Which tactics, if any, work while discussing Christianity on the internet?

Well in some sense, I would say many tactics I would use in a conversation

with someone in person would also apply to a discussion on the internet. However,

there are also some tactics that I believe are unique to online discussion.

But let me first mention two tactics I use in person that I think also apply to

online discussions. And the first is to use the Columbo tactic a lot. Okay? Now

that's just the tactic of asking questions to better understand what a

person believes and why they believe it. In fact, I always try to take time to

find out a person's view or their point before trying to respond or make my case,

and I believe the same would apply to an online discussion. Now, a second tactic

would be to make conversational character a priority. And by that I mean,

make sure that the manner in which we're communicating with a person is warm, and

friendly, and kind, and gracious, and inviting. And in fact, if you can't do

that, then please stop engaging others. I feel like people underestimate the

importance of conversational character when they engage with people who

don't share their religious convictions. You represent Jesus in how you come

across to other people. So this is key in both offline and online discussion. So

now, let me mention then three tactics I believe that are specific to online

discussions. The first is to lower your expectations. And I think it's a lot

harder to have a civil and productive conversation online so it's often times

better to expect less and then be pleasantly surprised than vice-versa.

The second tactic is to have someone proofread your responses before posting

it, okay? And the reason is that it's much easier to miss communicate when you're

writing since we often abbreviate what we're writing in order to save time. And

that means it's easier to unintentionally imply something that you

don't mean or have someone infer something that you didn't intend to

communicate. I often have my wife actually read my post and my responses

before I send them off because she's a very different person,

okay? She's very different than me and she has very

different sensibilities. And she'll often read something and notice it sounds odd

and well, she'll tell me, you know what Alan, this comes across a little bit

condescending or a little bit arrogant, you know. And so it helps me to have a

different perspective to sort of give me insight on how something that I've

written might be understood. And finally, the third tactic I'd say is to be

willing to abandon an online conversation or discussion when it

devolves. Because after all, even your best attempts might result in an

unhealthy dialogue, and a wise person knows when that moment arrives, and I'd

say it's best to cut your losses and then move on. So you just simply say, "Hey,

you know what? I don't think this conversation is is really healthy and

productive. You know, why don't you go ahead, make your final point, and I'll

allow you to have the last word on this." So then you let them make their last

point, and then you just let it go. Finally, remember this: As an ambassador

for Christ, it's only your job to present the truth or your case in a persuasive

yet gracious way, and then leave the results up to God. So don't be committed

to the end result of changing their mind or making them become a Christian. That's

God's job. Your job is simply to be committed to your part of the equation

which is being a faithful ambassador, and then let the Holy Spirit do His thing.

Where did you get it?

A friend.

He recommended your bank most highly.

I see.

Do you know our terms, sir?

Yes.

And you should know mine.

This gold is what remains of my people.

Ask the Vet - Considerations for a horse coming off extended stall rest - Duration: 4:30.

SARAH: "Things to take note of when taking a horse off

of eight months stall rest?"

Oh, bless you, Amber.

I'm so sorry.

Thank goodness you're near the end.

"He had a leg fracture that has healed well enough

to start turnout next month!"

You've got some stall rest in your past.

DR LYDIA GRAY: That's exciting.

Me and my horse both.

SARAH: Well, yeah that's true.

DR LYDIA GRAY: I have done, recently, you

know, some research on bone health

and I've got a few things to read

that are really interesting.

I'm a vet and I'm sure someone told me this in vet school.

I was thinking about horses, horses, horses.

So I'm sure I've heard this, but rereading

this has been so helpful.

So, "after extended periods of stall rest,

the calcium requirements go up even if horses are just

returned to a pasture setting to compensate for bone

loss associated with disuse."

So that's the stall rest.

When a horse goes on stall rest there's a signal to their body,

you're not exercising.

The bone can lose its density, its thickness, its hardness.

The minerals go away.

As soon as the horse ends the stall rest

and gets put back into work, the exercise

stimulates the cells in the bone to gather more minerals

and build more bone.

So its at this time that is critical

she add those minerals.

Calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, collagen. A third of the bone

is collagen.

And then factors that help bone build

the scaffolding and the structure,

that's the silica and the boron and things like that.

So now is when she needs those.

And that's why I set a couple of products

out that are designed just for horses exactly in the time

frame that you are.

So I think the first thing I think

of is when you're adding exercise back,

slowly with your vet's help, is get the nutrition correct.

Then, there's a book and it's kind of old, it's 2007.

And I have it and I love it and I've used it a lot.

