Shady Companies Using YOUR Photos/Videos Without Permission | Theory - Duration: 9:20.
Before we get the video officially started, I want to make things very clear.
My intentions are not to hurt the company.
In fact, all of the information I'm about to present to you is available to the public
via their website, Facebook, etc.
So, these are all just theories and opinions, and you could be the judge for yourself what
to make of this information.
Imagine scrolling through Facebook or Instagram and seeing one of those videos that just stops
you in your tracks.
You know the kind of videos I'm talking about.
The clickbait ones you don't actively look for, but end up watching anyway.
Now, imagine seeing yourself in one of those videos.
Problem is, you didn't upload this video nor did you give anyone permission to use it.
So, you uploaded that face mask video about a year ago.
How did you find out that someone used it?
I logged on to Facebook.
Like you know, what people do and my friend tagged me in a video where I was in it
which was really weird.
Yeah I ended up messaging them about like this is my video.
You know ask for my permission and you can use it.
You know I sent them a nice message.
They didn't respond to me.
And does it bother you in anyway that they were using your image for this ad.
The ad doesn't really...It doesn't bother me.
What made me annoyed the most was what they were...The link that they had for someone
to click on to go buy that product.
I wasn't even using that one.
The company seems to be growing.
I think you can only do that for so long and only have you know certain people like me
that are just like whatever.
Lucky for Jeff, the video was removed.
He also didn't seem to mind that they were taking his video and using it for their ad.
The only thing he really wanted was to be credited.
But to be honest with you something still doesn't seem right about this.
Here's what we know.
Jeff's video was used to advertise a product from a company called Slay Love.
So, I'm looking at who is commenting, sharing, and liking these posts.
A lot of them seem to be people outside the US and for some reason, SoFlo too.
Many of the comments actually seem to be from real people.
People genuinely sharing this with friends, but also complaints about this company not
delivering on time.
In their video section, I noticed Guava Juice a youtuber with 10 million subscribers.
I doubt he was paid to do this, but nothing is impossible.
Unfortunately for me, he has way too many followers to see any kind of message I send
him, but I did notice that this ad left someone's Instagram or twitter handle on their video,
and that's this guy, Kieronthebarber.
So, I'm going to go ahead and attempt to reach out to Kieron the barber on instagram.
Um on youtube though he has about...Oh god that's bright.
On YouTube he has about 81 thousand subscribers and on Instagram he has about 97.3 thousand subscribers
so hopefully he answers.

Did you give permission to a company called Slay Love to use your black mask video?
Okay so in the meantime I did find the original videos that guava juice and Kieron the barber
did and they're testing completely different products.
Right here I have a Purifying peel off mask, but this thing is no.
its not a normal ordinary mask okay?
This thing is the most painful mask ever.
Now, what I'm going to be doing here is, I'm going to be using.
I've tried many different black masks and I must say for me personally, Pilaten black
mask is definitely the one you must be buying.
So this ad is trying to sell you a face mask, but the content of the video is most likely
composed of people trying out different brands of face mask.
Pretty much he confirms that he did not give them permission to use this video.
FFS lol I'll message them.
The Facebook page seems inactive so maybe there were tons of complaints that caused
them to ditch this page, but I'm clicking this link and its leading me to this website
called Shop Sena.
Looks like they sell a variety of things and also that face mask that was advertised.
So, its possible that Slay Love just had a rebranding.
It changed its name from Slay Love to Shop Sena, but I'm looking at their facebook page
and wow.
Shop Sena has terrible reviews.
They only have 29 but all 29 of those reviews are one star.
The page does seem inactive, but all the reviews are recent so this company is still in business.
In summation the comments are composed of people complaining about late orders, almost
2 months late.
And the company actually being a Korean company posing as an American business.
It's highly likely that these companies are the same because a commenter said that
their bank statement says the transaction was made to slay love.
This is getting more and more bizarre because I'm looking at the website's FAQ section and
they say they're based in Los Angeles, but according to a lot of the commenters they're
based somewhere in Asia.
But that's not the weird part, the weirdest part is whoever created this site forgot to
edit this part.
In the defective product section they say this, Dapiz will cover related costs.
Who or what is Dapiz?
Same bad reviews.
I kind of see what's going on here.
Dapiz also has a website and it's leading me to this, Allurefy.
Same type of products.
Even the website layout is the same to Shop Sena.
Looking at the Allurefy Facebook page, and I can tell this is the one with the most likes
and engagement.
But for some reason they're promoting the Shop Sena
Who promotes their competition?
The only difference is this page looks like they're actually using hired actors to create
content to promote their products.
To add more to my suspicion that all these companies are actually the same, if you look at how
to return them, they all lead to a space in Valencia California.
I have several scenarios of what may be happening.
Jeff mentioned this one
They're affiliate marketing.
They're creating viral videos promoted via Facebook and Instagram ads, making people
click the link, and when an individual buys a product, they get a cut of the sale.
So they aren't actually responsible for the delivery process.
They're only making money by making you click the link.
Next scenario which I think is the most plausible, is that they're taking products from Asia
that may have otherwise been cheaper and flipping it.
That's the reason for the warehouse and why they're a bit overpriced compared to
the same products on amazon.
For example the Zhiym smooth 4 is 139 dollars on Amazon, but they're selling it for about
200.
The third scenario, is that this could be the same Asian company just disguising themselves
as an American business
So what's with all the aliases and different company names?
I'm guessing that Allurfy is their legitimate business.
They have the most followers with that account, the videos are hired actors and so forth.
These other aliases like Shop Sena and Dapiz are being used to promote content in a very
shady way.
Using other people's videos and images.
The advantage of that is free content without the work.
The allurfy page merely just shares these videos from Shop Sena and Dapiz, making it
look like they do not have an affiliation.
And if those pages get shut down, that's fine because they still have Allurfy.
And again, I'm not accusing the company of doing this.
These are just my theories based on I've seen that's available to the public.

