Waching daily Mar 8 2018

The world comprises of a lot of people.

Billions.

Each with their own individual set of thoughts, experiences, beliefs and motivations.

And with over half of the world's population now connected to the internet, our ability

to communicate with others has been extended on a revolutionary scale.

This in turn has increased our exposure to those who think, believe and act differently,

during which disagreement sometimes occurs.

… only sometimes though.

But have you ever found yourself in a discussion where

nothing constructive seems to be coming out of it?

Both sides get defensive?

Emotion and passion becomes increasingly dominant?

Or you start losing sight of why the discussion was held in the first place?

It seems quite common and there are many reasons why.

For one, body language and tone of voice accounts for the majority of our ability to communicate

a message to someone else and yet many try to debate complexed ideas on social media

platforms which cuts these elements out.

Online discourse often occurs between strangers who cannot see or hear each other

allowing for an empathy gap to form.

If you remove the feeling that you are speaking to an actual person it can lead to some behaving

in ways they would not have done if the conversation occurred face to face.

But even when we do speak in person, many of us believe that the whole point of discussion

is to "win" an argument.

Not only that, but being wrong is a showing of weakness and failure,

not of testing and enlightenment.

So next time you have a discussion with someone, why not try the following '7' suggestions

to help improve the environment for sharing and challenging ideas...

Number 1: Start with a human connection.

It's very easy to treat the other person as an opponent you want to attack, annihilate,

intellectually destroy, or to assume they have bad intent.

So why not try getting to know each other's backgrounds first?

What is it that brought you both to where you are today in the context of that discussion?

You may be pleasantly surprised by what you have in common.

Number 2: Identify three things you agree on.

No matter how trivial or irrelevant to the discussion it may be,

try talking about movies you like, or things in society you wish to see fixed?

Starting a debate with common ground can help massage those empathy muscles.

Number 3: Make clear that it's okay to say, "I don't know".

This phrase is normally seen as a weakness and it encourages people to steer the conversation

elsewhere or even make stuff up just to avoid embarrassment.

This is not helpful and so it should be made clear from the offset

that saying, "I don't know" is not a disqualifying phrase.

Number 4: Encourage self-critiques.

It's frustrating when people are unwilling to concede obvious points

out of fear of 'losing the debate'.

This can create an environment of intellectual dishonesty to thrive.

So why not make an opportunity for both participants to disclose criticisms of their own positions,

because after all no concept is perfect.

Number 5: Ask questions.

It's very easy for discussions to be about just making points at each other

where it seems people only listen to work out when it's their turn to speak.

Asking questions signals to the other person that they're being listened to.

It also helps us clarify positions that may have otherwise been misconstrued, as there's

nothing worse than having a conversation built upon misunderstandings.

Number 6: Avoid using labels where ever possible.

They can mean different things to different people regardless of what the official definition

may be for a particular one.

They can lead to generalisations and thus assumptions.

So stay clear, but if a label happens to get used, take a moment to unpack it.

Even though this will require spending a bit more time explaining your point

it will be more helpful in the long-run.

Number 7: Find common ground.

Towards the end of your discussion, identify areas of agreement

around the issues you have been debating.

Now this is not to say there cannot be fundamental disagreement.

Or that you must be on the same page at the very end.

These 7 tips don't guarantee that all future discussions will go smoothly with everyone

getting along, but they will help steer them in a more constructive direction.

At a time when there are so many people with so many things to say, it's important that

we do all we can to help open these conversations up, as opposed to shutting them down.

All right, so...

You sit here... All right? And then you look out the window... Like really angry...

And that's the scene, miss Lina.

Okay?

Okay.

Wait. You're out of Focus, you need to clap again.

Thank you very much :)

What are you doing? Why are you standing up?

Again.

F**k

Wait! You're not in focus!

Please! Can we continue!?

Okay... So... Look out the window... Very angry... Like... Like you're angry at someone...

Is that good? Is that fine?

I mean, I do have to say one thing about your make up...

No.

Why do girls wear make up, huh?

I mean...

Guys don't like make up, right?

You know what?

I. Don't. Care.

I don't care.

I DON'T CARE!

I don't care, because I'm a passionate person, and if I scare someone off... Well...

That's their loss!

As if I would go through all this effort just for a man!

Please...

Right?

I mean...

Don't care how to get a guy, and you know what? I think girls who watch... um...

"Follow these rules and he's gonna be obsessed with you!"

Ridiculous! That advice is stupid!

There are always two or more people involved in it, and they both want it... Usually...

I know I shouldn't talk about "it"...

"sex"

Mmm. I just...

...I like it... I'm sorry...

No!

I'm not sorry!

I'm just...

Not everything is about them!

I'm getting off topic here...

It's just so hard... You know? And everyone's just criticizing me!

You wanted to say something... I'm sorry...

Well I mean...

Just your lipstick is smeared...

Like... I mean if you want it that way...

No! Cut! CUT!!!

The Best VANILLA CUPCAKE and BUTTERCREAM FROSTING Recipe - Duration: 2:55.

hi everybody. it's Stephanie here. today I'm going to show you how I make my

vanilla cupcake recipe. the other day I took these cupcakes over to a friend's

house and they were raving over them so I thought they would share the recipe

here on my channel. let's begin with the dry ingredients. combine two and a half

cups of all-purpose flour, one cup of cake flour, one and one quarter teaspoons

of salt and two teaspoons of baking powder, and whisk those together. moving

on to the wet ingredients. combine one and a quarter cups of milk a quarter cup

+ three tablespoons of cream, and one tablespoon plus one teaspoon of a good

quality vanilla, and stir those together. next place one cup of softened unsalted

butter into a mixer add two and three quarter cups of granulated sugar, and mix

into a light and fluffy about one minute

moving on to the eggs. add the eggs one at a time

be sure to scrape down the bowl after each egg. after my eggs are fully

incorporated, it's time to add the flour mixture. you'll want to add a third of

the mixture and then add half the liquid

continue adding the dry and the liquid ingredients in intervals. be sure to keep

scraping down the sides of the bowl. line a baking tin with cupcake liners and

begin filling the liners 3/4 of the way full. this recipe will make about 24

cupcakes. bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or the

edges start to brown a little. allow the cupcakes to cool for around 5 minutes

and then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely. while the cupcakes

