It is day 12 and we are getting excited. And the reason why we get so excited is
because you're about to get ready to publish your first real video because at
this point, you've designed your video and we've even talked about getting your
branding elements going. I hope you did well on your homework assignment because
getting that brand and that animated logo and updating your icons, that's when
I think for me the project gets real and I get really excited. Now, it's time to
actually produce a video and there's one more thing that we really need to talk
about before we dive into that. Which is what is your personal brand? Because once
you turn that video on, it's like how are you going to dress? What's the impression
you're going to make and what are they going to look? What are they going to
experience? Where are you shooting your videos? That's all a part of what your
personal brand looks like. Yeah, there's a definite feel to what you're doing and
it's really important to define what that feel is and be very consistent throughout
your videos. I spent a lot of time on my King of Random channel, just trying to
figure out what my feel is you know. What do I resonate with and what has come
down for me is this more of like that industrial feeling. It's being a
construction worker. But not just a construction worker but a heroic
construction worker. Who's doing backyard experiments, you know the things that
we're kind of doing haven't really been done since MythBusters. So, I resonate
with the MythBusters a lot. And if you look at Mythbusters they've got a style
they've got a feel. There's like steel and concrete and explosions and charcoal
and that kind of thing. So that's definitely on brand for them. But you're
not going to see them in a white kitchen with you know doilies and you know red
curtains, right? That just doesn't feel right for MythBusters. So you know think
about yourself. What do you resonate with? What's your brand and how can you keep
that brand message consistent? And what's really authentic to you? I remember when
I retired at the age of 26 that I was pretty much done working but months
later, I was getting ready for like, "hey what's my next purpose? What's my next
mission and what I was going to do is I was going to take the way that I had built my
wealth. I was going to share with other people and I decided I was going to put on
into them. I remember when I put on that first event, I went to the store, I bought
a suit and you see this young man with like a teenager baby face wearing the
suit and it just it felt laughable. But it also felt really an authentic. I felt
like I was trying to be older than I really looked. I was trying to impress
other people, I was total people pleaser. You wouldn't catch me dead in a suit at
any one of my events period. And yet that's something I was doing and what I
want to invite you to do is to challenge this concept of what's authentic for you,
what would be genuine for you because when I think of King of Random, there's
no way Grant is ever going to wear anything other than distress jeans. It's like it's
just like a part of the look and feel, right? Right. There's going to be caution
tape, there's going to be danger, there's going to be warning signals and that's just
a part of that energy these built. You know if you come on to my channel, Kris
Krohn, you know my concept of where I really rock out, feeling comfortable as a
businessman, is I'm usually wearing non-distressed dark colored jeans.
Actually kind of like I am right now. You'll find me generally in non branded
plain t-shirts and then I might be wearing a sports jacket from time to
time or maybe it's a button-up shirt but never the last two buttons. And I'm
consistent with that brand and that energy when I do my events and when I do
that particular channel because it's actually where I feel the most
comfortable. And since that message is actually either about wealth creation of
financial training or it's about how to cultivate a mindset, that's a look and a
feel that I just I feel really comfortable with and now is the time for
you to start thinking, "wow! what's true to me how do I want to dress how do I want
to share what's that consistent brand look and feel like and where would I
also shoot my videos? Like it would be strange if King of Random was shooting
videos in a doilied up kitchen. It would yeah. Right. Yeah I think like abandoned
warehouse, concrete building, Totally. You know apocalyptic bunker kind of thing
like that would really turn me on to get out of the workshop and go film in a
place like that because that's what I resonate with. Place that you can destroy
blow things up, make a mess and it's not going to look any worse so I might
actually add character. Yeah, absolutely. So we're inviting you to actually think
of two particular things. One is, what is your clothing? What does that regiment
look like? Number two is location. Where are you going to film your videos? The reason
why we want you to think about this and to put a little bit of thought into it,
is because we want your logo and your banner and your logo sting with the
animation, your clothing, your location, we want them all to match. When those things
don't match, it produces a really awkward vibe. Like signals, yeah. Yeah, like let's
say for example that I was a motivational speaker and I did a channel
on how to speak like a pro. But every time I got on the camera, I was like, "hey,
guys thanks for showing up today. I'm going to be teaching you about how to speak
with confidence. It would be such a weird strange
mismatch or like emotionally, you've got someone telling their story smiling
while they're crying. It's like smiles and tears don't go together. So we just
want to invite you to be conscious enough to say, "what I'm going to be wearing
and where I'm going to be shooting and what my brand and my colors looks like? It's
not like they have to be perfectly color coded. But energetically, they should go
together and if they do, what it does is it tells the audience this makes sense
to me. This person makes sense to me because and I'm not seeing this really
off weird thing about them. That's how you gather a following as well, right?
They see something consistent that they like, that they resonate with. So, if
you're very consistent about who you are and you know who you are and you're
projecting that very consistently throughout your videos, you're going to gain
a very dedicated subscriber base. You know people who resonate with what
you're doing. You're going to attract those kinds of people. You know when you get
subscribers on your channel, not all subscribers are equal. You know you're
going to attract a certain group of people that are represented by those
subscribers. Other people who have other subscribers aren't sharing the same
people. They've got other groups of people. So that's important to keep in
mind is what kind of subscriber base you are fostering as you as you continue to
build this empire of yours. Your whole work is for you to actually
establish a personal brand by focusing on two things. I want to invite you to
get clear on what are you going to wear? What's your dress code for you being you
that matches this whole look and feel that you're putting together and then
number two, right now we want you to start thinking location. Where am I
actually going to shoot this first video because guess what we're doing tomorrow?
Tomorrow, we're getting you on the journey of creating that first video.
Woohoo!
