If being an introvert is a bad thing, people would have avoided introverted people or they

In fact, introverts have special ability that make them important in our society.
And as time goes, it seems that finally the world is waking up to the idea that there
is this kind of people called introverts among us, and not weird, or awkward, or embarrassing
people, as they used to be unfairly labelled.

needs to be cured.

10 Reasons Why Being an Introvert is the Most Amazing Thing Ever.
#1 - Understanding through seeing
Introverts are usually not involved in a conversation, and they stay in the border of a room.
They actually see what other people are doing, and they observe it carefully to get greater
understanding.
#2 - Freedom
You get the freedom for everything you wanted to do without interruption by others.
Sometimes, additional people just slow everything down, and you do not have the option to do
what you want.
Being introverts also make your vote ineffective.
That is why it is always better to have complete freedom for yourself by being alone.
That is why introvert is actually not a bad at all.
#3 - Busybody mentality
Talking and caring about other people's business is exhausting.
It is not to mention that it also takes away your valuable time to do something more practical
and useful.
Being introvert definitely enables you to focus on the real meaning of your life instead
of constantly talking about other people.
#4 - Thinking deeply
It is very useful when you are working on important project.
Extroverts generally cannot think as deep because their mind is usually distracted by
patterns and anything technical.
However, introverts can dig deep into problems easily through their feelings.
#5 - They cannot get bored easily
One impressive trait of introvert is that they don't get bored easily.
This ability is because their amusement comes from something simple such as reading book,
watching movie alone, and something like that.
#6 - Less is acceptable
You just can accept everything that you have.
This happens because you are not exposed by things that make you jealous.
#7 - You always see the bigger picture
Because introverts take their time to observe their surroundings, trying to understand people
and things around, they are capable of looking at the big picture and be creative.
Trust me, they can be one of the perfect choice when you need to analyse risks, identify behaviour,
think outside the box, or predict an outcome, as they are prepared to abstract regarding
nearly everything.
#8 - You are also detail-oriented
Despite seeing the bigger picture, many introverts can be very attentive to detail.
They are patient and able to keep themselves concentrated, giving time to their minds to
capture everything that is around them.
They can also be highly sensitive and record impressions from almost every single thing.
This way, they can identify patterns and notice small changes when necessary.
#9 - You are better on self-improvement
Because you often spend so much time inside your own mind, it is only natural that you
can take self-improvement to the next level compared to other personalities.
You are a deep thinker and able to put a lot of effort and discipline trying to understand
your own emotions and how to deal with them.
They are usually big fans of meditation and mindfulness and don't have any problem finding
solutions to their own challenges.
#10 - You are a good listener
Listening is one of the best qualities you can have as an introvert, and I can bet that
you are happy to do so.
By being a good listener, it gives to them the opportunity to learn more about people,
so they love to listen to other stories and ideas.
Here and there, introverts will also give one useful input or two, but what introverts
truly want to achieve is gathering as much information as possible so they can improve
their relationship with you, whatever kind it is.
Well, those are the 10 reasons why being an introvert is the most amazing thing ever.
So, Really cool information isn't it?

How to Flip Footage in Premiere Pro (Horizontal and Vertical) - Duration: 2:48.
Hey what's going on guys! Today I am going to be flipping this video;
Horizontally...and Vertically
Inside of Premiere Pro. So lets jump right into
Premiere Pro, to get this effect done;
quickly and effectively. [In Premiere Pro] Alright now we are
inside of Premiere Pro. Let me give you guys a little bit about
what this effect could actually be used for.
If you aren't sure if you need to use this effect yet.
What you need this effect for is if you need to
readjust your footage either horizontally or vertically.
to get it perfectly
for the frame that you are trying to work with.
Maybe your footage was recorded
on an iPhone, and was recorded
horizontally...wrong.
Or maybe
you wanna fix it to make it match the way you though it would look.
Or maybe it was
Mirrored, and you want to Mirror it back to it's default state that
it's suppose to be. Or maybe
it's horizontally mirrored and you just need to fix that
with this simple effect.
So what you want to go to
is go to your "Effects" Panel. If you don't have it
this is my edited work space.
Yours is gonna be probably different.
If you don't have it, if you don't see it, go to window,
then go all the way down to "Effects".
