The first experience

I was moved after it

when i saw someone

sitting

only praying to God under a tree

every door has closed into his face

no work no money no food

nothing at all

so he sat down to pray for help

Oh messenger, Allah loves you, Mohamed

I want to offer you work

yes

can you come and help us in building some stands

a stand like that high

Elhamdullah, Thanks Allah

when you visit a place with famine

This one of the worse situation when you see

children dying infront of you

The situation in Africa

The person has to see it himself to believe it

You cant be a human who sees all that and ignore it

nor even have the intention to help

you see humans that are forced to walk very long distance

just to arrive to a dirty swamp

to get water from it to drink, shower and cook

I can see actual living insects moving in the water

and the water is yellow itsef

the children literally waste third of the day

to fetch for water

and this is one of the biggest problems in Africa

children loose their childhood to fetch for contaminated water

its like one of the pillars of life water !!

Of of the most common child death here is drowning while getting water from the swamp

the swamp sometimes are deep and the jerrycans are very heavy with water

when you see 187 child stacked

in 6 classrooms, with that form or shape

that is a disaster

what you are seeing is not normal and shouldn't be normal

you cant see that anywhere

we are actually standing in the classroom that they used to study in

nothing changed that is it, with the same status

this is the board they used

look we didn't do anything

you can find the old writing on it

and they learn

they are very keen to learn

they want to hear and learn from you always

this was the old bathroom that supposed a human being should use

Something happened in that point

120 thousand people

Elhahmdullah, thanks Allah

I rarely calculate it

Food, Dried fish

The village has 180 families

They were waiting for this

celebration , the food meals

since we opened the water well

we have

if they have this normally

they wouldn't celebrate a meal

The children takes every single rice in the pan

I want to eat ofcourse

but you will take the portion of someone !

actually we are very happy

thank you for that may Allah bless you

we face a problem because we dont have a mosque

and "inchallah" if Allah wills

that you also construct for us a mosque

in this area

this is the reason why we came this area

we dug this borehole from almost 1 and a half year

and we saw the mosque that they used to pray in

**sound: Prayer Calls**

He built 11 mosques and was a reason for 5 people to enter Inslam

Our main focus was in education

But you can't provide education without the basic needs

that help them to survive

water, food, health

Easy Grow Kitchen Herbs Tutorial - Duration: 6:14.

If you're like me, you would love to have more useful plants growing in your living

space, but you're limited on the amount of space and resources you have.

So today I'm going to show you a couple of easy herbs to grow in your kitchen or on

your porch, and give you a few tips for caring for them!

General tips to start you off: Firstly, you're going to want to get a good quality potting

soil.

If you're starting your plants from seed, look for something that's specifically intended

for seed starting.

For herbs, you're going to want something that drains extremely well.

You can accomplish this by mixing sand or perlite in with your potting soil, ensuring

your container has enough draining holes, and putting gravel below the soil.

Basil is a wonderfully versatile and useful kitchen herb.

Scientific name Ocimum basilicum, it is in the mint family, Lamiaceae, and likes warmth

and well draining soil.

For container planting, you'll want to choose a dwarf variety, like Pistou, Purple Bush,

Minette or Boxwood.

Of these, Purple Bush is most tolerant of cold, so if you're growing in a chilly kitchen

window, that might be your best choice.

If you'd like to bring your basil outside, make sure you wait until it's at least 50

F at night.

Pinch off flowers to encourage more leaf growth, and pick leaves at your leisure for cooking!

These little seedlings are a sweet basil variety, that I started a couple of months ago while

the weather was still cold, and I was desperate to plant something.

I've got them in a nice big pot with gravel at the bottom, and organic potting soil that

has some perlite mixed in.

I'm also saving some seedling to put in my community gardening plot later this month.

This next plant is a little off-beat, but I am a huge fan.

Lemon balm, scientific name Melissa officinalis, is in the mint family, Lamiaceae.

It gets its name because of its lemony taste, and it's useful for a lot of things.

The dried leaves can be used in tea, and the fresh leaves can be used in salads.

Lemon balm is a prolific grower, and you'll want to pick the young leaves before it flowers.

