How to Knit a Pennant Banner
Hi, Guys! I'm Kristen and thank you for joining me
here on STUDIO KNIT where I am continuing the SUMMER KNIT SERIES with
4th of July upon us I am creating this banner and the colors of a red
white and blue you can get creative with your own yarn colors to create festive
leaf or any other holiday as well this is an easy level project perfect for
anyone who's completed my ABSOLUTE BEGINNER KNITTING SERIES and all we're
doing our knits and yarn over increases the triangle shapes are knitted flat
from the bottom up and you're increasing your stitches to create your triangle
and the two sides of the triangle have a really pretty airy eyelet border our
isosceles triangle is about eight inches high in my sample here and then each
side is about nine inches and once you're ready to bind off we're doing the
stretchy bind-off it allows it to line nice and flat you'll see that using
solid yarn it's a garter stitch pattern and it is totally reversible and if you
create yours knitting in stripes one side the right side will look perfect
but it's not reversible because on the back side the wrong side it's not really
the side that you want people to see and to make this extra patriotic I am adding
a star embellishment to mine I will have the link to the free video and knitting
pattern for you in the description below and of course the free written pattern

knitting needles I'm using size 11 you can use any size you'd like of course
scissors and tapestry needle and my yarn I'm using red white and blue and again
you can get really creative and customize your banner with any color or
yarn size that you'd like the yarn I'm using today is from BERNAT it's a great
outdoor yarn it comes in both solids and striped they've grafted a really great
color change for us here but for my purposes I'm going to cut that and use
this as two different yarn colors and I also went ahead and got this red yarn
color and this outdoor yarn by Burnett is really cool because you can keep it
outside it doesn't fade and if it gets wet outside it doesn't get moldy either
so I am probably going to be using this for a future yarn bomb as well
okay let's knit it up to begin we start with our beloved Slipknot using the
longtail cast on method we're going to begin by casting on three stitches and
that is the bottom little point of our triangle row one of our four row repeat
is k1 that is knitting one stitch now the next is why oh that's yarn over and
what we do with our working yarn here we're going to pass it behind and then
in the middle of our two needles we're creating an increase so we're going to
knit the next stitch and that yarn over right there creates our increase so
where we had two stitches now we are increasing toward
the right on row 1 here and we finish off knitting all the way to the end in
this case there's only one knit stitch to go now Row 2 is very simple we are
just knitting all of those stitches and this is on the wrong side of our work
Row 3 we're going to knit all the way until we just have one last stitch
remaining so K of course it means knit and we are going to knit all the way
down our row right here on row 3 until we have one last stitch there on our
left needle so now we're going to yarn over that's bringing that working yarn
around to the front to create our increase and then we finish up by knit 1
we take that yarn around we create our increase with the yarn over and now we
are increasing slanting on the left side of our little triangle and of course row
4 very simple it is simply knitting all of those stitches there on the back side
the wrong side of your work and here's how it's looking after those 4 rows
let's do that repeat again so Row 1 we knit 1 we aren't over and then we are
knitting all the way to the end row 2 we are knitting all of our
stitches all the way down the row and then on row 3 we are knitting all the
way to the last stitch so I'm knitting all the way down until there's one last
stitch there on the Left we yarn over knit one stitch
there's our increase on row 3 and then we just finish up row 4 by knitting all
stitches and that's all there is to it now if you're using a solid yarn you
just repeat all 4 rows if you're going to do stripes let me just show you how
to do that the pattern is exactly the same I am going to add
my yarn color right there on knit one bringing it around yarn over and then
we're going to knit to the end row two we're just knitting all stitches we get
to row 3 and we're knitting all the way to that last stitch there and then we
are yarning over and we are going to knit one and then finishing it up our
series of four rows row four is just knit all stitches and either as you go
or at the end you will need to weave in your yarn ends especially if you're
changing yarn colors you'll have a lot of different little yarn ends that
you'll want to weave in and you'll do that on the wrong side of your work and
then just cut off that yarn and keep on going
and here's how our triangle pennant is knitting up you'll see that for me I
decided to change on colors every eight rows and I'm knitting it up there's six
little stripes there I'm going to bind it off after I do 24 rows and the
stretchy bind-off it's really simple you start by knitting two stitches together
and then the stitch that you created on your right needle you're going to slip
it over to your left needle and you'll see the instructions are written between
asterisks because we just repeat this so now again we are going to knit these two
stitches together and then once they're knit together that one stitch on the
right needle you just slip it to the left needle and keep repeating this
pattern all the way down the row for your stretchy bind-off and at the end
here we're just going to do it one more time it is knitting two stitches
together and then just slipping one stitch to the left needle and then we
get to break our yarn just cutting it right here and with our tapestry needle
we are going to weave in our ends and that's how you do the
stretchy bind-off I think it looks really great once you've knitted up the
number of triangles for your pennant banner that you'd like it's time to
attach them you can get really creative I am using some ribbon for mine for a
little extra patriotic Flair and then on the ends I'm just going to attach some
yarn I think twine would also look really good
you can totally attach your little triangles however you would like I hope