"Effects Controls" is something else, or
you can just press (shift+7), if you don't see
effects here. (That's a default macro.)
So were gonna go and were gonna search up
"FLIP".
Now this is just a general term
because there are (Vertical)
and (Horizontal) Flip so that's why I just type in flip, so I can see both of them.
There's also "3D Motion" but that is not important at the time.
We are gonna deal with "Horizontal Flip"
and "Vertical Flip"
Alright, so let's see what this actually does.
Horizontal Flip will flip your footage
Horizontally.
As you can see here, me turning off and on the effect
it flips it horizontally. Let's say you were recording with your iPhone Front Camera.
It usually mirrors it, so you can flip it back
can flip it back to what you think it is
the correct way using this effect
"Horizontal Flip". Now that you know how to use the Horizontal
maybe your footage is flipped vertically.
So you just click and drag it onto your footage,
and now you see your footage
Vertically Flipped inside of Premiere Pro.
You can mix and match using both of them,
at the same time
or you can just leave your footage the way it is.
Thank you guys for watching, hope you learned how to flip
horizontally and vertically your footage if you need too,
inside of Premiere Pro.See you guys in tomorrows video.

003 - Marriage and Family - Devotions for the Family - Dr. Steve Sullivan - Duration: 47:50.
get a copy of it and be able to pick them up again we're involved with
discipleship and this is the first level of discipleship and there's three
sections we've had the two booklets that you've been through and now we're
dealing with the family section and this family section we really need to keep on
top of it and I put these little blue notebooks in the back so that you can
have those that can put your notes in them and so when you finish this you can
turn this in to me in about another 17 weeks and you can get credit for that
and then if you've done all three sections you'll get a certificate we're
going to bring people up and do that if you miss one section or one we're going
to be repeated down the line I hope they'll be repeated the rest of this
life of this church so that people can be involved see then you'll have the
Christian life and family life and you could teach it wherever you want you can
teach it your home teach you to people at work and things to this sort so
something that's transferable that's why we did it the way we did hope you picked
up the notes soon as you walked in and today we want to turn to the book of
Deuteronomy Deuteronomy chapter 6 and Deuteronomy chapter 6 is a section the
book of Deuteronomy itself is a review here is the nation of Israel wandering
in the wilderness because they were disobedient to God and every one of the
generations that were disobedient to God four died in the wilderness
except for Joshua and Caleb and Moses who was not allowed to go into the
Promised Land and so as they came back to Katie's Barnea to go right into the
Promised Land God said to Moses you need to review the
generation that saw me and Mount Sinai and saw how awesome and holy that I am
need to be reminded because they were younger twenty years
and younger and so they need to be reminded of the law of what God says
about entering the land and how he wants his people to act and part of that we
find here in Deuteronomy chapter 6 now if you were in Israel today you would
find this constantly being said Deuteronomy 6:4 which is called the
Shema it's called the Shema because the first Hebrew word here the word here and
Deuteronomy 6:4 is the word Shema which means here and that's just something
that they constantly quote in the in the nation of Israel so this is a famous
section here that people know even if they're not very religious in the nation
of Israel now let's begin and I want like I said to use this as a backdrop of
why we are to teach our children okay why we should have a time in in our
homes to be to teach our kids two things of God and then what does that mean you
know what does God expect from me in these things of course anything he tells
us to do we are we should automatically say gosh I can't do that and you you
know and that's a good response but then what should you do well the next
response should be that God helped me to do this so every command of God every
every pattern that God puts down causes you to come to the end of yourself to
cause you to turn to God independence and when we are dependent upon him were
the freest people in the world when we're a slave of God we are free and if
we become free from God we become enslaved to the world into our flesh so
I'd like to begin here and remember mmm Joshua in our previous lesson
was that kind of like the Sam Houston of of
elimo he drew a line in dirt and he said you know if your forests crossed the
line he's because he says for me in my house we will serve the Lord and if
these if we've made that decision then what do we do now to make sure that our
home is not like that of the world and I believe the outline it's found here in
Deuteronomy 6 we could have turned to several places but I like to start with
Deuteronomy 6 now let's begin with Deuteronomy 6 verse 1 and here we see
the responsibility of parents ok verse 1 of Deuteronomy 6 now this is the
commandment the statutes and the judgments which the Lord your God has
commanded me who's me Moses okay to tell to teach you that you might do them in
the land where you're going over to possess it I see some important points
here first of all Moses is telling the people so that he may teach it we ought
to be involved in teaching it and therefore it to do it it's easy to teach
things I do it all the time and what one of the the things that I've asked God to