It's very specific for what you're coming off of,

but it's called Back to Work--

How to Rehabilitate or Recondition Your Horse and it's

by Lucinda Dyer.

It tells you exactly what to do for bone injuries,

for soft tissue injuries, for whatever it is.

How to gradually, step by step, week by week,

bring them back into condition.

Because she's got to rehab the bone, the muscles, the tendons

and ligaments.

The hooves have to be conditioned again.

I mean it was eight months?

SARAH: Eight months.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Yeah, that was a long time.

Because one of these studies said after 12 weeks.

So that's only three months.

In Arabians, they decrease their cannon bone mineral content.

And to compensate for this mineral loss, when activity

resumed they needed to feed 20% above the recommended

amounts of calcium.

So when you begin to exercise your horse again,

you've really got to pump them with the nutrition.

You've got to overdo what the NRC says.

So get that book by Lucinda Dyer.

Then get the Hilary Clayton book.

SARAH: I knew it was coming.

I knew we weren't going to talk about books

and not talk about Hilary Clayton.

DR LYDIA GRAY: She tells you exactly,

because you've lost muscle mass and strength,

you've lost flexibility in your connective tissue,

and you've lost cardiovascular, like aerobic, conditioning,

and she tells you exactly how to get all that back in the time

frames.

Like which ones come in a month and which ones take two months

and which to take three months.

So you need to do both those things.

You need to bring him back safely

and then strategically to make sure that he's

fit in all his body parts.

It's scary, it's exciting.

I mean, we wish you the best of luck but you'll do great.

Don't stress out.

SARAH: So I would throw out there also,

given the timing this our April video, both of those books

are great suggestions for anybody coming out of winter.

If you haven't been working your horse as much because both

have great feedback for reconditioning and bringing

your horse back into heavy work.

And taking the winter off is a lot

like being on a lesser version of stall rest.

Your horse's physicality really changes.

So great books to check out.

DCS F/A-18C Lot 20 - Ramp Start Tutorial #1 - English Subtitles - Duration: 13:13.

Hey, what happen panda, this is Revientor Reborn in DCS with a F/A-18 of the Spanish 12 wing

Today I am going to speak about the Ramp Start, because this is a Alpha Version, this tutorial will not be in deep

Look the plane is so awesome

As I told you this is a basic Ramp Start, remember SHIFT + P will show/remove the pilot body

also you can remove the stick if you need it

first of all you have to turn on the battery,

with right click you will turn both batteries on, and you can check its voltage

Doing left click you will select override and that only turn on the emergency battery, in this case you can check its voltage

this is really easy, now the fire test

in this button here, there is Fire Teat A or B, you can do left or right click as you wish

first I am doing the right click,

wait to hear all the warnings

ok that all, also I check all the lights are ok

now I have to wait 10 second to do the other fire test

you can extinguish the master caution

now I am doing the right click in the fire test

it´s the same

ok

now it´s time to turn on the engine

in the real plane the light test can be done with the battery, but here in dcs not

first you have tu turn on the EPU

wait for the green light

there it is

now you decide what engine you want to turn on, in this case will be the right one,

I do right click and keep it a few second, then you can check the RPMs are going to raise

in the moment the rpm are more than 20% you can feed the engine with fuel

for that you have to move the throttle using the key RIGHT SHIFT + HOME

there you can see the throttle and the rpms

When the engine is active, the generators will work as well

there you can see I have the electrical system feed because the generator

the Left engine still off and the flight controls are not reseted

lets go to activate the DDIs

you have to rotate this knob to day or night value

I am going to put the left in day mode and the right in night mode, as you can see there is a delay when turning on

now I set the right one to day, as you can see is only a bright thing

the test page do not care of it for the moment because is almos nothing implemented

push stop and it´s done, here you can see a few faults

now while turning on the plane that fault will disappear

start turning on systems like the radar, set stand by, also the flirt in case you have one,

the inertial, ins, is here, there is the CV position and the ground position, use 2 right click and set ground

CV is for the carrier

later will use navigation

This is a LOT 20, that menas what year of construction it is, in this case is 1998

this planes was build with a INS type EGI, laser/GPS, for that the alignment time is short, around 2 minutes

in the old F18 with the traditional INS, it was around 4 minutes to minimal alignment and 8 to best performance

this is not perfect modeled in DCS,

I like turn on the panels, now you can see a bit clear

the IFF or crypto radio, is not implemented but I like to turn it on

the IFF have not turn of, also is not implemented this fiction, but I like to turn on the mode 4 audio