are cooling, let's prepare the buttercream frosting. mix two cups of

softened unsalted butter on medium speed in a mixer until smooth and creamy

slowly add 4 and 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and scrape down the sides of the

bowl as needed. next add a tablespoon of heavy cream, a tablespoon of vanilla

extract and a quarter teaspoon of salt. increase the speed and beat for about

three minutes. place the frosting into a piping bag fitted with a piping tip. I'm

using ateco number 809 but you can use any piping tip that you like. pipe

large dollops of frosting onto the cupcakes and then decorate with

sprinkles. we're all finished don't forget that you can find the recipe on

my website or down in the description box below. alright guys thank you for

watching see you next time

NIKE AIR MAX 98 "VIBRANT AIR" (CONE) REVIEW - Duration: 4:31.

Aren't you guys so as you see we have here the 98th Air Max comes they call them the vibrant

Also, the cone don't know which one

It is to be honest with you, but we got it for you, so let's get into this review

So this shoe drops in America at 7 a.m.

On sneakers after this Saturday the 10th the retail will be a hundred and eighty bucks is a little steep

I think but the materials are very very nice right so you have the ripstop nylon or mesh is what they call it

Then you also have this sway hits on the butt guard

You have orange purple

And you also have some yellow here on the swoosh with a teal colored rip stop material

So these are all around

Vibrant they remind me of like a Nickelodeon logo, I think

This is by far the craziest colorway that I think Nike has put out in a long time. Yeah for sure

It's uh like you said it has that that retro vibe to it, and I'm actually

Very surprised by the response of the people so we would like to hear your comments down below because I posted a photo of these

earlier today

Everybody's been like bro. I need those and I'm like

Yeah, it's definitely an interesting shoe so sneakers out they come out. I'm not sure about local

I'm sure some boutiques will get them, but the sneaker is at 7 a.m.

Pacific time so that'll be like 10 a.m.. On the East Coast

For us on the west coast 7 a.m.

So they are a quick strike so be on the lookout set your timer make sure you get up

6:58 you know what I'm saying. I have to sleep out your eyes. I've

59

Hit that button and try to cop these kicks

I think it's gonna be one of those nutrients letters for the year remember the vault era yeah, they had that going so

This is a it's adult shoe. I respect it. I love it for that but for me personally. It's not a cop. Yeah, so

The 98 is growing on me, so I see

The Gundam we did a review for that. I actually really liked that shoe before I wasn't really feeling it, but I do

Then there's a white and gold colorway

That's coming out later in the year, so I'm definitely gonna try to cop that for this shoe in particular

I'm not really a fan. I'm just not a fan of the colors

I'm more of a low-key type of guy, so I'm not gonna go for him

But I understand why people like these kids and also comment down below

Aromatics 97 or air max 98 s so great, which one. Do you like more me personally I liked 98 more

But both shoes they're still not fully stuck on me yet yeah, he's been a 93 he's been a 98 fan

And he said at the beginning of the year that he likes the 98 over the 97

I'm a witness to that so people are saying that the 98 is a better colorway

I think the general consensus because of that hype is that the 97 is better, but overall I think the 98 might be better

Bo I think I agree with that yeah every element of the sneaker is just it's dope to see so much going on and

One sneaker so many pieces put to this puzzle, and I think that's what makes it so much better than 97

Thank you, so a bunch of different materials bunch to pay is much different colors overall

It's not a cop for you, or I but we appreciate the shoot. Yes, so if you like this review, please subscribe

Like and please comment tell us what you think we honestly want to hear and we're engaging with everybody I mean every comment

Scrum Master: The Internal External - #WhyShaiWhy Episode 68 - Duration: 7:57.

Hey guys, welcome to #WhyShaiWhy Episode 68. Today I'm going to go on with what we

started last week, which is looking at the Scrum Master role specifically, and

some of the things that have been happening with the role over the last decade

or so. Today I want to talk about how the Scrum Master role is not really an

internal role for an organization and what that means for the attitudes and

aptitudes of the employee or the person undertaking the Scrum Master role. What

can you do to make it better? What can you do to get around some of the

challenges? Alright, so let's get into it. One of the most innocuous sentences in

the scrum guide is under the roles and responsibilities of the scrum master, and

it basically says, the Scrum Master's responsible for causing change in order

to make your team more productive. It seems quite innocuous but in reality

it's probably one of the most challenging things. The Scrum Master now

has to find change that's going to be beneficial, needs to plan for that change,

implement that change, track that change and make changes upon that change to

readjust into the place that they need to go to. How tough is that? That's pretty

bloody hard. So thinking about that, if you are in a Scrum Master role and if you

are in a place where you're about to place someone into a Scrum

Master role, find someone that's good with that change, good with communication,

good with the idea of being separated. And the reason why I think the idea of

separation is really important is because scrum masters tend to be the

sort of people that are labeled as the troublemakers, right? Because

they're going around the organization, they're finding things to fix. That's the

positive way to look about it. Most people will see it as going around the

organization and finding things that are broken. And people don't tend to

like negative people around them. So you need to have somebody that's going to be

able to handle that sort of role. Scrum Masters, often I get asked, why scrum

masters are a full-time role. And most people tend to think that it's not, and I

was in same boat until I started realizing the

organizational change impact of scrum masters is huge and you need a lot

of time for that. You need a lot of time, a lot of energy, a lot of focus to be

able to do that. The problem with the scrum master role as it is, is this.

Because it makes them quite hard to build relationships with teams.

They need to be the ultimate internal/external. They're an

internal employee but their mindset is like they're thinking about it from

externally. They need to overview the processes, the roles and responsibilities,

they need to overview everything that happens in an organization and be able

to drill down and fix particular spot fires. That skillset requires an aptitude

but more importantly requires an attitude that is really hard to find in

people and you need to draw them out. I had a colleague of mine said

very recently, "Scrum Masters should not collude," I thought that was really cool

now and to use because collusion sounds like there's something hinky going on.