do in my life is that what I teach that I put into practice I mean what I mean
if I'm sitting up here teaching marriage and family and my marriage in my homes
falling apart I mean what do you mean what kind of credibility do I have now
you all been with me for five or six years so you know my home is not perfect
but but I'm endeavor to try to teach so we need to be involved and teach it that
means our home needs to be in order now I'm starting to preach again so I would
ask you all to move forward if you could because I've been instructed by the
other teachers around here that I might my voice projects quite a bit so if I
start to talk a little softer you're gonna say what's wrong with him is that
I can forget now that I can't talk real loud they thought the
speaker was on a couple of weeks ago I
guess that makes me a loudmouth I don't know all right so the responsibility to
parents is that we should teach our children and that they may do it okay
when they enter into the land now what when were they entering in oh well it
was Canaan of course the land of Canaan well who lived in the land of Canaan he
said well the Canaanites lived in him well what kind of people were they Oh a
quartic if you want to say now what kind of society we live in the United States
that's not totally a cultic we're very ambivalent one time we're a cultic
another time we are Christian I mean we just become very inconsistent in our
society okay and it's becoming more more anti-christian I mean against
Christianity I mean just the other day I was listening to the radio and some
young man who was in 10 11 years old was in the lunchroom bowed his head to pray
and he got in trouble and he got in trouble every time because he refused
not to biology I mean he wasn't disturbing anybody was his own lunch
he Allah said to pray and they and they and and he had to go the detention hall
not Houston but somewhere else and of course there's a Rutherford Institute
now bringing forth the case against this but that's what I'm kind of telling you
about now it's important that you teach your children convictions not just
traditions it's okay to have traditions we have traditions in our home but I
want to bring forth those the things of truth that are convictions you know what
happens to traditions when they become unpopular you don't do but convictions
no matter what changes I must do this because that of conviction I mean used
to be that all kinds of things were different
mother was at home and we had June Cleaver at home you know and all these
kind of things there's difference I mean it's a difference in society different
things happen well whatever happens is what is our conviction from Scripture
and what is tradition now he's saying I want you to teach you the commandments
the statutes and the judgments of God why because they're absolutes what's
happening in our society it's saying there is no absolutes but you can do
these if it fits you that's the truth for you well that's not true
there are absolutes of Scripture and we as Christians are going to find out
whether we believe these absolutes as convictions or had they just been handed
down to me from my mother and father in their traditions and when it becomes
difficult to obey them that I'll get rid of them okay verse two we've and three
we see the promise that results in doing what our responsibility so the Lord
commands us to teach in verse one that's a responsibility
number two we see the purpose and or the promise results that come from that you
will see - I don't know what versions you have but there are two purpose
clauses here in Hebrew in verse 2 it's found in the first part of the verse
there so that and then at the end it has and that you that your days may be
prolonged and slike - same particles in Hebrew which gives you an understanding
that he's trying to make two purposes here okay so you are to teach so that
they would do it so that you and your sons and your grandsons might fear the
Lord your God to keep all his statutes and his commandments which I've
commanded you all the days of your life now some people have a problem with the
fear of God because they afraid they take it at in a very human sense
that I am supposed to be fright frightened in coming to God
now I've explained this many times because we have new people constantly
coming in I need to constantly talk about that I'm not afraid of God now in
the sense that he's going to smash me every time I see anything anything like
that because my judgement was placed upon Jesus Christ God will never bring
my sins up for condemnation anymore okay and so I don't have to be afraid it you
know every time I see it he's gonna smash me he's gonna display me and spank
me if I don't get back in line just like I love my kids I'll spank them but it's
a complete difference than being locked up in the slammer in Harris County right
that's punishment okay God disciplines us if we got a line and continue now
what we need to realize is that we should not fear God in that sense but I
want to tell you you know God's God he's awesome I mean he's holy I mean have you
you know if he walked in the in the in the presence of someone who you greatly
respect maybe like Billy Graham you know there wouldn't be a fear of him but
there would be gosh you know mercy you know gosh here he is there's the man of
God there's it there's a all of it okay and
the only time I could and you've heard my illustration of this too many times
probably but it's like the Niagara Falls you know I said I've never been there
one time Lord willing I'll be there I understand you want to get as close to
the edge you can because you want to see the bottom of it and the huge waterfall