APU still on, I will turn on the left engine as same as the right one

I am going to set the engine menu to enjoy more the start up

for the left engine, to feed it you have to push RIGHT ALT + HOME

here you can also see how the values change

the engines are ready, the APU can be turned off automatically (time limit), but in this case I will do it manually

there you can see the BLEED are off, lest open them, for that

you have to turn the knob one side 360º

the FLaps are OFF, due the FLCS need to be reseted

let´s put here the FLCS menu

there is a lot of X, that menas fault in that area, that is due the ramps start, you only need to reset the system and will be ok

now that I reset the faults are off

now set flaps to HALF to takeoff and we can do now

close the canopy

the ckpit in DCS keep the same external noise close as open.. that is kind of bug

you have to turn on the down DDI, for that increase the bright to max

and the same for the HUD

I do not like the MAS, for that reason I always turn off the map, for that use the middle left button of the DDI

hit it twice and that all

I set the waypoint mode and I make the route visible

now you cant turn on the radar, because you are in ground the radar is not going to wave the place

other importan thing is turn on the RwR

push there and that´s all

the RwR screen have a big delay to be responsible, for that we wait to perform the test later

to takeoff the HUD repeater is on the left DDI in case you lose the main HUD you have the backup there

on the right I like to use the ADI, you can have the engine parameters or the FLCS

of course set the ADI in INS mode

now in case of emergency when takeoff I have a lot of back up systems on screen

the manual prefer the FLCS on the right DDI, but I prefer the ADI, fo the night is really easy to check your position

do not forget uncate this instrument

you can also regulate the altimeter, the barometric pressure

the real F18, if you forget change the INS to normal mode, when the plane detect movement, itself change the mode to normal (internally) until you stay steady again

now I change the ins to nav mode

the plane is not stupid and have that auto feature , in DCS is present but bugged, because when you stop again the ins still in nav mode

the RwR is already on, we will talk later about RwR config, because is not full implemented

let´s do the test

the F18 have the RwR integrated in the HUD but for the moment is not modeled

with this the F18 is ready

do not forget set your bingo parameter

this is a basic tutorial because it is a ALPHA, when the module wil be more developed I will redo all the tutorial with more info

I hope you learned something I will still doing this kind of basic ALPHA tutorials

be happy subscribe thumbs up, bye bye

2015-2018 Mustang SpeedForm GT350 Style Track Pack Rear Spoiler - Pre-Painted Review & Install - Duration: 13:46.

If you're a fan of that Shelby track pack styling and want the convenience of a pre-painted

part, then you should definitely check out the SpeedForm GT350 Style Spoiler for your

2015 and newer S550 Mustang.

Now, SpeedForm's option is constructed from durable ABS plastic and is offered in just

about every factory color available for around 400 bucks.

Now, your install will go one of two different ways.

If you have a factory spoiler installed, you're looking at a straightforward job that requires

no drilling whatsoever.

On the other hand, if you do not currently have a spoiler or wing attached, there will

be some drilling involved.

So, because of that, we'll go one out of three wrenches for option A and two out of three

wrenches if you have to drill.

And be sure to hang out towards the end of this video for a detailed walkthrough of the

job.

Now, the spoiler category is a rather large one and will feature some mild stuff like

the factory blade-type spoilers all the way down the line to the gnarly carbon fiber GT350R

stuff and everything in between.

Now, the option we are talking about here today is another factory-inspired part, and

one that I think will live somewhere in the middle of the pack in regards to overall size

and styling impact.

And that is, of course, the standard GT350 track pack spoiler.

Now, for those who don't know, Ford released two versions of the non-R variant of the GT350,

and that was the tech pack and also the track pack.

Now, the tech pack had a very basic, unassuming blade style spoiler, which was very subtle,

almost too subtle for the car, in my opinion.

Now, the track pack, on the other hand, had a spoiler that fit the car perfectly and offered

a good amount of aggressiveness, if you will, for a spoiler.

Now, sure, it's not gonna be nearly as radical as the GT350R option, but let's be honest

here guys, that spoiler is a little much for most casual Mustang owners out there.

Let's focus in on the track pack style spoiler a little bit more.

And on the surface, guys, you're gonna have a very durable and lightweight ABS plastic

build with a lot of the same detail as the OE Shelby option.

I know it's a little difficult to see here on black one, but take my word for it, you're

getting a lot of the same cutouts and marks or detail of that factory spoiler, but for

far less dough than buying the OE part from Ford.

On top of that, guys, you're also getting the ability to have the spoiler color matched

to your ride right out of the box.