But on the flip side, the collusion isn't necessarily what we're talking about

because with collusion, you seem to think that someone's gonna lose but when

it comes to scrum mastery one of the things that you're trying to do is to

have greater good, organizational betterment, right? Sure, there'll be one or

two individuals or teams that are not happy with the way that you're changing

things and that's cool, that's good but overall, organizational betterment is

your key. So you need to be in a place, in your mind, in your sense

that you can handle that. And to do that you need to stay arm's length away

and that is a really tough thing to do. So how do you, as a scrum master, as

someone that's looking at transitioning into scrum, how do you find the right

thing for your organization? Now I've got three tips. They don't work

across all organizations. All three won't work at once.

You need to experiment with each and see which one

works better. The first one is the obvious one, it's to actually bring in an

external. If a Scrum Master needs to act like an external contractor

or consultant, then one of the ways to do it is to make them an external

contractor a consultant. Now, there's a downside, in that they don't know your

domain but there's an upside, in that they have more experience than

most people would have with multiple teams. So if you're in a place where you

don't have headcount or budget for a full-time Scrum Master, you could

potentially bring someone in for part time or just casually, to teach

one of your employees locally how to enact that

role responsibly and to affect change. That's one option. If you do have the

headcount or you are specifically looking for an internal employee to take

on that role, I would ask if there's a way to somehow have the Scrum Master of

a team be external to another scrum team. Let me give you

an example. I was working with an organization a couple of years ago and

they had two relatively equal-sized offices, one in the north shore of Sydney

and one in the western suburbs of Sydney. And what we ended up doing was having

scrum teams across both offices, same organization. But what we

specifically decided to do was to have Scrum Master from site A be the Scrum

Master of a team at site B, and the Scrum Master of site B is the opposite.

What that allowed for was that idea of arm's length relationship because the

scrum master was not liaising, working with, colluding with the scrum team and

other stakeholders every day, day in and day out. What would happen is, those

relationships were a little bit more forced and there was a gap. And in that

gap, the Scrum Master was able to affect a lot of decent amount of change, without

too much of those troubles that you usually get when there's a lot of merge

between the scrum master and the team. One of the side effects of that, just as

a note, was that we were able to facilitate a really great communication

between the two offices which had never happened before. Because now, everyone in

in site A, had to know what was going on in site B. And everyone

in site B had to know what was happening in site A for them to be able to do that

Scrum Mastering across the two roles. So that's kind of a side, if you do go down

that path, you're gonna get both of those benefits. The last way to do this guys,

and not one of the better, might not be my favorite. I haven't really seen this done

well before, but you know, it's an option: is to have a roving Scrum Master, and

that's where you have someone in the team take the Scrum

Master role for one or two sprints so they can bring themselves out from that,

and try to act and think as a as an external, and then after a while because

that external thinking is quite hard, they still integrate back in, right? So

there's a positive there, because you you're giving the rest of the team an

opportunity to understand and learn Scrum Master role. But there's negatives

because you can't really show vision, right? You can't really get to a place where

there's consistency and so that kind of becomes a difficult thing as well.

Jeep Wrangler Vision X Tantrum LED Rock Light (1987-2018 YJ, TJ, JK) Review & Install - Duration: 6:12.

This is my review and installation of the Vision X Tantrum LED Rock Light Kit fitting

all 1987 and up Wranglers.

This kit is available in blue, red, green, white, amber, and a multi-color option.

So you have a few different choices there.

Today, we are gonna talk through the installation of this kit, which I am going to give a very

simple one out of three wrench install, if you intend to install these as the instructions

tell you to.

This whole installation is probably only going to take you around two hours, maybe even a

little bit less.

But we will talk more about the install in a second.

The main purpose of a rock light kit is to illuminate the undercarriage area of your

Jeep so that you and your spotter can see the terrain you are driving over during night

wheeling and can pick the best possible line.

Now, a lot of people are installing rock lights or undercarriage lights on their Jeep because

they think it looks cool at night when they're just parked in the parking lot or maybe after

they hit the trails, and are just hanging out at the trail head after dark with their

buddies, and that's okay, too.

Regardless of why you want to install a rock light, there are a couple of different kits

that are available.

This kit here is really more geared towards those who just like the look.

This is not specifically designed as a rock light kit as some of the other kits are.

This has a master controller, it has a remote, this has strobe and sequencing.

This will move the lights to the beat of music.

This kit is really designed more for those of you who are interested in installing this

kit for the looks, than those of you who would need to install a kit like this for wheeling

at night.

One nice thing about this kit is it does come with a total of eight different lights, each

of them with 15 LEDs in them, so you are getting a lot of lights, and each of them are going

to be pretty bright.

However, the light that's on them doesn't actually give as much diffusion as you might

think it did by looking at it.

These actually give you a big, pretty defined circle of light directly below where you put

them.

And again, depending on the look that you're going for, that may be a good thing, that

may be something that you're not as interested in, but that is a feature of these lights.

Some of these lights are going to have a 20-foot cord on them.

Some of them have a 10-foot cord on them.

They do have plugins on them, and they're all going to plug into this master block here.

This is not going to be weatherproof, so you are going to have to mount the block inside

the vehicle, somewhere that it is going to be away from the weather.

However, the lights themselves are weatherproof.

They're sealed up on the back here with an acrylic material to keep weather out.

However, the way that they're sealed doesn't look as substantial as some of the others

that you see on the market.

If you're gonna be putting it on a Jeep that you actually take out on the trail, you reel

it hard, you're going through puddles, even if you just wheel on the rocks, you have a

lot of vibration and a lot of bouncing, these probably aren't going to hold up quite as

well as some of the others on the market.

Into this master block, here you are going to plug in your master controller.

Again, it has an end that will plug directly in there.

Again, not weatherproof, so this is going to have to be inside the vehicle.

And on the other end here, you have your cigarette lighter, so this is truly a plug and play

job.

This does not require any wiring at all.

However, if you're gonna have something like this installed permanently in your vehicle,

I don't know that you always wanna have your cigarette lighter plugged up by this.