how beautiful it is but yet the closer you get to that edge there's a fear that
comes because you don't want to fall off the edge and yet there's a drawing to
God a drawing to look at the waterfall and yet there's a pulling back and
there's an ambivalent feeling and that's what we should have on the fear of Bob
in that fear of God should cause us to walk in righteousness and holiness with
God it's not just a fear of God that he's gonna zap me it's just that I don't
want to disappoint me it reminds me of my father died
want to disobey my father because I didn't want the belt but also I didn't
want to disappoint my father I love God and so my heart should be that I love
God and I don't wanna disappoint him but I also realize he's gonna spank me if I
get on line two because he loves me and so the concept of the Old Testament
often is the fear of God that's the Living God lays what he means that they
may have the fear of God in their life so that they will keep the commandments
and that they may all the days of your life
so responsibility of parents is to teach the things of God for the purpose of
that the sons and grandsons daughters granddaughters will walk in the Lord
they would see your God and number two that your days may be prolonged that you
may have a long life now what is happening to young people who are being
disobedient to God who are who are it doesn't have to be young people but any
person you take one man who who lives a life according to the scriptures and
another man who's ungodly and lives according to his lifestyle and that
man's going to be living a lot less in years because of the toil of what's
going to happen to his life now you say if everything was the same yes people
who are know the Lord die cancer or heart attack young sometimes but I'm
saying if you had everything the same this man would live longer and this one
would and that's a I thought general principle that we find in the book of
Proverbs that your days may be prolonged now for the nation of Israel is that the
days would be prolonged because God says if you disobey me then I'm going to I'm
gonna put the plagues of Egypt upon you that you just saw now we're not under
the Old Covenant so we don't have to worry about that
and as a nation now God disciplines Nations anyway but this is specifically
talking to the nation of Israel then it talks about oh israel you should listen
be careful to do it but you might be well with you that you may multiply
greatly just as the Lord the God of your father's has promised you in the land of
flowing of milk and honey that was Parliament that was the promise of the
Abrahamic covenant in Genesis chapter 12 so the responsibility in Chapter 1 teach
so that they would do it number 2 you the purpose is so that they
may fear God obey His commandments and live long you know that you may live
long and up on the earth and then it just talks about here o Israel the Lord
your God is one Lord or the Lord is one and then beginning so in verse one we
have the teach verse 2 we have purpose for verse 3 we have a warning and then
you just tell you about who God is in verse 4 and then we begins with the
parents in verse 5 parents must love God if they are to teach their children
about God so that's the blanket you need to fill in there parents must love God
if they are to teach their children about God okay you shall love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might do
you want your children to love God and I don't know any other parents that takes
her kids to church so everyone I've ever talked to they say yeah well if you want
your children to love God then you need to love God they need to see in your
life that you love God with all your heart and with your mind and with your
soul and on what is that what is he trying to say the heart the the soul the
all your might it's like the number one thing in your life
what's the passion of your soul what's what's it what do you long to do
well God's response to us is that you need to love God that way if you say you
love God John chapter 14 we don't have time to turn to you or John 15 also then
you ought to keep his Commandments that demonstrates your love for God so let me
ask you a question you don't have to answer me is do do your children know
that you love God I mean what D do they just say - yeah you know what mom and
dad the number one thing in their life is is God they're not perfect but their
passion is they love God that is a prerequisite if we want to to transfer
the teaching of Scripture now you can transfer content and you can transform
knowledge to your children but if you only want to transfer the things of God
then you need to love God your heart has to beat with the beat of following God I
hope you see that the more I begin to teach about the home and more I teach
about everything it always ends up about your relationship with God doesn't it in
my relationship with God the more I have a knowing God the more I'll be able to
do what God says the importance is not just knowing what I need to be doing my
family and setting the other is knowing God because if you know God then you
will know what you're supposed to be doing in the family all right
then it says in these words which I am commanding you today shall be upon your
heart so that number six is verse six parents must hide the word in their
heart if there are the teach to children about God you must hide the word in
their heart if they are to teach children about God hold you place there
and turn over the psalm seventy-eight this is one of my favorite
Psalms dealing with this area one thing I like about the Old Testament is that
they say the same thing over and over just seeing it in different ways and
that's what verses one through four does it's basically telling the same thing