So, that way, when it ships to, it shows up, you simply pull it out of the box, slap it

on your ride, and you are good to go.

No trips to the paint shop, and ultimately, no hassle.

On top of that, our techs in the paint booth here at AM spray with the same base and clear

coat that Ford uses on their Mustangs, which leads to a very consistent color match to

your ride at home.

Now, again, at the time of this video, we do offer just about every factory Mustang

color available for the S550 Mustang.

But again, just to be on the safe side here, guys, it's not a bad idea to check the availability

for your color on the product page before pulling the trigger.

We do offer a complete list of colors per year that are currently available.

And, at the end of the day, if you do wanna save a few bucks on this thing and you either

have a paint hook up or you spray yourself, you could always grab the SpeedForm option

here minus the paint for about 100 bucks less than the pre-painted option.

But, let's get into the installation with the SpeedForm spoiler.

And again, it's gonna go down one of two different ways.

If you have a factory spoiler installed, there will be no drilling necessary.

On the other hand, if you do not have a factory option, there will be some drilling involved.

And to give you a better idea of how this spoiler is gonna get in place, here is a detailed

walkthrough.

All right.

First thing we're gonna do is open our trunk up and take our clip remover tool here, and

we're going to pull all the clips that hold the deck lid panel carpet on, and that's going

to reveal the screws that hold our factory spoiler in place.

And we're gonna remove these two rubber bump stops, they unscrew.

Next, we're gonna pull the two factory grommets in the deck lid here.

Inside of here is gonna be a 10-millimeter nut, there's another one on the other side

here.

And also, there's 2 10-millimeter nuts in here as well.

That's a total of four nuts that we need to remove to pull the factory spoiler off.

Okay.

I got my 10-millimeter socket here, and I'm gonna hold the deck lid slightly down so we

don't drop our nut in the deck lid.

If you do, it's not a big deal because the new spoiler comes with new hardware.

Just try to avoid dropping it.

All right.

So, I have the trunk closed.

That's gonna help us get a little more leverage to pull the factory spoiler off.

I have a plastic pry tool here that's also gonna help us separate the factory 3M tape.

I'm just gonna start prying up on the corner here gently.

So, I'm still trying to work some of the 3M tape to get it loose.

Once you got your corners loose, you wanna pull up evenly on both sides to try and release

the rest of the 3M, and it should come off.

You are gonna have to put some pressure on it to pull this thing off of here.

The next step is going to be to remove all the 3M tape that's on that deck lid panel.

There's a couple different ways you can do this.

I have a rubber eraser wheel, really speeds things up a bit.

You're gonna wanna take some patience.

And if you don't have this, you can use your finger to peel it off.

Or you can get some 3M adhesive remover and a rag.

WD-40 also works well.

We're going to use this rubber eraser wheel to get this off.

All right.

The next step is very important.

We're gonna prep the surface so that the 3M sticks properly.

We're gonna use the supplied alcohol prep pads followed by the 3M adhesion promoter.

All right.

Next, we're gonna use the adhesion promoter.

All right, we're now ready to install our wing.

What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna start the corners of the 3M tape.

I'm not gonna pull it all the way off.

All right.

So, we're gonna do one side at a time.

I'm gonna place the spoiler on the deck lid very gently.

I'm gonna open up the deck lid while we're trying to find our hole there for our first

screw.

It helps if you have a magnetic tip screwdriver.

All right.

We got one screw in the right side of the spoiler.

I'm gonna peel the rest of the 3M off now and we're gonna get our second screw started.

All right.

The center two screws are slightly tough to get to here.

All right.

We got all four of our screws started.

I'm gonna finish pulling the rest of the 3M backing tape off now.

And we got one piece on the back.

All right, we can now tighten up the four screws all the way down for our spoiler.

Once we're done tightening them up, we're gonna close the deck lid and just put some

light pressure down on it to seat the 3M tape.

All right.

We can put our deck lid panel carpet back in place now.

All right, guys.

That's gonna wrap up our review and install.

Be sure to check out more at americanmuscle.com.

Why you should visit Kanazawa now - Duration: 9:18.