So, some of us would end up cutting that end off and hard wiring this in.

Here you have all of your controls for your lights from your sequencing to the speed of

the sequencing.

Your power ports and resets to go back to solid on.

And you can do all of that from this key fob here that has a little bit of an antennae

that pops up there.

It has an on, an off, a reset.

You can change your sequencing speed and your sensitivity all from your remote here as well.

So, this is going to be a very easy one out of three wrench install that you can get done

in about two hours.

Each of these lights does come with a small piece of 3M adhesive, so you can really just

stick these anywhere on your Jeep.

The aluminum surrounds for each one of the lights is predrilled, so if you do decide

to drill a couple of holes, you can certainly mount these a little more solidly with some

screws, some self-tappers, whatever you decide to use for that.

So, it's really just a matter of picking where you want each one of the eight lights, installing

it, running your wiring along the frame through the firewall or through any other hole or

grommet into the interior where you will you plug it in to this distribution block, which

will then get plugged into the master controller, which gets powered through the cigarette lighter,

and you're done.

It's a very, very easy install.

This is not going to take a lot of time and it's not going to be very difficult.

Even if you have no experience with wiring at all, you're going to be able to get this

installed in your Jeep really without any tools.

If you decide to install this with just the 3M adhesive, all you need is a bit of a cleaner

so that your surface that you are attaching that 3M to is nice and clean, and you won't

need a single tool to get this job done.

These lights come in at right around at $120.

And if you can consider the fact that you're getting eight lights, that you're getting

the remote control that they sequence, they move to music.

They do all of those different things.

And you compare this to a kit that only has four lights, is only in white, and doesn't

have all of those other features, you might think that you're getting a really good deal

with these.

But, in my opinion, the reason that these are only priced right around a much simpler

kit is that those simpler kits are going to be a lot more resilient to the abuse that

you are going to put the lights through if they're on and off-road vehicle.

If you plan on installing these on your Jeep that stays on the road, if it stays away from

a lot of weather, if you want all of these features of being able to strobe and change

with the music and all that, then this kit is going to be an option for you.

So, that's my review of the Vision X Tantrum LED Rock Light Kit fitting all 1987 and up

Wranglers that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Premier League: Top 10 Betting Picks For Gameweek 30 (March 8, 2018) - Duration: 4:10.

THE PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON IS WINDING DOWN AS WE ARE NOW INTO GAMEWEEK 30!

I AM HERE TO BREAK DOWN ALL 10 GAMES AND GIVE YOU MY FAVORITE PICKS.

NOW, I'M USUALLY JOINED BY ROB TRITES AS YOU WELL KNOW, BUT I WENT 4-0-1 WITH MY PICKS

LAST WEEK, SO I'VE SHAKEN THE DEAD WEIGHT AND I'M HOPING TO KEEP MY MANCHESTER CITY-ESQUE

LEVEL OF CAPPING GOING.

ON TO THE PICKS!

ONE OF ENGLAND'S BIGGEST RIVALRIES WILL HAVE A NEW CHAPTER WRITTEN AS MANCHESTER UNITED

HOSTS LIVERPOOL IN A BATTLE OF TOP THREE CLUBS.

UNDER HAS BEEN THE PLAY IN THESE MEETINGS BUT I'M GONNA MAKE A PLAY ON OVER 1 IN THE

FIRST HALF AT -110.

MO SALAH, VAN DIJK AND OX ALL STARTED THE MIDWEEK CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GAME ON THE BENCH

AND SHOULD BE FRESH FOR THIS ONE.

FRESH SALAH IS ALWAYS GOOD GREEN.

SOUTHAMPTON VISITS NEWCASTLE AND WHILE THE MAGPIES HAVEN'T BEEN THE BEST HOME THIS SEASON,

THEY HAVE BEEN GRINDING OUT RESULTS LATELY.

UNBEATEN IN FOUR, I'M GONNA BANK ON NEWCASTLE KEEPING THAT POSITIVE HOME FORM GOING AND

TAKE A DRAW-NO-BET WAGER AT -110.

LEICESTER TRAVELS TO WEST BROM AND THE BAGGIES ARE AN ABSOLUTE MESS WITH FIVE-STRAIGHT LOSSES

AND PRIMED FOR RELEGATION.

WHY BET ANYTHING OTHER THAN A FOXES WIN?

CURRENTLY +155 IN MONEYLINE MARKETS, SO JUST KEEP FADING THE BAGGIES.

NEXT UP IS WEST HAM-BURNLEY AND CONSIDERING BURNLEY'S MONEYLINE VALUE AT +240 HERE, HOW

CAN YOU NOT BACK THEM?

TRUE: THEY HAD GONE A LONG STRETCH WITHOUT A WIN BUT SNAPPED THAT LAST WEEK WITH A 2-1

VICTORY OVER EVERTON.

THE HAMMERS HAVE LOST BACK-TO-BACK GAMES AND THREE OF THEIR LAST FOUR.

VALUE IS TOO GOOD TO PASS UP ON THE CLARETS.

BRIGHTON HAS BEEN THE BEST OF THE PROMOTED CLUBS AND GETS TO VISIT EVERTON WHO WILL BE

WITHOUT ASHLEY WILLIAMS AFTER HIS DUMB RED CARD LAST WEEK.

I LIKE THE VALUE ON A BRIGHTON DRAW NO BET WAGER AT +155 AND WHILE EVERTON IS AN ADMITTEDLY

DECENT SIDE ON THEIR OWN TURF, THE VALUE IS TOO GOOD TO PASS UP.

SWANSEA HAS BEEN SUCH A GREAT STORY AS THE CLUB HAS CLIMBED ALL THE WAY TO 13TH ENTERING

THIS WEEKEND.

THEY'LL VISIT DAVID WAGNER'S HUDDERSFIELD SIDE AND WON THE REVERSE FIXTURE 2-0 BACK

IN OCTOBER.

BOTH OF THESE SIDES WILL BE PLAYING FOR POINTS WITH THE LOGJAM IN THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE

TABLE, SO I'M GONNA TRY OVER 1 GOAL IN THE FIRST HALF AT THE PRICE OF +140.