listen he's basically singing into my instruction give ear get that you know
he just constantly says the same thing over and over
so verses five through eight is what he's trying to communicate let's look at
verse four we will not conceal them from their children from from their children
but tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord and his strength and
his wondrous works that he has done that's a transfer for he has established
that testimony and Jacob he's an appointed a law in Israel which he
commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children that the
generation to come might know even the children yet to be born that they may
arise and tell them to their children that they should put their confidence in
God and not forget the works of God but keep his Commandments and not be like
their fathers a stubborn and rebellious generation a generation that did not
high prepare prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God this the
psalmist here asked first Assaf is one that's concerned not just
with the generation that's under him but the generation even the ones are not
born yet and he understands that if you transfer that to your children and
that's what you are doing at this process at this time then they'll be
able to transfer to their children matter of fact I'm at the point where my
kids are who are 15 and 17 that I'm telling them you've had the privilege of
knowing the word and we've done the best we can with what we have and don't
forget what you fly when you get married if God has a wife for you and you have a
family you don't forget to do these things to your children another seat so
I'm always working on my grandchildren or not even born yet
but through my children praying that they don't forget this when you have
family you have devotion times in your homeland you read the scriptures and you
remember the things we've done and do pattern I mean I didn't have that as
much in my home we had a few here and there we went to church and I had a
great Christian home in that sense but we didn't we didn't have the scriptures
every day like we do in my house or on a regular basis but I want to take what I
did and make it better because they don't have you know they'll be able to
do it better if they'll just take advantage of it and that's what he's
saying now y'all know track and and field and when you do a relay what's the
most important thing in a real life hold on and passing the most crucial time you
can have the four fastest men in the world on relay and you can have the four
slowest men that's that it that energy even came to the race okay and if they
drop the baton that lose the most crucial thing is passing the baton to
the next person well that's what we're doing and that's one reason why America
is having problems today is that we're not passing the baton to the next
generation we're not taking those principles and passing it to them how
important they really are and how many generations does it take to lose
Christianity just takes one if that generation doesn't take the next one it
doesn't take the next one guess what we're in real trouble
and we're going to begin to reap that consequences because we have a
generation that's growing up now that's in the transition that happened
historically in our country we as a church don't pass that baton
then it's gonna be worse than the generation to come
okay so parents here we are he's we're gonna have devotions in the
home I have to prepare my heart I mean you say well Steve I haven't done too
well so far well okay that's what's wonderful about Christian life it's just
like Jonah you know he blew it you know you know but but there's always the
second chance okay as soon as we repent to God I I ask forgiveness because I
haven't done these things we're gonna start you know I don't know how we're
going to do it I don't know I feel very inadequate in doing it but we're gonna
do it praise God I'll tell you what God will be with you
will you have some frustrating times uh-huh
well yes enjoyable times uh-huh and guess what the benefits gonna be okay
well so notice what he says here what you are to do okay
I've got my heart toward God I want the Word of God within my own heart how am I
going to be able to teach the things of God to my children if I don't study the
word I have to study the word myself so verse six is done in these words which I
command you today shall be on your heart not in a notebook
not just in my mind in a sense that I know them that they're part of me
because why truth is caught more than it's taught you need to do both but you
know the father that's smoking a cigarette and leaking down two cents and
don't smoke cigarettes or whatever you want to say I mean what does he teach
don't do what I do but do what I say I mean you could take that and how do in a
guy with a can of beer don't drink you know that's really bad for anything we
do and tell if you don't do that and we do ourselves whatever it is it's not
good and they going to catch so truth is caught more than its taught though it
needs to be both okay now let's see what God says and
remember God is a great God and he brings forth principles that apply to
any generation and any culture and that's what makes the Word of God the
word of God in verse seven we see a formal teaching and an informal teaching
it says in verse 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall
talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when
you lie down and when you rise up notice it says and you shall teach that word
there is I think a formal teaching in other words you need to have a regular
time in your home where you teach your children the things of God I usually do