It's a perennial, so it will come back year after year.

It grows well with partial sun.

Chives are closely related to garlic, onions, shallots and scallions.

They grow from bulbs, and the stalks, called scapes, are popular in cooking.

In containers, they need lots of space, so don't crowd them, and give them a nice deep

pot.

Unlike some of the other herbs I'm covering, chives really benefit from fertilizing.

You'll want to make sure their initial soil is rich in compost, but still drains well,

and treat the plants with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer, like fish emulsion.

You can grow either garlic chives or onion chives.

Their names reflect their tastes, and both are equally easy to grow.

You'll want to grow them from bulbs or seeds, and they're a perennial.

Kept inside, the bulbs will regrow through the winter, providing you with tasty fresh

chives year-round.

Scientific name Rosmarinus officinalis, Rosemary is unique compared to the other herbs I've

discussed, because it is an evergreen.

It has woody stems, and compact, waxy leaves evolved for keeping in moisture.

The plant originated in the mediterranean region, and needs good drainage, and the soil

should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings.

Give the plant plenty of sun, and increase the pot size every year as it grows.

It's easiest to grow from a store-bought plant or cutting, as the seeds are difficult

to germinate.

When choosing a variety, trailing varieties like Santa Barbara or Huntington Carpet make

great hanging baskets.

The variety Blue Boy is great for window sills.

Harvest stems by clipping them off, and use the leaves or stems in cooking.

The flowers are also great for salads!

While I'd argue that all of the plants I'm discussing are beautiful, this last one is

particularly so: Violas and pansies.

These colorful flowers thrive in cooler weather, so they're great for the spring.

What's wonderful is that their flowers are edible!

They're a great colorful addition to salads, or you can candy the blooms with sugar.

Grow these in rich, moist soil with partial shade.

If you're buying grown plants, look for ones with lots of buds.

Be sure to deadhead flowers, aka cut off wilting flowers and don't allow seeds to form.

This will help the plant keep producing more flowers.

Those gorgeous flowers can then be clipped off, and used as a colorful addition to salads,

or candied and used to adorn things like cupcakes.

I would also add that if you're planning on growing these for consumption, be mindful

of where you purchase plants.

Many nurseries will douse plants in pesticides, and you don't want those on plants you'll

be eating.

This is true for all edible plants, but as violas are often used as decorative plants,

be particularly careful.

And look for species like Viola tricolor and Viola x wittrockiana, which are safe to eat.

African violets, despite the name, are not true violets and should not be consumed.

Those are just a few plant possibilities to get you started!

There are literally hundreds of varieties out there for you to try.

Check out some of the resources in the description for more in-depth info.

This year I'm also growing calendula and catnip!

But in summary, you're going to need some containers with drainage holes, highly quality

soil with added sand or perlite to help with drainage, and your plants or seeds of choice.

Put them in a sunny window, and remember to prune them as needed.

You'll have a flourishing stock of fresh herbs in no time!

I'd love to see what herbs you have growing at home!

Les Novices - Le Myriapode S2E04 - Duration: 6:47.

When you left from Mauréac, you were always smiling.

You had a great energy. Sometimes you was dancing at work, you remember.

- Yes... - You were free. And there...

I haven't see you in a while, maybe what I'm saying is stupid.

I feel like you're a bit more closed.

- Is there a problem, Chloé? - No, no problem, I don't think so.

But yes, maybe you're right, maybe I'm a bit more closed.

Yeah, yeah.

- Huh... Fred, that's right? - Yes?

The stool...

You can't see the model, it's not possible?

I'm working on the face. The size of the nose compared to the eyes.

- But then there's the rest of the body... - The rest of the body I...

But it's not drawing anymore, it's sport.

When we want to draw, we draw. So we draw with the right material.

Try this...

So?

It opens the field of possibilities.

Amazing.

- It's a very nice suggestion. - Isn't it. Go ahead.

- Chloé. - Yes?

- You're okay? - Yes, I'm fine.

So you just have to. So let's go.

Let's go, we don't think anymore, we don't stop anymore,

we don't censor ourselves, we let the pencil speak.

The pencil...

Great.

Yes... yes.