I WON THIS WITH SWANSEA LAST WEEK, LET'S DO IT AGAIN.

SATURDAY'S FINALE SEES CRYSTAL PALACE VISITING CHELSEA AND PALACE IS COMING OFF A HEARTBREAKING

DEFEAT TO MAN UNITED AFTER GOING UP 2-0.

THE EAGLES STILL HAVE A LONG LIST OF DOUBTS IN TERMS OF PLAYER FITNESS AND WITH THE BLUES

AT STAMFORD BRIDGE FOR THIS ONE, I'M GONNA GO CHALK AND TAKE A FIRST HALF SPREAD BET

AT -0.5 PRICED AT -135.

SUNDAY PITS WATFORD AT ARSENAL AND THOUGH - LIKE EVERY MARCH - ARSENAL IS IN FULL-ON

CRISIS MODE, I'M GONNA BACK THEM ON THE HALF-GOAL FIRST HALF SPREAD AT EVEN MONEY.

THE GUNNERS COULD.

VERY WELL BLOW THIS IN THE SECOND HALF BUT THEY'VE CRUSHED TWO OF THEIR LAST THREE OPPONENTS

IN THE FIRST HALF OF HOME GAMES, SO LET'S TAKE A SHOT WITH THIS WAGER.

TOTTENHAM IS COMING OFF A GUT-PUNCH EXIT FROM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AFTER GETTING DYBALA'D AT

WEMBLEY ON WEDNESDAY.

SPURS HAVE BEEN IN GREAT FORM DOMESTICALLY AND VISIT BOURNEMOUTH.

POSTED TOTAL HERE IS 3, SO I'M GONNA ADVISE THE CHALKY PLAY ON UNDER AT -120.

GAMEWEEK 30 CONCLUDES WITH STOKE HOSTING MANCHESTER CITY AND WITH THE POTTERS BEING ONE OF THE

WORST DEFENSIVE TEAMS IN ENGLAND, I'M BACKING THE CITIZENS OVER 2.5 GOALS AT THE DECENT

PRICE OF -120.

NOT MUCH MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID HERE.

THERE YOU HAVE IT: MY PREMIER LEAGUE PICKS FOR GAMEWEEK 30.

LET ME KNOW YOUR FAVORITE PICKS FOR THE WEEKEND IN THE COMMENTS SECTION BELOW AND IF YOU LIKE

OUR VIDS, HIT THAT THUMBS UP BUTTON!

ALSO, CHECK OUT OUR MLS BETTING PREVIEW OVER HERE - WHICH TRITES WAS A PART OF - AND BEST

UWM's Margo Anderson on the Encyclopedia of Milwaukee - Duration: 6:36.

What do you all think you know about Milwaukee,

besides the fact that you live here

and we're all here today?

What I'm going to talk about today is a big humanities,

mostly digital humanities research project

that's run out of the history department

with a whole bunch of people as you'll see

that is deciding to improve this.

So how do you know what you know?

And what more do you want to know?

And what do we here at UWM do to push

that along, if you will.

So that's what we're about.

And it's a question my colleague Amanda Seligman

and I asked about a decade ago

and have been sort of stewing over

and working on ever since.

So we thought out an encyclopedia.

An encyclopedia is a book.

But in this new world it's also a digital website.

And the new formats allow you to have pictures and maps

and references and public commentary and here it is.

So here we have, if you go to that website.

On the UWM website.

You will find milwaukee.uwm.edu,

which has been funded as, and let

me emphasize Helmstaedter's point,

The National Endowment to the Humanities,

UW Milwaukee, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation

and lots of other formats.

So what do you want to know?

You want to know about the brewing industry?

You can look it up.

And here we have a screenshot basically

of the entries that are going up where this

is going up live a little bit more content more every day.

This is the big main entry on the brewing industry.

You want to know about individual breweries?

We have entries on those as well.

So what we've done is take industries,

and then companies, and then drilled down detail

and more detail about these matters.

So you should see the big five up there.

Okay?

Famous people, okay.

Do you know who all these people are?

Anybody want to name them?

Right, Henry Maier.

Peck, George Peck.

Lord Barbie, Madam Burger.

Who else?

Billy Mitchell?

Ah, you passed on.

We missed the last one.

Okay.

Ordinary people.

We're also doing lots and lots of entries

and research on baseball clubs, and companies,

you've got the Northwestern Mutual Life

Secretarial Pool there.

You've got a tennis player out of

the county grounds about 1926.

Places.

Name these buildings.

Alright.

Entries on all of them.

Where they came from, why and so forth.

So we have the gas company, the water tower,

Miller Park, Saint Josephat.

What's the one in the middle?

Anyone recognize that?

That's Pfister and Vogel 1880s, right?

So what do we have?

Entries on the scope of the encyclopedia

is the walking metropolitan are which is the four counties.

It's historical in scope.

And it has very specific entries

on individuals and peoples and companies

as well as big fanatic essays.

It's both print and digital.

The digital version is developing in live now.

The print version, when you have an A to Z encyclopedia

you can't finish it until you get to Z.

If you're missing an M entry you can't publish it.

So we have to get it all done in probably

in the next year and a half so that we get a book.

So these are all the content areas.

We sat down with a group of experts

in Milwaukee history and area and put this

sort of table of content area together over a year

about seven or eight years ago.

We took that content area and then divided

it up into 750, roughly, individual entries

anywhere from a couple hundred words to 3,000 words.

You see some examples there.

There's a map of Greendale that

will be in the encyclopedia.

That is in the encyclopedia.

And we end up with 700,000 words.

So that's about seven monographs.

It's a lot of words.

Believe me.

We're not alone in doing this.

Many cities have put these projects together.

And so you can see New York and Chicago and Philadelphia.

Excuse me, Philly's is only digital right now.

Louisville and Indianapolis and Los Angeles.

And so they're somewhat different

but you can look for other cities as well.

And our goals have been to integrate this

into both the academic and the civic engagement activities

here on campus.

And to build a base upon which more research

on Milwaukee can be done.

Now, the question is how do you do this?