it at dinner table because we're all around the dinner table and they take 10
minutes here or but 10 minutes every time will come 10 minutes it takes a lot
some planning 10 minutes something to give to my kids the things of God okay
that word their teacher means to stimulate by teaching it was used often
in it's a basic sense of sharpening something I'm going to teach them to
sharpen them or I'm going to teach it over and over so they really get it okay
so this is a formal time and we're going to talk about that I'm gonna bring some
books out here in just a few minutes to talk about that I mean so I guess I'll
do that right now since we're talking about formal teaching now there go to
the bookstore at Christian bookstore and you can have a blast but when I first
started I didn't see a lot of Christian books for kids and and it still is the
lure you get the more you have to a certain point and then when you get the
teenager they figure they got a lot more now but man when I went through there
was nothing that I could find I had to go alone
the scripture is pretty good you know it's supposed to laugh on that one now I
want to tell you the three major areas that I've used I'm just going to tell
you what okay and you all can take it and make it better when you do please
tell me about it would you so I can use it the three major areas that I use and
I divided my year in this way first of all was I dealt
with the doctrines of the Word of God okay just the doctrines of the and then
I the Bible itself we read from the scripture itself so the book of the
Bible and then I use life situations and how the Bible applies to those life
situations and I divided my year up into those thirds and that's what we did and
a third of the year we spent dealing with doctrine a third of the year we
dealt with just reading the Bible certain sections of the scriptures and a
third of the year we looked at books that helped us deal with the certain
situations and how the Bible applies to those situations we still do that today
I do a little bit different when they got older
now you say what should we do well I want to recommend you and we're gonna
have a surprise for you hoping them I haven't talked to Steve yet but maybe in
two weeks mother today we might do what we just talked about but this is a
little a little book here this is for little kids
I started Samuel was at five years old and Andrew was three years old in this
catechism catechism is just taking doctrine put it in any questions so that
the kids can memorize them and that's called catechism for boys and girls I
got 10 of them ordered and we'll be getting them in hopefully pretty quick I
put some quite corrections that I think that makes it more documenting correct
in the Flyleaf but he took these little questions here
and at at 3 years old my little Andrew could put these answers out just like
this first question is who made you answer God made me I mean any kid can do
that number two what else did God make answer God made all things number three
why did God make you in all things for his own glory now he didn't know what
his own glory is but he will one day and if it's already up there he was
prai's what happens number four how can you glorify God answer by loving him and
doing what he commands number five why why I ought you to glorify God because
he made me and he takes care of me okay that's a very basic and I have a
breakdown of what questions you should do for what age wasn't me I found
somewhere else and what happens is you can teach your kids doctors by answering
these questions I'll used to play games with it you know the little squares that
you have in your home with if you have well if you have carpets you can't play
but I had little tiles you know and if they answer the question right they got
to move up you know and we played games with this we had all kinds of little
things that we used to do but they begin to answer this questions and what
happens is you can do this which is real good with different ages if the one
through three year old I mean it's a three year old is there and you do your
questions for that and a five year old says well you know he's reviewing what
because he has to listen to it and then as the five year you go to hit the
five-year-olds questions the three year old listen to the five year olds
questions by the time he gets there he's got him Andrew had a better better way
to go because he was listened to Samuel and so it's a constant review no matter
where you are and this goes through and I've got up through the fourth grade I
think we went through the fifth and sixth grade using this little booklet
right here dealing with the doctrines of the Word of God when they got to seventh
grade let's see if I brought that one or not yeah I did I switched and went to
another confession on catechism in the back and I didn't have him memorize it
we just talked about it because it was he didn't he was
memorizing a lot of scriptures going to Christian school and things and so we
talked about this catechism from seventh grade and eighth grade it's Kings
catechism which is in another Puritan book and then my sons when they got into
high school which they are now they're using what they call the Westminster
Shorter Catechism and all these are basically the same all
the way up and some I don't agree with and we just skip those chapters but I'm
teaching them doctrine and theirs now they're getting up to Samuel dealt with
the fifty-two vital doctrines by oh this is Nolan Wolverton chafer 52 vital
doctrines and then the last one next year Sam you'll be doing the basic
theology by dr. IRA so that when he goes off into college so hopefully he'll be
grounded enough in the doctrines of the Word of God okay now all of these