Kanazawa, Japan

Welcome to Kanazawa

Kanazawa is less known tourist spot than for example Kyoto

But actually this is the second largest city after Kyoto that wasn't bombed in the Second World War

And because of that the streets here are absolutely gorgeous

Amazing samurai and merchant houses

And they're still inhabited

I think that's amazing

And because there are not that many tourists here you can stroll around and do sightseeing without a hustle

To feel the "real" Japan

The most famous sight here in Kanazawa is definitely Kenrokuen Garden

Which is one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan

But on this video we're not going to see it yet but today we're going to stroll around Kanazawa and see the beautiful streets here

Besides Kanazawa having these gorgeous old streets here

Kanazawa also has picturesque streets from newer eras as well

Let's begin our tour here in Nagamachi

The heart of Kanazawa, the gorgeous wooden samurai and merchant houses

You can enter some of the houses or gardens behind the houses with a small fee or even for free

You should definitely check them out

They are very atmospheric

And on a Monday like it is today, there's no-one here

It's so peaceful here

For 100 yen I could visit this huge merchant house known as Kanazawa Shinise Memorial Hall

At the moment they're having an exhibition about hand made balls

The aristocratic children used to have these kind of toys

But today here in Kanazawa they have this culture where a mom makes this kind of ball and gives it to their daughter as a protection charm

I walked to Tatemachi district to have my lunch break there

Tatemachi is a trendy district here in Kanazawa

It's pretty quiet now on a Monday

But there are some places open for lunch

Like the excellent Full of Beans

They have many choices that include a lot of vegetables to choose from at lunch time

They are mainly a bit over 1000 yen (around 10 euros)

My choice had a bit less vegetables though

It's called "hanton" which is a speciality here in Kanazawa

It's rice topped with omelet and brown sauce which is heavily flavored with ketchup

And it was topped with fried shrimp

The lunch set also included a salad so I could still get my daily portion of vegetables

It was absolutely delicious!

They operate their restaurant in a house that's more than 100 years old

And it seemed pretty popular

It was full at lunch time

A nice experience

Tatemachi is quite interesting as a district

But even more interesting is Shin-Tatemachi, or "New Tatemachi"

Shin-Tatemachi continues the street of Tatemachi

I love the buildings here!

They're from different eras

They don't fit together but that's why they fit together so well

Hipster boutiques and car repair shops or small market places side by side

My prediction is that in the future this street will be filled with hipster shops

This place is so picturesque that you should definitely have a stroll here

I'm now in Teramachi, literally "Temple Town"

There are, well, a huge amount of temples here

Besides having temples there's also a nice view from here since this district is located on a hill

One of the temples is called "Myoryuji", or the so called "Ninja Temple"

In reality it has nothing to do with ninjas

But there are a huge amount of hidden doors and hallways

It's amazing

I joined a tour there

The tour is 1000 yen (roughly 8 euros) and you need to make a reservation

I didn't do the reservation in advance but I could do it here as well

And with that I could join the next tour they had

In the beginning I felt like 1000 yen to visit a temple is a bit expensive

But it ended up being an amazing experience

I wasn't sure where I was inside the temple and if you'd go there alone, which is not possible, you would get lost

So many hidden doors and hallways

Unfortunately it's not allowed to film or take photos inside

The guiding is only available in Japanese

But about half of our group were still foreigners

But if you don't know Japanese they'd give you a book written in English so you can follow the tour

I've now reached the Western Chaya District, the tea house district

Which means it's a geisha district

This is only one street here that's been preserved, but there's another tea house district on the East side of Kanazawa as well that's larger

The street is very peaceful now in the evening

There is this museum here you can enter for free

The museum is a real tea house you can enter and see how it looks like

You can actually see a room where the geisha would entertain their guests by dancing or playing music

An interesting place to visit

I heard you could spot a geisha here in the evening but so far I haven't had any luck

There are a few cafes and sake bars here

Kanazawa is known for its excellent sake

The prices are pretty rough though

So I'm not going to enter one of the sake bars alone today, maybe if I had a friend with me I would

But it's nice just to stroll around and see this area

You can tell the difference between samurai district and geisha district quickly

The samurai houses are surrounded by a wall

But the tea houses in a geisha district have their doors directly at the street

It's now five thirty in the evening and it'll soon get dark

You can soon see the neon lights

It's good to spend your evening here in Katamachi, which is the entertainment district of Kanazawa

There are many restaurants, pubs and buzzing city life here

I'm not that hungry yet since I had a late and large lunch

So maybe something small, like oden

Oden is everything small and lovely in a soup stock

Well explained but...

But it can be eggs, vegetables and fish balls, for example, in a soup stock

That's a popular dish here in Kanazawa to enjoy in the evening

So I could soon have something small like that

But you definitely won't run out of choices

It's super easy to see Kanazawa by foot

There are also city bikes available here

Also the signs here are excellent

There's a map or a sign of where to go on almost every street corner

So it was very easy for me to do this tour and see many interesting areas in this city today