It's maybe on the capacity of individuals.

So what you're gonna see is three slides

of just names of people who have been involved in this.

Amanda and I have been the PIs,

if you will, from the start.

And then the list gets bigger and bigger and bigger.

The editorial board was the initial group

of people who put this work together.

We also had volunteers.

We had the people from our publisher

Northern Illinois University Press.

And then we have a big long list

from UWM Creative Services who've been

the website developers and designers.

And we didn't list the 175 people out

in the community who are writing for this.

These are the graduate students

who have worked on this project,

mostly funded with federal funding,

the foundation funding and internal

UWM funds for the last, say, seven or eight years.

As you'll see in front of them we put "doctor."

Some of them have received their PhDs

and have moved on since they worked for the project.

How does it cost?

Well it's expensive,

It's a couple million dollars.

What's that pay for?

It pays for the researchers.

It pays for all the technology,

because we have to buy the services of our creative services,

and the materials and all the administrative

and logistical work.

We're constantly raising money on this.

And so I leave you with that.

I would thank you and please go to it.

We also have a print bibliography.

We have Facebook.

We have Twitter.

And please enjoy.

Thank you.

(applause)

MAIL DAY |GAMECUBE | JAPANESE GAMECUBE | AKKlAIM | ORIGINAL XBOX - Duration: 16:53.

hey toxic gaming here and this is another mail day I guess I'll call it I

have a bunch of stuff coming in somewhere in the average of I think

about 24 packages over the next week so I'm going to make little clips like I

did before today we have four that we're gonna open couple of these are from

other collectives that I know that sent me stuff I do some trading with them

various parts of the country one of them's from Colorado and other ones from

California I don't think there's any from a friend of mine in Florida in here

and then the course is gonna be some from eBay some from Japan I'm not really

sure what's in this lot I think a couple of these are from people that I know in

a couple from you day so let's uh let's get into this one and we'll see what is

in here okay this is from another collector that I know out west he called

me and asked me if I wanted this I am looking for one of these it's box this

is the acclaim wireless controller for the NES now he only had one control I

think he said he broke the other one or something I'm not sure what the deal was

but I told him yeah if you didn't want it sent to me I'll take it I'll send him

something in return but this is the acclaimed double player controller and

we're going to give this a try later on to see if it works it takes two four

batteries on each side and you have this thing go have an NES out here yeah I'll

use the top loader and you just kind of plug this in like this to the top loader

or a regular NES and you put this on this is the wireless like guess the

wireless dongle so you have a wireless controller for your NES that's pretty

nice so I'll have to try to find another

control itself I said he only said he only had one of these but you can use

either you know one player single player or two player

it's got turbo buttons on it start select d-pad slow motion kind of just

like the Advantix advantage of antics controller so that's a nice little find

there so help us hang him something that he's looking for so let's see what's in

this one okay this is a chaos theory for the Gamecube chaos theory is a shooter I

believe it came out in 2003 I think this came out in it also came out for the

PlayStation 2 and the Dreamcast and this no this is not sealed this is just a

protection thing that they put these in this is a double disc for chaos theory

this is also on the shooter collection trying to think of the right name of its

shooter collection for the wii chaos field is on it and there's a couple

other games on everyone maybe this isn't a double one I thought it was meant they

got something else disc is in real good shape on that but this is an awesome

shooter take a quick look at the and you know you basically all you're doing in

this thing is fighting bosses kind of like cuphead where basically that's all

you're doing is fight bosses through the whole thing

so what I'll do is I'll put a little bit of gameplay I'm not sure down in this

corner over that corner what over there I'll do some gameplay on this and upload

some gameplay and we will take a look at Kay

field oh this is chaos feel about chaos theory chaos theory I believe is the

PlayStation 2 version is chaos theory so you can see it shows a little bit of the

gameplay on there you get power-ups and stuff like that

chaos field for the Gamecube see what this one is I think this is a turbo

graphics game if I remember right ok this is pack land for the turbo graphics

now I already actually have this game I wanted to play this game but the copy

that I have is a box sealed copy of pac-man and I really wanted to play it

and it's not a very expensive game if you get it get the loose you card like

this so I picked it up cuz I wanted to play it because I don't really want to

open the sealed box that I have for that game so that was pretty nice there and

then we'll have the last one out of this clip and like I said I'm going to upload

various clips and just make one one long video out of this stuff so maybe

tomorrow I'll get some more stuff in and maybe the next four or five days okay so

this is defender 2 for the NES one of NES games I didn't have and it's kind of

think where I got this from I don't think this was an eBay Buy I think

somebody sent this to me that I know I don't remember buying this on eBay but

anyway defender to another shooter type game I just got defender for the

original Xbox not long ago I think I made a video on that that was one of the

original Xbox games I got so ok so that's going to do it for this little

clip stay tuned for the next clip you know check out chaos feel they I'm going

to put a little bit of a gameplay on that maybe I lied to

defender to to it while I'm talking you could see what that game looks like but

it's a shooter kind of like chaos field this so and then we got the acclaim

double player wireless controller although I only have one receiver I'm

pretty sure I could find another receiver I am looking for this box so

I'm gonna try to find another one of these anyway boss because I have a

couple NES consoles anyway so I could use more than one so alright so stay

tuned for the next clip alright so this is the final clip that's gonna be add to

this I think I only added one more clip before this for more packages in I don't

expect any more in for a couple days so I won't wait a couple days before I

release this video one of these is from Japan and I think the other couple or

from eBay so let's take a look and see what we've got in here open okay so this

is warioware inc mega party games now if you're familiar with this this came out

in October of 2003 it first came out in the Gameboy advanced I believe and it

also came out on the Wii Virtual Console in 2004 what it is it's a bunch of

little mega mini games it's pretty good game to play if you've got a bunch of

people over there they're pretty sure games I don't think they last very long

I don't really remember it all that much I've have played in the past bonanza and