dovetail together all the way through and that's how I dealt with doctrine
okay the doctors of the Word of God just on a formal way okay now let's move on
to the reading of the scriptures okay if you have smaller kids we memorize
scripture too and I'll get to that a minute I got so much to the Bible and
pictures for little eyes that is excellent a little book it's for lower
grade school kids and I suggest that you read one story and let them answer the
questions come back and read the same story again next night and they almost
answer the question read the next one and then and have better words read
three stories each time but just drop off one and they review because they
like to answer the questions if you have want always something new they're not
able to answer the questions by the third time you read if you read the
question of the chapter three times or the section three times they're going to
answer the question because that's the third time you've asked those questions
three days in a row and you can go through the book and it's free it's a
very good book there is another book that's intermediate we used and we
loaned it out somehow we didn't get it back that that goes along after that
when they get into junior high we went right straight into the scriptures and
so when we did scripture reading now we just use this we're going through the
book of hours i right now at our house andrew picked it he wanted to read that
book we've gone through the book around we've gone through a lot of books we've
had a lot of fun now for kids for younger age bible memory BMA
excellent this one we use a lot Samuel in a Christian school got up and did the
the concept is you have the letters of the alphabet and that alphabet tells you
what verse it is a all we like sheep gone astray being believed on the Lord
she starts with what B well I think we for talent show he went through half the
book I said well we better go through the whole book you know I'd be kind of
long people just flabbergasted do that but that's nothing really I mean it's
really not a feat for a kid to go through that because they can memorize
scripts lot more than we do I think we've really cheated our kids I mean
they mean I like it but our kids kind of liked it but that's a good to Bible
memory BMA association and that's a good little point they're bringing life
situations the scriptures into life situations I've got so many books quick
sorry these are doctrinal books I forgot about
these by moody press excellent books these are best ones out I found
let me just read some of the titles what is the Bible what happened when you die
angels and me who is Jesus Jesus is no secret the Holy Spirit and mean what is
the church who is God these are just basic important books they're still out
today praise God life situations books by Ken Taylor there's three of them like
this and that he uses that he that brings in life situations
don't fight yeah they have a section on that helping things that hurt pure in
heart be being punished there is only one God never prayed to anyone but God
no swearing life is precious don't tell lies money for Jesus you know what about
being a helper you know this certain life situation
there's three books in this in this series living thoughts for children and
ours this one and there are other ones I don't have time to look at living
letters for children just Ken Taylor has some good ones that way three and one
for the Trinity this is the best book I found for little kids to learn at
Trinity it's called three and once by Concordia Lutheran's they did a good job
on that I'm running out of time information on money teaching your
junior high and high school people this is some of Burkett's material get that
on there Bill Gothard has character sketches dealing with animals that bring
forth different qualities and characters so that you can teach your kids I always
loved them about animals and then he takes those principles all these lessons
are here and there's two volumes of them I have on that as I get older in junior
high the survival care right Jim this is what Jim used in his discipleship
survival kit one there's a Fievel kit - that's really great to use we need to
teach our kids about sex not little relegate it to the schools and there's a
series of six books by Lutheran's did I put that on your notes yeah I did okay
let me get there's some more books there and I'd only have time I want to spend
all the time but there's plenty material out there and I want to go through these
suggestions so you can help you with formally teaching your children look at
helpful suggestion be consistent don't go don't go too long
very teaching methods very teaching material plan time and place make a
sacrifice to do it young age is important to use visual aids okay what
to do you can sing you can play instruments you can share Matthew if you
haven't you can play you got it share what God
has done in your life and others read the Bible other Christian books such as
biographies we've had some of the greatest time reading some Christian
biographies of men of God and women of God use role playing we play we had
David and Goliath I think I had to be Goliath and for 30 minutes I had to fall
down you know but you know just acting out certain things ask questions use
visual aids videos memorize scripture games Bible I'm just anything on family
times now here's some topics that I think you should cover dealing with sex
the solution series a new Concordia sex ed series it's excellent Christian life
finances Burkett has some help there problems issues in this and sins of the
20th century they need to know those things they need to know them like drugs