I was right, there's something... What's the matter?

I don't know, when I think about it, when I ask myself why,

because I'm wondering...

I think I can't...

I can't be with people anymore. I don't know how...

- How to be sociable, and... - Yeah that's it, with meetings,

with friends, even with old friends...

- It's hard. - Yeah. They're asking a lot of you.

You feel like you have to be interesting all the time.

That's it, you need to be interesting!

- To be sociable is to be interesting. - Yeah, right.

It's crazy! And when you don't want to?

That's right! How do you do? You're not good?

- It's crazy. - You agree with me, it's great.

It does the same to me... with my sister, for instance.

My sister, sometimes she's annoying, you see, she pisses me off, she says :

"You did that? That's not good, you should have done that", or...

"Don't you dare do that."

- And I'm like "okay, okay." - She's running your life.

- She's running my life, I'm not free. - Right, for me it's the same with Thaïs.

She's always asking me "How are you",

"Why aren't you ok", and everything...

I don't want to answer! I don't know myself, so you see.

- So you ask her to fuck off. - Not really...

- Well, a little... You too? - No, I'm having trouble.

I can't say "Fuck off" or "Shut up" to her. So...

I'm doing everyting in my head.

- Like what? - Like...

I think that the "Me" in my head will tell her :

"Juliette...

Shut up... Shut the fuck up, Juliette."

"You're ruining my life. Don't you get i?"

"You're poisoning me! Get out!"

"Get out, I'll throw you by the window, I..."

"I will kill you, Juliette. I will slaughter you."

- You don't really want to do it? - No, it's in my head.

All my body is speaking... things became mental.

I guess that you...

Shoulder. Shoulder is very complicated on a model, especially feminine ones.

There's some grace in the shoulder that I can not catch.

- I try... - It's good.

- It's very good. - Thanks.

She's in fire...

So?

- Me? - Yes, you.

- No, for me it's more... - You're not violent like me...

No, not so much. And not with people.

It's more with me, you see, I talk to myself in my head.

You blame yourself in your head?

Oh yeah... I hadn't thought about that.

Okay, okay. So you blame yourself...

Imagine.

- I am you, the "you" you blame. - You're my head.

Yes, basically I'm your head, and you... the physical Chloé,

say to me, the "you" in your head, what you have to blame.

What do you say, I'm curious.

I say to myself... Well...

Come on...

Come on, do something... Be...

- Wait, that's all? - Be more...

If I were Chloé, facing the other Chloé, I would say...

"But Chloé, what are you doing? Get up, Chloé."

"Get up, move the world."

"Take out your most beautiful smile, which will destroy everything, and walk!"

"Move this ass which will dominate the world."

"Come on, roll..."

- "Roll." - I stop you right there.

I don't say that in my head. I can't really say that to myself.

- You went a little far. - Yes, but it's the idea...

This stool is really difficult to draw.

I have trouble with the feet that are...

- Do a footstool. - That is a good idea.

Chloé.

So?

- So it's moving forward. - Well, no, it's not.

- Do we go ahead or what? - We go, we go.

We go... or we leave.

But we don't talk like that... We let the pencil talk.

- Ok. - Or we leave.

But sometimes I give her tips for the oval of the face.

- It's very good, Fred. Very good. - Thank you.

- You're a fucking crawler. - No...

I'm not an crawler. She's a nice teacher.

Cohabiting Before Marriage | ZULA ChickChats: EP 53 - Duration: 9:10.

Hi, I'm Chevonne.

Hi, I'm Julian.

Hi, I'm Vanessa.

Hi, I'm Leah.

And this is ZULA ChickChats!

So today we'll be talking about cohabitation,

and cohabitation is when you're living with your partner before marriage.

So first of all, are you guys dating or seeing anyone now?

I'm dating someone, it has been almost 3 years.

I'm in a relationship, it's been about three years.

And I'm also in a relationship for about...

more than five years, I think.

I think.

I'm single, I'm single.

So since you guys have been with your partners for quite a long period of time right,

have you considered moving in with your partner?

Actually I'm sort of living with him right now.

For me it just came very naturally,

like within three months of us dating right,

I was already going over to his place.