There are so many people in this world with their unique characteristics.
One of the most heated discussions about people is whether they are introverted or extroverted
people.
Both introversion and extroversion are just to indicate whether socialization is mentally
exhausting or not.
However, the elaboration of both characters are actually deeper than that.
It is frequently noted that introverts are not ideal character in this world.
The reason is simply because they are not engaged with other in social interaction.
Moreover, many people think that the effect is severe including isolation from society
which leads to inability to get a proper job.
If that what happens, how can introverts succeed?
One suggestion is to fake it, act as if you're an extrovert.
Faking it that you are introvert is the best thing you can do.
The reason behind this is that introversion and extroversion are only a character label
which does not truly show who you are.
Unfortunately, people including the introverted people believe the stigma of negativity of
this character.
This creates a label for introverts that they are not worthy and they somehow believe in
it.
Take one example when we are socializing for specific purposes such as party, forum group
discussion, class activity or anything else.
We often see the extroverts play significant role through their speech and convincing gesture.
Despite of their non-sense talk, they can make things up to fix what they have expressed,
returning to be a valuable experience.
Meanwhile, introverted people stuck behind the shadow of the extroverted people.
There is one turn around against this trend though.
It is basically to just believe that people are unique in nature.
This should not limit people from just two broad classification of being introverted
or extroverted.
Eventually, one that defines the success is merely how introvert you are.
However, how much effort you put into something you are passionate about.
So, here's some tips for introverts to succeed in a world full of extroverts.

#1 - Fake it.
Once in a while, an introvert need to "faked it" in times when she knew she would later
regret not having her voice heard.
While it's true that you will get the uncomfortable feeling for drawing attention to yourself
at times, you'd become better and more confident at sharing your views when it really matters.
But remember, pretend to be an extrovert only in moments that truly mattered.
#2 - The written word is your friend.
Introverts are known to feel more comfortable expressing themselves in writing than through
talking.
While extroverts tend to think out loud, you likely prefer to carefully consider an issue
before you share your thoughts with others.
Make this into your advantage by writing down your thoughts before meetings or get-togethers.
You know, bringing your note everywhere while working is actually a good idea.
#3 - Meet like-minded people online.
You don't need to be afraid to do some of your networking online, via social media or
meetup groups as this can allow you to find like-minded people who you can then choose
to meet with offline; sparing you the hours it might take to find such individuals in
real life.
#4 - Step outside your comfort zone from time to time.
While you enjoy and feel you're safest when alone, there will be times when you'll be
in a room surrounded by extroverts.
When you find yourself in these situations, it's important you don't give in to your natural
tendencies to just let everyone else do all the talking.
Forcing yourself to practice your public speaking and conversation skills can benefit you in
all areas of your life, giving you the confidence needed to step outside your comfort zone when
the need arises.
#5 - Focus on your strengths.
Living in the world full of extroverts is like a disadvantage for introverts at times,
however, all that matters is believing to your strengths.
For starter, introverts are tend to absorb information quickly (because, you know, you're
listening), be observant when it comes to group dynamics, and see things that others
may miss.
Use these skills to your advantage, whenever possible.
Be aware of the strengths that come with introversion, and focus on honing and developing these skills
and traits.

I'm currently waiting for Len to come by. Um, you may remember her from AnimeNEXT 2015, I believe.
I'm super excited to be spending it with her as well as my friends Izumi/Roxas,
who you also met in 2014/2015, one of those two, as well as Kage!
My friends from Revolutionary Productions, I will be spending the weekend with them and I'm
super excited for the adventures that'll happen this year!

Jun 22, 2018 AceShowbiz - Joseph Gordon-Levitt is reuniting with his Looper co-star Bruce Willis to emcee the action man's upcoming Comedy Central TV roast
The Expendables actor will follow the likes of Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, James Franco, and Justin Bieber when he becomes the butt of the joke as friends and comedians rip him to pieces during The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis, which is set to film at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on 14 July
The special will air in the U.S. on 29 July. Gordon-Levitt played a younger version of Bruce's character in 2012's Looper, and he reveals he jumped at the chance to be the roast master during the TV special
"I've looked up to Bruce my whole life," he says. "I was genuinely honoured to work alongside him and, in essence, play him when we made Looper together
He has treated me with absolutely nothing but warmth and kindness. And so I look forward to mercilessly making fun of him on TV"
Other guests set to join in the fun of the TV roast will be announced in the near future

El candidato presidencial de la coalición Todos por México, José Antonio Meade, anunció que para enfrentar el huachicoleo en Petróleos Mexicanos solicitará la intervención y ayuda de las fuerzas armadas y de la Secretaría de Hacienda para abatir el delito

Por ello, pedirá a las fuerzas armadas, al Sistema de Administración Tributaria y a la Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera de Hacienda que resuelvan el huachicoleo, al tiempo que salvaguarden a Pemex, a sus trabajadores y sus instalaciones
"Pemex ha enfrentado riesgos de seguridad todos los días, no solamente de perjuicio de sus trabajadores, Pemex ha sido víctima de huachicoleo, y en ese huachicoleo muchas veces se voltea a ver a Pemex y se le pone al centro del problema
Hay que entender que Pemex está al centro de la solución, pero que no le toca enfrentar el problema solo"
