Hi, guys.
FOG of GAMING here and welcome to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
The Developers a huge announcement today.
They showed us a preview of Battlegrounds future and they showed their roadmap of 2018.
They will bring Major to us every two months, and they will start this month.
Today, we are going to check out all of the important changes and new game content that
the developers have in store for us.
The developers made it clear that they want us players to be involved in how the game
will change as they move forward.
That's why they will open a new Experimental Test Server which will allow us to experience
these changes first hand and provide the developers with feedback.
Based on our reactions, they will know exactly how our experiences are affected by each and
every update.
That's not the only thing that the Experimental Test Server will allow us to do, because in
the next month the developers will also be deploying a new 4 by 4 km island map.
It has a tropical climate with plenty of vegetation that can be used as cover, hills that can
be good places to snipe from, and a river that splits the map into three parts.
It is one quarter of the size of Miramar and Erangel, which are both 8 by 8 km in size.
The developers made this map so small so that we can enjoy a game that has a faster pace.
Many players have voiced out how much they don't like spending so much time just looking
for enemies or simply waiting for them to show up, and this should fix that.
On this smaller map you are pretty much guaranteed to run into a lot of enemies, this also means
that the matches will be much shorter.
They did not specify what the name of the new map will be, or with how many players
we will spawn at the same time but it's very likely that more information will come
out soon.
According to the concept art, it looks like there are at least five zones with structures
that the player can land into when searching for guns, ammo, and equipment.
It is not clear if more zones or buildings will be added, so we cannot say for sure how
the loot is going to be distributed in these zones.
One this is very clear, there aren't many buildings, I can't even see one single building
in the south western part of the map.
They also announced a new 8x8km map that they are currently working on.
They made it clear that they want us to be able to try this out in the Experimental Test
Servers early in the map's development process.
A new Emote System has been announced, and we will be allowed to check it out on the
Experimental Test Servers very soon.
I can already show you the preview but I will make an in depth guide later today.
They showed previews of two emotes on their website and they look like this..
One of them shows the character laughing, while the other shows the character being
very frustrated.
Based on the GIFs that were shown, these emotes will be accessible using a radial menu.
A new weapon will be added as well, the official name is still unclear but this gun looks like
the IA2 assault rifle.
This weapon was built in Brazil by IMBEL, and it was designed to replace the FAL, M16A2,
and HK33 weapons that are currently being used by the Brazilian Armed Forces.
The images of the new gun shows that it has "Rifle 7.62" written on the side.
If it actually is the IA2, then it is likely going to be the Battle Rifle variant, but
we are not sure yet.
Aside from this new weapon, other things that will be released in the future include new
vehicles which the developers plan to add in the first half of this year, an expansion
of the current set of guns, and new weapon attachments.
New skins for these weapons and for the parachute will also be added in the future, so that
we can further customize our characters.
A few changes to the ballistics system will soon be available in the test servers.
Bullets will soon be able to penetrate your limbs so that it hits your body or anything
behind your arms and legs.
Your shots will also be able to penetrate through vehicles, so it will be much easier
to take down players who are inside them.
Guns that will normally leave an enemy with some HP after a shot might be able to kill
an enemy with one shot that hits multiple parts of the body.
This is definitely a small addition with a big impact, especially for sniper rifles and
high-caliber weapons.
There are a few more new features that we will be able to try out very soon.
The experimental test servers will allow us to use the new Achievements system so we can
keep track of actions that we have performed in the game.
An in-game friends list is also ready for testing, so it will hopefully be much easier
to set up parties and squads.
Speaking of squads, you will soon be able to communicate with your buddies even before
the game starts.
The Roadmap for 2018 has a few overhauls in store for certain in game systems.
For example, the Parachuting System will be changed to make it more responsive and look
more polished.
The developers also intend to make Third Person Perspective and First Person Perspective animations
smoother and more reactive to the environment.
As examples, they told us that they will be changing how our characters are animated when
getting inside vehicles or switching seats.
The developers also mentioned that movement animations will be improved so that our characters
will look better in 3D replays.
Aside from Visuals, they also intend to release improvements to the game's sounds in the
first half of 2018.
Vehicles will soon have more sounds and they will sound different depending on what surface
they are driving on, and they will sound different in various weather conditions.
You will soon be able to hear the rain as it hits the surfaces of your vehicle, so hopefully
they will bring back the rainy weather.
Gun sounds will also be changed so that they sound more distinctly different depending
on your current Point of View.
Custom games will soon be expanded in 2018.
The developers will improve the system so that you can save your custom presets.
This means that you won't have to readjust the settings of your custom game every time
you create one.
They also intend to give us more control over these settings, so that we can set each custom
match exactly how we want it to be.
They to make custom games accessible to a wider audience of players so that there are
custom games that people can join at any time.
The PUBG Developer Portal will be introduced this year.
The portal will allow us to access the Development Blog and Technical Notes regarding Game Updates.
This will make it easy to keep track of the changes that they have made to the game.
Most importantly, the Developer Portal will include the PUBG Developer API.
The acronym stands for Application Programming Interface, and it will provide player and
match data around gameplay performance.
It will also provide match-level, season-level, and lifetime-level data, which developers
can use to create resources that are useful to players.
The API will also allow E-sports Groups and other third parties to create custom games
within PUBG.
It will allow them to manage games effectively and minimize the technical work for PUBG Corp.
Speaking of E-sports, the developers are working on improvements to the replay system.
Their goal is to allow organizations to have an easier time spectating live matches.
They have not specified exactly how they will do this, but they have specified that a different
replay system will be made available so that recent events can be replayed while a match
is currently in progress.
These were all of the changes and new features that the developers announced for the 2018
Roadmap.
I am currently creating a video regarding the latest update, it is now live on the test
servers and I will include the link here so that you can be the first one to see the latest
changes.
This was FOG of GAMING, thanks for watching, and I will see you in Battlegrounds.