on the local newspaper, bus stop benches, or their local radio station.
If you had a bigger budget, you could even get on TV.
One popular type of ad was the testimonial.
It's a powerful tool in advertising.
It showcases different types of people to convey a certain message, depending on the service
or product.
For example real people would convey that the average joe like you can use this product too
You want me to sit on this egg?
Okay!
Can't believe I'm doing this.
I don't even feel it.
It didn't even break!?!
Oh I was wondering about that.
Now that's a good cushion.
Experts give the product credibility and builds trust.
The majority of patients trying the lenses on take home trials and the whole process
takes about 5 minutes.
The list goes onto celebrities, individuals who switch from one competing company to the
next, and people with interesting stories.
The internet has taken testimonial ads a step further.
Get Casey Neistat to mention your brand just once in a video, and your business would get
a lot of traffic.

Though there are many benefits to this newish opportunity, there are also many pitfalls.
In an age where people can pose as almost anyone they want, what can we really trust?
Just look at these deep fakes with Nicolas Cage in every movie.
And in an age where we post what we eat, what we just bought, where we were, how do we know
who has used our content to be someone else, to promote a product we don't believe in,
to support a candidate we didn't even vote for.

Remember that time Khloe got her killer fit-bod?
If you've ever found yourself wondering how in the world she made such a stunning transformation,
the answer is simple: This girl knows how to shake it.

Kardashian's nutritionist revealed to Healthista, that Khloe starts each day with a nutrition-packed
breakfast shake of whey protein, almond butter, fruit, ice and water.

We all know that hydration is key, but not everyone enjoys the taste of plain old water.

And according to her app, Kourtney amps up her water by infusing it with fresh lemon,
mint, and ginger, writing,

Ladies who lunch
The only things getting more screen time than Kim's cry-face, on Keeping Up with the Kardashians,
are those mystery salad bowls.
"There is a phenomenon happening here and it's because of the Kardashians, right?"
According to Kim, the infamous salads are from a Woodland Hills, California restaurant
called Health Nut.
Kim says she and Khloe go for the Chinese Chicken Salad with extra avocado, Kendall
and Kylie order the Deluxe salad (no cheese or tomatoes for Kylie), and Kourtney keeps
it simple with a classic Chef Salad (also skipping the cheese and tomatoes).
Anyone else thinking only about cheese and tomatoes right now?
An apple a day
Kourtney gave fans the low-down on everything she eats in a day, starting from the moment
she wakes up.
According to her app, she takes collagen supplements every morning, followed by one tablespoon
of organic apple cider vinegar 20 minutes later.
She says,
"Both of these habits have a ton of health benefits that affect everything from your
skin to the way your body processes nutrients."
But if you're not a vinegar fan, don't worry.
Kourtney also bakes apple chips in a weekly batch, using thinly sliced apples and a sprinkle
of cinnamon.
Kardashian family favs
If you've ever imagined yourself sitting down to dinner with the K-clan, pick up a copy
of In the Kitchen with Kris.
The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch and author, Kris Jenner, dropped by Today to share her
signature chicken soup recipe with the show:
"This is my heart chicken soup, and this is what I make every time somebody doesn't feel

And even supermodel sister Kendall has a trick up her sleeve.
She whips up the world's easiest dish by tossing a box of pasta with a bag of frozen peas.
