change the state of civilization

by the power of our sex.

This sentiment is echoed in Deena Metzger's poem, "The Women Who Slept with Men to Take

the War Out of Them."

The Goddess' way is power with, not the patriarchal power over.

Sex, Death and Transformation When fully self-realized, woman is the initiatrix

into higher rites of passage.

She is Mut, Great Mother of Death, and also Isis, whose love makes possible the higher

birth of Horus from the inert Osirus.

Astrologically speaking, this concept is reflected in the sign of Scorpio, which rules sex, death,

and transformation or initiation.

Sexual love can be a path to spiritual evolution.

Some occultists believe that sex combined with ritual creates the most powerful magic.

Love/Sex is also linked with death.

Renaissance poets called orgasm "the little death."

The Goddess is more than Mother and Whore, she is also the Crone, the Destroyer, the

Eater of Men.

This trifold goddess is akin to Hindu Goddess Kali.

Powerful Kali gives birth with one hand while squatting over her dead consort Shiva and

devouring his entrails with the other.

If we conquer our fear of the trifold Goddess' powers and embrace the natural sacredness

of sex and death, we can truly begin to understand the cycle of life.

Life Out of Balance Many believe that the world's chance of survival

is dependent on the reclamation of the female aspect of deity and its integration in the

minds of the people "en masse."

We will evolve in the images of the God/Goddess that we created.

The Sacred Prostitute represents energy, light, and expansive creative force.

The repression of this positive force puts society in crisis.

As poet/prophet William Blake writes, "Repressed energy breeds pestilence."

Our world becomes a place where violence has replaced creative sexual expression.

Consider that violence is accepted as common TV fare, while the sight of a women breastfeeding

her infant causes vehement outcries from the rightwing christian minority.

Our society's god-of-choice is miserable, grouchy, and usually on the verge of suicide.

Just watch the TV evangelists praying forArmageddon.

Their god only evinces the "restrictive" saturnine intellect and represents a degeneration, a

far fall from the original Father-Mother-Sister-Brother God/Goddess of Jewish paganism named YHVH.

The punishing grey-beard whom Blake deemed "Nobodaddy," has been severed from feminine

wisdom.

His children are stillborn, waiting in the ethers for the nourishing milk of their mother.

Violence against women increases as men who feel powerless resort to rape.

Millions of women deny themselves orgasmic pleasure because they are taught "good girls

don't" by a society that worships a bachelor god.

The new Yahweh is irritable and quick to call fun a sin.

Many men are stuck playing tough guy roles, and many women learn that submission and passivity

are their tickets to survival.

Two hundred years ago, the poet Percy Shelley, a maverick feminist and political activist,

asked, "Can man be free if woman be a slave?"

Anyone who has indulged in BDSM will tell you that both dominant and submissive roles

contain joys, but to play only one and never the other brings monotony, sadness, or dangerous

obsession.

Without the embodiment of the Sacred Whore in every woman, society twists itself dysfunctional.

Reclaiming Female Power Of course, women can't flock to temples and

set up camp as Holy Whores in this day and age without being arrested.

But a change in the way women see themselves, and in the way men see women, would be a start.

Every woman can invoke the Holy Whore into her life with pleasure.

The Sacred Prostitute is a woman who has reclaimed her Self and reconnected with her will.

Most importantly, she is a woman who has reclaimed the sacredness of her body.

First and foremost: Pay attention to what advertisers and the media, promoters of degenerate

cultural realities, are telling us.

Both women and men must learn to ignore the messages that women are "sick" with post-menstrual

syndrome (PMS0 or menstrual cramps two weeks out of every month, that our vaginas smell

bad, that we must wax pubis, douche, or use deodorized tampons if we are to be "clean."

It's hard to invoke the Goddess within if we believe our bodies are so flawed.

We need to honor the menstrual cycle.

We need to change the language associated with it, call it moon time or bleeding time,

instead of the vulgar "on the rag."

Don't blame your partner's moodiness on PMS; have sex instead -- wonderful messy sex.

Fertilize your plants with menstrual blood, an ancient magical fertilizer.

Question the programming that automatically labels sexual women "sluts."

Yahweh's obviously not happy alone on the mountain.

Our reclaiming of the sacred prostitute's spirit, humor, and sheer joy in the flesh

could help this pitiful modern God remember his Goddess's bountiful tit and make some

holy whoopie.

When the Goddess residing in every woman is honored, the paradox of sacred sexuality can

again manifest in our world.

The Goddess is as her people act: As above, so below.