there's a bunch of different games in here I don't know if this is still

available on any of the Nintendo download services like I said this was

available on the Wii Virtual Console it might still be but anyway that's a

pretty good game to play so let's see what we got this next one here that

we've got I know that ones from Japan right there

okay this is a original Xbox and this is king of the fighters neo wave now this

came out it came out of the ps2 but on the ps2 it was only released in Japan

and on PAL and of course it's a fighting game came out April 2006 this was

released on the Xbox 360 as backwards-compatible and this is

backwards compatible with the Xbox one this is one of the 13 games that they

announced on when they came out with the Xbox 1x that was going to be backwards

compatible it's kind of I don't know if it's a rare game this came out about six

months after the release of the Xbox 360 so it's a little bit difficult to find

originally this came out as an arcade game

came out by SNK Playmore and play more with the people that actually had the

Neo Geo MVS in the arcades and when the Neo Geo was getting kind of old they

went to another type of board at Adam wise or something like that I can trim

the name it I've taught my head but so this actually did come out and there are

various King of Fighters I think this is like the sixth one in the series and

this actually might have all the fighters yeah it does has 43 SNK

characters which are all the SNK characters of all the versions that came

out twelve fighting teams this one xbox live the ultimate three-on-three fighter

for Xbox and Xbox Live and again this is one of the Xbox one compatible games

and we got another one here and this is sid meier's pirates live the life this

game kind of reminds me of Black Flag it's kind of a toned down version of

Assassin's Creed Black Flag you kind of do some of the same things though it's a

little quirky when you do it 2k games developed this came out in July

of 2005 actually Atari published this I believe you see if I can get this out to

check the disc which I can't seem to be able to all right this'll sit in good

shape manual wood that's got the registration card this was a remake of

an earlier game it came out on the PC and you can see based on the winner of

seven PC Editors Choice Awards for axis was the developer 2k games an Atari is

the publisher was released in Windows in 2004 and re-released on Xbox Live for

the 360 in 2008 this is backwards compatible with the Xbox one again it's

another kind of a hard game to find this really wasn't popular I mean it came out

towards the towards the end of the original Xbox in the beginning of the

Xbox 360 and it's does have a bunch of minigames on it you kind of you're

sailing around the Caribbean you're doing you're fighting other ships you're

doing trade and economy and there's a little quirky thing in here where if you

complete a mission you dance with a governor's daughter and you get special

points for that you have to kind of follow her moves around and stuff like

that so it's a pretty fun game to play if any of these games that I show you in

the unboxing is you want to see some gameplay on just leave me a comment

below cuz I'm probably gonna start doing some gameplay on some of these games

that you know you don't normally see around all the time and this is a

Japanese game game I can get this open without tearing

it all right so this is Mickey Mouse I can't take a name of it now Mickey it's

not the Mickey Mouse Fun Club it's Mickey Mouse whatever I can't think of

the name of it now 75 years of fun put out by Capcom and this is for the again

Nintendo GameCube the Japanese version of the Gamecube and that looks like in

good shape you see we got the sleeve the sleeves in pretty decent shape it's a

little maybe a little frayed around there but you know for the age of the

game what's the date on this if I can read it I don't remember when this game

was released 2003 is when this game was released so and then we have the manual

which is in really good shape again all in Japanese so we got another Japanese

GameCube to add to the collection so that's nice off to give this a try later

on tonight okay so we got some pretty interesting games in this lot

why are you we're mega party game King of Fighters neo wave Sid Meier's pirates

to live the life and a Mickey Mouse game that I can't remember the name of Disney

Interactive 2003 is when it came out so yeah if you want to see gameplay on any

of these games leave a comment down below as you saw I did do some gameplay

on chaos field for the Nintendo GameCube I showed you a little bit of gameplay on

that I'm probably going to start showing more gameplays of some of the more

obscure games which I would really call these obscure games I mean these aren't

your typical original Xbox games some of these I mean this one's really not that

expensive this one is you know really expensive at around $45 so

wario world worry aware I forget I think that's about 25 dollars some around

there and I don't remember what the Japanese GameCube was though okay so

that's gonna wrap this up this is probably going to be the last time

you'll see me record down here as I mentioned in my previous video I am

going to start recording upstairs I'm in the process of starting to set that up

so I have a bigger table I'm gonna be sitting down you know with the camera

kind of facing this way so you kind of get more of a view of what I'm doing I

am gonna have some announcements on possibly Saturday about the channel

channel update what to expect this coming yard sale flea market Game Stop

dumpster dive season some of the things that I've already pre-ordered that or

that I could be coming in in April I'll give you an update on that so I'll be

doing some unboxing of those so don't forget to subscribe to my channel when

you do subscribe don't forget to hit the BAL notification to get notified when I

upload don't forget to follow me on twitter follow me on instagram i do post

on both those sites as well thanks for watching and I'll see you next time

UWM's Christine Kovach on behaviors associated with dementia - Duration: 6:54.

This is a picture of me when I graduated

with a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Little did I know then that in terms of the shape

of my career to come, it would be a failure

in clinical practice that would shape my program

of research and lead to changes in clinical practice

in the United States, Europe, Australia,

and parts of Asia, but before I get to that,

let me ask you a question.

What will the last 10 years of your life look like?

If you're lucky enough to make it to old age,

will you be one of the approximately almost 40%

of people 85 and older who will develop Alzheimer's Disease,

and if you develop cognitive impairment,

will you be cared for by people who understand

your altered ability to communicate and know

when you are in pain, having sepsis,

or developing a pulmonary embolism?

Let me introduce you to some folks

who didn't get it right.

I worked with a group, I was responsible

for quality of care in a large, long-term care complex

with the medical director.

In those days, agitation associated with dementia

was viewed solely as psych pathology and was treated

with chemical restraints, snowing people

with psychotropic drugs, or physical restraints.

We had one woman who had reverted to only speaking Yiddish,

so we had communication difficulties,

she had many screaming behaviors, sucked air

through her teeth, and I remember trying to finish

irrigating her catheter before she would stick

her fingernails in my arms.

We were trying to improve her quality of life

so we put her in music therapy and observing toddlers

playing with their moms.

Eventually the woman died and the family asked

for an autopsy.

The medical director came to my office and said

the autopsy results were in.

She had a belly full of cancer.

We should've been treating her with large doses

of morphine.