So like, it started out as one week long, -Same-

then after that I'll go home for like maybe four or five days.

Then after that I'll go back to his place for one week again.

Then after that, it gradually became longer and longer.

Mine was similar to yours when we were still both in the Philippines.

Her house was in the city and I was in the ulu (outskirts).

Ulu.

I was very far from the city.

I'm currently living with my girlfriend,

'cause we are both working in Singapore.

It is easier for us to do it that way.

For me, I'm not living my boyfriend,

but I will go to his place,

maybe like three times a week.

So it depends, like some weeks I will stay every day at his place.

It's kind of like a 50/50 lah,

between my home and his home.

What did your parents think of that?

Initially, I thought they will not be accepting [of it].

But then like, after a while, they also got used to it.

Like every week they'll just message me,

"Oh, when are you coming home?"

I feel that they became, at some point, jealous.

'Cause I'm spending more time there,

and like I go out with their families,

but not so much with mine.

My parents always say like,

"Oh, you don't treat this home like a hotel orh."

Because, she always say-

Because I think maybe it's the Asian parents mindset.

So it's like, before you marry out,

you are still, you know, single.

So you should spend more time with your parents.

So for me I'm not together with anyone now.

If there's an opportunity, I'll definitely cohabit with my partner in the future.

So the next question is,

what are some factors you would consider when you're moving in together with your partner?

It depends on, whether or not, I intend to marry him.

A lot of people say that cohabitation right,

sometimes, there's a higher chance of breaking up.

Ah yes.

Because a lot of people do it,

without the intention of,

deciding whether or not this person is really someone you want to marry.

Definitely, finance.

Whether we are both financially stable,

whether we are okay with each other's habits.

I think if I had a choice my factors would be,

number one is hygiene.

That's very important.

Hygiene.

'Cause if like, I see your hair on the floor,

you know like, pubic hair all over the place.

I'll be like...

I want to know if this person is someone that I can get married to.

A lot of times- -Yeah, a lot of people use it to 'test water'.-

It's a 'test water' thing.

If you live with the person right, you'll see all their habits come out.

If you're gonna marry the person,

you're gonna see this for the rest of your life right.

Honestly to me, it is a lot that gotta do with,

whether or not I can tahan (deal with) his parents.

Like whether or not I get along well with his parents.

Maybe this person might be okay to live with you,

if just both of y'all are alone.

But oh, because his mother said this,

his father said this,

sometimes it tears the relationship apart.

Because you have all these external factors there,

so it's not really a very good gauge lah, I feel.

I think can I just give a disclaimer,

you know when you cohabit with someone in Singapore's context right.

The chances of cohabitation is very high,

but [only] if you live with your parents-in-law or with your parents.

'Cause I think in Singapore,

it's a bit more impractical to go out,

and have a couple rent a place on their own.

For you guys right,

because y'all kind of live together with your partners already,

what are some pros and cons?

I think pros is that it prepares you before the wedding.

Like you get to know her true self...

how clean she is.

Everything is the hygiene.

So you know how this person is like,

before you are actually committing to him.

So I think that is very important for me lah.

Okay, since I'm at the 50-50 mark right,

the reason why I also wouldn't (cohabit), it's because I feel that like,

at this point in time, I would want to like,

have that kind of space.

Because if you see the person every single day,

then sometimes you will get sian (tired of him).

You get to resolve differences easier.

Isn't it harder though?

I feel like,

I got trained to do it well now.

Trained.

Because you cannot sleep knowing that you both argued,

like it's very hard to sleep.

Especially when you're together, like how?

You gonna try to like- -Ignore.-

If let's say you share the same house,

then let's say you have an argument,

you can't just stomp off and then leave.

And then drive off, you know.

True, true.

'Cause you drive off, then U-turn, then go back to your house.

Drive off and then sit at the park, and then come back home.

It really depends on the kind of, like-

the person that you are dating.

Some people resolve conflict by like-

oh you know like, uh...

talking it out and then going to sleep,

and then you're happy already.

Last time when I have my ex-boyfriend right,

he'll come over to my house, like quite often and stuff.

But I don't necessarily go over to his house,

because I think his parents are more conservative right.