abortion of pornography but dot to experience them the cults and occult and
they need to know about the that prophecy first and second coming how and
why we should serve others and to minister they need to know a work ethic
they don't know how they need to know how to survive college with your faith
if they go to college they need to know about womanhood about wife and manhood
husband child rearing those are some of the topics but over your charing at a
time you should be teaching your children in my opinion and that is a
formal way okay now the next thing in the text and we've got a hasten on here
is that you should be diligent teach them diligently to your sons and
daughters but then when you walk and when you when you lie down when we rise
up and what he's saying is all the time when you drive in a car what do you do
with your kids what are you talking about I mean there's a lot of driving
time he's saying wherever you going and how are you going be involved in
teaching your kids the scriptures one of the most the best time that you'll have
often is they're ready when something impacts
their life that you may have the wisdom to be able to share with them the things
of God I had the most theological conversation as I've said over the years
with my five-year-old son cooking one of those rare times of steak out on the
grill because he had talked about he had learned in Sunday school about
sacrifices and said that's a cow that he in it and we went from sacrificing and
cookie a nice steak to Jesus Christ and his death on Calvary's cross all just
because if I was cooking a steak okay I think all cook steaks were off but
anyway so that informal time is very important and we ought to do it
diligently it says in the text then verse 8 it says and you shall bind them
as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontlets in Israel they bind little
flock trees on their hands on the boxes and on their heads and in those boxes
and hands are Scripture but what do you do with your hands well you work with
them what do you do with your mind well I hope you think with it
they make convictions with it so God is saying make sure the Scriptures affects
your thinking your convictions and effects to where you work okay and then
it says write it write them the things of God on the doorpost of your house and
on the gates now does that mean we're supposed to have scripture in our home
well I think that's be a good idea but that's not what it means it means that
God's Word is seen in your private light and the gate was the time of the public
square where they took care of a lot of the public things and so your public
life and your private life should not be different they should see your
convictions and you know the scriptures in your mind and in your work in your
private life as well as in your public life and I won't tell you if they don't
see it you'll have a those kids of them the most difficult kids to reach for
Jesus Christ I mean if you go to church and you put on a certain thing and in
your private life is something else your you will it will have a great
damage upon the kids I'm not saying they can't recover because they did but they
say the other kid to say oh yeah I know about that stuff
I've been Church okay that stuff in work y'all see what my parents did when they
came home and that kind of thing can really get kids off yes Jimmy verse
eight buying on the binding on the on the hand and not the band symbolizes
training in your habits and the binding on the forehead symbolizes training in
your convictions and then the number nine is the private life and public life
I had to run through that to get it through alright and so if that is your
life then that will be a tremendous platform for you to be able to use the
tools that I have up here and many others within your life now next week
we're going to begin the roles of the husband and wife we'll have an
introduction first and then we'll spend four weeks on husband and wife roles I'm
not going to tell you which one I'm going to start with so you can show up
let's pray father I thank you so much and I just pray that those who before me
will be encouraged I pray no one's discouraged in saying well gosh I've
never done this and my kids are certain such age and I just pray that today is a
new day and that no matter where we are in our child training that we can start
today at least in some way and build it up to be able to teach our children the
things of God and so father I pray you to give them strength and encouragement
to do so to the honor and glory of your name in Christ's name
amen
get a copy of it and be able to pick them up again we're involved with
discipleship and this is the first level of discipleship and there's three
sections we've had the two booklets that you've been through and now we're
dealing with the family section and this family section we really need to keep on
top of it and I've put these little blue notebooks in the back so that you can
have those that can put your notes in them and so when you finish this you can
turn this in to me in about another 17 weeks and you can get credit for that
and then if you've done all three sections you'll get a certificate we're
going to bring people up and do that if you miss one section or one we're going
to be repeated down the line I hope they'll be repeated the rest of this
life of this church so that people can be involved see then you'll have the
Christian life and family life and you could teach it wherever you want you can
teach it your home teach it to people at work and things for this sort so
something that's transferable that's why we did it Polly we did hope you picked
up the notes soon as you walked in and today we want to turn to the book of
Deuteronomy Deuteronomy chap