At that time, we thought that her behaviors

were psychiatric in origin, and we had really failed

this resident and she had died a difficult death.

I started doing a series of studies to better understand

behaviors of people with dementia and factors

associated with inadequate assessment and treatment.

I'll share just a few of the findings

from those early studies that led to our interventions

and major changes in thinking about behaviors assessment

and treatment.

Imagine communicating your pain by trying

to get away from it, get out of bed, get out

of the wheelchair, get off the nursing home unit.

No one understands that you are in pain,

and that's what you're communicating,

so you're scolded and left to suffer.

That's what our research found.

Imagine getting awakened in the morning

feeling assaulted by a shower and rough scrubbing,

taken to eat and then to an activity.

Your agitation caused by a lack of understanding

of environmental stress thresholds is treated

with a tranquilizer that leaves you feeling bad

for the rest of the day.

Imagine calling out for help, saying, "something is wrong,

something is wrong", and your nurse responds

by speaking gently to you and turning on

your television set.

Three days later, you are diagnosed as septic,

because your urinary tract infection has now entered

your entire bloodstream.

Consistent with my Yiddish lady from the past,

our studies found three things.

People who had impaired communication were woefully

underassessed and undertreated.

Specific behaviors were communicating pain

and other unmet needs, and treating intractable behaviors

with analgesics led to huge improvements

in function and behavior.

I was pretty radical in developing this NIH-funded

intervention by forcing behavioral symptoms

to be followed by assessment, forcing prescribers

to go through five steps before considering

giving a psychotropic, and, in select situations,

using analgesics as a part of the assessment process.

We conducted two multi-site, large, randomized

controlled trials that showed huge improvements

in pain, co-morbid problems, agitation,

and improvements in the physiological

stress hormone cortisol.

But we also found a troubling problem

we called static care in which people continued

to be given the same ineffective interventions

over and over again.

We began a new series of studies

that found too many treatments were started

and were never stopped or altered based on changing needs.

Continuing to give treatments that are not needed,

ineffective, potentially associated with side effects,

or inconsistent with changing wholes of care

is not benign, it creates a physiological burden,

and can exceed the person's stress threshold.

We developed and tested an intervention to track

treatment effectiveness and force consideration

of stopping treatments under the four conditions

I just mentioned.

It saved money, got many treatments stopped,

and some new, more needed treatments started.

Currently I am working with a team

at the University of Pennsylvania, Emory,

and Johns Hopkins Sleep Centers as well as UT Austin.

For the first time, we now have a method

of diagnosing a painful nighttime neurological disorder

called restless leg syndrome in people with dementia.

The number one reason that people enter long-term care

is that the caregivers can no longer tolerate

the nighttime agitation and sleep problems

in their family member with dementia.

In our current study, 86% of the folks who meet

our initial eligibility criteria are testing positive

for RLS.

If this treatment is effective, it can save

a lot of money, keep people at home longer.

While this is my last slide,

here's hoping that you and I have a period

of old age and that we're healthy for a long

period of old age, and that we're able

to compress our period of morbidity.

Thank you.

(applause)

SEMA 2017 - GEARWRENCH with Jamie McMurray - Work Lights - Duration: 3:23.

I'm here again with Jamie McMurray and we're showing him our new LED work lights

Jamie we've got two new work lights and they're great to use for a really tight

spot because they're very thin and they have really cool features they've

got a 30 lumen tip light yep in fact I'll let you play with it here

alright. That's a 30 lumen tip light now that one

has a that's a five hundred lumen main light you just press that button again

and you'll get the main light

there we go right there we go there's two settings on the main light, thank you.

Bill doesn't even know where we are right now. He's blind. I was going to say there's 500 lumens somewhere.

500 Lumen will last three hours which is awesome. That's a long time. They have a 30 lumen tip light on

each one and that one is a 500/250 so if you press that button again a couple

times you'll get that's the 250 and then you press it again that's 500 lumens it will

run for three hours at 500 lumens which is an awesome run time. It will run for six

hours at 250. And it has a charging cable is that how you re-charge it?

It's rechargeable with a charging cable that's absolutely right and this is that

one comes with a charging transformer and this one comes with the USB. OK.

this is a this is a 150/75 (lumens) again it has the 30 lumen tip light and then

75 and 150. Try it in there and you'll see how it works.

it really is very effective when you're getting into really tight spots and dark

areas yeah for sure

and the cool thing about this is both of these have a

a metal hang hook you know some of the competition

doesn't make those out of metal and they're both they've got a magnetic base

I wonder what Melek has done, Jülide.

I'm terrified of her to leave home again.

Melek?

Melek?

- Welcome. - Thanks.

You keep going, then I'll check them, OK?

Emirhan? Inci?

Are you hungry? Should I prepare you something?

Nope, we've eaten.

Aunt Melek has made toasts for us. And it was delicious!

Oh. Bon appetite then!

Melek, how are you, dear? Are you alright?

I have good news for you.

- What is it, Melek? - What's going on?

But don't worry, it's all good news.

I'm so excited, tell me!

Now I'm curious about it.

I...

I remembered some stuff else.

- What? - What else did you remember, Melek?

The house I was staying, I mean Yahya's mother's house.

Yes?

There was a water fountain at that street.

And an elementary school.

The kids were running through the house as they were leaving the school.

Melek, dear, are you sure?

Yes, clear as a day.

These are important infos.

I may even know where Elif is.

Maybe I'll remember that in time, huh?

Why not? You remember a new thing every day.

Yes,

maybe it won't take too long for you to remember something about our Elif!

Hopefully. That's my one and only wish.

For us, too. God will listen to our prayers, don't worry.

We should keep our calmness.

Melek, dear, that's wonderful news.

I'm really happy to hear that.

I believe, we'll get our good old days back again.

Me, too.

I'm telling you time after time,

as I said, please don't leave without letting us know, OK?

Exactly, Melek, please. We're with you.

We want to support you.

Please don't make a move without telling us.

Besides, Veysel will do whatever is needed.

You don't worry, honey.

OK, don't get yourselves nervous.

I won't do a thing without letting you know.