One party will feel a bit awkward,

more than the other party.

Like who's gonna pay the rent, in that sense,

when you live at your parents' house or your partner's parents' house?

My mum always say must be zidong (automatic) one-

Yeah, it's really zidong lah.

If you're staying at someone's house,

at least like, buy them food for dinner.

You know you offset (the cost) but what if the parents expect more, like you know,

electricity bills doesn't equate to the cost of a chicken rice that kind of thing.

Yeah so I think this may be a problem.

For my boyfriend's parents,

they're actually very open about it.

Like whenever I go home they'll ask me, "Oh, when are you coming back?",

that kind of thing.

So like I'll feel welcomed there.

I think as a person right, you have to have the common sense of having courtesy.

Like you have to, at least, contribute to the food.

At least make them feel happy that you are there.

Okay so one of the other cons, right, is that,

everything that I buy must times 2,

because I also want to have items at his place and my place.

Like for example my hair straightener,

so now I have to buy 2 hair straighteners.

So every time I go to my boyfriend's house right,

end up like carrying backpack ah,

like going camping you know.

All my clothing mix with her brother's,

all our underwear like...

We have the same underwear brand.

So we're like...

Then whenever like-

Sometimes you don't have enough clothes right,

then you end up wearing her brother's clothes.

Then when you go down the stairs, then it's lunchtime,

then the brother will look at you like...

They will say it's okay,

but the family member who actually owns that (clothes),

is really not okay.

If you're comfortable living with your partner,

would you be more not inclined to get your own apartment,

or like have a child and start a family, outside of it?

Actually, you get more inclined to have your own place.

The current scenario is that,

me and my girlfriend living with two other different people in the house.

And now right we're having the time of our lives,

'cause they're both gone.

I really feel like it's our home, you know.

Like I sing along while I'm cooking.

I would never do that if they are there,

I'm not that noisy.

So now I feel like it's more of a home, if it's yours.

So you look forward to having your own home.

Even though we have a lot of privacy,

'cause he has his own room and there's a toilet in his room and stuff like that.

So both of us would want to have our own privacy, in that sense.

We did talk about this,

like when do we want to move out,

when do we wanna get married?

Do you think Singaporeans in general are open to the idea of cohabitation?

I think really quite subjective because like,

some people they are in their late 20s,

and they can't even close the door when their boyfriend is in the room.

Oh my God, that is damn true.

Because parents damn strict.

So I think it really depends on the family.

I think it's because, in Singapore right,

we are a mix between western and eastern.

Yes, I was gonna say that.

So we still have the very traditional values,

but we are kind of influenced by the Western 'open-mindedness'.

And I also feel that,

a lot of times, the conservative society,

it's still there leh.

A lot of my friends who have been together with their partners-

for a very long period of time right,

they don't even stay over at their partner's place.

They can't even go on holiday together,

cannot go hotel together,

cannot stay-cay all this kind of thing.

So I feel that it's still, quite, not very open.

The last question would be,

any advice can you give to couples who are still thinking about cohabiting?

I would say it's a big decision, don't take it too lightly.

It's almost the same level as marrying someone.

Because you will really find out who that person is,

and you must be ready for that.

I feel that if you're not so sure yet,

then you just 'test water' first.

Meaning maybe you start staying at his place a few times a week,

but you don't actually have to move in.

Oh yeah, let's say you want to start cohabiting,

and he is living with his parents right,

you still have to be very very understanding and be forgiving.

Because ultimately you are not going to marry his parents,

but when you marry a guy you marry his family also.

If you're thinking of like committing to this person,

I feel that it's more important if you cohabit first before you get married.

Because then you'll realise that there's actually a lot responsibilities.

Both of you need to be understanding towards each other.

Just cohabit if you see a future with this person,

because breaking up with a person is cheaper than getting a divorce.

Like everybody mentioned right,

cohabitation really shows the true colours of a person.

And if you cannot tolerate it now right,

5 years down the road right,

you confirm cannot tolerate it one.

So today we talked about cohabitation,

and we realised that there's a lot of pros and cons.

So ultimately it's a good way to test waters before marriage.
